No warning light. Going down the freeway at About 70-80 mph then the accelerator stops working. It goes down to about 44 mph with my foot floored in gas pad. I have to get off the road and then let her set to cool . This went on over and over on a recent 15 hour trip I had the transmission sensors evaluated and it was indicated they were no good replaced one but need 2 and one reordered. If was . Waiting on replacement and the outside parts so I'll keep up with the changes we do to if they are wrong. Also replacing outside transmission filter.

I was in a head on collision going 55-60mph with no airbags deployed. Car started a dripping fire. I have seatbelt lacerations starting from collarbone/neck area cross my chest, breast and right side ribs including deep bruising on lower abdomen and pelvic area. Police would not let me in my car bc air bags could potentially go off at any time but car made it to the tow-yard still without airbags going off. No warning or recalls sent to me since I bought the car in May of 2022.

Vehicle has a habit of losing speed, even on cruise control, when going more than 70 mph for extended times and dropping below 60 when doing so on Interstate with no warning lights or system notifications. The most recent occurence was on Saturday, June 7th when driving on the interstate and cruise control engaged at 73 mph when it cut off, dropped to just below 60 without warning and would not accelerate back when pedal completely depressed and then AC system started blowing HOT air and compressor would not kick back on. First attempted to check freon and those levels are not the issue- air blows but blows hot without cooling at all. This did occur in sustained temps in the low to mid-90s.

My car is a 2013 Rogue S with 118,000 miles. Two weeks ago I was on the I-95 at around 70 miles an hour and the car suddenly goes to 45 miles, despite my insistence to maintain my speed, I had to give up and pull over to the right ... I was able to go home at low speed and this experience traumatized me. After that I consulted a mechanic who told me without joking that these cars have the worst transmission and I should contact Nissan. I contacted Nissan customer service to explain the problem, they told me no and gave me a case number (52135330). After checking, it turns out that following repeated complaints Nissan would have increased the warranty up to 120,000 miles, but not for me!

Purchased a 2013 Nissan Rogue with 95,000 miles on it back in the summer of 2021. currently has 102,00 miles. While travelling on the turnpike at 75 mph, the engine suddenly shut down and I began coasting until I stopped. Being in the left passing lane, I had to get over to the berm without getting hit by passing vehicles (2 nearly rear-ended me) because I was coasting slowly across two other lanes. Once stopped, the car would not restart. I started doing research as to why this happened. I needed a new part for the transmission per the Nissan Dealership. Nissan said I also needed an "engine cooler" for $1500 or it will happen again. This situation is a very well-known issue with this year of vehicle. It can happen with minimal mileage on it but usually when the tempos are in the 90's. Nissan knows about this because later models have these engine coolers installed. I could not afford $1500 and the extended warranty I purchased in 2021 did not cover it. This is a KNOWN issue and there needs to be a serious look at a Class-actions lawsuit. I paid for this part already and the car has been running fine.

KNOWN issue with engines overheating and the vehicle stopping. Purchased a 2014 Nissan Rogue with 95,000 miles on it back in the summer of 2021. It currently has 102,00 miles. Along with the purchase, I purchased the “extended” warranty for $2400 to cover the drive-train. All was running well until the temperatures starting climbing into the 90’s consistently. While travelling on the turnpike at 75 mph, the engine suddenly shut down and I began coasting until I stopped. I tried restarting the car but to no avail. I called a tow truck to tow me back home 35 miles. I started doing research as to why this happened. It’s two-sided. The good part was that it shut the engine down before it overheated. The bad part was that I did need a new part for the transmission per the Nissan Dealership. Good-bad there too. Though I had the extended warranty with Protective Asset Protection, I still had to pay the labor difference between what the Dealership charges and what the third-party would cover. That was a $400 difference which I discussed with the warranty company. They are in agreement with the Dealership on the amount of labor they would pay “per hour”. The difference is that “based on a national average”, they say the job would only take 9.7 hours X $150/hr. However, Nissan said it would take 12.3 to complete. The difference in time is where the $400 discrepancy comes in. Not sure how the warranty figures all that out, but that’s a scam in itself. I spoke to someone at Nissan Consumer Affairs and all she could do was escalate. While talking, she sent a message to the two gentlemen working on my case (Richard Garrett & Mark Avery) and they told her to tell me t have the Dealership call one of them and they can help. Since about 100,000 miles the engine valve cover/gasket is leaking engine oil which has leaked below and caused deterioration on other parts below like the tie rod boots etc. Vehicle is currently in the shop and I can send any documentation once I get it back.

#1 I have been completely affected by the KNOWN defect in the Nissan transmissions with the first instance being my on the interstate, 4 hours from home with my child only, and we lost power while driving the interstate. The losing power issue has happened multiple times over the last 5 years and all that I can find online is that Nissan is aware and owners can buy something and have it added to the transmission....if we purchased the vehicle I think Nissan should at least be responsible for the issues with something that they are aware is an issue with the products they sell. I am now putting oil in the car every few weeks because of a leak that there is no explanation of how it happened and will cost a fortune to fix; and most recently I came out of work and when I went to get in my car the handle came off in my hand. I've researched and apparently this too is an issue with Nissan Rogues......Everytime I search for a recall there is nothing for the 2013 Rogue but there are for the ones years prior and after??? Whoever thinks that the perfect line came out in 2013 needs reevaluate their information!!!!

Then a strong abnormal odor was coming the vehicle and it was discovered that there was a fire coming from the driver’s side footwell. The contact merged to the shoulder of the highway and safety exited the vehicle. No injuries were reported. The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. The police were on the scene and a report was filed. The origin of the fire was unknown. The contact stated that she sustained emotional distress due to the failure. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure and no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 260,000. The VIN was not provided.

While driving up a mountain with no guard rails, my car lost power and failed to accelerate. The car was still running and I had the gas pedal pressed all the way to the floor but we weren’t moving. I then had to reverse my car down a narrow, no guard rail mountain road, while also directing traffic coming at us and behind us to go around my vehicle. All with my 68 year old father and 62 year old stepmom passengers who were terrified; I was also but had to hold it together to get my family to safety. I finally reversed us to a switchback that had enough pavement for me to carefully turn the car around and drive down the mountain road to safety. There were no warning lights or symptoms before the failure occurred. Then while driving home on regular highway, the check engine light came on (solid, not flashing). I drove to my house and haven’t driven or started car since. My car is available for inspection upon request. This vehicle had the CVT transmission replaced under warranty around 30,000 miles and I suspect it has failed again.

While driving home from vacation I started noticing my car wasn't letting me drive over 65 mph. It felt like the car need to shift but wouldn't. I pulled over and turned my car off. Opened the hood of the car and everything seemed ok. When I got back on the road and started to pass traffic my car wouldn't engage when pushing on the petal. I had multiple cars behind me that needed to brake for me to be able to get back over into another lane so they could drive past me. My engine light then turned on. I could not drive over 65 when pushing the petal all the way to the floor. I stopped by an auto supply store and they helped me read my engine light. The code stated P0744/ Torque converter clutch circuit intermittent. I have made an appointment to get car looked out and have been told they believe it is my CVT. My car is just at 80,000 miles.

Transmission is the issue. It is available for inspection. I have to have my transmission fluid changed every 8,000 miles - my car will stop at red lights/stop signs. The RPM’s will go up but the car will not move. This has almost caused multiple accidents as the car behind me thinks I am going when I cannot move. If I stop, I may not get going for several seconds. It’s taken up to a couple minutes at times. This has been looked at by our mechanic and it does this for him as well. There are NO warnings. No check engine light, no change in the car. No signs of this happening. It is terrifying not knowing when this may happen. The transmission fluid is black when we get it changed after inly 8,000 miles.

Transmission failure was diagnosed. The car stopped accelerating on me on winding back roads putting myself and others at risk. Nissan told me there are no recalls so they will not repair it. This is the second issue I had with the car, however the first was not related to safety concerns. This one most certainly is! My life was at risk as a curvy road has blind spots other vehicles will not expect a car to be broken down when they come around a curve. This is due to the 2013 Nissan Rogue Transmission failure my SUV only has 97,000 miles

I was driving down the highway from the airport headed back home, and the car started to lose power. My foot was pressing the pedal to accelerate but the RPMS went past 3-4K and the speed kept going down. No engine lights showed up on the dash or any type of warning. I pulled over on the brim of the highway, I called someone who said to let it sit for a while and try again - i checked my radiator fluid - it was fine and didn't over heat. All electrical components work - i could barely accelerate. I was able to coast for a while at 60 mph and then when i needed to accelerate nothing happened. I tried to call the dealership today and they said there is no safety recalls - but i can see there is a CVT extended warranty in place, but not until 2014 Nissan rogue. I have a 2013 nissan rogue.

The transmission is going out and the car is less than 10 years old and it just hit 119,817 miles. I looked at the information on the Nissan Rogue's and it states that the manufacturer had a extended warranty on some of their Rogue's transmissions but not all of them for transmission repair, only some of their Rogues, because they apparently build a crappy transmission. I've looked up this extended warranty and any recall notices here but there are none showing. How do we get Nissan to fix their mess? This is ridiculous! I was driving down the interstate with my 9 month old grandson, when my car lost power and started jerking; I had to pull over and wait until the traffic was cleared so I didn't cause an accident. The car wouldn't go any faster the 18 MPH , not a safe place of the older lady and her grandson to be.. stuck on side of the interstate. After giving the car time to sit for awhile, we were able to get going again, but every time the car went over a certain speed, usually over 60 MPH, it would start to jerk again.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at a low rate of speed, the vehicle began to jerk as the check engine light illuminated the instrument panel. As the contact continued to drive, the vehicle would not accelerate above 5 MPH. Once the contact and her husband made it home she had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact called County Line Nissan North(522 Winsted Rd, Torrington, CT 06790) and Balise Nissan of West Springfield(500 Riverdale St, West Springfield, MA 01089), and both referred her to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle was towed back to the contact's house and had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000

only a month after I bought the car I was going normal highway speeds(around 70mph) and it felt as if my car slipped into neutral, I had 0 acceleration and continued to slow down on the highway, I shifted into low gear and back to drive and it picked up again. This has happened four more times where the cars automatic transmission has slipped.

After driving on the freeway in hot weather the car car decelerates and will not accelerate. Car goes from 65 MPH to around 40 MPH. This is a very dangerous situation in traffic. This has happened several times every year since we bought car. I have 'googled' this and it seems to be quite common with this Nissan model. Also other Nissan models. I am afraid to take this car on any road trip. Nissan will not address this issue. Something needs to be resolved before someone gets killed in this car!

When driving in approximately 90* weather on the highway, we lost all power/pickup and the car wouldn't get over approximately 45mph. This was an extreme safety hazard as the road we were on had no breakdown lane. We were eventually able to pull off the highway and let the vehicle cool for about 20 minutes and then we went backroads for the remainder of the drive. This has happened at least 5 additional times, all when driving on the highway in high temps and when the RPMs on the car are higher than 2K consistently. This is so dangerous and I cannot believe that Nissan isn't doing anything to make this safety issue right.

Purchased this car in 2015 from.Nissan dealership. The car randomly loses power when I'm on the highway. It's happened 3 times within the last 3 months. The car smokes a bit when this happens. Took it to my licensed mechanic who's owns a shop and was told my Transmission was fine, the fluids in the car where up to par and he couldn't find anything wrong with the engine. Was told Nissan Rogue has many issues with the CVT and its worth seeing if there are any open recalls on the car. So I checked by vin number and nothing came up. But as I do my research into other owners that have the same make and model as well year of my car, they are having the same issue. Wondering why hasn't this been looked into.

IT'S IS CRAZY THAT A DEALERSHIP WOULD SELL THIS VEHICLE TO A CUSTOMER. THERE'S EVEN THIS THUDDERING NOISE. THINGS HAVE BEEN FIXED AND SOMETHING ELSE WENT WRONG. IT'S BEEN NON STOP REPAIRS SINCE DAY ONE. IT ALSO SEEMS THAT 2013 NISSAN ROGUES AND HAD MANY MANUFACTURER PROBLEMS AND ISSUES. I WENT INTO FAIL-SAFE MODE WHILE I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN AGAINST TRAFFIC. THEN I COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNED AFTER DRIVING.NOW I HAVE JUST SPENT ANOTHER $500 ON A NEW BATTERY AND CABLES AND NEW ALTERNATOR, ONLY TO HEAR MY VEHICLE STILL NOT STARTING. ON OUR RETURN TRIP FROM MIRAMAR BEACH, FL TO OUR HOME IN VESTAVIA HILLS, AL THE CAR'S SPEED ABRUPTLY REDUCED TO APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AFTER DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON A STATE HIGHWAY (FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 HOURS) BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE ACCELERATOR OTHER THAN TO "VROOM" WHEN I PRESSED IT WITH MY FOOT. THE PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATION DID NOT CORRECT ITSELF DURING THE REMAINING 75 MILES OF THE TRIP. WE ALSO SMELLED AN ODOR LIKE BURNED OIL WHEN WE STOPPED. VERY DANGEROUS AS ALL OTHER CARS PASSED US ON THIS ALABAMA STATE HIGHWAY AND THE SUBSEQUENT DISTANCE ON INTERSTATE-65. BASED ON WHAT WE HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET, INCLUDING SETTLEMENTS OF CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS AND EXTENDED WARRANTY AWARDS FOR EARLIER MODEL YEARS, WE BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE NISSAN'S CVT TRANSMISSION AND IT'S FACTORY SETTINGS.

ALSO, DRIVING TO AUSTIN LAST WEEK, I NOTICE THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE PAST 60 ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. MY MPG ALSO FLUTTERS BACK AND FORTH. AFTER ARRIVING BACK HOME I LOOKED UP SO INFORMATION AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER RODGERS OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. IF THIS IS THE CASE, I AM CONFUSED AS TO WHY THEY ARE STILL SELLING THEM. AND WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A MASSIVE RECALL. HAD I KNOWN THIS, I WOULD NEVER HAVE GOTTEN THIS VEHICLE. I BROUGHT TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP TODAY AND REPORT NO RECALLS (WHICH I KNOW IS INCORRECT) AS ALSO 500,000 VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED. IF NISSAN DOES NOT PAY TO FIX THESE OBVIOUS CVT TRANSMISSION DEFECTS, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE OR RECOMMEND ANYONE WASTE A PENNY ON THIS BS COMPANY. NEVER AGAIN! AFTER CRUISING THE CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (70MPH) FOR AROUND AN HOUR THE CAR BEGINS TO SLOW DOWN ON IT OWN AND EVEN FLOORING THE GAS PEDAL WON'T INCREASE THE SPEED, IT WILL JUST REV AT HIGH RPM AND START SLOWING DOWN. SIMILAR TO OTHER NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS OUR 2013 ROGUE HAS LOST POWER WHILE DRIVE ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION AND OFTEN STRUGGLES TO KEEP SPEED. ONE INSTANCEWE WERE AT A RED LIGHT ON A STEEP INCLINE WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER. THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL BACK TOWARD THE CAR BEHIND AND WE NEARLY AVOIDED A COLLISION. WE NOTICED THIS ISSUE THE DAY WE PURCHASED IT. WE HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO OUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP RIGHT AWAY AND SEVERAL TIMES AFTER TO REPORT THE ISSUE BUT THEY KEPT SAYING NOTHING WAS WRONG. WE HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE RECOMMENDEDMAINTENANCE SCHEDULE AND OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS FROM NISSAN BUT NOW AFTER THE WARRANTY HAS ENDEDTHEY INFORMED US WE NEED TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION.NISSAN HAS BEEN ACTING VERY UNETHICALLY AND ARE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITYFOR THIS ISSUE THAT COULD BE FATAL TO OTHER DRIVERS.

WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL RPMS INCREASED SUDDENLY TO 4500 WITH A SPEED OF 70. SLOWED DOWN TO 60 AND RMPS CONTINUED TO CLIMB TO 4500 UNTIL I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID FAILING. MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE AWD LOSES ACCELERATION ON THE HIGHWAY. I LIVE IN A MOUNTAINOUS AREA AND IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN WHEN ACCELERATING UP HILL. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME AT BETWEEN 65-75 MPH. I WILL BE ACCELERATING UP A HILL AT 70 MPH AND IT WILL DROP DOWN TO SOMETIMES 50 MPH EVEN WHEN PRESSING I'M THE ACCELERATOR COMPLETELY. I STILL HAD PROBLEMS TO THE POINT WHERE NOW MY CAR IS NOT MOVING. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CONFIRMED THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE, BUT THE DEALER INSISTED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE AND SENT THE CONTACT A COMPUTER PRINTOUT TO BACK UP THEIR OPINION. ROSEN NISSAN IN MADISON DID THE DIAGNOSTIC ON IT ON THE THURSDAY PRIOR TO MY DEPARTURE ON MY TRIP , AND SAID THAT ALL THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE WAS TRANSMISSION FLUID REPLACED. APPARENTLY THERE WASN'T ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. PRIOR TO MY HAVING THIS ALL DONE I HAD RESEARCHED WHY MY CAR WOULD STOP ACCELERATING COMPLETELY AND THE REASONS WERE DUE TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION WHICH HAD BEEN RECALLED IN A NUMBER OF ROGUES AND MURANO AND VERSA'S. MANY HAD TO HAVE THEIR TRANSMISSIONS REPLACED AND THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTIES ON SOME OF THE MODELS TO 120K/10 YR. MINE WASN'T! TELL ME WHY A CAR WITH 110K THAT'S 5 YRS OLD WOULD ALL OF A SUDDEN DIE IF THERE'S NOT SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ACTUAL RELIABILITY OF THE WAY THE TRANSMISSION WAS BUILT IN THE FIRST PLACE? GOING IN CIRCLES WITH NISSAN THEY'RE DENYING ANYTHING WRONG ON THEIR END AND WON'T REPLACE SOMETHING THAT CLEARLY A LOT OF ISSUES HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITH THIS TRANSMISSION!! I WAS DRIVING IN ARIZONA ON A HIGHWAY IN MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. THE VEHICLE HAS 54,000 MILES. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 75 MPH. SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT LET ME ACCELERATE, THE RMPS WOULD NOT LET ME GO PAST 2500. I WAS DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND COULD NOT PULL OVER DUE TO OTHER TRAFFIC. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WAS NOT EVEN HALF WAY. NO SERVICE OR ENGINE LIGHTS ENGAGED. KICKED THE CAR OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL AND COULDN'T TURN THE AIR CONDITIONING ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES IN THE PAST. THE 2013 DOES NOT HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE TRANSMISSION SO NISSAN CONTINUOUSLY TELLS ME THEY CANNOT HELP ME.

HALF-WAY THROUGH THE HILLS I LOST ACCELERATION AND CRUISE CONTROL SHUT-OFF. REST OF THE WAY THROUGH THE HILLS WAS IN THE SLOW LANE/EMERGENCY LANE GOING 25 TO 30 MILES PER HOUR. FINALLY MADE IT THROUGH THE HILLS BUT BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO EXIT I8 I WAS GOING 20 THEN 15 THEN 10 MILES PER HOUR. AFTER AN HOUR OF LETTING THE CAR SIT I STARTED AGAIN PUT IN IN REVERSE AND THAT'S AS FAR AS I GOT. I HAD NO POWER AT ALL IN "D" OR "L", HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED 51 MILES. I LOST POWER ON THE PARKWAY, WAS UNABLE TO MOVE FROM THE RIGHT LANE, I COULDN'T EVEN MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER BEFORE LOSING ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE MY VEHICLE. NISSAN RECOMMENDS ADDING AN EXTERNAL PART TO THE TRANSMISSION TO COOL THE TRANSMISSION FLUID, BUT THE PART IS MORE THAN $700. I WOULD THINK THAT THIS ISSUE WOULD BE VERY SIMILAR TO THE ISSUE WITH THE CHRYSLER IGNITION SWITCHES. IF I AM DRIVING MY CAR 70 MPH OR MORE ON THE INTERSTATE, AND SUDDENLY LOSE POWER, I AM LIKELY GOING TO GET HIT, AND IF THE OTHER VEHICLES ARE TRAVELING 70 MPH OR MORE, THAT IS GOING TO CAUSE VERY SERIOUS INJURIES AT THE VERY LEAST. I HAD TO LEAVE IT OFF FOR AT LEAST 10 MINS BEFORE I GOT THE ACCELERATION POWER BACK. IF I TIRED BEFORE THAT IT WOULDNT ACCELERATE EVEN WITH THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. I HAVE READ A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE. I WAS TOLD IT IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND IT ONLY HAS 76000ISH MILES ON IT. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED TO ME NOT ONCE, TWICE, THREE TIMES BUT FIVE TIMES NOW ON THE HIGHWAY SINCE REACHING 60000+ MILES ON THE CAR!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND ADDRESSED. THE CAR IS GOING ALMOST ONLY 20 OR 30 MILES PER HOUR AT THIS POINT. I AM NOT GOING UP A HILL OR GOING VERY FAST I USUALLY ONLY TRAVEL ABOUT 60 OR 65 MPH. IT MAKES A WHINING SOUND AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. I DID TAKE THIS ISSUE UP WITH MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID WHAT IS HAPPENING IS SINCE THERE IS NO VALVE TO KEEP THE TRANSMISSION COOL THEN IT OVERHEATS AND LOOSING ACCELERATION IS A KIND OF WAY OF "SELF-DIAGNOSING" AND ATTEMPTING TO COOL DOWN-DUE TO THERE NOT BEING A VALVE ON THE CAR DURING MANUFACTURING. I DO INDEED HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 100,000 MILES UP TO 5 YEARS, BUT THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT PAY FOR THE PART BECAUSE IT WAS NOT ON THE CAR WHEN IT WAS MADE. THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR PARTS TO BE PUT ON THE CAR. ON NOVEMBER 25, 2015 NISSAN PUT OUT A SERVICE BULLETIN ON HOW TO PUT THE PART ON AND ARE WELL AWARE THAT ROGUES FROM 2008-2013 DO NOT HAVE THIS VALVE. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE THAT MY CAR COULD LOSE ACCELERATION AT ANY POINT-AND IT HAS ON THE INTERSTATE, HIGHWAY, AND MANY OTHER PLACES. NISSAN STATES THAT THE ROGUE HAD EVERYTHING ON IT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO, BUT THEY CAN'T TELL ME HOW THEY CAN PUT A BULLETIN OUT ON HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND THEY KNOW THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FIXED, BUT THEN WON'T PAY FOR THE ISSUE. I REALLY FEEL THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME TYPE OF RECALL ON A CAR THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE PROPER VALVE ON IT TO KEEP IT FROM OVERHEATING. THEY KNOW THAT OLDER MODELS WERE COVERED UNDER A NISSAN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE CVT TRANSMISSION,BUT MY 2013 ROGUE WAS NOT COVERED AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THE SPEED ON THIS CAR SHOULD NOT JUST DROP FROM 70 MPH TO 5 MPH IN A MATTER OF SECONDS, IT IS DANGEROUS. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT WON'T ADMIT IT. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. THIS ISSUED LASTED FOR SEVERAL MILES UNTIL IT JUST STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM CONTINUED OFF AND ON FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP TO AND FROM CALIFORNIA . THERE WAS EVEN MULTIPLE INSTANCES WHERE THE ROGUE WOULD NOT EXCELERATE AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP LIGHT . I PUSHED THE GAS MEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND IT WOULD MOVE MORE THAN 5-10 MPH FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET UNTIL IT WORKED AGAIN. WE HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 3 YEARS NOW AND HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL NOW. WHILE DRIVING ON 101 NORTH PASSING THROUGH SANTA ROSA, CA ON MAY 29, 2017 GOING THE HIGHWAY SPEED LIMIT OF 65MPH, MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE WAS STRUGGLING TO GET UP A SMALL INCLINE WHEN THE MPH SUDDENLY DROPPED TO 30 AND I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO GO ANY FASTER. THE ROAD WAS PACKED WITH CARS AS IT WAS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. I HAD 3 CHILDREN IN MY CAR. WE BARELY MADE IT OVER TO THE SHOULDER WHEN THE CAR COMPLETELY WENT DEAD. IT WAS ABSOLUTE SHEER LUCK THAT THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. CARS WERE SWERVING ALL AROUND ME TO AVOID HITTING ME. I WAS IN THE FAR LEFT LANE AND HAD TO CROSS OVER 2 OTHER LANES (GOING 30 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY) TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. MY CAR IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND HAS 85,000 MILES ON IT. MY DEALER SAID "THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM IS COMMON" WITH THIS MODEL. I GOOGLED "2013 ROGUE CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS" AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS: THIS HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO HAPPEN ON SURFACE ROADS. THIS IS VERY, VERY DANGEROUS. THE COMPANY WAS BESIEGED WITH CVT COMPLAINTS AND FIXED THEIR 2010 AND 2011 MODELS, BUT THIS PROBLEM IS STILL HAPPENING WITH ALL SUBSEQUENT ROGUE MODELS. I WAS MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY GOING ~50 MPH. WENT TO ACCELERATE AND THE ACCELERATER DID NOT SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME TENSION. THEN ALL LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH (CHECK ENGINE, OIL, BATTERY ETC) THEN THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION. PULLED TO THE SHOULDER, TURNED THE CAR OFF, BACK ON AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON, BUT NOT ACTIVE AS I WAS MERGING, AND SPORT MODE WAS ON. SINCE THE INCIDENT WHEN ON CRUISE CONTROL I WILL FEEL THE TRANSMISSION 'SLIP' FROM TIME TO TIME AS WELL. I AM HAVING THE SAME CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES AS A LOT OF PEOPLE. IT OVERHEATS WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE FOR LONGER THAN 45 MINUTES ON A WARM DAY AND THE VEHICLE BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE AND CAN'T ACCELERATE PAST 40 MPH. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AND HAS LEFT MY FAMILY AND I STRANDED ON THE INTERSTATE A FEW TIMES NOW. I CAN'T TRUST THIS VEHICLE AT ALL AND FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. NISSAN CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WHEN THEY HOOK IT UP TO THE COMPUTER BECAUSE THERE IS NO CODE ERROR AT THIS POINT AND IT WON'T DO IT WHEN THE DEALERSHIP IS JUST CRUISING AROUND TOWN FOR 15 MINUTES (SURPRISE SURPRISE AND A VERY CONVENIENT ISSUE FOR NISSAN). I RECENTLY BOUGHT MY ROGUE AT THE AUTO NATION NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN MARIETTA. I BEGAN MY FIRST LONG DISTANCE TRIP BACK HOME ON THE HWY AND THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE SPEED. I HAD TO STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE TO PROPERLY ASSESS THE SITUATION. FIGURED IT COULD HAVE BEEN JUST A FLUKE, BEGAN TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD AND WITH MY FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE FLOOR, THE CAR WOULD BARELY RUN. CALLED NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SUGGESTS THAT I TURN MY CAR OFF AND LET IT SIT BECAUSE IT'S OVERHEATING DUE TO GA WEATHER. NOW, IT IS HOT, BUT THERE ARE MILLIONS OF CARS IN GA THAT DON'T HAVE TO SIT EVERY HOUR YOU'RE ON THE ROAD. HE SAID AFTER THEN, TO JUST DRIVE ON THE HWY AT ABOUT 60MPH. SIR THIS IS THE INTERSTATE. THIS 2013 NISSAN ROGUE LOST ACCELERATION COMPLETELY WHEN ON A SLIGHT HILL/INCLINE. SPEED WENT FROM 60MPH TO 30MPH IN SECONDS, NEARLY CAUSING A COLLISION WITH A BIG RIG TRUCK ON MY SIDE AND A LARGE VEHICLE COMING UP BEHIND. THE GAS PEDAL WAS COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESULT IN ACCELERATION. WHEN ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, I HAD TO POWER DOWN VEHICLE COMPLETELY. I OPENED THE HOOD (HOPING TO COOL THE POTENTIALLY HOT ENGINE TO RESOLVE) AND RESTART. I HAD TO RESTART A COUPLE TIMES TO GET THE CAR TO RECOGNIZE BEING IN "GEAR." THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT, NOTHING. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENT ON OIL CHANGES, ETC. THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE CAUSED BODILY HARM OR INJURY HAD I NOT BEEN ABLE TO SAFELY GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, ESPECIALLY SINCE WE WERE ON A HILL AND EVERYONE IS TRYING TO MAINTAIN MOMENTUM BEHIND ME ON A TWO LANE ROAD. LUCKY AGAIN TURNED ON HAZARD LIGHTS AVOIDED NEAR COLLISON PULLED OVER ON SHOULDER, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED.TWENTY MINUTES LATER TURNED CAR ON AND CONTINUED TRAVELING. THIRD INCIDENT: EXACTLY THE SAME AS SECOND INCIDENT ONLY HAPPENED ON THE WAY HOME ON MAY 4TH 2015. FOURTH INCIDENT: JUNE 12 2015 WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY IN A MOUNTAINOUS REGION DRIVING AT 50MPH CAR AGAIN LOST ALL ENIGN POWER(SEE ABOVE INCIDENTS)WITH SAME RESULTS.DURING ALL INCIDENTS THE WEATHER WAS HOT TEMPERATURE WAS AT LEAST 90 DEGREES. I FEEL EXACTLY LIKE SOMETHING IS SLIPPING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO PASS ANY CAR BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF I HAVE ANY POWER RESERVE AVAILABLE. AT THE HIGH RPM THE ENGINE IS ALSO USING A LOT OF FUEL. MY WIFE AND I ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THEY ARE REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM.
