The airbag light comes on for no reasons and after spending the money to test it, the mechanics suggested multiple defects (clock spring, module, etc). There is no hit or anything and yet it just becomes faulty.
Was traveling down the road the curtain air bags deployed and filled car with smoke so badly driver couldn’t see and caused him to wreck in a creek it totaled the vehicle and progressive insurance had co-part to pick it up there was no warning that the air bags were going to deploy
Upon starting the car the airbag, seatbelt light came on and will not go off.
The driver's side curtain airbags deployed prematurely while shutting the driver's side door
Airbag warning light on dashboard is blinking. After troubleshooting and running Nissan Diagnostics, Nissan dealer repair technicians cannot determine which airbag sensor has failed or in question. Potential risk is unknown.
It started when I purchased it in February 2025 Mileage was 99200 I noticed the seatbelt warning signs didn’t ding if I didn’t have my seatbelt on. And the sunroof not only was leaking but it is coming apart where it is held in place I’m afraid it will suddenly come down and strike me without notice while driving. Theee days ago I noticed the airbag light came on while I had the driver assist engaged so I stopped and turned the driver assistance light on and then off which caused the airbag light to turn off . But today with 1100 miles on the vehicle I was driving and the light. Came on as I was driving again. I tried turning off the drivers assistance button but the light stays on!!! I’m concerned about the safety while driving with the airbag light, the seatbelt not signaling when the seatbelt is not on it ding to remind me that someone doesn’t have their seat belt on. At lastly , I believe that I am going to be injured by the sunroof motor fulling down while I am driving causing a car wreck and or injuring me or a passenger. The OCS system in the 2015 model needs to be fixed before serious injury occurs.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light was illuminated and blinking. The contact called the independent mechanic where the vehicle was purchased and was informed that the vehicle needed to be serviced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the air bags were missing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 113,615.

My Car's Driver side air bag sign is on and took it to the Nissan dealer for diagnostic and was told the car seatback needs to be replaced as the airbag is not working. the technician was surprised that this part of the car needed replacement. this car has clean title no accidents and one owner. contacted nissan consumer affairs but they would not help in this issue. the component was never inspected just a diagnostic was done.
Airbag warning lights consistently flashing on and off. I was told it was a seat belt sensor or issue. Safety related. I know you have other rogues are on the recall list fir this same year however mine does not come up. This us so frustrating as to the rates your dealerships charge. Please advise on the highly safety issue. I want to feel safe in my suv again
Airbag warning light for front passenger seat on permenently.
Airbag warning on dash display. Driver side airbag dtc, replaced airbag and clock spring from nissan oem at local shop.
I got into a car accident where the airbags didn't go off. I have the airbag light now on in the car and the diagnostics is something with the transmission.
The airbag sensor warning light remains constantly on once the car has been started. Yes the vehicle is available for inspection. I have taken it to the local dealership for repair and after 2 different visits have told me that they don't know exactly what is wrong and that I need to come back and pay another $1600 after the original $600 I already spent to have 2 different parts replaced and they will next replace two others and hope it solves the problem. I do not know if my car is safe and if my airbags will deploy when appropriate and not when it is not appropriate. The main problem is that they don't know why the sensor is constantly on and just keep "Trying" to replace things and hope it is fixed. I do not feel comfortable with hoping they are right when they can't tell me what is wrong. There has been no issues yet but not having your airbag sensor work properly is a significant problem. No police or other agency has looked at the car only the local dealership. I have contacted Nissan but they have not given me any answers except that they have noted my concerns and within my case. They need to be able to tell me if my vehicle is 100% safe to drive. If they can accurately diagnosis the cause, I don't feel they can assure me that everything is okay and safe. My second visit there (6/24/2024) They have replaced the drivers door satelite sensor and found DTC to still be present and will not clear. Now they recommend replacing drivers door harness and airbag control unit. The first visit (5/18/2024) they stated they found DTC 80093 for left hand sensor . they removed the left hand lower b-pillar cover to inspect sensor and wiring was in good condition. Per esm 1st tep is replacing the left had satelite sensor. It has been a month and I still don't know if my car is safe to drive and that the airbags will work, other than the dealership saying it will likely work. But come back and spend $1600 more and hopefully it will work.
I have 2015 Nissan Rouge Select for almost 9 year and I haven’t get in any accident with this car . But my air bag light keep turn off twice within a year . Last year it happened on driver side , I replaced it at dealership and the same issue happened just 10 months later . The passenger air bag is off this time . But the dealership said the reason that I can’t accept it. First the mechanic guy told me that the car is old and the way how we drive with the shaking on the road affect airbag wire and sensor . That’s unacceptable because we have an older car than this 2015 Nissan but it never have air bag problem . While we talk with their supervisor to see if there is any recall we miss and what cause the airbag keep going off , he said one thing made me could not believe that the manufacturer would not test the air bag before selling . Is it mean that i bought this Nissan car and I put my self and my family safety under risk while we are on the road ? …...and recently the car transmission failed….
Airbag warning light suddenly started flashing(on/off) constantly, regardless if anyone or any item is in passenger seat. After attempting to reset to no avail, taken to dealer for inspection. Dealer listed code b00a0-02(Occupant Sensor). Dealer stated only fix is to replace entire seat frame as the sensor is built into seat frame. Dealer stated failure to replace can cause airbag to activate inadvertently, or not activate when in a crash. The vehicle has never been involved in a crash.
I was traveling east bound and trash collection truck was parked on the shoulder facing east. I could not see the truck because of the position of the sun, and when I did see the parked trash truck, I swerved to miss it but struck the left rear of the parked trash truck with the right front of my vehicle going 35mph. Air bags did not deploy nor did the seat belt lock. I was tranferred to the hospital and sustained 4 broken ribs and an abrasion on my right elbow. Police department and EMS did see that air bags did not deploy. Police report shows code for the air bag and seat belt malfunctions. No warning messages etc of any kind showed up.
There is a recall for the airbag light coming on the dashboard. Took the car to the dealership to get the car looked at, was informed their is a recall for the airbag light. Was told it was fixed, a week later the light came back on. Went back to dealership, this time they said it would need a new driver side seat and electrical panel replaced to be repaired correctly and to know 100 % the driver side airbag works correctly. Nissan won't cover it because those aren't the current parts to fix it. I don't understand, the dealership tried twice to fix the problem with the standard parts that are allotted in the recall and it didn't work, now it needs to be fixed properly. I have a Nissan with a safety recall issue that Nissan refuses to cover the cost to fix it. It is very unsafe, dangerous and life threatening to have a vehicle with no working driver side airbag. We bought this car for our 16 year old son, only to have a severe safety violation in the car that won't get fix properly by the manufacturer. What if he is in a front on collision and the airbag doesn't work? Heaven forbid he get critically injured or even die from it. What does it take for Nissan to do the right thing and properly fix the recall. In the meantime our son isn't allowed to drive his new car much and not far from the house. How would they feel if it were their teenager in a car with no driver side airbag and the company with a recall refused to fix it correctly. I guess our son's life doesn't matter to anyone but us. All we want is for the recall to be fixed correctly ( which we knew nothing about) which is correctly working airbags. How would you feel? Hello, I bought my Nissan Rogue in 2015 and I’m the original owner. I had parked my car at Lowe’s and upon returning from store, my dashboard showed the Air bag alert sign that didn’t go away and remains turned ON my driver-side dashboard. I wasn’t in an accident or didn’t have other issues, and car was simply just parked when alert popped up and remained ON. VIN# [XXX] . Nissan dealership staff charges for such repairs but I feel this should be covered under warranty as it’s a major safety issue. Can your team please help me. Thank you. My airbag sensor started flashing for no reason. With estimated repairs at $6000, I don’t understand why there isn’t a recall. I see that this is an ongoing problem for Rogues/Rogue Selects.
Passenger seat occupant sensor co troller and drivers side rear airbag failed and need to be replaced. Airbag light remained on and faults diagnosed by Nissan service. Failed sensors mean airbag likely May not deploy in the event of impact. Found article that there was a recall on this for this vehicle in 2016 but this sites say no recall. This is over $6000 in repairs for product failure
The occupant t sensor (OCS) is faulty, and keeps flashing nonstop for months. My passengers are unsafe. The dealer confirms the problem wants to charge $1,500, but I see it is a recurring problem. However, even though my vehicle is within the range of vehicles recalled (Rogue 2014 through 2017), my vin # is not showing a recall, and I would like to know why it was not included - as it should be. Please be advised that it might have to do with the model designation as "Rogue Select" instead of "Rogue". The Rogue Select is essentially the same vehicle as the 2014 Rogue , they just renamed it adding "Select" when they introduced the new design in 2015 because they could not have two vehicles with the same name. Please investigate.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was flashing on the instrument panel upon starting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a diagnostic test was performed. The contact was informed that the clockspring was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under recall or warranty. The contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

Front passenger seat airbag sensors failed. Airbag light continues to stay on. Dealer rest and sensors failed again several days later. Dealer estimated $6,000+ for repair.
Drove my car normally to work and home that day. Upon starting it up in the evening, the red airbag light turned on and began flashing as soon as the key was in the ignition. I read the manual, tried to reset the warning light by unhooking the battery. Airbag light continues to flash on the drivers side. The owners' manual says this means the airbag is faulty and will not deploy in a crash. This vehicle has NEVER had the airbags deploy or been in a crash significant enough for the airbags to deploy. I called the local dealership on 2/16/23 and they reported no recalls. They said it is probably a sensor not under warranty and repairs would be $2000. I do not have the money to have this repaired. My life safety is at risk.
The airbag light comes on in the car screen, it was taken for inspection, as stated in the attached invoice and they told us that the entire airbag system had to be changed, it should be noted that the vehicle has never had no accident and we are worried because if we were to have an accident the airbags would not work. Thanks for your help.
Driver Airbag light started flashing. According to the vehicle manufacturer's manual, this indicator means the drivers' airbag will NOT deploy. The battery was unplugged and left in an attempt to reset. When key turned in ignition, the airbag light immediately started flashing again. I am the only owner of this vehicle. I bought it brand new and it has never been in an accident where the airbags have deployed. The vehicle has been garage kept for the duration of my ownership. I have not had any water damage, and I have not had any other electrical issues so far.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for routine maintenance and the mechanic found a failure with the occupant restraint system. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty or recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V911000 (Air Bags). The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

The passenger airbag is faulty, the airbag will now not deploy in the case of a collision. Initially before the airbag light was on, the sensor would classify the seat as empty when it wasn't, similar to one of the existing recalls Nissan has on Rogues, that this VIN is not included in. Now it has progressed where the SRS air bag light flickers on regardless of resetting it. This is a safety hazard for my dogs and spouse that go on the passenger front seat.
Air bag light blinking on dashboard and no accident involved.
My horn stopped working and my airbag light came on. Now I don’t know if my airbag is going to randomly deploy. The dealership wants more than $600 to fix this faulty part and there are several forums suggesting that this is a known problem. How can a single mother keep herself and her teen driver’s safe while driving this car?
Front passenger seat cushion. front seat passenger occupant classification system may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. -was not in an accident but I had a diagnostic done. There was a recall for my year car but my VIN was not attached.
My Airbag sensor light is flashing and I took it to Nissan alhambra. They stated that the ECU and OCS sensor is defected and needs to be replaced. However they can attempt to repair it for 1,890 but it may or may not fix the issue and by tampering with it may cause airbags to deploy and cause bigger problem. It's very unfortunate that I took it to the dealer and they were not able to help. According to KBB and Nhtsa my 2015 nissan rogue is one of the models that have been recalled. I am driving a Nissan and uncertain if my airbags will protect me in an emergency.
UNKNOWN, air bag light keeps flashing
Airbag light flashing. When taken to jiffy lube for oil change I was advised to contact you
About 3 months ago. Clock spring had to be replaced. Have receipts. After having this done I asked some mechanics every one said extremely rare. Please inform!
The airbag light turns on despite not having a passenger seated or anything on the seat. I’ve never gotten into a crash either and when I took my car to Jiffy Lube to run a diagnostic the code B0020 past came up. From what I read online this is a common sensor issue. Nissan should do a recall and fix this.
Airbag warning light came on Nissan check the problem and stated the vehicle needs a left front seat back also stated airbags will not work until the part is replaced.( Airbag is defective)
Passenger seat is intermittently not registering that someone is sitting in the seat. Airbag light flashes however dealership has no idea why. Invoice says "spiral cable had a open in the windings causing code to set" On going issues with airbag sensors.
While driving on I-95, my Nissan Rogue Select 2015 was cruising at the speed limit of 70 mph when, all of a sudden, the speed had begun to drop to 65-50 mph. I pressed the gas pedal to accelerate, but the car wouldn't go past 65mph. Over a period of time, I began to hear a strange high pitch whining sound. Later, the speed had dropped as low as 40 mph, I switched lanes, and stopped on the shoulder of the highway. As I parked my car, I smelled the odor of the transmission fluid. As I parked, I began to read up about the transmission issue on the owner's manual as well as online. I later found out that the transmission, CVT transmission, had entered a mode called, "limp-mode" wherein the car limits the speed to a safe driving speed (this case it was 65mph) in order to prevent a transmission overheat. Not to mention, I noticed that my Rogue dashboard shows an air bag light flashing, something that happened recently. My family and I almost got into an accident with the transmission on limp mode. A recent bulletin from Nissan stated the issue with the CVT transmission. We had gone to Valvoline and they said that the transmission needed a tune-up. No lamps or indicators showed that the transmission was in limp-mode. The only lamp that was flashing was for the air bag ( there was a recall about that.)
STEERING FELT FUNNY AND WOULD NOT STAY IN LINE. THIS WAS NOTICED BY MULTIPLE DRIVERS. TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO SUTHERLIN NISSAN OF FORT MYERS, THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BROKEN STEERING COLUMN AND REPLACED IT. DURING REPLACEMENT CUSTOMER WAS INFORMED THAT A SCREW WAS LOOSE ON THE AIRBAG AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS 50 XXX MILES ON IT AND HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN ON FLORIDA ROADS. CUSTOMER PRIMARILY USES BACK AND FORTH IN TOWN ON SHORT TRIPS < 15 MILES.

2015 NISSAN ROGUE SLIGHTLY OVER 5 YEARS OLD, LESS THAN 60K MILEAGE. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN HIT OR INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT. AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. DIAGNOSED BY NISSAN DEALERSHIP AS REPLACEMENT REQUIRED AT OWNERS EXPENSE. THE AIR BAGS SHOULD NOT BE FAILING ON A LIGHTLY USED VEHICLE MODESTLY OVER 5 YEARS OLD THAT HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE.
THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS SUDDENLY DEPLOYED WHILE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A STRAIGHT, FLAT ROAD. THE POLICE WERE CALLED BUT UNABLE TO MAKE A REPORT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO COLLISION OR DAMAGE. THE AIR BAGS WERE CUT OFF FOR VISIBILITY SO THE CAR COULD BE DRIVEN HOME.
YELLOW PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.

DURING VEHICLE INSPECTION, NISSAN DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED PROBLEM WITH FLASHING PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. TECHNICIAN FOUND DTC P1564, B0001, B0002 AND RECOMMENDED REPLACING AIRBAG MODULE AND SPIRAL CABLE. DURING MULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, MANUFACTURER IS DENYING RESPONSIBILITY FOR DEFECT OF FACTORY INSTALL ISSUE. SUPERVISOR LINDSAY APPEARED TO LINK LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY TO DRIVE TRAIN, AS IF STANDARD IS THAT SAFETY IS NO LONGER A CONCERN IF VEHICLE 5 YEARS OLD HAS TRAVELLED 100,000 MILES DESPITE AIRBAG NEVER BEING DEPLOYED. THIS IS NOT A 'WEAR AND TEAR' ISSUE AND NISSAN IS REFUSING TO CONSIDERED THAT THIS VIN WAS MISSED IN RECALL ANNOUNCED PREVIOUSLY. SEEKING REPAIR TO BE COVERED BY NISSAN AND MANAGED BY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. THANK YOU

OUR 2015 ROGUE HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY MAINTAINED BY THE SAME NISSAN DEALERSHIP SINCE OUR FAMILY PURCHASED IT. IN JUNE 2020 THE AIR BAG DASH LIGHT CAME ON. IT BLINKS WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR DEALERSHIP AND HAD SOME TESTS DONE, AND ON THE ADVICE OF THE TECHNICIANS REPLACED A PART (STEP ONE IN THE REPAIR PROCESS). THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE, AS THE LIGHT CONTINUED TO BLINK, BUT GAVE NO ERROR CODES. WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE AIR BAG MAY NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY, AND DRIVING THE VEHICLE MAY NOT BE SAFE. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON JUNE 19. I WAS ASSIGNED A REPRESENTATIVE WHO ASSURED ME SHE WOULD WORK WITH ME TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER, AND MY DEALERSHIP STARTED COMMUNICATION WITH NISSAN TECHLINE. THEY HAD SOME RECOMMENDATIONS, BUT NO SOLUTIONS. THE MOSTLY LIKELY ISSUE IN THEIR ESTIMATION IS A FAULTY OCS. I FORWARDED THE TECHLINE RECOMMENDATION TO MY REPRESENTATIVE, BUT SHE HAD NOT RESPONDED TO NUMEROUS CONTACT ATTEMPTS. THE DEALERSHIP TRIED ALMOST DAILY TO CONNECT WITH HER DEPARTMENT, BUT ALSO RECEIVED NO REPLY. THE FAULTY OCS APPEARS TO A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN VEHICLES, AND WAS CAUSE FOR AT LEAST 3 RECALLS. AFTER CHECKING MY VIN, NO ACTIVE RECALLS ARE APPARENT, BUT THIS IS AN IMPORTANT HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED.

MY CAR WAS IN MOTION WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN I REALIZED MY CAR WAS LOSING POWER WHILE I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE. MY CAR DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BUT IT DROPPED FROM 70 MPH DOWN TO 30 MPH GRADUALLY. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MOVE MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALL FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. WEEKS BEFORE I NOTICED MY RPM HAND JUMPING ERRATICALLY AND WHEN I WENT TO GET TO DIAGNOSTICS NO ONE COULD FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO NISSAN ON THE DAY THAT I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND I LOST ACCELERATION. I WAS INFORMED BY SEVERAL MECHANICS THAT IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION AND THAT NISSAN HAS AN ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSIONS AND IT WASN'T WORTH THE MONEY TO BE REPLACED.

THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON MY DASH JUST RANDOMLY POPPED UP ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO AND HAS REMAINED THAT WAY SINCE. OF COURSE THIS LIGHT IS ONLY VISIBLE WHEN THE ONCE U TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION.
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOT WORKING, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG RED LIGHT COMES SINCE FEB 01 2016.
DRIVER AIRBAG REGISTERS AN ERROR CODE. NISSAN COULD NOT TELL ME WHY AND WANTED $650 MORE TO 'TRY' TO DIAGNOSE IT WITH NO GUARANTEE.
ORIGINAL RECALL PERFORMED BY LOCAL DEALERSHIP DID NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM. NHTSA RECALL 16V-244, OCS PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. IT USUALLY OCCURS WHEN PASSENGER SITS ON SEAT AFTER CAR IS STARTED. I HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SIX TIMES IN THE FIRST YEAR AFTER THE RECALL. I BRING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE ANNUALLY FOR INSPECTION AND OIL CHANGES. THEY ASK IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE AND I TELL THEM THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT STILL STAYS ON. I'LL PICK UP VEHICLE LATER AND THEY SAY NO TROUBLE FOUND. I HAVE VIDEOS (THAT'S PLURAL) OF MY WIFE SITTING IN THE SEAT WITH THE LIGHT ON AND US DRIVING. I CAN SEND THOSE IF YOU WANT THEM. THE LAST TIME I HAD IT FOR SERVICE THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN DRIVE STRAIGHT UP TO DEALERSHIP. UHH, MY WIFE WOULD BE UNPROTECTED. WHEN IT DOES OCCUR, I PULL THE VEHICLE OVER, SHUT OFF AND START UP.

I TURNED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT TO LESSEN THE BLOW. MY DAMAGE WAS ALL OF THE FRONT BUMPER, HOOD, BUSTED RADIATOR, PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, FRONT RIGHT WHEEL, PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR. GLASS WAS ON THE DASHBOARD FROM SOMETHING. I'M NOT SURE ABOUT ANY MECHANICAL ISSUES YET ALTHOUGH I'M SURE THERE WILL BE MANY. I HAD WARNINGS GOING OFF AL IN THE CAR. I WAS INJURED IN MY CHEST, STERNUM, NECK AND SHOULDERS. I WAS THROWN FORWARD AND BACK AND TO THE SIDE VIOLENTLY. I CANNOT BELIEVE NONE OF MY AIRBAGS WENT OFF. I COULD NOT BREATHE AND WAS VERY SCARED. I WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND AM STILL HEALING FROM THIS. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IF MY STERNUM OR RIB HAD OF BROKE OR PUNCTURED SOMETHING. WHEN THE SAFETY RECALL CAME OUT IN 2016 I HAD IT FIXED , WELL AGAIN A FEW MONTHS ATER IT ATOPPING WORKED AND THE DEALERSHIP CLAIM THE FIRST ONE DID IT WRONG SO I FIXED THE RECALL ISSUE WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAGS AGAIN. NOW FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS IT NOT WORKING THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON ON MY DASH BOARD AND THE DEALERS WANT TO CHARGE ME 119 TO LOOK AT IT PLUS REPAIRS I REFUSE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING WAS THAT WAS NOT FIXED RIGHT EITHER TIME. I HAVE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE OF A NON WORKING MALFUNCTION PASSENGER AIRBAG, THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON IT AND THEY CLAIMED THEY FIXED IT TWICE. MY PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOT TURNING ON WHEN SOMEONE IS IN THE SEAT. I CANNOT HAVE SOMEONE SIT IN THE FRONT BECAUSE OF THIS AND NISSAN IS NOT FIXING THE ISSUE. THEY CLAIM TOO AND THEN IT BREAKS AGAIN. CAN YOU HELP ME GET THIS FIXED RIGHT OR MAKE THEM GIVE ME A NEW VEHICLE UNDER LEMON LAW.
EVEN THOUGH THE REPROGRAMMING RECALL WORK FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS PERFORMED AT MY NISSAN DEALER ON 6/20/16, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DISABLED LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY STAYS ON WHILE MY WIFE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT AND I AM DRIVING (CAR IS IN MOTION). SHE WEIGHS APPROX 125 LBS.
ROUGE HAD RECALL WORK ON AIRBAG SENSOR DONE IN 2016. HOWEVER OVER THE PAST MONTH OR SO, THE OFF INDICATOR FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN LIT WHEN A PASSENGER OF 130 LBS HAS BEEN IN THE SET AT LEAST 4 DIFFERENT TIMES. ONCE THE OFF INDICATOR LIGHT WENT OFF AFTER 1/4 MILE OF DRIVING. THE OTHER TIMES, I HAD TO STOP THE VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING FOR LONGER DISTANCES, TURN IT OFF AND RESTART TO GET THE OFF INDICATOR TO GO OFF. ONCE THE PASSENGER HAD TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE WHILE I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IN ORDER FOR LIGHT TO GO OFF WHEN THEY SAT BACK DOWN. TOOK TO NISSAN DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY RELEASED THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT TRUST THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY WHEN NEEDED SO I AM LOOKING TO TRADE THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO PROTECT MY PASSENGER.....WHICH DOES NOTHING TO PROTECT ANYONE IN THE FUTURE WHO RIDES IN THIS VEHICLE. I AM NOT SURE OF WHAT THE AIRBAG RECALL LAST YEAR ACCOMPLISHED OR WHY NISSAN IS IGNORING THE COMPLAINTS SINCE THE RECALL WHEN THE RECALL STATED THE OCS SENSOR MAY BE FAULTY ON 3.2 MILLION VEHICLES. EVIDENTLY THE OCS SENSOR IS STILL FAULTY BUT THE DEALER EXPECTS ME TO DRIVE IT LIKE THIS.

ISSUE WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT ON A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. THE ISSUE IS THAT A FULL-SIZE ADULT (150 AND 240 POUNDS) CAN BE IN THE SEAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR INDICATES THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OFF. THERE IS NO AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THE COMPUTER AND AIRBAG SYSTEM HAS BEEN FLASHED, BUT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SINCE THEN THE DEALSHIP HAS PUSHED ME OFF, EVEN WITH PHOTOS AND EVIDENCE OF THIS HAPPENING. I HAVE THREATEN THEM WITH A LAWSUIT BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT LOOK FURTHER IN TO IT, IF THE AIRBAG DOES NOT DEPLOY WHEN A FULL-SIZE ADULT IS IN THE SEAT. I WILL BE TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP THIS WEEK, BECAUSE THIS ISSUE IS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. I AM CURRENTLY AN PURSUING AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEGREE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEIR RESOURCES TO I FIND SOMEONE WHO WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE ONLY RESOLUTION FOR THIS ISSUE, WHEN IT HAPPENS, IS TO PARK THE CAR AND TURN IT OFF, LET IT SIT, AND TURN THE CAR BACK ON TO SEE IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON OR NOT. THE CAR HAS CURRENTLY 43,068 MILES AND IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. ALSO ALL RECALLS AND MAINTENANCE IS COMPLETED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I'VE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH SEAT BELT LIGHT IN THE DASH SAYS THAT SOMEONE IS UN-BUCKLED WHILE EVERYONE IN THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY BUCCKLED, AND HAS BEEN BUCKLED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A DEER. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT AND THEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

THE AIR BAG LIGHT SOMETIMES SAYS ON SHOWING IT IS OFF EVEN WITH MY WIFE SEATING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT EVERY SO OFTEN. THE RECALL HAS BEEN DONE ON IT BUT STILL HAPPENS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. I HAVE HAD IT AT TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. IT HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED THREE TIMES TO CHECK IT OUT AND ALWAYS CHECKS OUT OK. MY WIFE WEIGHTS 170 POUNDS SO IT IS NOT A WEIGHT PROBLEM. ONE DEALER SAYS THAT IS WORKING FINE AND WHEN IT HAPPENS JUST SHUT CAR DOWN AND RESTART. WHAT ABOUT THE TIMES WE MAY NOT NOTICE THAT IT IS ON AND HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND HAVE NO AIR BAG PROTECTION IS WHAT I TOLD HIM AND NO ANSWER FROM HIM. ANOTHER DEALER JUST SAID IT CHECKS OUT OK AND NOTHING ELSE WE CAN DO. I CALLED ANOTHER DEALER WHICH SAID THAT THE AIR BAGS ARE SET FOR 160 POUNDS PER THE NHSTA REGULATIONS SO WE ARE TOO CLOSE TO THE LIMIT. I CALLED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GOT SOMEONE WHO SAID YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED AGAIN. I WILL DO IT BUT IT WILL CHECK OUT OK AS ALWAYS. MY DAUGHTER HAS A 2014 NISSAN ROUGE SV AND IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO HER TOO. WHEN WE NOTICE THE LIGHT ON MOST OF THE TIME IT WAS ALWAYS IN MOTION BUT ALSO RIGHT AFTER SHE SAT IN THE SEAT BEFORE WE STARTED DRIVING AND THEN STILL STAYED ON WHEN WE DROVE AWAY. FROM WHAT I READ ON LINE THEIR IS LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THEY CANT SEEM TO GET FIXED BY THE DEALER OR NISSAN THEMSELVES NOT HELPING THEM EITHER. IT STARTED ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF 2015 AND DEALERS WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL THE RECALL CAME OUT. WE NOW HAVE 39000 MILES AND TODAYS DATE OF 05/9/2017 AND STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG OFF WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHILE THE SEAT WAS BEING OCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS WERE ROLLED UP OR DOWN, THE WINDOWS HESITATED TO OPERATE AND AN ABNORMAL CLICKING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000.

NHTSA RECALL 16V-244. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE IN TO HAVE THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM SOFTWARE REPROGRAMMED. SINCE THE REPROGRAMMING, THE OCS LIGHT HAS COME ON WHILE A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MARCH 3 2017 TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WE WERE TOLD NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND SUGGESTS TO LATCH THE BELT BEFORE STARTING THE VEHICLE. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON, RESTART THE VEHICLE TO TURN THE LIGHT OUT. NISSAN SAYS NO NEW CORRECTION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID NISSAN PROBABLY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL THERE IS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH. THE SERVICE WRITER ALSO SAID THE PROBLEM IS IN THE LIGHT AND THAT THE AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY. WHY SHOULD CONSUMERS HAVE TO INITIATE A QUICK FIX BY BUCKLING SEAT BELTS BEFORE STARTING AND HAVING TO RESTART IF THE LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT. HOW ARE CONSUMERS TO BELIEVE THAT MAYBE THE AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION THAT NISSAN SEEMS UNWILLING TO RESOLVE LONG TURN.

THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON MY DASH IS ON AND NISSAN REFUSES TO LOOK INTO WHY IT IS ON OR IF THERE IS A FAUTLY AIRBAG UNLESS I PAY THEM TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND THEN PAY THEM TO FIX THE ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFTEY CONCERN,
I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT WITH $12,863 WORTH OF DAMAGED TO THE FRONT OF MY CAR. DRIVER AIR BAG DID NOT GO OFF..I HIT THE STERRING WHEEL SO HARD THAT I FRACTURED A RIB AND A SWOLLEN CHEST INSIDE AND OUT..ABOUT 8 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG BUT I AM THINKING THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SHOULD BE CHECKED AS WELL. I WAS GOING THRU A GREEN LIGHT ON A CITY STREET AND A LADY RAN THE RED LIGHT COMING FROM THE OTHER WAY. I BRAKED AND LAID ON THE HORN WHEN I SAW HER COMING OUT AND SWERVED MY CAR BUT COULDN'T AVOID HER. FIRST IT WAS A NO FAULT BUT THEN SHE WAS PROVEN TO GO THRU THE RED LIGHT. LUCKY I HAD MY SEATBELT ON BUT THAT DIDN'T EVEN STOP ME FROM HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL HARD!!

BEGINNING IN JULY I BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT IT WAS OFF WHEN IT SHOULD BE ON AND ON WHEN IT SHOULD BE OFF IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND MULTIPLE SOURCES HAVE LOOKED AT IT BUT CONTINUE TO BLAME MYSELF AND FAMILY. I HAVE PICTORIAL EVIDENCE TO SHOW PEOPLE SITTING IN THE SEAT IN THE AIRBAG IS OFF AND PICTORIAL EVIDENCE SHOWING THAT THE AIRBAG SHOULD BE ON. IT'S BEEN "REPAIRED" MULTIPLE TIMES TO NO SUCCESS. *TR

PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON EITHER WHILE DRIVING WITH PASSENGER IN FRONT SEAT. SHE IS 5'4" & 200LBS. I HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES, & LAST TIME THEY HAD IT FOR 6 DAYS & COULD NOR REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ON A 1500 MILE TRIP TO FL FROM MA, IT HAPPENED 4 TIMES, & ONCE WITH ME IN THE PASSENGER SEAT (I AM 5'6" & 260 LBS) DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE SENSORS OR COMPUTER UNTIL IT SEES THE ERROR. WHAT DO I DO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE? I AM DUE TO RETURN TO MA THIS SUNDAY, DOES MY WIFE SIT IN THE REAR SEAT? THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 25 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. *TR

ALTHOUGH THIS ISSUE IS IDENTIFIED FOR CERTAIN 2015 ROGUES, MINE IS NOT AMONG THEM, HOWEVER I AM EXPERIENCING THE FOLLOWING: THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM LIGHT IN THE DASH IS LIT UP WHETHER OR NOT AN OCCUPANT IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT STARTED TO COME ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED AND EMPTY AND NOW IT STAYS ON CONTINUOUSLY ONCE THE ENGINE IS STARTED.

THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS TURNED OFF WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT ALSO IS LIT WHEN THE SEAT IS EMPTY OF PEOPLE OR CARGO.
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

AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT/FRONT PASSENGERS SEAT COMES ON INDICATING IT'S NOT ACTIVATED WITH A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. DEALERS SAYS IT IS DUE TO NISSAN'S NEW DESIGN AND TO HAVE THE PASSENGER (MY WIFE) SIT WITH HER BUTT AGAINST THE BACK OF THE SEAT, LEGS STRAIGHT OUT IN FRONT OF HER WITH FEET ON THE FLOOR. THAT'S THE FIX ? WELL, IT DOESN'T WORK. NISSAN NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT OR BUY THE CAR BACK DUE TO FAULTY EQUIPMENT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH LIVES IN JEOPARDY.

THE INACTIVE PASSENGER'S AIRBAG WHICH INDICATES THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DISABLED STAYS ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN AN ADULT SITS IN THE SEAT. THIS IS INTERMITTENT. SOMETIMES RESTARTING THE CAR WILL NO OTHER CHANGES WILL FIX THE ISSUE (THE LIGHT STOPS BEING ILLUMINATED). I HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER THIS RELATES TO THE AIRBAG ITSELF, THE SENSOR, OR THE LIGHT. *JS
