My vehicle began to lose acceleration while driving on a busy highway in NJ. I was able to get off the road and proceeded to drive on side streets. I was temporarily unable to move after stopping at stop sign. Eventually I was able to get the vehicle home. I brought my car to my mechanic. It was established that is was the transmission (CVT). It needed to be replaced.

Dec 26, 2023

Upon driving the vehicle on the freeway or highway at an accelerated speed, the hood shakes up and down rapidly, and appears as though it could potentially pop open. The hood is locked when driving and there have been no accidents on the vehicle. Nissan has had multiple recalls of their hood latch for the mid-size cars like the Altima and also the Pathfinder, but I believe the Rogue is also affected. I first noticed it in 2020, and it has been this way for a couple of years, and when I asked the dealerships, they told me there’s been no recall for the Nissan rogue so I had always thought it might be normal (albeit concerning); it wasn’t until this past May when a friend who worked at Nissan mentioned about the latch recalls for the other cars, that I decided to look into it. There is no recall for the Nissan rogue for the hood latch but I believe the 2016 Rogue is also affected by a faulty hood latch. The hood feels locked when parked, but upon driving on a freeway or at an accelerated MPH above 45/50, it seems as though a lot of air gets under the hood and forces it to shake up and down. It is very unsettling and seems like another common issue for 2016 Rogue drivers.

Mar 15, 2023

The front hood latch seems to be loose and the hood vibrates a lot on the interstate. I am afraid that it is going to open while travelling at high speeds on the freeway.

Driver side blows cold air: the plastic connected to the air mix motor control will damage over time and it's very expensive to replace the air box assembly. It's not safe to drive during winter.

There is a bulge in the drivers side door. Every body shop I have brought it to has never seen it nor can explain how it happened

Oct 13, 2022

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that the front driver’s side door trim panel had detached. Additionally, the contact stated that the molding surrounding the windshield was detaching. The contact stated that she was concerned that the windshield may detach while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that he could not determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V219000 (Structure) which she linked to the failure. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. I am experiencing the same issues stated in the recent recall. My battery is draining fast, there is corrosive liquid on the left front side of my recently purchased vehicle and there is a white residue on the front outer part of the car. There is also corrosive material on the front brake and on the metal parts of the connection to the front left tire.

We have a 2016 Nissan Rogue that is under the Recall ID. 22V-024. We have the water damage and that caused the wiring harness to malfunction. Nissan Dealership fixed the Harness problem but not fix the cause of this happening. We are getting water seeping up from the Drivers side floor. I Shop Vac and use a fan to dry it out but the water returns. On the recall letter from Nissan it states in Bold lettering #1 " Please stop driving your vehicle immediately and call Nissan." #2 "Park your vehicles outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures."By not fixing the root cause of the problem the harness will malfunction again which could lead to a fire inside the vehicle which is quite a safety issue. Nissan is aware of this problem but is refusing to fix the problem. Nissan Dealership had this vehicle in there possession for 5 weeks in July, 20222, into August, 2022,

Rear liftgate stays failed. Liftgate would not stay up. Would come down on head of unsuspecting person using the automatic liftgate. Even if held up, the liftgate would fail. There was no warning--the stays just stopped working. Vehicle has been repaired with new stays by dealer. Each stay cost $535.69 and there were two of them. Total parts and labor was $1246.38.

Jun 18, 2021

My rear lift gate does not stay in the up position when I open it. It comes crashing down on my head and it’s hit me in the head several times as the lift gate comes down so quickly and abruptly. It’s hit others as well and has hurt them. When the full weight of the lift gate comes down it’s heavy and it hurts. It’s not safe to open anymore. There was a recall issued by the NHTSA placed on the 2016 Rogue for the rear lift gate not staying open due to corrosive parts. Unfortunately my rogue was not included in the recall. My car was purchased in July and the recall was up to January 2016. I called Nissan and because I am out of warranty they will not evaluate at their cost or fix it if it’s the same issue as the recall. I have not had it evaluated as I wanted to reach out to the NHTSA first. There were no warning lights to alert me to this issue. One day it just happened coming down hard and striking me in the head. I was really hurt. I had a headache for the entire day and small bump on the back of my head. It was not serious enough to see a doctor but doesn’t change the fact that I got hurt I am very nervous that the next time I open it it won’t stop about halfway and the full weight of the lift gate will come crashing down on me or someone else and cause serious injury. Please consider adding my VIN number to the recall. It should included so that it can be evaluated at Nissan’s expense and fixed.

WHILE DRIVING PANORAMIC SUNROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT CAUSE. I WAS DRIVING ON 1604 2/14/2020 AT APPROX 4:30 PM IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON SMOOTH SURFACE WHEN THE SUNROOF BURST. NO DEBRIS WAS SEEN AND JUST WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN BLAST. PULLED OVER TO DISCOVER THE SUNROOF HAD BURST UPWARD AND OUTWARD.

THE BACK TRUNK WHEN OPENING HAS A HORRIBLE SCREECHING NOISE AND IS NOT SMOOTH OPENING. JUST BOUGHT THIS AS A USED CAR SO I'M SURE NOT IF I MISSED A PRIOR RECALL. ALSO THE STEERING WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL AT A SLOW SPEED MAKES A LOW GROANING NOISE

DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE HOOD OF THE NISSAN ROGUE IS LATCHED BUT THE ACTUAL HOOD WILL MOVE (FLAP) WHEN DRIVING OVER 45-50 MPH. THIS STARTED THE SAME DAY THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO GET IT IN BECAUSE OF WAIT TIME AT THE LOCATION. I HAVE WENT TO THE PLACE WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AT CARMAX, BUT THEY SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM THAT NISSAN INFORMED THEM ABOUT AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. NISSAN TOLD THEM THAT THERE WERE MANY OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAVE THE SAME DEFECT BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE CAR WAS MADE AND THE ONLY SOLUTION WAS TO TIGHTEN THE HOOD TO A CERTAIN EXTENT ACCORDING TO CARMAX. AFTER LEAVING THE LOCATION AND 3 DAYS LATER THE HOOD OF MY CAR IS FLAPPING AND MOVING EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE, I FEEL LIKE THIS WILL EVETUALLY LEAD TO ANOTHER PROBLEM BECAUSE YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE HOOD MOVING WHILE DRIVING AND THE PERSON AT THE CARMAX LOCATION WAS AWARE OF HOW MUCH IT WAS MOVING DURING A TEST DRIVE. I HAVE TRIED TO LOOK UP INFORMATION ABOUT THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I WAS TOLD IT WAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM, BUT AS OF NOW I HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING RELATED TO THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING. I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN THAT STATE BECAUSE IT COULD GET WORSE AND EVENTUALLY BECAUSE OF THE SPEED OF THE HIGHWAY I DRIVE ON (70MPH US 1 NC) IT COULD POSSIBLE AFFECT THE LATCH OR SOMETHING ELSE.

LAST YEAR I WAS REARENDED WHILE WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AND MY AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY. THE IMPACT OF THE ACCIDENT WAS HARD ENOUGH THAT MY L-5 VERTEBRAE WAS BROKEN AND DISPLACED A CENTIMETER AWAY FROM SEVERING MY SPINAL CORD. IT DIDN'T OCCUR TO ME UNTIL MY DEPOSITION AND THE LAWYERS WERE ASKING ME WHY THE AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY THAT THERE COULD BE A PROBLEM. I WAS SITTING STATIONARY ON HWY 80 E IN STATESBORO GEORGIA WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO BABCOCK AND MORE HOME FURNISHINGS WHEN I WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND. THERE IS NO TURN LANE IT'S A 4 LANE HIGHWAY AND I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE WITH MY TURN SIGNAL IN.

SINCE I PURCHASED MY CAR NEW IN 2016, I WOULD NOTICE WHILE DRIVING OUR CITY ROADS THAT MY HOOD WOULD SHAKE LIKE IT WASN'T SECURE. I HAD MY HUSBAND CHECK IT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS SECURE AND IT WAS. ON JULY 5TH, 2018 WE TRAVELED FROM TUCSON, AZ TO ELY, NEVADA. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH EVERY TIME A ONCOMING VEHICLE WOULD PASS US BECAUSE IT LOOKED AS IF MY HOOD WAS GOING TO RIP RIGHT OFF. SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE NOTICED THIS AND WERE SCARED. I HAVE SINCE PARKED MY CAR AND AM WAITING TO GET IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT AS WITH EVERYTHING ELSE THEY WILL TELL ME UNLESS THERE IS A PROBLEM REPORTED THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO.

WHEN DRIVING THE POSTED SPEED LIMITS ON EXPRESSWAY THE HOOD FLUTTERS UP AND DOWN. IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS NOT SECURELY LATCHED ON. I PULLED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES TO CHECK IF HOOD WAS SECURELY LATCHED AND IT 'WAS DEFINITELY LOOSE. I TOOK INTO NISSAN FOR SERVICING AND THEY SAID IT WAS IN THE SPECIFIED PARAMETER- THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THEIR CUSTOMER CARE LINE TO SEE IF SOMETHING COULD BE DONE. I DROVE BELOW THE POSTED LIMIT FOR FEAR THAT THE HOOD WOULD FLY BACK AND HIT THE WINDSCREEN. THE HOOD SEEMS FLLIMISILY MANUFACTURED AND COULD BE OF STURDIER QUALITY.

EVERYTHING IN THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY. THE SEATS AND THE HOOD MOST NOTICEABLY SHAKE. I'VE STOPPED BEFORE TO CHECK THAT IT WAS LATCHED OUT OF FEAR OF THE HOOD OPENING WHILE I'M DRIVING. THE SHAKING IS NOT AS BAD WHEN THE TIRES ARE ROTATED BUT IT EVENTUALLY RETURNS WITHIN A FEW WEEKS. IT HAS DONE THIS SINCE I PURCHASED IT. THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000 MILES ON IT.

ON 2/7/16, I WAS PULLING INTO MY PARKING SPACE AT WORK. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AS I WAS COMING TO A STOP IN MY SPACE. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE ENGINE REVVED LOUDLY, AND THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD, JUMPED THE CURB AND SLAMMED INTO THE OFFICE BUILDING!!!! I HAD NO CONTROL EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WAS PUSHING ON THE BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD. MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME, AND TO THINK OF WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED PETRIFIES ME. THIS MALFUNCTION HAS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND RESOLVED. THE DIAGNOSTICS AND REPAIRS ESTIMATES ARE HAPPENING NOW, SO THE REPORTS ARE STILL BEING FORMULATED, AND I CAN ADD THEM TO THIS REPORT ONCE THEY ARE COMPLETED. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN USA HEADQUARTERS AND THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SENDING A REGIONAL COORDINATOR TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. I HAVE UPLOADED PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE AND THE SCENE.
