Jul 17, 2025

Check engine light comes on and then the engine sputters as the car slowly shuts off. Safety at risk because it happened while I was on highway

My car engine randomly shut down while in drive and would not drive on two occasions. Nissan cannot find any evidence that anything is wrong with my car. They refuse to assist despite this being a known issue. They told me I should pay to take it to another Nissan dealership to pay for another diagnostic test. The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle lost automotive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was scanned with an OBD2 scanner with a transmission sensor failure. In addition, several days later, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost automotive power. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the road, where an independent mechanic arrived at the scene and diagnosed the vehicle. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to a local garage. The local dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Have had this car for over a year and have been dealing with it constantly going into limp mode randomly throughout the day, usually when driving in stop and go traffic. Prior to going into limp mode (won't shift out of first gear), it lags for about 5 seconds while pressing the acceleration pedal and does not move. It's a huge safety issue when having to turn with oncoming traffic. I've taken the car to the dealer multiple times and Nissan refuses to acknowledge that there is any issue. When scanning with an OBD2 scanner, there are no codes associated with transmission issues. Transmission fluid has been flushed and replaced more then once since owning the car. On bad days, my car has gone into limp mode up to 6 times in one day. I've read this is a common problem with this year and model of car yet there is no recall for the CVT or cooling system for the transmission fluid. Mechanics can't seem to figure out a solution and I'm stuck with a car that has almost caused me to be in multiple accidents due to the hesitation/lag randomly when accelerating. I fear my transmission is going to go out every day I drive this car and it is my only car sadly.

I bought Nissan Rogue 2017 in 2021, but I have been having issues with tires, even though i had pump it and went to repair the tire many times, I received a notice for key recall in 2023, I went for to Evan Mills Nissan dealer in March 2023, They just straighten the key, that I should not bend the key, and I have been having issues with car engine light, ABS and Malfunction's, I have, this car had shut off four times while driving. brakes & engine shut off while driving On [XXX]. I was driving in Chicopee MA, the moment I inserted the key, while driving, the car suddenly accelerated, could not control the brakes, jack up and suddenly turned off, while driving with my kids in it, the speed sensor decrease and not accelerated at all, I took it to scanning at emission test, I changed part as requested, but yet the engine light and ABS is still on, I went to the dealer on 11/26/2024 but they told that i have to pay $200 to diagnose this car before anything can be done, I have been having issues this car since they one, because the dealer sold this car for me with bad tires and also fogged the price from $17,000 to $23,000, I traded Hyundai sonata 2017 and i did not get anything back, I am [XXX], please I need help with my car. Slipping and hard shifting of the transmission

Sep 20, 2024

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Transmission failed at 35K miles. I am getting the car fixed. we can ask nissan dealership to share failed transmission for inspection How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Car was missing when driving and completely lost transmission. Car woudnt move when out in gear. I had to get car towed to mechanic and nissan service center Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, NISSAN dealership confirmed that transmission has failed and needs to be replaced with new Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, inspected by NISSAN service center Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No Warning messages in the car. The same day while driving, engine started missing. Same day, it stopped moving completely. Summary: Extremely disappointed with my 2017 Nissan Rogue. At just 35,000 miles, the transmission failed due to a known manufacturing issue. Car will not drive anymore when put in gear. Despite a $277.7 million settlement for defective CVT transmissions in vehicles like mine (2014-2018 Rogues), Nissan refuses to cover my full repair costs. Nissan, why aren’t you standing by your commitment to fix this? Loyal customers deserve better! [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

There’s a problem with the transmission. The car was not accelerating so my mechanic looked at it and determined it need a new transmission. The car only has 81,300 miles on it.

Radiator cooling fan defect that causes safety hazards and costly repairs. There's even an active class action claim filed against Nissan in Tennessee federal court Case No.[XXX]. My vehicle has been inspected by an independent service center who agreed and acknowledged the shop has experienced multiple customers who've had the same issue and repairs needed, with 2016-2020 Nissans especially. The dealership itself quoted $1800 for repairs! I'm a pretty proactive person, so caught the issue before my engine overheated and any warning lights turned on, but noticed when the radiator fan stopped turning once car was idled. Just want to make NHTSA aware of this ongoing issue and danger this can potentially be for Nissan consumers. Car stops accelerating when the engine get hot. It happens all the time. I was not made aware of any issues with the car when I purchase it . This apparently is a known issue and a teenager drives the car. Mechanic states the whole transmission needs to be replaced.

I was driving on [XXX], close to [XXX] but my lights ( engine and tire were on ),when suddenly I lost the control and I hit on the wall. The steering wheel was a little hard and the mechanic told me my CATALYST wasn't good( engine and tire sensor aren't working correctly ). I thought it was my last day because that freeway is a little hight. I imaged my car flying. ALSO I HAVE 1 ACCIDENT . I CRASHED ONE CAR BUT IT WASNT MY BLAME. The car lost the control. Now I have to pay but it is expensive for me INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My daughters vehicle 2017 Nissan Rogue has been jerking for months now. No check engine has been on. I have been told it is likely a transmission problem After doing some research this has been an ongoing problem with the Nissan Rogue but no recall has been issued in the state of Oklahoma. It also doesn’t help that it has over 100,000 miles now. This is not an affordable fix but Nissan needs to fix it and others who are having the issue before someone gets hurt or it causes accidents If a recall and settlement has been made in other states all states should have been included Nissan knew this was a problem and failed to handle it accordingly

Jun 16, 2024

My tranmission is not liable. My vehicle jerks, steering wheel vibrates when I hold it at a speed like 45. I have written you before. Nothing will be done. I waiting for it to just die and not move. I know a lot of Nissan Roque have Transmission problems and there is a recall out there. But since mine doesn't show any codes nothing will be done. I don't understand why wait before it does leave me stranded. Or maybe I have a lemon of a vehicle

Apr 25, 2024

My vehicle is starting to jerk at times. Doesn't do it all the time, but it is bad. When driving it will jerk, and if the speed is 45 mph and you hold it at that speed the steering wheel will shake. The engine doesn't sound right. I have had it checked and it is the transmission. Yes there's is a recall on it. But since no lights have come on the Transmission can not be replaced. Something needs to be done before I am stranded some where. Don't know what the big deal is for you to fix it when you know there are problems with it.

Vehicle consistently loses power, very loud noise as it is revving up, no lights are on for warnings, sounds as if it is trying to change gears but will not. The a/c also quits working during small climbs or long trips or especially in hilly areas.

Around 80,000 miles our car, when it's been driven about an hour, starts to hesitate when I escalate when slowed or stopped. It's about a 3 second hesitation that is very dangerous if I try to drive across a busy 4 lane road. I have come very close to being hit several times due to this hesitation. I am very aware there has been lawsuits in regards to this. I read in the lawsuit that Nissan put some sort of chip in the engine to allow it to last longer but it also causes this hesitation when the engine gets warm. In order to stop this, I have to literally shut the car off, back on, then this hesitation stops for awhile. It's as if the microchip has been rebooted or something when the car is shut off. I called the dealership here an they say they never heard of this but I find it hard to believe since others like me with this 2017 ROGUE, have the same issues and some have paid for a new transmission. I cannot afford that especially when it's Nissan who is causing it. I did contact Nissan and they told me since the mileage is over 100,000 now they will do nothing. I haven't taken it to the dealer service after a conversation I had over the phone. I was treated unfairly and talked down to for being female. They spoke to me as if I was terribly ignorant. I told them I read about other people's issue with the ROGUE from the class action suit. I didn't just read it off some web page. Besides, even if they diagnosed my car for what I have described, I Don't have the money to replace a transmission and hope to get refunded from some lawsuit years from now. By then I could be dead in that car. Can't afford to get a new car. If you all don't take this seriously, I at least want it filed so that if something happens one of my final requests will to have my husband follow through with a lawsuit. We try to avoid driving situations because of this. Why won't Nissan just replace the microchip? What do I do?

The contact owned a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 5 MPH and turning, the vehicle had shut off independently which caused the contact to get rear-ended. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle shutting off caused the crash. The air bags did deploy. The contact was not sure how fast the other vehicle was going at the time of the crash. A police report was filed. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to reach out to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 101,500.

On multiple occasions this vehicle has lost power whilst driving on public roads including but not limited to interstate roadways. The vehicle will be operating normally at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour (depending on the posted speed limit) and will suddenly lose power and speed to such a degree that it is unsafe and the speed cannot be regained. Vehicle has been inspected and "fixed" on multiple occasions, in multiple states including but not limited to Missouri and South Carolina where the incidents have occurred, however the issue has continued to occur. The locations the vehicle has been inspected and "fixed" include both dealerships and independently owned garage repair shops. The Nissan dealership has advised this issue is not under warrantee and is not part of a recall. They have advised there is a recall of the engine of the 2017 Nissan Rogue Electric vehicle only for the same issue.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and lost motive power. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle with exhaust manifold, air-fuel ratio sensor, and O2 sensor failures. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to Voluntary Emission Recall Campaign PC717, but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 90,000.

As I was driving, steadily pressing on my gas, and I felt the car stopping. The car sounded like it was in neutral and I was pressing on the gas but it didn’t make a difference. I pulled over put it in park, then drive again. The problem persisted. I turned off the car and then it drove regularly. This has occurred 2 times already. I use premium gasoline and get oil changes regularly. This seems like a transmission problem. I’m very scared this might happen when I’m on a highway.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE MY 2017 NISSAN ROGUE, it acts up at the worst times when I'm trying to cross a busy street with oncoming traffic, sometimes very high speed, I cannot get sufficient acceleration!! I HAVE COME SO CLOSE TO GETTING HIT THAT NOW I AM CONVINCED, IN A MATTER OF "WHEN", THAT I WILL BE HIT!! I am aware that You and Nissan are aware of the CVT being a problem that no one wants to take responsibility for. I'm keeping this report so "when I get hit" a lawsuit will be forthcoming. (Even if I die) I've instructed family to sue if I parish.

-engine light was on and nissan ran a diagnostic and found the code number p0603 and needs a new ECM -this could cause an accident as the driver can loose control of vehicle at any moment causing the driver and others at high risk -the problem was confirmed by the dealer service center -the engine light was the only indicator and other private car auto body stated the battery needed replacement but nissan ran a diagnostic to find it was the ECM.

When driving the vehicle on the highway, it suddenly felt like it is decelerating (slowing down ready to stall or completely stop). This all happened suddenly. It continued to move forward, but there was a large "malfunction" sign that showed up in the middle of the dash screen. It was extremely dangerous, as I was driving my 1.5 year old grandchild home from daycare. After having the vehicle connected to a auto diagnostic machine, the codes that came up were part of a known Nissan issue (Service Bulletin: NTB18-077, APPLIED TRANSMISSION: CVT (RE0F10D)).

When I am at a complete stop and I press on the accelerator, the car will lurch forward very slowly. This has happened many times while driving in heavy traffic and it is very unsafe.

As we are on our way driving to work, there was weird sounds coming out of the engine, we had no check engine lights turn on an advance to give us a warning. After those weird noises , we pressed on the gas the car would not move, that’s when the engine light came on and the car turned off, there was smoke coming out of the front it smelt like something was burning, we moved out of the car fast. We tried turning the car back on but it would not turn on.

To whom it may concern, My 2017 Nissan Rogue's CVT transmission went out. I was driving home on March 11, 2022 and I turned right safely into an intersection when the oncoming traffic had a green light and my vehicle stopped accelerating. We could have been hit by incoming traffic because of this. It was not until this happened that I found out that there was a class action lawsuit against Nissan due to this CVT problem. My vehicle was not displaying any warning signs, it just stopped accelerating. Nissan failed to notify their consumers about the ongoing issue with the CVT transmission on their vehicles to have the vehicle inspected prior to warranty being expired. I am a single mother, full time employee, and full time student. I purchased this vehicle in hopes of it being reliable. Instead, this malfunction, I was almost hit by incoming traffic because of the lack of communication with their consumers. Letting consumers know this late is ridiculous, considering most of the affected models are close to the end of their 5-year warranty period. I demand an answer from Nissan, I will not accept that they are not doing anything to help me cover the costs which have been estimated to be closer to $10,000 by a Nissan certified service department. Nissan failed to communicate this problem, my daughter and I's safety was compromised when driving this vehicle, what if this would have occurred while we were driving on the highway. I could have been hurt and so would my daughter. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs and they declined any sort of help.

Letter in the mail citing class action lawsuit VS Nissan regarding transmission issues - having same issues, car unable to start, causes battery to die.

Aug 24, 2021

I drive a 2017 Nissan Rogue that has just under 65K miles on it as of today. Without a prior indication of a problem from the car's warning system, I suddenly began losing transmission power and experiencing significant engine hesitation while driving yesterday, August 23, 2021. Specifically, the car would hesitate at least 3 seconds and sometimes as long as 8 seconds before engaging, thus putting me in great danger in traffic and on public roads. Additionally, the engine would begin revving up from 1 to 4+ rpms while simply trying to maintain a speed of 40 mph. This caused me to constantly have to remove my foot entirely from the accelerator, further putting me in harm's way while in traffic on both residential and highway roads. I lost control of my vehicle. I immediately proceeded home as carefully as I could manage, stored the vehicle overnight in the garage, and took it to the dealership first thing in the morning. To my great surprise and disappointment, the Nissan adviser informed me that the diagnostic codes received were P0776 and P1715, both of which were addressed in previous Nissan Service Bulletins in both 2018 and 2021. Furthermore, these codes indicate specific issues with the CVT - something that has plagued Nissan for years and continues to be the center of many lawsuits and causes for extended warranty programs. In fact, I experienced CVT transmission failure in a 2015 Nissan Rogue that I owned previous to this one. My sister also experienced the same safety hazard in her Nissan Rogue. This is an ongoing and hugely unsafe problem. Currently, my vehicle is at the dealership, awaiting response from Nissan Corporation as to whether they will replace/fix at no cost, considering the blatant CVT issues and the fact that my powertrain warranty expired less than 5k miles ago and that several other models with the exact same issue have been granted extended warranties, etc. This should be at no expense to me. I had my car inspected last month by Nissan!

Jul 20, 2021

My 2017 Nissan Rogue has been jerking, lurching, and there are times when the accelerator is depressed but the car does not accelerate at all It is extremely dangerous. Nissan has confirmed that the CVT has failed. This seems to be an ongoing issue with many of their vehicles and it doesn’t not feel like adequate action is being taken to remedy this.

WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN SPEEDS OF 30-45 MPH THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE, AND THE RPMS WERE SHIFTING ERRATICALLY BETWEEN 2000-4000 OR MORE. THE ISSUE WOULD CORRECT WHEN MORE SPEED WAS ATTAINED, BUT WOULD RETURN. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND IMMEDIATELY, HOWEVER THE RPMS WOULD INCREASE DRASTICALLY. WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY, USING CRUISE CONTROL AT 65 MPH, THE RPMS WOULD CHANGE DRASTICALLY AGAIN. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN A FULL STOP WHEN EXITING A HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED TO REENTER TRAFFIC, THE RPMS IMMEDIATELY WENT ABOVE 6000 OR MORE, AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY, WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN PLACED IN PARK, AND IGNITION TURNED OFF, AND TURNED BACK ON AGAIN. THE VEHICLE TURNED ON WITHOUT ISSUE, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND IMMEDIATELY TO THE ACCELERATOR BEING DEPRESSED, BUT DID BEGIN TO MOVE. THE NISSAN HAS A SEVERE VIBRATION COMING THROUGHOUT THE CABIN AT STOPLIGHTS ON CITY STREETS. THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES, THE PASSENGER VIOLENTLY VIBRATES WHEN NO ONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT, THE HOOD SHAKES. THIS ALL HAPPENS WHILE AT IDLE, AS THE VEHICLE GETS WARMER THE ISSUES BECOMES WORSE, FOR EXAMPLE: THE VIBRATION IS LESS NOTICEABLE THE FIRST 10 MINUTES THE VEHICLE IS ON AND OPERATING, AS THE ENGINE WARMS THE ISSUE GETS WORSE. I HAVE HAD THE CAR INSPECTED BY BOTH NISSAN AND A 3-RD PARTY, WITH BOTH SAYING THE ISSUE IS VISIBLE, BUT THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS. THIS VIBRATION IS A SAFETY HAZARD, IT IS SHAKING COMPONENTS OF MY VEHICLE THAT MAY BECOME LOOSE OVER TIME AND NOT HOLD UP IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT (I.E. THE VIBRATION ON THE PASSANGER SEAT COULD CAUSE BOLTS TO BECOME LOOSE WITHOUT ME KNOWING, THEN WHEN I STEP ON THE BREAK THE SEAT COULD COME LOOSE AND CAUSE INJURY. ALSO THE HOOD LATCH CAN BECOME LOOSE AND FLY OPEN WHILE DRIVING.) BESIDES THE SAFETY ISSUES THIS IS ADDING EXCESSIVE WARE AND TEAR ON ,Y VEHICLE AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE.

THE ENGINE SOUNDS LIKE A TRUCK AND DOES NOT GO ABOVE 25MPH WITH THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE LIGHTS THAT APPEAR ON THE DASH IS THE SAFETY CRASH AND WARNING LIGHTS. I THEN HAVE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AGAIN FOR IT TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. THIS HAPPENS 1-2 TIMES A WEEK. I AFRAID THIS GOING TO CAUSE A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT. BECAUSE I WAS GOING UP A SLIGHT INCLINE, I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND COAST BACKWARDS OUT OF THE INTERSECTION. I CONTACTED AAA AND WAITED FOR THEM TO RUN THEIR BATTERY TESTS. AFTER RULING OUT BATTERY ISSUES, I HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO ENCOURAGED ME TO TAKE IT TO NISSAN DUE TO A COMPUTER MALFUNCTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THAT WHAT HAPPENED SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. NISSAN PUT IT THROUGH THEIR OWN TESTS TO DETERMINE WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED WITH THE COMPUTER. THEY LATER FOUND THAT A WIRE HAD BEEN RUBBING AGAINST A BOLT. THE WIRE WAS THE WIRE THAT CONNECTS THE COMPUTER TO THE ENGINE. AS EXPLAINED TO ME: THE WIRES OF THE CAR ARE ALL BUNDLED TOGETHER AND INSIDE OF A "PROTECTIVE" TUBE. THE TUBE WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE BOLT, THEN OPENED UP, EXPOSING THE WIRES. THE WIRE THAT HAPPENED TO BE THE ONE THAT CONTINUED TO BE IN CONTACT WITH THE BOLT WAS THE WIRE THAT THEN SHORTED THE COMPUTER AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. THEY ENSURED ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I DID THAT CAUSED THIS BUT THEY WERE UNSURE WHY THE WIRES/TUBE WAS IN THE LOCATION THAT IT WAS. IT WAS A LITTLE OVER 1,000 MILES OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY (MY CAR HAD 37,300 MILES ON IT) AND REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I ATTEMPTED CONTACT WITH NISSAN NORTH AMERICA MULTIPLE TIMES, THE FIRST WOMAN EVENTUALLY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AS IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR, SHE NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS.

ON JANUARY 13 (ABOUT 29000 MILES) WHILE DRIVING UP AN ON RAMP OFF OF THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SPUTTER AND HESITATE. PULLED OFF AND PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AND ENGINE CONTINUED TO SPUTTER A FEW SECONDS THEN DIE. TRIED TO START UP AND WOULD BRIEFLY START, SPUTTER, THEN DIE. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD MY MAF SENSOR WAS JUNKED UP BY A BUG. SENSOR WAS REPLACED. ON JANUARY 25, SAME THING HAPPENED. DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND VEHICLE WAS BECOMING HESITANT, INCONSISTENT AND JUMPING RPMS, STARTED SPUTTERING AND EVENTUALLY STALLED. GETTING TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. CURRENT MILEAGE 30588.

WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, ENGINE TURNED OFF A WEIRD CHIRPING/BUZZING NOISE COMES FROM THE ENGINE IN INTERVALS. THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE, HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 2 WEEKS. I HAVE RECORDED IT AND SENT TO SEVERAL MECHANICS, I SEE ON YOUTUBE OTHER OWNERS HAVE IT AS WELL, AND NISSAN CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS. IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY SINCE THE DAY I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 7-31-2017 BRAND NEW. I NOW HAVE 10,000 MILES, IT STILL HAPPENS, LAST TIME YESTERDAY.

THE VEHICLE INITIALLY WOULD NOT START ON 1/17/18 WHILE PARKED. I CALLED NISSAN ROADSIDE AND THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK A FEW HOURS LATER. VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE JUMPED. TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I GOT THE VEHICLE BACK SEVERAL DAYS LATER AND THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN. I WAS AT WORK SO I WAITED ON CALLING FOR A TOW AND WHEN I WENT BACK OUT IT TURNED OVER. IN MARCH, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN STATIONARY AND COULD NOT BE JUMPED SO IT WAS TOWED. THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE SO I TOOK THE CAR BACK. ON 8/18/18 I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN I FELT THE CAR SEEM TO LOSE POWER AND HEARD A WHINING OR WHISTLING NOISE WHICH I INITIALLY THOUGHT WAS A WINDOW SLIGHTLY OPEN. I GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE AND PARKED IN THE CLOSEST AREA I COULD. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND I AGAIN CALLED NISSAN ROADSIDE. THE DEALER HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 2-3 WEEKS AND AGAIN RETURNED IT TELLING ME IT WAS OK. ON 9/11/18 I WENT TO GET LUNCH AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED WORKING IN A PARKING LOT. I TOOK VIDEO ON 9/11/18 OF THE PROBLEM AND AGAIN HAD TO BE TOWED AND FIND A RIDE HOME (1 HOUR FROM HOME). NOW I AM TOLD THE DEALER ADDED SOME "HARNESS" AND IT SHOULD WORK FINE SO I SHOULD COME PICK IT UP. THIS VEHICLE IS CLEARLY DANGEROUS. I WAS DRIVING SO I WAS ABLE TO HANDLE IT BUT IF MY WIFE OR SOMEBODY ELSE WAS DRIVING I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. I HAVE FURTHER REPAIR ORDERS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ATTACHED DOCUMENTS.

MY CAR WOULDN'T START IT WOULD TURN OFF AS I'M SITTING AT A LIGHT, ALL MY LIGHTS WOULD BLINK ON AND OFF IT WAS MAKING A CLICKING SOUND THEN IT FINALLY TURNED ON AND MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND A TRIANGLE WITH AN EXPLANATION CAME ON. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON MY CAR, SO I TOOK IT IN AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND HAD TO FIX IT THEY HAD MY CAR FOR A WHOLE WEEK. I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK AND ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER MY CAR CONTINUED TO HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THEY FIXED NOTHING!!!! MY CARS IN THE SHOP RIGHT NOW AS WE SPEAK BECAUSE OF THE SAME PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE POWER DROPPED TO THE CAR. THE RPMS DROPPED DOWN TO ALMOST ZERO, THE POWER TO THE RADIO AND FAN MOTOR STOPPED AS WELL. I WENT FROM 65 MILES PER HOUR TO 35 MILES PER HOUR IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THAT THE ENGINE FEELS LIKE IT MIGHT STALL UPON START AFTER SITTING ALL DAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE THIRD ISSUE IS THAT THE BLUETOOTH RADIO SYSTEM HAS A WHISTLING SOUND WHEN TRYING TO USE THIS AND BE SAFE WHILE DRIVING. THE FOURTH ISSUE IS THAT THE INTERIOR BACK DOOR PULLS TO CLOSE THE DOOR BOTH POP OUT AND CANNOT BE PUSHED BACK INTO PLACE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AWAY FROM ME FOR A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME SO NISSAN CAN TRY AND MAKE REPAIRS. CONSUMER AFFAIRS TOLD US THAT SIMPLY THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE BLUETOOTH ISSUE AND THAT THE BACK DOOR PULLS WAS A DESIGN FLAW FROM THE MANUFACTURER.

I EXPERIENCED MY CAR ACCELERATING WHEN NOT ON THE GAS. I WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS MY IMAGINATION BUT IT'S HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I WENT OUT TO START MY CAR A FEW WEEKS AGO AND MY KEY WOULDN'T TURN. A RED KEY APPEARED IN THE DASHBOARD FLASHING. IT TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE THE KEY EVENTUALLY TURNED. THIS ONLY LASTED A DAY. FAST FORWARD TO NOW MY CAR KEEPS STALLING. I TOOK IT BY AN AUTO ZONE, I WAS TOLD IT WAS MY ALTERNATOR. WELL I JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW LAST YEAR. IT'S ONLY A YEAR OLD. THIS MORNING, IT GAVE ME THE SAME ISSUE. I GO TO TURN THE CAR ON DRIVE OUT THE LOT AND IT KEEPS STALLING. NO INDICATORS IN THE DASHBOARD ARE INDICATING ANYTHING IS WRONG. I'M AFRAID SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG AND DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT. I JUST DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT. PER THE STAFF, EVERYTHING IS NORMAL. I'M NOW AWAITING A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK.

AS I WAS PARKING MY CAR ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. I HAD TO STEP ON THE BRAKES RAPIDLY TO PREVENT HITTING ANOTHER CAR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IT HAPPENED SO FAST, I THOUGHT THE GAS PEDAL STUCK. NOW I REALIZE THAT WAS NOT THE CASE, IT WAS AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AS WELL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE FIRST TIME AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. NOTHING WAS DONE. I WILL TAKE IT IN TOMORROW. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR NOW.

WHILE ON CITY STREETS, TRYING TO COME TO A STOP I APPLIED THE BREAKS AND NOTHING HAPPENED, I THEN HAD TO LET OFF THE PEDAL AND REAPPLY PRESSURE TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP. I TOOK THE CAR INTO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY REFUSED TO LOOK AT THE CAR BECAUSE I HAVE HAD IT IN TO HAVE THE BREAKS, ENGINE HESITATION, EXTENDED ENGINE CRANK, AND AN A/C PROBLEM FIXED 6 TIMES IN 5 MONTHS. NISSAN HAS A TSB OUT FOR AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT HAS THEM RESET THE COMPUTER BUT IT DOES NOT FIX ANY ISSUES. NISSAN TOLD ME TO GET THE PROBLEMS TO STOP I NEED TO CYCLE THE KEY. WHEN I ASKED WHAT THAT MEANT THEY SAID TO STOP THE CAR, PUT IT IN PARK, TURN THE CAR OFF, AND TURN IT BACK ON. I SAID EVEN IF IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY? THEY SAID YES.

2017-NISSAN ROGUE SPORT; DRIVING ON HWY 41, THE ROGUE LOSES POWER/POWER FAILURE AND ALMOST COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE ROGUE THEN COMES BACK UP AND CONTINUES UP HWY 41. THE REAR STOP LIGHTS DID NOT COME ON WHEN THE POWER WENT DOWN. I WAS ON A 5 LANE HWY AND COULD HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. ALSO, WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR SINCE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE. IN SPEAKING WITH THE DEALERSHIPS, THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO AUTONATION NISSAN THEY KEPT IT FOR TWO DAYS. WHEN I PICKED THE ROGUE UP FROM THEIR CALL, IT DID NOT AND HAS NOT DRIVEN THE SAME; I EXPLAINED THIS TO THE TECH. WHEN HE TEST DROVE IT WITH US, HE GUNNED IT GOING UP A HILL, THE ENGINE JUST RACED, THE CAR DID NOTHING. HE IMMEDIATELY TURNED TO A DOWNHILL RD AND TOOK THE CAR BACK TOT THE DEALERSHIP. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHICH I'VE BEEN THROUGH THIS BEFORE WITH NISSAN. EVERYONE AT THE DEALERSHIPS WANTS TO SAY AND TALK ABOUT ELECTRICAL ISSUES, FIRST THING THE CHECK. I SPOKE WITH A PERSON AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT ADVISED THEY DO WHAT NISSAN TELLS THEM TO DO. SO IT APPEARS THE SAFETY ISSUE CONTINUES, NISSAN HAS THE RESET THE COMPUTER TO NEW SETTINGS AND THE PROBLEMS AND SAFETY ISSUE IN OUR OPINION IS NEVER ADDRESSED. I NOW HAVE A 2017 ROGUE SPORT WITH SAFETY ISSUES AND SOUNDS LIKE AN OLD CAR ON ITS LAST LEG AFTER THE DEALERSHIP IS DONE WITH IT. ITS TIME NISSAN STEPS UP TO THE PLATE AND FIXES THE PROBLEM.

NISSAN ROGUE SPORT 2017 WITH 2K MILES. CAR HAS ISSUES STARTING. ENGINE WILL TURN OVER A COUPLE TIMES BEFORE STARTING. ON 11.29.2017, CAR STALLED AT A STOP SIGN AND ENGINE COMPLETELY TURNED OFF. IT TOOK TWO TRIES FOR THE CAR TO START UP AGAIN. BROUGHT TO NISSAN RENO IMMEDIATELY. NISSAN RENO CALLED ON 11.30.2017 STATING THE DX TEST CAME BACK WITHOUT ANY NEGATIVE RESULTS. NISSAN STATED THAT THE CAR STARTED FINE FOR THEM AND TEST DROVE IT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IT NOT ON. EXTREMELY CONCERNED AS THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. WHAT IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY OR MAJOR HWY AND THE ENGINE WOULD JUST TURN OFF? I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING MY BRAND NEW CAR THAT I'VE ONLY OWNED FOR ONE MONTH. THIS ISSUE, IF OCCURS AGAIN CAN CAUSE INJURY TO MYSELF OR ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL.
