Automatic emergency braking is malfunctioning. It is available for inspection upon request. The car stops by itself while driving in traffic, putting myself and other drivers at risk. I have brought the vehicle to the dealership twice and they deny the problem. There is no warning leading up to the issue. It is a reoccurring random problem that happens while driving in stop-and-go traffic. When it occurs, the vehicle is paralyzed and I need to shut off the car and restart the car in the middle of traffic. The vehicle started malfunctioning like this approximately 3 years ago and it has become more frequent. It now occurs every time I commute in slow traffic. It is dangerous and there are reports online of many other drivers experiencing the same problem and local news reports.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the automatic emergency braking system engaged temporarily while there was no other vehicles around, and the vehicle made a beeping sound. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and continued driving. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle need to be taken in for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,113.

The collision light came on and everywhere online says it’s a recall but Nissan doesn’t show it as a recall in their system. It states the the car will stop suddenly when light comes on thinking cars are around but nobody is around. It’s not safe. I’m getting it fixed right now but I’m having to pay money because my car isn’t listed as a recall for this.

I was drivin during the day with no one in front of me and all of a sudden the car was beeping, an alert flashed on the dash and my car skidded to a stop. The alert flashed so quickly I wasn’t able to see what it was and I had no control over my car. Fortunately no one was behind me.

Front collision sensor goes off every once in awhile it seeming that there's a person in front of the vehicle when there's no one on the street and also it goes off when it rains or snows or it's foggy out it doesn't work.

I am the owner of a 2017 Nissan Rogue SV FWD. Bought the vehicle back in October 2022 with a clear history with no prior accidents reported on the vehicle. Recently while driving to work, my brakes on my 2017 Nissan Rogue suddenly braked or locked up without me pressing the brake pedal. There was no vehicles in ahead of me nor in back of me yet still the brakes engaged. This has caused my 2017 Nissan Rogue to lose traction and hydroplane across the lanes on the freeway and in doing so sending me crashing into the concrete barrier in the medium. It has been raining that day and while it was raining at the time of the incident, me hydroplaning unexpectedly was inevitable. The impact with the concrete barrier send me careening backward to now face the oncoming traffic that were behind me more than two hundred feet away. I look to the dash and discovered the "automatic braking" light on. Not wanting to get struck by oncoming drivers, I managed to move my vehicle to a safe location and turn the engine off. I like to also add that the driver side airbag on the 2017 Nissan Rogue DID NOT deploy from the impact. No drivers or other vehicles were struck damaged or impact from the incident. I have started a claim on the night of the incident and my vehicle is currently being inspected by my insurance agent.

On many occasions, the AEB (FEB) engages on its own, when there is not vehicle or item in the car's path. This is a safety issue, as it can happen in traffic, which is likely to cause a collision. This week I took the vehicle to Regal Nissan in Roswell, GA and made them aware of the situation. I was told, "This is a technologically advanced vehicle. If dirt or debris is on the front of the vehicle, it can cause the AEB to engage." The dealership said there was a software update to the AEB that they would perform. They did not inspect the AEB system, but said if it happens again bring it back and they will look at it further. When I got in my care to leave, I found a photocopied page (page 5-85) of the owner's manual that they left for me. The highlighted a sections that said: The radar sensor may NOT detect a vehicle ahead in the following conditions: - Dirt, ice, snow or other material covering the radar sensor". Again - it's not that the system is not detecting something in the path of the car, it's that it is engaging on its own. I was driving home from work and my car braked really hard without me touching the brake. The dash board light flashed a warning that was red and white and an alarm went off. This is available upon request. My safety was put at risk because this happened as I was accelerating through a green traffic light. There were people behind me who could have slammed into me, endangering me and them. This happened one other time last week but for a short period of time and it barely braked. It has not yet been inspected, but I plan to call my local dealership.

The automatic emergency braking system activated when there was no hazard. it was a full on panic stop with ABS engaging. The event lasted about 2 seconds. There were no other cars near by so there was no incident. This is the first time this has happened and the Rogue was fine for the rest of that drive. the front sensor was free from obstruction when looked at about 10 mins later.

The automatic emergency brake will activate when it's not supposed to. Then it will take several seconds for me to be able to drive again. This has caused me to almost be rear ended several times. I can turn the auto brake system off but it will come back on, on it's own.

The car siezes and stops instantly with a MALFUNCTION that is sensing something that is not present. It has happened over 6 times, within 2 weeks. It has been reported to Twin City Nissan (409)727-2779 three times. Nissan serviced a recall by “reprogramming” on 8-2-2023. The incident has continued to occur. 8-3-2023 a Nissan technician was riding in the car when the MALFUNCTION siezed the car to a stop again. No code was detected on their computer monitoring system at that time. The dealership said they could no longer assist with repairing the defect because they can not even determine what is causing it. It was suggested by the technician that I manually disarm the Emergency Brake System every time I start the car. Service manager told me there was nothing else to be done and wished me “good luck”. I have requested the service information for the follow-up on 8-3-2023. The dealership states the information has not been entered by the Service Manager nor the technician who performed the computer analysis.

While driving in the rain on July 11, 2023 and for the first time I encountered rain dropping into the inside of my vehicle from several different places in the front windshield of my vehicle. The rain was falling profusely onto the gearshift area which caused me to multitask and try to cover the area to prevent any damage. I was able to get off the expressway and make it to the gas station where I took several pictures and videos. There were no warning lights or signs on my vehicle. There was an additional issue earlier this year when my car would not accelerate over 35-40 mph and when it did the car would shake badly. The car would just randomn make loud sounds and force a hard push before the accelerations. I took it to a Nissan dealership to find out the transmission had to be replaced. While driving the vehicle it steers toward the right. I also have noise from the bottom of the car and it appears there is something loose or dragging which causes making a left or right turn hard.

The automatic braking system engaged four times randomly on 4/4 and 4/5/23 while driving on us hwy 70 in Nashville TN. There were no obstructions nearby when this occurred. Two of the incidents occurred while traveling approximately 45 to 50 mph almost resulting in a rear end collision from the driver behind. The other two incidents occurred at slower speeds making the vehicle almost impossible to drive. This was a significant safety concern since it occurred without warning. The Rogue is currently at action nissan in Nashville for diagnosis.

Recall for water potentially leaking into drivers side dash harness connector…which could cause battery discharge and thermal damage to connector (along with other possible problems). About two weeks prior to receiving the recall letter…my Rogue started having major battery issues - such as, thick blue corrosion on and around both terminals, all down the cables/wiring, and circuit board attached. Got the alternator checked, bought a new battery, and still…same problems. It hasn’t been reliable enough to drive. The day I call to make an appointment at the Nissan Dealership, I received the letter of the recall (1/23/23). The letter states to call and make an appointment to get it fixed ASAP. After finally talking to someone who had little knowledge on the recall AND couldn’t even tell me what the part is or where it was. I was then informed that they do not have the parts to fix it because Nissan doesn’t have them available yet….and to call back in a couple weeks cause they had no knowledge when parts would even be available! After telling him my issues, he informs me that Nissan recommends not to drive it whatsoever and to unhook my battery completely…due to major fire potential. I live 25 minutes from town, out in the country with my 84 year old grandmother…with NO other vehicle options available. The dealership doesn’t offer any sort of rental car service and didn’t seem to care or even offer any other options. I have a job and a grandmother I look after. I’m not one to complain, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the fact, the problems my car is experiencing, fall under this recall is VERY nerve racking to know I was at risk of my car catching on fire while driving it or even having my battery hooked up while it’s parked!

On 12/16/22 while going through an overpass on a expressway/thruway, my 2017 Nissan Rogue automatic emergency braking system suddenly, erroneously and dangerously activated. Vehicle sustained body damage in the course of the sudden, with no reason, defective AEB/FEB engagement. Vehicle was limped off of the expressway/thruway and I called 911 and Triple A for transport to the dealer. I have since learned that Nissan has had thousands of complaints about this serious safety defect. Vehicle is currently at the Nissan dealer being inspected. I do not understand why a recall has not been issued as yet for this ongoing serious safety defect. It is also my understanding that Nissan has issued several corrective action "bulletins" on this matter but there is no real fix. The problem persists. I would never have purchased this vehicle if I had been made aware of the serious safety defect. CarFax Report at time of purchase and service documentation at the dealers do not show that the vehicle ever received any corrective action prior to my purchase of the vehicle in November 2020. I will never feel safe again in this vehicle. I and the occupants of my car on 12/16/22 are lucky to be alive. This serious incident could have resulted in all of our deaths on the expressway/thruway.

Me vehicle keeps warning me of a forward collision when there is not the possibility of one. It has locked up the brakes at speed on an open road once before. This thing needs to be recalled this is a wide spread problem with rogues.

While driving on 86th street in Indianapolis, Indiana on a trip, my 2017 Nissan Rogue abruptly and suddenly stopped with no warning whatsoever. I was driving at approximately 30 to 35 miles per hour at the time. The engine remained operating once the vehicle stopped. I pressed the gas pedal after the abrupt stop when the vehicle began to move forward.

The car even after reprogramming ICC/ ADAS radar is still having similar problems over again. The car when driving on an open road suddenly stops and stalls with a malfunction sign and a crash signal in the middle of highway. The car then does not starts and the above message prevents the RPM from increasing. It drives at idle speed with no acceleration. The car fixes back itself some times and restarts driving fine and after few miles, again in the middle of road, same incident happened when it stalled again and same malfunction message appeared. There is an open investigation by NHSTA currently about this incident as reported in majority of 2017 Nissan Rogue. It is a huge safety concern with increased risk of injury or death to self, passengers, and others. Nissan is not taking accountability for this.

Was driving down the interstate going 80 mph. All of a sudden the car starting stopping. It wouldn't accelerate but the engine was still revving. Was able to get it pulled to the side of the road. It calmed down, then got back on the road. That was the second time, the first time happen in town while going about 30 mph. At that time I didn't think much about it. Due to it completely stopping it could have caused us to have a crash. I took it to the dealership the next day and they told me there were no recalls for my vin, that only thing they could do was schedule an appointment to have it looked over. Only warning we got was when it happened, the dash flashed and it went to a stop. Nothing before hand.

I was driving 5mph at a drive through Xmas light display. While slowly driving through the display, the vehicle suddenly lunged forward followed by the emergency braking system engaging. Which brought the car to a sudden stop in front of the cars following behind us. I turned the car off then back on. Several lights on the dash remained on after restarting the car. I took it into the Nissan dealership in Rockwall, TX. They told me the ABS control module failed and needed to be replaced. Based on what I was doing at the time of the incident, this sudden failure could have resulted in a potential accident. The dealership also told me this is a know issue on other Nissan's and has been known to cause the vehicles to catch on fire.

Car died, now warning light came on malfunctioning of EBS. Cruise control cuts off for no reason. Car breaks on it on. Almost causing accident. It is now in the shop for a brand new transmission!!! And EBS bad sensors. I do not want the car back. Please make them but it back. Also there is a bad ground when using the Bluetooth, but they can’t seem to notice it.

The contact stated while driving 55 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle independently came to an abrupt stop as the crash sensor warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact immediately pulled over and read the safety manual but could not find the cause of the failure. After restarting the vehicle, the contact resumed normal driving with the cruise control activated and the same failure occurred again. The contact called a dealer where an appointment was made to inspect the vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The car continues to flash malfunction and front radar disabled. My car beeps all the time on the road for zero reason. Now my cars warranty is out by a few miles and the refuse to fix it. This is a safety issue. I’m terrified of wrecking and they will not fix it without 1300.00. Called home office they won’t budge. This isn’t my fault the car has done this since I bought it. It’s not safe and I fear of causing a wreck when the brakes lock up again. They would rather me wreck than fix my car under the warranty. I have powers when they rest it when under the 60 days time frame but it didn’t fix the problem. Now I’m stuck with a huge bill on a car I bought to be safe in. Please help there needs to be a recall. After researching I see this is a common issue that Nissan refuses to fix. How many die before it’s corrected. This is a safety issue. Not a brush it off sort of problem. This could kill someone. Bought 01/2020 issues began 02-2020 and are still happening.

Driving on the highway about 65M mph, the forward emergency system (FEB), read an error message. Immediately the engine brake was activated causing the car to brake. I pulled over in the highway and turn off the engine, ERROR message for the FEB was not showing anymore. However few hours (2 hours) later, the FEB error message displayed again, causing the brake engine to kick in and stop the car. At the red light, when i push the gas to start, the RPM will go up to 6000 and the car won't move. Drivers behind me are at risk to slam my car rear end, because of the sudden braking from the FEB error.

THIS OCCURRED AT 8:00PM (NIGHT) AND ABOUT 20 FEET BEFORE A RAILROAD CROSSING ON A TWO-LANE STREET IN A RURAL TOWN, BUT THERE WAS NO TRAIN PRESENT. IT TOOK SEVERAL SECONDS TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR AND BEGIN DRIVING AGAIN. THE CAR FOLLOWING ME WAS FAR ENOUGH BEHIND TO AVOID A REAR COLLISION, AND WAS ABLE TO NAVIGATE AROUND MY STOPPED VEHICLE. I HAVE REPORTED THE OCCURRENCE TO FRED ANDERSON NISSAN OF ASHEVILLE, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON SEPT. 29, 2020, AND AM WAITING FOR THEIR RESPONSE ABOUT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM.

ON 11/22/020 WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE 605 FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 65 MILES AN HOUR, MY VEHICLE CAME TO A SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED STOP. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE ANTI COLLISION SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME AND THE DASHBOARD WARNING WAS INDICATING A MALFUNCTION ON THE EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM. I HAVE REPORTED THE TWO PRIOR INCIDENTS TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY HAVE STATED THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICE. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ORIGINAL SENSOR AFTER THE VEHICLE MADE A SUDDEN STOP SIX MONTHS AFTER I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT WAS STILL AN ISSUE AFTER THE REPLACEMENT AND THE DEALERSHIP THEN FELT ADJUSTING THE SENSORS DISTANCE WILL RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.. IT DID NOT... MY VEHICLE WAS ALMOST IN A COLLISION AS IT CAME TO ANOTHER SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED STOP AFTER A FEW MONTHS AFTER WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN IN THE INTERSECTION. THE DEALERSHIP CONTACTED NISSAN AND WERE ADVISED TO STABILIZE THE SENSOR WITH A BRACKET. NONE OF THE METHODS NISSAN HAS USED RESOLVED THE SENSOR MALFUNCTION. NISSAN DEALERSHIP INSISTED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND INSISTED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE SENSOR MALFUNCTION. ON 11/22/2020 MY VEHICLE ALMOST CAUSED A REAR END COLLISION AS IT AGAIN MADE A SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED STOP. THE DEALERSHIP FAILED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION AND DESPITE ME HAVING A VIDEO AND PICTURES OF THE DASHBOARDS WARNING LIGHT ON. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE IS A HAZARD ON THE ROAD AND CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE A SEVERE ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FAULTY EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM. IT WILL THEN BRAKE ON ITS OWN...SOMETIMES MORE SIGNIFICANTLY THAN OTHERS. I DO HAVE A PICTURE OF THE LIGHT GOING OFF WHICH I WILL ATTACH TO THIS COMPLAINT. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 6MOS AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES. I FEEL THIS CAR IS A LEMON. I ASKED FOR A COPY OF THE LETTER, BUT, OF COURSE, IT IS A "CONFIDENTIAL" DOCUMENT AND ONLY PRIVILEGED PARTIES ARE ABLE TO HAVE ACCESS TO IT. WHAT HAPPENS IS THERE WILL BE AN AUDIBLE BEEPING (TWO-THREE TIMES) AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR CAR WILL SLAM ON THE BRAKES ON IT OWN, WHICH IN TURN KICKS ON THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP, NISSAN OF VACAVILLE, ON 9-16-2017. ON 10-26-2017 WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE VEHICLE'S FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM (FEB) SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY ACTIVATED, BRING THE CAR TO A FULL AND COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE BRAKING SYSTEM DISENGAGED WITHIN A FEW SECONDS AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO ADVERSE CONDITIONS, OBSTRUCTIONS, OR VEHICLES WITHIN A DANGEROUS DISTANCE TO HAVE CAUSED THE ACTIVATION. THE DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS DISPLAYED THE ALERT MESSAGE "WARNING" "MALFUNCTION." THE VEHICLE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY TOWED TO AUTOCOM NISSAN OF CONCORD FOR SERVICE AND DIAGNOSIS. I WAS TOLD CODES U1002, C1B5D, AND C1A16-97 WERE STORED IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. C1A16-97 RELATES TO AN OBSTRUCTION OR BLOCKED RADAR SENSOR, BUT THAT ALL THE STORED CODES WERE IN THE PAST. C1A16-97 WAS STORED AT 1983 MILES - I EXPERIENCED NO ACTIVATION OF THE SYSTEM AT THAT TIME. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP THERE WERE NO STORED CODES RELATED TO TODAY'S INCIDENT. NISSAN TECH LINE MADE A REMOTE DIAGNOSIS AND CONCLUDED A LOOSE LICENSE PLATE FRAME LIKELY HAD CAUSED AND OBSTRUCTION, ACTIVATING THE SYSTEM. THIS IS IN CONFLICT WITH THE OWNERS MANUAL'S EXPLANATION OF FEB SHUT DOWN IN THE EVENT OF AN OBSTRUCTION. ON 12-19-2017 I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. AFTER FOUR DAYS OF DIAGNOSTIC AND ROAD TESTING I WAS TOLD THAT, ACCORDING TO NISSAN TECH LINE, SINCE THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE MALFUNCTION DURING THE TEST DRIVE, THEN THE CAR IS CONSIDERED OPERATIONAL AND SAFE AND COULD BE RETURNED TO THE CUSTOMER. AND ALTHOUGH FINDING MULTIPLE PAST CODES STORED ECM-UL00L, ASB-UL002, BCM UL000-00, UL000-01, CLB40-49, CLB30-49, UL000-00, ICC /ADAS-C1B53-04, CLB54-00, UL000-01 ALL INDICATION MALFUNCTION. THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED, I WAS DRIVING IN A GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT WITH A PERSONAL FRIEND AND SUDDENLY THE CAR'S EMERGENCY BRAKE PROTECTION ACTIVATED JOLTING THE CAR TO A STOP. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE WAS IN A PARKING DECK (DIFFERENT FROM THE FIRST LOCATION) AND THE CAR AGAIN ACTIVATED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PROTECTION SYSTEM JOLTING THE CAR TO A STOP. I THEN FELT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND BROUGHT THIS INTO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY CHECKED THE CAR AND CALLED REPORTING THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND I SHOULD PICK IT UP. I PICKED THE CAR UP AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT UNTIL I SWITCHED CARS WITH A PERSONAL FRIEND WHO USED THE CAR TO DRIVE ONE MILE BACK TO HOME DOWN A 4 LANE ROAD. UPON COMING TO AN INTERSECTION, SHE REPORTS SHE BEGAN SLOWING DOWN AND GOT IN A TURN LANE TO MAKE A LEFT ONTO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD ROAD AND AS SHE WAS APPROACHING THE LIGHT, THE CAR ACTIVATED THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM, AGAIN JOLTING THE CAR TO A STOP. SHE STATES DURING AND AFTER THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, SHE KEPT HER FOOT ON THE BREAK THE ENTIRE TIME AND WHILE DECOMPRESSING THE BRAKE, THE CAR THEN JOLTED FORWARD CRASHING INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER. I HAD THE CAR TOWED IN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND HAD CORPORATE NISSAN STEP IN TO INVESTIGATE THE CAR. 6 WEEKS LATER THEY INVESTIGATED THE CAR REPORTING THAT NO ERROR WAS FOUND WITH THE CAR AND AGAIN I SHOULD PICK MY VEHICLE UP. I REQUESTED SPECIFIC TESTS AND ASKED THE TESTING PROCESS FOR THE CAR AND WAS ADVISED BY THE INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT THAT THEY COULD NOT DISCLOSE THAT INFORMATION AND THAT THE TESTING AND RESULTS WERE "PROPERTY OF NISSAN" AND THAT THEY WERE NOT OFFERING ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE.

ON OCTOBER 11, 2017, THE VEHICLE'S 'INTELLIGENT SAFETY SHIELD' FEATURE CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO UNEXPECTEDLY BRAKE WHILE MOVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE 10 FREEWAY. THIS MALFUNCTION NEARLY CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURIES. WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY DID HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR INSPECTION. THEY HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 WEEK AND ARE NOW CONTACTING US REQUESTING THAT WE PICK UP THE VEHICLE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE OR EVEN KNOW 'EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS' IN THEIR OWN WORDS.

DISPLAY IN CENTRE OF DASH INDICATED " MALFUNCTION" CAR PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD, SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED. NO OTHER SIGNS OF PROBLEMS. NO OBJECTS OF ANY SORT WERE IN FRONT OF VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ON A ROAD THAT GOES UNDER A BRIDGE ON I-275. THE FRONT CAMERA SYSTEM MISTOOK THE BRIDGE FOR AN OBJECT ON THE ROAD AND ACTIVATED THE BRAKES. THE CAR BRAKED ON ITS OWN. THE CAR DID THIS ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON BOTH OCCASIONS. ON THE 2ND OCCASION NISSAN ENGINEERING DECLARED THE SYSTEM WORKED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS WITHIN ITS LANE OF TRAVEL WHEN APPROACHING THE BRIDGE.

WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH SNOW AND ICE THE FRONT GRILL OF THE VEHICLE BECAME COVERED WITH A COATING OF ICE. THIS BLOCKED THE FRONT RADAR DEVICE FROM WORKING. THEREFORE SHUTTING DOWN THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM AND THE AUTOMATIC COLLISION DETECTION SYSTEM WHICH BRAKES THE VEHICLE WHEN GETTING TO CLOSE TO A VEHICLE IN FRONT. THIS CONDITION PERSISTED EVEN AFTER PASSING THROUGH THE STORM BECAUSE THE TEMPERATURE WAS AT FREEZING OR BELOW. THIS OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY. THE ICE ON THE GRILL ONLY MELTED AFTER STOPPING, AND THE CRUISE CONTROL AND AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM RETURN TO NORMAL. WOULD THIS ICE BUILD-UP ON THE FRONT GRILL ALSO CAUSE A PROBLEM WITH THE RADIATOR AND THE COOLING SYSTEM?
