Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, the airbag warning light illuminated. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership in Texas for diagnosis. The technician confirmed that the airbag fault was present before the vehicle was sold to me. According to the diagnostic records, the selling dealer (Kelly Nissan in Oak Lawn, Illinois) had previously scanned the airbag system, identified an airbag fault code, cleared the code without performing the repair, and then proceeded to sell the vehicle. This means the airbag defect existed at the time of sale and was intentionally or negligently undisclosed. The system continues to show a malfunction indicator, and the Clay Cooley Nissan dealership in Richardson, Texas identified the issue as an electrical airbag system failure requiring a repair estimated at $2,304.15. This defect affects the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which may result in: Airbags failing to deploy during a crash Improper deployment Increased risk of injury or death The vehicle is unsafe to drive in its current condition. The selling dealer refuses to authorize repair outside Illinois, leaving me with an unsafe vehicle that cannot be feasibly transported. Nissan Corporate states this is the dealer's responsibility and will not intervene. Given that this defect relates directly to the federally regulated airbag safety system, I am requesting NHTSA’s investigation into whether this represents a broader issue of airbag system defects or improper clearing of airbag fault codes prior to sale by the dealer.

My vehicle was in for recall R22A6 / 22V-549 for the brake booster power supply since the brakes felt spongy and there was a loud ringing sound so we look around a round out about the recall. After the recall repair, all brake codes cleared except C1111 – ABS Pump Motor Failure. The part is still on the vehicle and available for inspection. They told us it was not safe to drive because we have press hard on the brake for the vehicle to stop because the braking system may not function properly, especially during sudden braking or slippery conditions. Nissan has acknowledged the failure through the dealership’s diagnosis. Prior to the recall repair, multiple brake system warning lights were illuminated. Nissan already has an ABS actuator recall (NHTSA Recall 18V-601) on several models from the same years (Murano, Maxima, Pathfinder).

The car is slow to accelerate when stopped and after a few seconds will kick in and "peel out". It shutters, stalls, and goes fast. I was turning left on a yellow light and the car just stopped. The oncoming traffic had to slam on brakes, swerve to miss me and the car peeled out suddenly. I was nearly T-boned with my kids in car, then nearly hit other cars when accelerated extremely fast. The dealer did recreate the issue and says it needs a new CVT transmission for $7,500. No warning of this problem. I thought it was the fuel injector or bad gas at first and had the fuel injector cleaned. I was never told that Nissan is known for this problem. Once I took back to dealer at 101K miles, that's when I was told it needed replaced. Conveniently after the warranty expired. This was bought for Nissan Dealer as a "certified used car" but it is a very dangerous car to drive period.

I was drivin during the day with no one in front of me and all of a sudden the car was beeping, an alert flashed on the dash and my car skidded to a stop. The alert flashed so quickly I wasn’t able to see what it was and I had no control over my car. Fortunately no one was behind me.

I am the owner of a 2017 Nissan Rogue SV FWD. Bought the vehicle back in October 2022 with a clear history with no prior accidents reported on the vehicle. Recently while driving to work, my brakes on my 2017 Nissan Rogue suddenly braked or locked up without me pressing the brake pedal. There was no vehicles in ahead of me nor in back of me yet still the brakes engaged. This has caused my 2017 Nissan Rogue to lose traction and hydroplane across the lanes on the freeway and in doing so sending me crashing into the concrete barrier in the medium. It has been raining that day and while it was raining at the time of the incident, me hydroplaning unexpectedly was inevitable. The impact with the concrete barrier send me careening backward to now face the oncoming traffic that were behind me more than two hundred feet away. I look to the dash and discovered the "automatic braking" light on. Not wanting to get struck by oncoming drivers, I managed to move my vehicle to a safe location and turn the engine off. I like to also add that the driver side airbag on the 2017 Nissan Rogue DID NOT deploy from the impact. No drivers or other vehicles were struck damaged or impact from the incident. I have started a claim on the night of the incident and my vehicle is currently being inspected by my insurance agent.

I was driving home from work and my car braked really hard without me touching the brake. The dash board light flashed a warning that was red and white and an alarm went off. This is available upon request. My safety was put at risk because this happened as I was accelerating through a green traffic light. There were people behind me who could have slammed into me, endangering me and them. This happened one other time last week but for a short period of time and it barely braked. It has not yet been inspected, but I plan to call my local dealership.

The automatic emergency braking system activated when there was no hazard. it was a full on panic stop with ABS engaging. The event lasted about 2 seconds. There were no other cars near by so there was no incident. This is the first time this has happened and the Rogue was fine for the rest of that drive. the front sensor was free from obstruction when looked at about 10 mins later.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle experienced unintended braking. The failure recurred approximately 3 days later. The contact stated that there was a RED triangle with an exclamation warning light indication a Critical Warning message. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.

The automatic emergency brake will activate when it's not supposed to. Then it will take several seconds for me to be able to drive again. This has caused me to almost be rear ended several times. I can turn the auto brake system off but it will come back on, on it's own.

The automatic braking system engaged four times randomly on 4/4 and 4/5/23 while driving on us hwy 70 in Nashville TN. There were no obstructions nearby when this occurred. Two of the incidents occurred while traveling approximately 45 to 50 mph almost resulting in a rear end collision from the driver behind. The other two incidents occurred at slower speeds making the vehicle almost impossible to drive. This was a significant safety concern since it occurred without warning. The Rogue is currently at action nissan in Nashville for diagnosis.

I was driving along East Passaic Bloomfield, New Jersey it’s a double Saul line two-lane roadway with four major exits into it Garden State Parkway etc. the person in front of me turn left over the Saul lines into a driveway, then put the car in reverse to back out of the driveway, straight across the double Saul lines to his house on the same side as he was going south right in front of my car this roadway is like a highway. The car went into a skid which it shouldn’t have. right in front of my car this roadway is like a highway. The car went into a skid which it should know with the antilock brake system, and upon contact the airbags did that a ploy deploy And upon contact airbags, didn’t deploy my wife, and I have to – my knees hit the dashboard. The person that caused the accident his company with State Farm and they put me at 15% liability which is totally wrong. I was sick at the time when they were going over the money they took thousands of dollars from me now my car is destroyed. They paid me to fix it, which doesn’t even cover the cost of the repairs. The car would have not gotten into the accident if it didn’t skid I would have been able to stop. I need Nissan to do something either replace this car or repair it because the accident should not have occurred. Airbags did not deploy and we got hurt. I’m not looking a lawsuit nothing like that. I want my car just fixed or replaced and the car does have recalls for electrical and other problems

My wife and I were driving down the street 2017 Nissan rogue. Number two driver illegally backed across double solid yellow line to go into his driveway. I hit the brakes the car started to skid at 30 miles an hour with antilock brake system should’ve kicked in upon the crash. The airbags did not deploy and airbags. Come out anywhere from 8 miles an hour on I was a mechanic for a long time my wife banged up her shoulder and her back and I’m disabled as it is and I hurt my legs really bad, banging against the dashboard, the driver from the other car insurance paid us some money but it was even close to what it be for the repairs and I do not let them know about the airbags or the antilock brake system. This was very bad if we were at high speed we would have been killed. I did not document this anywhere. I did not put it on social media. I’m keeping it to myself for now , I have films in pictures of how the action occurred and the gentleman is still backing into the driveway. State farm blame me 15%. They scammed me I’ve been very sick I was in essential worker under the governor of New Jersey or Hackensack Meridian, Genewiz labs and Terry’s pharmacy that I made sure people got their medication‘s where others would not deliver or bring to them. I actually became very ill and now I walk with a walker . I’m a disabled man with a wrecked car. I have a very high car payment that I can afford and I need help with this. I think Nissan should replace this car. It is dangerous. This car is dangerous and it has a recall for the water leak through the electrical that I smelt burning a couple times when it rains. This car is a fire bowl waiting to happen but like I said, I’m not posting on social media and not letting no insurance companies know about it. On 12/16/22 while going through an overpass on a expressway/thruway, my 2017 Nissan Rogue automatic emergency braking system suddenly, erroneously and dangerously activated. Vehicle sustained body damage in the course of the sudden, with no reason, defective AEB/FEB engagement. Vehicle was limped off of the expressway/thruway and I called 911 and Triple A for transport to the dealer. I have since learned that Nissan has had thousands of complaints about this serious safety defect. Vehicle is currently at the Nissan dealer being inspected. I do not understand why a recall has not been issued as yet for this ongoing serious safety defect. It is also my understanding that Nissan has issued several corrective action "bulletins" on this matter but there is no real fix. The problem persists. I would never have purchased this vehicle if I had been made aware of the serious safety defect. CarFax Report at time of purchase and service documentation at the dealers do not show that the vehicle ever received any corrective action prior to my purchase of the vehicle in November 2020. I will never feel safe again in this vehicle. I and the occupants of my car on 12/16/22 are lucky to be alive. This serious incident could have resulted in all of our deaths on the expressway/thruway.

The car starts beeping and the Red brake warning comes on. The beeping is continuous and at that point the brakes get stuck and stop working. My safety was compromised in that my car brakes failed while I was in traffic and I almost hit the Fedex truck in front of me. I knew something was wrong because 2 days before I had just replaced brand new brakes in my car This problem first appeared on September 28th. My car was bought brand new and has never had a problem. Car was towed to Nissan, they inspected and said the problem is the Recall issue since the symptoms are the same and they could not do anything about it because recall repair has not been released by Nissan. I took my car home and drove it the next day and exactly the same problem happened again. The brakes failed right in the middle of traffic again. Warning brake sign comes on, warning car with spanner comes on and then car beeps continuously non-stop and the brakes stop working right in the middle of driving.

My 2017 Nissan Rogue is accelerating and lunging on its own. My sister and her fiance were almost involved in two separate accidents due to this safety concern. My sister said as she was coming up to a stop light, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward, causing her to have to swerve into the next lane to avoid the accident. She said the vehicle then acted like it did not have enough power to accelerate forward again once it had stopped, however, my sister stated as she was attempting to get home after this incident; the vehicle accelerated/lunged forward again resulting in her having to swerve into the parking lot of a store to avoid another accident. My sister also stated that the traction control light flashed she the vehicle's RPMs got really high while she was driving it. This light did not stay on, but the check engine light has. My sister stated that once she got the vehicle home, she placed the vehicle in park and suddenly the RPMs on the Rogue maxed out, almost like you are pushing the pedal all the way to the floor while the vehicle is in Park or Neutral. My sister stated that once the RPMs went back down, the vehicle then stalled and has not started since.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that upon driving from a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond and the transmission slipped. The contact continued to depress the accelerator pedal and the vehicle responded by jolting inadvertently thirty minutes later. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring increasingly and the check engine light would illuminate intermittently. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at 30 MPH and approaching another vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond, causing the vehicle to crash into the rear end of the occupied vehicle. The airs bags failed to deploy and the seat belt failed to engage, causing the contact to hit her head against the windshield and hit her chest against the steering wheel. The contact sustain head injuries, memory loss, bruises on the chest, and whiplash. The contact did not seek medical assistance. The contact was unsure whether the other driver sustained injuries. A police report was filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to her mother-in-law's residence which was 2 to 3 blocks away. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.

While driving on 86th street in Indianapolis, Indiana on a trip, my 2017 Nissan Rogue abruptly and suddenly stopped with no warning whatsoever. I was driving at approximately 30 to 35 miles per hour at the time. The engine remained operating once the vehicle stopped. I pressed the gas pedal after the abrupt stop when the vehicle began to move forward.

The car even after reprogramming ICC/ ADAS radar is still having similar problems over again. The car when driving on an open road suddenly stops and stalls with a malfunction sign and a crash signal in the middle of highway. The car then does not starts and the above message prevents the RPM from increasing. It drives at idle speed with no acceleration. The car fixes back itself some times and restarts driving fine and after few miles, again in the middle of road, same incident happened when it stalled again and same malfunction message appeared. There is an open investigation by NHSTA currently about this incident as reported in majority of 2017 Nissan Rogue. It is a huge safety concern with increased risk of injury or death to self, passengers, and others. Nissan is not taking accountability for this.

I was driving 5mph at a drive through Xmas light display. While slowly driving through the display, the vehicle suddenly lunged forward followed by the emergency braking system engaging. Which brought the car to a sudden stop in front of the cars following behind us. I turned the car off then back on. Several lights on the dash remained on after restarting the car. I took it into the Nissan dealership in Rockwall, TX. They told me the ABS control module failed and needed to be replaced. Based on what I was doing at the time of the incident, this sudden failure could have resulted in a potential accident. The dealership also told me this is a know issue on other Nissan's and has been known to cause the vehicles to catch on fire.

My car brakes locked up for no reason as I was driving. I’ve called Nissan they did a “reset” on the braking system while I was under warranty. The car continues to flash malfunction and front radar disabled. My car beeps all the time on the road for zero reason. Now my cars warranty is out by a few miles and the refuse to fix it. This is a safety issue. I’m terrified of wrecking and they will not fix it without 1300.00. Called home office they won’t budge. This isn’t my fault the car has done this since I bought it. It’s not safe and I fear of causing a wreck when the brakes lock up again. They would rather me wreck than fix my car under the warranty. I have powers when they rest it when under the 60 days time frame but it didn’t fix the problem. Now I’m stuck with a huge bill on a car I bought to be safe in. Please help there needs to be a recall. After researching I see this is a common issue that Nissan refuses to fix. How many die before it’s corrected. This is a safety issue. Not a brush it off sort of problem. This could kill someone. Bought 01/2020 issues began 02-2020 and are still happening.

WHEN DRIVING AND STEERING, TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT, GOING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD, TURNING CURVES, THERE IS A CLICKING NOISE IN MY STEERING COLUMN. WHEN I PUT ON BRAKES IT DOES IT ALSO. I AM NOT SURE IF THERE IS SOMETHING INSIDE BROKEN OR LOOSE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A NISSAN DEALER AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING, BUT THEY HEAR THE NOISES, THE SERVICE MANAGER EVEN RECORDED THE NOISES. MY SEAT SLIDES ON THE POWER RACKING SYSTEM. MY SEAT WILL SIDE FROM FRONT TO BACK, ONLY A FRACTION, BUT IT ALSO SLIDES OR ROCKS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. I AM AFRAID THAT THE SEAT WILL COME UNATTACHED IF I AM IN A COLLISION. THE ABS WILL OFTEN MAKE THE FLASHING NOISE AND ATTEMPT TO BRAKE IF IT SEES A SHADOW ON THE ROAD, LIKE A PARKING GARAGE OR TREES OVER A ROAD. I HAVE ASKED THE NISSAN DEALER IN ASHEBORO SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANY ISSUES WITH THE 3 PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE LISTED. GRANTED I DID NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM, SO THEY REALLY DON'T WANT TO ASSIST ME. I PURCHASED THE EXTRA WARRANTIES, BUMPER TO BUMPER, AND THAT HAS NOT GIVEN ME ANY ASSISTANCE AS WELL. PLEASE HELP. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 20MPH, WITH NO VEHICLE OR OBSTRUCTION IN FRONT OF ME, MY ROGUE AUTOMATICALLY BRAKED, FLASHED A WARNING BAR IN THE DASH, AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE PHYSICALLY SHAKING AND MAKING A GRINDING NOISE. THE CAR HAD ENGAGED THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM WITHOUT CAUSE. THIS OCCURRED AT 8:00PM (NIGHT) AND ABOUT 20 FEET BEFORE A RAILROAD CROSSING ON A TWO-LANE STREET IN A RURAL TOWN, BUT THERE WAS NO TRAIN PRESENT. IT TOOK SEVERAL SECONDS TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR AND BEGIN DRIVING AGAIN. THE CAR FOLLOWING ME WAS FAR ENOUGH BEHIND TO AVOID A REAR COLLISION, AND WAS ABLE TO NAVIGATE AROUND MY STOPPED VEHICLE. I HAVE REPORTED THE OCCURRENCE TO FRED ANDERSON NISSAN OF ASHEVILLE, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON SEPT. 29, 2020, AND AM WAITING FOR THEIR RESPONSE ABOUT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM.

ON 11/22/020 WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE 605 FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 65 MILES AN HOUR, MY VEHICLE CAME TO A SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED STOP. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE ANTI COLLISION SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME AND THE DASHBOARD WARNING WAS INDICATING A MALFUNCTION ON THE EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM. I HAVE REPORTED THE TWO PRIOR INCIDENTS TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY HAVE STATED THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICE. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ORIGINAL SENSOR AFTER THE VEHICLE MADE A SUDDEN STOP SIX MONTHS AFTER I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT WAS STILL AN ISSUE AFTER THE REPLACEMENT AND THE DEALERSHIP THEN FELT ADJUSTING THE SENSORS DISTANCE WILL RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.. IT DID NOT... MY VEHICLE WAS ALMOST IN A COLLISION AS IT CAME TO ANOTHER SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED STOP AFTER A FEW MONTHS AFTER WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN IN THE INTERSECTION. THE DEALERSHIP CONTACTED NISSAN AND WERE ADVISED TO STABILIZE THE SENSOR WITH A BRACKET. NONE OF THE METHODS NISSAN HAS USED RESOLVED THE SENSOR MALFUNCTION. NISSAN DEALERSHIP INSISTED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND INSISTED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE SENSOR MALFUNCTION. ON 11/22/2020 MY VEHICLE ALMOST CAUSED A REAR END COLLISION AS IT AGAIN MADE A SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED STOP. THE DEALERSHIP FAILED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION AND DESPITE ME HAVING A VIDEO AND PICTURES OF THE DASHBOARDS WARNING LIGHT ON. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE IS A HAZARD ON THE ROAD AND CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE A SEVERE ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FAULTY EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM. THE DEALERSHIPS ADVICE IS TO GET BACK IN MY CAR BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE, THEY ALSO DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE VIDEO OR THE PICTURE OF THE DASHBOARD WITH THE MALFUNCTION WARNING DISPLAY.

2017 NISSAN ROGUE SL - PLATINUM. FORWARD IMPACT COLLISION SENSOR HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES FOR EVER A YEAR NOW. IT WAS IN THE SHOP AT THE DEALERSHIP THE WEEK AFTER I BOUGHT IT FOR THIS ISSUE. THE CAR BRAKES ON ITS OWN AND WONT LET YOU DRIVE FORWARD. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND REPORTED IT TO NISSAN USA MULTIPLE TIMES, AND HAVE MULTIPLE CASES OPEN. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD IT IN THEIR SHOP 8 TIMES SOON TO BE 9, WHICH IS 8-9 FULL DAYS IN THE SHOP (TAKING IT IN NEXT WEEK TO GET DONE AGAIN). THEY ARE NOW REFUSING TO REPLACE/FIX THE PART FOR FREE. THE CAR HAS THIS PROBLEM WHEN I AM TRYING TO DRIVE. IT HAS HAPPENED ON BACK STREETS, HIGHWAYS, TURNING LEFT, TURNING RIGHT. THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ON MY 2017 ROGUE ENGAGED YESTERDAY DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING AT ROUGHLY 60 MPH. WHAT A HORRIFICALLY TERRIFYING EVENT. I WAS TRAVELING WITHIN A SINGLE LANE ON A 3 LANE HIGHWAY WHEN OUT OF THE BLUE THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED AND THE CAR WENT FROM 60 MPH TO ABOUT 15-20 MPH IN A MATTER OF A COUPLE HUNDRED FEET. IT FELT AS THOUGH SEVERAL TIRES HAD BLOWN OUT AT ONCE OR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAD COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. I REMEMBER HEARING AN AUDIBLE CHIME AND SEEING SOMETHING ON THE CONSOLE PANEL FLASHING WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE RED WARNING LIGHT WHILE I WAS FIGHTING TO RETAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. WITHIN A PERIOD OF ABOUT 3-5 SECONDS THE WHOLE EVENT WAS OVER AND THE VEHICLE HAD ABRUPTLY SLOWED ITSELF TO THE AFOREMENTIONED SPEED. FORTUNATELY AT THE TIME THE TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT AND THERE WAS NOT ANOTHER VEHICLE DIRECTLY BEHIND ME OR THE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS EVENT WOULD HAVE ENDED TRAGICALLY. THE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE IS THAT THIS WAS RELATIVELY OPEN ROAD AT THE TIME AND THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES OR OBSTRUCTIONS IN FRONT OR TO THE SIDES OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. AFTER I EXITED THE INTERSTATE AND HEADED TOWARD MY BROTHER'S HOUSE, MY ROGUE JUST STOPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE STOP WAS SHORT, AND LUCKILY THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS NOT THAT CLOSE. ON AUGUST 16, 2019, WHILE DRIVING UNDER A TOLL BOTH ON A TURNPIKE, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED (FLASHING LIGHTS, WARNING BEEPS AND A GRINDING NOISE) WHILE I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 30 TO 40 MPH, CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL AND FORCIBLY JERK. THIS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO COLLIDE AGAINST THE TOLL BOOTH. THERE WAS NO OBSTRUCTION AHEAD. THIS HAD ALREADY HAPPENED 2 OTHER TIMES AND THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I TOOK IT IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT HAPPENED THE THIRD TIME AND THE DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEY HAD A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) AND REPROGRAMMED THE SENSORS. ON THEIR NOTES, THEY WROTE "REPROGRAM ICC AND ADAS CONTROL UNITS (WARRANTY) (APPLICABLE TSB)". I HAVE DRIVEN UNDER A TOLL BOOTH AFTER AND HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANYTHING SIMILAR, HOWEVER, THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL AS THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. IN EARLY 2018 THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM HAS TWICE FULLY ENGAGED BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP WHEN NO APPARENT OBSTRUCTION OR VEHICLE WAS OBSERVED. FORTUNATELY BOTH TIMES NOBODY WAS BEHIND ME. THE 1ST INCIDENT OCCURRED ON A CITY SURFACE STREET AT NIGHT. UPON RETURNING THE NEXT DAY I SAW METAL PLATES PLACED IN THE ROADWAY AT SAME LOCATION FOR CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES. AT THE TIME I SUSPECTED THE PLATES CAUSED THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM TO TRIGGER UNEXPECTEDLY. A SEVERAL WEEKS/MONTHS LATER THE SYSTEM AGAIN FULLY TRIGGERED WHEN CROSSING A RAILROAD TRACK ON A CITY SURFACE STREET. I ASSUMED SOMETHING ON THE CROSSING TRIGGERED THE RADAR, ALTHOUGH HAVE CROSSED MANY TIMES SINCE WITHOUT INCIDENT. BOTH TIMES THE BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED THERE WAS LITTLE TO NO WARNING IT WAS ABOUT TO, JUST VERY RAPID BEEPING AND IMMEDIATE BRAKE ENGAGEMENT. I HAVE ALSO HAD MULTIPLE INSTANCES WHERE THE RADAR BEGINS TO TRIGGER APPARENTLY DUE TO FENCE POSTS OR SIMILAR ITEMS ALONG ROADS, BUT DOES NOT ENGAGE THE BRAKE. I HAVE ALSO HAD MESSAGES THE COLLISION SENSOR HAS TURNED ITSELF OFF ONLY TO TURN ITSELF BACK ON SEVERAL HOURS LATER OR AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED. THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM SHOULD BE FIXED AS THE SUDDEN STOP SHOULD YOU BE IN TRAFFIC COULD EASILY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT AND MAY EVEN CAUSE WHIPLASH AMONG PSSENGERS IF TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED.

A PHONE CALL TO NISSAN STATED WE SHOULD BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO AGAIN HAVE IT SERVICED AT THE PREVAILING RATE. THE VEHICLE IS 500 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY SO THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE.

AFTER SEVERAL WARNING BEEPS, THE EAB SYSTEM STARTED ENGAGING THE BRAKES, INDICATING THAT A CRASH WAS IMMINENT. AGAIN, THERE WAS NO CARS NEAR OR BY US. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED BY THE CAR, AND IT TOOK A MOMENT BEFORE THE BRAKES EASED UP AND I COULD APPLY THE GAS PEDAL. WE WERE GOING STRAIGHT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION.

AT 11,500 THE CAR DECREASED IN BRAKING ABILITY. THE DEALER WAS GOING TO CHARGE AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT JUST TO LOOK AT THE BRAKES. TOOK THE CAR TO OUR RELIABLE MECHANIC TO RECEIVE THE TRUST AND NOT BE RIPPED OFF. THE ROTORS ARE GLAZED WHICH PREVENTS THE BRAKES TO STOP THE CAR QUICKLY. NISSAN REFUSED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM. IT IS DRIVABLE BECAUSE IT DOES STOP, JUST NOT QUICKLY. BUT AT INSPECTION TIME, IT PROBABLY WON'T PASS. AT 13,100, THE SERPENTINE BELT AND THE ALTERNATOR LET GO WHILE DRIVING. THIS WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, BUT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AT 13,100 MILES. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. THE CAR JERKED AND PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AND TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP.

THEY HAD FIRST TRIED AN UPDATE AND THEN DECIDED TO REPLACE THE SENSOR. OBVIOUSLY THIS DID NOTHING SINCE THE SENSOR STILL DID NOT WORK A WEEK LATER. I TOOK THE CAR BACK IN AGAIN AND NISSAN SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THEY TOLD ME I HAD THE OPTION TO TURN THE FEATURE OFF BUT EVERY TIME I TURN THE CAR ON I HAVE TO REMEMBER TO TURN THE FEATURE OFF AS IT AUTOMATICALLY TURNS ITSELF BACK ON AGAIN. THIS SEEMS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME THAT I AM PAYING LOTS OF MONEY FOR A CAR WITH A FEATURE THAT HAS ALREADY PUT MY LIFE, AS WELL AS OTHERS' LIVES IN DANGER!

THURSDAY, 18 APRIL 2019 @ APPROXIMATELY 2300 HOURS MY SPOUSE AND GRANDDAUGHTER WERE RETURNING FROM A PLAY, WHILE PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY OF OUR RESIDENCE OUR VEHICLE REPEATED EMERGENCY BRAKING AND LOCKED STEERING ACTION. I HAVE ALREADY REACHED TO THE INSURANCE WHERE I WOULD JUST NEED TO PAY $500 DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE FIX HOWEVER THE FIX WOULD ONLY HANDLE THE BUMPER FIXING AND NOT THE FACT THAT THE CAR IS DEFECTIVE. I'D OBVIOUSLY DON'T WANT TO KEEP THIS CAR. IN THIS CASE I'D BE LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE WITH NISSAN, WITH LEASE TERMINATION AND WITH BODY INJURIES. NISSAN REQUIRES THE CAR TO BE UNTOUCHED FOR THEIR 'INVESTIGATION' IN A CERTIFIED LOCATION (THEY CLAIM MY CURRENT SHOP IS NOT CERTIFIED EVEN THOUGH IT IS LISTED IN THEIR SITE IT IS) WHERE THE ENTIRE PROCESS WOULD TAKE BETWEEN 4-12 WEEKS. DURING THIS TIME THE CAR CAN'T BE TOUCHED AND OF COURSE NOT DRIVEN. NO RESOLUTION OFFERED TO MEANTIME TRANSPORTATION AND EXPENSE COVERAGE.

THEY TOLD ME TO TURN OFF THE PROXIMITY ALERT SYSTEM TO HELP PREVENT THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH NISSAN'S COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND RESOLVED. WHILE ON CITY STREETS, TRYING TO COME TO A STOP I APPLIED THE BREAKS AND NOTHING HAPPENED, I THEN HAD TO LET OFF THE PEDAL AND REAPPLY PRESSURE TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP. I TOOK THE CAR INTO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY REFUSED TO LOOK AT THE CAR BECAUSE I HAVE HAD IT IN TO HAVE THE BREAKS, ENGINE HESITATION, EXTENDED ENGINE CRANK, AND AN A/C PROBLEM FIXED 6 TIMES IN 5 MONTHS. NISSAN HAS A TSB OUT FOR AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT HAS THEM RESET THE COMPUTER BUT IT DOES NOT FIX ANY ISSUES. NISSAN TOLD ME TO GET THE PROBLEMS TO STOP I NEED TO CYCLE THE KEY. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE I FIGURED OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. I'VE SINCE RESORTED TO TURNING OFF THE FEATURE WHILE DRIVING TO AVOID HAVING MY CAR STOP SUDDENLY. HOWEVER, THIS PAST WEEKEND AFTER FORGETTING TO TURN THE FEATURE OFF (WHICH YOU HAVE TO DO EVERY TIME YOU START THE CAR), MY FEB DEPLOYED AS WELL AS THE ABS LIGHT, THE SLIP LIGHT, AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN NOTHING WAS IN THE ROAD. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MOVE THE CAR TO SAFETY, THE FEB KEPT ON SLOWING ME DOWN AND THE BRAKES FELT AS IF THEY WERE GRINDING THE ENTIRE DRIVE. I TRIED TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON MULTIPLE TIMES TO SEE IF THE SYSTEM WOULD RESET ITSELF, BUT IT WOULDN'T. I CALLED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE IT CURRENTLY STILL IS. THEY HAVE YET TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO RESOLUTION YET.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO M'LADY NISSAN LOCATED AT 5656 NORTHWEST HWY, CRYSTAL LAKE, IL 60014, (815) 459-2288 TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,700.

IMPACT FROM STOPPED CAR TO WALL IS LESS THEN 2 FT, BUT CAR IMPACTED WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO DAMAGE FRONT AND SIDE PANELS (SEE PHOTO).

SUNDAY JANUARY 28, 2018 A SECOND TOTALLY UNNECESSARY DEPLOYMENT AGAIN OCCURRED, THIS TIME AT @ 8:43 AM. I WAS AGAIN ON THE SOUTHBOUND MAJOR DEEGAN EXPRESSWAY, HAVING ENTERED SOUTH OF YONKERS AVENUE, BUT THIS TIME IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE ON A SLIGHT DOWNHILL CURVE TO THE LEFT, PAST MCLEAN AVENUE OVERPASS, SPEED 52 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, WHEN THE FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY DEPLOYED, FOR ABOUT 2 TO 3 SECONDS. AGAIN, THERE WAS NO CAR IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF ME; NO DEBRIS ON THE ROADWAY; NOTHING THAT WOULD ALERT THE SENSOR. AFTER EMAILING THE YORKTOWN NISSAN NEW CAR DEALER LAST WEEK JANUARY. 25TH AFTER THE FIRST SUCH INCIDENT, SEVERAL HOURS LATER I HAD RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. I THEN CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS DIRECTED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE RECEPTIONIST WOULD NOT PUT ME THROUGH TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, BUT INSTEAD ALLEGEDLY SPOKE WITH A SERVICE DEPT. PERSON, AND REPLIEDY TO ME THAT "MOST LIKELY THERE IS DIRT COVERING THE SENSOR". I INQUIRED WHERE THE SENSOR IS, AND WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE. SHE REPLIED "THE SENSOR LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE CAMERA AND IT'S EITHER IN YOUR GRILL OR IN YOUR BUMPER". I EXAMINED THE SENSOR BUT DID NOT DETECT ANY PIECE OF DIRT OR ANYTHING COVERING THE SENSOR. I'M VERY WORRIED ABOUT THIS UNEXPLAINED EMERGENCY DEPLOYMENT OF THE FORWARD BRAKING SYSTEM, AND WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSE ON THIS MATTER, AND WHO TO CONTACT TO SEE IF OTHER NISSAN OWNERS HAVE SIMILAR EXPERIENCES, AND TRY TO IDENTIFY IF THERE IS ANY DEFECT IN THE SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN TOWARD A FOUR LANE INTERSECTION WITH TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROL. AS THE VEHICLE APPROACHED THE INTERSECTION AND THE RED LIGHT, THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND NEVER SLOWED THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE OPEN LANES TO THE RIGHT AND THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED OVER TO THIS OPEN LANE AND NEVER SLOWED. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO AND THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. NO CROSS TRAFFIC VEHICLES WERE IMPACTED AND THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE ROAD AND SLOW THE VEHICLE AS IT WENT UP AN INCLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS REPORTED THAT NO MECHANICAL FAILURES WERE FOUND. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 8000 MILES ON IT,

TAKATA RECALL: THIS INVOLVES A 2017 NISSAN ROGUE LEASED A BILL SIEDLE NISSAN OF MIAMI. ON NOVEMBER 15, 2017 WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN THE VEHICLE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ("FEB") TURNED ON AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I NOTICED A CRACKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THEIR PERSONNEL TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN VANDALIZED WITHOUT THEM MAKING ANY DIAGNOSTICS. I TOLD THEM THAT THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF VANDALISM BUT THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO THE VEHICLE UNTIL I CONTACTED MY AUTO INSURANCE COMPANY (USAA). USAA NOTIFIED ME THAT THE VEHICLE MY HAVE AN AIRBAG RECALL TO CONTACT NISSAN CORPORATE OFFICE AND/OR SEARCH GOOGLE FOR ANY COMPLAINTS AND/OR PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE VEHICLE BEFORE CONSIDERING FILING AN INSURANCE CLAIM REGARDING THIS MATTER.

DISPLAY IN CENTRE OF DASH INDICATED " MALFUNCTION" CAR PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD, SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED. NO OTHER SIGNS OF PROBLEMS. NO OBJECTS OF ANY SORT WERE IN FRONT OF VEHICLE.

I HAVE A SHORT COMMUTE TO WORK DOWNTOWN WHERE I HAVE TO PARK IN A PARKING STRUCTURE. THIS FRIDAY MORNING THE CAR WAS DRIVING FINE UNTIL I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE. AS I TRIED TO SLOWDOWN THE VEHICLE INTO PARKING, THE CAR DID NOT STOP. I PUMPED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TWICE BEFORE HITTING THE CONCRETE WALL ON THE 6TH FLOOR OF THE STRUCTURE. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING ON THE ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIRS, BUT I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
