On [XXX], my grandson and I went to the Nissan Dealership, 1777 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 7080 to inquire about a safety recall of the key fob for a 2017 Nissan Rogue. My grandson was told that he could make an appointment for the dealership to insert a block in the fob so the key remains in the extended position. That position is very difficult to carry in a men's pants pocket. It is also a cheap remedy to the problem. As we were driving along the freeway to make a U-turn, the car stopped mid-turn, with oncoming traffic both behind him and in front. He tried to restart the car but it didn't start. He tried again and it finally started. I cannot believe the NHTSA would allow Nissan to treat this safety issue so callously just to save a few dollars. I am now constantly worried for my grandson and regret helping him buy this vehicle to attend college. We purchased the vehicle on [XXX] so we were checking things out. The muffler diffuser , a part of the exhaust system, suddenly and without warning failed as I was driving on the freeway. There were no warnings or indications of a problem until the passenger side joint failed as I was driving but the driver side joint was still attached and sticking out from the back of the car. This happened as I was driving on the freeway and when it happened I just heard a loud rattling sound. Since one side was still attached I was dragging/scraping the metal part on the freeway without realizing it, which could have caused a spark/ fire or if it had broken off completely an accident for myself or others. If it had continued to bend it could have gotten caught up in my wheels or worse. This is a hazard/danger in my opinion. The vehicle hasn’t been inspected by anyone other than my dad as of this moment. He was able to unscrew the diffuser so I could drive the car otherwise the car would have been a giant safety hazard and undriveable. The broken diffuser is still in my possession.

my Door Lock Actuator has failed on my passenger side front seat door. This poses a safety risk potentially trapping my family inside or allowing doors to swing open while driving. I could also think I locked my doors, however it did not lock and can lead to theft. In 2010, a different car I had was stolen and I still have anxiety about this, so this added level of potential theft has increased my anxiety when going places. My local Goodyear repair shop inspected the actuator and advised that it has failed. There were no warnings or messages that were presented when this started occurring. This started summer of 2025 and gets worse as time goes on.

AC HVAC driver side where the blend door slot for actuator is stripped. The AC is stuck at heater and with out any AC in this heat I almost pass out while driving and almost hit people in the side walk but since it has a curve it hit my right side bumper on a bushes.

I purchased a 2017 Nissan Rogue used from a Nissan dealership with 58,617 miles. At around 99,000 miles, the vehicle began experiencing dangerous hesitation and shuddering. A certified Nissan dealer diagnosed a failure of the CVT transmission, specifically citing Code P17F2 (Judder Condition). I was quoted over $6,000 for the repair. This issue matches known Nissan CVT defects that have been subject to multiple lawsuits and technical service bulletins, but my VIN was not included in prior coverage extensions. Nissan denied my request for Goodwill Repair Assistance despite having documentation from their own dealer. This failure poses a safety concern and appears to be the result of a widespread manufacturer defect that has not yet been formally recalled for all affected VINs. I am submitting this to request investigation and accountability.

The collision light came on and everywhere online says it’s a recall but Nissan doesn’t show it as a recall in their system. It states the the car will stop suddenly when light comes on thinking cars are around but nobody is around. It’s not safe. I’m getting it fixed right now but I’m having to pay money because my car isn’t listed as a recall for this.

Car was missing when driving and completely lost transmission. Car woudnt move when out in gear. I had to get car towed to mechanic and nissan service center Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, NISSAN dealership confirmed that transmission has failed and needs to be replaced with new Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, inspected by NISSAN service center Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No Warning messages in the car. The same day while driving, engine started missing. Same day, it stopped moving completely. Summary: Extremely disappointed with my 2017 Nissan Rogue. At just 35,000 miles, the transmission failed due to a known manufacturing issue. Car will not drive anymore when put in gear. Despite a $277.7 million settlement for defective CVT transmissions in vehicles like mine (2014-2018 Rogues), Nissan refuses to cover my full repair costs. Three times in recent months vehicle has responded sluggish after coming to a stop. Two of those times were extended periods in stop amd go traffic greater than 20 minutes. 8/10/2024 event inexplicable as had stopped briefly and only driving for 5-10 minutes. Gas pedal must be fully depressed to get vehicle to move. When it finally responds it barely moves, RPMs Rev to 3,000 and stay there. In most recent episode 9/12/2024 I realized gas pedal was responding sluggishly after stopping for a light, but seemd to get in gear as normal. At 8 miles vehicle would barely resume rolling after a stop, gas pedal had to be floored, engine revved to 3,000 RPMs and acted like stuck in wrong gear, same as other 2 events. Like other times, no warning lights or gauges before or during event. After turning off vehicle and back on it returned to normal function, no indication there had been a problem. Not sure if this is a transmission problem or a computer problem, but a search of the internet reveals this is a common problem for Nissan Rogue owners. Many accounts read similar to mine. Not sure I can trust this vehicle anymore.

The liftgate has been malfunctioning. It will go up, and out of now where completely falls. It has fell on me and my 1 year old when I was getting something in the trunk and had to quickly throw my 1 year old into the trunk so he did not get injured, but it fell on my back. My car was taken to the dealership on [XXX] to confirm there is something mechanically wrong with the liftgate. There were no warning signs of the trunk just dropping. My car is a 2017 Nissan Rogue hybrid. It jerks a lot when moving, when it starts moving, I feel that the electric engine does not provide power and it switches to a gasoline engine, while the car jerks strongly and can jerk sharply when I release the gas pedal. When moving backwards, it also jerks strongly; when moving uphill, you have to press the gas pedal hard to climb the hill. I found out that this car model often had problems with the brakes and the Nissan company repaired these cars and recalled them. 2022-2024 Nissan CVT Transmission Settlement Update (Rogue ... Nissan agreed to pay over $277 million as part of the settlement to resolve certain defective transmissions claims. The following Nissan models are included in the 2022 Nissan CVT settlement: 2014 – 2018 Nissan Rogue. 2015 – 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. One of the auto mechanics reported that when you press the gas pedal a little, the electric motor does not push the car, does not move the car forward, there is no force in it. But already when driving, it is triggered, since the car is on the move and moves by inertia. This auto mechanic reported that the problem is with this electric motor and it is attached to the transmission, and to replace it, you need to completely change the transmission with this electric motor. I ask you to please help me in solving this problem, because of this I am very worried and worried, it is difficult to communicate with Nissan representatives.

The heat in my vehicle only works on the passenger side. It does not blow out warm or hot on the driver's side. This is due to a stripped actuator in the blend door. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. I live in Colorado where it gets very cold. Because the heat doesn't work on the driver's side, the windshield doesn't defrost well. This is a hazard because I cannot see through my windshield when I'm driving and it's cold out. Yes, this problem was inspected and confirmed by a local Nissan Dealer in Lakewood, Colorado. There are no warning messages. There are a LOT of other people having this exact same problem. See some of the blogs below. I have water leak and mold growing in the passenger side of the vehicle for about a month. I took car to Rockaway Nissan, where i bought the vehicle. The dealer Stated that, they found sunroof drain hoses clogged with water and debris causing back flow of water into cabin which they claimed cleared and tested for leak and should remedy the issue. Unfortunately, i am still having the leak even after the work they did. I took my car to get inspected and check for leak again. Now they are saying that they don't know where the water is coming from and they advised me that it is safety hazard to drive this car and advised me to call Nissan Corporate office directly. I called Nissan Consumers affairs, and they are saying that it is the dealer that is supposed to fix not them. am worried that driving this car can create fire and other safety hazard with all this water leaking. Intake manifold part number 14001-7FH0C broke down while driving. Vehicle would not accelerate, when taken to mechanic, the code indicated that the intake manifold needs to be replaced. Nissan is aware of this and i have a case number with them. Case # [XXX] I was on the freeway when this happened, me and my wife were both very worried because there was no exit nearby as we were going up and down hills with other vehicles going around us. The component was inspected by a mechanic at Sun Devil Auto. I contacted the Nissan dealership and when they received the code error, they said I did not need to bring the vehicle in for inspection as that part is needed to be replaced. There were no warnings, no symptoms, and no warning lamps initially. This all happened as I was on a road trip from Gilbert, AZ to Williams, AZ. Then suddenly before I reached Payson, AZ it stopped accelerating. It took about 3 hours of driving this way maybe between speeds of 35-40mph back from Payson, AZ to Gilbert, AZ before the check engine light ignited and I was able to get the vehicle diagnosed at my nearest mechanic. I ordered the intake manifold and paid for it on 7/31/2023, but it has been on backorder because they stopped production on the original version and only want to sell an "updated" version of it as this failure known to Nissan USA Inc. Twice in two years the sunroof drains have clogged causing severe water leaking into the cabin of the vehicle. The first time, the dealer cleaned them out and took everything out of my car to clean it, including seats and carpet. Now they are saying I will have to pay for it. Nissan has a recall regarding a leak into the dash side harness, I am wondering if this is only on vehicles with sunroofs. I talked to Nissan, they said there is nothing they will do for the issue. When I called the service department at the local Nissan dealer, I was told by one of their managers, "Thats why I will never buy a Nissan with a sunroof". This is clearly a known issue, there are thousands of people talking about this issue on forums. I was criticized when I was asked if the vehicle is usually parked outside. I told them that it was, which is not an abnormal practice in the US. Basically they said its my fault for the leak because I park outside. The main issue now is that the car is so waterlogged that it is starting to mold or mildew. Everything in the car is soaked, it is unusable. I do not understand how they know about this issue but have not done a recall to fix it.

I was contacted by the dealer via a letter indicating the vehicle could have a recall. I failed to ask them what it was when I called to make an appointment. When I visited the dealer's service department, I was surprised to be referred to a salesperson (you see, one of the options is for the car owner to sell their vehicle and get a new one). I believe this practice is deceptive and dealers should not be allowed to send letters using the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and insinuating that there may be a recall associated with the vehicle.

Nissan Rogue's rear door has a sharply angled edge (right below the outside door nob/handle), which can be dangerous for young kids. While getting out of the rear door, my son who is 4 years old hit his head on the angled edge of the door and cut his head. Looking at other cars in the same class, most other doors have smoothed angled edge or relatively straight edge with no angled edge.

The sunroof self combusted (not rock or object hit it) while driving on the freeway. It shattered and pieces were flying off until I could stop. I believe there is some defect with that glass and or the protective coating that causes this from what I have learned. It is extremely dangerous and thankfully we had the sunroof cover closed.

The ignition key on the jack knife key fob unlocked itself into the folding position, which pulled the key out of my vehicle's ignition while I was in motion on a freeway going approximately 60 mph on highway 99. My whole vehicle suddenly began slowing down without me realizing what had happened. I was able to safely pull to the side of the road and discovered the jack knife key fob had unlocked hanging downwards forcing the ignition key to come halfway out of the ignition. No warning lights went off.

It started working.Then stopped again several hours later. Then turned off again for 1hr. Liftgate malfunction. Liftgate of vehicle was found open when entering our garage despite previous night it being utilized and closed. I pressed the button on the liftgate to close the liftgate and both my husband and I witnessed it closing and heard the usual "click" sound that liftgate had closed completely. We entered the vehicle, and my husband started the vehicle. As he was slowly moving forward out of the garage, we suddenly heard beeping and the liftgate was opening without warning, hitting the top of the garage, causing the rear glass in the liftgate to shatter and damage to the rear wiper and liftgate paint. The plastic inner cover came off also. My husband moved the car to the street to clean out the class from the back, closed the liftgate and a few minutes later it rose again automatically without warning. When we brought the vehicle in for repair we mentioned what had occurred and asked that it be checked for accurate operation.

My wife and I were driving down the street 2017 Nissan rogue. Number two driver illegally backed across double solid yellow line to go into his driveway. I hit the brakes the car started to skid at 30 miles an hour with antilock brake system should’ve kicked in upon the crash. The airbags did not deploy and airbags. Come out anywhere from 8 miles an hour on I was a mechanic for a long time my wife banged up her shoulder and her back and I’m disabled as it is and I hurt my legs really bad, banging against the dashboard, the driver from the other car insurance paid us some money but it was even close to what it be for the repairs and I do not let them know about the airbags or the antilock brake system. This was very bad if we were at high speed we would have been killed. I did not document this anywhere. I did not put it on social media. I’m keeping it to myself for now , I have films in pictures of how the action occurred and the gentleman is still backing into the driveway. State farm blame me 15%. They scammed me I’ve been very sick I was in essential worker under the governor of New Jersey or Hackensack Meridian, Genewiz labs and Terry’s pharmacy that I made sure people got their medication‘s where others would not deliver or bring to them. I actually became very ill and now I walk with a walker . I’m a disabled man with a wrecked car. I have a very high car payment that I can afford and I need help with this. I think Nissan should replace this car. It is dangerous. This car is dangerous and it has a recall for the water leak through the electrical that I smelt burning a couple times when it rains. Recall for water potentially leaking into drivers side dash harness connector…which could cause battery discharge and thermal damage to connector (along with other possible problems). About two weeks prior to receiving the recall letter…my Rogue started having major battery issues - such as, thick blue corrosion on and around both terminals, all down the cables/wiring, and circuit board attached. Got the alternator checked, bought a new battery, and still…same problems. It hasn’t been reliable enough to drive. The day I call to make an appointment at the Nissan Dealership, I received the letter of the recall (1/23/23). The letter states to call and make an appointment to get it fixed ASAP. After finally talking to someone who had little knowledge on the recall AND couldn’t even tell me what the part is or where it was. I was then informed that they do not have the parts to fix it because Nissan doesn’t have them available yet….and to call back in a couple weeks cause they had no knowledge when parts would even be available! After telling him my issues, he informs me that Nissan recommends not to drive it whatsoever and to unhook my battery completely…due to major fire potential. I live 25 minutes from town, out in the country with my 84 year old grandmother…with NO other vehicle options available. The dealership doesn’t offer any sort of rental car service and didn’t seem to care or even offer any other options. I have a job and a grandmother I look after. I’m not one to complain, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the fact, the problems my car is experiencing, fall under this recall is VERY nerve racking to know I was at risk of my car catching on fire while driving it or even having my battery hooked up while it’s parked!

I was driving to work and it was about 3 degrees and sleeting. I couldn’t keep my windshield from icing over because the heater was not working right. I get to work, finally, and when I leave work that day my heater was not blowing hot air very much. I make it home, later go to warm up my car and the heater doesn’t work at all. It wouldn’t blow and air. The blower or motor was froze. I call Nissan and the guy in the service department tells me he’s had a lot of calls about that. He said when it warms up it should start working. Sure enough a day later when the temperature goes up a little the blower starts working. Now it does not blow very hot. It was very dangerous driving to work and my windshield freezing over. It had never done that before.

While I am driving my car will beep and say malfunctioning and drop the please power as I push on the peddle, and it's hard for me to gain more speed as the speed limit increases. If I am to slow down or stop at a red light then start to go again my car takes a few minutes to get to the speed limit it's like the car has bo power going it is. Today I pulled into fhe road after leaving a store and was only going 3 miles an hour my car did not want to go this is berry dangerous to be driving this way. The part is on back order and can't get it to fix the problem, my mechanic said if it's not fixed it could cause other problems like cause my Cadillac converter to go. This should be recalled if it's in such high demand and this should be on Nissan if I can't buy the part to fix my car it's verry unsafe and needs to be fixed

A/C does not work properly, air does not blow into the cabin no matter how high you turn the fan or if you change any of the settings. Brought it in for service on 9/11/19 the AC condensor-N was changed and freon added. Brought it in again for service on 3/17/20 the Mass air flow sensor-n was changed. Brought it in again for service on 2/2/21 the A/C o-rings were replaced and freon added again. It is now 8/22/22 and the same thing is happening again.

Was notified about a recall on my vehicle the beginning of February 2022 and have been in contact with my local Nissan dealer several times. It is now August and their has been no more notification on a possible repair for a safety recall on my vehicle. called multiple times at least once per month. I'm just very worried about operating/driving the vehicle with the type of recall that is out on the vehicle and was looking for more information on what to do because of it. For reference I live in southern Louisiana and drive thru rain and my roads are prone to flooding in heavy rains so it puts my vehicle at risk because of the recall with the wiring harness and water intrusion. So this makes me very worried about potential accidents that could occur especially in hurricane season.

issue started with crank no start, internal lights flashing, then power steering and check engine light came on. after a few more tries starting vehicle, driver side window stops functioning, all internal lights are flashing when any button is pressed, and key fob stops connecting to the vehicle.

The front engine sub-frame bushings separated at 63,339 miles. No warning just vibration in engine compartment. This could potentially affect handling steering. The subframe has been replaced by a Nissan dealership.

I left my car in park and running on the driveway. I went out to turn it off, opened the drivers side door and went to push the button to turn it off. The car started rolling down the driveway I tried to stop it as it rolled into the street. I hurt my foot/leg and the car eventually stopped when it went up on a curb and hit my neighbors landscape wall The contact has mentioned the extent to which they were injured that required the use of crutches and a walking boot. The vehicle is still in their possession.

The sunroof on my 2017 Nissan Rogue exploded. I was driving down the freeway (paved), no cars in front of me for as far as I could see. Outside temperature was 100-degrees, driving roughly 60-65mph. Suddenly there was a very, very loud CRASH/POP! I was extremely startled. Thankfully I maintained control of my vehicle as my whole body tensed up. I looked around wondering what just happened (sounded like a shotgun) - as I looked in the rear view mirror I saw chunks of glass fly off the top of my vehicle, and I was now hearing wind, as if my sunroof were open, although all windows were closed & the AC was on high. I pulled over to see what happened & found shattered glass & a gaping hole - about 2 1/2 feet by 1 1/2 feet across, with obvious signs that it blew outward. The entire thing is shattered. Thankfully I had the fabric barrier closed, otherwise I would've been pelted/showered with shards of glass. As far as the list of questions... no warning lights or signs that a fail was eminent. I have not yet contacted my insurance. And I have sent an message to Nissan but am awaiting their reply.

Air Conditioner stops working on long drives roughly 45 minutes in. Cold air does not always come through the vents to the interior. You can hear the blower working, and the compressor working, but the air flow is very weak, even warm.

Sunroof shattered randomly.

2017 Nissan Rogue has 118k miles and never had a lick of problem, till this morning when the CVT failed. The dealership to where I purchased the used Rogue, stated that the transmission is the stated problem when plugged to the computer system. No specifics and now the cost to repair is $4,900.00. From what I have read, Nissan is aware of the CVT issues, so why not provide a recall to fix or mitigate the damage to the customers. Why hasn't Nissan addressed this issue instead of sweeping it under the carpet.

23 October approximately 1430 hours. 2017 Nissan Rogue stalled on highway , no dash lights were on, no power. Had to coast to shoulder of highway. Waited a few minutes. The vehicle started back up. 23 October approximately 1630 hours. Rogue stalled on highway , no dash lights were on, no power. Had to coast to shoulder of highway. Waited a few minutes. The vehicle started back up. Called the dealer, Watermark Nissan in Madisonville KY. Made an appointment for them to check/diagnosis problem. Took the Nissan Rogue to Watermark Nissan on 1 November and again on 10 November. Dealer could not diagnose problem. I drove vehicle home without incident. On 3 December at approximately 1100 hours I was driving the 2017 Nissan Rogue to Clarkesville TN. The Rogue stalled again on the highway, all dash lights were out, no power. I was stuck in the middle of the right hand lane on the highway. Traffic was lined up behind me and couldn’t get around me. I waited a few minutes and the Rogue started back up. I immediately drove the 2017 Nissan Rogue back to the dealer on 3 December and left the Rogue with them for repair/diagnosis. I told them I was not driving the car until they repaired it. I also told them the car was a safety hazard and to continue to drive it would be a hazard and may cause injury or death. On 6 December, Watermark Nissan called me and said they could not find the problem with my Nissan Rogue and that I needed to come get the vehicle, which they did not repair.

At approximately 68,000 miles and in April 2021, my 2017 Nissan Rogue SL began exhibiting a lag in acceleration from a complete stop. Upon pressing the accelerator, there would be a 3-4 second delay before the engine and rpms would engage and the car would simply crawl forward in that time. I felt the need to try pumping the gas pedal to try to get it to go but that didn't help. After several seconds, it would accelerate and the rpms would go up normally. After doing this three to four times after complete stops, the car goes into "limp home mode," in which it will not shift gears or accelerate above 45 mph. Stopping and turning off the engine, waiting 45-90 seconds, and then restarting almost always resets the car so that it will perform normally again for a little while. But it always recurs, especially if I spend any time idling, such as at a traffic light or in a school pickup line. This is very dangerous, as I am not able to count on my car to get me through traffic when turning onto a road or crossing a road at intersections. I fear being unable to get out of the way of oncoming traffic with that delay in accleration. The Nissan dealership mechanics have looked at the car for this problem twice and have been unable to resolve the issue at this time. They say it could have something to do with the electrical harness, which is costly to repair and the car is no longer under warranty. The mechanics have been unable to recreate the problem, though it happens frequently in daily use and occurs more often in warm weather than in cool or cold weather. The engine, however, does not register overheating. There is no check engine light when this happens.

The sunroof of the 2017 Nissan Rouge has drains that are very inadequate and in my opinion defective. My 2017 Nissan Rouge had white mold growing in the carpet of the floor board before I discovered the floor board was wet under the mats (which were mostly dry.) There was no warning or instructions that the sunroof drains had to be cleaned periodically. This mold growing under the mats is a clear health hazard in the air inside of this car. It goes undetected for some time because the leak is insidious and not under any sort of recall. I have had cars with sunroofs for years and never experienced any sort of leak problem like this

It seems the 2017 Nissan Rogue, as well as almost all other years of that make/model have a defect in the drainage system for the sunroof. The drain lines clog which leads to water accumulating significantly under the floor of the car. The initial indicator of this is a wet floor, not that big a deal. However, the water cannot drain at all from under the floorboard so it remains wet, which leads to mold and mildew. it also can lead to rusting the connections of the front seats with the floor board that quickly rots since it is permanently soaking wet. The health issues of breathing in moldy air in an enclosed vehicle are significant and the rotting floorboards that can lead to a seat being dislodged are also concerning. There are numerous examples of this online. The dealer is aware of the problem but does not believe it is their problem to address. Nissan and the dealer feel it is a maintenance issue where the car owner must clean out the drain tubes twice a year. There is nothing in the owners manual indicating this is a requirement or a necessity. Warranty will not cover it since they feel it is a maintenance issue.

My 2017 Nissan Rogue has 39,000 miles on it, after I bought out my lease a few months ago I noticed in warmer weather and when the engine and transmission are good and hot, I am having trouble accelerating. I do hot highway driving and longer city driving once we start having to do traffic lights and or stop signs I have noticed that my car will not accelerate, I push the gas petal to the floor and it will barely move, and the transmission makes noise and will not shift. I have to pull over and let it cool for a bit in order to get moving again. I have taken it in for service twice and they cannot get this to replicate and have told me there is nothing wrong with my car. This last time I picked it up after they had it for two days and it occured the very next day. No warning lamps lights or messages appear when this occurs. I feel this is a very big safety issue, if I do not get going at the proper speed at a light or stop sign I may get rear ended. It concerns me that they cannot seem to find what is wrong as it continues to repeat over and over again.

ON 9/30/2019 MY NISSAN ROGUE WAS MISSING AND STALLING SO I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC (ALPINE AUTOMOTIVE INC., 5495 W. MISSISSIPPI AVE. LAKEWOOD, CO 80226. A DIAGNOSTIC WAS RUN ON THIS VEHICLE PRODUCING CODE P1715 INPUT SPEED SENSOR PRIMARY SPEED PO776 OIL PRESS SOLENOID B. FOUND SERVICE BULLETIN NTB16-11OL THAT INDICATED THE VEHICLE NEEDS A VALVE BODY AND REPROGRAM. UNFORTUNATELY THIS MECHANIC DELETED THE CODES AND THIS HAS HINDERED GETTING MY TRANSMISSION FIXED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE NISSAN WILL NOT WORK ON MY VEHICLE UNTIL THEY GET A CODE FROM THEIR DIAGNOSTICS. THIS IS PUTTING ME IN HARMS WAY BECAUSE I OPERATING THIS VEHICLE WHICH IS DEFECTIVE, STALLS AT STOP LIGHTS AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE UNLESS I FLOOR BOARD THE ACCELERATOR. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE FREEZING (WARMER MONTHS) A HARD BRAKE WILL CAUSE THE CENTER CONSOLE DISPLAY AND THE FUNCTIONALITY OF HANDS-FREE CELL USE, TO TURN OFF. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE DISPLAY RESETS AND TURNS ON (REBOOTS) ON IT'S OWN. IF SPEAKING TO SOMEONE VIA HANDS FREE, WHEN TURNOFF OCCURS, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECONNECT CALL, AFTER REBOOT. (IF CALLER STAYS ON THE LINE) THE VEHICLE'S DASHBOARD HAS DISPLAYED ALL WARNING LIGHTS AND SOUNDED ALL AUDIBLE ALARMS, SEVERAL TIMES, WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS (BOTH STREET AND HIGHWAY DRIVING). WHILE THESE SITUATIONS ARE UNNERVING AND ANNOYING, THEY DID NOT SEEM TO AFFECT THE ACTUAL HANDLING OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE REMAINS UNDER POWER AND IN GEAR. CONCERNED THAT ONE OF THESE EVENTS MAY ACTUALLY TRIGGER THE BRAKE OR CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO TURN OFF, WHILE UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BUT THANK GOD NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. WE HAVE LOST ALL CONFIDENCE IN THE VEHICLE AND LOOK FORWARD TO TURNING IT IN. ATTEMPTS TO RETURN THE VEHICLE EARLY (9 MONTHS REMAINING ON LEASE) TO NISSAN WERE MET WITH CONSTANT COMMENTS TO RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR THE ISSUE. NISSAN GAVE NO VALUE AND EXPRESSED NO COMPASSION WHEN INFORMED OF THE TRAUMA THE SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED STOPS CAUSED US. JUST THINK ABOUT IT TOTAL LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY.

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAD THE SENSOR TRIP GOING AT SPEEDS LOWER THAN 30MPH. NORMALLY IT WAS WHEN THERE WAS A DIP IN THE ROAD OR NEAR RAILROAD TRACKS. MOST RECENTLY I HAD TWO SITUATIONS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST WAS ON THE HIGHWAY IN A HILLY AREA (LAKE OF THE OZARKS MO) AND IT WAS RAINING. I RECEIVED SEVERAL ALERTS THAT HE SENSOR COULD NOT DETECT BECAUSE IT WAS OBSTRUCTED. WEN IT DID THIS, THE SPEED OF THE CAR REDUCED, BUT DID NOT STOP AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED FOR A MOMENT. I DISABLED THE SYSTEM TO CONTINUE THE REST OF MY DRIVE. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE VERY WE AND I DID NOT WANT TO EXPERIENCE ISSUES. THE SECOND WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, DOING OVER 80MPH IN THE LEFT HAND LANE PASSING THE VEHICLE IN THE RIGHT LANE. AS I CAME DOWN THE HILL THE CAR CAME TO A STOP AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED A THE SAME TIME NOT ALLOWING ME TO CLEAR THE ACTIVE HIGHWAY. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR AND WAS ABLE TO THEN PRESS IT AGAIN AND MOVE INTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY THIS TIME (2 DAYS LATER THAN THE PREVIOUS INCIDENT). THANKFULLY THERE WAS NOT A VEHICLE RIGHT BEHIND ME AS THEY WOULD NOT HAVE HAD A REACTION TIME BECAUSE OF COMING DOWN THE HILL. I AGAIN HAD TO DISABLE THE SAFETY SENSOR FEATURE AND DROVE THE REMAINING 10 HOURS OF MY TRIP WITHOUT IT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER ON 9/3 WHEN THEY OPENED AND WAS ADVISED THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL THAT I SHOULD BRING IT IN BUT WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL BY NISSAN.

THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS GOING AROUND 30 MPH IN TOWN (THANKFULLY I WASN'T ON THE INTERSTATE) AND I TRULY THOUGHT MY CAR HAD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP OR DIED RIGHT THERE IN THE ROAD. EACH TIME MY CAR MESSES UP, IT ALWAYS MAKES THE SAME NOISE, MAKES THE SAME 3-4 BEEPS AND THEN TRIES TO LOCK UP. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL NISSAN STORE IN JACKSON, MS AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR- BUT MY GUT JUST SAYS OTHER WISE. IT SCARES ME TO THINK THAT THIS MIGHT HAPPEN ON THE INTERSTATE, AT A MUCH HIGHER SPEED, WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR WITH ME. PLEASE HELP!

THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BUT THIS LAST TIME IT HAD A BLATANTLY FLASH THE LITTLE CRASH SYMBOL CAME UP AGAIN BUT NOW WITH AN EXPLANATION MARK AND A CONSISTENT WARNING TELLING ME IT WAS A MALFUNCTION THE CAR CAME TO A HALT BEFORE I COULD PULL OUT THE SHELL GAS STATION. I'M SO THANKFUL THAT IT STOPPED AT THE STATION INSTEAD OF HAPPENING AS I MERGED INTO TRAFFIC AS IT HAD IN THE PAST. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY AT 1ST I WAS TOLD THEY WERE SWAMPED AND I HAD TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WHEN MY CALL WAS TRANSFERRED SO I COULD MAKE MY APPOINTMENT I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT AND SHE CONTACTED THE REPAIR SUPERVISOR; I THINK HIS NAME WAS STEVE OR STEPHEN AND HE ADVISED HER TO TELL ME TO TOW THE CAR TO THE DEALER SHIP BECAUSE TRYING TO DRIVE IT WOULD BE DANGEROUS. ONCE I MADE IT HOME I TUNED INTO THE NEWS AND THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATIVE REPORT ON ABC 7 CHICAGO NEWS SAYING THAT MANY HAVE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AS MINE. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED ON TWO OCCASIONS BY THE VEHICLE THAT WAS BEHIND ME AS THERE WAS NO REASON TO STOP. I BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP TWO TIMES AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY CODES AND THEY CLEANED OFF THE CAMERA AREA (I KEEP THE CAR RELATIVELY CLEAN). THEY TOLD ME TO TURN OFF THE PROXIMITY ALERT SYSTEM TO HELP PREVENT THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH NISSAN'S COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND RESOLVED. MY WIFE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS SHE WAS WITH ME TWICE WHEN IT HAPPENED. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL OR SOMETHING AS NISSAN IS NOT FIXING THE ISSUE OR INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM. THE CAR CLICKER DID NOT WORK AND THE TRUNK LIFTER FEATURE WOULD NOT WORK. WHEN THE CAR DID START IT GAVE A MALFUNCTION NOTICE IN THE DASHBOARD. ALSO, THE CAR MAKES A NOISE WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BUT THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO RETURN THE CAR AS I DID NOT FEEL SAFE OR COMFORTABLE WITH THE CAR DUE TO THESE CONCERNS. THEY ATTEMPTED TO RESOLVE THE MATTER BY CHANGING THE BATTERY IN THE CAR CLICKER. BUT THE MATTER IS NOT RESOLVED AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO SERVICE ME AS I ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR LESS THAN A WEEK BEFORE THESE PROBLEMS BEGAN SINCE THE CAR HAS IN MY POSSESSION. THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO RETURN THE CAR. THEREFORE, I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR BACK WITH ME. IT HAS BEEN PARKED EVER SINCE. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE AT ALL TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS I DRIVE A LOT AND NEED A CAR THAT IS DEPENDABLE, SAFE, AND RELIABLE.

I PURCHASED MY CAR BRAND NEW IN MARCH 2018. IT HAS LESS THAN 7700 MILES ON IT. ON JULY 30, 2018, I WAS AT A RED LIGHT (COMPLETELY STOPPED) ON A DRY CITY STREET, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY LUNGED FORWARD INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF MINE. DESPITE MY FOOT REMAINING ON THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV UNTIL I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND REAPPLIED. I PURCHASED THE SAFETY PACKAGE FOR MY CAR, AND NOT ONLY DID THE BRAKES FAIL, BUT THE SAFETY PACKAGE, THAT IS SUPPOSED TO PREVENT A COLLISION, ALSO FAILED.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE POWER DROPPED TO THE CAR. THE RPMS DROPPED DOWN TO ALMOST ZERO, THE POWER TO THE RADIO AND FAN MOTOR STOPPED AS WELL. I WENT FROM 65 MILES PER HOUR TO 35 MILES PER HOUR IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THAT THE ENGINE FEELS LIKE IT MIGHT STALL UPON START AFTER SITTING ALL DAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE THIRD ISSUE IS THAT THE BLUETOOTH RADIO SYSTEM HAS A WHISTLING SOUND WHEN TRYING TO USE THIS AND BE SAFE WHILE DRIVING. THE FOURTH ISSUE IS THAT THE INTERIOR BACK DOOR PULLS TO CLOSE THE DOOR BOTH POP OUT AND CANNOT BE PUSHED BACK INTO PLACE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AWAY FROM ME FOR A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME SO NISSAN CAN TRY AND MAKE REPAIRS. CONSUMER AFFAIRS TOLD US THAT SIMPLY THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE BLUETOOTH ISSUE AND THAT THE BACK DOOR PULLS WAS A DESIGN FLAW FROM THE MANUFACTURER.

I GO TO TURN THE CAR ON DRIVE OUT THE LOT AND IT KEEPS STALLING. NO INDICATORS IN THE DASHBOARD ARE INDICATING ANYTHING IS WRONG. I'M AFRAID SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG AND DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT. I JUST DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT. PER THE STAFF, EVERYTHING IS NORMAL. I SPOKE TO NISSANS ARBITRATION DEPT LAST NIGHT AND THEY HAVE FOUND THAT IT IS SOME TRAFFIC LIGHTS THAT ARE CAUSING AN INTERFERENCE AND CAUSING THIS SYSTEM TO SET OFF AUDIBLE BEEPS FOLLOWED BY A RED LIGHT (ACCORDING TO USER MANUAL IT IS THE FEB EMERGENCY WARNING INDICATOR). IT WILL THEN BRAKE ON ITS OWN...SOMETIMES MORE SIGNIFICANTLY THAN OTHERS. I DO HAVE A PICTURE OF THE LIGHT GOING OFF WHICH I WILL ATTACH TO THIS COMPLAINT. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 6MOS AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES. I FEEL THIS CAR IS A LEMON. I AM STILL FIGHTING WITH NISSAN BUT AS OF LAST NIGHT THEY SAID THAT NISSAN HAS NO INTEREST IN REPLACING OR LETTING ME REPURCHASE AT THIS TIME, BUT THEY WILL OFFER A CASH SETTLEMENT.

VEHICLE RANDOMLY ACCELERATES WEIRD. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT, IT GOES TO 20 MPH AND HESITATES WITH GAS PEDAL PUSHED. THE RPMS REV UP TO 4,000-5,000 RPM, BUT THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 20 MPH. AFTER ABOUT 10-15 SECONDS, VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE TO NORMAL SPEED. THIS CAUSES ME TO SIT IDLE AT TIMES FEARING FOR MY SAFETY. NISSAN SERVICE CANNOT GET ANY FAULT CODES TO TRIP OR FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAYS IT IS MY SPOUSE AND I'S DRIVING HABITS; HOWEVER, THE GENERAL MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER WITH THIS AND MY SAFETY IS AT RISK BASED ON THE UNKNOWN TIMING OF THIS EVENT. DOES NOT HAPPEN AT A CERTAIN TIME OF DAY EXCEPT RANDOMLY. I ASKED FOR A COPY OF THE LETTER, BUT, OF COURSE, IT IS A "CONFIDENTIAL" DOCUMENT AND ONLY PRIVILEGED PARTIES ARE ABLE TO HAVE ACCESS TO IT. WHAT HAPPENS IS THERE WILL BE AN AUDIBLE BEEPING (TWO-THREE TIMES) AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR CAR WILL SLAM ON THE BRAKES ON IT OWN, WHICH IN TURN KICKS ON THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. THERE WILL BE NOTHING ON THE SENSOR OR NOTHING IN YOUR PATH IN FRONT OF YOU. IT DOES THIS SPONTANEOUSLY. THIS WAS WHILE I WAS DRIVING!!!! THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 3 TIMES ALREADY. THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING/VIBRATING HEAVILY WHEN SITTING IN TRAFFIC ON A BUSY HIGHWAY JUST THREE WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOING ON THE SAME DAY. IT CONTINUE TO HAVE THUMP/SHAKE/VIBRATION WHEN IDLING (PARKED OR STOP LIGHT) AND GOING AT REDUCED SPEEDS (ROLLING OFF THE GAS PEDAL WHEN PARKING OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC) AFTER MULTIPLE VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE VIBRATION SEEMS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH A CONTINUOUS SUDDEN DIP IN THE RPM AS IT DIPS AND GOES BACK TO TO WHERE IT WAS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ADJUSTED THE RPM SETTINGS MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE ISSUE SHIFTS FROM VIBRATION TO THUMPING BUT DOES NOT DISAPPEAR, CLEARLY NOT RESOLVING THE ROOT CAUSE. CURRENTLY, I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 3 MONTHS AND BELIEVE THERE WILL BE A RECALL FOR SOMETHING IN THE NEAR FUTURE AS A NEW CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE SORT OF ISSUES OUT OF THE GATE. THEY RECOMMENDED I TAKE TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP 4TH VISIT: 10/28: COULD NOT REPLICATE, NO CHANGES MADE AT THIS POINT, I AM REACHING OUT TO YOU AND BBB. THIS MALFUNCTION NEARLY CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURIES. WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY DID HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR INSPECTION. THEY HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 WEEK AND ARE NOW CONTACTING US REQUESTING THAT WE PICK UP THE VEHICLE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE OR EVEN KNOW 'EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS' IN THEIR OWN WORDS.

I WASH THE VEHICLE ONCE A WEEK, I DRIVE A GOOD DISTANCE AWAY FROM BEHIND OTHER VEHICLES ON A REGULAR ROAD & THE HIGHWAY ESPECIALLY, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE I GET A PAINT CHIPS ON THE HOOD EVERY DAY. NO MATTER WHAT I DO. AT THE END OF THE DAY, I TAKE CARE OF IT TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE MY WIFE COMPLAIN TO ME ABOUT HOW MUCH I TAKE CARE OF IT. AGAIN, I AM NOT SURE IF THE PAINT IS THIN/CHEAP OR NOT BUT IT SEEMS LIKE IT NOT FAIR TO HAVE PAID CLOSE TO $400 EXTRA FOR PREMIUM PAINT AND BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I ALSO HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS AN ISSUE. FUNNY THAT NO ONE HAS REPORTED IT HERE IN THE PAST. I GUESS THERE IS A FIRST FOR EVERYTHING.
