The heating system does not heat, only blows cold related to the known issue with the blend door component. I live in the North East and this results in visibility issues as I can not get the heating system to blow hot to keep the windshield and side doors clear. The repair is to replace the entire heating box. My local mechanic has verified this is the issue with the heat and many forums for this vehicle confirm this is a known defect of design.
The malfunction warning indicator comes on and the car idles high. You have to pull over,turn off the ignition and turn the car back on.The dealerships can not find the reason .Happens sporadically .The light came on permanently 11/18/25.
Sometimes car will not accelerate after coming to a complete stop. It has happened on several occasions with the most recent stated below.
My sunroof exploded as I was driving on route 495 near Mansfield Ma Friday October 10th at approximately 3:42 pm. I heard a loud noise sounded like a gunshot and glass flew everywhere. The glass shattered everywhere also in my hair as well as on the seats both front and back seats. My safety as well as other drivers on the road could have been compromised. Luckily, shaken from the shattering of glass I was able to go into the breakdown lane to aces the damage. My insurance company was closed and is also closed today I will report it to them tomorrow.
Driver door will not open from outside or inside vehicle. Based on research this is an acuator issue that Nissan has known about since 2014 & failed to issue a recall. I am in the process of costly repair @ personal expense for a clear safety issue the know about & have failed to address, & would like reimbursement for. I have had to climb over/out passenger side several times to enter/exit car, thus far not being trapped, however it is not safe to not be able to quickly exit vehicle. Nor safe to manuver over console to exit this way. Nor is it safw not to be able to enter your parked vehicle. Nissan needs to issue a recall & cover repair expense on all makes/models & all doors affected, checking all 4 doirs, not just the one or 2 doors malfunctioning as this can/will affect all 4 doors.
I was driving my car and out of no where for the first time I feel it shaking and making a noise, it did it for a min then it would stop, and it would continue this way every couple of mins. I had a feeling I should pull over yet there was no where I could pull over to on a busy road, so I kept driving, eventually I could not drive faster than 20 mph, my car would not let me. It would make the noise that a car makes when you have it parked and are stepping on the gas pedal, like revving the car. Eventually I pulled over once I could and then turned off the car and turned it back on, once the car was on it would literally not move at all. I could shift the gear stick with no issue to drive and all the other things but I could still not drive my car, it wouldn’t move, there was no parking brake on, nothing. It was on drive but it would not move. At this time there was no lights suggesting anything was wrong with the car. I kept turning it back on and off and then it worked until I got to my destination. Once I got to my destination I was not able to go back home. The car would simply not run. There was no warning lamps or messages of any kind prior to the incident. My safety and others was put at risk because I was on a busy highway and I was not able to drive faster than 20 mph at one point. A car could’ve came at mine driving at 65+ mph stated in the speed limit. I was even able to get off the road at that time either. It was a very scary experience. It wasn’t until the tow truck towed to car to my house that the warning lights came on. Turning on hours after everything had already happened. There was 6 codes that popped up when we checked the car all relating to the transmission. This is a very serious and dangerous situation. I am lucky I didn’t get hurt or anyone driving around me at that time. I don't have any images from the incident only a video that shows the cars speed dropping and getting higher on its own, it literally felt like the car was driving itself.

Back up camera black out and on no volume with car play and radio not working. The it just stopped and with out warning will go out. Vehicle is available for inspection. Unable to see or getting warnings without back camera.
Rear power lift gate on my 2018 Nissan Rogue will randomly close after being lifted. Happens at any time, whether the key fob, dash button or the button on the lift gate itself is used. The lift gate has hit my wife and I in the head multiple times causing minor injury. The car has been back to my Nissan dealer twice, they state the struts, sensors and modules are all working fine. They indicated they recalibrated the sensors. Not sure what the issue is but we don’t like the idea of paying the quoted price of $1200 to replace the struts since this may be a general problem with the car.
The A/C does not work on the driver side making it impossible to defrost the windshield. The passenger side of the windshield defrosted, but not the drivers side making the vehicle impossible to drive as there was no vision for the driver. My mechanic had to disassemble the entire dashboard and found that the small plastic nob that allows the inside control to turn the air on and off had worn down. In order to drive safely, he removed the worn out piece and now the heat stays on 90 degrees and to have it turned off, he has to dismantle the entire dashboard. My husband got a quote from a dealer a year prior to his demise and it would have costs $4,000. So we resorted to drive his 2020 Nissan Rogue instead and left my vehicle parked most of the time. Now that the weather is 85+ I have to drive a vehicle that is blowing 90 on the driver and cannot be driven when raining because of the amount of steam generated due to the high temperature. At the current rate I have to have this procedure done twice a year just to drive the vehicle. I have found several videos on YouTube regarding the problem with Nissan Rogues and this particular issue. However, I can find no recall to help remedy the problem. Therefore, I am asking that Nissan find a permanent solution to this problem and have it fixed at Nissan expense. Thanks.
The backup camera picture/screen has randomly cut out while backing up putting myself and whatever is behind me at risk for collision. In the section where it asks for the date, it's happens randomly since I bought it. Whenever I've taken it to my mechanic they have not been able to reproduce it. The emergency braking system has activated with nothing around. It's in the dealers now. It was listed as a recall on a RI safety but not associated with my vin so the nissan dealer is saying that it's not covered under recall because it shows only the brake recall. the software update is costing me 169. He says that it should fix both problems.
It has happened where I am driving on the highway with big vehicle's are next to me and it will brake and take me from 65 miles per hour down to 30 mph quickly . I always hope that no one is in back of me I fear that i will get in a accident for no reason . Please put a recall on this system !
My 2018 Nissan is having rear differential issues affecting the transfer case, I did see there was a class action lawsuit. My car is unable to go up any small ramps without stalling. I was told this issue will persist. I still owe the bank money. When I went to the Nissan Dealership they offered me 1,000.00 for my car. It is a 2018 with 108K miles on it.
UNKNOWN...Heater/Blend door on driver's side of the vehicle does not operate. I have had the step motor replaced 9 months ago and now the nylon nut in the heater box is stripped out and the blend door does not operate at all. In looking for repair options I have come across several other owners who also have this same common issue with this vehicle. This is faulty on the manufacturers part and I am asking for a case to be opened to look into this issue. When I bought the step motor from my local dealership, the parts manager told me that this is a common and large-scale problem with this particular vehicle.
I received a u1002 can comm. code error. Indicating the ABS module has a problem.
The Blend Door Actuator is completely stripped causing the air that blows throughout the car and defrosts the dash. It is stuck on cold preventing window defrosting, in wintertime this is dangerous limitating visibility. Lots of cases with this.

While driving on the freeway, the overhead console fell from the ceiling of the vehicle. It dropped suddenly and apparently for no reason. Continued operation of the vehicle was impaired due to limited visibility. The dealership viewed the problem as an opportunity to sell parts. Pictures which are included in this communication were sent to the dealership, and, presumably, that is how they made their determination it was not a safety issue. There was no warning.

Yes, I provide consent for my vehicle to be inspected. - The gate falls and hits your head if under it. - The Nissan dealer confirms this is a routine failure in this vehicle and even acknowledges that it should be a recall. It is in fact so routine that multiple lift gates in this specific year/model are fixed per week and they are an annoyance and difficult to repair. It requires new parts in the lift gate hydraulic components to repair. - Yes- the dealer has viewed my vehicle and quoted me a price for repairs. Roughly $700-$1,000 to repair. -No warnings or indications before its failure. And no warnings from the vehicle now that it is broken.
My sun roof blew up/out as I was driving down the highway. Nothing hit it to my knowledge and there were no prior damage
I don't see a recall outstanding for the catalytic converter system but it says in 2020 there was a recall. My catalytic converter has gone bad. Makes we wonder if the work was ever really done? It should not go bad after on 4 years.
I was driving my car with the key fob in down right position and the car just shut off while driving and never started back up… took to the dealership they charged me $200 for a diagnosis test and than told me it was not the key but the machine can not read what’s wrong with the key
Jack knife key solution is not conducive for consumers. And will eventually break and won't be covered by nissian.
My trunk is not working at all. Tried to reset it but the fuses are still in good shape. The trunk will not open with the keys, inside near steering wheel, and at the back.
On 3/5/24 I had a collision with a large deer. The front of the car was impacted. The air bags did not deploy. I was driving at 50 mph. I have sent my concern to Nissan but they have not responded. Approximately $10,000 in damage was done.
Crush warning light continues to flicker and car suddenly came to a stop when accelerating onto the freeway. It is struggling to accelerate and feels like I am pushing it too far anytime I try. The dealer replaced my transmission but it continues to have the same issues.

My Car will stop suddenly, and unpredictably at various times. The car will stop and sometimes shake as it acts like its stalling out and an emergency light flashes up briefly. This has almost caused us to be in multiple wrecks. I am scared to drive this car and scared to have my children in the car. This is so unpredictable; it cannot be diagnosed at just any time. I'm not sure what to do but am super fearful this is going to cause a wreck and we could be injured and possibly injure others as this happens at any time and comes to a complete stop. Please help! This started from a few weeks after we purchased in 2021 but has got to be more frequent as of the last 3 months (2023) and worse in severity. I am very fearful.
Key fob is undetected even though key is in the vehicle and near the start button
We have had a gas smell in our garage, outside the car and inside the cabin and inside our house since 2022 and the service technician confirmed it but said I'd have to pay $160 for them to diagnose it plus parts and labor to fix it. There are lots of "Nissan Rogue gas smell in cabin" complaints AND there is a class action lawsuit filed on the 2020-2023 models. I've seen the same complaints as far back as 2009 so they have been alerted and know about this faulty assembly problem for years and have not taken responsibility for fixing it. We've gotten used to it and a neighbor came over yesterday and said he was getting nauseated from the smell in our living area so I put it out in driveway and this a.m. it wasn't as bad. It's a health and fire hazard and we have gas stove. I'm not sure if local TV Action Reporter could get anything done or if we should hire a lawyer. People walking up to my car exclaim "I smell gas!" No warnings on dash. It seems to be faulty assembly of fuel line to tank or in that area as it's strongest in back seat. My wife has MGUS, arthritis and other medical problems and this is causing a lot of mental stress worrying that the car will catch on fire while we're in it! I will Never buy another Nissan now that I see that they don't care what happens once you buy it! Please answer asap as we use it everyday and don't want cancer, etc. from inhaling gas fumes. Purely breathing the fumes (gasoline inhalation) can result in the following symptoms: coughing and other breathing difficulties, headaches/dizziness, heart failure, and more. Because of how the hydrocarbons attack the nervous system, a wide range of symptoms is possible, but they can all eventually be deadly.
So the CVT transmission on my 2018 Nissan Rouge has begun to fail. I ask my personal mechanic and took it to Star Nissan in Illinois and both said that the transmission is wearing out quicker than normal, they suggested I see if it had been recalled, and to my surprise, it hasn't and they are guessing that the transmission was worn out before I bought it. They were recalled for the same problem but were never taken. The bad thing is that there is no error or light that says the transmission is failing. I drive with the car on a daily and risk my life and others just cause the car doesn't move and I need to turn it off and turn it back on so it resets. The car smells like burning metal from the transmission. When I go 20 the rpms hit 5000 which should be normal.
The HVAC air door bend plastic piece is stripped within. The door actuator has been replaced and did NOT fix the issue. The driver side only blows cold air as a result. This is a hazard because when it becomes winter time, this can be dangerous due to the inability to stay warm or defrost the windshield. Nissan is wanting to charge consumers $3000 dollars to replace the whole HVAC system due to faulty construction of the actuator plastic component where the motor door is inserted. The part number is 27749-14BUOA but it is not the door insert but the plastic piece as seen in the attachment.
Ignition Key does not turn on the vehicle. Key does not correspond with the vehicle to turn on or open door.
When using the voice control on the steering wheel of my 2018 Rogue in June 2023, the sound of my voice was not picked up by the microphone. I went online to look for recalls or repair information, and found a Reddit thread with many 2018 Rogue owners complaining of the same issue. I took the vehicle to the dealership. The dealership replicated the issue and found the Telematics Control Unit was not working. The technician also stated he has seen several of these stating, "Not a huge number, but quite a few." Since this is just one dealership, coupled with the online discussions, I believe this is a widespread problem that Nissan is aware of and has not voluntarily recalled. SAFETY: Many states have hands-free laws and the malfunctioning Telematics Control Unit does not allow the hands-free safety feature to work. Nissan is also asking $817 to rectify the issue, which could be cost prohibitive for some owners, causing them to forego the safety repair.
I purchased this vehicle from carmax in November. I didn't even have it for a month and there quite a few things wrong. When I took it back to the dealership they "Couldn't recreate the problem" but wouldn't Give me Back my car. They kept it for 6 months. In that time they ended up doing a bunch of repairs, including putting in a new transmission. I have not had it back for a full week and driving to work it was very resistant to go at all. I made the mistake of getting on the freeway, where I couldn't get off until the next exit. My rpms went to and stayed at 6000 and I had no idea why and my crashing car with a star Symbol was illuminated,(and still is) for the whole way. I got off the freeway turned off my car. Turned it back on hoping this would fix the problem and drove less than 20 miles per hour the entire rest of the way to work. Even at 20 miles an hour. My RP m's were at 6000 and we're not even trying to go down.

When the vehicle is turn off the radio is still on and playing when the car is off and had several diagnostic test nothing came back battery ran down 4 times in 1 week got new battery drained it in 2 days..pulled the fuse to audio battery hasn't drained since...something is not wired right...should not have to remove fuse of audio/radio on a 2018 vehicle...this needs to be recalled...please I spent $400 unnecessary dollars on this issue..please
I was driving on the expressway when my car started shaking and a malfunction message came on. My steering then started to steer only to the left and the car would not allow me to control the steering any longer. I hit the median wall, did a 360 and was facing the opposite direction of traffic. The door initially would not unlock to let me out. I kept trying in a panic and all of a sudden they unlocked for me to get out. My car was totaled out by my insurance company.
On Friday April 21, 2023 I was operating my vehicle with my toddler inside going about 30 miles per hour when suddenly out of no where with No Warning my vehicle beeped rapidly 5 times and as it was beeping it intensely braked itself and/or slowed down immediately while at a speed of about 30 miles per hour. It was as if my car was getting pulled backwards and immediately slowing down I had no control of my vehicle. I was driving 30 miles per hour but I had No Control Of my vehicle, Not until the vehicle was finished pulling all the way back and slowing down to about 5-10 miles per hour from 30. I had no warnings at all and at the times there were no vehicles directly in front or on the side of me. I feared for my daughters life and safety because we were on a busy road and just felt in the moment we were going to get hit from behind because my vehicle was out of my control it had a mind of its own, I couldn’t control it cuz it’s like it braked it self and at a speed of 30 it pulled back. I’m scared to drive this car now. I brought it for my growing family but it’s a danger to me and my family as well as other vehicles driving around or besides me; for these reasons I don’t trust nor want this vehicle no more. What component or system failed or malfunctioned? I believe the auto breaks/ emergency break sensors failed me How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety and my toddlers safety was put at risk because we coulda got into a really bad accident injuring ourselves as well as others because the car dropped its speed and dragged and/or pulled my vehicle back intensely without warning. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance? Yes Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure? No, I received no warnings prior to incident nor during or after incident.
Reporting this car . Recall has been open since February and there has been no remedy with a reasonable time frame. I am not able to cover the cost of the car note because it has affected my source of income due to the recall being opened and not being fixed in a timely manner. I would like to return the car due to the lemon law/inability to fix recall.
Manufacturing defects caused cabin flood on passenger side. Water leak from windshield/headliner defect/seal not properly installed
when I am waiting for someone to come out, I listen to music with key in on position and when I try to start the car it will not start. It makes a sound but won't turn over. I was told it was the battery, I had that replaced and it is still doing the same thing. I am concerned that if I am out at night, well anytime there is a car issue it concerns me. Please advise what this could be.
Water inside the "A" pillar, along the front rail and in floorboard. Seal of moonroof is sitting well. This can cause a safety concern if water enters while driving, creating a distraction. Also, there is electrical components in the front rail of which I do not know, but dripping down on the front dash where the infosystem is located could cause unknown issues. The vehicle has not been inspected yet by a dealer, manufacturer, police or insurance. As of yet, no warning lights or error messages.
Using the info center to have hands free usage. The info center restarts periodically while driving. It doesn't appear to affect the drivability of the car, but if navigating using the info center it could cause a distraction for the driver if in an unknown area or place the driver in an unfamiliar/unsafe area. At present, it restarts on its own and reconnects to the current setting. It has not been inspected or reported to anyone as of yet. It is happening more frequently.
The component is the backup camera. The backup camera engages, but the camera image freezes momentarily after engaging. The freeze happens for around 1-2 seconds. The camera then continues to work or then crashes completely and you have to move out of reverse and back into reverse to reengage the backup camera. This has happened since I owned the vehicle and after the other recall that addressed other backup camera issues. The car is available for inspection on request. This puts others at risk since the backup camera is a crucial part of visibility. If the camera freezes when backing up, people/cars can approach and I would likely not be able to see them. The component has non been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem. The symptoms have been with the car since purchase and definitely after the other software fix nissan had for camera issues.
My car is shutting down with no reason and Suddenly stopping when I’m driving in traffic 65 MPH this happening FOUR separate times today NOVEMBER,17 2022 In my driveway, At the parking lot At gas stations At work This unsafe car can cause a dangerous crash on the road because of the SUDDENLY STOP I m scar to drive this unsafe car I m putting my self and my Family and other on the road at risk by driving it. It keeps shutting down and suddenly stopping for several times for more than two months now but no fixed yet a I BROUGHT MY CAR TO SUTHERN NISSAN FORT MYERS FLORIDA THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK IT AND FIXE IT no respond.
Panoramic sunroof exploded while driving. There was a very load pop when the closed sunroof exploded apart. Pulled over called police, there is a police record of incident. Luckily I had visor closed or I am sure we would have wrecked. I had to have sunroof replaced, was not covered by Nissan warranty.
Used key fob to unlock driver's door. Would not work. Used valet key. Started car, open drivers window and notice that nothing else in the cabin was operational. A/C would not turn on, could not put it in gear. Radio wouldn't function. The dash and console were dark. No message flashed. Couldn't exit the car as door wouldn't open. However, THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN. Hung out open door to unlock with valet key. Called AAA, they couldn't stop engine from running and stated they weren't "authorized" to do anything else. Called Nissan emergency number and person came out and couldn't shut off engine and finally had to disconnect the alternator to stop car from running. After reconnecting the alternator, he could not start car. I called a tow truck the next morning and at that time, the car started. Nissan service garage couldn't replicate that problem except said that the actuator in the door had failed and needed replaced - but that wouldn't cause the other issues. They had car for over a week and could not replicate the problem of the car engine running while every other car function was not operational. The car has only 3824 miles on it although it is a 2018. This is a major safety issue. Contacted Nissan Customer Care Service. Since the problem wasn't replicated, they said they couldn't help. I feel unsafe and won't drive car due to no one being able to explain why that happened or whether it will happen again.
My car was in a collision and it is a total loss. The accident was a head collision on with a parked car, the airbags to not deploy during the accident. This is a safety issue I am very concerned about due to the damage to the car.
I received a Chassis Control System Error. When I tried to restart my car after it randomly shut off. I’ve had the car check and they thought it was the battery they did a check and the battery’s and all the parts are fine. They couldn’t find the problem, this is dangerous because car stopped while driving.
Heater blows cold and will not defrost A/C blows warm and will not cool
The automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection light comes on while going down the road. One of the times that it came on it turned off cruise control and the vehicle started to slow way down and then it was like the brakes were being applied while we were on the Interstate surrounded by traffic. The vehicle then would not accelerate for a period of a couple of minutes requiring me to move over while I was in the process of trying to pass vehicles which then required drivers around me to have to slow down and avoid hitting us. The vehicle would not allow the cruise control to turn on until we finally got into a town and stopped to get something to eat. I did not report the issue to the manufacturer, police or insurance at this time. The warning light came on suddenly when the incident happened but since we had not had the vehicle that long we were not sure what it was so we had to look that up. Since then it has ran fine but the other day again while traveling down the interstate it came on again but this time there was not slowing, braking or anything as a result so don't know why it came on and it did not appear to be working correctly if it was not doing anything but flashing the warning light.
The automatic brake employed even though there was no vehicles or objects in front. Only lets car speed up to about 60 mph but still applying the emergency brake. Also transmission light is on. Undriveable.
Automatic opener for the automatic hatch back. I opened it i was reaching for something in to take something out when the hatch came down onto me. It rested on my back and did not go up. I was alone and had to maneuver myself out of the SUV trunk and had to manually close the hatch. This also happened to my 82 year old husband and the door when pressed to open, it starts UP, then comes down before it fully opens. This has happened more then once. We took the SUV to our dealer who said that we would have to pay for the repairs. Is this a manufacturing flaw or serious accident waiting to happen, or should this be a RECALL. Please advise as we have an appointment May 25, 2021. We have been in Florida for the past 5 months that is why we are just reporting this.

DRIVING ON A STATE HIGHWAY IN A METROPOLITAN AREA, THE SUN ROOF SUDDENLY EXPLODED. IT WAS MODERATE WEATHER FOR DECEMBER IN THE ST. LOUIS, MO AREA (I'M GUESSING IN THE 40'S). NISSAN SAYS THAT GLASS IS NOT COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. HAD THE SUN ROOF COVER BEEN OPEN, GLASS COULD EASILY HAVE ENTERED THE CABIN. THE GLASS SHATTERED INTO HUNDREDS OF TINY PIECES - OBVIOUS A HAZARD TO CAR OCCUPANTS AS WELL AS OTHERS OUTSIDE THE CAR.

THE TRUNK WHEN OPENED WILL OPEN ALL OF THE WAY AND THEN WILL CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, OFF, AND IN PARK USUALLY, BUT IT WILL ALSO HAPPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, ON, AND IN PARK. I HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.
DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH AND THE GLASS ROOF EXPLODES. LUCKILY, THE SHADE COVER WAS CLOSED, SO THE GLASS WAS CONTAINED INSIDE IT BUT ALSO MUCH OF IT FLEW OFF THE BACK OF THE CAR.

THE OTHER DAY THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE AND THEY PUT IT ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE AND PRINTED OUT A PAPER AS IF NOW I HAVE OVER 70,000 MILES ON MY DASHBOARD, BUT THE PAPER SAID 122,015 MILES.

THIS IS A NEW INCIDENT FOR SAME VEHICLE REPORTED IN NHTSA INCIDENT #11308847. THE VEHICLE WAS ATTEMPTED TO BE PICKED UP FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE FEBRUARY 10, 2020 WHEN IT WAS INVOLVED IN A WRECK ON THAT DATE. VEHICLE HAD BEEN WITH NISSAN REPRESENTATIVES CONTINUOUSLY SINCE THAT DATE. THE VEHICLE HAD SAT UNATTENDED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS DUE TO ISSUES REPORTED IN NHTSA INCIDENT #11308847. NISSAN PROVIDED WRITTEN RESPONSE THE VEHICLE'S BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE ANY COMPUTER ISSUES. CONSUMER WAS INSTRUCTED TO PICK-UP VEHICLE BY TODAY. THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED WHILE AT THE NISSAN FACILITY AND LEFT RUNNING FOR A LITTLE WHILE AS THE BATTERY HAD COMPLETELY DISCHARGED. DURING THE FINAL CHECK BEFORE I LEFT THE NISSAN FACILITY, THE VEHICLE'S IGNITION WAS ENGAGED AND THE VEHICLE WAS FULLY RUNNING. HOWEVER, NUMEROUS LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WERE ILLUMINATED THAT SHOULD NOT BE ILLUMINATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND TURNED ON. THESE LIGHTS INCLUDED POWER STEERING, ABS, BRAKE, CHECK ENGINE, OIL PRESSURE, AND A FEW OTHER LIGHTS. ADDITIONALLY, THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WAS COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE IN TERMS OF BLOWING AIR OR RUNNING ANY FANS. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE RELEASED BY THE NISSAN FACILITY'S SERVICE MANAGER AND THE VEHICLE WILL BE KEPT FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION INTO CONTINUING ONBOARD COMPUTER SYSTEMS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY.*DT*JB*DT THE CONSUMER STATED THE BATTERY HAD LOW VOLTAGE CAUSING THE FAILURES.

THE BACKUP CAMERA IS FREEZING AT RANDOM WHEN I AM BACKING UP CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO STOP AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON TO RESET THE BACKUP CAMERA TO GET IT TO UNFREEZE TO GET IT TO FULLY WORK AGAIN. THIS IS A RANDOM HAPPENING, AND DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME AND I CAN NOT PREDICT WHEN IT WILL OCCUR THE NEXT TIME. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE ME TO HIT A CHILD THAT COULD RANDOMLY RUN OUT BEHIND MY VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING IN A PARKING LOT OR WHEN BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 25 TIMES NOW SINCE THE RECALL OF THE RECALL WAS REPAIRED ON MY 2018 NISSAN ROUGE SV BEFORE THE RECALL AND 1200 MILE SERVICE WAS DONE ION MY VEHICLE HAD NO ISSUES WITH MY UNTIL I HAD ALL THIS WORK DONE. THE ISSUE WITH MY BACKUP HAPPENS IN PARKING LOTS DRIVEWAYS IT DOES NOT MATTER WHEN I PARK IT IS A RANDOM OCCURRENCE THAT HAPPENS WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE DAY OR NIGHT. IT JUST HAPPENS OUT OF THE BLUE. AND SCARES ME WHEN IT DOES AND I HAVE TO BE MORE ALERT TO EVERYTHING AROUND ME IN MY MIRRORS TO MAKE SURE I DO NOT HIT ANYTHING OR ANYONE. MY SON WAS IN THE CAR, LISTENING TO A SONG, AS I GOT THE TRASH CANS/MAIL FROM THE CURB. (THIS ALL TOOK 5 MINS, THUS, I KNOW THAT THE CAR WAS IN PARK, NOT NEUTRAL OR REVERSE.) I OPENED THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR & TOLD MY SON TO GO IN THE HOUSE. STANDING ON MY DRIVEWAY, I GOT MY BAGS & REACHED ACROSS TO PRESS THE KEYLESS START BUTTON. AS SOON AS I DID, THE CAR BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS AND HIT A TREE. THE CAR DOOR PUSHED ME DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO GET LEAP FREE, JUST AS THE CAR REALLY PICKED UP SPEED. IT FINALLY CRASHED INTO A TREE IN MY NEIGHBOR'S YARD, LANDING OVER A DRAINAGE DITCH B/W OUR HOMES. THERE WERE ONLY MINOR INJURIES. THE CARSEAT HEADREST BROKE. THE VISIBLE CAR DAMAGE IS ON THE REAR BUMPER/LIFTGATE AND THE PASSENGER DOOR. SHAKEN, I DIDN'T THINK TO TAKE PHOTOS OR CALL THE POLICE. AS I AWAITED A TOW TRUCK, I DID NOT ACCESS THE CAR: IT WAS OVER THE DITCH, IN MUD AND RAIN, W/ 1 WHEEL SUSPENDED IN AIR. THIS WAS A FAILURE OF THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM DUE TO THE RANDOM NATURE AND THE FACT THERE WAS NO HAZARD OR CONDITION REQUIRING THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING TO BECOME ENGAGED. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND AT LEAST ONE PREVIOUS SAFETY COMPLAINT HAS BEEN ENTERED. THIS FAILURE OF THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM DO CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STOP AND IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.

EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM IS BREAKING BY ITSELF SPECIFICALLY ON HIGHWAY SPEEDS CONSISTENTLY AFTER ~1 HOUR INTO A TRIP. AFTER BRINGING IT IN THE FIRST TIME, SAME RESULTS HAPPENED. BROUGHT IT IN A SECOND TIME EARLIER THIS WEEK. TECH CONFIRMED SYSTEM ERRORS WITH "C1A16 CODES". DROVE IT AFTER BRINGING IT IN A SECOND TIME, AND SAME PROBLEM IS OCCURRING.

EVENTUALLY THE LIVE VIEW WOULD COME BACK, BUT I COULD NEVER TRUST THE SCREEN OR THE SENSORS WHILE BACKING UP. I RECENTLY TOOK IT INTO A DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, AND THEY SAID THERE IS AN UPDATE AVAILABLE TO THE SOFTWARE TO FIX IT. I WOULD GUESS MY CAR IS NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM AND WANT TO REPORT THIS SO THAT IF OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, THE SOFTWARE UPDATE CAN BE COVERED BY NISSAN. SIMILAR NISSAN/INFINITI MODELS ARE DOING A RECALL FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO THE CAMERAS; I'M NOT SURE WHY MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT CAMPAIGN.

THE RATE OF SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 15MPH AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO IMMEDIATELY STOP. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING DUE TO THE HIGH POSSIBILITY OF SERIOUS INJURY IF THE MALFUNCTION WERE TO OCCUR AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED.

AT THIS POINT AND TIME, THE SER VICE DEPARTMENT WAS CLOSED, SO I RETURNED THE NEXT DAY, WAITED FOR 4 HOURS JUST TO FIND OUT 'IT'S GOING TO COST ME $300-500 AND 2 HOURS ' TO REPAIR BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME FOR MILES AND FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME TO SLAM IN TO ME. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A FAULTY ICC SENSOR, WHICH WORKS COMPLEMENTARY WITH THE VEHICLE'S AEB SYSTEM. FORTUNATELY, IT WILL ONLY COST ME THE $100 DEDUCTIBLE ON MY EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE AT 52K MILES, I'M OVER WARRANTY, BUT NISSAN NEEDS TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND FIX REGARDLESS OF THE MILEAGE ON EACH VEHICLE.

I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO LOCAL MECHANIC WHO RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND STATED THERE WERE TOO MANY CODES REGARDING THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM AND RECOMMENDED I TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP. TOOK IT TO LOCAL DEALER, DIAGNOSTICS WERE RUN AGAIN, AND THEY REPORTED THEY WERE NOT SURE OF THE ISSUE, SUSPECTED DAMAGE TO THE MAF SENSOR (WHICH WAS THEN THROWING OFF THE REPORT OF ALL OTHER SENSORS). THEY REPLACED IT WITH NISSAN MANUFACTURED PART AND ELECTRIC TAPE AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS GOOD TO GO. 2ND TIME - STATIONARY MAKING A LEFT ONTO BUSY MAIN STREET, CAR SHUDDERED, STALLED, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMPLETELY STOPPED. UNABLE TO DRIVE IT, WHEN CHANGING GEARS IT JUST COASTED BACKWARDS (DUE TO THE HILL I WAS ON). HAD IT TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER, TOLD THE SAME THING AS PREVIOUS VISIT 'NOT SURE WHAT'S WRONG, PROBABLY THE SENSOR,' WAS TOLD THEY REPLACED IT AGAIN WITH NISSAN MANUFACTURED PART AND 'TAPED UP REAL GOOD THIS TIME.' HOWEVER COULD NOT GUARANTEE IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN, ALSO STILL NO IDEA WHAT EXACTLY CAUSED THE STALLING. 3RD TIME- DRIVING STRAIGHT AFTER BEING STOPPED AT RES LIGHT, CAR STALLS, ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON, AND UNABLE TO DRIVE IT. AFTER IT HAD BEEN TURNED OFF FOR APPROX. 20 MINUTES, RESTARTED CAR AND IT WAS WORKING AGAIN. ON NOV.23 RADIO QUIT PLAYING AGAIN. I'VE ALREADY TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALER 2 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. DROVE STRAIGHT TO DEALER, SETUP TO TAKE IN NOV.26. THEY CHECKED IT NO NEW UPDATES, OPENED TECHNICAL TICKET AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME. CALLED ME LATER THAT AFTERNOON, SAID NISSAN AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WORKING ON A FIX WHICH COULD BE NEW UPDATE ( NO GOOD), MAYBE REPLACE THE RADIO OR THE COMPUTER IN THE CAR. NO DATES GIVEN AS TO WHEN THIS MIGHT HAPPEN. TOLD JUST GO AHEAD AND DRIVE IT.THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN DRIVING. WHAT WITH THIS RADIO ISSUE AND NOW THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.

VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH BY MY WIFE WITH NO OTHER CARS AROUND AND THE MOONROOF JUST EXPLODED. LUCKILY THE INSIDE COVER WAS CLOSED SO GLASS DID NOT GET ALL OVER THE CAR OR HIT MY WIFE WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING.

MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF CAR TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT APPEARING ON DASH AND IT SEEMED THE BRAKES WERE GOING ON TOO, WITHOUT BEING APPLIED. BUT I DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT COULD HAPPEN ON ITS OWN. IT HAPPENED ONE TIME ON EXPRESSWAY BUT I THOUGHT I MUST HAVE HIT A POTHOLE (CAR WAS PRETTY NEW THEN) AND HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES ON SURFACE STREETS. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TIRE PRESSURE WAS NOT EVEN AND THAT SENSOR WAS VERY SENSITIVE. WHY THE CAR WAS BRAKING WAS BEYOND ME, BUT WAS ATTRIBUTED TO UNEVEN TIRE PRESSURE. IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND THIS TIME TIRE PRESSURE WAS AT 33 PSI ON ALL TIRES (RECOMMENDED NUMBER ON EACH TIRE), SO I BROUGHT IT TO DEALER AGAIN. THIS TIME IT WAS THOROUGHLY EXAMINED AND I WAS QUESTIONED THOROUGHLY ON THE SITUATIONS WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THE COLLISION MONITORING SYSTEM UNIT(S) WERE REPLACED. CAR HAD 9,800 MILES. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WAS FINE. SCARY SITUATION AND I MUST ADMIT I'M APPREHENSIVE TO BE DRIVING IT STILL. BUT, IT'S A LEASE SO I'M COMMITTED. I SHOULD FIND COMFORT IN THE FACT THAT THE PARTS WERE REPLACED, HOWEVER, I'M NOT YET COMFORTABLE. SO, I THOUGHT IT NEEDED TO BE REPORTED SO OTHERS CAN BE AWARE. *DT *JB

MY SAFETY BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED WHEN THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND ME. THERE WAS NOTHING ON THE ROADWAY EITHER. I WAS GOING 40 MPH ON A STRAIGHT LEVEL ROAD IN A SUBURBAN LOCATION. THE ALARM STARTED TO GO OFF AND THE CAR SUDDENLY BRAKED. IT FELT AND SOUNDED LIKE I WAS DRIVING ON SPEED REDUCING PAVEMENT. I DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BUT IT DECREASED BY SPEED TO ABOUT 15 MPH. IT WAS FRIGHTENING AND LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME BECAUSE IT CERTAINLY COULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO BE REAR ENDED.

ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND MY 2018 NISSAN ROGUE STOPPED SUDDENLY AND THEN STARTED AGAIN. THERE WAS NO OTHER VEHICLE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OR BEHIND ME. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED MY MILEAGE WAS 3000+. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. MY MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,200. ON BOTH OCCASIONS I WAS GOING IN A STRAIGHT DIRECTION. MY VEHICLE HAS ALSO ALERTED ME MULTIPLE TIMES THAT THERE IS A MALFUNCTION WITH THE CRASH DETECTOR. I HAVE UPLOADED A PICTURE.

THE SYSTEM AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKING TO AVOID OR LESSEN COLLISIONS ACTIVATED YESTERDAY WHILE I WAS ON INTERSTATE 64, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THERE WAS A TRACTOR TRAILER IN FRONT OF ME, APPROX. 7 CAR LENGTHS, AND A CAR ABOUT 4 CAR LENGTHS IN FRONT IN THE RIGHT LANE. THE MILEAGE WAS AT 774 AND A NOTIFICATION CAME UP ABOUT A RADAR OBSTRUCTION AND AEB DEACTIVATED AUTOMATICALLY. I'M CONCERNED OTHER USERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AS WELL STARTING AT OR AROUND 700 MILES. EARLIER THIS WEEK, I HAD TO BREAK HARD TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE ON 64, AND AEB WAS NOT DEACTIVATED AND NEVER ONCE ACTIVATED. A MERE 100 MILES LATER IT'S LIKE IT HAS BECOME SENSITIVE AND HAS DONE IT MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THE INITIAL INSTANCE (JUST YESTERDAY) I REFERRED TO ABOVE. I HATE TO DEACTIVATE AS I PURCHASED A NEW ROGUE FOR ITS SAFETY FEATURES.

PURCHASED ROGUE WITH 7 MILES ON IT. ON DRIVE HOME, THE RADIO/NAVIGATION DISPLAY CONTINUOUSLY RESET ITSELF UNTIL UNIT OVERHEATED AND COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THIS REPEATED ITSELF EVERY DAY UNTIL BROUGHT IT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS PROBABLY DUE TO A BAD RADIO UNIT AND WILL REPLACE IT.

ON 2-3-18, I BOUGHT A NEW 2018 NISSAN ROGUE FROM ED HICKS NISSAN IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. THIS CAR HAD A HANDS FREE SYSTEM THAT ALLOWED CALLS TO BE MADE AND ANSWERED WITHOUT TOUCHING THE PHONE. IT WORKED WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR. IN LATE FEBRUARY, THE CALLING PORTION OF THE SYSTEM FAILED. WE ARE UNABLE TO PLACE CALLS WITHOUT DIALING THE NUMBER THROUGH THE PHONE. THE HANDS FREE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED. WE ARE UNABLE TO COMPLY WITH THE HANDS FREE LAWS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI EVEN THOUGH WE WERE ASSURED WE COULD WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WHICH THEY NOW SAY DISABLES THE HANDS FREE SYSTEM IN MOST 2018 ROGUES. THEY SUGGESTED THAT I COMPLAIN TO NISSAN, WHICH I HAVE. MY NISSAN CASE NUMBER IS 30966074. MY ORIGINAL COMPLAINT WAS ESCALATED TO A YOUNG MAN NAMED ZACHRY. HIS PHONE NUMBER IS 615-725-7633. HE WAS VERY NICE BUT PROVIDED NO ANSWERS. NOW HE WON'T RETURN MY CALLS. I LEFT MESSAGES LAST FRIDAY, 5-11-18 AND MONDAY, 5-14-18. HE HAS FAILED TO RETURN MY CALLS. I ASKED THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE SYSTEM UNDER MY WARRANTY. THE SERVICE MANAGER, ROBERT TREVINO 361-227-5771, SAYS NISSAN WILL NOT AUTHORIZE THE REPAIR. I AM AT MY WITS END. NISSAN WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM OR REPLACE THE BAD UNIT WITH A NEW ONE AS IT SHOULD UNDER WARRANTY. I AM UNABLE TO COMPLY WITH THE LAWS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND AM PLACED IN THE POSITION OF BEING A DISTRACTED DRIVER IF I HAVE TO MAKE A CALL WHILE DRIVING. SINCE THE INCIDENT, AN ERROR LIGHT FOR THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM FLASHES ON THE DASHBOARD WITH AN AUDIBLE WARNING, THEN DISAPPEARS. ALL THE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN A COUNTRY ROAD WHEN NO OTHER CAR IS IN FRONT OF MY OWN, AND THIS HAS OCCURRED SIX TIMES OVER THE LAST FIVE WEEKS.
