IN THE PAST MONTH THE CAR AUTOMATIC BRAKING HAS STOPPED THE CAR WHILE IN TRAFFIC 3 TIMES. FORTUNATELY IT HAPPENED ON SIDE ROADS TRAVELING AT 35 TO 40 MPH. I CHECKED THE EMBLEM AND WINDSHIELD CAMERA FOR DEBRIS THAT MIGHT BE COVERING THOSE AREAS AND THEY WERE GENERALLY CLEAN AND DID NOT LOOK LIKE IT WOULD CAUSE THE SENSOR TO STOP THE CAR. I AM CALLING NISSAN DEALERSHIP CLOSE TO HOUSE TO SEE IF THEY WILL UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AS PER (TSB NTB19-033G). IF THEY PERFORM THIS SOFTWARE UPDATE AND PROBLEM PERSISTS I WILL FILE ANOTHER REPORT HERE AS AN UPDATE TO MY SITUATION.
Brakes automatically stop car.
This system will activate on its own with no warning
I have owned this vehicle since it was new and the collision sensor light would occasionally blink when the weather was cold, damp or foggy. My Nissan tech told me not to worry about it as long as the car was not braking without necessity. About a month ago, the collision sensor light was blinking and shortly thereafter, the front radar (collision avoidance) sensor malfunctioned, warning lights and sound occurred and the AEB system deployed and car was stopped abruptly. There was no traffic and I was able to coast to the side of the road. I placed the car in park and then in drive and car was back to normal operation. Several days later the lane departure warning occurred for no reason but the car did not shut down. I took the car to Dick Smith Nissan, St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC for service. They replaced the collision sensor for a cost of $2300.00. I called Nissan customer service, received a complaint number ([XXX]) but was told there was nothing Nissan could or would do. This is a problem occurring in many Nissan models over several years. Some of these malfunctioning sensors have been replaced under warranty. Others are part of class action suits in several states. I believe some models have been the subject of recalls. Nissan will not admit that there is a flaw in these sensors and it is a safety issue if the vehicle stalls in heavy traffic or on the interstate. I was lucky that I when my car stalled, I was in town with no traffic and was able to pull off the road. I’m hoping replacing the sensor has solved my problem but it was costly. NTSB should be aware of this safety issue and document incidents regarding these collision sensors. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

1)Backup Camera freezes. I need to pause the car and wait a minute then it will restart. This happens a couple of times a week. 2)Also, there have been several times when going down a hill, my forward collision warning light and sound goes off and it feels like a light emergency brake is applied. (though the dealer told me that I did not have the automatic emergency braking). This occurs for about 2-3 seconds and then stops on it's own. I have never seen anything in the road that would set this off. This has happened about 4 times within the last 6 months or less.

Our 2019 Nissan Rogue SV crash warning light came on the instrument cluster, also it stopped letting me know when I was going over the lane. The warning sign is still coming on and will not turn off. The button switch on left section on the steering wheel do not functioning. After a diagnostic test it was shown to be the forward collision warning (FCW). I understand that this seems to be a problem with this particular type of vehicles and it has been reported many times but no recall have been initiated, I feel very unsafe driving it, it is estimated the cost to repair this problem is about $2600.
Had this car for 2 years no issues. Now all sudden when it rains alittle. An I drive my car an go to back up it slams it breaks on me. I took to Nissan dealership in Johnstown told them what was going on and she told me that it had dirty in the sensor. Ok could have been. Well now everytime it rains I have issues an when I back up it slams it brakes. I have got stuck in the middle of the road several times. I’m either gonna get hit or hit someone an Nissan is pretty telling me there is nothing wrong with my car
issues with false activations of emergency braking, nissan acknowledges issues in technical service bulletins but doesn't feel is enough to create a recall or special coverage even tho is a major safety issue, imagine it happening on the highway, which read it has and there is a semi behind you, could result in death very easily. brakes will randomly lock up the car to a dead stop out of nowhere and flash bunch of warning lights. have a friend with a nissan car that did same thing and caused a major accident with injuries. i am a certified master technician and i find this very concerning and needs to be addressed. will be having an independent mobile programmer update the software which isnt listed for 2019s in the technical service bulletin only for 17-18. and hope that it never happens again, but that will all be out of pocket.
I have a 2019 Nissan rogue. I was driving on the freeway and my emergency breaks went off for no reason. The car in front of me was more than 50 feet away. Thankfully we were in moderate traffic and the car behind me was able to swerve to avoid rear ending me. I searched online and other rogue owners have had the same problem. Nissan needs to recall the AEB system in these cars. I am glad I have a dash cam and was able to record the incident. I don’t feel safe driving my car knowing this is a common problem.
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH AND COMING TO A FOUR WAY INTERSECTION THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED AND MOMENTARILY APPLIED THE BRAKES. THIS DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE IT WAS BRIEF. IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF I WERE ON ICE, OR TURNING, OR SEVERAL OTHER SITUATIONS. tHE DEALERSHIPS I CALLED SAID THEY NEW OF NO SUCH PROBLEMS WITH TIS MODEL.YET IT'S A WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. THE WARNING LAMP CAME ON AFTER THE INCIDENT AND COMES ON OFTEN. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN CHECKED BY A DEALER SINCE THEY SAY IT IS NORMAL AND WANT TO CHARGE TO CHECK IT OUT.
Twice the auto braking system has engaged when there was no obstacle to prompt it. Additional electrical issue as well- not recognizing fob and continually dropping the fob pairing.
When driving taking off from a stand still. My Rogue is giving me hesitation. And try’s to stall when accelerating Then it starts to jerk real hard and dies sometimes it doesn’t take off from the light. Also the car starts breaking out of nowhere causing to a sudden stop. I’ve had this car less than 2years now I do not feel safe driving it at all.
Twice in the past week (9/11 & 9/14), the AEB has engaged while I was driving (forward) despite NO vehicles/objects/people obstructing the path. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. There was no beeping, no lights on the dashboard, or any other warnings prior to the AEB just abruptly stopping my car. Luckily I wasn't on the highway or going very fast because otherwise it would be EXTREMELY dangerous (whiplash, getting rear-ended, serious injury or death of myself or other driver(s), etc.). I took it to Nissan of Downtown LA to be looked at 9/14/24 with a 12PM appointment, but they were rude, not accommodating, and ultimately did not inspect it ("The mechanics are all probably at lunch, and it's late now anyway. We close at 4pm.") I told them specifically what the issue was and that it did not seem safe to just be driving around. Apparently Rogues are infamous for these AEB problems and have been recalled before, but not the 2019s. Entered the VIN on KBB and no recalls currently.
AES went off when nothing was around multiple times and has caused my car to lock up the steering wheel, breaks, gas and gear shift causing me to not have any control of my car as the car took over. Due to the automatic brake system went off it cost me to have an accident and ruin my car. Nissan said that they fixed this issue but I have had multiple incidents in the past I have had it break in the middle of oncoming traffic thank God there was no one around there was no accident then. And then it happenee in May of this year and the AES broke my brake system when there was no reason for the AES to come on. July I had gotten into a crash due to the AES again and the Airbag didn't deploy when in a crash.
I was driving and all of a sudden my 2019 Nissan Rogue jerked forward and slowed down in mid traffic. The dashboard lit up with warnings and the vehicle began to idle up over 2 RPM's. Luckily there wasn't much traffic coming, otherwise I would have been in an automobile accident. It really scared me when that happened. I had to pull over and get myself together before pulling back out in traffic to get home.
Automatic Emergency Braking system error codes keep randomly coming on and the vehicle brakes on its own while driving. I’ve already had the sensor replaced previously.
While driving and no other cars or objects around, emergency beeper notification sounded, all dashboard panel lights went red and emergency brakes engaged without warning in the middle of road at approximately 35mph causing vehicle to come to a sudden stop without warning
The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving under a bridge at a slow speed, the vehicle independently downshifted while depressing the accelerator pedal. Despite the failure, the vehicle resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer failed to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 19,206.
Mileage: 19,206
Forward collision warning system will randomly locking up brakes.vehicle starts to slide sideways, if someone is following closely this could set up a chain reaction. Vehicle was inspected at dealership, couldn’t duplicate. It has happened several times.
IN first or second year of ownership the car spontaneously braked on 2 occasions. Both times after going over road damage. - I had no damage and thought related to rd condition, did not report. About 2 weeks ago Chassis warning came on momentarily then malfunction error came on but went off for rest of day. Next day Malfunction Error for AEB system came on again AND HAS REMAINED ON. I had trusted independent auto body shop computer person run scanner evaluation. some 30 items lit up but 2 didnt clear suggesting possible wire harness. On line many customers noted difficulty finding the right dealer or repair shop the first time , often going to several before problem corrected, Nissan says all dealerships are independent and wont recommend one. Consumers talk about possible recall pending for 2017,18,19 Rogue. mine is 2019. I want to go to most expert for this concern -should it be a collision expert or general dealer repair for this safety concern. Thank you

While driving in a parking structure, at around 15-20 MPH, the automatic emergency braking went on and brought the vehicle to an unsafe stop. Luckily no one was right behind the vehicle. The automatic emergency brake light came on at the same time. This is a safety hazzard in that the system can just engage without cause. In the parking structure, there is a chance of being reaer-ended and hurt. If this happened on a highway or at a faster speed, injury or death could occur. I have seen online that there have been concerns about this happening in this model Rogue. i will be communicating with the Nissan company also.

While driving my car suddenly used it brakes and stop suddenly. I was driving and this is very dangerous. We need a recall on this problem. I'm afraid to drive this car.
Several random unwanted deployments of forward emergency braking system with no danger of other vehicles or pedestrians near by. All deployments have happened below 30 mph both in city driving and rural settings.
After occasional intermittent warnings (lasting 1-2 driving session with several months between warnings), the vehicle developed a persistent malfunction warning within 2-3 minutes of starting the vehicle. This warning indicated a fault with the lane assist camera that also disabled the vehicle's automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and all adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance features in the car. Vehicle effectively has no operating ADAS features. Dealer was able to confirm malfunction warning and found DTCs c1b00 and c1b00-49 (camera unit malfunction). Dealer indicated replacement of camera was only solution available, and that it would not be covered by manufacturer warranty, despite the malfunction disabling several safety-critical ADAS features of the vehicle unrelated to the lane assist camera.
I turn on the car and there is no screen and even the radio will be on playing sound at times but no screen nor do any buttons control it then suddenly comes on when driving Happened a few times but now im sure something is malfunctioning .Now My back up camera screen went black while backing out of my driveway I damaged my home pvc fence and my right fender was damaged as well in this incident I currently will NOT count on the camera until there's a recall lastly suddenly at 50mph the vehicle started to brake sharply no one was on road or in front of me for no reason that happened awhile ago these sensors for safety are great but now I feel really uneasy that only happened 1x I am the original owner and never in an accident until hitting my own driveway gate with minimal damage but obvious and noticeable due to camera issue, not sure what to do but my deductible is high I even purchased extended warranty from nissan so gonna see if they can cover the issue it's a 2019 no trouble lights were ever on and passes nys inspection without issue everytime
[AEB] Automatic Emergency Braking System 2019 Nissan Rogue I bought a “Certified New” 2019 Nissan Rogue from Destination Nissan in March 2022. The vehicle had less than 8000 miles at time of purchase. I recently have experienced issues with the: [AEB] Automatic Emergency Braking System. I am not sure this rises to a complaint through the Consumer Protection Bureau; but it certainly warrants issues you may want to look into. The warning light indicating the front [AEB] system was NOT working was/is flashing. I figured it was covered under the “Certified New Car Warranty,” so I brought the car to Destination Nissan. Found out that it was NOT under warranty and the front camera had a bad circuit and would cost $2600 to replace. I did not even know this device was on the car when I bought it and really had/have no interest in having this option. I instructed Nissan to NOT do the repair and just remove the option. They said, they could not remove and I simply could ignore the warning by hitting the OK button. We must hit the OK button EVERY time my wife and I start the car. I was pretty surprised that the item was not considered part of the drive train and hence under warranty, as it automatically can stop the car if [AEB] deems necessary. I guess this on me for not doing my diligence at time of purchase, and is not really the main reason for writing you. I subsequently have been doing some research on [AEB] Automatic Emergency Braking Systems. I found and I am sure you are aware there have been numerous issues and recalls. Nissan, Honda, Volkswagen and others are and have been involved. I decided I better have the system checked by my own garage and mechanic. They do not have the necessary software. I called a second garage/bodyshop and found they could do the work but would be at the mercy of a “mobile” Nissan van which would have to be accessed. Their experience with this was not something convenient and advised me to just deal with Nissan myself.
After heavy rainfall I get the message "Warning Malfunction" and "Chasis Control System Error". Brought into Nissan and they can't seam to figure out the problem. I can not use cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, automatic breaking, etc. No water leaks have been detected.
The Rear Automatic Braking (RAB) indicator came on at the same time as the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection system warning light "Warning", "System Fault" message. The vehicle dynamic control (VDC) light came on at the same time. The air conditioner fan quit blowing. The car became difficult to handle. The "Rear Door Alert is activated" warning message is intermittent.

A light came on and upon looking it up, it states that my breaks needed to be evaluated. I had the brakes replaced in the summer of 2022, but the light didn't go out. I started having problems with the car stopping and hesitating to stop. I took the car in Feb 2023 to Nissan and they said the Electronic Breaking System was going out. In May, I noticed the Parking break didn't light up nor did it stop the car. I took it back to Nissan and they were talking $1300 to replace it. I feel this should be a recall. You need breaks to stop and that is not something that should be going out. My latest invoice for the fix is $1500 out of my pocket. It has to be fixed as my daughter uses the car and I can't afford an accident, insurance, nor funeral cost. The fix is cheaper.
My son was driving my wife's 2019 Rogue in dry and clear weather when the brake warning system started beeping and braking at about 20 MPH and about 20 feet from the car in front of him, as soon as the beeping started he pressed on the brake pedal as hard as he could. As he did this the brake pedal went completely to the floor and brake system did not stop or slow down at all, allowing him to hit the vehicle in front of him. I have taken it to State Line Nissan in Rhode Island to have it inspected, they said they could find nothing wrong with it. I also contacted Nissan Consumer complaint department and got a negative response from someone telling me how good they are at their job after I explained to them what happened. They kept telling me I was changing my story. They also told me according to the manual that is normal and told me they we're sending it back to my insurance company with a pompus attitude. I have talked to a Nissan teaching technician that teaches the mechanics and was told that is not supposed to happen and anyone who tells me otherwise does not know what they are talking about. Prior to this, about a week before, State Line Nissan had done a brake system flush while changing the oil. I feel that I am not the only one who has had this problem. Does the NHTSA ID# 22V549000 issued July7, 2022 affect this vehicle? I would like to get to the bottom of this, the vehicle is drivable but might not pass inspection next month as I have not had it repaired yet.

•When Starting vehicle makes a loud noise. •Dashboard where the GPS/Radio is turned off. •Speaker static •While driving the vehicle you hear how loud the engine is •Vehicle jerks •Steering wheel does not get hot. •Seat warmer either does not get hot or when it does, the temperature does not stay consistent and turns off. •Going in reverse or turning the steering wheel to go in a certain direction made a squeaking sound. •CarPlay function not working consistently. •GPS loses signal The lights are turned on rear automatic braking indicator, power steering malfunction warning light, brake support warning light, check engine light. Informed dealership about the lights in January 2023. Mechanic did not take a look at it. This month April 2023, my vehicle stopped suddenly without me pressing my brakes. Nothing was around the vehicle for it make it want to stop suddenly. Dealership for all other issues have been informed about each issues starting approximately 2 weeks after I purchased the vehicle, June 2022. Dealership states they cannot reproduce the issue and only changed the speaker and radio. Speaker and radio still giving issues. *The date listed below for incident date, is the first service appointment that the vehicle was taken in for the issues. No accident at this time to report an incident date.
This issue has occurred at least twice. The two major incidents were about a year apart and happened pretty much on the same stretch of interstate. The first time, I was traveling at around 70 mph on the interstate on a bright sunny day in late winter. I feel like the roads may have been fairly white and bright from salt, which could possibly have affected how well sensors were working. Without any warning that I observed, the car braked suddenly. Had I not been wearing a seat belt, it's possible that I could have lost control of the vehicle. Or if someone had been following me closely, I could have been hit from behind. I believe this happened right before I was about to go under and overpass. The second incident was just last night, probably within five miles of the previous incident. It seems like it's usually just before I go under an underpass, which makes me wonder if that triggered it somehow. This time when it happened, I looked at the dash and saw some kind of message flash and disappear before I could read it. It seems like it was white in a yellow bar or yellow on a white bar. Again, it happened really quickly. Now that I'm typing this I feel like it might have happened once before prior to the other two events. I think it was at night and may have been raining. It wasn't quite as noticeable. I feel like I had the cruise on and the cruise suddenly stopped working because the sensors couldn't do their thing. I feel like it was more of a sudden deceleration more than a hard brake, but I am not certain of that. I know I had the intelligent cruising and lane assist on last night. I think I probably did both of the other times as well. I remember thinking during the rain incident that that was a very poor design for the system to brake/decelerate when the sensors stopped working. The additional details following are from the newest incident since it's fresh on my mind.

The Emergency Braking System, Yes it is available upon request. The vehicle applied the braking system in the middle of the street, While I was driving. I have had this vehicle in the service center before for the same issue, And it was “Repaired”. The lights on the dash started flashing yellow, And it made a beeping sound before the system applied the brakes. There was nobody near me when this happened, It just applied the emergency brake by itself. The collision light on the dash blinks all the time at random, I’ve told service about it but they can’t reproduce the same issue.
Last month, January 2023, a light came on indicating there was a malfunction of the brakes. We thought maybe the brakes needed to be replaced. The problem is, we replaced the brakes and rotors in 2021 after an oil change and Nissan stated they were both going bad. This was odd because, when we purchased the car, in June 2019, the car had 34 miles. But at the time we took the car to Nissan, it was due for a State inspection. All NC cars have to be inspected on a yearly basis and that could've failed the inspection. In October 2022, we were hearing a loud squeaking noise and took the car to Nissan. They said we needed new breaks. We waited as the car was going to be sitting for a while. At an oil change in January 2023, the service guy said the brakes needed to be changed. Crazy because the car had 30,000 miles. After changing the brakes the squeaking noise stopped but a "malfunction of the brakes" light came on. Today, February 14, we took it to Nissan who informed us that the Computer Control Unit failure has happened and needed to be replaced. The Nissan Dealership wants $1380.87 AND the part is on backorder. He also stated that we need a new battery because when they ran the test, the battery went dead and had to be recharged. We hadn't been experiencing any issues with the battery, so not sure why that came up. Maybe the computer is reading the battery issue wrong too? We asked if this was a common issue and the service manager stated he had never heard of that happening. I checked for recalls and there are none, but there are many complaints about the brakes with the same issues as ours. Why hasn't there been a recall issued? If this is an issue and this car stops in the middle of the highway, we could be hurt or worse killed. I have a teenager driving this car as it was a graduation gift and now it is a death trap.
The car automatically stopped at a speed of 20 mph. This happened twice in one day. The AEB warning sign on the dashboard constantly comes on when going up hill.
I was exiting the highway and slowing for a light when my car just jerked to a complete stop.
My AEB engaged suddenly while I was driving about 40-45 mph without any other vehicles in front of me. Thankfully there was not a vehicle behind me. I called the dealership and there are no known recalls on my vehicle. They also informed me this was not something that they knew of as being a problem. I was told to make sure the sensor was clear but they would be unable to determine if there was a problem unless they could reproduce it. I am able to turn off this system, but it turns on automatically each time the car is started so I would have to disengage it each time I start my car. This is a dangerous situation as I drive to work on a busy highway in a metropolitan area with many vehicles on the morning/evening commute. I am concerned this could happen again while I am going much faster with cars behind me and this would potentially lead to a serious collision. My car is up to date on inspection. There were no warning lights on at the time of the incident.
Oct 27, 2022 Driving on a rural road in Rockport MA at approx 3:30p. Driving the speed limit, but slowed as I approached a metal plate in road. The car jerked violently, came suddenly to a complete stop and engine turned off. No warning lights were on prior and none came on after I started the car and continued to drive. Three cars following closely behind me all had to slam on their brakes. Lots of honking! I've had the car since 2019 and have had 3 minor episodes related to the problem where the car had a momentary pullback of forward movement, but NOTHING like this. I took it to the dealership on 9/28/2022 for this problem and Forward Collision Light on. They said, "sensor is blocked". They "cleared the code".

The automatic emergency braking system on my 2019 Nissan Rogue will come on and stop the car dead in its tracks for no reason or no obstruction in the way that should cause this to happen. I feel it is very unsafe as this has now happened to us while driving three times. and one day the warning indicator lights came on, but they don't stay on. It has been checked at Bristol Honda dealership in Bristol TN. and they did confirm that there is a malfunction with the brakes, however they also said they can't fix the problem, and we just purchased the vehicle from them May 30, 2022, just 4 months ago. also, the bright lights turn off and won't stay on but according to the dealership they turn off because it is too bright outside, which is absurd since I only use bright lights at night when it is dark. I feel this is very unsafe and could be deadly if not repaired or replaced.
In March 2022, the vehicle’s AEB suddenly engaged for no reason while I was making a left turn at an intersection. Only luck prevented a serious accident. I was able to roll the vehicle to a side road since it shut off. Vehicle was not able to start again after that and had to be towed. Vehicle was taken to the dealership for repair. They claimed to have repaired the entire CPU and replaced parts. They claimed the battery was loose and due to its movements may have pulled. Invoice they provided says otherwise as an AV unit was replaced and a “voluntary recall” for a software update. The car was picked up and costs were covered under warranty. I noted immediately that the vehicle appeared to be operating better. Including sensors and alerts I was unaware the vehicle had. This of course meant the vehicle was sold to me with bad software which it appeared they fixed. Fast forward to September 30, 2022 and once again the software is demonstrating a malfunction. Once again the vehicles AEB sensors are not working, the vehicle is throwing the same codes it has a few months prior. The vehicle will not start. This is a serious safety issue as had I been driving it, the vehicle would’ve again slammed on the brakes in traffic.
I had a terrible scare last Tuesday morning around 8:30 or 9 on September 13, 2022. I was driving along the hwy going about 35 to 40 mph when my car came to a hard sudden stop in the road I was so scared luckily nobody was behind me or it could have been an accident. couple days later I took it to Fred Anderson Nissan Dealership to get serviced, and the mechanic couldn't find anything wrong with it. I had this car for 2 months and I am afraid to drive it but I don't have another vehicle and I have to get to work. Also I travel on I-40 HWY frequently and I pray to God that it does'nt happen while I'm driving the speed limit which is 60-65. Please contact the dealership and see if they can resolve the problem before its too late. Thanks for your concern.
2019 Rogue has around 40k miles. Rear brakes wore through to metal backers at approx 30k miles making it necessary to to replace pads and rotors. I am now replacing brakes again. The dealer refused warranty and said rapid wear is normal for these cars, with some wearing out in as little as 10k miles.

While driving my SUV at approximately 30 mph all the warning lights started flashing on the dash console while sounding warning beeps. The vehicle locked up all the brakes and caused the vehicle to stop violently in a skid and still. The vehicle behind me barely stopped before striking me. The stop was so violent it caused my grandaughter to start screaming uncontrollably. I took the vehicle to Sheehy Nissan in Glen Burnie MD. They claimed they have no idea what is going on and charged me $159 to let me know. I am afraid to drive my vehicle now and definitely won't endanger my granddaughter again. Nissan needs to solve his issue!

AEB system spontaneously engaged while driving down roadway. No reason for AEB system to engage. Nissan has a "safety campaign" not a recall. Very hazardous situation and affects many year models of the Nissan Rogue already 14 fatalities and 5 injuries. These vehicles need to be recalled immediately and towed to the dealerships for repair. Very dangerous to drive and can come to an abrupt stop without warning.

Hello- The issue with my 2019 Rogue is the AEB system. On or around 2/11 we dropped our vehicle off for our annual state inspection, on 2/12, While driving the vehicle, the "Malfunction" light came on along with front/rear collision warnings. Car nearly stopped in the middle of the road. We returned the vehicle to the mechanic, who stated that the computer gave an error code that the battery needed to be changed ($+193). Seemed odd for a three year old car, but we wanted to be safe and changed the battery. On 2/14 we changed the battery. On 2/15 we had a repeat of the earlier occurrence. This timed it happened on a highway! Mechanic suggested taking it to dealership On 2/16 we took car to dealership. They diagnosed the issue as the EZ pass obstructing the camera, and they realigned the laser guidance system ($150). On Feb 15 the car broke down again, 30 miles from home. Same issue. we needed to tow the car to the dealership($300). They held it for a couple of days, and diagnosed the issue as a faulty Crank Sensor ($329). This solved the problem until 3/25, and now the issue is occurring again. PLEASE HELP! THE CAR IS NOT SAFE AND I DONT WANT ANYONE TO GET HURT! There are complaints about this issue all over the internet, including reports on the news.

While driving the 2019 Nissan Rogue (with only 19,200 miles) the vehicle suddenly engaged the AEB system. The vehicle was in the process of making a left hand turn when the incident occurred only traveling about 15 mph. As the brakes engaged, the steering wheel locked momentarily before power steering returned, additionally the engine completely died in the middle of the road. Luckily, the forward momentum was just enough for the vehicle to be steered into a side road. Once stopped numerous signals flashed in the dash including “AEB malfunction” and to see the dealer. Vehicle was totally dead and refused to start. A kind stranger assisted in pushing the vehicle to the side of the road. The insurance company sent a tow which allowed for the vehicle to be parked in the driveway. Nissan was informed of the issue and sent a courtesy tow to their local dealer. I was told the vehicle had an issue with the ECU. A special order was placed which took 6 days to arrive. Once installed, it was determined that the ECU was not the issue. As of this writing 7 days has elapsed and no reasonable explanation has been provided for the gross negligence on behalf of Nissan for selling such an unsafe vehicle. Under different circumstances the same event may have resulted in damaged property or worse yet significant injury or death. Cylinders in vehicle were repaired after 6 weeks, it spun to bearing in 3 & 4. Vehicle does not run as smoothly as it did before and dealership isn’t able to repair that.
I was driving on I-78W at 65-70 miles and suddenly the automatic emergency break went on and stopped my car. I look around and there was not car closed to me at all. My heart was Frozen just to imagine what would Happed if there was some behind me or even worse my family with me . This is not the first time. It happen 2 times already and the first one was a few weeks after I got it from the dealer. Every single time I bring it back to the dealer to make sure that everything was fine but they said that was nothing and all it’s good. Apparently no it’s not.
Emergency braking system engaging without provocation or cause
WHILE DRIVING CAR, a series of malfunctions occur. It has happened a few times and the problem list just keeps adding on. The first time for no reason at all the collision malfunction light turned on, causing the vehicle to slow down and have almost no power. Car was turned off and on then went away. Same thing happened a couple days in a row. Then while driving I noticed when pushing the rear defroster, the back up camera turned on WHILE DRIVING FORWARD..... the traction control light appeared, followed by the collision (AEB) warning malfunction shortly after. During each encounter with this the rear wiper would turn on very slowly. Now following all the engine light is turning on.
The front collision warning and braking system engaged while driving 3+ times, most recently on the highway. This could potentially cause an accident. The dealership has tried to fix this issue but it continues to happen. This is a safety issue for this car.

Hi, i have a 2019 nissan rogue yesterday I was driving at 60mph and nothing in front of the car suddenly the aeb light flashed and engaged the breaks thank god that no one was behind me.
Bought car in March 2021. In May 2021 and today Dec 6, 2021 two times the brakes automatically went on causing the car to brake in traffic and there was nothing in front of me for this to happen, nor where there any weather conditions to cause the automatic braking to happen. It is very scary. And very dangerous as there were cars behind me but no too close, but still a very dangerous thing. I want my money back for this vehicle I have paid for since March 2021 plus the 6000 I put down on the vehicle, or there better be a fix for this issue, as I am not about to lose my life or have an accident that could cause my death and others in the process. I have already notified a lawyer to take this case. When people buy vehicles, they expect a car that saves them, not harm them.

As I was bumper to bumper in traffic this morning going roughly 30-40 mph, my car stalled, rumbled, and all of my engine lights came on including engine malfunction. I was unable to accelerate at all, but luckily I was still able to pull over on side road. I restarted my car and now a couple lights remain, including engine malfunction. This could’ve been a serious accident if I were going faster.
While driving to work on a congested highway during AM rush hour on 10/18/21, my 2019 Nissan Rogue's AEB engaged the car's brakes while I was driving between 25-30 mph. The nearest car in front of me was approximately 100 feet ahead and there was no reason for it. My foot was lightly on the accelerator and not near my brake when I felt the car lurch and the familiar rumbling of the ABS system. As I reached my foot to where the brake pedal is, I felt that it was already depressed having done so automatically. I immediately tapped the accelerator to release the braking system. The car behind me had gotten rather close and was honking their horn. I have tried to reproduce the problem in the past 24 hours but have been unable to do so as it happened on its own. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to the incident. The vehicle is scheduled to be checked by the manufacturer tomorrow. If this had occurred at a high rate of speed, or in adverse weather conditions, it could have caused a multi-car collision resulting in damage to property, injury, or even death.

2x in 2021 while driving the automated braking system activated, slowing my car suddenly and unexpectedly. Luckily no cars were behind me or there would have been accidents. Both times I was about 5 feet away from an overhead traffic light. After June 2021 incident I brought the car to the dealer, who replaced the distance sensor. This braking happened in September 2021, have not yet contacted the dealer This also occurred once in 2020 however I thought it was a fluke. This seems to be an ongoing and potentially not fixable issue. I am afraid to drive my Rogue.

The first incident occurred in November 2019 with about 5,400 mile on the vehicle. On a side street College Ave next close to intersection, I experienced a false Automatic Emergency braking and luckily none was right behind me but if they had been I could've definitely been injured. I took the car in for repair and they reported that they fixed the problem using the solution to a 2017?18 recall. It happened a second time in April or May of 2021 on the freeway and I wondered if it was because of the reflective paint on the 15 south San Diego freeway after the onramp at University Ave. Again, luckily no one was following close behind or I could've been injured but I did not take it in again until a week or so later when it happened a third time in the same place. The automatic emergency braking system broke hard and I was very shook up, luckily again I avoided an accident but it was a very dangerous situation. When I took the vehicle in they said the sensor was not working and they assured me they fixed it wouldn't happen again. Last Tuesday, September 14, 2021, close to the same location of the second and third incident, again, with no cars or objects in front of me the emergency braking system slammed on the brakes in this 4th incident. I was again lucky no one hit me but I did fear for my safety and felt I ran the risk of dying if I drive the car again. We called Nissan and they said this would qualify for the Lemon Law. I called and the case number #44716633. I believe Nissan still hasn't figured out their braking problems in existence since 2017.
When starting the car after it sat for 6 days, the brake pedal went to the floor. Attempted to pump the pedal and still no pedal. Warning lights came for Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) System and Rear Automatic Braking (RAB) System. Looked under the hood and found that there was no brake fluid. Filled the container, pumped the brakes and still no pedal. Looked under the hood again and the brake fluid was again empty. No visible fluid on the ground. Nissan Roadside Assistance was called and the vehicle will be towed to the dealership. When the service department was contacted they informed that there has not been any other reports of this kind with regard to the 2019 Nissan Rogue, SV AWD.
The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) System Warning Light was illuminated. The vehicle also would not drive forward or reverse at the initial start-up. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer reset the AEB code and diagnosed that there was no failure. No repair was performed. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,502.

ON 7/20/21 @ shopping ctr opened door & seat was to floor & Dash not Displaying 'Brake' 'Start'. Sitting in seat took keys frm my pocket, held up near steering wheel & dash displayed start function. During this entire time I was pumping the brakes up & down to the floor. I started the Rogue & called Fuccillio. Yes I can bring it by. When I proceeded to put in gear 'R', the brakes seemed to hold enough. Backed up and felt brakes were normal. At Fuccillio due to time of day and too many customers ahead of me, aske to return on Wed. 7/21/21 at 10:30am. Left the car, waited for Lyft but none called so called friend for pickup at 11:30am. On Thursday at 4:20pm Joseph(Rep) called, he just had the Rogue react 20-mins ago. What did it do? He replied it 'jerked' him in the seat. Friday I went to Fuccillio to pick up a Loaner via Lyft. At this time still no idea what caused the 'Brakes to go to the Floor'. I was informed my Rear brakes were wearing & while there consider new brakes. I did agree since Rogue now has been on roads 4yrs. I purchased the Rogue as a CPO which was a Rental on 2018 for one year according to Carfax with 33K-miles. Joseph(Rep) then said the $120 he quoted to fix brakes & out the door he will cancel and apply $129 for Brake Fluid Change. I told him Fluid was changed at 38K-miles. He insisted he is just moving the one cost over to the fluid ignoring that fluid already done. I could only assume he was wanting money for the 2-days they had my Rogue & could not get it to fail again. I agreed to brake service & told Rogue would be ready on Saturday 7/24/21. Did not receive call all day so called. They ordered wrong brakes and he had new brakes ordered for Rogues with the Push-Button Emer-Brake Button. Again Rogue ready Mon. 7/26/21. Monday & Tuesday came & went. Wednesday by 4pm drove to Fuccillio. Rogue parked out front. Joseph also did not even have Receipt with my request stating failing brakes. Had to print one up but wording not what I expected.
While driving my 2019 Nissan Rogue on the freeway at 65 miles/hr in a clear and sunny day all of a sudden the front collision sensor came on and the car came to a sudden stop. There were no debris, objects on the road. I took the car to Nissan dealership and the technician recalibrated the sensors. Technician confirmed the issue was part of the "soft" recall and he reassured me the recalibration will prevent this from happening again. A few months later this happened again while driving on the freeway at 65miles/hr in a clear day. Front collision sensor came on and the car came to a sudden stop. Taking the car back to the dealership to have the sensors inspected again. This is very dangerous as I could have gotten into a serious and life threatening accident if there were other vehicles around me going at 65miles/hr.

2 months after buying the brand new car, I was driving with no one around and the car suddenly brakes on it’s own and shuddered. The front crash warning light came on. The car recovered and I took it to dealership. They replaced the censor. The censor continues to come on intermittently and I’ve taken it back three times. They state it could be frost in the lens or a bug. The last time it happened it was a 90 degree day with no one driving around me. The radio also comes on without the car being on and frequently switches modes on itself. It’s been to the dealership a total of 4 or 5 times over the same problem. The censor has been changed 3 times and as of now the car is not producing any codes when the hook it up but the. Ensor light still comes on from time to time
The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the forward collision avoidance sensor would active independently while driving at various speeds. During the malfunction, the forward collision avoidance warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where she had the fault code was cleared from the system. The contact called a dealer and was informed that the vehicle might have collided with an object for the sensor to illuminate. The contact insisted that the vehicle had not struck an object. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000

I WAS DRIVING IN REGULAR TRAFFIC (35-35) MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY FLASHED EMERGENCY BRAKE WARNINGS AND SLAMMED TO A GRINDING HALT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I THOUGHT I HAD BLOWN A TIRE OR HIT SOMETHING, SO I PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO CHECK AND SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. NO ONE WAS AROUND ME IN FRONT OR BEHIND. I HAD ENOUGH TIME TO GET OUT OF MY VEHICLE AFTER PULLING OFF INTO THE MEDIAN AND CIRCLE AROUND THE VEHICLE BEFORE ANY CARS PASSED. APPARENTLY, THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT GOING FOR THE 2017 AND 2018 MODEL ROGUE FOR THIS AEB ISSUE. IT IS STILL HAPPENING ON THE 2019 AS WELL. I HAD ANOTHER WARNING ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER BUT IT DID NOT STOP ME THAT TIME. IT JUST THREW UP THE WARNINGS AND BEEPS.

I WAS THE FIRST CAR AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN I STARTED DRIVING, THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED WITH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME. THANK GOODNESS THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS PAYING ATTENTION AND WAS ABLE TO AVOID HITTING MY NISSAN ROGUE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND MADE A COMPLIANT THROUGH NISSAN. THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, AS THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. IN ADDITION TO THE AEB SYSTEM ISSUE, A WEEK LATER, I WAS PULLING OUT OF A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, THE CAR LOCKED UP, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE CAR TURNED OFF FOR NO REASON. AGAIN, THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN TECHNICIAN STATED THAT IT COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE AND I NO LONGER FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE SUV I LOVED.

WHEN PURCHASED 2019 NISSAN ROGUE, THE AEB WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. DEALER SAID THAT CAR FRESHLY WAXED & COVERED SENSOR. IT WILL AWAY SHORTLY. SEVERAL DAYS LATER, PROBLEM EXISTED. BROUGHT VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER. SERVICE TECH STATED THAT SOFTWARE WAS OUT OF DATE & UPDATED SOFTWARE. 2 DAYS LATER, AEB WARNING LIGHT CAME BACK ON, AND NOW VEHICLE SUDDENLY BRAKED SLIGHTLY ON IT'S OWN WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY OBSTRUCTION OR INTERFERENCE IN THE CAR'S PATH. AFTER GOOGLING THIS CONDITION, I BECAME AWARE OF NISSAN'S ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL. DEALERSHIP NEVER MADE ME AWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS. AEB SENSOR HAS BEEN CHANGED, HOWEVER WARNING LIGHT CONTINUES TO FLASH WHEN THERE ARE NO CARS IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. 2017 & 2018 ROGUES HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. I AM CALLING MY NISSAN DEALER AGAIN TO GET IT SERVICED, NOT COMFORTABLE IT WILL FIX THE ISSUE BUT AT LEAST I'LL HAVE A HISTORY OS TRYING TO GET IT REPAIRED.

I WAS DRIVING AT I-80 WESTBOUND FROM COUNCIL BLUFFS TO OMAHA. JUST AFTER ENTERING IN OMAHA MY NISSAN ROGUE SL SUDDENLY SLOWED DOWN ITS SPEED FROM 65MILES TO 40 MILES FOR NO OBVIOUS REASON. I HAD MY PRO PILOT ASSIST FUNCTION ON AT IT SEEMS THAT THE CAR DECIDED FOR NO REASON TO DECREASE THE SPEED AS THERE WAS NO VEHICLE IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR THAT I COULD HAVE SEEN IN MY LANE. I WAS WORRIED AND GOT PANICKED AS THERE WAS A SEMI TRUCK BEHIND ME. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE PRO PILOT ASSIST FUNCTION AND ACCELERATED TO AVOID A REAR END COLLISION FROM THE SEMI. MY FAMILY A 1 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND WIFE WERE IN THE SUV WITH ME. I THINK WE COULD HAVE GOT KILLED BY THIS MALFUNCTION OF NISSAN ROGUE. PLEASE DO THE NEEDFUL TO HAVE NISSAN CHECK IT AND TO MAKE SURE IF THIS VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE.

OVER A COURSE OF THREE MONTHS THE AEB LIGHT WILL ACTIVATE ON MY DASH RANDOMLY. IT'LL FLASH THAN DISAPPEAR. AS I WAS GOING UNDER A BRIDGE AT A SPEED OF 40MPH MY CAR RANDOMLY BEGAN SLOWING DOWN WITHOUT ME APPLYING THE BRAKES WHILE UNDER A BRIDGE WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. AT FIRST I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF THE LIGHT BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME IT CAME ON NOTHING HAPPENED. IT JUST FLASHED AND WENT AWAY. THERE HAVE BEEN 3 OTHER OCCASIONS WHERE MY VEHICLE WON'T COME TO A COMPLETE, ABRUPT STOP BUT MY VEHICLE WILL REDUCE SPEED SIGNIFICANTLY AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT ME APPLYING THE BRAKES.
