Feb.29,2024 I had a warning light come on that said "Forward driving aids temporarily disabled front sensor blocked" when this message appears my cruise control is disabled. I contacted my dealer they had me bring it in, they said they fixed it. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs because the warning light was still coming on. They told me that it doesn't affect the performance of my vehicle & doesn't cause a safety issue. The light is still coming on.
Forward collision alarm set off causing the car to stop and steering to change while in cruise control this was on the freeway. This happened even after the sensors were changed. The car needs to taken off the road before someone is seriously injured or killed.
Ever since I purchased my 2023 Nissan Rogue in December 2023, on long treks, the Intelligent Cruise Control will just randomly shut off while driving down the interstate going 70+ mph on a clear day with no bad weather while other cars are around. Meaning, the car will suddenly slow down without braking in traffic and say that the forward driving aids are disabled, potentially causing an accident. In March 2025 I finally decided I'd had enough of this unsafe situation and asked the dealership to fix it, and they tried but failed. I asked again recently in November, and the dealership tried but failed to resolve the issue, and it persists. I can drive the vehicle but need to avoid using all of the safety features I have paid for in my expensive vehicle or risk my life to use them.

I started my vehicle, everything seemed fine, but once I reached my destination, the vehicles auto start/off activated which was normal. I was in a school line to pick up my child, once picked up my child and the auto start reactivated, that's when the problems be can. Once I exceeded 40 mph the car began to jerk violently, and as I tried to move over to the side of the road I couldn't fast enough the speed of the vehicle was locked at 5mph with the check engine light coming on and the "auto-start/off" indicator flashing, the violent jerking seemed to al so effect the vehicles air conditioning.
On Saturday, while driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue (currently under recall) down the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration. At the same time, every warning light illuminated on the dashboard. This occurred without any prior warning, forcing me to quickly and unsafely maneuver to the shoulder of the road while traffic was moving at high speeds. Component or System That Failed: Powertrain/engine/acceleration system (vehicle is available for inspection upon request). Safety Risk: My safety and the safety of others were at risk because the sudden loss of acceleration occurred in the middle of highway driving, creating a dangerous situation where I could have been struck by oncoming vehicles. Reproduction/Confirmation: UNKNOWN. The incident has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Inspection Status: The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Warning Lamps or Prior Symptoms: All warning lamps illuminated at the time of failure. There were no prior warning messages or symptoms before this incident occurred.
I know of recall. Nissan has been unable to address. Had my car go in for several malfunctions in August. Battery also bad. Now driving on [XXX] from San Antonio, TX, car malfunctioned. Car was unable to maintain speeds which could have caused an accident. Car under warranty for 1 more month. I was almost to new Braunfels, TX with my [XXX] in the backseat. Had to find a way home on backroads as it was also raining. I tried to have them resolve before and was told no remedy. Now I’m having engine issues. This could have resulted in a bad outcome due to these issues on a high speed Hwy and my car dropped to 35 and I was unable to go faster. This recall needs a remedy IMMEDIATELY. I will be contacting Nissan and local Nissan to address these issues now. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 50 MPH, she heard a chime and then the vehicle's forward collision brake system independently engaged. The contact stated that his oldest son did not see anything in front of the vehicle. The contact stated that his wife said the vehicle pulled sharply to the right and drove down an embankment and onto a property. The contact stated that the vehicle crashed head-on into a stack of railroad ties. All of the air bags had deployed. The contact stated that both his wife and oldest son were shaken but had minor injuries, mostly bruises on their shoulders and waists from the seat belts and abrasions on their hands and foreheads from the air bags. The contact said that there was a hole in the windshield on the driver's side that had sent glass fragments into his wife's scalp and feet, but no major lacerations. The contact stated that his youngest son, who was seated behind the older brother, had not suffered any severe injuries. The contact stated that his wife was transported to the emergency room and that both sons were treated on site but not transported. The state police arrived and filed a report, but the contact did not have the report number. The vehicle's front end was crushed to the wheel wells. The contact stated that the driver's side front and rear axles were fractured, and both tires had blown out. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact stated that prior to the accident, the vehicle's motor had been replaced in June of 2025. The failure mileage was approximately 65,500.

The screen turns off suddenly while the vehicle is in use. Additionally, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system is either deactivated or displays as “off” when the car is started. The sudden deactivation of the AEB system compromises the vehicle’s ability to automatically brake in critical situations, increasing the risk of a collision. The screen turning off could also limit access to important vehicle information or controls, further impacting safety. No warning lamps appeared prior to the failure. The issue with the screen and AEB deactivation happens when the vehicle is started, but there were no prior warnings before this started occurring. After so many recalls, I no longer feel safe with this vehicle.
Automatic braking and crash detection alarm failed causing collision with another vehicle, totaling the car. That was the third time it happened. The first two times I was able to get the vehicle under control before collision. Problem was never addressed at a dealership due to scheduling issues. Problem first appeared in May 2025, then in July 2025. Collision totaling the vehicle occurred on August 6, 2025.

I received a recall in the mail and around June i have calling since then try to get my recall repaired , i went the dealer today and they tell me they do not have the parts i am trying to get my recall repaired before emission and just wanted to report this matter.
While driving on the highway going 65mph my forward collision popped up and no car or pedestrian was in front of me. Then my check engine light came on and my car started to slowing down. I had to immediately get off the highway and stopped by O’Reilly were the guy had to reset the lights so I could at least get home. This is not the first time this has happened. This happened to me a month ago and luckily I was a mile from home where I was able to park my vehicle but the next day everything was off and I was able to drive my car normal to work. I’m not sure what’s going on with this vehicle. But I only had it for 3 months and I purchased this vehicle from carmax. I need this to be looked at and resolved quickly but I do use my vehicle for work
My vehicle abruptly went from 65 to 30 while driving with my children on the expressway. The check engine light and three other lights came on, and the car wouldn't start for an hr or so, and then it wouldn't accelerate past 25-30 miles, while all the check engine light and the other lights continued to stay on.
While stopped at a stop light, I turned off adaptive cruise control. Upon the light turning green and accelerating to 10-15mph, the parking brake spontaneously engaged locking up the rear wheels bringing the car to a immediate, unexpected and jarring stop in moving traffic. The vehicle was a rental and was not inspected afterwards. No warning lights appeared on the dash warning of the parking brake engagement nor did any appear after the parking brake was fully engaged.
There is a couple malfunction warnings that come on randomly and it disables the cruise control. It hasn’t affected my safety yet, but there is a possibility every time I drive my vehicle while those lights are on. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer and they’ve attempted a few things to repair it but it hasn’t been completely fixed. I have been told by the dealer that this is something that was fixed with the 2024 model per a recall but the 2023 models they haven’t been able to figure out yet. It’s been happening since I first got the vehicle. We bought it used.

When parking, my car keeps automatically applying brakes. I have turned off this setting yet. It continues to happen. Safety is at risk when my car stops in the middle of the street instead of continuing to back up. Cars following behind me are unaware that my car will randomly break. I have not reached out to a dealer with these concerns and have yet to get an inspection.
Automatic breaking system shuts off and on. As well as, the reverse camera screen goes blank when putting vehicle into reverse.
I received a Forward Collision Warning at approx. 35,700 miles. The distance sensor failed and the vehicle would not stop from hitting the car in front of me. I was able to swerve to avoid collision. Took to dealer at approx. 38,000 miles and they determined an internal failure in the distance sensor. Distance sensor and bracket was replaced. Labor and parts were $1,122
The forward collision warning sensor went out while driving. Took it to Granite Nissan in Rapid City, SD. They replaced it after a year of waiting on the part. The day after it was repaired, it went out again. They said they have no idea on how to fix the problem. This issue is very dangerous when it is icy outside. When the sensor goes out the car is very unstable. You can only drive at 25 MPH and that's pushing it. It seems like the car is trying to apply the brakes to all four wheels at once. The cruise control goes out and it is hard to maintain your speed with the pedal.
The Propilot safety system shuts down after 40 miles. Nissan has sent out a super technician and states there is no cure. This has gone on since I purchased the vehicle over a year ago. Nissan still has no cure. The Propilot system utilizes cameras and radar to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and keep the vehicle centered in its lane. Hi Chris, We drove the Rogue to Larned Saturday from McPherson on [XXX] . The cruise control shut off 4 times. Forward driving aids disabled. It took 5 to 10 miles each time to reset, then it worked without stopping or turning off the car. There was a lot of traffic and there are several towns we went through. I don’t think the sensors were bored from a plain path. The sensors were not dirty. Does Nissan have a cure for this? Thanks, [XXX] This appears to be a normal operating characteristic of this vehicle. This problem occurs when the radar has no feedback due to what they refer to as barren conditions. Once the radar receives feedback the system returns to operating normally. I understand your concerns and frustrations, however, we cannot repair a vehicle that is operating as designed. Dash displays message indicating forward driving aids are disabled due to "Lane camera over temperature" on a frequent basis. This occurs even in below-freezing weather when the interior of the vehicle is cold. Adaptive speed control, AEB, lane departure, etc., systems are disabled. A vehicle restart clears the error. Nissan is aware of this issue (reference their TSB reference number NTB22-088.) Even though this repeatedly occurs, the Nissan dealer claims it is normal behavior and will not take corrective action unless a DTC is found.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE Forward Collision Warning on this car since i have had it new . It has been to the local dealer and still has not been fixed. The problem is when it get colder 35 to 50 degrees F out site it will stop working for about 30 to 45 min then start working again for 45 min to an hour then stop working again. during the time it does not work the speed control stops working and forward collision sensors do not work. I have reported this to the local dealer and it has been in the shop over 5 times about this. I was told it is a software problem.
While I'm driving collision sensors activate with no reason and when they activate sometimes stops abruptly and locks it's self; doesn't allow me to go back or forward.
My Rogue has had problems with the Pro Pilot adaptive cruise control kicking off at the most inopportune times on the highway since new. It's dangerous to be passing a semi and suddenly the cruise control stops working and the car immediately starts to slow down. Traffic behind me isn't expecting me to suddenly start slowing down without brake lights in a passing lane. I've been honked at and nearly rear-ended twice. I've had the car for nearly a year but keep reading of others with the same problem and no fix from Nissan. I waited to take it in for this problem hoping there would be a fix, but the dealer just states they can't reproduce the problem. Of course they can't; it's intermittent with no pattern. I can provide a repair invoice next week when I pick up the vehicle from the dealer.

While driving on busy highway the warning of the collision sensor and emergency brake sensors goes off, reduces speed tremendously while driving and never goes off. When this happened to me I was over miles from home stranded and had to drive under 30 mph to make it to an exit for safety and call a tow truck.

My forward collision sensor/alert disables after driving 2-3 miles. This problem began at 5500 miles and reoccurs every time driven. I visited the dealership who explained this is a known issue and there is no fix yet available. Nissan will likely issue a recall once the issue is fixed. The technician explained the issue could be a sensor issue or a software issue with this model.
While driving at highway speeds, either in cruise control mode or not I get a sound notification and my dashboard shows a Malfunction message and all safety features have become disabled including cruise control. This has occurred at 389 miles, 3223 miles, 4835 miles, 5047 miles, 6860 miles and 8319 miles. Each time I brought it back to the Nissan dealer. They replaced camera assy-lane keep at 7487 miles and distance sensor at 8727 miles. I feel that I am at risk in that it happens at highway speeds (60-70) mph and suddenly cruise control and forward collision warning become disabled. This occurred on Oct. 24, 2023, Jan. 21, Feb 28, Feb 29, April 3 and June 2 of 2024

I was parked safely in a parking space with no vehicles around me and the car was clean when my front collision alert went off again and the malfunction warning light came on. Distance sensor was replaced. My vehicle is less than 2 years old and I continue to have faulty sensor issues.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IN CERTAIN EXIT OF HWY THE CAR GIVES ME THE SIGN TO EXIT OUT AND SUDDENLY SHUTS THE GAS OFF AND SLOWS THE CAR ABOUT 20 TO 30 MILES IN 2 SECONDS , AFTER I PAST THE EXIT I REGAIN THE CONTROL OF THE GAS ACCELERATION , TOOK IT TO DEALER FOR REPAIR 3 TIMES MANAGER DROVE THE CAR AND WITNESS THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME WE HAVE NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. I CONTACTED NISSAN AND I HAVE Case # [XXX] AND THEY TOLD ME THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND THIS IS A VERY BAD SAFETY CONCERN AND THE CAR IS STILL ALMOST BRAND NEW PURCHASED ON [XXX] AND I HAVE ALL THE RECORDS FOR ALL THE ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR IT AND ITS UNDER WARRANTY AND I HAVE NO RESULTS AT ALL I THINK NISSAN IS AWARE BY THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND THEY ARE TRYING TO DENY IT UNTIL SO MANY PEOPLE WILL GET KILLED FROM THIS BAD PROBLEM . I JUST REPORTED TO THE BBB.GOV THANKS. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The cruise control and safety driving system shuts off and the message “Forward driving aids disabled. Front sensor blocked” comes on. This happens every few miles now. Pulling over, shutting off the engine, and restarting it resets the system, but it cuts out again. Sometimes if I just keep driving, it will reset itself in a few miles. This has been dangerous at highway speeds due to it coming on and vehicle decelerating suddenly. It's also dangerous because it shuts off the vehicle avoidance system. In a 4 hour trip it can happen up to 6 to 8 times. We've taken it to dealership, but they have not found an error message etc and said they cannot do anything about it unless the issue gets worse or a recall is created for the Lane Camera, which has had reported issues of overheating. The following web link has more information of other drivers with the exact same issue as I described... Since purchasing the vehicle Dec. 26 2023 there have been a handful of times that the forward collision light comes on and blinks. About the 4th or 5th time this happened, the vehicle also applied the brakes. Slowing me from about 60 mph to about 40 mph rather quickly. Luckily at the time of night this happened there was no traffic around me. It took me a couple of seconds to realize what had happened and to push on the accelerator to regain speed. While the light is blinking my cruise control is disabled. I'm not really sure what else may or may not be disabled but a car that brakes at will scares the hell out of me. I won't let anyone else drive it and if I see other Nissans on the road I stay away from them. I have the 1st of what I feel will be many repair appointments scheduled for Friday February 9th.

Two repairs unsuccessful’ Warnings and codes of malfunctioning Brakes applied for no reason while I was driving. There was nothing blocking the sensor. No bad weather. No pedestrians. No traffic. They applied. The car stopped wouldn’t move. I received a malfunctioning warning. It went into team Nissan 12/23 ( where it was purchased new 12/23) .They said it was repaired at that first visit for it. Malfunction warnings started again. It was brought back to team Nissan where they told me it’s malfunctioning, computer read codes for malfunction auto brake feature. Nissan service said sensor needs to be replaced but the part is backordered with NO eta. Said a month to a year or more. Sent me on my way. My children ride in this vehicle. I was told they won’t disconnect it because it’s a “safety feature” even if it’s braking on its own for no reason. They didn’t care that there are kids in the vehicle. Nissans consumer affairs is also little help! I’ve told them endless times our safety is at risk, myself annd my two children, and they don’t care. They applied for a buy back and said I’ll have to wait a month to hear but it’s not a guarantee and likely won’t happen and I don’t have to drive it if I don’t want to. What should I do for a vehicle? This is a new vehicle and it’s NOT SAFE! It’s applied the brakes while I’m driving.
In the 5mph stop and go traffic of leaving a sloped parking garage, the brakes did not respond to repeated attempts to stop the Rogue. The brakes did not work with pumping them, hard pressure or light pressure. No collision warning alerts activated. (No beeping, lights or camera occurred as it usually does when an object is close to the vehicle.) No emergency braking activated. The only thing that stopped the Rogue was the impact with the vehicle in front of me. There is damage to the front bumper as well as the rear bumper of the car I hit. I turned off the car for 2 minutes and turned it back on to move it out of the way of the traffic behind me. The brake function returned as normal as did the collision warning alerts. The Rogue was taken to the Nissan dealership from which I purchased it. They state that they are waiting for a Nissan representative specialist to come to the location to attempt to reproduce the issue and fix the problem. There have been zero previous incidents of any kind with this vehicle. I purchased it new in March, 2023. The insurance claim has been filed but no body repairs have been scheduled because the priority is the brake system failure.
In April 2023 we had to bring the car in because the seat belt got stuck engaged to where we couldn’t unbuckle it to get our son out of his car seat. We almost had to cut the seat belt to get him out. We barely were able to squeeze him out of it. My wife was driving the car down a highway and there was a full-size leather couch sitting in the middle of the highway. The car’s Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system features never picked up the couch in the middle of the road. My wife had to swerve to the left to try and miss the couch and it clipped the right side of the car damaging the fender flare. Also, while pulling out of our driveway a pedestrian was walking behind the car and the Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection system didn’t pick up the person behind the car. The person had to hit the back of the car for us to stop to keep us from hitting them. While pulling into the driveway where our other vehicle is parked the car’s Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection System wouldn’t let us know that we were about to hit the parked car in our driveway. On June 14, 2023 we brought the car to Ray Brant Nissan to be inspected. The Ray Brant Nissan Technician stated that the Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection system is only supposed to work when you are within 6 inches of the item you are about to hit. the technician took me for a test drive and he said watch this with the car in front of us. The Automatic Emergency Braking System did not brake for the car and he had to slam on the brakes so we didn’t hit the car. So, he then stated that the car in front of us was too small. I reached out to Nissan Consumer Affairs and the lady named Tatiana called me back and stated that she contacted Ray Brant before she called me and as far as she is concerned it’s working the way it is supposed to and she stands by the Nissan Dealer Ray Brant and hung up on me.

I was parking car. Car unexpectedly accelerated, hit object in front of me & continued accelerating off road into a field until I got car into neutral. Car has not been inspected for cause. At time of accident I assumed I made an error. Danger is car was going extremely fast with no control to stop. Drive off road maybe 20 feet after hitting a manual water pump (at campsite). There were children playing in area.
Front collision and rear collision components went out and have been replaced once already. These components are now failing again. The back up camera goes out in the middle of me backing out which could cause collision with another object or person. The front collision comes on while driving when there are no objects in front of me. All issues have been confirmed by the dealer and replaced once but now I have been waiting on parts to fix again and it has been over a month. Each time I take the vehicle in the parts are on back order. I have only owned the vehicle since October 31, 2022, so 7 months.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the message "Engine Failure, No Power, Service Immediately" was displayed and the vehicle stalled. Moments later, the vehicle restarted, and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the forward distance sensor had failed which caused the vehicle to stall and the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,200. The consumer stated the dealer will not inform her if the part is available.
Mileage: 4,200
I was driving home from work during 5pm rush hour. I was coming up on a stop light going about 30mph and was trying to slowly come to a stop but noticed that my car wasn't slowing down so I tried to brake harder by pushing on the brake pedal but the pedal resisted my foot pressure so I pressed harder on the pedal but the car took over the braking and started to beep the collision warning. I was not in control of the braking system the car would not stop. The car wasnt allowing me to brake. I heard all kinds of beeping from the car as everything happened so fast. I ended up rear ending someone. Max speed was roughly 30mph and air bag did not deploy.

We were in an accident that has caused injury to the driver (fiancé) and passenger (myself). The impact was on the front driver side. No airbags deployed. No emergency braking activated or collision warning appeared. The cruise control was on, that also activates all sensors. We do not have insurance information yet, but this vehicle is most likely going to total. We have yet to receive the incident report from the police.
