UNKNOWN There are two issues. First one: After using the defrost, the rear window will shatter after the air pressure is change, opening the driver's side door to get in,the back glass shattered it. Second one: The technician informed me that on the nissian rogue, there is a gap in the back door panel that glass falls into making it nonexistent to retrieve all the glass, complicating the locking mechanism. I can hear pieces inside that door when opening it.
Rear door glass shattered. Vehicle was parked during work hours.
Back window spontaneously busting out
While parked, all doors closed, back window exploded
On 12/03/2025 due to frost on my back windshield I activated the rear defrost on my 2024 Nissan Rogue, Approximately 30 seconds after activating the defrost feature the rear window shattered causing a blinding effect.
Infotainment system malfunctions, screen freezes or goes black when trying to use back up camera. CarPlay malfunctions regularly, Bluetooth fails to connect phone. Car changes temperature to Celsius frequently even changes back after reverting to Fahrenheit. Transmission has a juddering (skipping) feel when trying to maintain speed.
My sunroof exploded while driving down the road for no reason. It sounded like a gun shot and was alarming. Glass exploded and some flew off while some came into the car.
The morning after I bought this certified pre-owned 2024 Nissan Rogue from a local Nissan dealer, I went to get into the car, and after sitting down and closing the door, I heard a crash. When I looked back, I noticed that my rear window had fully collapsed. I got out of the car, and saw that the entire window was cracked and had imploded.
I opened the driver side front door, got in, closed the door & the rear window shattered. No passengers. Nobody got hurt. No police report. Nothing fell on car. Dealer was no help. Insurance company made an appointment to get it fixed tomorrow morning. No inspections. No warnings. Going to cost me $400.00. Car is available for inspection anytime. Very frustrating. Car is 16 months old.
Vehicle was parked in driveway on a reasonably cool day and the rear hatch window fractured
Car was driving rough, with hesitation with acceleration and MIL lamp was flashing. Car with only 25,924 miles ( bought with 24,641miles). Dealership said 3 plugs have melted which is not normal wear and tear. Nissan still trying to figure out if it's under warranty and said it is not part of recall. It's possible that this car has the recalled vct transmission and recall should be expanded because this is a serious safety issue.
It was a cold morning and we defrosted our windows before leaving the house. We had been driving for about 2 hrs. We stopped and while in the car sitting with it parked, idling and with the heat on, there was a loud explosion sound and the back windshield blew out on its own on the passenger side! It flew outward behind the vehicle. It was like pressure came from within the vehicle and pushed it out? The whole back windshield started crackling for a long time and bubbling. This was very Scary when it happened! If someone or another vehicle was behind ours this could of been very dangerous or even worse if we were driving at the time and it caused an accident! I googled Rogue rear window exploding on its own and this has happened to others!!
I rented a 2024 Nissan Rouge from Enterprise. When it was picked up the only noticeable damage was on the driver side back wheel well where the trim piece appeared to be loose and there was a scuff on the finish. On [XXX] around [XXX] a business peer and I were just leaving Rosen Supply in Woodinville, WA. We were in the 2 front seats; car had not yet been turned on, and we were discussing our next business stop. While adding in the address to our phone GPS the back window imploded with no warnings, leaving 2 holes on the side of the window (have photos). In the moment we thought we had been shot at or someone had thrown a rock at the car. No one was around. Then a second implosion happened, and it shot glass out about 3 feet from the car into the parking lot and into the back of the car. This is when all of the glass fell out. Two people from inside of the building heard the explosions and came out to help us. They provided tools to clean up the glass in the parking lot. This was a very traumatic event and caused my peer to have heart palpitations and other concerns. Had I known this was something that could happen I would have chosen a different vehicle to rent. As I was stopped, my rear windshield spontaneously exploded. There were no outside factors, no rocks, no external trauma.
Faulty infotainment system Here are some of the issues that occur on an ongoing basis - since I’ve purchased this brand new Rogue - not all of them at one: - doesn’t come on - no sound - no AM or FM stations come up - 1/2 the speakers have no sound
I have problems with my reverse camera. When in reverse sometimes it will freeze or show a blank screen other times it will act normal. I went to the Deloris 3 times 1 time they replaced the camera but it kept doing the same thing the other 2 they could not verify.
I have a 2024 Nissan Rogue Platinum with a faulty infotainment system. The screen has not worked since the day I took delivery of the car, the dealership assured me only a simple update would be needed to fix the issue. However, several months and only 3k miles later, I've had the screen replaced on the car. Unfortunately, this has not fixed the issue, it still malfunctions. (Photo attached is a month after the replacement) From small pixel, to green lines, and even completely blacking out. The volume stops working, the backup camera done engage, and the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. I have been to the dealership over 5 times for this issues and have contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs multiple times, and yet I still have a faulty infotainment system. I am not sure why this is happening but I know I am not the only one. I was actually referred to fill out this for by someone else also having this issue. I purchased a new car for safety and reliability which have yet to see from this vehicle. Nissan keeps dismissing my concerns, they essentially told me the car is perfectly fine and functioning to standard. But, how can this be safe? I would be safer in a car from the 90's. I feel cheated, lied to, and taken advantage of. And I KNOW I am not the only one, and now just in the USA, but worldwide.
The Body Control Module System goes to sleep intermittently. Nissan reports that it is a manufacturer error but Nissan has 0 fixes or recommendations. They refuse to buy the car back. The BCM system is a safety hazard as my lights don't always come on and it is interconnected with other systems including the air bag system and safety restraint system. This is a huge concern to me as I don't want to have to worry if my restraints or air bags will work when needed. Also, I have had other issues related to infotainment system. It is a brand new vehicle and should not have all these issues causing me to question if I'll be safe. I have video proof of all issues.
Car turned off 2x at various times(not the same day)-took around 5 minutes for car to start Phone doesn’t connect 30% of the time—-have to reconnect in settings At time the doors will not open When trying to send message it repeats the message & then doesn’t send Maps flip between Google maps/safari maps When recentering the car—-the previous settings do not play Camera don’t always alert
*All dash screens have gone totally black with no info being displayed while driving at interstate highway speeds. Displays stayed totally black for about 10 minutes and the came back on. *Steering assist activated without any warning without cruise being turned on causing me problems when trying to change lanes. *With the cruise control not being selected, the vehicle suddenly started to accelerate until I applied the brakes and slowed the vehicle. *GPS not reliable. On a recent return trip, the system had us locked on a location we were at possibly 8 hours earlier. The GPS never updated as we came home driving thru West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, & finally New Jersey. *Radio constantly displays a message that no receivable stations are available when we select the AM or FM bands, but Satelite radion is available. Although the radio problems are not a safety issue, they are a nuisance when traveling and trying to listen to local stations for road and weather reports. *Recently occurring problem with the cargo door suddenly closing while we are loading/unloading the cargo area. *We have had the vehicle back to the dealership many times for these problems with no resolutions to these recurring problems. We had opened a case#[XXX] with Nissan North America, but it was closed back in mid March2025 when we thought the problems were resolved. The re-occurring problems caused us to open a new case#[XXX] with Nissan North America. We want Nissan to buy back or replace this vehicle since they cannot resolve the stated problems. Radio loses audio and infotainment system resets on random starts. Internet research shows this common problem among 2024 Nissan Rogue Platinums and requires a manufacturer fix to software system
While driving at 65 mph with cars behind me, I was in a passing lane and car came to a hault in the middle of traffic to a complete stop. Gas pedsl or brake pedal wouldn't work. Car was half on road, half on median. Scary situation.
Smell of gas in the cabin area of SUV. Also, my garage is attached to the house & I can smell this in my house. Other people have smelled this, so I am not the only one. I brought my SUV to dealership, but they could not find anything going on. Are aware of these problems, but no fix. My vehicle is 7 months old & I am very disappointed in Nissan. I had a 14 year old Nissan Rogue before this & no problems with a gas smell. Nissan… you have to do better. This will be my last Nissan purchase if this isn’t resolved. And will voice my opinion to others. Thank you!
Upon starting the vehicle, there is a distinct gas smell that fills the cabin. It goes away after awhile driving, but happens again when the car has been turned off and started again. This comes through the air vents in the cabin. The outside of the car, from under the hood, also smells of gas when parked. The car cannot be parked inside a garage, or the entire garage smells of gas.
CVT error displaying on dashboard as well as check engine light vehicle would not start up initially. After 20 minutes it started with a loud grinding noise occurring.
The monitor and camera system does not always come on. The gps doesn’t work and if you try to backup there is no indication someone is behind you because the cameras are inoperable. This is definitely a safety issue. I have taken the vehicle to 2 service centers and it is still not fixed. As a matter of fact the issue happened before we drove it off the lot and we were told there was nothing wrong with the system
Since I drove it off the lot, the display screen intermittently and frequently blacks out leaving me with no music, no GPS, no cameras, no hands free phone. Dealership says they can’t fix it, Nissan North America says they can”t fix it. So I just spent over $49,000 for a brand new vehicle under warranty that no one can fix and I can’t rely on. Without cameras, I am not comfortable driving this defective vehicle. The other display doesn’t work accurately either. Outside temperature shows 75 degrees when in reality it’s 91 degrees and it also shows I got 68.6 miles per gallon (ha, ha). So I keep wondering what’s next?
Car was purchased band new on June 11, 2024. The day after purchase, the screen went blank and there is no backup camera, and has occurred every day. This is a safety issue for me. Had the car in to the service department twice. Nissan approved replacing the screen unit, however; the part is back ordered and it could take months for it to come in. In the meantime, I have a brand new defective car with no backup camera. Dealership said backup camera is not required on cars, hence they do not deem this as a safety issue.
