While driving, I noticed smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. Within moments, flames appeared in the engine area and spread quickly, causing severe damage to the front portion of the car including the engine, electrical system, and body. No warning lamps, error messages, or unusual behavior were observed prior to the incident. The fire started suddenly without any indication of mechanical or electrical issues. My safety and the safety of others nearby were put at risk as the fire escalated rapidly. The problem has not been reproduced or inspected by the manufacturer or dealer yet, but the vehicle was completely disabled and is no longer operable due to the fire damage. Cause of the fire is UNKNOWN at this time.

The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the oxygen sensor, rotors, and brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. While driving, the vehicle started to stall. The brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle was slow to respond. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

While I’m driving it starts to stall. Especially after I press on the breaks and try to press on the gas again it being ins to like jerk and not want to go. I thought it was my suspension or that it needed a wheel alignment but after paying for those to get renewed it’s still having that problem and the mechanic said it was most likely the transmission.
Transmission failure in under 3 years. I replaced my transmission and rear assembly in 2022-23. It started with pressing the gas pedal and the car wouldn’t accelerate while in heavy traffic. I spent over $3,000 on a brand new engine. Come 2024 the exact same problem with the repair price being quoted at around $7,000. There was no hard driving on the car so I don’t understand how it’s going so soon. I’ve never had so much trouble with a car.
I've looked up the years of my vehicle and the year 2014 falls within transmission problems. Cvt to be exact. My transmission just went out and zero chance of fixing. $5000 minimum. Cut has been known to have faults
Entire car needs repairs problems with starting
Car slips and jerks when accelerating at any speed as low as 10 mph. Check engine light came on, code is transmission failure. The code came on before routine maintenance was required. The car was not fixed and should have not had this issue happen.
My Nissan Sentra burst into flames on July 27,2022-not sure why this occurred; the car was last serviced before this incident on June 17, 2022-the car's Compressor/AC were replaced. I had just parked the car at a hotel when the fire began. The only inspection was from a fire marshal and the insurance company that car was a complete loss. There was no warning when this happened and had I had a full tank of gasoline this would have gravely injured me. The car had seven years of meticulous upkeep so this catastrophe was totally unexpected. The autos parked on either side of me suffered serious damage as well.

FUEL PUMP FAILURE AT 75K MILES. RESULTED IN VEHICLE SPUTTERING, THEN STALLING, DASHBOARD LIGHTS GOING OUT AND THEN TURNING BACK ON WITH MORE THAN HALF A TANK DIFFERENCE IN THE FUEL READING, AND THEN RAN OUT OF GAS ENTIRELY. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP WHO DENIED THERE BEING AN OPEN RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE EVER, WHICH IS INCORRECT AS I'VE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION FROM A RECALL. THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY UNSTABLE AND IS NOW ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS HOLDING BRAKE FLUID. CAN'T FILL TANK AT THE GAS STATION EITHER BECAUSE REFUELING STOPS IMMEDIATELY EVERY TWO SECONDS AFTER TURNING ON EVEN IF YOU PHYSICALLY HOLD IT THERE... YOU CONTINUE TO HAVE TO CLICK IT BACK ON BECAUSE THE FUEL IS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE VEHICLE. THIS CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED ENTIRELY. IT IS UNSAFE AND HAS STRANDED ME 3 TIMES AND REPAIRS HAVE BEEN UNREASONABLE. NISSAN MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND ISSUE RECALLS THAT WILL FIX THE ISSUES FREE OF CHARGE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH A CODE P0101. I HAD MAF SENSOR REPLACED WITH NISSAN PART AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. NOW I AM GETTING A READING FOR LOW VOLTAGE FOR THE MAF SENSOR. AFTER RESEARCHING, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. I NOW HAVE TO TAKE CAR IN TO HAVE ELECTRICAL WIRING AND COMPUTER CHECKED BECAUSE THERE IS SOME PROBLEM WITH THE CAR'S COMPUTER COMMUNICATING WITH MAF SENSOR.SECONDARY PROBLEM IS NOW THE TRACTION LIGHT RANDOMLY KEEPS ILLUMINATING AND CAR LOSES ACCELERATION FROM TIME TO TIME. AFTER LOOKING FURTHER ONLINE, THERE ARE VARIOUS COMPLAINTS AND RECALLS REGARDING THIS KNOWN ISSUE. WE WERE NOT INCLUDED IN RECALLS REGARDING CVT TRANSMISSION KNOWN ISSUES. PLEASE HELP GETTING THIS RESOLVED TO OUR SATISFACTION.

I HAVE NEARLY BEEN INVOLVED IN MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS AS A RESULT AND OFTEN HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO SQUEEZES MYSELF INTO THE HE TRUCK LANE ALTHOUGH THEY STILL ARE ABLE TO OVER TAKE ME. MY CAR HAS 50,000 MILES AND IS WELL KEPT BUT IT STRUGGLES SO MUCH GOING UPHILL I CAN FEEL THE WHIRRING AND IT'S LIKE MY TRANSMISSION IS STRUGGLING TO KEEP UP WHILE EVERYONE PASSES ME AND TRIES TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH ME AS A RESULT OF MY SUDDEN DROP IN SPEED. I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT FIND/RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND THE CAR DID NOT HAVE A RECALL. NOTHING WAS DONE. 2ND TIME: I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN A REGULAR STREET AT ABOUT 30 MPH AND AS I TRIED ACCELERATING, THE CAR STARTED SHUDDERING AND AGAIN, WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ANY MORE. I HAD TO COAST/PULL THE CAR OVER INTO A NEARBY NEIGHBORHOOD. 3RD TIME: I WAS ON THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 50 MPH WHEN THE CAR WOULD JERK AS I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL, THE RPM GAGE JUMPED AROUND, AND THE CAR WOULD LOSE POWER SO I HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE ENOUGH TO ENTER THE FREEWAY AT A SAFE SPEED, BUT WOULD ONLY GET TO A SAFE SPEED AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FORWARD IN THE EMERGENCY LANE FOR A FEW MINUTES. WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 NISSAN SENTRA (66,000 MILES) ON THE HIGHWAY, I NOTICED THE RPMS STARTED FLUCTUATING, FOLLOWED BY DIFFICULTY SHIFTING. I EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND CAME TO A FULL STOP. THE CAR WAS THEN UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. PUTTING IT IN PARK, TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND ON AGAIN ALLOWED ME TO ACCELERATE AND DRIVE TO A GAS STATION. I CALLED MY MECHANIC, HE SAID IT COULD BE CONTAMINATED GAS, AND DIRECTED ME TO FIND A NEARBY AUTOZONE, WHERE AN EMPLOYEE SCANNED THE CAR AND AGREED IT WAS CONTAMINATED GAS. I PURCHASED SEAFOAM AND PUT IT IN THE GAS TANK, WITH ASSURANCES THAT THIS WOULD CLEAR UP THE ISSUE BUT THE RIDE MAY BE 'BUMPY'. I DECIDED TO FINISH MY DRIVE TO NEW ORLEANS. UPON ENTERING NEW ORLEANS AND SHIFTING TO STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, IT WAS APPARANT THE ISSUE HAD NOT RESOLVED ITSELF. THE VEHICLE WAS BARELY ACCELERATING OR SHIFTING. IT FELT VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE THROUGH AN UNKNOWN CITY. THE FOLLOWING MORNING, I BROUGHT IT TO AUTOZONE AGAIN, THIS TIME THE SCAN SHOWED ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I HAD A TECHNICIAN REBOOT THE COMPUTER, BUT NOTHING CHANGED. NOT KNOWING THE SEVERITY OF THE ISSUE AND BEING 500+ MILES FROM HOME AND MY MECHANIC, I DECIDED TO RISK THE DRIVE BACK TO NASHVILLE, HAVING HAD EVERYONE AT THE AUTOZONE AND MY MECHANIC TELL ME AT 66K MILES THE TRANSMISSON SHOULD NOT NEED TO BE SERVICES. THE CAR WAS CLEARLY HAVING ISSUES, BUT I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO HIGHWAY SPEED. I MADE IT TO ABOUT 200 MILES OUTSIDE OF NASHVILLE WHEN IT SIMPLY BECAME TOO UNSAFE FOR ME TO CONTINUE ON THE HIGHWAY. I GOT A TOW 200M HOME, DIRECTLY TO MY MECHANIC. HE INSPECTED THE TRANSMISSION THE FOLLOWING DAY AND FOUND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS DANGEROUSLY LOW WITH NO SIGN OF LEAKAGE. AFTER CHANGING THE FLUID, HE DETERMINED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I TOOK IT INTO CARMAX, WHERE I HAS PURCHASED THE VEHICLE JUST OVER A YEAR PRIOR. THEY CAME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION.

FOUR DIFFERENT MECHANICS, INCLUDED A NISSAN TECHNICIAN, ALL AGREED THAT IT WAS A BAD CVT TRANSMISSION. NISSAN TECHNICIAN LOOKED UP EXTENDED WARRANTY, WHICH WAS OFFERED ON 2007-2010 MODELS, BUT HAS NOT YET BEEN EXTENDED TO NEWER MODELS AND THEREFORE COULD NOT BE APPLIED TO MY CAR. I JUST SPENT $3800 TO GET THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED ON A 3 1/2 YEAR OLD CAR.
