The 2017 Nissan Sentra is part of a recall due to significant transmission issues, including sudden loss of power and jerking motions while driving. Overview of the Recall Nissan has issued a recall for certain 2013 to 2017 Sentra models due to problems with their continuously variable transmissions (CVT). Owners have reported various issues, including: Sudden loss of power while driving, which can occur without warning, posing a serious safety risk. Jerking or shuddering motions during acceleration, making the vehicle feel unstable. Transmission slipping out of gear, which can lead to loss of control. this has seriously affected my vehicle VIN number is [XXX] , 2017 Nissan Sentra. I called the local dealership and was told that since it was a 'rebuilt' title recalls didnt apply. My research shows that this is not true. The damage that occurred to my vehicle that affected the title was not even in the area of the recall of transmission. It was in the rear of the vehicle. Can you help me with this problem please? The continuously variable transmission (CVT) in my vehicle failed prematurely, leading to significant safety concerns. The car experienced severe jerking, hesitation, and loss of power while driving, especially at highway speeds. Eventually, the transmission stopped functioning properly, making it unsafe to drive. There were no warning lights, messages, or dashboard indicators to alert me of any issues before the failure. A dealership confirmed that the transmission fluid was burnt, contaminated with metal shavings, and the internal components had failed. However, due to the vehicle’s design, the CVT fluid is sealed and inaccessible to consumers for routine checks or maintenance, meaning the issue was undetectable until complete failure occurred. This defect poses a serious risk, as many drivers have reported sudden power loss, delayed acceleration, and unexpected breakdowns in traffic. Nissan has had a history of CVT failures in previous models, leading to warranty extensions, but similar issues persist in newer models without proper acknowledgment. If left unaddressed, this could lead to more drivers experiencing dangerous situations on the road.

When I go up hill my car doesn't Want to automatically shift, my rpms start revving, and the car won't go over 50 mph. It's been an on going issue since I purchased the vehicle in 2020. Ive taken it to nissan on more than a couple occasions and the assured me there was no issues. Now as of last week after I brake my car loses driving power but doesn't lose actual power. Now my check engine light is on.

CVT transmission. On my way to work at 7:40 am I was stopped at a light and when it turned green I pressed the gas, but instead of going I heard a bang noise and the car wouldn't go. I tried turning the car off and back on and it still wouldn't go in drive or low. However it will go in reverse. I called my Local dealer at Bayshore Nissan NY. The service writer told me the extended warranty expired Between June and July. My car is a 2017 Nissan Sentra with 54,474 miles. And I’m still making payments until September of this year.

The contact's wife owns a 2017 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the RPM was raised; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact’s wife stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact’s wife was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence and later drove the vehicle to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the clutch had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 35 MPH on another occasion, there was an abnormally strong odor of burning rubber in the cabin. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the clutch had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,336.

I purchased my 2017 Nissan Sentra SV brand new. I was hearing a whining noise, so I got a diagnostic test done and it was my transmission, and I needed to replace it. It has a CVT and I have read that there are many problems with the 2017 Nissan Sentra CVT transmissions - complaints and class actions. I talked to Nissan Corp who said they would pay half of the cost to fix it. I am writing because I think there should be a recall on these transmissions, and I should not have had to pay anything. They know there is an issue with the CVT transmissions and should not be selling cars if they know there is a problem, and they do not tell the consumer to beware.

Car stopped at a light in the middle of the day 4/15/23 and when turned back on the car would not drive forward. There we had to push the car into a safe location and get it towed home.

Mar 7, 2024

Vehicle lost power and down shifted to first gear and got stuck in it while going 60mph and with traffic all around and behind me. Will not drive or shift out of first gear and transmission must be replaced now. No warning lights ever came on, no warning of it happening, it just slipped down into first and stalled there, wouldn’t go when pressing the gas peddle.

Feb 23, 2024

My transmission went out and is set to be fixed by Nissan at my cost! No warning....just was driving my daughter home from girl scouts and the transmission went out going 35mph.

We have been having issues with our 2017 nissan sentra pretty much since we bought it. it shakes ,shutters etc during exceleration. we asked if it needed a tune up and were told manufacture recommendation was for 124,000 miles. So it didn't seem to be the problem. we continued routine maintenance. On Sat 2/17/2024 the car wouldn;t "go" while we were on our way to work. It didn't want to excelerate etc. It struggled the entire way. We pulled off and parked. turned off the engine and gave it a few minutes. We were abler to reach our destination there after, but for safety decided to have towed home. This was covered by our car insurance. However after talking to a family member ,who works for DEALERSHIP, they suggested looking into Recalls. We have not been able to find one that relates to the CVT problem that we are having. We are currently looking into whether or not we are covered by the dealership we purchased it from, since it doesn't look like Nissan will cover it since it's passed the warranty set by them.

2017 Nissan Sentra. Car has been taken care of since bought brand new. Oil changes every 3000, to 4000 miles transmission fluid change at 40,000 now the car is surging on highway. We can’t go over 40 mph on 65 mph highway. My be son and wife are in car and we have to pull over on side of highway with vehicles like tractor trailers pass us at 70 mph. The car has been inspected multiple times by Nissan dealership. They said there isn’t anything wrong. No lights in dash on at all.

Dec 12, 2023

The CVT seems to shudder uncontrollably when accelerating from zero and also when driving at 60mph on the interstate. The RPMs fluctuate erratically and spontaneously when traveling at 60mph or higher. Yes, the car can be inspected upon request-it does the shuddering every time it accelerates from zero. My safety and the passengers safety is at risk if the car were to stop functioning while driving on interstate. Yes, the problem has been reproduced by a local service center. No, the problem has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative. Would like to have the car inspected by the above if it were at no cost to me since it's a Nissan CVT issue. No, warning lamps or messages are on the dash. Problems began to appear in 2021.

Sep 18, 2023

Was driving and I stopped at a stop sign. When it was time to go I stepped to accelerate and it wouldn’t accelerate like it needed to almost causing the car behind me to crash into me. I took it to 3 different shops and they all said the same thing. The year and make all had transmission issues because they were no good and there is a law suit pending now.

Sep 11, 2023

The CVT has failed in my car causing multiple issues with jerking, shaking, stuttering. When i was making a left turn, my car hesitated and almost caused an accident because I didnt have the power to pull out when I should have. Now the repair is being quoted over $5k because they are saying I need an all new transmission. No warning lamps, messages have been indicated on my dash

Jul 25, 2023

The car refuses to shift from park to drive or even reverse. Mechanic can’t figure out why. And I never got the recall information for the car that had a lawsuit against it.

Jul 6, 2023

CVT transmission failed while driving at highway speed. Mechanic states Nissan CVT are under recall. Warranty will not cover this failure. Happened at 60k miles. Indicator light came on as CVT began slipping. Car went into "limp" mode.

The contact's girlfriend owns a 2017 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle jerked, shuddered, and hesitated to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle jerked and shuddered while coming to a complete stop. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing hard shifts while driving in the lower gears. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed due to the brake light switch failure. The contacted stated that the brake light switch was previously replaced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V135000 (Exterior Lighting). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

The car just started jerking forward on its own when driving. When I turn it off, and then on, it jerks when changing from park to drive or reverse gear. I then decided to take it back to the dealer. Driving from my house to the dealer took me an hour yet it's a distance of 15 Min. The engine light came on and I am not sure that car will be ok. The dealership said the transmission is the issue and they are talking to Nissan. Prior to that, the car had no issues. I've never ben that scared in my life.

Jan 10, 2023

on acceleration to 60 mph or more noted moments of jerky/hesitation as if shifting gears- evaluation by dealership x2- they noted the same thing....could not fix the problem was told to bring back once engine light comes on or sensor code is generated in their computer system which checks the transmission. Awareness that this is a transmission problem. a month later car fails to increase speed to 50mph going up a small incline...driving over a mountainous pass.....then as got to a straightaway it had to shift down to 20-30 mph due to weather conditions and traffic- then the RPM keep wavering would not be steady at this lower mph....then within 10 miles of this....intown at stop lights RPM would acelerate at complete stop and then it didn't want to move- was able to get up to 10 mph yet could not get through the intersection without the traffic light turning red before I could make it through happen multiple times...once it did this I had to drive with my hazard lights on to warn other drivers......such a safety hazard... let it sit for 2 days then. I was able to drive it 25 miles with the RPM constantly wavering between 1.5 and 3 with the cruise set at 60mph....check engine light came .....towed 100 miles. Now at the car dealer/manufacturer for replacement of the CVT Transmission ....this could have been avoided if 1 month earlier the CVT could have been replaced....5 year old car with less than 100k......it is an automatic car

Jan 5, 2023

Transmission stalled out when I was on the Rt 30 bypass. I was traveling at 55 miles per hour in rush hour and the car suddenly would not go forward. Causing sudden traffic issues. This is a known problem with 2017 sentras. Exton Nissan sold me this vehicle knowing it's unsafe. I've trying to get in touch with them for a month about this. I'm seeking for them to buy back this unsafe and dangerous car

Jan 3, 2023

My 16 year old son was stopped at a stop light. When the light turned green, he pressed on the gas but the car would not accelerate. It did start accelerating but would not go over 5 mph and was shaking and knocking. The Check Engine light then came out so he immediately pulled over. He was driving by himself at night. Thankfully it was on a side street without a whole lot of traffic. Had this happened in heavy traffic or on the highway then it could have had serious consequences. This happened without any warning and my 16 year old son was NOT safe. I do not feel safe in this vehicle anymore and I do not feel safe allowing my son to drive it either. The repair shop advised that it is the transmission. Nissans should not be having transmission problems just after 5 years and 100,000 miles. Come to find out this is a common problem with 2017 Nissan Sentras. This should be recalled and fixed by Nissan!!!

Dec 14, 2022

My nissan keeps slipping when I try to accelerate. I noticed everyone is having the same problem there needs to be a recall some people don't have money for a new transmission. The dealerships have to take care of this issue and I need a car to get back and forth. I bought this car brand new in 2017. I need this issue addressed

Oct 24, 2022

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while at a complete stop with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle rolled forward unintendedly. The contact stated that upon releasing the brake pedal and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle responded after shifting into park(P) and then shifting back into drive(D) several times; however, the vehicle would not exceed 5-10 MPH. The contact stated that upon shifting into park and shifting back into drive several times, the vehicle accelerated as needed. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a transmission specialist who diagnosed that the transmission range sensor switch and the transmission control module (TCM) had failed. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer who provided the same diagnostic information. The dealer replaced the transmission range sensor switch. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The contact was awaiting a callback from the manufacturer. The contact stated that the vehicle had a transmission warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

After only 6 months of having my vehicle, my transmission has gone out. My vehicle lost acceleration in the middle of an intersection while I had both of my children in the car. Nissan refuses to replace the transmission because all warranties had already expired when I begin financing the vehicle. I am stuck with a balance of over $13,000 and cannot drive the car. There was a class action law suit for this in the recent years which means many customers have had issues. Nissan is aware of this being a problem and they are not offering help. This transmission needs to be recalled. Nissan needs to replace my transmission and I cannot pay for something that they knew is a problem and will affect me. The vehicle was inspected by the manufacturer themselves and they confirmed it was the transmission.

Sep 6, 2022

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked on an inclined surface, the transmission shifter was difficult to shift out of the park(P). The contact stated that there was a loud clunking sound when the gear shifter was shifted out of the park(P). In addition, while operating the vehicle, the transmission malfunctioned and the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The RPM would raise however, the vehicle would not respond. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who reprogrammed the transmission control module however, the failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 45,000.

While traveling at highway speeds, the rpm’s would rapidly jump. As of the vehicle was confused at what gear it should be in. This would cause unsteady driving and also made it feel like the transmission was about to fail. This has happened multiple times. While using and not using cruise control. I have video evidence of it happening on another occasion.

I was with my kids and pregnant fiancé heading to a carnival and I was driving on the highway just fine and got off at my exit. I was a stop sign trying to cross a busy intersection and when I tried to proceed my car wouldn’t go anywhere; my RPMs were climbing but my car wouldn’t get over 20mins causing us to almost get hit. The speed on that street was 45MPH. I have been made aware that CVT transmissions have been a issue especially in Nissans. I took my car to be serviced at Bommarito Nissan dealer and it turned out to be my transmission. My car hasn’t had any issues and has been well maintained these last 4years and this has cost me $5100 a month before my wedding.

Apr 8, 2022

My car would not accelerate or go forward, stalling, shaking and jerking then completely stop in the middle of traffic in NC . I got side swipe and almost rear ended. I received a card in the mail about this bad CVT transmission but now I’m being told it’s too late to do anything. I expect Nissan to stand behind their product!!! I’m not going to keep making payments on a car I can’t drive and I’m sure not able to afford getting it fix myself nor should I have to. [XXX] Thank for help in solving this problem! The transmission has been having problems since 2019 with shift delays and shuttering or jumping that pulses and surges. I’ve taken it to Nissan several times prior to warranty going out but they say they have not been able to reproduce it. Now that the warranty is expired they have been able to reproduce all of my complaints related to the transmission at $6000 price tag.

After long drive, at highway speeds, transmission starts oscillating between 1k-3k revs and car starts losing power and speed. Can be dangerous as it forces you to drive at slower speeds on highway. Nissan dealership inspected multiple times and said that this is normal for the CVT transmission in these cars. Multiple forums online describe a similar issue with this car. Issue was not fixed even though it is under warranty.

Oct 23, 2021

On Friday October 22, 2021at about 320pm I was driving between the Ca central valley to the San Fernando Valley area over the grapevine. My vehicle began to surge with the rpm's reeving with little to none forward thrust. There were no warning lights, messages, alerts that illuminated. The vehicle seemed to be stuck in a high gear since driving at freeways speeds didn't appear have any issues, however getting up to freeway speed was something else. When I got to my destination in Agoura Hills, I was not able to drive up hill in any forward gear. I will have the vehicle looked at by a certified mechanic or a local dealership. I am aware that there are some Nissan Sentra models have had the same issue and recalls have been made, in reading the cvt recall information I believe my 2017 Sentra has experienced the same issues of the known recall. A search of my VIN only shows the light switch recall.

DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION FAILED TO MOVE FORWARD IN DRIVE. THIS HAPPENED AFTER STOPING AT A GAS STATION. I REVERSED THE VEHICLE TO PULL OUT OF THE SPOT AND SWITCHED TO DRIVE. THATS WHEN THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE FORWARD. CHECKED THE VEHICLE REVERSE, AND THE REVERSE CONTINUE TO WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE HOUSE AND THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALER WAS CONTACTED REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR INFORMED ME THAT THAT ISSUE WAS WELL KNOW AND THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM WAS TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACE AT A COST OF ABOUT $3,750. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 79,258 MILES ONLY. AS OF RIGHT NOW THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE.

When trying to accelerate to high speed on freeway, transmission acts up. RPM goes up and down like crazy. Significant lag in acceleration while in motion trying to advance higher speeds. 80 MPH or higher vehicle shakes.

I WAS DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THE CAR WOULD JUST SLOW DOWN OUT OF NOWHERE ON THE HIGHWAY. I COULDN'T GET THE CAR PAST 80 OR IT WOULD SHAKE. IF I STOPPED THE CAR OR EVEN SLOWED DOWN, (ANYWHERE, STREET OR HIGHWAY) THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE AT ALL. I WOULD BE PUSHING THE PEDAL ON THE FLOOR FOR 10 MINUTES JUST TO GET IT TO 5MPH. IF I WOULD GO UP A SMALL INCLINE, THE CAR WOULD ROLL BACK AND BARELY STOP ( ALMOST RESULTING IN SEVERAL POTENTIALLY FATAL COLLISIONS). AT TIMES MY REVERSE WOULDN'T EVEN WORK IF I COULDN'T PRESS THE GAS AND IF IT DID WORK THEN I COULDN'T DRIVE FROWARD. IT WOULD TAKE ME ALMOST 30 MINUTES TO GET HOME FROM WORK AND MY JOB IS EXACTLY 10 MINUTES IN A STRAIGHT LINE FROM MY HOUSE (ON THE STREET. NO HIGHWAY). IF THAT GIVES ANY PERSPECTIVE. ONCE THE CAR WAS PARKED IT WAS FINE. ALL THE PROBLEMS OCCURRED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION.

THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND STARTER ARE GREAT AND THAT THESE THINGS WERE NOT THE REASON WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS REMAINED ON. THE CAR IS ONLY 3YRS 11MNTHS OLD. I GET THE STANDARD OIL CHANGE BUT NISSAN HAS DISCONTINUED TO USE CONVENTIONAL OIL. WHICH IS THE RECOMMENDED OIL FOR MY CAR. I ALSO GET THE CAR SERVICED AS NEEDED. I HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE, AND THE MOST PROBLEMATIC ONE IS THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN I ACCELERATE TO HIGH SPEED ON HIGHWAY AT A POINT THE TRANSMISSION STARTS TO ACT UP. THE RPM START TO GO UP AND DOWN CRAZY. AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE AND I COULD OF HAD HARDCORE ACCIDENTS THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY, BUT RANDOMLY. THERE ARE NO CHECK LIGHTS ON OR ANYTHING, SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE DRIVE NORMAL AND AT TIMES IT DOES NOT. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY NEVER HAD THE TIME TO FIX MY VEHICLE UNTIL I SAID ENOUGH I NEED THIS DONE ASAP. WELL IT TOOK THEM 5 DAYS TO TELL ME IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND GIVEN CODE IS DTC: P17F4. I WAS LOOKING INTO IT AND DID SEE THERE ARE CURRENT RECALLS FOR SOME SENTRA BUT MINE IS NOT ONE I GUESS MAYBE IT IS THE MODEL I DONT KNOW.

01/25/2019 NORTH OF INDIANAPOLIS, IN TRAVELING SOUTH ON I-65, THE CAR APPEARED TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AT 70 MPH. STOPPED ON THE INSIDE LANE, SHUT OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED AND SEEMED TO BE OKAY. GOT JUST SOUTH OF INDY AND STOPPED FOR GAS, MADE IT OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND THE CAR WOULDN'T GO FOWARD BUT WOULD GO IN REVERSE. HAD TO BACK UP THE ENTRANCE RAMP TO I-65 TO AVOID BEING HIT BY SEMI'S COMING DOWN THE RAMP.CALLED NISSAN EMERGENCY ROADSIDE SERVICE AND THEY HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALER (HUBLER NISSAN) THEY TOLD US THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT I TOOK THE CAR TO M'LADY NISSAN ON 02/02/2018 TO COMPLAIN ABOUT ERRATIC SHIFTING, THEY FOUND NO PROBLEMS. ON 06/11/2019 I AGAIN TOOK THE CAR TO M'LADY NISSAN TO COMPLAIN ABOUT RPM'S JUMPING AS THE CAR ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT AND NOT WANTING TO SHIFT AT ALL GOING FOWARD ON A FLAT SURFACE ROAD. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR A WEEK AND SAID THE FOUND NO PROBLEMS. AT THE TIME THE TRANS WENT OUT, THE CAR ONLY HAD 3,548 MILES ON IT. FOR THE SECOND COMPLAINT AFTER THE NEW TRANS WAS PUT IN THE CAR ONLY HAD 4201 MILES ON IT. WE NOW ONLY USE THE CAR FOR LOCAL TRIPS AS WE ARE AFRAID TO TAKE IT OUT ON THE ROAD AND THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUES TO ACT ERRATICALLY. NISSAN WON'T DO ANYTHING FOR US AND M'LADY NISSAN (WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR) DOESN'T OR WON;T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. THEY DID TELL US IF THE TRANS GOES OUT AGAIN WE MIGHT GET SOMETHING DONE UNDER THE LEMON LAW

BOUGHT 2017 NISSAN SENTRA BRAND NEW FROM DEALERSHIP AND WAS VERY UNFAIRLY OVERCHARGED. I WAS CHARGED $23,014.53 FOR A CAR THAT WAS ONLY WORTH $16,000 AND HAS SO MANY ISSUES. GAS TANK SOMETIMES WILL STOP AT 200 MILES AND WILL NOT FILL UP, SPEEDOMETER SHOOTS UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING, SPEED DOES NOT STAY AT A CERTAIN SPEED AND SLOWS DOWN AUTOMATICALLY. THE ENGINE JERKS AND SPUTTERS WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAYS AND STREETS.

TAKATA RECALL . I HAVE A COMPLAINT ON THE CVT TRANSMISSION. MY TRANSMISSION WAS SERVICED BACK IN OCTOBER, NOT EVEN A YEAR AGO AND IT BEGIN ACTING UP AGAIN BACK IN AUGUST WHILE DRIVING AND I'VE SEEN THE LAWSUITS AND RECALLS ON IT. AND NISSAN WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO STAY UNDER THE WARRANTY OR EXTEND IT. SO I DONT MIND PULLING IN THE LEMON LAW FIRM.

SINCE MY SECOND OIL CHANGE (VEHICLE IS UNDER 15000 MILES CURRENTLY) THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL RANDOMLY COME ON AND THEN GO AWAY. IT WOULD NOT ALARM ME, BUT I AM HEARING THE SHIFTING OF THE POWER TRAIN NOW MORE OFTEN THAN BEFORE. A CLICKING AS IT SHIFTS UP AND DOWN. THE ENGINE IS A CVT, BUT FROM WHAT OTHER MECHANICS HAVE TOLD ME, THIS IS NOT HOW IT SHOULD SOUND AND SHOULD NOT BE HOW IT PERFORMS.

WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE ON AT 70MPH. RPMS STARTED JUMPING AND LOST POWER. TOOK TO NISSAN HAD IT CHECKED SND ITS A CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 99,798MILES ON CAR. CONTACTED NISSAN USA ABOUT IT AND WITH A 8 DAY REPLY GOT THAT ITS NOT COVERWD UNDER WARRENTY FOR A KNOWN DEFECT DUE TO THEY ONLY COVER 5/60000 MILES NOT 10YRS/120,000 MILES ON THAT VEHICLE. CAR LESS THAN 1 1/2 YRS OLD. SO WHEN I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP LIKE NISSAN USA TOLD ME TO DO SO THEY WOULD KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH IT FOR SURE. THEY TELL ME THEY WONT FIX IT. SO COST ME $130 TK HAVE IT CHECKED. AND ANOTHER $270 FOR A LOANER CAR WHILE DEALERSHIP HAD MY CAR. AND TO GET CAR FIXED IT WILL COST ME $4000. I KNOW I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST A NISSAN LEMON TO ANYONE, AND WILL NEVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN SINCE I STILL OWE $18,000+ ON A CAR I CANT DRIVE DO TO NISSAN KNOWING THE CVT TRANSMISSION ARE MESSED UP

CAR IS DANGEROUSLY SLOW TO ACCELERATE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MERGE ONTO A FREEWAY OR A BUSY STREET. EVEN WITH FLOORING THE ACCELERATOR, VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE PAST 40MPH FOR ABOUT 5-8 SECONDS, WHICH IN DRIVING, IS A LARGE AMOUNT OF TIME, ESPECIALLY MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY.
