The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while driving 10-15 MPH, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the roadway. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank was empty. The contact refueled the vehicle and the vehicle restarted. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving even though the fuel gauge displayed that there was a quarter tank of fuel remaining. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V074000 (Fuel System, Other). The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. I HAVE A NISSAN NORTH AMERICA RECALL LETTER ADDRESSED TO ME FOR RECAL 06V-459, WHICH IS A AIRBAG LIGHT AND WIRING HARNESS RECALL ON MY DRIVERS SIDE. I WAS CHARGED FULL PRICE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR AT RIVERHEAD NISAAN IN NEW YORK AND LATER FOUND MY RECALL NOTICE AND HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND NO QUALITY ASSISTANCE. MY RECALL LETTER SAYS I AM ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENTS AND TO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AND SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. I AM DOING SO BECAUSE NISSAN IS NOT HELPING ME. RIVERHEAD NISSAN HAS MY REPAIR IN THEIR SYSTEM. ATTACHED ARE PHOTOS OF THE RECALL OF IMPORTANCE. FILED WAS CLAIMED JAN 2021 WITH NISSAN NORTH AMERICA. REPAIR HAPPENED COUPLE YEARS AGO.

THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT READ CORRECTLY BELOW APPROXIMATELY A QUARTER TANK. IT OCCASIONALLY WILL STICK AND FLUCTUATE BUT ALWAYS AROUND A QUARTER TANK AND BELOW. THE FIRST TIME I REALIZED THE PROBLEM I HAD TO HAVE MY TRUCK TOWED HOME, THINKING IT WAS SOMETHING MAJOR WHEN ALL I DID WAS RUN OUT OF GAS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SEAT BELTS AND AIR BAGS FAILED TO OPERATE PROPERLY. WHEN THE CONTACT FASTENED THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT TO THE HARNESS, THE MESSAGE "SEAT BELT, AIR BAGS" IMMEDIATELY FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK FAILED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. UPON FILLING THE FUEL TANK HALFWAY, FUEL SPILLED ONTO THE GROUND. IT TOOK THE CONTACT APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES OR MORE TO FILL THE FUEL TANK HALFWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A RECALL LETTER WAS RECEIVED FOR THE FUEL TANK; HOWEVER, A VIN SEARCH SHOWED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBERS: 28501379 AND 32622188. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO PROVIDED THE OPTION OF A VEHICLE TRADE-IN. I WAS LOOKING ON THIS WEBSITE AND SEEN 6 RECALLS FOR THE 2005 NISSAN TITAN WHICH I HAVE AND AND NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE WIRE HARNESS ON THE DRIVERSIDE REAR DOOR. WELL ALL THOSE WIRES ARE BROKEN OFF NO MUSIC FROM THE REAR SPEAKERS ON EITHER SIDE. I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WERE I TRY TO ACCELERATE AND THE TRUCK BARELY WANTS TO MOVE AND SOMETIMES TAKES LONG TO FINALLY START. WHEN YOUR IDLING IT SOUNDS AS IF IT'S GOING TO BREAK DOWN. WHEN THE A.C. IS ON IT MAKES A VERY LOUD ANNOYING SOUND. DRIVING DOWN A BUSY ROAD ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND VEHICLE SPUTTERS AS IF OUT OF FUEL UNTIL IT DIED. COULD NOT GET TRUCK TO CRANK AND WAS CLEARLY A LACK OF FUEL. FUEL GAUGE READ 1/4 TANK FULL EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN CAMPAIGN 10V074000. FORTUNATRLY A POLICE OFFICER ASSISTED IN PUSHING MY TRUCK INTO A PARKING LOT. I CALLED A FAMILY MEMBER TO DRIVE UP WITH A GAS CONTAINER TO PUT A FEW GALLONS IN. SURE ENOUGH, CRANKED RIGHT UP. THE FOLLOWING DAY, I CONTACTED NISSAN OF USA, MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CAMPAIGN AND BECAUSE OF THE AGE AND MILEAGE OF MY TRUCK I WOULD NOT RECEIVE ASSISTANCE IN THE REPAIR OF THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND DETERMINED THAT THE AIR BAG WIRING HARNESS ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. NISSAN PREVIOUSLY ISSUED A RECALL DEALING WITH THE WIRING HARNESS ISSUE, #06V459000 TO REROUTE AND CHANGE THE WIRING COVER. THIS AFFECTS THE AIRBAGS AND THE OPERATION OF THE SEAT BELTS, AS WELL AS THE AUDIO SYSTEM. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING AND THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR SPEAKER DOESN'T WORK. THE RECALL WAS JUST A TEMPORARY COVER UP OF THE PROBLEM. THE ISSUE CAME UP AGAIN AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT, WANTING TO CHARGE UPWARDS OF $1000 TO REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESSS, A PROBLEM THEY ARE ALREADY AWARE OF. THE RECALL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, ONLY A TEMPORARY COVER-UP.

WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, MY ENGINE STALLED. I LOST ALL ENGINE POWER TO MY TRUCK, WITH NO ERROR CODES, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I HAD TO PLACE MY TRUCK IN NEUTRAL WHILE AT SPEED IN TRAFFIC IN THE LEFT LANE AND COAST TO A SAFE LOCATION ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER. DURING THIS TIME, I HAD NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. AFTER I SAFELY STOPPED ON THE SHOULDER, I TRIED TO RESTART MY ENGINE. MY ENGINE WOULD NOT START. APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, MY TRUCK HAD INTERMITTENTLY STALLED WHILE STOPPED, WITH AN ERROR CODE THAT POINTED TO AN INEFFECTIVE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAD MY MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR REPLACED, MY ECM RELAY REPLACED, AND MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED, AT A COST OF ~ $5000 TOTAL. I AM NOW TOLD THE INTELLIGENT POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE IS LIKELY THE CULPRIT FOR ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS, WHICH WILL COST ME ANOTHER $700 TO REPLACE. IN RESEARCHING PREVIOUS RECALLS, THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL FOR THE ECM RELAY, BUT NOT THE IPDM MODULE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE TRUCK STALLED AND LOST ALL POWER. AFTER GETTING TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY, THE TRUCK STILL HAD BATTERY POWER AND WANTED TO CRANK TO START BUT ACTED LIKE IT WASN'T GETTING GAS. AFTER CALLING AROUND WE DETERMINED THRU A NISSAN SERVICE ADVISOR THAT WE SHOULD TRY FILLING THE TANK WITH GAS, EVEN THOUGH I WAS TELLING HIM IT READ BETWEEN A QUARTER AND HALF A TANK. AFTER PUTTING IN 5 GALLONS AND TURNING THE KEY AND CRANKING IT A FEW SECONDS, IT STARTED RIGHT UP. IT HAS DONE THIS AT VARIOUS TIMES SINCE THIS FIRST OCCURRENCE AND CONTINUES TO VARY. I NOW HAVE TO KEEP NO LESS THAN HALF A TANK OF GAS AT ALL TIMES OR I WILL SUDDENLY LOSE POWER AND HAVE TO PULL OFF. NISSAN HAS A VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 2005-2009 ARMADA AND TITAN FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY, CAMPAIGN ID#R1010 & NHTSA#10V-074, BUT SAY THAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VIN. I HAVE TRIED REPEATEDLY TO ASK NISSAN HOW THIS SAFETY CAMPAIGN DOES NOT AFFECT MY VEHICLE IF IT TOO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM, AS I'VE BEEN TOLD ITS THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WHICH IS WHAT THIS RECALL CAMPAIGN COVERS. *TR

NISSAN REPLACED THE ECU RELAY AND FRONT FAN THEY INSTALLED A JUMPER FUSE INTO THE IPDM AND NOW VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING NOW THE VEHICLE WONT EVEN TURN OVER. THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED NOW CHARGED WHEN I TURN THE IGNITION I GET ZERO RESPONSE FROM THE STARTER AS IF THE IPDM WAS BLOWN. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE (RECALL 06V-459) FROM NISSAN APPROXIMATELY 4 YEARS AGO REGARDING THE WIRING HARNESS BEING DEFECTIVE. THE ORIGINAL NOTICE DID NOT MENTION THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE SERVICE ONLY IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON OR FLASHING (WHICH IT WAS NOT). I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECALL (AT KELLY NISSAN OF LYNNFIELD MA), NOT KNOWING THIS AND THEY SIMPLY TAPED THE WIRING HARNESSES AFTER INSPECTION AND RECORDED THE RECALL SERVICED ON THE NISSAN TITAN AND MOST LIKELY CHARGED NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA FOR PARTS AND LABOR FOR A HARNESS REPLACEMENT. AT 65,000 MILES I STARTED TO GET THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD FLASHING CONSTANTLY. I RESEARCHED THE FLASHING CODE FROM THE SENSOR AND IT TURNS OUT TO BE RELATED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE WIRING HARNESS. AS RECENTLY AS 2 WEEKS AGO I RECEIVED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA WHICH CLEARLY STATED THIS TIME " IF THE RED AIRBAG WARNING LAMP IS ILLUMINATED - PLEASE CONTACT YOUR DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY FOR REPAIRS" , AFTER SCHEDULING ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE SAME DEALERSHIP THAT DID THE ORIGINAL RECALL AND BRINGING THE VEHICLE IN THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE AND THE WAS NO OTHER ACTION THAT COULD BE PERFORMED WITHOUT A CHARGE TO ME. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AS I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT IF A VEHICLE HAS A RECALL AND PARTS ARE REPLACED THAT THE SAME FAILURE WILL OCCUR WITH THE REPLACED PARTS, HENCE MY CONCLUSION THAT THE ACTUAL WORK WAS NEVER PERFORMED ONLY RECORDED AS SUCH AGAINST THE VEHICLES (VIN). TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND TOLD THEM THAT MY MANUAL SHIFTER WAS INTERMITTENT. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. BUT WHEN I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS NOT WORKING. IT FINALLY STOP WORKING AT ALL. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND A BROKEN GROUND WIRE. THE COST OF THE PART 413.00 LABOR 375.00. I DID NOT GET IT REPAIRED BECAUSE OF THE COST. I WENT ONLINE AND RESEARCHED IT AND FOUND IT FOR 253.00 AND PUTTING IT IN WOULD BE EASY FOR MYSELF. AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS ON RESEARCH ON HOW TO INSTALL THIS, I CAME ACROSS SEVERAL SECTIONS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. COME TO FIND OUT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. MY 2005 NISSAN TITAN IS EXHIBITING THE FAILURES AS OUTLINED IN NISSAN NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 06V459000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM / WIRING HARNESS) AND NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM / FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM). AFTER REPORTING MY ISSUES TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, I WAS TOLD MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN EITHER RECALL CAMPAIGN. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS FINALLY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER AND TOLD ME TO HAVE MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER DIAGNOSE THE TRUCK AND PROVIDE THE WRITTEN DIAGNOSIS AND COST ESTIMATE TO A NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS SPECIALIST. AFTER PAYING $85 FOR A DIAGNOSIS, THE LOCAL DEALER CONFIRMED IN A WRITTEN DIAGNOSIS AND ESTIMATE, THAT MY TRUCK WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURES THAT THE 2 RECALLS CITE AND THAT MY TRUCK NEEDED THE SAME REMEDIES AS OUTLINED IN THE RECALLS. AFTER PROVIDING THIS INFORMATION TO THE NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS SPECIALIST, NISSAN DECLINED TO COVER MY REPAIRS STATING THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED, I DID NOT HAVE A COMPLETE HISTORY OF NISSAN SERVICING MY VEHICLE AND THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE THE LIMITED WARRANTY TERM. I KNEW MY TRUCK WAS OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY TERM, MY TRUCK NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN, WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WARRANTY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE PROBLEM CODE READ AND THEY SAID I HAD FAULTY BANK 1 AND BANK 2 CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. THE DEALER SAID THE STALLING WAS DUE TO A RECALL, NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V517000. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH MY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS UNTIL THIS RECALL ISSUE. WE HAD TO PAY $1,300.00 TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED NOT INCLUDING ONE NIGHT HOTEL STAY AND RENTING A CAR BACK HOME BECAUSE THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR A FEW DAYS AND HAVING TO DRIVE BACK UP TO PICK UP THE TRUCK WITH THE TRAVEL TRAILER AND BRING THEM ALL BACK HOME. THE DISTANCE IS 156 MILES FROM WHERE IT BROKE DOWN TO WHERE WE LIVE. I BELIEVE THERE'S A DESIGN FLAW THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, SERVICE MANAGER IN WILKES BARRE ACKNOWLEDGED SEVERAL OTHER TITANS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WHEN THERE IS AN EXHAUST LEAK AS WELL AS OUR LOCAL NISSAN SERVICE MANAGER ACKNOWLEDGED THE SAME. NISSAN SHOULD HAVE PROTECTED THE WIRING IN THE EXHAUST AREA WITH HEAT SHIELD OF SOME SORT. EXHAUST LEAKS OVER TIME, IT'S THE NATURE OF THE EXHAUST BUT IT SHOULD NOT REQUIRE CUSTOMERS TO PAY $1,300.00 TO GET THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REPAIRED. TL*-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH FELL OUT OF PLACE ON THE STEERING COLUMN SO SHE WOULD HAVE TO PUT IT BACK IN ORDER TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HINGE THAT HELD THE SWITCH IN PLACE WAS MISSING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000.

NISSAN IPDM (INTELLIGENT POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE) WHICH HOUSES THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WILL INADVERTENTLY SHUT OFF POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME FROM A PARKED VEHICLE AND HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THERE IS NO TIMED SEQUENCE AS TO WHEN THIS HAPPENS, BUT WHEN IT DOES YOU LOSE POWER TO THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY. I OWN A 2005 NISSAN TITAN KING CAB, WHICH I PURCHASED IT IN NOVEMBER OF 2005. AFTER, APPROXIMATELY 30DAYS OF OWNERSHIP AND 500 MILES OF TRAVEL; THE FRONT BRAKES BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE COMPLICATIONS (THEY WOULD SHUDDER WHILE BRAKING AND CREATE AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF BRAKE DUST.) I QUICKLY RETURN TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT, FOR SERVICING. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP REPAIRED THE ROTORS. DURING THE SUMMER OF 2006, I BEGAN TO NOTICE A MUSTY ODOR EMITTING FROM THE FLOOR AND CARPETING OF THE PASSENGER SIDE. DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND REQUESTED THE MECHANIC TO INSPECT THE TRUCK FOR THE CAUSE OF THE ODOR. THEY COULDN'T LOCATE THE SOURCE OF THE ODOR. I RETURNED THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM ON SEVERAL OTHER OCCASIONS, DURING THE SUMMER OF 2007 ODOR REAPPEARED; THEY REPLACED THE RUBBER GASKET AROUND DOOR WINDOWS IN HOPES OF RESOLVING THE ISSUE. MEANWHILE THE FRONT BRAKES ROTORS WERE REPLACED AGAIN AND THE GAUGES (FUEL, OIL, TACH ,VOLTMETER) ACTING ERRATICALLY. THE DEALERSHIP REPAIRED THE BRAKES UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY & PRORATED MY PURCHASE OF A NEW NISSAN AUTO BATTERY; ACCORDING TO SERVICE DEPT. THIS WAS THE CAUSE OF THE GAUGES MALFUNCTION. THEN AGAIN IN2008, I WAS TOLD THE BRAKES WERE NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT THE MUSTY ODOR WAS CAUSED BY WATER COMING INTO THE CABIN VIA A SMALL VOID IN THE WINDOW SEALANT AROUND THE "FACTORY INSTALLED WINDSHIELD' UPON HEARING THIS, I CHOSE TO TAKE MY TRUCK TO ANOTHER MECHANIC DUE TO NISSAN MECHANIC INABILITY TO RESOLVE THE BRAKE ISSUE & LOCATE THE SOURCE OF THE WATER. THIS YEAR 2009, THE REAR END WAS REPAIRED DUE THE SEALS LEAKING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND PREVENTIVE REPLACEMENT ON THE PASSENGER SEALS. HOWEVER, A FEW OLD ISSUES ALONG WITH NEW ONES THAT STILL EXIST. MY NEW MECHANIC TOLD ME THE SOURCE OF THE WATER & ODOR ISSUE IS THE A/C CONDENSER LEAKING INTO THE CABIN, THE BLINKING AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT WAS DUE TO A HARNESS NEEDING REPLACING IN THE REAR DOORS. *TR

COLUMN SHIFTER CAUSES DAMAGE TO WIRING HARNESS OF THE MANUAL MODE TRANSMISSION BUTTON. WHEN SHIFTING VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, COLUMN HITS WIRING HARNESS, AND OVER TIME CAUSES WIRING TO THE TRANSMISSION MANUAL MODE BUTTON TO BREAK. ONCE THIS BREAKS, THERE IS NO MEANS TO DOWN SHIFT VEHICLE, CAUSING A HAZARD ESPECIALLY WHEN TRAVELING ROADS WHERE THERE ARE ELEVATION CHANGES. WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE MANUAL MODE BUTTON FAILURE BY RESEARCHING NISSAN TITAN FORUMS (CLUB TITAN AND TITAN TALK). UPON REMOVING STEERING COLUMN SHROUD IMMEDIATELY NOTICED CHAFFING OF THE WIRING HARNESS, AND THE BROKEN WIRE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL FAILED REPEATEDLY. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE ELECTRICAL FAILURES 38 TIMES. THE OVER DRIVE WHICH IS ELECTRICALLY BOLTED BEHIND THE TRANSMISSION UNIT FAILED TO ENGAGE AND AS A CONSEQUENCE THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR. A TECHNICIAN FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS WHICH HAS NOT SUFFICIENTLY REMEDIED THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAS EXCEEDED ITS WARRANTY AND THE CONTACT WOULD BE LIABLE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE HIM WITH ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SMOKE AND FIRE APPEARED UNDER THE DASH WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF, BUT THE KEYS WERE STILL IN THE IGNITION. HER HUSBAND REACHED IN THROUGH THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW BECAUSE THE DOOR WOULD OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. ONCE THE DOOR WAS OPENED, HE USED SAND TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE FIRE WAS CONTAINED TO UNDER THE DASHBOARD. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF ANY SIMILAR FIRE COMPLAINTS WITH THAT YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE BCM THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FIRE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS SENDING AN INVESTIGATIVE TEAM TO THE DEALER TO CONFIRM THE FINDINGS. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AND NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. CLAYTON COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT ENGINE 8B RESPONDED TO A POSSIBLE VEHICLE FIRE. WHEN ENGINE 8B ARRIVED AND INVESTIGATED THE SITUATION THEY DISCOVERED THE FIRE WAS OUT. THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT BY OCCUPANT WITH A WATER HOSE. THE OCCUPANT ADVISED HE WAS IN HIS GARAGE AND LOOKED OUT AND SAW SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE IN HIS DRIVEWAY. THE OCCUPANT ADVISED THE DRIVERS SEAT WAS ON FIRE AND THE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE SEAT WHERE THE POWER SEAT CONTROLS ARE. THE OCCUPANT ALSO ADVISED HE HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THE FIRE.
