Engine stalled while driving then would crank but not start
My truck just stopped in the middle of the road while driving. I could not move the steering wheel and the engine would not turn over. The gas hand was registering a quarter of a tank of fuel so I did not think that I had run out of gas. After being towed to the shop the mechanic checked the vehicle and said that it was just out of gas but the gas gauge was still registering 1/4 of a tank of gas. Gas was put in the truck and it started right up. The mechanic informed me of a recall on the 2005 nissan titans that matched what was happening to my truck. When I informed nissan they told me there is a recall but that my vin number is not included in the recall. I have had the same incident where the truck just shut off 2 more times now and this should be covered by the nissan recall since this is the exact problem that is happening to my truck that is stated in the recall and my truck is the exact year. Can someone please help me to get nissan to honor this recall for my truck? Recall ID#68290
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE INACCURATELY DISPLAYS THAT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS SOME FUEL, AT ONE QUARTER TANK, WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS ACTUALLY EMPTY. THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF GAS AND STALL ON THE HIGHWAY, WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS BUT WAS TOLD THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT AFFECTED EVEN THOUGH IT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
THE FEEL GAUGE DOES NOT SHOW ACCURATE GASOLINE LEVELS. IT DOES THIS REGARDLESS OF SPEED OR WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AS IF YOU WERE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS AND RAN OUT OF GAS YOU COULD CAUSE A CRASH. THE FUEL GAUGE CAN SHOW YOU HAVE HALF A TANK BUT YOU ONLY ACTUALLY HAVE A QUARTER OF A TANK. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS FOR ANOTHER MODEL BUT NOT FOR MINE.

THEIR IS A CURRENT RECALL ON THE FUEL SYSTEM FOR THE GAUGE READING INCORRECTLY AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. MY TRUCK IS HAVING THAT ISSUE, BUT MY VIN SHOWS NOT TO BE UNDER THAT RECALL. I AM ALSO HAVING ENGINE PROBLEMS THAT I ALSO BELIEVE TO BE DUE TO A FAILING FUEL PUMP OR POSSIBLY ONE OF THE OTHER MANY PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE PERFORMANCE ON THIS MODEL TITAN. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE RECALL FOR THE FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM IS NOT COVERING MY VEHICLE , I HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH MY NISSAN TITAN SINCE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND ABSOLUTELY NO HELP FROM NISSAN TO FIX FAULTY PARTS, INCLUDING THE VALVE COVER THAT IF CLOGGED WILL ALLOW ENGINE OIL DOWN INTO THE VALVES AND CYLINDER AND CAUSE SMOKING PROBLEM, AND EVENTUALLY RUIN THE ENGINE CYLINDER. MY TITAN WILL NOT TAKE FUEL AND STARTS STALING OUT AT 2000 RPM CAUSING ME TO ALMOST BE IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS ALREADY. ALL VEHICLES WITH PARTS THAT ARE BEING RECALLED SHOULD BE INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. NISSAN SHOULD'NT BE ABLE TO PIC AND CHOOSE WHO GETS COVERED, THEY SHOULD MAN UP AND FIX THEIR CHEAP PARTS WHEN THEY FAIL.

I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND STOPPED FOR A RED TRAFFIC SIGNAL TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN ONTO A HIGHWAY. WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING. I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE. I WAS BLOCKING THE LANE OF TRAFFIC TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AS IT WOULD NOT START AND IT WAS A TRAFFIC HAZARD/BLOCKING TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THE VEHICLE'S GAS TANK WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY, DESPITE THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWING THE GAS TANK JUST OVER 1/4 TANK FULL. THE MECHANIC FOUND A RECALL NOTICE, NHTSA RECALL BULLETIN #10V074000 FOR MY VEHICLE, 2005 NISSAN TITAN, DESCRIBING THE EXACT DEFECT THAT MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED; "THE FUEL GAUGE MAY INACCURATELY DISPLAY THAT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS SOME FUEL, TYPICALLY ABOUT 1/4 TANK, WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY." I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL DUE TO THE VIN, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME YEAR/MAKE/MODEL, 2005 NISSAN TITAN, AND HAS THE EXACT SAME DEFECT AS THE ONE DESCRIBED IN THE ABOVE MENTIONED NHTSA RECALL BULLETIN. HAD I ENTERED THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING, I MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE CRASHED. SEE THE ATTACHED DIAGNOSTIC REPAIR INVOICE, NHTSA RECALL BULLETIN #10V074000, AND NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN. I BELIEVE THAT MY VEHICLE IS OR SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE EXISTING NHTSA RECALL AND NISSAN SHOULD COMPLY WITH THE RECALL AND REPAIR THE DEFECT AT NO COST TO ME.

I PURCHASED A USED 2005 NISSAN TITAN WITH ALMOST 117,000 MILES ON IT. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS 14 YEARS IT WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND WELL MAINTAINED. I SEARCHED THE NISSAN WEBSITE FOR ANY POSSIBLE RECALLS BECAUSE ANOTHER TITAN I HAD LOOKED AT HAD SEVERAL RECALLS. THE SEARCH SHOWED NO RECALLS FOR MY VIN NUMBER. THEN I CALLED THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TO VERIFY THE INFORMATION. AFTER 2 SHORT TRIPS I NOTICED IT DID NOT USE ENOUGH GASOLINE TO MOVE THE GAUGE FROM SLIGHTLY OVER A QUARTER OF A TANK. ON THE THIRD TRIP THE ENGINE QUIT ON A RURAL PAVED ROAD, FORTUNATELY THERE WAS A LARGE GRASSY AREA I COULD COAST TO. I KNEW SOME TITANS HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWING AROUND A QUARTER OF A TANK WHEN THEY WERE EMPTY. FORTUNATELY AGAIN I WAS ONLY 2 MILES FROM HOME WHERE I HAD A GAS CAN WITH GAS IN IT AND MY WIFE WAS AT HOME TO BRING IT TO ME. AFTER FILLING ALL 5 GALLONS INTO THE TANK, THE TRUCK CRANKED UP AND DROVE WITH NO PROBLEMS. I IMMEDIATELY REFUELED AT THE NEXT FUEL STATION WHERE IT TOOK ANOTHER 23 GALLONS TO FILL UP, 28 GALLONS TOTAL, THAT IS THE ENTIRE CAPACITY OF THE FUEL TANK. I FEEL THAT NISSAN PUT MY AND MY FAMILIES LIFE AT RISK BY NOT ACKNOWLEDGING A WIDER PROBLEM AND EXPANDING THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT RECALL. FUEL LEVEL IS A SAFETY CONCERN RIGHT AFTER BRAKES, STEERING AND TIRES, NOT TO BE OVERLOOKED. THIS SITUATION COULD HAVE ENDED IN TRAGEDY, MANY PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR LIFE BECAUSE THEY RAN OUT OF GASOLINE AND IT PUT THEM IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION. EVEN THOUGH THE ENGINE SHUTTING OFF IS NOT A DANGER IN ITSELF, LIKE WITH AN AIRPLANE, IT'S WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE VEHICLE STOPS AND THE OTHER TRAFFIC IS STILL MOVING THAT RESULTS IN TRAGEDY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILL SEIDLES NISSAN (10500 NW 12TH ST, MIAMI, FL 33172) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 37522490. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A RECALL ON 2005 THRU 2016 NISSAN TITANS FOR A FALTY GAS GAUGE BUT WAS TOLD THAT MY MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED, I HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS WITH MY GAUGE SHOWING A 1/4 TANK OF FUEL UP TO ALMOST A 1/2 ON MY GAUGE BUT STILL RAN OUT OF FUEL, I TOOK MY TRUCK TO KEY WEST, FL. AND THE FUEL PUMP WENT OUT AND IT COST ME OVER $700 TO HAVE IT REPLACED. NOW MY GAS GAUGE IS OFF EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE
MY 2005 NISSAN TORNADOES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OKLAHOMA TURNPIKE AND INTERSTATE I-44 CAUSING ONE OF THE LANES TO BE TEMPORARILY CLOSED. AFTER WARRINGTON A TOW TRUCK AND BEING TOWED TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALERSHIP, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE ONLY ISSUE WAS THE FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT REGISTERING THE CORRECT LEVEL OF GAS IN THE VEHICLE. ALTHOUGH THE GAUGE READ 3\8 OF A TANK REMAINING, THERE WAS NO FUEL IN THE TRUCK. THE NISSAN MECHANICS SAID THIS WAS A RECALL ON THIS YEAR TITAN, BUT ONCE HE CHECKED THE VIN, MY VEHICLE WAS NOT LISTED AS PART OF THE RECALL. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE CAN DIE AT ANY TIME IN ANY CONDITIONS CAUSING LANE CLOSURES OR WRECKS DUE TO THE SUDDEN FUEL ISSUE WITH NO WARNING. IF NISSAN HAS RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE ON THE 2005 TITAN, AND THIS ISSUE IS AFFECTING A 2005 TITAN, I BELIEVE WITHOUT DOUBT THEY HAVE MISTAKENLY OMITTED CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS. IF THIS ISSUE ULTIMATELY CAUSES INJURY OR IN THE WORST SCENARIO, A FATALITY DUE TO THEIR VEHICLE DYING IN THE MIDDLE OF A TRAFFIC SITUATION, NISSAN SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY CITY STREET, MY 2005 NISSAN TITAN SHUT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY, CAUSING ME TO BE STALLED IN THE LANE OF TRAVEL. I WANTED TO TRY THE MOST SIMPLE THING FIRST SO I HAD MY SON BRING A FUEL CAN TO ME TO SEE IF THE TANK WAS EMPTY. THIS ENDED UP BEING THE CASE AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND I STOPPED AT THE FIRST FUEL STATION AND FILLED THE TANK UP. THE GAUGE WENT TO FULL AFTER REFUELING. I RESET MY TRIP ODOMETER AFTER REFUELING TO WATCH THE MILEAGE IN CASE THE GAUGE MALFUNCTIONED AGAIN AND IT DID. THE GAUGE WILL NOT MOVE BELOW 1/4 TANK. NISSAN ISSUED RECALL #10V074000 ON 3-3-2010 FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. THE RECALL COVERS THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WHICH CAUSES THE FUEL GAUGE TO INACCURATELY DISPLAY REMAINING FUEL. I CONTACTED NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261 AND THE PHONE REP LOOKED UP MY VIN AND TOLD ME THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. MY TITAN IS WITHIN THE VEHICLE YEAR RANGE (2005-2009) THE RECALL COVERS AND IS PRESENTING WITH THIS EXACT ISSUE.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY NISSAN TITAN 2005 STARTED SHAKING WHILE DRIVING ON A MODERN TRAFFIC. I SUDDENLY STARTED LOSING CONTROL OF THE TRUCK AND THANK GOD I MANAGE EXIT THE FREEWAY WITH THE SPEED I MANAGE TO CONTROL. I PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT AND TRIED TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. MY TRUCK DIDN'T WANT TO TURN ON AND I HAD 1/4 OF GAS LEFT SO IT WAS IMPOSIBLE I NEEDED GAS AFTER TRYING DIFFERENT METHODS, I WALKED TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION, BOUGHT A GALLON OF GAS WITH ITS PROPER FUEL CONTAINER AND ADDED TO MY TRUCK THEN IT TURN ON. I CONTACTED MY NEAREST NISSAN DEALER AND THEY FIXED 2 RECALLS THAT MY TRUCK ALREADY HAD BUT THEY DIDN'T WANT TO FIX MY MAIN PROBLEM WHICH IS THE FUEL PUMP. AND I READ MANY NISSAN TITAN 2005 ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM, I FOUND THE RECALL NUMBER (10V074000) WHICH THE DEALER I ATTENDED DIDN'T WANT TO FIX IT. IT'S BEEN A BAD EXPERIENCE BECAUSE I COULD OF CRASH AND IT COULDN'T GONE WORSE DUE TO MY GAS NOT BEEN CORRECTLY PLUS I MISSED WORK AND IT'S JUST PUTTING STRESS ON ME I NEED THIS FIX THANK YOU

THAT RECALL IS FOR 2005 NISSAN TITANS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THEY HOWEVER DENY THE CLAIM BECAUSE IT DOESN'T INCLUDE MY VIN NUMBER. I FEEL THAT THIS VIN NUMBER SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL AS WELL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT A RECALL LETTER WAS RECEIVED FOR THE FUEL TANK; HOWEVER, A VIN SEARCH SHOWED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBERS: 28501379 AND 32622188. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO PROVIDED THE OPTION OF A VEHICLE TRADE-IN. THE AAA DRIVER ADDED $2 WORTH OF GAS TO THE TANK BUT IT DID NOT START. I WAS TOWED TO A AAA APPROVED SHOP ABOUT 2 MILES AWAY AND WHEN THE SHOP OWNER WENT TO TAKE THE TRUCK OFF THE TOW BED IT STARTED RIGHT UP. ON FEBRUARY 25, 2017 MY SON WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND HIS 2005 NISSAN TITAN TRUCK COMPLETELY DIED, LOST ALL POWER STEERING, BRAKES, EVERYTHING. MY SON WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK OFF THE BUSY ROAD WITHOUT GETTING REAR ENDED, WHICH WAS HARD TO DO FOR A 20 YEAR OLD. ONCE WE HAD THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED, WE WERE TOLD IT WAS A FAULTY FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT. THE VEHICLE SHOWED OVER 1/4 OF A TANK OF GAS, BUT IN FACT, IT WAS EMPTY. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND OTHER 2005 NISSAN TITAN'S WERE RECALLED WITH THIS SAME ISSUE, HOWEVER, NISSAN TOLD ME, THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. THIS CONCERNS ME BECAUSE MY SON COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED FROM THE TRUCK DYING AS HE WAS GOING 50 MPH DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE TRIED TO SPEAK WITH NISSAN, ASKING THEM TO LOOK INTO MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE, SINCE THERE IS A PAST HISTORY OF THIS PART FAILING ON OTHER TITANS. AFTER 3 PHONE CALLS, ALL THEY WILL TELL ME IS, IT ISN'T THEIR FAULT, THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND RECALL DOESN'T INVOLVE MY VIN. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TO SEVERAL SHOPS AND SEVERAL PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ACCORDING TO THE ECM SERVICE ENGINE CODES. NOTHING HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM. TOOK THE TRUCK TO NISSAN DEALER FOR HELP. THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM AND SAID THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ANY SUCH PROBLEM AND COULD NOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS THEY DROVE THE TRUCK AND HAD THE PROBLEM HAPPEN WHILE THEY WERE DRIVING. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO QUIT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND AT THIS POINT NEITHER DOES NISSAN. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING, BY DOWN SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL, WHICH FAILED. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO FIND A FIND A SPOT TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE BUSY HIGHWAY AND CALL FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT I HAD RUN OUT OF FUEL, DESPITE THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWING WELL OVER 1/4 OF A TANK OF USABLE FUEL. AT THIS POINT I DISCOVERED A RECALL CAMPAIGN FOR THE 2005 - 2009 NISSAN TITAN INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V074000) AND PROCEEDED TO CALL THE PHONE NUMBER LISTED IN THE REMEDY PORTION OF THE RECALL. WHEN SPEAKING WITH NISSAN IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MY VIN WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN, AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS MADE AT THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP BY NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO CONFIRM MY FINDING AND SEE IF THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR FOR ME UNDER THE RECALL. IT WAS ULTIMATELY DETERMINED THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO RECOVER WARRANTY MONEY FROM NISSAN, AND INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD NEED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. BOTTOM LINE, IT CAME DOWN TO A MONETARY ISSUE NOT A SAFETY FACTOR ISSUE FOR NISSAN. IT WAS OBVIOUS MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES AS THE OTHER 2005 NISSAN TITAN VIN'S IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. AFTER PUTTING IN 5 GALLONS AND TURNING THE KEY AND CRANKING IT A FEW SECONDS, IT STARTED RIGHT UP. IT HAS DONE THIS AT VARIOUS TIMES SINCE THIS FIRST OCCURRENCE AND CONTINUES TO VARY. I NOW HAVE TO KEEP NO LESS THAN HALF A TANK OF GAS AT ALL TIMES OR I WILL SUDDENLY LOSE POWER AND HAVE TO PULL OFF. NISSAN HAS A VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 2005-2009 ARMADA AND TITAN FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY, CAMPAIGN ID#R1010 & NHTSA#10V-074, BUT SAY THAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VIN. HE TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK AFTER A COMPLETE CHECK. THEY CALLED BACK AND TOLD ME THAT MY TRUCK NEEDED A FUEL SENDER UNIT AND A FUEL RING, I TOLD THEM TO GO AHEAD AND REPAIR IT. ON TUESDAY I WENT AND PICKED UP MY TRUCK AND THEY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT MY FUEL LEVELING SENSOR SHORTED OUT. I PAID A TOTAL OF 515.88 PLUS 65.00 FOR TOWING ON SOMETHING THAT HAD A RECALL ON IT. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY KNEW IT WAS UNDER RECALL OR NOT BUT I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT IF I PAID FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I HAD TO GET OUT AND PUSH THE TRUCK TO A PARKING LOT. I THEN WALKED TWO MILES TO GET 2 GALLONS OF GAS, FORCED TO LEAVE MY FAMILY WITH THE STRANDED TRUCK(MY WIFE CAN'T WALK THAT FAR RIGHT NOW). I RETURNED, PUT THE 2 GALLONS IN THE TANK AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I CALLED THE DEALER, WHICH GAVE ME A LOUSY EXCUSE AS TO WHY THOUSANDS OF THESE TRUCKS WERE RECALLED BECAUSE OF THIS SAME ISSUE, EXCEPT MINE. THEY OFFERED TO GIVE ME A GREAT DEAL. 600 DOLLARS FOR THE REPAIR WHEN THE PART COSTS $77. THEN JUST LAST WEEK THE TRUCK RAN OUT OF GAS, THIS TIME ON THE FREEWAY, NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WITH A SEMI TRUCK, WHILE SHOWING ALMOST 1/2 TANK. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THOUSANDS OF TITAN OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND NOT BEING COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I CONTACTED THE BAR AND AFTER THEIR INVESTIGATION, THE DEALER DISCLOSED THAT ALL TITANS WERE MADE WITH THE DEFECTIVE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, AND THAT THE DEALER WAS REPLACING THESE PARTS EVERY DAY, NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. TO SUM IT UP, I SPENT GOOD MONEY FOR A TRUCK THAT I THOUGHT WOULD BE A SAFE VEHICLE FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY, WHICH IT IS NOT. I'M VERY SERIOUS I WAS ALMOST KILLED WHEN IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY. I HAVE OWNED A LOT OF VEHICLES, AND HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD OF SUCH A SAFETY ISSUE THAT ISN'T ADDRESSED BY RECALLS. BASICALLY THIS TRUCK IS A DEATH TRAP, IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL SOMETHING TRAGIC HAPPENS, ALL BECAUSE NISSAN WILL NOT OWN UP TO THEIR FAULTY PARTS. AFTER PAYING $85 FOR A DIAGNOSIS, THE LOCAL DEALER CONFIRMED IN A WRITTEN DIAGNOSIS AND ESTIMATE, THAT MY TRUCK WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURES THAT THE 2 RECALLS CITE AND THAT MY TRUCK NEEDED THE SAME REMEDIES AS OUTLINED IN THE RECALLS. AFTER PROVIDING THIS INFORMATION TO THE NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS SPECIALIST, NISSAN DECLINED TO COVER MY REPAIRS STATING THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED, I DID NOT HAVE A COMPLETE HISTORY OF NISSAN SERVICING MY VEHICLE AND THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE THE LIMITED WARRANTY TERM. IT WAS A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE AND COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE HAD THE ROAD BEEN BUSIER OR I HADN'T PULLED OFF. I HAD TO WAIT FOR GAS ON A VERY BUSY ROAD WITH VERY LITTLE ROOM BETWEEN MY TRUCK AND OTHER TRAFFIC.
