So back in October 2023 ,I noticed a lot of things go wrong at once lime the radiator had to be replaced because it was leaking everywhere. The steering went bad and started leaking. The rear main seal started leaking. The clock spring went bad. there isntons of water always in the passenger floorboard and passenger door. The fuel gauge is all over the place and never reads right. The oil pressure gauge always has been on high. The engine light, air bag light slip light, and abs light have always been on. The right rear window stopped going up and the controls on the drivers door sometimes work and sometimes don't. The Manuel shifter has never worked and I cannot put the transmission in 2,3, or 4th gear from a stand still. Always been weird knocking sound in the suspension

Noticed electrical burning smell outside the previous day but could not find the source. In the morning found that the front, passenger door had caught fire and smoldered all night long burning to a crisp. Not sure the cause. The truck was last driven on Friday and sat all weekend until the problem was discovered Monday morning. The truck still runs and as far as I can tell everything except the speaker in the door is working and the passenger power seat which was also slightly burnt.

These units are being sold at various retailers and deceptively marketed. I purchased one with the warning label defaced. The listing stated it was a bStock item due to cosmetic damage otherwise fully functional. It was only after receiving it did I find the truth of the 2 NHTSA recalls in 2019. https://bigjeffaudio.com/products/open-box-ioxus-12v-group-31-smart-power-bluetooth-car-audio-ultra-capacitor After I brought it to their attention and a little convincing, did they add the disclaimer at the bottom of the listing. To be transparent I purchased the same item, through that specific vendor on eBay. I did capture the listing before they added the disclaimer. Ultimately they refunded the purchase and I sent the item back. The photos explicitly omit the "warning" that has large print ultracapacitor and small print, "follow this link to the the actual warning" Going further the manufacturer went as far as to post a video of an employee throwing the battery, showing that it is completely safe and instructs the viewer to hit up a distributor and go buy one now. It is one thing to inform the customer and quite another to sell to an unsuspecting person.

The contact's son owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while his son was driving approximately 35-45 MPH, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. The contact was unsure whether there were any warning lights illuminated. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle and continued to drive; however, the failure reoccurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to Pep Boys and diagnosed the failure as a vehicle dynamic control switch, acceleration, and power train systems failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the instrument cluster had failed. The dealer was not notified of the failures. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.

I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSFER CASE 2 TIMES, MY FRONT DRIVE SIDE HUB ASSEMBLY 2 TIMES IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. I HAVE REPLACE FRONT AXLE AND AND REAR. NOW MY PASSENGER SIDE LEAKS OUT FROM UNDER THE GLOVE BOX EVERY TIME IT RAINS INTO MY FLOOR KEEPING IT WET. JUST YESTERDAY MY TRANSMISSION WENT ITNO LIMP MODE AND I KNOW IT CAN BE A NUMBER OF THINGS . I LOOK AT THE 04 THRU 07 TITANS AND THEY HAVE A LOT OF ISSUES LIKE HAVE BUT HAVEN'T LISTED THEM ALL, BUT THE ISSUES IAM HAVING ARE NOT ON RECALL LIST FOR MY 2006, BUT ARE FOR THE OTHER YEARS??? THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP DROPPING $ INTO IT. BACK DRIVER WINDOW MOTOR STOPPED AND WINDOW FELL AND BROKE, MANIFOLD TICKING IS A RECALL FOR THE 2005, BUT NOT MY 2006. I COULD KEEP GOING BUT I AM GETTING SO FRUSTRATED. I WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 45 MHP WHEN IT JUST WENT INTO LIMP MODE, SO I PULLED OVER TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON THEN IT WOULD WORK FOR ABOUT 3 MIN. STOP DO IT AGAIN TO GET HOME. IT WILL GO INTO GEAR, AND THE RPM'S REV AND GO UP ,BUT I AM NOT GETTING VERY FAR AT ALL. MY TRANS FLUID IS GOOD. I HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. ALL FUSES ARE GOOD AND CODES RESET AND IT STILL GOES LIMP MODE.

VEHICLE WAS OFF, PARKED AND VACANT WHEN THE FIRE WAS VISIBLE, BUT ONLY FOR 10 MINUTES, SO IT MAY HAVE STARTED WHEN IT ON, AND WASN'T VISIBLE RIGHT AWAY.

MY VEHICLE IMPACTED ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THE REAR AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON. SEVERAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS; STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS STOPPED WORKING IN 2008, ABS LIGHT REMAINS ON, BACKUP SENSOR WENT OUT 11-17 AND MOST RECENTLY I STARTED MY VEHICLE ONE MORNING AND SPEAKERS STARTED POPPING REALLY LOUD AND IMMEDIATELY SMELLED OF BURNED WIRES AND JUST TWO DAYS LATER VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DRAINED. AFTER CHARGING WORKED FINE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS BUT JUST REPEATED THE SAME SITUATION. THIS VEHICLE HAS GAVE ME SO MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS STARTING A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE. ALSO NOTICED THAT ONE OF THE A FRAMES WELDED JOINTS IS CRACKED. I AM A CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTOR AND CAN SAY THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURER DISCONTINUITY. THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WENT OUT YEARS AFTER PURCHASE IN 2006. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE BECAUSE OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. I AM THE ONE AND ONLY OWNER AND PURCHASED IT NEW WITH ONLY 17 MILES ON IT. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD SO MANY ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL ISSUES THAT IM STARTING TO THINK I SHOULD APPLY UNDER LEMON LAW BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO THAT.

THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V459000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

RESEARCHED ISSUE ON LINE AND SEE THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR SNOW BELT STATES WHICH MAINE IS INCLUDED BUT NOT THE TITAN. CONTACTED NISSAN REGARDING ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER BECAUSE WE ARE OUTSIDE OF WARRANTEE? FIND IT ODD THAT SOME VEHICLES ARE BEING COVERED BUT NOT THIS ONE. PREVIOUSLY TO THE AIRBAG LIGHT ISSUE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE DOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY LOST ALL POWER. THANKFULLY NO VEHICLE BEHIND HIM. HE PULLED OVER INTO BREAKDOWN LANE TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE WOULDN'T START INITIALLY BUT AFTER 10 MINUTES DID START. NO CODES TO BE READ NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED TO THE AIRBAG ISSUE BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT SAFE TO HAVE YOUR VEHICLE ABRUPTLY SHUT DOWN AT 70 MPH.

ON 05/22/2015, TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT OR NEAR POSTED SPEED IN MILD SUNNY WEATHER. THE TRUCK JUST SHUT OFF IN LANE OF TRAFFIC. THERE WAS NO HESITATION, NOISE, ALARM, WARNING LIGHTS JUST SHUT DOWN. THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. PULLED VEHICLE OVER TO RH SHOULDER AND TRIED TO RESTART IT WITH OUT SUCCESS.ON 05/18/2015, I HAD THE TRUCK SERVICED AND INSPECTED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN ANTICIPATION OF THIS ROAD TRIP. THE TRUCK PASSED DEALER INSPECTION. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALER SERVICE CENTER AND AFTER SEVERAL DAYS THE DEALER TOLD ME THE ECM HAD FAILED AND SHORTED OUT THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE REPAIR BILL WAS A LITTLE OVER $1400. I AM NOT OBJECTING TO THE COST OF REPAIR....I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE TRUCK JUST STOPPING ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT WARNING. IF THIS BREAKDOWN WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OR DRIVING LANES OF A NEARBY FREEWAY, OR ON A STEEP INCLINE WITH TURNS THE RESULTS MAY HAVE BEEN VERY BAD. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE SHORT AND FAILURE OF THE ECM WERE A RESULT OF A LEAK IN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM (SAME ONE THAT PASSED INSPECTION) AND HEAT SHORTED THE WIRING HARNESS. SITTING OVERNIGHT WITH TEMPERATURE IN THE 40'S, WHEN PUTTING THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION INTO DRIVE,IT WOULD KEEP DROPPING OUT OF GEAR. THE TRUCK DROVE FINE WHEN MANUALLY SHIFTING THROUGH THE GEARS. PROBLEM CONTINUED FOR MOST OF A YEAR BUT DID NOT GENERATE AN ERROR CODE. FINALLY DEVELOPED AN ERROR CODE INDICATING PROBLEM IN FIRST GEAR OF THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY WITH TCM. THIS REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF VALVE BODY INTERNAL TO THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH HAD BEEN CONTAMINATED BY AN UNDETECTABLE RADIATOR TO TRANS COOLER LEAK ALSO REQUIRING THE RADIATOR TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM, FOR WHICH NISSAN HAS DONE NOTHING, OTHER THAN PUTTING A SPECIAL COATING ON BOLTS INTERNAL TO THE TRANSMISSION TO DETECT THE PRESENCE OF COOLANT. THIS PROBLEM CAN CAUSE COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION. IT COULD BE EASILY PREVENT BY THE INSTALLATION OF A SEPARATE TRANSMISSION COOLER. *TR

WHILE WAITING FOR MY WIFE TO COME OUT OF A STORE WITH TRUCK RUNNING I NOTICED A LIGHT FLICKERING IN THE STORE WINDOW. MY WIFE CAME OUT OF THE STORE AND GOT INTO THE TRUCK. WHILE BACKING OUT I NOTICED THE FLICKERING LIGHT IN THE WINDOW COMING WITH ME. WHEN I STOPPED THE TRUCK I NOTICED SMOKE COMING UP OVER MY HOOD THEN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK STARTED TO GET WARM. I NOTICED A BURNING SMELL AND TOLD MY WIFE THAT I THINK MY TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK, WENT TO THE FRONT AND SAW THE CONDENSER FAN MOTOR ON FIRE. I WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE WITH A CAN OF COKE THAT WAS ON THE GROUND. A LITTLE WHILE LATER IT FLAMED UP AGAIN AND HAD TO GET A BUCKET OF WATER FROM THE STORE CLERK. GOING HOME FROM WORK, WHILE DRIVING EVERY TIME I PUT THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL ON I NOTICED THE LIGHT AT THE DASHBOARD FLASHES SO WEIRD AND THEN DISAPPEAR. I MADE FIVE RIGHT TURNS THAT NIGHT ALL ACTING THE SAME THING. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE GARAGE AND HAD IT CHECKED THEY FOUND OUT THAT THE WIRING INSIDE THE LAMP ASSEMBLY WAS MELTED, THE WIRE WAS TIED WITH PLASTIC STRING WRAP SO TIGHT THAT MADE THE INSULATION OF THE WIRE MELTS AND CREATED A SHORT CIRCUIT. THE WHOLE INSIDE OF THE COMBINATION LAMP ASSEMBLY REAR, RH OF MY TRUCK WAS MELTED. THEY CUT THE PLASTIC STRING WRAP AND THEN PUT SOME ELECTRICAL TAPE ON THE WIRES, THEY HAVE A HARD TIME OF PUTTING THE LAMP ASSEMBLY BACK INTO THE TRUCK AND UNTIL NOW I DID NOT REPLACE THE RH REAR COMBINATION LAMP ASSEMBLY. *TR

TRAVELING IN HEAVY MORNING TRAFFIC AND THE VEHICLE SIMPLY QUIT IN THE MIDST OF HUNDREDS OF VEHICLES. IT WOULD NOT FULLY RESTART BUT WOULD ONLY ROUGH IDLE A TIME OR TWO. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE IPDM/ECM HAD FAILED. THE PARTS WERE REPLACED AND AS SOON AS I BEGAN LEAVE THE REPAIR FACILITY THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT ONE OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS HAD FAILED...DUE TO RAW FUEL BEING DUMPED INTO IT AS RESULT OF THE FAILURE OF THE IPDM/ECM. A FEW DAYS LATER, AS I WAS RESEARCHING CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ONLINE, I CAME ACROSS A NISSAN RECALL - NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 10V517000 AND REALIZED THAT THIS WAS THE EXACT SITUATION BUT THAT I HAD NOT RECEIVED NOTICE OF SAID RECALL. I CONTACTED NISSAN REGARDING THIS SITUATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIRS AND THEY ADVISED THAT I'D HAVE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ONE OF THEIR DEALERS FOR INSPECTION BEFORE THEY'D CONSIDER REIMBURSING. I DID SO AND THEY DID REIMBURSE FOR THE IPDM/ECM REPAIRS. HOWEVER, WHEN I ASKED ABOUT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE...WHICH WAS AN IMMEDIATE RESULT OF THE IPDM/ECM FAILURE, THE DEALER (AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS) INDICATED THAT I'D HAVE TO GET AN ESTIMATE & "RESTART" THE PROCESS. WHILE DOING SO, I LEARNED OF NUMEROUS EXAMPLES OF THIS VERY SAME THING HAPPENING WHEN IPDM/ECM FAILS & DUMPS RAW FUEL INTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. SO, I OBTAINED THE ESTIMATE FROM A NISSAN DEALER AND RECONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND BEGAN THE PROCESS AGAIN. IN THE MEANTIME, I DID LEARN THAT IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE WITH A DAMAGED CONVERTER AS IT CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO FAIL...THEREBY CAUSING A DANGEROUS SITUATION ON THE ROAD...FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS. NISSAN HAS NOW REFUSED TO PAY TO REPAIR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WHICH WAS DAMAGED BY THE FAILURE OF THEIR RECALLED PART...AND I AM WONDERING IF YOUR OFFICE CAN HELP ME IN THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION. *TR

I OWN A 4X4 LOADED 2006 TITAN LE WHICH IS MY PRIMARY FAMILY VEHICLE. AROUND 80K, ECM MODULE WENT OUT CAUSING CAR TO STALL OUT AND LOSE ALL POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC (WITH MY KIDS). LUCKY NOT TO BE NAILED BY AN ON-COMING CAR, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND MODULE WAS REPLACED DUE TO RECALL. ONE WEEK LATER WHILE VACATIONING IN THE MOUNTAINS THE BATTERY RANDOMLY FRIED, WE REPLACED IT. HOWEVER IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING, THE ANTI-THEFT ALARM WOULD RANDOMLY SOUND OFF, THE DVD PLAYER WOULDN'T WORK (HASN'T WORKED SINCE), THE SUNROOF WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND WOULDN'T OPEN AND CLOSE PROPERLY. ONCE WE RETURNED, THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG (EXCEPT THE DVD PLAYER, WHICH NO ONE COULD EXPLAIN). ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE FOUND THAT THE FIRST CATALYTIC CONVERTER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD BLOWN..FOLLOWED NOT LONG AFTER BY CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND THE DRIVERS SIDE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BAD..DEALERSHIP WANTS $3000 JUST FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS!!! I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPLACEMENT! THIS CLEARLY IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND NOT A ISOLATED CASE, NISSAN MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT HAD BEEN CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE FUEL FILTER OR BATTERY. AS A PRECAUTION THE CONTACT REPLACED BOTH PARTS. THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO REFERRED HIM TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 136,000.

NISSAN TITAN (36K MILES), 2006 MODEL. THE ABS CONTROL MODULE WENT BAD CAUSING THE CAR SPEEDOMETER TO QUIT WORKING AS WELL AS THE CARS TRANSMISSION TO JUMP INTO AND OUT OF GEAR WHILE ON THE ROAD. CAUSED THE CAR TO SLOW DRAMATICALLY ON THE INTERSTATE AND COULD CAUSE A CRASH. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO NISSAN AT RIVERGATE IN TN (THINKING THIS WAS BEING CAUSED BY THE CURRENT RECALL TIED TO THE EMC, ENGINE CONTROL MODULE) AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE ABS CONTROL MODULE AND IT WOULD COST $1,500 TO REPAIR, WHERE THE EMC COSTS $2 TO REPAIR. MAKES ME WONDER IF NISSAN CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED THEIR CURRENT ISSUE WITH THE CARS ELECTRONIC CONTROLS, OR MAYBE THAT THEY'VE CHOSEN TO TIE THE RECALL TO A CHEAP COMPONENT AND ALLOW THE DEALER TO THEN JIG THE CONSUMER FOR THE HIGHER PRICED COMPONENT. ON APRIL 16, 2007 THENISSAN TITAN' DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR CAUGHT ON FIRE. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE DOOR POCKET THAT COULD HAVE IGNITED, JUST A BOTTLE OF WATER, AND THE KEYS WERE OUT OF THE IGNITION. THE FIRE APPEARED TO HAVE STARTED AROUND THE SPEAKER AREA AND SPREAD TO THE REST OF THE DOOR PANEL. I GOT THE FIRE PUT OUT BEFORE IT SPREAD TO THE REST OF THE TRUCK, BUT THE REAR SEAT AND DOOR WERE DESTROYED. *AK

I DRIVE DAILY ON UNLIT ROADS, AND THIS PROBLEM FREQUENTLY OCCURS. MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN'S AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING CONTROLS RESPONSE TO CHANGE IS SLOW WITH HEADLIGHTS ON (10-15 SECONDS TO MOVE FROM FLOOR TO DEFROST), CAUSING A SAFETY PROBLEM WHEN NEEDING TO DEFROST AT NIGHT. NISSAN INDICATED THIS SAFETY PROBLEM IS THE RESULT OF POOR DESIGN FOR TITANS SINCE THE ENGINEERS CHOSE TO USE THE VARIABLE VOLTAGE FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHT RHEOSTAT TO POWER THE HVAC CONTROLS. THIS 15 SECOND DELAY CAUSES A SAFETY PROBLEM SINCE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT SINCE THE DRIVER MAY BE UNAWARE THAT THE WINDSHIELD IS FOGGED UNTIL ONCOMING TRAFFIC COMES INTO VIEW. WHEN SWITCHING BETWEEN MODES (IN THIS CASE, HEAT TO DEFROST), BY THE TIME AIR BEGINS TO BLOW OVER THE WINDSHIELD, THE TRUCK HAS TRAVELED 1100 FEET WITHOUT ME BEING ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD (AT 50 MPH). THIS HAS MADE ME RUN OFF THE ROAD, OR NEARLY RUN OFF THE ROAD, NUMEROUS TIMES (AT LEAST 10 THAT I REMEMBER). THE ONLY OTHER OPTION IS TO TURN THE INSTRUMENT PANELS TO FULL BRIGHT WHICH BLINDS ME DURING NIGHTTIME DRIVING (JUST AS UNACCEPTABLE AS A FOGGED WINDSHIELD). NISSAN CURRENTLY HAS NO REPAIR FOR THIS MALFUNCTION. *NM

THE VDC [VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL] KEPT SHUTTING OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE TO REGULATE MOTION AND SPEED OF THE 4 WHEELS. THE VDC WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON WITH THE VDC DASH BUTTON. THE DEALER STATED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BEARINGS HAD FAILED AND THE TITAN WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT'S BEEN AT THE DEALER WAITING FOR A NEW REAR DIFFERENTIAL FOR 2 WEEKS. THE TRUCK WAS NOT DELIVERED WITH THE POWER FOLDING - AUTO DIM EXTERIOR MIRRORS; THE XM RADIOS DID NOT WORK; BED EXTENDER NOT INSTALLED; GAS TANK WASN'T FULL AS PROMISED. *JB
