2009 NISSAN TITAN Air Bags Problems

I received a recall notice for my 2009 Nissan Titan. I have brought the truck to Premier Nissan, 6636 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA on multiple occasions to have the work performed without success. I last brought the truck in March 07, 2024, at which time I was told that the airbag emblem needed to be replaced. [XXX] . The part was supposed to be ordered and in within two weeks. I called Premier Nissan several times since March 07, 2024, without resolution. I called today, August 08, 2024, and was told that the dealership records did not even indicate that the part had been ordered. Additionally, to add further insult, I was told that the truck must again be brought in for another inspection despite the fact that it had been inspected and found defective on March 07, 2024. Additionally, the contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated, and the horn was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed. The dealer determined that the clockspring had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 285,000.

Air bags did not deploy with front end damage.

Our 2009 Nissan Titan was involved in a roll over accident and no air bags deployed. The driver side air bags did NOT deployed at all. My son ended up with a broken collarbone, fractured back rib and possibly humorous fracture on muscle injuries the accident. My insurance company has inspected the vehicle and has possession of it at a salvage yard. There were no indications that there was something wrong with the air bags or the air bag sensors.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND THE GAUGES FLUCTUATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDOWS OPERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.

I BOUGHT MY NISSAN VERSA 2009 IN HENDERSON NISSAN IN NEVADA. 9 MONTHS AFTER (11/23/2009) THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHTS WENT ON . I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER SHIP AND THEY FIX. NOW LAST FEB.09,2015 THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP WERE I BOUGHT MY CAR TO CHECK FOR THAT PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR NEED A NEW AIRBAG AND SPIRAL CABLE THAT WILL COST ME $1241. I ASK THEM WHY, THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR IT. THEY SAY BECAUSE I DONT HAVE ANY MORE WARRANTY. I SAID THIS IS ONE OF THE SAFETY FEATURE OF THE CAR. BUT STILL THEY INSIST ON THE WARRANTY. I ASKED THE GUY IF IT IS NOT FIX WHAT WILL HAPPEND, HE SAID THE AIG BAG WILL NOT INFLATE IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT. SO I CALL THE NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICE TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE BUT THEY SAY THEY CANNOT HELP ME. I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR THAT KIND OF AMOUNT. MY CAR IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD AND THE MILEAGE IS ONLY 56,147. WHY AM I HAVING THIS PROBLEM TO SOON. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, SHE ATTEMPTED TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A DOG AND LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TWO YEARS LATER, THE FAILURE OCCURRED A SECOND TIME WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH IN THE RAIN. THE VEHICLE BECAME AIRBORNE AND FLIPPED OVER, BUT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS AGAIN FILED AND NO MAJOR INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 45 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECREASE IN SPEED. THE VEHICLE SPEED DECREASED TO 25 MPH HOWEVER THE BRAKES WOULD NOT ENGAGE ANY FURTHER. THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO CRASH INTO THE REAR END OF A PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON IMPACT. THE CRASH WAS BEING INVESTIGATED BY HIS INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 25,000.
