TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 OLDSMOBILE AURORA. THE CONTACT STATED THE BRAKE DOES NOT ENGAGE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN OVER 30MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES. THE BRAKE SENSOR AND THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE BRAKE CONTINUES TO FAIL TO ENGAGE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED RECALL 00V114000 SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC: FOUNDATION COMPONENTS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 108.000. LI

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 OLDSMOBILE AURORA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED FOLLOWED BY AN ABNORMAL PULSATION, A WARNING CHIME AND THE ILLUMINATION OF THE SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM AND ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT OF A POTENTIAL RECALL FOR THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 00V114000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.

SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING THE CAR WILL ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. IF THE CAR IS PLACED IN NEUTRAL THE ENGINE REVS AND WHEN THE CAR IS PUT BACK INTO GEAR THE CAR LAUNCHES ITSELF AS THOUGH THE THROTTLE WAS PUSHED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THERE IS NO PATTERN TO IT. THE BRAKES WILL STOP THE CAR BUT THE STOPPING DISTANCE IS MUCH LONGER THEN WITHOUT THE ENGINE RACING. THE STEERING COLUMN MAKES A CLUNKING SOUND EVEN AFTER HAVING THE STEERING SHAFT REPLACED. THIS IS VERY NOTICEABLE AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHEN IT IS DAMP OUT. AT TIMES THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES DON'T FEEL LIKE THEY WORK. THE CAR HAS NEW BRAKES BUT IT DIDN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE. *TR

I KEEP GETTING A MESSAGE TO SERVICE MY STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM ON MY 2001 OLDS AURORA. HOFFMAN OLDS STATES THERE IS NO RECALL OUTSTANDING AND THE BRAKE MODULATOR UNIT WILL COST ABOUT 1000 TO REPLACE. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO AFFECT MY BRAKE PERFORMANCE, BUT THE WARNING KEEPS COMING BACK DAILY. I BELIEVE THE RECALL # IS 00V114000. I DO NOT HAVE THE VIN #, THE CAR IS AT THE DEALER. *TR
I HAVE OWNED 3 OLDSMOBILE AURORA'S. 1-1999 MODEL 2-2001 MODELS I NOTICED WITH ALL THREE CARS, THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOWS NOT PROPERLY OPERATING. THE WINDOW JUST FALLS DOWN ON IT'S OWN AND WON'T ROLL BACK UP. I HAVE TO WEDGE SOMETHING IN THE WINDOW IN ORDER TO KEEP IT UP AND THAT DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. I FOUND THIS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH ALL THREE AURORA'S. I KNOW OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAS THE SAME YEARS AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. ALSO, ON THIS 2001 AURORA I HAVE NOW, HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ANTI-BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM. I NOTICED A COUPLE MONTHS AGO, THAT I HAD TO COME TO A SUDDEN BREAK IN SNOWY WEATHER CONDITIONS, MY BRAKES DID NOT WORK PROPERLY AND MY ANTI-LOCK BRAKE AND TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS BEEN ON EVER SINCE. THE STABILITY SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON THE INFORMATION SYSTEM EVERYTIME THE CAR IS STARTED. *TR

MY CAR HAS BEEN A LEMON SINCE I BOUGHT IT AND IT WAS HAVING THE PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS WHICH IS RECALL ID #00V114000 - SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC: FOUNDATION COMPONENTS RECALL. I AM EXPERIENCING THESE SYMPTOMS AND TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME YEAR AS THE RECALL AND SAME SYMPTOMS. *JB
WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER AND APPLYING THE BRAKES THEY FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE BRAKES, BUT PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
WHEN CONSUMER BRAKED FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR, AND THE SECOND TIME THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED IT HAD MORE COMPRESSION. *JB
WHEN COMING TO A SUDDEN STOP OR PANIC STOP BRAKE PEDAL GOES HALF WAY TO FLOOR BEFORE VEHICLE WILL STOP. ABS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY.*AK

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ABS INDICATOR LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON TO INFORM CONSUMER THAT THESE TWO SYSTEMS WERE TURNED OFF. THIS OCCURRED DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER/ SNOW. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DUPLICATE CONDITION. THUS, NO REPAIR COULD BE PERFORMED. ON SECOND INCIDENT, WHEN T DEALERSHIP EXAMINED VEHICLE, MECHANICS CLEANED GROUNDS BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. CONSUMER HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICE FOR CURRENT RECALL ON ABS SYSTEM. *AK
