CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOW WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES AS IT TRAVELED DOWN A STEEP ROCK AND SHRUB COVERED EMBANKMENT. THE VEHICLE THEN COLLIDED WITH A LARGE BOULDER WHERE IT CAME TO REST ON ITS ROOF. CONSUMER STATES WHILE TRAVELING AT 40 MPH THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. CONSUMER LOST CONTROL AND HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. NLM CONSUMER STATES THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED THAT DAY. *SLC
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL LETTER 00V171000 IN DEC 2000. AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS TO DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HE WAS TOLD PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE YET. ON BEBRUARY 15, 2001 CONSUMER'S SON HAD AN ACCIDENT. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, STUNNED THE DRIVER, AND CAUSED VEHICLE TO VEER OFF THE ROAD AND HIT A TREE. THERE WERE NO BRAKE MARKS ON PAVEMENT. DRIVER WAS KILLED INSTANTLY, PASSENGER DIED 2 DAYS LATER. AS SOON AS VEHICLE WAS STARTED AIR BAG DEPLOYED INTO CONSUMER'S FACE, CAUSING SERIOUS EYES INJURIES. DEALER / MFR. WERE NOT CONTACTED AT THIS TIME. *AK
DRIVER WENT TO START VEHICLE, TURNED IGNITION, AND DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED, CAUSING INJURIES. NO WARNING INDICTATING THAT AIRBAG WAS DEFECTIVE. *AK
AIR BAG SENSOR WAS NOT ACTIVATED CAUSING NO DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG DURING SINGLE CAR ACCIDENT. NLM
AIR BAG FOUND TO BE FAULTY CAUSING THE AIR BAG LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE, SEVERAL MONTHS THE AIR BAG FALSELY DEPLOYED CAUSING SCRATCHES TO DRIVERS ARMS. NLM
AFTER AIR BAG WAS REPLACED DUE TO PREVIOUS ACCIDENT ONCE AGAIN THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY DURING A FRONTAL COLLISION. NLM
WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT A COLLISION OCCURRING, THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED. CAUSED BY FAULTY WIRING HARNESS. *AK *ML
