CONSUMER DISAPPOINTED IN HOW REPAIRS TO TRANSMISSION ON THE 1995 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS CIERRA WAS HANDLED.*MR THE GEARS IN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED, THE FIRST TIME ONE OF THE SMALLER SHOPS WANTED THE CONSUMER TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE IN THE SHOP FOR 5 DAYS AS COLLATERAL UNTIL THE PART ARRIVED AND PAY $1400.00 UP FRONT. THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. *BF THE GEAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR. *JB
I WAS DRIVING AND SOMETHING DROPPED UNDER MY HOOD CAUSING IT TO BE STUCK IN ONE GEAR. I BELIEVE MY TRANSMISSION IS MESSED UP. IT WON'T GO IN REVERSE ONLY FORWARD. *JB
THE VEHICLE BECAME STUCK IN FIRST GEAR, WHICH CAUSED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. *JB

CONSUMER STATES THAT AFTER STARTING VEHICLE IT WILL JERK OR HESITATE TO ACCELERATE. HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION TWICE. *MR
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE ABS SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED, FUSES ARE CONTINUOSLY BLOWING, SEVERAL ELECTRICAL WIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED IN THE SHIFT COLUMN, THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS CORRODED, THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES. ALSO THE LOW COOLANT LIGHT FLASHES INTERMITENTLY EVEN THOUGH THE RADIATOR AND TANK ARE FULL. HE ABS LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR AT LEAST A YEAR AND THE MECHANIC IS UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE. BRAKES ARE IN WORKING ORDER AND ALL SENSORS ARE GOOD. NOW I AM HAVING DIFFICULTY STARTING ON HOT DAYS, THE STARTER CLICKS BUT THE ENGINE WILL NOT START, AFTER SEVERAL TRIES IT WILL THEN START( ABOUT 5 TRIES), AND TODAY I SEEM TO BE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WHILE ENTERING AN INTERSECTION FROM A STOP SIGN I LOST POWER. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AT A TOP OF 2RPM'S AND COULD NOT GET OVER 10 MILES PER HOUR. THE MECHANIC STILL NEED TO GIVE A DIAGNOSIS ON THIS LATEST PROBLEM BUT SIAD IT MAY BE A CIRCUIT PROBLEM SINCE TOUCHING THE UNDERHOOD DRIVER SIDE CIRCUIT BOX CAUSED THE CAR TO STALL AND RESTART.
THE FAULTY PROGRAMMABLE READ-ONLY MEMORY, PROM, CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO HESITATE UPON INITAL ACCELERATION FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM LOW SPEED WITH A COLD ENGINE, THE OWNERS SON WROTE THIS COMPLAINT AND PURCHASED THE SERVICE BULLETIN AND NECESSARY PARTS FOR REPAIR AFTER SEVERAL REPAIR ATTEMPTS BY MECHANIC. NLM
I HAVE PURCHSED A 1995 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED IT I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A DEAL, THE CAR WAS VERY WELL MAINTAINED AND I GAVE A FAIRLY GOOD PRICE FOR IT. AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS OF DRIVING THIS VECHICLE I HAVE MAINTAINED IT NEW TIRES, OIL CHANGES, KEEPING IT IN THE VERY BEST CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT,NEW ROTORS, BRAKES, WINDSHIELD WIPERS,ETC. IT ALL STARTING WHEN I WOULD SLOW DOWN OR GO THE SPEED OF 15 MPH A VIBRATING STARTED LIKE IT WAS THE TIRES,SO I REPLACED THE TIRES AND ROTORS AND IT STILL DONE IT THEN NOW IT IS SLIPPING AT TAKE OUT SPEED TO 15 MPH IT MAKES A GRINDING NOISE AND ALMOST QUITS PULLING UNTIL IT KICKS INTO LIKE 3RD GEAR THEN AFTER THAT IT SHIFTS OUT PERFECT BUT WHILE DRIVING THERE IS A VERY LOUD ROARING SOUND LIKE COMING FROM THE BACK. *AK
ADVISED THAT TCC SCREEN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES BROKE, CAUSING TRANSMISSION FLUID IN TO ENGINE AND ENGINE FLUID INTO TRANSMISSION. *AK
HAVING THE REVERSE GEAR DROP OUT WHILE YOU GOING FORWARD AT 50MPH WAS VERY SCARY. WE WERE JUST LUCKY THAT WE DID NOT WRECK. WE CONTACTED THE OLDS DEALER IN ANDERSON SC TO SEE IF THEY WOULD HELP WITH REPAIRS. THIS WAS TO NO AVAIL. THE OLDS DEALER IN WALHALLA SAID THEY WOULD TRY TO HELP AFTER THE CAR WAS FIXED.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP/FAILED

DRIVING VEHICLE ABOUT 55MPH AND THE RPMS WENT UP TO 5 THEN THE SPEED STARTED DROPPING. HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN A LOW GEAR IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO MOVE. IF PUT THE GEAR IN THE DRIVE POSTION IT WOULDN'T MOVE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHCILE WILL COME OUT OF GEAR WITH HIGH RPM, DEALERS HAS REPLACED THE TRANMISSION SENSOR WHICH DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. PLEASE GIVE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
