TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1991 PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER LE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE FUEL RAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WHERE THEY DISCOVERED THE FUEL LEAK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TOO OLD FOR THEM TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THE FUEL RAILS WERE LEAKING. ALTHOUGH THE PROBLEM PERSISTED, THE FUEL RAILS WERE NOT REPLACED. THERE IS A NHTSA RECALL # 98V130000 REGARDING THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.*AK

MY 1991 PLYMOUTH GRAND VOYAGER HAS HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE EXHAUST SYSTEM, THE TRANSMISSION, PUT IN A NEW FUEL PUMP, A NEW RADIATOR, NOW IT FAILED AN EMISSIONS TEST AND I WAS SMELLING FUEL WHEN I WAS DRIVING ONLY TO FIND OUT MY FUEL RAIL IS LEAKING OR SHOULD I SAY SQUIRTING AS ONTO THE ENGINE, WHICH ALMOST RESULTED IN A FIRE HAD I HAD BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO CHECK IT OUT. NOW THE SHOP WHERE I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED SINCE IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE SAYS YOU CAN ONLY GET THE PART FROM A DEALER WHICH COSTS 319.00 AND THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE LABOR. *NM

ALSO, POWER LOCKS WENT ON AND OFF/SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO/GAS GAUGE READ TANK EMPTY WHILE IT WAS FULL, AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON AND OFF. *AK

FUEL RAILS FOR 3.3L ENGINES FOR CARS WERE RECALLED BUT NOT FOR THE VANS, WHEN IN FACT WE HAVE HAD 2 FUEL RAILS THAT HAD MAJOR LEAKS IN SPOTS THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO BE SEALED. I ALSO KNOW ATLEAST 3 OWNERS THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS PART AT ONE TIME WERE ON BACK ORDER BY 950 PARTS. MY VAN IS NOT OPERATIONAL AND I FEEL I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PURSHASE ANOTHER AND PAY THE LABOR TO HAVE IT REPLACED BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER WON'T TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEFECT. *AK
