AT LOW STOP AND GO SPEED THE MOTOR WILL RUN HOT AND LOOSE GEAR SHIFTING, YOU HAVE TO TURN OFF THE VAN AND RESTART THE VAN. I HAVE REPLACED THE RADIATOR, WATER PUMP,ALL SENSORES, TEMP.GAUGES,THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. COULD THE PROBLEM BE IN THE COMPUTER BOARD? WHEN YOU TURN OFF THE VAN AND RESTART THE VAN IT WILL SHIFT OK UNTIL YOU STOP AGAIN, AND DO IT ALL OVER. THIS HAS CAUSE PROBLEMS IN TRAFFIC. WOULD LIKE TO KNOW A CORRECTIVE ACTION FOR THIS. THIS IS MY SECOND MINIVAN NO TROUBLE WITH THE FRIST ONE.
THIS WILL BE OUR 6TH TRANSMISSION. REPLACEMENT ONLY THIS TIME CHRYSLER REFUSES TO PROVIDE A WARRANTY FOR REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION. *AK
WHILE DRIVING WITH OUT WARNING TRANSMISSION SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO COME OUT OF GEAR WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED A CRASH. PREVIOUSLY, TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. AT 20,000 MILES NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. *AK

THIS IS THE THIRD TRANS. FAILURE IN THE 102,700 MILES ON THE VEHICLE TRANS. #1 LASTED 42,000 MILES , TRANS. #2 LASTED 27,000 MILES AND TRANS. #3 LASTED 29,000 MILES I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. MY SERVICE HAS BEEN DONE ON THE REPLACEMENT OF EACH OF THESE TRANSMISSIONS AT WARREN CHRYSLER PLYMOUTH AND I HAVE PAID 1/2 THE BILL ON #2 & #3 AND CHRYSLER HAS PAID FOR THE OTHER 1/2 ON EACH. IT STILL COSTS ME APPROXIMATELY $800.00 TO $900.00 DOLLARS EACH TIME. MY SERVICE MANUAL SAYS TO HAVE THE FLUID AND THE FILTER CHANGED EVERY 30,000 MILES BUT I NEVER SEE 30,000 MILES BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION IS DESTROYED. I READ AN ARTICLE IN CONSUMER REPORT THAT SAID CHRYSLER CORP. KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAS NEVER ISSUED A RECALL, THEY JUST KEEP PAYING FOR 1/2 OF THE REPLACEMENT COST. I BELIEVE IT HAS NOW REACHED THE TIME FOR SOMEONE TO CHALLENGE CHRYSLER CORP. AND DEMAND THAT A RECALL BE ISSUED FOR THOSE VEHICLES STILL ON THE ROAD WHICH MAY FAIL AND CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN PROVIDE TO ME REGUARDING HOW MANY REPORTS YOU HAVE CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM OR WHO CAN BE CONTACTED AT CHRYSLER CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ON A DAILY BASES AND HOPE THAT THE PERSON INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IS NOT MYSELF OR MY SPOUCE. WE PURCHASED THIS VAN 3/98. IT WAS NOT DRIVEN FROM 5/19/98 UNTIL 10/15/98 DUE TO MY SURGERY EXCEPT FOR DRIVING IT TO THE NEW HOUSE (3 MILES AWAY) ABOUT 6 TIMES. I REALLY FEEL THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE SINCE THE TRANSMISSION WAS CHECKED OUT, AND IT WAS SAID TO BE FINE. *AK
CUSTOMER CHARGED $700.00 FOR WORK COVERED BY WARRANTY WHILE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY. TRANSMISSION WAS NOT PROPERLY FIXED OR DIAGNOSED IN 1997. CAR WAS SEEN BY DEALER 2 TIMES SINCE 1997 WITH SHIFTING PROBLEMS AND COMING OUT OF GEAR WHILE ENGAGED IN PARK. *AK
