THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 96V099000 (COMPONENT: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC: ANTILOCK) AND HAD REPAIRS PERFORMED BY THE DEALER. FOLLOWING REPAIRS, THE ANTI LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER ADVISED THE BRAKE ACTUATOR PISTON ASSEMBLY AND THE PUMP MOTOR ASSEMBLY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 138,000.

IN 2003, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIR WAS MADE UNDER WARRANTY AT THAT TIME. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 11,800.

THE DEALER WILL ONLY DO THE REPAIRS AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE BECAUSE THE BRAKES ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. *AK THE DUAL FUNCTION PRESSURE SWITCH REPAIRED THE POWER TO THE PUMP. POWER STEERING PROBLEMS, REPAIRWORK DONE IN MARCH, 95. ENGINE PROBLEMS OCCURRED, REPAIRWORK DONE TO ROCKER SHAFT/PUSH RODS AND OIL FILTER IN MARCH 95.
