DROVE THROUGH A PUDDLE. SERPENTINE BELT FELL OFF, CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING. COMPLETED REPAIR AS PER TSB 07-02-99. DID NOT CORRECT ISSUE. A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 1996 - 2000 PLYMOUTH/DODGE CARAVANS 3.3L AND 3.8L. VERY DANGEROUS, HAPPENS ON WET/SNOW CONDITIONS. BOTTOM THIRD OF HARMNIC BALANCER IS NOT GUARDED FROM ROAD MOISTURE. CHRYSLER REDESIGNED IN 2001. GATES AFTER MARKET KIT SOLVES PROBLEM GAT 38379K, COST $120-$220 WITH OUT LABOR. DOES THIS MEET THE CRITERIA FOR A RECALL? *TR

IT IS JUNE OF 2003 AND THE CAR IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP AGAIN FOR THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. IT HAS HAD A POWER STEERING PUMP FAILURE, SERPENTINE BELT FAILURE TIMES 5 AND NOW A COMPUTER PROBLEM. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSTLER CORP AT LEAST 5 TIMES REGARDING THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. THEIR ANSWER IS WELL, IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE CARE TRADE IT IN.

1998 PLYMOUTH VOYAGER LOSES SERPENTINE BELT ,OVER HEATS AND LOSES POWER STEERING WHENEVER IT RAINS. I HAD THE BELT TENSIONER REPLACED TWICE IT HAS NOT HELPED NOW VAN IS AT ANOTHER CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY SAY IT IS THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND PULLEY. THEY ARE CHARGING ME $400.00 DOLLARS TO DO THIS WORK AND I BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE ACKNOWLEDGED AND ADDRESSED.*JB

THE INTERIOR LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FAILED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DASH LIGHTS FLICKERED. OCCASIONALLY THE HORN WOULD FAIL. METAL FRAGMENT CUT THROUGH THE POWER STEERING AND CAUSED NOISE WHEN STEERING. THE DOOR HANDLE DIDN'T OPEN SMOOTHLY. THE DEALER REPLACED FRONT STRUTS AND REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS. ALSO, REPLACED LEAKING ENGINE VALVE COVER GASKET, ENGINE BELT AND TENSIONER. . *AK *NLM

THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DID NOT COME ON, THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS FLICKERED, THE DRIVER'S WINDOW STOPPED WORKING, AND THERE WAS A CRUNCHY NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN, IT WAS DETERMINED THE POWER STEERING LINES LEAKED, THE FRONT STRUTS AND SUSPENSION WERE REPLACED, AT TIMES THE HORN DID NOT WORK, AND LATER THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE CLOCK SPRING ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND BRAKES ARE APPLIED,VEHICLES' STEERING WHEEL WILL TIGHTEN, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STEER. THIS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. THE DEALERSHIP HAVE REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION 3 TIMES AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP ONCE, BUT PROBLEM STILL EXITS.*AK

TENSIONER FREEZES UP AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN ONE YEAR. EACH OF THE TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS CHARGED ME DIFFERENT AMOUNTS,ONE CHARGED 106.00 AND THE OTHER CHARGED 275.00. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS BY THE DEALER AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I WONDER WHY THEN IF IT IS SO DANGEROUS AND SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM IT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED.
