AM REPORTING FAILED ENGINE ON 1994 BONNEVILLE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. HAVE TALKED TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD RODS GO OUT ON THEIR ENGINES ALSO AND THOUGHT MAYBE SOMEONE OUGHT TO LOOK INTO MANUFACTURERS LIABILITY FOR PRODUCING INFERIOR MOTOR AND SELLING TO CONSUMERS. HAD CAR IN SHOP 3 OR 4 TIMES FOR A CLICKING SOUND AND THEY FOUND NOTHING UP UNTIL THIS LAST TIME. PLEASE HELP ON THIS MATTER IF YOU CAN. DON'T KNOW WHO ELSE TO CONTACT.*AK

HAVE HAD A COMPUTER CHIP AND FEUL PUMP REPLACED AND PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. WATER PUMP IS NOW GETTING VERY NOISY AND ALSO WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED NOW. WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, WE EXPRESSED CONCERN OVER THE TEMPERATURE SEEMED TO BE RISING AND THE CAR NOT OPERATING SMOOTHLY. REASSURED THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS TO BE FOUND.

CONSUMER PURCHASED VEHICLE ON FEB. 14, 2000 FROM USED CAR DEALER. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO FOUND OUT THAT ENGINE WAS MESSED UP BECAUSE THE RODS WERE SHOT, 3-7-2000 LESS THAN 30 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER. DEALER TOLD CONSUMER THAT IT WAS BOUGHT IN THE SHAPE IT WAS, AND IT WAS CONSUMERS PORBLEM. *AK

STARTING AT ABOUT 50,000 MILES, EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT, SPORADIC, ENGINE FAILURES WHILE UNDERWAY, AND WITHOUT WARNING. ENGINE CAN ALWAYS BE RESTARTED BY SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL WHILE UNDERWAY, OR TO PARK, WHEN STOPPED, AND TURNING IGNITION KEY. CAN CONTINUE PERHAPS A FEW TO MANY MILES WITH NO FURTHER INTERRUPTION. SERVICE TECHNICIANS CLAIM LIKELY IN ELECTRONIC IGNITION OR FUEL CONTROL SYSTEM, BUT A REPLACEMENT OF CRANKSHAFT SENSOR LASTED PERHAPS 5 TO 10,000 MILES WHEN SAME ENGINE FAILURE, WHILE MOVING AND IN TRAFFIC, HAPPENED AGAIN. SERVICE PEOPLE ADVISE CAN BE ANY ONE OF A NUMBER OF ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, BUT NO WAY OF KNOWING FOR SURE WHICH ONE. IS A HAZARD WHEN DRIVING, BUT WITH NO APPARENT KNOWN WAY OF REPAIRING.
