My power steering keep leaking making it hard to steer. Electric fuse keep blowing out,
FAILED COMPONENT SYSTEM: Driver & Passenger side Airbag system. SAFETY RISK: I was involved in motor vehicle collision, resulting in extensive front-end damage to my car. Upon impact, the driver and passenger side airbags did NOT deploy, which based on the extent of the damage to my vehicle they should have deployed. CONFIRMED REPORT: Yes, one component of the airbag system has already been reported to NHTSA for this make & model car pertaining defects or a problem of the passenger airbag sensing system/FMVSS 208, which can be referenced under the following Campaign number: 07V146000. While this is one safety component that is known & reported to NHTSA as wqell as GM, the component that I would like to personally repot is pertaining to specifically the driver side airbag as it did NOT deploy upon impact. INSPECTION: Yes, while my vehicle underwent a general inspection, following the collision, that was conducted through my insurance company, there has NOT been a thorough inspection into the Airbag Sensing System, or my vehicles Event Data Records (EDR) yet. I filed a Product Assistance Claim (PCC) personally with General Motors, letting them know of this problem of my airbags for which I have been contacted by one of GMs PAC customer representatives, but I have only heard from this individual once since I've opened the claim with GM. I have reached out by phone as well as email to follow up with GM on the status of my PAC, but unfortunately, I have not heard back from him since. WARNING MESSAGES: No, there was no warning light or message displayed anywhere that would be suggest a problem or that maintenance was indicated or needed.
Brake lights operate backwards at times, sometimes they operate normal. Sometimes not at all.
My taillights will not come on. It's not a fuse because if it were the the dash lights would also be out, but they're not
Electrical issue with my pontiac g6 I have had to replace my headlights bulbs multiple times due to the plugs melting I have actively seen the plug smoking and it has happened on both of my drl/low beam headlight bulbs resulting in plugs having to be replaced multiple times as well. My engine light isn't working and yet I have engine codes my service air bag light comes on at random my buckle seat belt light won't go off it stays on when I'm buckled in the driver's seat. My pressure sensor on my fuel tank has low voltage issues. When shutting the car off and opening the driver door all accessories that should of shut off are still active including the radio. The oil light is always turning on but the vehicle isn't low on oil nor does the message appear. When plugging in a car scanner the anti theft system light turns on and at random times will shut the car off. When the car scanner gets plugged in the rpms drop for a second and then go up as well. At times only one of my headlights work and I have to smack the headlight that isn't working to get it working.
My electric power steering keeps going in and out now I don't have any anything but stiffness from the steering wheel. Car is not drivable. Big safety risks.
No Low Beam Headlights illuminate now but one low beam headlight had been installed recently and BCM and/or harness was adjusted after which both low beam headlights had been working
Electrical system has mysteriously drained 2 batteries, the exterior lights vary on which will work despite the bulbs being good, the electric power steering comes on then off at inopportune times makes steering heavy and difficult to maintain Speed fluctuation the car will jump into gear or rev up to appropriate gear.
Going down a busy highway at night, 1 minute the car is fine, the next minute the lights go off and then the car dies. The service air bag light came on, the oil light came on, the anti theft light came on and the battery light also. I tried to crank it, nothing. I put a jump box on the battery it Crunk. Within the last 6 months I have replaced the starter twice, the alternator twice, the fuse box twice, and the battery twice.
Brake lights stay on when the car is in drive. Cruise control will not work. There are other intermittent electrical issues that are not safety related. With the brake lights always on, other drivers don't know when I'm stopping. The problem is ongoing and has been confirmed by an independent mechanic. there were no warning lights or messages. the problem started several years ago before I owned the car.
Headlight went out . Upon changing it I noticed that wiring harness was burnt and melted. Also was driving and power steering went out driving 65 miles per hour. The cruise control got stuck . Right side making horrible noise at times. This has put me and my five year old as well as anyone driving near me at risk of dying.
Something is draining battery. I have a brand new battery in it and battery was checked out at battery warehouse. I run car and about an hour the car is dead. I had problems with this car since I bought it from Koons in Westminster Md. I even paid for warranty but every time I took it back it didn’t cover it. This happened a lot I got a lemon and they refused to take it back. I put soo much money in this car I could of bought a brand new car. Now I’m stuck with a car that does not want to run again. What can I do about this car? I ran out of money 💰 to fix it. Please help. Thxs
I purchased my 2007 pontiac g6 4 cylinder with 40k on the odometer on 5/13/2021. I notice right away it started having problem when i drove it home and it has been almost three weeks now and the problem is intermitten. This issue happens on local road city speed (25mph) and on highway doing highway speed (60mph) intermittently. When this issue occurs the steering wheel shake like crazy and it seems like it wants to pull over to the left or the right (feels like the car wants to drive itself). I would have to put some force to keep the steering wheel straight. The error code would pop up on the radio display stating "power steering". There was a recall for this issue for the electronic power steering assist. The problem is that the recall expired 6/31/2006 and my car is made on 7/2006 so the vin number does not fall in the recall list. The situation is dangerous and this issue need to be address. This recall should extend to all 2005-2010 pontiac g6 with electronic power steering not just pick and choose which year can be on the recall list. This is ridiculous because GM know this problem and they don't care enough to do what they are supposed to do..Obviously I have no dealer warranty since the vehicle is 14 years old so a recall would help since the manufacturer is 110% at fault. GM should included more years on this recall list.. The amount gm dealer wants to fix the problem is ridiculous. Please help.
THE WIRING CONNECTOR FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM H11 HEADLIGHT HAS MELTED AND SHORTED 3 TIMES NOW, LEAVING THE DRIVER WITHOUT A DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHHT. VEHICLE WAS USING OEM PART NUMBER HEAD LIGHTS, OF WHICH NEVER BURNT OUT OR FAILED AND ORIGINAL HEADLIGHT HOUSINGS THAT IT ROLLED OFF ASSEMBLY WITH. EACH TIME THE HARNESS HAS BEEN REPLACED BY AN APPROPRIATE HARNESS BY A GM CERTIFIED REPAIR CENTER. I HAVE ONCE NOTICED WHILE USING THE REMOTE START FEATURE THAT THE HEADLIGHT WILL GET REALLY BRIGHT THEN APPEAR TO BURN OUT AS THE VEHICLES ENGINE STARTS. A CONNECTOR WITH SUCH HIGH IMPEDANCE I CONSIDER OUTRIGHT DANGEROUS AND A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. NOT TO MENTION THE RISK OF A SERIOUS CRASH DUE TO A MALFUNCTIONING HEADLIGHT.

THE CAR'S ANTI THEFT SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY OR REGULARLY, SO AT TIMES YOU CAN START THE CAR RIGHT AWAY BUT OTHER TIMES WHEN THE ANTO THEFT WON'T GO OFF YOU CAN'T START THE CAR FOR DAYS.

I RAN INTO MY FRIENDS VEHICLE WHILE TURNING AROUND IN MY YARD FROM HARD TO MANAGE THE STEERING. THE DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK ON IT'S OWN AT ANY GIVEN TIME. CAUSED ME TWO OCCASIONS OF LOCKSMITHS TO UNLOCK CAR. KEY FOB NEVER WORKED SINCE PURCHASED. 10

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR HOME ON DEC 11,2019 AND I HEARD A LOAD POP THAT CAME FROM UNDER MY DASH. SMOKE STARTED TO FILL MY CAR AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER AND SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I HAD NOTICED ALL MY INTERIOR LIGHTING AND COMPONENTS HAD STOPPED WORKING. I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME SAFELY AND WHEN I OPEN MY TRUNK I NOTICED THE FUSE BOX LOCATED IN THE TRUCK AND COMPLETELY BURNER UP. ALSO THE WIRES THAT ARE LOCATED UNDER THE DASH HAS ALSO CAUGHT FIRE AND THAT IS WHERE THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED TO THIS CAR AND BOTH CASES HAVE BEEN RECALLED IN THE 2006 PONTIAC G6 SEDANS. THE FIRST CASE WAS WHEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND I ALMOST WRECKED TRYING TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AND I WANT THIS PROBLEM TO BE LOOKED AT. I HAVE SPOKE TO AN ATTORNEY AND HE ADVISED ME TO FILL OUT A REPORT AND HOPEFULLY I CAN GET THIS MATTER TAKEN CARE OF. IT'S NOT FAIR FOR AN INDIVIDUAL TO BUY A CAR AND EXPECT TO BE SAFE KNOWING THAT THEY HAVE PUT CHEAP PARTS AND FAULTY WIRING IN IT. SOMETHING SERIOUS COULD HAVE HAPPENED AND MY CAR COULD HAVE EASY FOUGHT FIRE. THE ESTIMATE FOR THE DAMAGE WILL BE ABOUT $1000-$1200 DOLLARS AND I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY. THE POWER STEERING PROBLEM COST ME OVER $600. I WANT A REIMBURSEMENT AND I WANT MY CAR FIXED. THERE IS NO REASON WHY GM CAN'T FIX IT FOR FREE. IT'S CURRENTLY SITTING AT MY MECHANICS BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO GET IT FIXED. PLEASE TAKE TIME AND LOOK INTO THIS MATTER I FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED WHEN THE OTHER CARS WERE.

NEXT MY POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING AND THE WHEEL LOCKS UP I CHECKED FOR RECALLS IT SAYS MY CAR DOESN'T HAVE ANY BUT MY CAR IS DOING EVERYTHING SAID IN THE RECALL THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ESPECIALLY WITH TWO TODDLER KIDS.

DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT KEEPS BURNING OUT. THE ELECTRICAL WIRING APPEARS TO GET TOO HOT AND BURNS THE LIGHT BULB OUT. THE SOCKET AND THE BULB WOULD BOTH NEED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT THE SOCKET PARTIALLY MELTS. I HAVE REPLACED THE SOCKET AND THE BULB THREE TIMES AND THE SAME THING KEEPS HAPPENING.

IN ADDITION, THE SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND TRACTION INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT "ALL COMMUNICATIONS WERE LOST AND NO CODES WERE DETECTED". FURTHERMORE, THE CONVERTIBLE ROOF DID NOT CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BOWSER AUTOMOTIVE (412-469-2100, LOCATED AT 132-, 168 N LEWIS RUN RD, WEST MIFFLIN, PA 15122) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT DID NOT FIND ANY CODES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED IN 2017 PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,300.

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR TO WORK THIS MORNING ON A CITY STREET DOWNTOWN DALLAS IT WENT INTO A FLAM AND START SMOKING. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND DIAL 911 AND THEY CAME OUT AND LET THE FIRE OUT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME TO WATCH THE CAR BECUZ IT CAN START ANOTHER FIRE THE SPRAYED UNDER THE HOOD AND IN THE DASH BOARD INSIDE THE CAR. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID IT COULD BE SOME WIRING ISSUE BUT THEY WASN'T SURE. SO I CALLED AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO GOOD YEAR. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD LOOK AT THE CAR UNTIL TOMORROW AND WILL CALL ME ONCE THEY TAKE A LOOK
I HAVE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR AND AIR FILTER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND, AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, HAVE FOUND THAT MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING EVERY ISSUE TH'S TO HAVE SEEN IN PREVIOUS GM VEHICLE SAFETY RECALLS. UNFORTUNATELY, MY VIN NUMBER SEEMS TO BE ONE OF THOSE THAT HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED HAS HAVING HAD THOSE ISSUES ALTHOUGH IT CURRENTLY IS EXPERIENCING THEM. I WANT TO LODGE A COMPLAINT THAT THE VIN NUMBER SEARCH TOOL IS NOT ACCURATE ENOUGH TO DETERMINE THE VALIDITY OF A CLAIM. I SAY THIS BECAUSE EVEN ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE, THE TOOL SAYS THAT NOT ALL VIN NUMBERS THAT ARE EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH A RECALL HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN ASSOCIATED TO ANY RECALLS. AS THERE DO EXIST CURRENT RECALLS FOR ALL 07 PONTIAC G6 MODELS, THERE ARE NO RECALLS RELATED TO MY SPECIFIC VIN NUMBER. BUT, ALL OF THE RECALLS DIRECTLY MENTION EVERY ISSUES THAT MY CAR IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING. INCLUDING, THE TRANSMISSION NOT PROPERLY SHIFTING DUE TO A MADNESS OR BREAK IN THE SHIFT CABLE, THE POWER STEERING MOTOR SUDDENLY DYING, THE CAR EXPERIENCING A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER, ETC. EACH OF THESE ISSUES IS DIRECTLY MENTIONED IN A RECALL FOR G6 MODELS IN GENERAL, BUT FOR SOME REASON, NOT FOR MY CAR, SPECIFICALLY?

POWER STEERING MESSAGE POPS UP AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO TURN. THIS MAY HAPPEN WHEN YOU CRANK THE VEHICLE OR WILL HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. IT MAKES IT PULL TO THE SIDE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. ALSO, MY CAR HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS(FUEL PUMP) THE FUEL PUMP LEAKS FAST ONTO THE GAS TANK. THAT IS A FIRE HAZARD. IT IS ALSO HORRIBLE ON MY GAS MILEAGE. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND IF THERE IS ONE ALREADY OR NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE OUT OF THIS VEHICLE. AND SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY ON IT. THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ELECTRIC BOX AND IT THROWS CODES FOR MULTIPLE PROBLEMS, AND WHEN THOSE PROBLEMS ARE FIXED IT DOESN'T HELP. IT'S COSTING PEOPLE MONEY FOR NOTHING.

MY STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY GETS HARD TO MOVE. IT HAPPENS WHEN IM ON THE FREEWAY GOING 60+ MPH AND MY POWER STEERING PUMP JUST COMPLETELY GOVES OUT. I CAN PULL OVER AND TURN MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT STOPS DOING IT TIL I GET BACK UP TO THE SPEED LIMIT. I WAS TOLD BY A REPAIR SHOP THAT MY POWER STEERING WAS COVERED BY A GM RECALL, AND I CANT GET ANYONE TO FIND THE RECALL INFORMATION. MY CONCERN IS WHY IS IT JUST A FEW MAKES RECALLED IF THE ENTIRE YEAR OF THAT MAKE AND MODEL ARE FAULTY.

THE CONTACT HAD THE POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACED TWICE BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE SUNROOF HAD A LEAKED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THE SUNROOF WAS REPAIRED AND UPON INSPECTION BY ANOTHER DEALER IT WAS FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO LINING ON THE SUNROOF AND A WRENCH WAS STUCK IN THE TOP OF THE SUNROOF FRAMING. THE LEAK HAD DAMAGED THE ELECTRICAL FUNCTION OF THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT AND EXTENSIVE MOLD WAS ON ALL OF THE SEATBELTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND INDICATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS TO BE INCLUDED IN RECALLS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN SENT OUT. NOVEMBER OF 2012, RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO LUNGHAMER GMC DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AND HAD THE ENTIRE BRAKE SENSOR SYSTEM REPLACED AND RE-CALIBRATED. ONE MONTH AFTER THE REPAIR, THE BRAKE LIGHTS BEGAN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY AGAIN. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DAGWOOD'S IN MOUNT PLEASANT, MI WHERE I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS UNFIXABLE. DAGWOOD'S CLAIMED THAT THEY COULD REPLACE THE SWITCH AND RE-CALIBRATE AGAIN, BUT THAT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT RESUME IMMEDIATELY AFTER PULLING IT OFF THE LOT. THIS IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM, IN WHICH I HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER FOR A COUPLE OF TIMES. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT A MATTER OF A SIMPLE "FIX-IT" TICKET SINCE THERE SEEMS TO BE NO POSSIBLE REPAIR. FM TRANSMITTER WAS REMOVED AND THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE WAS DISCONNECTED. THE SOURCE OF SMOKE WAS THE REAR TRUNK FUSE BLOCK WHICH HAD MELTED AROUND THE SITE OF THE FRONT ELECTRIC PORT FUSE. ONCE SMOKE CLEARED, NEGATIVE CABLE WAS REATTACHED. AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES OF CHECKING CAR ELECTRICAL FROM DRIVERS SEAT, THE FUSE BLOCK WAS CHECKED AND A SMALL FIRE HAD STARTED. THIS WAS QUICKLY PUT OUT AND NEGATIVE CABLE TO BATTERY DISCONNECTED AGAIN. ANY REMAINING METAL BITS FROM ELECTRIC PORT FUSE WERE REMOVED AND ONCE THE NEGATIVE CABLE WAS AGAIN REATTACHED, NO MORE SMOKE APPEARED. HOWEVER, PARK LAMPS WOULD NOT TURN OFF, CAR DID NOT KNOW TRUNK WAS CLOSED, THE LEFT REAR TURN SIGNAL DID NOT WORK (EVEN THOUGH IT LIT UP WHEN PARK LAMPS WERE LEFT ON). OTHER RANDOM BUTTONS ON DRIVER CONTROL PANEL DID NOT WORK (REAR DEFROST, BUT FUSE WAS FINE). *TR

I HAVE FOLLOWED MY GIRLFRIEND WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND THEY FUNCTION THE EXACT OPPOSITE WAY THAT THEY SHOULD, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON THE WHOLE TIME YOU ARE DRIVING AND WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE LIGHTS GO OUT COMPLETELY AND DO NOT RETURN ON UNTIL YOU BEGIN ACCELERATING AGAIN. WORKING FINE ONLY LAST ABOUT 8 MONTHS WHEN I NOTICED THE REFLECTION OF MY BRAKE LIGHTS IN TRAFFIC SIGNS WHEN I WASN'T PUSHING ON THE BRAKE I REALIZED I ONCE AGAIN WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. SINCE I HAVE LEFT THAT FIRST SHOP IN 2010, I HAVE TAKEN MY G6 TO 2 DIFFERENT SHOPS WITHIN THE LAST 3 YEARS PAYING UPWARDS OF $500.00 TO GET THE SAME ISSUE RESOLVED EACH TIME. I HAVE ALSO BEEN STUCK IN A FEW PARKING LOTS NOT BEING ABLE TO SHIFT MY CAR OUT OF PARK. I WAS ALONE IN THE DARK ON A SNOWY NIGHT FOR 30 MINUTES IN A DESERTED PARKING LOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. THE BRAKE LIGHT MALFUNCTION COMES AND GOES THROUGHOUT THE YEARS SUBSIDING FOR A SHORT PERIODS OF TIME BUT THEN RETURNS AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. THIS SPRING, THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED NON-STOP AND I HAVE AGAIN, BEEN FLAGGED DOWN BY 3 OTHER DRIVERS TO INFORM ME OF MY BRAKE LIGHTS BEING ON WHILE DRIVING AND GOING OFF WHEN ACTUALLY BRAKING. I HAVE ALSO BEEN FOLLOWED TOO CLOSE BY MANY DRIVERS AND CUT OFF IN TRAFFIC SEVERAL TIMES. THE PROBLEM WITH THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF AT THE WRONG TIMES HAS BEEN CAUSING THIS TYPE OF ROAD RAGE TO BE AIMED AT ME AND I FEEL IT IS PUTTING ME AND MY PASSENGERS IN DANGER. FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS MY STEERING DOES A POPPING SOUND AND FEEL WHEN I MAKE SLOW SHARP TURNS (AS IN U-TURNS). WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE GAS PEDAL THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL COME BACK ON. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT OPERATE WHEN THE ISSUE IS OCCURRING. SOMETIMES THE ISSUE CAN BE RESOLVED BY STOPPING THE VEHICLE, TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTART. THE ISSUE WILL ALSO JUST BEGIN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND MAY JUST AS SUDDENLY QUIT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH TO INDICATE THE ISSUE IS OCCURRING. ONLY AT NIGHT, IN A DARK ENVIRONMENT, ARE YOU ABLE TO KNOW THE ISSUE IS OCCURRING BECAUSE OF THE ABILITY TO SEE THE CENTER BRAKE LIGHT IS LIGHT. DURING THE DAYLIGHT, OR CITY LIGHT ENVIRONMENT, THE NON-FUNCTIONING CRUISE IS THE ONLY INDICATION OF THE PROBLEM. IMPROPERLY FUNCTIONING BRAKE LIGHTS IS A HIGH SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND STATED THAT IT WAS AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT (ELECTRICAL) FIRE. SHE NOTIFIED GENERAL MOTORS AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CHIEF AND THE GENERAL MOTORS INSPECTOR INFORMED HER THAT IT WAS AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT ELECTRICAL FIRE. GENERAL MOTORS CLOSED THE CASE AND STATED THAT THEY DID NOT FIND A DEFECT. THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RUNNING HOT AT THE TIME AND COULD NOT SUDDENLY CATCH FIRE. GENERAL MOTORS ADVISED HER TO GO TO HER INSURANCE COMPANY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 9,000.

DRIVING ALONG ON A DRY ROAD WHEN THE CAR STARTED MAKING DINGING SOUNDS. THE ABS AND ESC DUMMY LIGHTS CAME ON. THE RADIO DISPLAYED THE FOLLOWING, "ESC SERVICE REQUESTED". THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT THE SENSOR HARNESS WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE FRONT AXLE, WHICH CAUSED THE CASING TO BECOME COMPROMISED AND SHORT OUT. THIS CAUSED BOTH THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME WAS ONLY TWO WEEKS OLD AND ONLY HAD 480 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO ORDER A NEW WIRE HARNESS AND SENSOR CONTROL MODULES TO REPLACE THE FAULTY ONES.
