Not sure if the problem is in the engine or engine or the fuel but I but I smell Exhaust or gas when the engine is running. With the headlights I can barely see at night. Having my brights on Is like having your regular lights on.
ENGINE STARTED SMELLING OF SMOKE AND UPON DRIVING TO WORK AND OR HOME THE CARS OIL LIGHT CAME ON TO FILL THIS CAR IT TAKES 4.2 QUARTS OF OIL, AFTER PUTTING 4 QUARTS OF OIL WITHIN THE MOTOR I NOTICED A LEAK COMING FROM THE OIL PAN AREA TO FIND OUT THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR WAS DAMAGED AND WAS LEAKING 12 QUARTS OF OIL IN 25 MILES POTENTIAL OIL SPILL TO HIT HOT EXHAUST CAUSING COMBUSTION.

I AM DRIVING DOWN HWY 311 IN HOUMA, LA. I WENT AROUND ANOTHER VEHICLE AND AS MY CAR WENT INTO PASSING GEAR I HEAR A NOISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I STOPPED AND PUT GAS IN MY CAR. AS I'M DRIVING DOWN SAVANNE ROAD I HEAR THE NOISE AGAIN. AS I'M DRIVING THE NOISE GETS LOUDER AND WORSE. ON JUNE 10, 2020 THE CAR STARTS GETTING HOT SO I PULL OVER AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. SMOKE STARTS COMING OUT THE HOOD AND WATER IS ALL OVER THE GROUND. CAN'T FIND WHERE THE WATER SPEWED OUT AT OR A CRACK OR ANYTHING. FANS ARE CONSTANTLY NOT WORKING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENS. CAR WOULDN'T START. GET IT STARTED AND IMMEDIATELY WENT STRAIGHT HOME. THE BEARINGS ARE GOING OUT IN THE ENGINE. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN FEBRUARY 2013 AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS SINCE MARCH 2013. AC GOES OUT. I FIX IT. IT WORKS A WEEK OR 2 AND STOPS AGAIN. ABS LIGHT IS ON BUT A MECHANIC CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON NO MATTER WHAT. THE PIECES ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOORS HAVE FALLEN OFF, ONCE WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I ALWAYS HAVE TROUBLE STARTING IT. CHANGED THE BATTERY 3 TIMES. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT AND THE HOUSINGS FOR THEM ARE HORRIBLE. THE SUNROOF LEAKS INTO THE DOME LIGHT. THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT GETS STUCK DOWN AND I HAVE TO FIGHT WITH IT TO GET IT UP TO BUCKLE IT. THE WHOLE CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED AND ON THE LIST OF WORST CARS NUMBERS 1 THRU 20 WITH OTHERS AFTER. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND SUDDENLY AN INTENSE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD, WHICH MELTED THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY AND VARIOUS COMPONENTS NEAR THE PART. 911 EMERGENCY WAS CONTACTED AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT LATER CAME TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A YARD AND DESTROYED FROM THE FLAMES. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DID NOT INSPECT NOR DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. FOUR MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V116000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) WHICH STARTED MID APRIL 08,2009 AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHY THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT SENT THE NOTICE BEFORE THE FAILURE. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER 2016. THE FIRST TIME I STARTED THE CAR AFTER BRING IT HOME, IT EXPLODED AND THE MOTOR STARTED BURNING. THE CAR WAS PARKED AT 38059 JUDD RD, BELLEVILLE, MI 48111 WHEN I TURNED THE KEY OVER IT EXPLODED. I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE MOTOR LEAKING OIL ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD THAT COULD CATCH ON FIRE. I CALLED GM ON THE RECALL. I SENT PICTURES JUST AS THEY ASKED ME TO. THEY RESPONDED TO ME THAT THEY FOUND THE INCIDENT WAS NOT FROM THE RECALL, HOWEVER I COULD TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND GET $650.00. HOW CAN THEY DETERMINE THE RECALL FROM PICTURES? I HAVE OVER $2200.00 INVESTED INTO THIS CAR THAT I PURCHASED LESS THEN TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE CAR EXPLODED. I DIDN'T EVEN DRIVE THE CAR ONE TIME AFTER BRINING IT HOME. I NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM GM. EVERY PHONE NUMBER THAT HAS BEEN PROVIDED TO ME LEADS NOWHERE. I EMAILED MR. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE PRIOR BUT DID TAKE THE CAR IN A FEW MONTHS AGO FOR GM RECALL 15757.

I STARTED SMELLING A STRONG GASOLINE SMELL - SO OPENED THE HOOD TO CHECK WHAT WAS THE CAUSE. I TOOK OFF THE ENGINE COVER AND DISCOVERED THAT THE 3/8" QUICK CONNECTOR AT FUEL RAIL WAS DRIPPING FUEL ALL OVER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. YIKES!!! THE POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE IS/WAS HUGE. I DO NOT KNOW HOW LONG THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING.

I RECENTLY RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM GM, RECALL# 15757, FIRST WEEK OF MARCH 2016 REGARDING THE ENGINE'S FRONT VALVE COVER AND GASKET TO BE REPLACED WITH NEW PARTS DUE TO DROPS OF ENGINE OIL THAT MAY DEPOSIT ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WHICH COULD CAUSE AN ENGINE FIRE. I CALLED DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD PARTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND I WAS PLACED ON A WAITING LIST. ON APRIL 9, 2016, MY CAR STARTED ON FIRE DUE TO OIL LEAK. THE CAR WAS PARKED FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE SMOKE AND FIRE STARTED TO COME FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE FIRE DEPT. DID COME OUT AND PUT THE FIRE OUT, HOWEVER, THE ENTIRE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS TOTALED. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP ON APRIL 11TH, IN WHICH THE DEALERSHIP STILL DID NOT HAVE THE RECALL PARTS AVAILABLE. GM MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND HAD ME TOW (AT MY EXPENSE) MY CAR TO SAM SWOPE AUTO CENTER WHERE IT WAS EVALUATED. AT NO TIME DID SAM SWOPE SAY THE FIRE WASN'T CAUSED BY THE RECALL ISSUE. THE BILL TO REPAIR WAS GOING TO BE $4,700. SAM SWOPE SAID THEY COULD NOT FIX WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FROM GM. AFTER 2 WEEKS OF GETTING THE RUNAROUND AND BEING ASKED QUESTIONS LIKE, "HOW MANY PONTIACS HAVE YOU OWNED" AND "HOW LOYAL OF A CUSTOMER ARE YOU", THEY DECIDED THE CAR WAS TOO OLD AND HAD TOO MANY MILES TO REPAIR AND STATED THAT GM'S LIABILITY ENDS 4 YRS AFTER PURCHASE, BUT DID OFFER TO FIX THE RECALL. I ASKED WHY IF THEY DIDN'T ASSUME ANY LIABILITY AFTER 4 YRS, WHY SEND A RECALL. THE REP STATED THAT THEY ARE COMPUTER GENERATED. WE ALSO HAD THAT FIXED FOR $480.00 OUT OF OUR POCKETS. THEN ON FEBRUARY 22,2013 AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE , THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE WITHIN MINUTES AND COMPLETELY ENGULFED THE CAR!( WE HAD TAKEN IT IN FOR THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE RECALL AT OUR PONTIAC DEALERSHIP PREVIOUSLY TO BE FIXED.) THE WHOLE CAR WAS DESTROYED, FRONT TIRES MELTED OFF, EVERYTHING UNDER HOOD WAS MELTED AND DESTROYED, THE WHOLE INSIDE WAS FRIED OR MELTED. WE LOST GPS, GARAGE DOOR OPENER, HIS SCHOOL BOOKS, HIS STEREO AND CD'S AND SOME MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS. CAR WAS HAULED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND DID NOT HAVE FULL COVERAGE ON CAR SO LOST EVERYTHING.
