THEY CLAIM THEY FIXED THE RECALL PROBLEM. I LEFT DEALER SHIP AND THE HOOD OF MY CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE AFTER LEAVING 5 MIN UP THE STREET TO A SERVICE CENTER. I WAS ADVISED TO TOW MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALER. THEY ARE CLAIMING THE RECALL WAS FIXED. HOWEVER, THE VERY SAME THING THAT THE RECALL WAS FOR HAPPENED. I AM IN FEAR OF DRIVING THIS CAR AGAIN UNLESS I KNOW THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED. MY CONCERN IS, IF THEY CLAIM THE RECALL PROBLEM WAS FIXED WHAT CAUSED THE HOOD OF THE CAR TO CATCH ON FIRE. THERE IS 90,000 KMS ON CAR AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED AND SYNTHETIC OIL AND PREMIUM GAS USED. DEC/06 HEARD TICKING TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP, THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM DID A HOT OIL CHANGE AND TICK STOPPED OR WAS MASKED. NOW WE HAVE A SEVERE PROBLEM, NEW ENGINE REQUIRED AND THE CAR IS WORTH NOTHING. IT ALSO APPEARS TO BE A GASKET PROBLEM. WAS THERE A RECALL, THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM?

THE WARRANTY IS GOOD UP TO 75,000, AND I PLAN TO GET THE REPAIRS MADE BY THE DEALER UNDER MY CONTRACT. HOWEVER, THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED TO SUCH A NEW AUTOMOBILE, AND I UNDERSTAND OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE AT 35,000 MILES. *NM
