THE CONTACT COULD NOT OPEN THE DOORS AND BECAME LOCKED INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MANIPULATED THE MANUAL DOOR LOCK SIX TIMES BEFORE THE DOOR OPENED. THE CONTACT WAS FORCED TO GET ASSISTANCE FROM ANOTHER DRIVER IN ORDER TO CHARGE THE BATTERY TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT OFFER A REMEDY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 108,000. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE TELEVISION MONITOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE WOULD BECOME VERY HOT TO THE TOUCH AND A BURNING ODOR WAS PRESENT FROM THE MONITOR. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE DEFECT. THE FUSE FOR THE MONITOR WAS REMOVED BY THE DEALER, MAKING THE MONITOR INOPERABLE. SINCE PURCHASING NEARLY 2 YRS AGO FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP, IT HAS HAD NUMEROUS MINOR ISSUES AND SOME DANGEROUS PROBLEMS AS WELL. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR DOESN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY. WE HAD THE VAN LOOKED AT BY A MECHANIC FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND HE WAS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEMS WITH THE DOOR. THE SLIDER DOOR OPENS RANDOMLY, WON'T SHUT, OR JUST KEEPS OPENING AND SHUTTING FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON. WE'VE TRIED TURNING THE SWITCH OFF ON THE CONSOLE, WHICH FOR THE MOST PART KEEPS THE DOOR SHUT~ BUT THEN THAT DOOR IS UNUSABLE. NOW FOR THE MOST SERIOUS OF MY CONCERNS WITH THE CONSOLE SWITCH OFF, THE DOOR HAS ON OCCASION OPENED ON ITS OWN WHEN THE VAN IS GOING DOWN THE ROAD. ALSO, AT LEAST 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS, THE DOOR HAS OPENED ON ITS OWN IN THE NIGHT AND STAYED OPEN~ CAUSING MY BATTERY TO BE DEAD IN THE MORNING. ANOTHER PROBLEM WE HAVE HAS IS THE ABS AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON RANDOMLY, WE HAD THE VAN SERVICED AND STILL IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE THOSE SYSTEMS ARE WORKING PROPERLY. *TR

I HAVE A HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE VAN MADE BY M.C. MOBILITY AND GM. MY AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR OPENS ITSELF AND EXECUTES THE RAMP AT DIFFERENT TIMES. ONCE I WAS AT THE DRIVE THRU AND PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND IT OPENED THE DOOR AND EXECUTED THE RAMP. OTHER TIMES IT HAS OPENED AND CLOSED BY ITSELF. ONE TIME DURING AN OUTDOOR EVENT SOME FOLKS WATCHED MY CAR FOR ENTERTAINMENT FOR 4 HOURS AND DURING THAT TIME PERIOD IT OPENED AND CLOSED ITSELF 14 TIMES. WE HAVE HAD THE DOOR WORKED ON MANY TIMES AND IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED AND I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHARE THE DOCUMENTATION. THE WHEELS ON MY DOOR HAVE BEEN CHANGED SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE REPLACED MY CAR BATTERY AND THE BATTERIES OF BOTH KEY FOBS. RIGHT NOW IT HAS BEEN WORKING CORRECTLY FOR ABOUT 60 DAYS
FOR SEVERAL DAYS WE NOTICED AS STRONG CHEMICAL LIKE SMELL IN THE CAR AND THEN NOTICED THAT THE MIRROR CONTROL NO LONGER WORKED. I TOOK OFF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SWITCH PANEL TO INVESTIGATE THE MIRROR PROBLEM AND FOUND THE MIRROR CONTROL HAD BEEN SMOLDERING FOR DAYS. THE ASSEMBLY WAS COMPLETELY CHARRED AND MATING CONNECTOR HAD ALSO MELTED. *TR

NO INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED. THE SPEEDOMETER HAS BEEN ACTING UP FOR 6 - 7 MOS. AND HAS CONTINUALLY GOTTEN WORSE. THE CAR IS ONLY 3.5 YEARS OLD WITH 79,000 MILES. I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE CLUSTER (PANEL) WHICH THE COST OF THE PART ALONE IS $400. GM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THIS MAKE AND MODEL AS HAVING A PROBLEM BUT I FIND IT VERY CONVENIENT THAT THIS IS SUCH A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH GM PRODUCTS. *TR

FLICKERING INTERIOR LIGHTS, ABS SYSTEM FAILURE (4X), RETORQUE HARMONIC BALANCER, REPLACE RADIO THAT RANDOMLY CHANGED STATIONS, REPLACE MOLDING ON ALL DOORS FROM RUST (2X), RIGHT WHEEL BEARING AND HUB ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (2X), REPLACE TURN SIGNAL LAMPS (2X), REPLACE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, REPLACE STRAP ON REAR DOOR THAT FELL OFF. WE HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH IT NOT TURNING OVER AS WELL, GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR, AND EACH TIME IT IS TAKEN INTO THE SHOP THEY ARE 'UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM' AND SEND ME HOME WHERE OF COURSE IT FAILS TO TURN OVER BUT WON'T DO IT WHEN THEY HAVE IT IN THEIR POSSESSION. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE REAR LEFT SLIDING DOOR OPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, WHERE THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED. ALSO, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE ELECTRIC STARTER MOTOR STAYED ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED 4 TIMES TO MAKE THE STARTER RETURN TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, WHERE THE STARTER WAS REPLACED, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED.*AK THE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVING ABS SYSTEM FOR MY 2005 PONTIAC SV6 MONTANA. ON OR ABOUT AUGUST 11, 2006 MY ABS LIGHT CAME ON WHILE UNDER NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VAN. THIS HAS BEEN AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM OVER THE PAST 6 WEEKS. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL INDEPENDENT SHOP TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AND THE LOCAL SHOP INFORMED ME THAT THE CODES WERE TO NEW THAT I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS HAVING AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THERE WERE NO FAULTY MODULES BUT THAT THIS WAS A WIRING PROBLEM. I AM THE ONLY OWNER OF AN 05 PONTIAC MONTANA THAT I KNOW. RECENTLY I HAVE HAD VARIOUS OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER SLIDING DOOR INTERMITTENTLY OPENING WHENEVER YOU ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE (RIGHT SIDE ONLY). MY 6 YEAR OLD SITS IN THE RIGHT REAR SEAT. HOPE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. DOES THIS VEHICLE HAVE FAULTY WIRING OR DO I JUST HAVE BAD LUCK. *JB

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE'S HEADLIGHTS HAD AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT CAUSED THE LIGHTS TO FLICKER AND NOT REMAIN ILLUMINATED. PREVIOUSLY, THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS HAD ALSO EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO THE SERVICE DEALER TWELVE TIMES, BUT WERE UNABLE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. UPDATED 10/14/2006 - THE DEALER HAD REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR TO TRY TO ALLEVIATE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE REAR POWER WINDOWS SOMETIME WOULD NOT OPEN OR SHUT, THE REAR WASHER AND WIPER FAILED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIRES, MOTORS REGULATORS, ETC. BU THE PROBLEMS RECURRED. THE CONSUEMR WAS GIVEN A 100,000 MILE WARRANTY ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE TIRES STARTED CUPPING AND CAUSED SERIOUS ROAD NOISE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LEAK OIL. THE DEALR REPLACED THE MAIN SEAL. *NM

WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS, DASH LIGHTS AND RADIO DIM, LIKE THEY ARE HAVING SURGES OF POWER. THE VOLUME ON THE RADIO ALSO GOES UP AND DOWN. I HAVE BEEN "SPOTLIGHTED" AT NIGHT BY ON COMING CARS BECAUSE THEY THINK I HAVE MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ON BUT THAT IS WHEN THEY ARE "SURGING". I HAVE BEEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS. ONE SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC POLLUTION PUMP AND THE OTHER SAID IT WAS RELATED TO THE CHARGING SYSTEM. BOTH HAVE STATED THAT GM HAS CONSIDERED THIS A NORMAL CONDITION. IN MY OPINION THIS IS DANGEROUS. *NM
