Me and my husband were driving down the road to go see a friend and all of a sudden the wheel hub assembly broke in half causing us to have to slam on our brakes and keep from crashing. The wheel almost ended up under our truck making the truck look like it was kachowing like Lightening McQueen from the movie Cars

i recieved a recall for the rear axle pinion nut, took truck in and was told my truck was not involved. then i recieved another recall for the same thing and took truck in and they installed a retainer on the nut and this was supposed to fix the problem. now at 85,000 miles the pinion came loose so the retainer was not the answer. took to dealer and they want me to pay then try to get my money back from chrysler. i think chrysler should fix it at there cost because they knew they had a bad product to start with. truck is well taken care of not beaten normal driving. there is no way a rear end should go out at 85,000 miles. sent a notice to chrysler complaint dept but no responce, gues they just dont care.hope you do

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT STARTED TO SMELL FUEL FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THROUGH THE REARVIEW MIRROR, HE ALSO NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE 4WD WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, EXITED THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED SMOKE AND A FUEL LEAK ON THE REAR TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR AXLE AND REAR WHEEL SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,792.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE REAR WHEELS LOCKED UP AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS BENT AND THE PINION NUT AND BEARINGS WERE SHAVED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO COURTESY CHRYSLER/DODGE IN CONYERS GEORGIA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE FRACTURED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC NOTIFIED THE CONTACT OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V038000 (SUSPENSION). THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.

AFTER ABOUT 15 MINS OR SO, IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL... BUT ONCE I STARTED TRAVELLING AGAIN SAME DISTANCE & MPH THE ISSUE STARTED AGAIN... THIS ISSUE IS RANDOM, THERE ARE TIMES IT DOES IT AND TIMES IT DOESNT, BUT MOST TIMES ITS ONCE THE VEHICLE IS AT A HIGH SPEED.

PLEASE HELP. I HAVE 6 KIDS I DRIVE EVERY DAY TO 3 SCHOOLS PLUS WORK. THE TRUCKS STEEERING IS LOOSE, BRAKES ARE CRAZY AND IM AFRAID IM GOING TO LOOSE CONTROL OR NOT BE ABLE TO STOP BUT THE OFFER IS REDICULOUS.

THE 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 HAS SUSPENSION PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT BALL JOINTS BEING TOO SMALL. THIS LEADS TO MY TRUCK SKIPPING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ANY BUMPY ROADS AND HAS CAUSED ME MANY, MANY TIMES TO SUDDENLY LOOSE CONTROL. ON BUMPY DIRT ROADS IT CAN HAPPEN AT 35-45 MPH. ON THE HIGHWAY IT IS VERY BAD BETWEEN 55-60 MPH IF YOU HIT ANY BUMP OR EVEN IN A TIGHT CURVE. THIS TRUCK IS HIGHLY UNSTABLE. WHEN PULLING A BOAT WHERE LESS WEIGHT IS ON THE FRONT WHEELS, IT MULTIPLIES THE PROBLEM. I AM FORCED TO NEVER GO FASTER THAN 50MPH ON ANY CURVES THAT ARE REMOTELY SHARP. THE SECOND PROBLEM IS NOT A ACTIVE SAFETY PROBLEM BUT IS A HORRIBLE PROBLEM FOR EMISSION. MY TRUCK HAS THE INFAMOUS HEMI TICK. THIS IS CAUSED BY FAULTY MANIFOLD BOLTS THAT EITHER BACK OFF, RUST OFF, OR BREAK OFF LEAVING GAPS BETWEEN THE HEAD AND THE MANIFOLD. CO2 IS LEAKING OUT OF THE ENGINE PRIOR TO GOING INTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE EPA SHOULD GET INVOLVED...

WHILE TRAVELLING ON A HIGHWAY (STRAIGHT AWAY) MY LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING LET GO CAUSING TIRE AND ROTOR TO DISCONNECT FROM VEHICLE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL BEARING WAS IN VERY BAD SHAPE, NEEDING REPLACEMENT. VEHICLE HAS UNDER 65000 MILES ON IT. PREVIOUS BEARINGS ON DODGE RAM TRUCKS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SIMILAR ISSUES. THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS VIBRATION OR STEERING ISSUE UNTIL THE WHEEL CAME LOOSE.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING; HOWEVER, THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE CODE FOR THE ENGINE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V529000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,600.

ON 11-8-14, I TOOK A 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCK IN FOR ENGINE REPAIRS. THE MECHANIC NOTED BOTH FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED REPLACED. A SEARCH FOR THE NEEDED PARTS REVEALED NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE FOR AT LEAST 30 TO 60 DAYS. FOUR WEEKS LATER ON 12-5-14, A FLUID LEAK WAS NOTED FROM THE FRONT END. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RIGHT FRONT AXLE SEAL NEEDED REPLACED IMMEDIATELY, DUE TO A HEAVY LEAK.THE NORMAL REPAIR WOULD INVOLVE REPLACING THE LOWER FRONT BALL JOINT TO ENTER THE AXLE TO GET TO THE SEAL. THIS COULD NOT BE DONE SINCE NO LOWER FRONT BALL JOINTS COULD BE FOUND TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR. THE MECHANIC ACCESSED THE AXLE SEAL BY GOING THRU THE TOP OF THE AXLE. THE SEAL WILL AGAIN HAVE TO BE REPLACED WHEN LOWER BALL JOINTS BECOME AVAILABLE, AT A COST OF AN ADDITIONAL $150. THIS SITUATION PRESENTS A RISK TO THE DRIVER AND MOTORING PUBLIC, SINCE THE NECESSARY PARTS CAN NOT BE SOURCED. IT CREATES A RISK THAT THE LUBRICATING FLUID INSIDE THE AXLE WILL LEAK OUT, WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE AXLE "TYING UP," CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL AND CRASH. CHRYSLER WILL NOT, OR CAN NOT MAKE THE NECESSARY PARTS AVAILABLE TO ITS DEALERS OR INDEPENDENT MECHANICS. WELL THIS RECALL HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW AND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ARE SO FAR BEHIND. WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, I HEARD A TERRIBLE SOUND OUT OF THE REAR OF MY RAM TRUCK. I TRIED TO STOP MY VEHICLE AS SOON AS I COULD WHILE THE SOUND KEPT ON GETTING EVEN MORE TERRIBLE. WHEN I STOPPED AND LOOKED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVESHAFT FELL OFF FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND OIL SPILLED ON ROAD. THERE WAS NO WARNING OR NO ENGINE LIGHT SIGNAL IN THE VEHICLE ELECTRONICS BEFORE OR AFTER THIS HAPPENED. HAS THE VEHICLE BEEN ON A FREEWAY WITH A SPEEDLIMIT OF 100 KM/HR OR SO, I THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY TOUGH TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE IN THIS BREAK-DOWN AND IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A FATAL ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN A POSITION TO BE DRIVEN FURTHER AND I HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO A NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN COQUITLAM, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA. IT HAS BEEN DAYS NOW AND I HAVE NOT YET HEARD BACK FROM CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THAT WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM AND WHAT WILL BE DONE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. ON CHECKING WITH DEALERSHIP, THEY SAY THAT THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM TILL NOW. LUCKILY, MY VEHICLE IS STILL INSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD AND SO THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THE COST TO REPAIR WILL BE COVERED, BUT THEY HAVE NO FIXED TIMELINE ON HOW SOON THEY CAN FIX IT. I TRIED REACHING OUT TO CHRYSLER AND FILED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS, BUT THE RESPONSE FROM CHRYSLER IS NOT VERY HELPFUL AND THEY ARE NOT AT ALL WORRIED ABOUT MY SUFFERINGS AND LOSS THAT I AM CURRENTLY FACING DUE TO THIS VEHICLE NOT BEING AVAILABLE/READY FOR MY USE YET. *TR
