The contact owns a 2012 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the check engine, air bag, and the fuel pump relay failure warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the exterior lights failed to operate as needed, and the vehicle occasionally failed to start. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the TIPM was faulty and needed to be replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 160,000.

Driver warning light came for airbag, yes it could be if deployed, no dealer has confirmed (but looked up recall # 15V459000), called molar said no recall on my vehicle…., no one else looked at vehicles book says to immediately take to dealer, yes warning light on follow book info and it appeared 9/8/24
The seat belt and air bag warning light has stayed on. I have had multiple Mechanics, look at it and even try to inspect it. So the lights will go off and they cannot find a problem. I am just worried that if I getting an accident my seatbelt wont-work correctly and the airbags wont-work correctly. I have tried to do a hard reset and so has the mechanics but the lights stay on.
The dash warning light appeared referring to a possible problem with the airbags. I took vehicle to the local dealer and I was informed after their inspection that I did have a problem the passenger airbag. They said they would need to replace passenger seat airbag and wiring harness associated with that device.
Warning light on air bags stays lit will not go out according the other trucks of the same year and make where I worked this light does this on most of them it has been on for over a year
I had a recall, R36 - NHTSA Recall #15V-459, completed in 2015 for my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. However, currently, the same issues associated with that recall is causing my Air Bag warning light to turn on. This is surely a safety issue. By the recommendation of Mopar/Stellantis Customer Care, I had it diagnosed by the dealer and was told I have to pay for the cost to repair. I believe this same issue, Clock Spring malfunction, is the same as the recall and should be fixed and the cost to repair not be incurred by the owner. Expired warranty, completed recall, etc. shouldn't be a factor if the same problem is happening, hence the recall.

MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON AND MY HORN OR CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK. NOT SURE IF I GOT IN AN ACCIDENT THAT MY AIR BAG WOULD ACTUALLY DEPLOY.. THINKING IT IS A CLOCK SPRING ISSUE.. HAD A RECALL ON MY 2011 WRANGLER AND SAME THING WAS HAPPENING TO THAT VEHICLE ALSO..THIS HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER I STARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER WORK TODAY.

MY AIR BAG WIRING HARNESS UNDER THE SEAT HAS BEEN CUT DUE TO THE SEAT BEING MOVED BACK AND FORTH. THE HARNESS WAS ROUTED ABOVE THE TRACK ON THE SEAT AND OVER TIME IT GOT CUT AND OR UNPLUGGED AS THE WIRE WAS TOO SHORT. I HAVE TO HAVE THE WHOLE SYSTEM REPLACED IN ORDER TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THERE HAS BEEN 7 DIFFERENT EMAILS SENT TO CHRYSLER DODGE IN MICHIGAN WITH A COUPLE OF RETURN RESPONSES. I HAVE PAID OUT OF POCKET AND TIME TO HAVE THIS ISSUE TRY TO BE RESOLVED ON LOCAL LEVEL AND NOW IT HAS GONE FAR BEYOND WHAT I CAN DO AND NEEDS TO BE ESCALATED AS THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM. IT WAS BELOW 25 DEGREES WHEN I GOT UP THIS MORNING SO THE WINDOW HAD ICE ON IT. I STARTED MY TRUCK TO DEFROST THE WINDOW. I OPENED THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR TO PUT MY BAG IN AND WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR THE AIRBAG WENT OFF. NOVEMBER 2018, ON A HIGHWAY, HIT A BUMP, AND THE SEAT BELT AND AIR BAG LIGHTS CAME ON, THERE WAS A MESSAGE THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT WAS UNFASTENED, EVEN THOUGH THE SEAT BELT WAS SECURELY FASTENED, AND THE SEAT BELT CHIME RANG CONTINUOUSLY. ABOUT 100 MILES LATER, I HIT ANOTHER BUMP AND THE LIGHTS WENT OFF AND THE TRUCK STAYED FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. IN JANUARY 2019, AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND FASTENING THE SEAT BELT, THE SEAT BELT LIGHT CAME BACK ON, THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE SEAT BELT MESSAGE SAYS THAT IT IS NOT FASTENED AND IT CHIMES CONTINUOUSLY FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ON FEBRUARY 20, 2019. THEY FOUND A CODE "U0151 OCR MODULE LOST COMMUNICATION" AND TOLD ME THE OCR MODULE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED BUT IT IS ON BACK ORDER. THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT EVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS THAT WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED THE AIR BAGS. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 73,000 MILES ON IT. I AM UPLOADING SEVERAL PICTURES. THE FIRST IS THE DASHBOARD SHOWING THE LIGHTS ON AND SEATBELT UNFASTENED MESSAGE EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE SEATBELT FASTENED. THE SECOND IS A PICTURE OF THE OCR MODULE WHICH I LOOKED AT TO MAKE SURE IT DIDN'T HAVE ANY LOOSE WIRES. AND THE THIRD IS THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT FROM THE DEALERSHIP.

THE DEALER CHECKED AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. BUT MY MILEAGE HAS GONE FROM 15.8 TO 11.8. I'M NOT DRIVING DIFFERENTLY. SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE SAID THEY DID THE ALIGNMENT AND IT WAS FIXED.I HOPE SO NEVER GOT IT CHECKED AGAIN. I DONT HOLD MY BREATHE FOR THAT. THEN MY SUSPENSION LEANS TO THE RIGHTSIDE JUST A LITTLE BUT NOTHINGS WRONGS SO IM TOLD BY THE DEALER. AND MY DASH LIGHTS USED TO COME ON AND FLASH AND THE RADIO WAS OVERHEATING HAD TO GET A NEW ON. KEEP IN MIND THE WAS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD WHEN THIS ALL STARTED AND I BROUGHT BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 5 MILES ON IT FROM MY TEST DRIVE. I PURCHASED A 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCK WITH SLIGHTLY LESS THAN 36000 MILES. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS GOING ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY THUS INDICATING THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT BE DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. I TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO AN AUTHORIZED DODGE DEALERSHIP 7 TIMES IN AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IT SEEMS AT THIS POINT IT IS FINALLY FIXED (IT SOMETIMES TAKES 2-3 WEEKS BEFORE THE PROBLEM RECURS). THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY INDICATED THAT THE AIRBAG ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAD BEEN HARDWIRED. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THIS WAS THE FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AT THE TIME BY CHRYSLER, AND THIS WAS VERIFIED BY CHRYSLER CORP. THERE ARE MANY SUCH COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT FEEL THAT MOST INDIVIDUALS KNOW WHERE TO REPORT FAULTY PROBLEMS IN ORDER TO FORCE A CHANGE. I SPENT APPROXIMATELY $2000. I AM SURE IF THE DEALERSHIP HAD NOT STEPPED INTO HELP THAT THE BILL WOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSER TO $4500. CORRESPONDING WITH CHRYSLER PROVED TO BE FRUSTRATING. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT AFTER I FELT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED I SHOULD FAX THE BILLS TO THEM. THE DEALERSHIP EVEN TRIED TO GET THEM TO PAY FOR THE PARTS. I JUST RECEIVED AN PHONE MESSAGE FROM THEM INDICATING THE PROBLEM IS FIXED, AND CASE WILL BE CLOSED. THERE WAS NO REFERENCE FOR REIMBURSEMENT. OF COURSE, I WILL WRITE THEM BACK. I THINK WHAT BOTHERED ME MOST WAS THAT WHEN I INFORMED THEM THAT THERE WERE COMPLAINTS ON-LINE AND AN ARTICLE FROM UPI INDICATING NHTSA HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, I WAS TOLD THAT WE DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. I FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL AND WE RAN INTO A PORTABLE TOW BEHIND HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION SIGN, BOUNCED OFF A GUARD RAIL AND THEN ROLLED SEVERAL TIMES DOWN THE FREEWAY EMBANKMENT ON I-20 IN TUSCALOOSA ALABAMA. NOT ONE OF THE 6 AIRBAGS IN THE VEHICLE DEPLOYED. LUCKILY MY SON AND HIS TWO DAUGHTERS ESCAPED PRACTICALLY INJURY FREE, WITH ONLY MINOR ABRASIONS, HOWEVER I TOOK A BEATING TO THE HEAD AND AM STILL OUT OF WORK 1 MONTH LATER DUE TO HEAD/CONCUSSION INJURY. NONE OF THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS, SIDE IMPACT OR FRONTAL IMPACT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I DO HAVE PICTURES OF THE TRUCK, WHICH WAS TOTALED, TO VALIDATE THIS. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE TWO FRONT AIRBAGS WHILE WATCHING THE CRASH TEST RATINGS. THE DRIVER COMPLETELY COLLAPSED THE BAG, HITTING HIS HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE PASSENGER BAG WAS ABOVE AVERAGE BUT SEEMED TOO AGGRESSIVE CAUSING THE PASSENGER TO WHIP LASH BACK TOWARDS THE SEAT.
