The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. No warning lights were illuminated. After several attempts, the vehicle restarted. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while starting the vehicle, after releasing the key fob, the vehicle stalled. The contact taped the key to the side of the vehicle to start. The contact stated that once the key fob was taped, the windows failed to roll up, the indicators failed to function as intended, the heater and A/C failed to operate as needed, and the hazard lights were inoperable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

Unknown this truck was not involved in an accident however it came close with steering /brakes the Engine Faulty Wiring Harness caused major issues it wasn’t until recently I saw a video of how to fix the problem you can view these videos online I will say Dodge is Responsible they did have buybacks this too I had No Knowledge of no recalls either however I recently address it to the dealership who sold me this truck the Service Manager told me it’s my issue not theirs they took care of it years ago this is the reason I am sending my complaint I was informed your department will look into this matter to get a resolution on this serious matter thank you. I have some photos the video would not download you can see it if you put 2012 Dodge Ram Engine Faulty Wire issues . Yes I spent $3000 for a mechanic to wire it this should had been fix by Dodge Chrysler not me and it still needs to be fix.

Fuel pump won’t shut off when car is turned off, I had to pull out fuel pump fuse because my battery kept getting drain, I’ve had difficulty starting and it’s only been a month since I bought this car,I’ve had to buy a bypass cable to temporarily fix the issue, this has happen to so many people, there should be a recall on the timp failing

Fuel pump randomly shuts down while driving. Or no start condition. Loss of cruise control hitting bumps in the road. Service 4x4, no tc, no cc, trailer lights disconnect. Dealer has recalls on other same year vehicles w same motor w same TIPM defective part. Not on truck. Warranty will not cover due to common problem. Since fuel relay is part of fuse box, will not cover part. Part alone is $2200. Dealer only. Can't get remanfactured, rebuilt, or part store item. Stuck with a truck that barely runs and almost $3000 to fix a non warranty issue. And very common.

The truck was sitting at home in the driveway (untouched) for 3 days. Suddenly smoke began to appear from under the hood and within minutes, the engine compartment burst into flames. Because of the fire, smoke and water damage, the vehicle was considered a total loss by the insurance company. The fire marshal advised that the fire started in the vicinity of the passenger side starter battery. It is thought the fire originated from the battery or the grid heater relay that is very near the passenger side battery. The fire also damaged a nearby RV that experienced smoke and heat damage. It was a very intense fire. There were no open recalls on this vehicle and no recent maintenance work performed.

TIPM failure. Vehicle fails to start ("crank, no start" or it acts likes it's out of gas) and/or fuel pump continues pumping after turning the vehicle off (draining battery).The vehicle stalls while driving which has created very unsafe conditions. There has been recalls on other dodge vehicles with same problem. This needs to be a uniform recall on all affected vehicles.

Driver warning light came for airbag, yes it could be if deployed, no dealer has confirmed (but looked up recall # 15V459000), called molar said no recall on my vehicle…., no one else looked at vehicles book says to immediately take to dealer, yes warning light on follow book info and it appeared 9/8/24

Shut off vehicle and fuel pump kept running. Tapped on Totally Integrated Power Managment module and stuck relay corrected, so the fuel pump shut off. Found a safety recall (Safety Recall R09/NHTSA 15v-115) for stuck relay in TIPM on same year Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee. A quick search of many automotive enthusiast forums indicates this issue is common in my particular year, make, and model vehicle as well. I believe this recall should be expanded to include all Dodge products using similar TIMP/Fuel Relay configurations. It is very likely this relay could have been stuck off, while driving causing an unexpected engine shutdown. In my case I was lucky it was stuck on.

Vehicle has presented multiple electrical problems which I understand is caused by the TIPM module which controls all electrical components in the vehicle. I have replaced the vehicle battery on 5 occasions over the past 5 or 6 years. One reason is the fuel pump fails to shut-off after the vehicle is turned off and continously cycles fuel until the battery is drained. Secondly, the ignition module is faulty and presents a safety risk to the vehicle occupants and the public's safety as the power to the vehicle cuts off while in operation at various level of speed to include highway speeds.The vehicle becomes disabled when it hits a road bump or while making a turn, making it hard to maneuver and may cause operator to lose control of the vehicle and crash with other vehicles, objects or people.

The dash warning light appeared referring to a possible problem with the airbags. I took vehicle to the local dealer and I was informed after their inspection that I did have a problem the passenger airbag. They said they would need to replace passenger seat airbag and wiring harness associated with that device.

Despite the persistence of this issue over several years, no official recall has been initiated to address it. Furthermore, in an attempt to mitigate the TIPM's failure and maintain continuous fuel pump operation, some individuals have resorted to unauthorized modifications, commonly referred to as "Jerry rigging," by bypassing the system with improvised wiring to maintain a constant "hot status." However, this makeshift solution introduces additional risks, including the heightened potential for serious fires due to the bypassed safety mechanisms. Given the severity of these safety concerns and the absence of a comprehensive recall, there is a pressing need for the manufacturer to take decisive action to rectify the TIPM system's deficiencies and ensure the safety of affected vehicles and their occupants.

The contact owns a 2012 Ram 1500. The contact stated when the vehicle was turned off and in park, he accidentally bumped the gear shit lever and the vehicle slipped out of park (P) without the brake pedal being depressed. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V821000 (Power Train). The contact stated that he had attempted to set numerous appointments with a local dealer but was unable to set an appointment for the vehicle. Additionally, while driving approximately 55 MPH the contact stated that he began to smell a burning plastic odor. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact observed that smoke was being emitted from the defroster vents on the top of the dash board. The contact stated that he pulled off of the roadway and shut the vehicle off. The contact stated as he exited the vehicle he observed pieces of burning melted plastic were dripping from under the dash and onto the vehicle floor carpets. The contact stated he called the fire department. The fire department arrived and extinguished the flames with a chemical fire extinguisher. The contact stated that the dash board and the right front passenger side were burned by the flames. There was extensive damage to the dashboard. The contact stated that the police also arrived but was not sure if a report had been written. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact stated that prior to the fire the contact had been smelling a burnt plastic smell when using the heater/defroster. The failure mileage was approximately 95,700. 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 liter HEMI Completely shut down turned off losing ALL power I was 9n the freeway with my kids that was the first time my power steering doesn't work at all when this happens happens about 8 to 12 times a week and to make things better if I hit a bump truck shuts down also I t'' can be driving along and all my indicator light come on everything starts beeping and my wipers go crazy it's like my truck is possessed it's unbelievably dangerous and a major inconvenience I'm late for work kids late for school

The TIPM is failing in several areas... Starter, fuel pump and passenger compartment heater. This seems to be a common problem and Ram has never been held accountable... This plastic box and wires that should cost under a hundred dollars to replace is being sold on line between $500 and $1500 The manufacturer also has a built in design flaw where the electrical auto start function is disabled if the consumer has to replace the battery. They must pay a dealer to reprogram the truck to auto start... Seems like Dodge new they would be robbing the public on both of these items...

After reconnection and reset of PCM vehicle will start. No diagnostic trouble codes are provided through OBD port. The contact owns a 2012 RAM 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 15 MPH, the electronics in the vehicle behaved erratically and the vehicle lost all motive power. After restarting the vehicle, it seemed to return to normal functionality but has since become a regular occurrence. The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the TIPM. The contact stated that the TIPM had been replaced three weeks prior. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number 14V530000 (Electrical System), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

-Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) malfunctioned while driving and randomly shut the engine off. The component is available for inspection. -The vehicle immediately loses power and power steering. At high speeds or an intersection could cause a crash. -Research online has indicated that these are known to cause issues after a period of time where the contacts wear out. -The vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. -There were no warning lamps or messages. The only other symptoms of the problem prior was an immediate shutdown of the engine after starting at random instances.

I have found on lots of other dodge vehicles made this same year have a recall on the TIPM Totally Integrated Power Module which controls the electrical system in your car. It is the black box that has power board and fuses inside. I found through internet research THAT MANY PEOPLE have said they have the same problem with their 2012 dodge ram Laramies 1500. The truck will not run. Sometimes it clicks on but I read that you CAN NOT DRIVE until it is fixed because that one piece basically controls the entire truck and it could cut off while driving and make you lose all control of vehicle. This particular year make and model SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED WITH THE OTHER DODGE RECALLS FOR THIS SAME PART. PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU RECALL THE TIPM SO I CAN GET MY TRUCK FIXED AND BE ABLE TO safely drive it again. I don't have several hundred dollars to replace this part when it should not be defective to begin with. Thanks so much please call me with any questions.

My 2012 Dodge Ram shuts off or stalls for no apparent reason. Sometimes upon starting, while going down the freeway (at freeway speeds), as well as speeds in between, This has happened with my family in the vehicle and even when we are towing our stock trailer with animals inside. This is very scary for all of us and dangerous for all those on the round around us. While we have not been involved in any accidents, its just a matter of time. There is never any warning when this happens and it not only shuts off it looses power to everything. So times it catches its self and restarts, other times we have to manually restart the engine.

My truck has completly shut off on me while driving several times. The last time my truck shut off I was in 4 wd due to snow and ice and the truck shut down I lost steering and slid sideways. It was scary. I could have been seriously injured or hurt someone else due to a crash. I know the win module is the issue because if I just barely touch the key fob while its in the ignition my truck immediately shuts off. I have talked to the dealership and they said the win module failure is a common problem.

Intermittent fault from the TIPM module. When slowing to a stop, or slowing to make a turn, the engine dies without warning resulting in loss of power steering and operability while in traffic. The only indication that the engine has died is the tachometer reads 0 RPM, loss of power steering, and the excelerator becomes inoperable. The radio, headlights, and A/C stay on during this. Coming to a complete stop and putting the truck into park (P) and turning the ignition to OFF and then restarting the truck resolves the problem, but on the highway this is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. This has been diagnosed as an intermittent fault derived from a faulty TIPM module and involves multiple RAM 1500, 2500, 3500 owners. Various issues of similar nature reported to dealerships and on forums.

I just received this truck, 2012 RAM 1500, from my uncle. Worked great for a couple of months but then started having issues with the engine stalling and losing power while driving. Then I would have issues getting it to start again. The last time I was stranded was at a friend's house and wasn't able to get it to start again. His cousin that works on cars initially determined it was a fuel pump issue because he could get it to start by spraying ethanol in the engine but wouldn't stay started. Then another friend of his inquired about the truck and he told him the issue. He knew of the known issue with the TIPM in this year/model truck which was a fuel pump relay issue. He was able to clean some contacts and got it to start again which allowed me to get it home. I did some research and it is widely known of this issue with the TIPM. There are even bypass cables you can get for a work around. I do consider this a safety issue since at any time it will stall while driving down the road including once on a highway.

Starting around 2020 when I moved to the new house and I constantly had to make a slow left turn underneath this underpass. I noticed that it would die every time. And I started noticing that it was a pattern because I have the blinker on the brake pressed and I turn the wheel the left that’s when it would die every time and I’ve had the gas pedal off I wouldn’t be giving any gas. I looked it up in several people have been having this issue since 2009 on all dodge trucks. Yes has put me in the ditch a few times I almost got hit a couple of times the probability and statistics are going to catch up and I can guarantee you I’m certain that somebody has had an accident because of this.

While operating the vehicle at highway speed the vehicle shut off causing total loss of power. This happened on a road with speeds at 55 mph. It also occured while pulling into my driveway at a low speed, and i have had 3 occurences of the vehicle power "surging" at varied speeds. I had the fuel pump replaced, which did not remedy the problem. After hearing my fuel pump running with the vehicle shut off, i did some further research and found that the TIPM (toatally integrated power module) is the culprit and has been found to cause several other electrical system issues. Loss of power in a low speed scenario, such as turning left from one roadway to an intersecting road can cause the vehicle to be stranded in the middle of the road and place the stranded vehicle in the line of incoming traffic posing a serious risk for injury or death from a "T-Bone" motor vehicle crash.

Failure of fuel pump relay on above listed 2012 Ram 1500 at 69,999 miles. Current repair requires replacement of entire TIPM module (at a cost of $1,000 to 2,000) as this relay is soldered to the circuit board deep inside the module, making it nearly impossible to cost effectively replace this critical $10.00 part. Of note, the TIPM installed in this vehicle has 10 slots (9 relays installed and 1 open slots) for "replaceable" relays under the cover. Of these replaceable relays at least 2 (blower motor and park lamp) are less critical with one empty slot available. Further a safety recall was issued in December of 2014 (Safety Recall P54/14V530 Fuel Pump Relay) for 2011 models of the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee, but no other models despite that the same or very similar designed TIPM's are used in virtually all Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep vehicles along with many VW models. If this was a SAFETY ISSUE for select 2011 models, why not the other vehicles using the same or similar TIPM's. Further experience has shown that the Chrysler fix tends to have a high failure rate also. Suggestion: Recall all vehicles with TIPM's which have soldered in Relays, for replacement with a re-designed part which allows for all the relays that can be readily replaced. Further consideration in the design of a new part should include the minimization or elimination of multiple points of failure (is a relay really necessary on a circuit?).

Wireless ignition module fails to maintain connection with key fob inserted. Looses power on highway if I hit a bump. Dealer will not address the issue. Door locks are also now not functioning. Am assuming it is the trash TIPM in this 2012 ram 1500 chrysler installed. This whole 2012 ram should be recalled totally unsafe vehicle to have my 5 year old and 5 month old in.

THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WITHOUT NOTICE EVEN WHILE DRIVING AND HAS TO BE RESTARTED IN ORDER TO MOVE AGAIN. FOR INSTANCE, I WAS DRIVING ALONG ON OR ABOUT 08/02/2021 AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF BY ITSELF WHILE I WAS DRIVING CAUSING ME TO ALMOST GET REAR ENDED. THE COMPONANT HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND FOUND FAULTY. THE OTHER SYMPTOMS ARE PROBLEMS LOCKING DOORS AND OPENING WINDOWS.

THEIR IS A RECALL ON CHRYSLER VECHICLES 2008 THROUGH 2010 THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE (WIN) MODULE ON YOUR VEHICLE MAY HAVE UNINTENTIONAL MOVEMENT OF THE FREQUENCY OPERATED BUTTON IGNITION KEY (FOBIK) FROM THE 'ON' TO THE 'ACCESSORY' POSITION WHILE DRIVING. THIS COULD CAUSE UNINTENDED ENGINE SHUT OFF AND INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. AFTER PULLING OVER AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE AND JIGGLING THE IGNITION KEY AND TURNING IGNITION KEY TO START THE VEHICLE THEN IT WILL START AND RUN NORMALLY UNTIL THE NEXT INCIDENT ACCRUES. I HAVE FOUND THAT THE IGNITION ON THESE PARTICULAR VEHICLES GO BAD FOR WHATEVER REASON AND LOSE CONTACT WHICH TURNS THE VEHICLE OFF WHILE DRIVING AT ANYTIME. POWER WINDOWS WORKED WEN THEY WANTED TO . WHILE DRIVING ALL WARNING LIGHTS WOULD FLASH ON IN THE CLUSTER LIKE I TURNED THE KEY OFF THEN ON . TRUCK KEPT RUNNING . STARTED GETTING HARD TO START . ONCE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING LIKE IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS . NOW IT DOESN'T START AT ALL . HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE TIPM . I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE RAM TRUCKS .

WITH THE COLD WEATHER, IT'S NOT CRANKING. I HAD A NEW BATTERY AND STARTER INSTALLED AND IT STILL DOESN'T CRANK UNLESS IT'S IN NEUTRAL AND I PRESS THE FUEL PEDDLE. IF IT SETS FOR TOO LONG IN COLD, I HAVE TO REPEAT THE PROCESS AND NO LONGER AM ABLE TO USE REMOTE START AND SOMETIMES HAVE TO BE JUMPED OFF.

THE FUEL PUMP RUNS CONTINUOUSLY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION. THIS CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DIE AND USUALLY LEAVES ME STRANDED. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL. THIS FEATURE IS DESIGNED TO NOT LET THE VEHICLES REAR WHEELS SPIN OUT OF RATIO, WHICH BASICALLY STOPS THE REAR TIRES FROM SPINNING OUT. HOWEVER, IT SENDS FALSE SIGNALS THAT THEY ARE IT STALLS THE VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN TBONED SEVERAL TIMES TO DUE THE TRUCK STALLING AND LEAVING ME A SITTING DUCK TO INCOMING TRAFFIC. LASTLY, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON, LEAVING ME TO BELIEVE IT'S ALSO RECEIVING FALSE SIGNALS. HOPEFULLY THEY DO NOT DEPLOY WHILE I'M DRIVING. HE TOLD ME THAT THE TIPM WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT FROM TO HAVE IT FIXED. WELL NOW SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2012 THE TRUCK KEEPS GIVING ME PROBLEMS. IT TURNS OFF LITERALLY WHILE I'M DRIVING MAKING ME LOOSE ANY STEERING OR BREAK POWER. THE HEATING SEATS HAVE STOPPED WORKING, THE TRACTION LIGHT KEEPS TURNING OFF AND ON. THE LIGHT TRAILER DISCONNECTED MESSAGE IS PERMANENTLY ON. THE SHIFTER WON'T MOVE OUTTA PARK ALMOST EVERYDAY WHEN I FIRST START THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK TURNS ON AND IMMEDIATELY SHUTTS OFF. THE REMOTE START ONLY WORKS HALF OF THE TIME. I WAS JUST INFORMED THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD IS CRACKED AND THAT THE RFRONT DIFFERENTIAL IS BAD TOO. AT THIS POINT THE TRUCK ISN'T EVEN DRIBBLE UNLESS I SPEND LIKE 5000 IN FIXING IT. WHEN KEY IS INSERTED INTO IGNITION AND TURNED TO THE START POSITION THE WIN MODULE FAILS TO MAKE A CIRCUIT INTERNALLY AND WILL NOT CRANK THE VEHICLE. I DIMMED THE HEADLIGHTS AND IT STOPPED. THE DEALER FIRST SAID THE ALTERNATOR WAS BAD, AND IT WAS ONLY CHARGING AT 12 VOLTS, SO THEY REPLACED IT, BUT THAT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. SINCE THEN I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE WIN MODULE NEEDED REPLACED ALONG WITH THE KEY FOB ($725) THAT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I CALLED CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND NEEDS A RECALL! THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE IGNITION THAT CAUSES THE VEHICLE DIE AFTER STARTING IT AFTER TRYING TO START IT REPEATEDLY IT FINALLY STAYS STARTED AND ALLOWS YOU TO DRIVE. HOWEVER THE IGNITION TURNS OFF ALSO WHILE DRIVING. YOU CAN BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR SITTING AT THE STOP SIGN OR LIGHT AND THE KEY DISENGAGES TURNING THE TRUCK OFF. IT HAPPENS WHILE TURNING A CORNER OR DRIVING STRAIGHT. I HAVE TO PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL WHILE COASTING AND TURN THE IGNITION AGAIN SOMETIMES REPEATEDLY. I DO HAVE A KEYLESS KEYFOB AND A REGULAR KEY, EVEN WHEN TRYING THE REGULAR KEY THE IGNITION WILL TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE CONTACTED DODGE 3 TIMES DIRECTLY ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME I CALLED IT HAPPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO TURN ON MY FLASHERS PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND TRIED STARTING IT THREE TIMES WITH NO BREAKS AND NO STEERING. AFTER NOT GETTING IT TO START I HAD TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER AND CONTINUE TO TRY UNTIL IT STARTED. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL AT THE TIME AND THERE IS NOTHING THE CAN DO ABOUT IT WITHOUT A RECALL. I HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATING THIS ISSUE FURTHER AND THIS IS PRETTY COMMON FOR THE TRUCKS 2009-2012. HERE IS A VIDEO I FOUND ON YOUTUBE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. TRUCK RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASH COME ON, ONCE YOU GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD YOU TURN TRUCK OFF AND RESTART IT MAY RUN FINE FOR DAYS OR A HALF MILE. THIS CAN HAPPEN GOING 65MPH DOWN THE TURNPIKE OR STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN TOWN. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK WITH 28K AND THIS ISSUE STARTED AROUND 32K. HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD "DON'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM". MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE HER AND MY SON NEARLY GOT KILLED WHEN IT SHUT OFF GOING THRU AN INTERSECTION. DURING 2014/2015 THE 2012 DODGE RAM 1500 WOULD FAIL TO START INTERMITTENTLY ESPECIALLY ON COLDER DAYS. DURING JANUARY OF 2015 THE PROBLEM BECAME MORE COMMON ON A DAILY BASIS AND WOULD TAKE 10-15 TIMES TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKE TO DODGE UNDER WARRANTY FOR REPAIR MULTIPLE TIMES AND ACCORDING TO DODGE THE STARTER WAS REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD START. AFTER OBTAINING THE VEHICLE FROM THE DODGE REPAIR SHOP THE LEFT HEAD LIGHT BEGAN TO GO ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TAKING TO THE DODGE SERVICE SHOP FOR REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. DODGE INDICATED THAT IT WAS A FAULTY TIPM AND THAT IT WAS REPLACED AND THAT THE LEFT HEADLIGHT SHOULD WORK APPROPRIATELY. AFTER OBTAINING THE TRUCK ONCE AGAIN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND RETURNED TO THE DODGE SHOP WHERE THEY INDICATED THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR WHICH WAS REPLACED. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THE DRIVER'S HEADLIGHT BEGAN TO GO ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AND SITTING STILL. THE DODGE WAS RETURNED TO THE DODGE REPAIR SHOP WHO STATED THAT THE PREVIOUS REPAIR WAS DONE UNDER WARRANTY AND SINCE THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY THEY WOULD NOT COVER ANY REPAIRS EVEN THOUGHT THEY HAVE A 24 MONTH PART POLICY FOR REPAIRS PAID FOR BY THE CUSTOMER. SUSPECTED TO BE A TIPM ISSUE.

MY TRUCK FUEL LIGHT CAME ON TRUCK SPUTTERED AND DIED IN ABOUT 30 SECONDS. LUCKILY I WAS IN A GOOD SPOT TO PULL OVER AND STOP. I LIFTED THE HOOD AND COULD SMELL WIRES BURNING. I LIFTED THE FUSE BOX LID AND SEEN THE FUSES SMOKING SO I PULLED ONE FUSE THAT WAS THE STARTER SOLENOID FUSE.I WAS ON HIGHWAY WITH LOTS OF ROCK CUTS AND HILLS. TURNS OUT TO BE THE TIPM. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY .DEALERSHIP REPLACES IT FOR APP. 1400.00 AND IT STILL NEVER FIXED PROBLEM. THEY SAY IT IS UNDER WARRANTY AND NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR ANOTHER DIAGNOSTICS . HOW MUCH IS THIS GOING TO END UP COSTING. I HAVE NO FUEL GAUGE, FRONT WINDOWS DON'T WORK , WIPERS WORK WHEN AND HOW THEY WANT, AIR CONDITIONING TURNS ON BY ITSELF, TEMPERATURE GAUGE SAYS ITS 56 DEGREES CELSIUS OUTSIDE. DOESN'T TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO FIGURE OUT THIS ONE. I THINK THIS COULD HAVE ENDED UP WORSE BUT I WAS DRIVING DOWN A HILL AND WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY ON A TRUCK PULL OFF AT THE BOTTOM. I HAVE BOUGHT 5 NEW DODGE TRUCKS OVER THE YEARS AND HAD PLANNED TO BUY MORE TILL NOW. I HOPE I CAN GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK. TRADE IT IN REAL SOON.

MY 2012 RAM 1500 HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SEVEN TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE ORIGINAL PROBLEMS WERE RELATED TO THE PCM WHICH WOULD SHORT OUT AND CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO OPERATE IN ONLY ONE GEAR. THIS PROBLEM WAS FIXED FINALLY BY REPLACING THE PCM AND VARIOUS OTHER PARTS. MY TRUCK RECENTLY HAD THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE SENSOR, RIGHT HEADLIGHT, AND FUEL PUMP CONTROL GO OUT ALL AROUND THE SAME TIME WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR MY TRUCK TO START AND WHEN IT DID START IT SOUNDED ANEMIC AND WOULD OFTEN HAVE ALERTS GOING OFF. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THAT THE TIPM WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS AND NOW I AM WONDERING IF IT IS THE ROUTE OF ALL THE OTHER PROBLEMS. THIS MOST RECENT REPAIR COST ME $1000 DOLLARS AND WELL OVER $100 IN ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS. MY TRUCK IS ONLY TWO AND A HALF YEARS OLD WITH 50K MILES ON IT. I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS NEW OF A VEHICLE. CHRYSLER AND RAM HAVE A WELL DOCUMENTED HISTORY OF RECENT PROBLEMS WITH THE TIPM ACROSS VARIOUS VEHICLES AND AN INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE CONDUCTED AND CUSTOMERS NEED TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE PROBLEMS THIS PART HAS CAUSED.

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING AND THEN THE TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON. BEFORE I COULD PULL INTO A GAS STATION THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON ME. I TURNED THE KEY AND THE CAR WOULD NOT TURNOVER. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY HOUSE FOR THE NIGHT AND THEN TO MY MECHANIC THE NEXT MORNING. HE COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND THAT'S WHEN I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. IT TOOK THEM 2-3 DAYS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. WHAT THEY FOUND WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THIS IS HOW THEY STATED IT ON THE INVOICE: 29303 NO START P0688 ASD CIRCUIT FAULT, FOUND FUSE M19 BLOWN- REPLACED AND ATTEMPTED TO START- FUSE BLEW AGAIN. TRACED ASD CIRCUIT. FOUND IGNITION COIL #5 MELTED. TESTED FURTHER, FOUND #5 SPARK PLUGS FOULED AND CIRCUIT K16 SHORTED TO GROUND. REPLACED SPARK PLUGS, IGNITION INSUFFICIENT IONIZATION FAULT SET DIA AS A PCM WITH INTERNAL DRIVER FAULT CAUSED BY SHORT, REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED PCM. THIS OF COURSE HAPPENED 5 DAYS AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED, GRANTED I DID NOT EVEN HAVE 30,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME.

I WENT TO START THE TRUCK WHILE IN PARK AFTER HAVING ALREADY DRIVEN THE TRUCK APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR PRIOR. UPON TURNING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION OF SOME KIND. SMOKE BEGAN APPEARING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE TRUCK DID NOT HAVE ANY POWER. I OPENED THE HOOD OF THE TRUCK, AND FOUND THAT THE BATTERY HAD CATASTROPHICALLY EXPLODED. TWO OF THE PLASTIC SIDEWALLS WERE COMPLETELY BLOWN OUT AND RIPPED OPEN. ON ONE SIDE THE LEAD INTERIOR COULD BE SEEN MISSHAPEN AND LEANING OUT TOWARDS THE EXPOSED SIDE. BOTH TOP CAPS WERE BLOWN CLEAR OF THE BATTERY. BATTERY ACID COVERED THE GENERAL VICINITY OF THE EXPLOSION. THE ACID ALSO RAN DOWN THROUGH THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND ONTO THE PAVEMENT.

LIGHTS OFF FOR ABOUT A COUPLE WEEKS.THEN COMES BACK ON. IM SO TRIED OF DEALING WITH THIS. AND THEN I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES WHICH GOT ROTATED LIKE THERE SUPPOSED TOO. THEY WORE OUT ON THE INSIDE. I WAS TOLD BY ONE PLACE IT NEED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT. SO I PROCEED TO GET ONE AND THEY HAD TOLD ME MY CAMBER ALIGNMENT BOLT WAS BENT AND IT NEED TO BE DEALT WITH A THE DEALER, BECAUSE IT COULD BE A DEFECT. SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE SAID THEY DID THE ALIGNMENT AND IT WAS FIXED.I HOPE SO NEVER GOT IT CHECKED AGAIN. I DONT HOLD MY BREATHE FOR THAT. THEN MY SUSPENSION LEANS TO THE RIGHTSIDE JUST A LITTLE BUT NOTHINGS WRONGS SO IM TOLD BY THE DEALER. AND MY DASH LIGHTS USED TO COME ON AND FLASH AND THE RADIO WAS OVERHEATING HAD TO GET A NEW ON. KEEP IN MIND THE WAS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD WHEN THIS ALL STARTED AND I BROUGHT BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 5 MILES ON IT FROM MY TEST DRIVE. AT ABOUT 18000 MILES ON VEHICLE IT SUDDENLY STALLED. THROTTLE BODY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, RPM DROPPED TO ALMOST ZERO. PUMPING GAS PEDAL HAD NO EFFECT. CONDITION LASTED ABOUT 15 TO 25 SECONDS. TOOK TRUCK TO DEALER AND WAS INFORMED IT NEEDED A THROTTLE BODY SOFTWARE UPDATE. THIS WAS DONE. ALSO WAS PERFORMED AGAIN LATER. THE STALLING IS INTERMITTENT SOME TIMES NOT HAPPENING FOR WEEKS THEN AGAIN IT WILL HAPPEN UP TO 3 TIMES IN A WEEK.BIT ONCE STALLED ON MY LADY AS SHE WAS CROSSING AN INTERSECTION . VEHICLE NOW HAS 77000 MILES ON ODOMETER . I THOUGHT THIS JUST A HASSLE UNTIL ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO. ON JULY 8, 2014 MY 2012 RAM 1500 CAUGHT FIRE WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AT HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS LAST OPERATED ON THE EVENING OF JULY 7, 2014. AT APPROXIMATELY NOON ON JULY 8, 2014 WHILE WORKING ON MY COMPUTER INSIDE MY HOUSE I DETECTED THE ODOR OF BURNING PLASTIC. I ASSUME IT WAS INITIALLY ORIGINATING FROM INSIDE MY HOUSE. CHRYSLER ARRANGED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED ON JULY 12, 2014 TO THE JEFF D' AMBROSIO DEALERSHIP WHERE A REPRESENTATIVE FROM CHRYSLER WAS TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THAT INSPECTION TOOK PLACE ON TUESDAY, JULY 15TH. THE ORIGIN OF THE FIRE ACCORDING TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY FIRE INVESTIGATOR ORIGINATED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR PANEL AND RESULTED IN TOTAL DAMAGES OF $23,000 WHICH THE INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. MAY 10TH AT 6:30AM I GOT UP AND STARTED MY TRUCK AND ONCE AGAIN THE PASSENGER SIDE HIGH AND LOW BEAM LIGHT WAS OUT.
