Bracket for fuel tank straps broke, causing gas tank to fall during operation without any warning,it could of caused a fire or explosion causing harm to driver and others or death.My local service center confirmed the problem and repaired the bracket and secured the gas tank back into place with new straps.This happened on our about [XXX] about [XXX].Friday (Rush Hour)!! I was at Walmart when I saw the problem returning to my truck.I went to the auto service center to buy some cargo straps to secure the gas tank back into place so it was safe to drive,the service manager was shocked! Thank God that I saw the problem and secured the gas tank!!! I was a mechanic and service manager earlier in life.I called a local Ram Dealer Ganley in Bedford Ohio and found out that this problem had a extended warranty on it that expired 4 or 5 days ago.[XXX].I never received any information of this from the Dealer I bought it from or the manufacturer, I could of been Killed and others due to the neglect of the Dealer and Manufacturer,Buyers of Columbus,Ohio and Fiat, Chrysler ! On my way home. Going through in town (slow)traffic all of sudden I notice I had no power steering & no brakes, no please pull out , I noticed if I keep my rpm about 1500, I would get a little power steering & brakes back!, 4 miles to get home , I drove home slowly What happened was I lost my serpentine belt tensioner!!! .MY MAIN Purpose, for my truck is to toe my fifth wheel RV!!, I live in the north west of US, LIKE! in the mountains!! Terrified that it won’t happen again!😳☹️
Front frame bracket on gas tank has rotted out. There is a recall on this already for other 2012 ram 1500 vehicles. Nhtsa 18v-160 frame bracket
As a number of customers have complained about i have a 2012 RAM and I have the tick on the right side.why is there no recall on this problem , it's in the dealership know going to cost over 1,000 to fix something should be done about this thay won't have to worry about selling me another one
When using iPhone through Bluetooth connect it stops working and then freezes. You have to shut the vehicle off wait for a few minutes and then turn vehicle back on. When I say it freezes it makes the whole radio unusable.
Gas tank sagging loosely, strap is not supporting tank.
My 2012 Dodge Ram shuts off or stalls for no apparent reason. Sometimes upon starting, while going down the freeway (at freeway speeds), as well as speeds in between, This has happened with my family in the vehicle and even when we are towing our stock trailer with animals inside. This is very scary for all of us and dangerous for all those on the round around us. While we have not been involved in any accidents, its just a matter of time. There is never any warning when this happens and it not only shuts off it looses power to everything. So times it catches its self and restarts, other times we have to manually restart the engine.
I'm currently having the Recall no.18V160000 problem on my 2012 ram 1500 slt 4.7 but since the vin number on my truck doesn't show this recall, the dealer doesn't want to fix it. My truck currently has the front fuel tank strap frame "T-Slot" bracket broken.
Malfunction of electronic stability control while in 4x4 driving in heavy snow. Almost hit a light pole, could have caused significant harm. Unknown. No. No precursors. Hit a pot hole while on the on ramp unloading the suspension and the truck started to yaw clockwise. Applied throttle to have front end pull truck straight. ESC applied brakes and chopped power inducing a significant yaw rate counterclockwise driving the rear of the truck into the hard snow bank perpendicular to vehicle travel. Another excessive clockwise yaw occurred at this time. NO throttle control and brakes unresponsive. 1. Had the driver been allowed to retain throttle control upon initial yaw this was easily recoverable. 2. Anti-lock brakes, needed to be disabled so the truck could slide across the snow and not into the ditch when the second clockwise yaw started. 3. This caused minor body damage to the vehicle.
Engine ticking heavily and diminishes some when engine warms up. Vehicle dies randomly while driving and loss of power steering and assisted breaking. Almost had an accident while turning a corner and vehicle died.
Shifter slips out of gear unexpectedly at times (eg. drive to neutral) while driving and without cause. Unable to place it in park at times as well. We attempted to fix the problem, but a necessary part (gearshift cable) is discontinued and cannot be located anywhere. The truck is not safe and cannot pass a safety inspection and cannot be repaired.

THEY WERE SELLING THE REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY AT $22.70 SO THAT PEOPLE COULD QUICKLY MAKE THE REPAIR. RECALL? NO. SOMEWHERE I LEARNED THAT SEVERAL YEAR MODELS WERE AFFECTED, INCLUDING MY OTHER VEHICLE, A 2014 DODGE RAM EXPRESS. SO I BOUGHT ANOTHER REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY TO INSTALL ON IT. I ASKED IF THEY WOULD COVER THE COST. HE SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME, BUT NEVER DID. A FEW WEEKS LATER, I OPENED THE GLOVE BOX OF THE 2012 TRUCK AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS RUST ON SOME OF MY PAPERS. I LOOKED UP INTO THE GLOVE BOX AND SAW RUSTED WIRES. I THINK THE WATER DRAINED FROM THE TOP OF THE CAB INTO THE FRONT OF THE FIREWALL AND SOAKED THE CIRCUITRY. CRUISE CONTROL, MY PASSENGER WINDOW, OTHER THINGS DON'T FUNCTION PROPERLY AT ALL TIMES. REPLACEMENT OF THE EVAPORATOR COIL, NEW FREON, HEATER CORE (WAS SUGGESTED TO REPLACE DUE TO THE ACCESS AND EASE TO REPLACE AN ITEM THAT WOULD GO OUT NEXT MOST LIKELY) AND THE VALVE - A/C. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THERE IS NO RECALL. TOTAL COST WAS JUST UNDER $2100.

NHTSA #17V-821 THE RAM SERVICE CENTERS ARE STATING THAT DODGE HAS NOT SENT OUT THE PARTS AND COMPUTER UPDATE TO FIX THE RECALL. I CALLED DODGE AND THEY SAID AROUND AUGUST 2018 BUT THAT CAN CHANGE. THE SERVICE CENTER RECEIVED UPDATES ON THE 2018 AND 2017 MODELS BUT NOTHING ON THE LATER MODELS. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS RECALL NOT BEING COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER WHICH COULD RESULT IN A DEATH IF TRUCK COMES OUT OF GEAR AND ROLLS. I HAVE BEEN CALLING EVERY MONTH SINCE RECALL ISSUED BUT STILL UNABLE TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED IN A TIMELY MANNER.

MECHANICS SAY THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE HOWEVER THE TICKING IS RIDICULOUSLY ANNOYING. READ THAT IT MAY BE EXHAUST LEAK HOWEVER, NOTHING CAN BE FOUND THAT NEEDS REPAIR. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR NOW.

THE TRUCK STALLS WHEN SLOWING FOR A STOP OR IDLING AROUND A CORNER. THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE STEERING AND BRAKES ARE LOCKED UP AT THAT POINT. WHETHER IT'S IDLING IN A TRAFFIC JAM, COMING TO A STOP, OR IDLING AROUND THE CORNER, YOU WILL SUDDENLY HAVE NO POWER BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS ON. NOT THE ENGINE AND IT WAS SO SMOOTH THAT YOU DON'T NOTICE UNTIL YOU CAN'T BRAKE OR STEER. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATION BUT IT WAS CLOSED WITHOUT RESOLUTION. CASE NUMBER EA05018. THIS IS A GROWING PROBLEM AND WE THE PEOPLE ARE SPENDING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE PARTS THAT ARE JUST PART OF A TROUBLE SHOOTING ISSUE AND MOST OF US STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. AND IT'S THE SAME FOR ALL OF US. PLEASE RELOOK AT THIS PROBLEM. IF I WERE THE ONLY ONE I COULD UNDERSTAND BUT I AM NOT. WE LOVE OUR TRUCKS BUT THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. COM UNDER 2005 DODGE RAM 1500 STALLS/SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING, YOU WILL SEE THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND THERE ARE LOADS OF PEOPLE. THEY THINK THE REPAIR FIXES BUT IT DOES NOT AND THE ISSUE DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. IT STARTED OCCASIONALLY BUT NOW IT'S ALMOST DAILY AND MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. THE TRUCK AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MULTIPLE REPAIR SHOPS AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM SINCE IT IS DIFFULT TO PINPOINT WHEN IT WILL OCCUR TO SHOW WHAT THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY DOING. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE MULTIPLE PARTS TO HELP RESOLVE THE ISSUE TO INCLUDE A NEW STARTER FROM CONSTANT RESTARTING IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION WHILE VEHICLE IS STILL IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE IS ALWAYS IN MOTION WHEN IT RANDOMLY STALLS COMING TO A SLOW, IDLE OR A TURN ESPECIALLY.

IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE IN SOCIAL MEDIAL (YOUTUBE HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=DQMULP2SLWO&T=790S) THAT THE 2011-2016 DODGE RAM 1500 WILL EXPERIENCE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT BREAKAGE DUE TO THE CAST IRON EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND THE ALUMINUM HEADS HAVING DIFFERENT HEAT DISPLACEMENT. THE HEAT CONDUCTED BY THE CAST IRON EXHAUST MANIFOLD WILL EVENTUALLY WEAKEN THE BOLTS CAUSING THEM TO BREAK. THE FACT THAT DODGE HAS NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM IS POSING CONSUMERS TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO HAVE THESE BROKEN BOLTS EXTRACTED FROM THE ALUMINUM HEADS. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A CLAIM SO THAT THIS ISSUE MAY BE BROUGHT UP FOR FUTURE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS. I LOOK FORWARD TO DISCUSSING THE MATTER IN FURTHER DETAIL.
2012 DODGE RAM 1500 WAS IN AN ACCIDENT SUSTAINING MODERATE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. SPEED LIMIT AT THE TIME OF IMPACT IS ESTIMATED TO BE OVER 10 MPH AND THE AIRBAGS DIDNT DEPLOY NOR ARE THERE ANY WARNINGS LIGHTS. BASED ON THE LOCATION OF THE DAMAGES AND THE FRAME SHIFTED, SHOULDNT THE AIRBAGS HAVE DEPLOYED?
THE WIN MOD HAS AN OPEN CIRCUIT ON IT. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AND IF IT IS STARTED STALLS OUT. I CAN BE AT A STOP OR IN MOTION AND LOOSE ALL POWER TO VEHICLE. TRUCK RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASH COME ON, ONCE YOU GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD YOU TURN TRUCK OFF AND RESTART IT MAY RUN FINE FOR DAYS OR A HALF MILE. THIS CAN HAPPEN GOING 65MPH DOWN THE TURNPIKE OR STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN TOWN. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK WITH 28K AND THIS ISSUE STARTED AROUND 32K. HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD "DON'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM". MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE HER AND MY SON NEARLY GOT KILLED WHEN IT SHUT OFF GOING THRU AN INTERSECTION. I HAVE READ UP ON THIS ON MANY FORUMS AND THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. YOU IN FACT HAD DONE A RECALL CAMPAIGN # PE05027 BACK IN 05. THERE ARE OTHER MODELS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. IS GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE LOOSING THEIR LIFE FOR THIS TO GET CORRECTED. MAKE A PAYMENT OF 400.00 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR A TRUCK THAT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE. NO VISIBLE ICING ON WINDOW WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PUT IT DOWN. THE OTHER 3 WINDOWS ON THE TRUCK WORK FINE AND DO NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE, JUST THE DRIVER WINDOW. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES EACH WINTER SINCE OWNING THE TRUCK.

I HAVE A MAJOR CONCERN WITH CONTROLLING MY DODGE PICKUP. WHILE TOWING A RECREATIONAL VEHICLE, I HIT A BUMP ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I ATTRIBUTED IT TO THE SWAYING OF THE TRAILER. BUT NOW BEING VERY SENSITIVE TO THE EVENT, 1) I'VE RECALLED THAT IT HAS HAPPENED PRIOR TO PULLING THE TRAILER AND 2) RECENTLY HAPPENED AGAIN; ALSO NOT TOWING A TRAILER. THE FEELING IS THOUGH ONCE THE BUMP IS IMPACTED, THERE IS AN IMMEDIATE VIBRATION THROUGH THE STEERING ARM AND MOST IMPORTANTLY AN IMMEDIATE FEELING OF LOSS OF CONTROL. WHEN TOWING THE TRAILER, I WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY ROUNDING A CURVE JUST APPROACH A BRIDGE/GUARD RAILS WHEN I HIT THE BUMP. FOLLOW-ON INCIDENT OCCURRED IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. WHILE THE SPEED WAS SLOWER ON THE CITY STREET, THE MOMENTARY LOSS OF CONTROL FEELING WAS NOTICEABLE ENOUGH TO CATCH MY ATTENTION AND CAUSED CONCERN.

NOW EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, AS IT SHIFTS GEARS IT CLONKS INTO GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ALWAYS SHIFT PROPERLY. IT STAYS IN A GEAR LONGER THAN IT SHOULD. YOU CAN HEAR THE GEARS NOT PROPERLY SHIFTING. THE BRAKES ON THE TRUCK DONT SEEM TO STOP FAST ENOUGH. TAKING TRUCK IN FOR THAT NEXT WEEK.

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING AND THEN THE TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON. BEFORE I COULD PULL INTO A GAS STATION THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON ME. I TURNED THE KEY AND THE CAR WOULD NOT TURNOVER. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY HOUSE FOR THE NIGHT AND THEN TO MY MECHANIC THE NEXT MORNING. HE COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND THAT'S WHEN I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. IT TOOK THEM 2-3 DAYS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. WHAT THEY FOUND WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THIS IS HOW THEY STATED IT ON THE INVOICE: 29303 NO START P0688 ASD CIRCUIT FAULT, FOUND FUSE M19 BLOWN- REPLACED AND ATTEMPTED TO START- FUSE BLEW AGAIN. TRACED ASD CIRCUIT. FOUND IGNITION COIL #5 MELTED. TESTED FURTHER, FOUND #5 SPARK PLUGS FOULED AND CIRCUIT K16 SHORTED TO GROUND. REPLACED SPARK PLUGS, IGNITION INSUFFICIENT IONIZATION FAULT SET DIA AS A PCM WITH INTERNAL DRIVER FAULT CAUSED BY SHORT, REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED PCM. THIS OF COURSE HAPPENED 5 DAYS AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED, GRANTED I DID NOT EVEN HAVE 30,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME.

NOW THE ENGINE HAS NEVER BEEN EVEN CLOSE TO AS GOPD AS IT WAS.. 2 NOW THE TRASMISSION IS GETTING BAD IT DOESNT SHIFT RIGHT AT ALL P.S. THAT WAS THE SECOND TIME THEY SCREWED UP THE ENGINE. I THOUGHT I WAS BUYING A RELIABLE VEHICLE!!! NOW WHAT DO I DO MY TRUCK HAS BARELY 11000 MILES ON IT!!!!!!!HELP
