The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 19V347000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) and 17V821000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that while moving the gear shifter out of park(P), the gear was stuck in park(P). The contact opened the door and rocked the vehicle back and forth, then closed the door and moved the gear shifter out of park(P). The contact moved the gear shift lever. A dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that the vehicle was part of the inheritance his father left. The contact's father had experienced the same failure. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, after the vehicle was started, the power steering failed to function as intended and locked up, and the contact was unable to maneuver the steering wheel. The contact used force to move the steering wheel. The message "check the steering" was displayed on the dashboard. Most recently, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact used force to maneuver the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the electrical system inside the rack and pinion had failed. The contact was informed that the entire steering system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer referred the contact to another local dealer and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

Failure of all steering wheel controls. with random cruise control suddenly activating ...transmission gear control self activation (will drop into lower gear causing driver to fly forward and vehicle behind to take evasive action). radio changes channels by itself. i found info that lead me to believe it was a clock spring issue. was taken to dealer. they diagnosed it as a steering wheel harness that had all the wires pulled out of the plug..800 to repair a 20 dollar wire harness... next drive after repair. buttons all worked again but radio still changing channels..cruise intermittent..gear dropping by itself still..almost rear ended again..back to dealer just to get told they could not do anything for a couple weeks..they are lucky this was not in inter on ice.... original symptoms could not change the display..stuck on tire pressure screen.. no phone control. no radio control. no cruise control , no gear shift control..but things would change on their own.. back at dealer again for further investigation

The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, there was an abnormal loud clunking sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact then noticed that the gear shifter had moved from drive(D) to manual(M), and the gear reader indicated that the transmission was in 4th gear. The contact stated that he pulled to the side of the road, turned off and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that he was able to shift into drive(D) and drove to the residence. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to AutoZone, where it was diagnosed that the transmission solenoid had failed. The dealer was notified of the failure and charged a fee for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 252,486.

Hello, I'm filing a complaint against the Dothan, AL Ram dealership due to recalls that were never performed. I bought the truck on 7/12/2021 from a third party. I noticed this particular Ram had 12 recalls so I took it in to the Dothan, AL Dodge dealership to have them repaired. They had the truck for 2 weeks and nothing was repaired. Nothing at all. I lost 2 back pack blowers because of the faulty tailgate latch. I had to take the tailgate from my 02 Ram off and put it on the 2013. That's just one incident, there are quite a few and I've spent countless amount of money and time fixing this truck because of the recalls that were never performed. I need an Inspector to see this, it's ridiculous. When I took the truck in for the recalls it had 101,000 miles, a cold air intake, and different features. When I got the truck back it had 114000 miles, the cold air intake was gone, the Vin plate was replaced with a sticker and it had different features. The GM convinced me I was hallucinating. I'm a disabled adult and was taken for a fool and discriminated against. I am going to have to find a lawyer.

Vehicle has been serviced 2 times by Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of Eugene address 2121 Martin Luther King Jr. BLVD. Eugene OR 97401 (541)686-2255 Last service date Oct. 2nd 2023 in which the following services were performed; Engine system repair, injector-fuel, cleared codes, Pin fit issues with master switch repaired pin issues. Vehicle serviced 1 time by Goodyear location 164 W 7th AVE Eugene OR 97401 (541)343-2501 service date Oct. 5th 2023 following service was performed; Replace Resistor Spark Plug, Spark plug- Iridium OE Exact plug, R&R Spark plugs, R&R spark plugs Ignition Coil set, Intake manifold set, cleared codes. Ongoing issues; unresolved by services performed 1.Check engine light 2.Airbag light 3.Hot temp light 4.Power train light 5.Parking brake does not work properly and will roll if not parked on a level surface 6.Master switch driver control will stop working unless I pop it out of the control panel disconnect it and reconnect it. 7.Defrost does not work properly in which makes it hard to see when driving and there is moisture building inside the cabin creating mold which is a health concern. 8.Vehicle will switch into different gears while driving when brake pedal has not been applied or used. 9.Vehicle sometimes shakes and stalls in drive and reverse.

Truck will stall out pulling out in traffic with no signs of a problem. It happened to me today with my kid in the truck. This is unacceptable. This trucks are to expensive to have this. It also will surge and try to go without foot on gas. This is totally unsafe. Dodge needs to fix this.
Issues with pcm, emc, tps. After 98,000 miles everything started not reading correct and giving false check engine light. I bought truck two years ago and it’s hard to believe dealership didn’t no. 2013 ram trucks need to be pulled off market. Nobody can tell you what’s wrong. The truck starts when it wants to. Hits the gas when it wants to. Them machines say no code no problem. If the code that originally popped up said computer not receiving info. Then of course you can’t read problems.
The vehicle rolls away while still in park and showing it’s in park. No one was in the vehicle. All passengers had exited and was in a building.
Air bag light came up. Headed to nearest mechanic he said there was a recall on airbags for this type of vehicle. Made an appointment on dealer. On my way engine light came up and vehicle started shaking
Noticed tick noise coming from my HEMI engine upon starting. Took to mechanic who verified there are multiple broken bolts on both sidesof exhaust manifolds creating dangerous exhaust conditions. Reading that there have been multiple complaints on the Ram 1500 Hemi models in this time frame for same complaint. Only have 85K miles on this 2013 model., A recall should be considered and this should be covered cost by manufacturer.
I was driving down the road on 222 near Lancaster pennsylvania when without any warning lights or noise or any form of warning my rear differential locked up while I was driving. It snapped my drivshaft off the flange that attaches it to the differential.
I EXITED MY TRUCK IN DRIVEWAY GOT OUT LOOKED IT AND IT ROLLED BACK AT LEAST TWO FEET ALMOST RAN OVER MY FOOT IT'S DONE IT MORE THAN ONCE NOW IT WAS IN PARK AND WAS OUT OF VEHICLE VERY UNSAFE

EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOTLS BREAKING. DEALER FIXED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY, NOW ITS BACK AGAIN. THIS IS A CONTINUAL PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY COMMON AMOUNG THE HEMI TRUCKS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

MY 2013 RAM HAS A CONSTANT VIBRATION WHICH STARTS AT AROUND 40MPH AND CONTINUES ALL THE WAY UP TO 75+ MPH. I'VE REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES 3 TIMES. THE LAST SET ARE MICHELIN. ON ALL 3 SETS OF NEW TIRES I HAD THEM BALANCED A TOTAL OF OVER 15 TIMES. HAD ROAD FORCE TESTING DONE ON THE NEWEST SET 5 TIMES. I STILL FEEL THE VIBRATION. I BOUGHT THE TIRES AND HAD THEM ROAD FORCE BALANCED BY A NATIONAL TIRE CHAIN. THEN I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A LOCAL DODGE DEALER/SERVICE CENTER. THEY ROAD FORCE BALANCED THE TIRES TWICE AND TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WASN'T THE TIRES OR RIMS. THEN I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE STORE WHERE I BOUGH THE TIRES, THEY ROAD FORCE BALANCED THEM AGAIN AND STILL I FEEL THE VIBRATION. THE SERVICE MANAGERS AT BOTH LOCATIONS SAID THAT THEY PERSONALLY DROVE THE TRUCK FOR A ROAD TEST AND THEY BOTH SAID THEY COULDN'T FEEL THE VIBRATION. BELIEVE ME, IT REALLY SHAKES. IT'S ANNOYING AND I'M SURE IT'S NOT GOOD FOR THE TRUCK OVERALL. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 122,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN VIBRATING FOR ABOUT 100,000 MILES. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW AND PURCHASED THE UNLIMITED WARRANTY. UNLIMITED. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE DODGE WARRANTY, SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE DEALER WOULDN'T GET TO THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM. I REALLY LIKE THE TRUCK, BUT THIS VIBRATION PROBLEM IS MAKING ME VERY ANGRY. IS THERE A RECALL THAT ADDRESSES THIS PROBLEM? IF NOT, WHAT SHOULD MY NEXT STEP BE? MY TRUCK FAILED THE STATE INSPECTION BECAUSE 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD BROKEN OFF AND WERE INSIDE THE CYLINDER HEAD WITH NO WAY TO GET THEM OUT. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO A MECHANIC UPON DISCOVERING HOW DEEP THEY HAD BROKEN OFF WITH NO SUCCESS AT REMOVING THE FIRST ONE AND THE MECHANIC WAS ALSO UNABLE TO REMOVE THEM. THEY HAVE NOW BEEN DRILLED OUT BY THE MECHANIC WHICH CREATED A COOLANT LEAK OUT OF ONE OF THE BOLT HOLES AND IT LOOKS LIKE I'LL NEED A NEW CYLINDER HEAD. I'VE READ IT'S A COMMON ISSUE AND NOW I'M EXPECTING THE DRIVERS SIDE TO DO THE SAME ANY TIME IF THEY AREN'T BROKEN ALREADY.

AS SOON AS I START THE ENGINE, A LOUD TICKING NOISE IS COMING FROM THE ENGINE. AFTER INSPECTING IT, I HAVE BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT THAT CAUSES EXHAUST TO EXIT AT THE HEAD. THE EXHAUST ESCAPES BEFORE IT REACHES THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THE MUFFLER THUS CAUSING THE LOUD NOISE. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE RAM HEMI ENGINES. IT IS COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "HEMI TICK". ALTHOUGH THIS HAS BEEN A WIDELY KNOWN ISSUE, RAM HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL.

I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY BEHIND 2 PARKED CARS. I STOPPED AND PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE TRUCK REVVED UP AND WENT FORWARD, I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE TRUCK, BUT THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE TRUCK FROM RUNNING INTO THE 2 CARS. AS I KEPT PRESSING THE BRAKE THE TRUCK'S ENGINE WAS REVVING AND THE TIRES WERE BURNING RUBBER, I KEPT PRESSING THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP IT WAS OUT OF CONTROL. THE TRUCK RAMMED INTO BOTH CARS PUSHING ONE OF THEM INTO THE SIDE OF THE NEIGHBOR'S YARD. ALL THIS HAPPENED WHILE THE TRUCK WAS IN PARK. I PULLED BACK TO REVERSE SO I COULD GET OFF THE CAR AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE TRUCK CONTINUED REVVING THIS TIME GOING IN REVERSE, AGAIN I KEPT PRESSING THE BRAKE, BUT THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP IT WAS OUT OF CONTROL. IT WENT IN A HALF CIRCLE GOING INTO THE NEIGHBOR'S FRONT YARD KNOCKING DOWN A 6 INCH WALL, SOME BUSHES AND RUNNING INTO A TREE. THE TRUCK STOPPED AND TURNED OFF BY ITSELF AFTER HITTING THE WALL, THE BUSHES AND THE TREE. THIS INCIDENT CAUSED A LOT OF DAMAGE AND TOTALING ONE OF THE CARS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE TRUCK TO GO FORWARD WHILE IN PARK, THE BRAKES NOT TO WORK AND THE ENGINE REVVING UP. I BELIEVE THE PARTS AFFECTED ARE THE BRAKES, THE POWER TRAIN AND SPEED CONTROL.

I HAVE A DODGE RAM 15000 CREW CAB LARAMIE. BOTH TAIL LIGHTS ARE MALFUNCTIONING IN THE BLINKERS. WHEN I TURN THE BLINKER ON IT BLINKS REALLY FAST AND SAYS THE TAIL LIGHTS ARE BAD AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE LIGHTS IN THE BACK ARE HALF OUT WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. I DID SEE THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT FOR MY VIN THERE IS NOT. SO IT APPEARS ALL 2013S SEEM TO BE AFFECTED. I ALSO HAVE A TICKING NOISE IN MY ENGINE WHEN I START THE VEHICLE. IT LESSENS AS THE CAR WARMS UP. I NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL IN 2012 FOR BAD EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. I BELIEVE THIS IS STILL OCCURRING ON THESE VEHICLES. I HAVE NOT REPAIRED EITHER OF THE ITEMS ON MY TRUCK BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT IS JUST MALFUNCTIONING. I DON'T RECALL HOW LONG ITS BEEN OCCURRING BUT AT LEAST FOR OVER A YEAR.

WHEN DRIVING GOING OVER PASS OR INCLINE TRUCKS STARTS TO SHAKE LIKE ITS GOING TO EXPLODE. NOW IT IS STARTING TO JUST DIE AND TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING OR AT A STOP SIGN.

"BRAKE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK" I RECENTLY RECEIVED MY LATEST RECALL (THIS RECALL MAKES 4 IN TOTAL SINCE INITIAL PURCHASE OF MY 2013 RAM 1500). THIS LATEST RECALL IS T79, AND THE PREVIOUS 3 WERE: T25; R36; R23 ALL RECALLS ARE DUE TO SAFETY RELATED ISSUES ON MY RAM. I RECEIVED RECALL T79 IN EARLY FEBRUARY 2018, AND AS OF TODAY 03/21/18, PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AT MY LOCAL FCA DEALERSHIP TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE. FOR THIS REASON MY TRUCK STAYS PARKED AND ONLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 14,800 MILES, AND MY RESALE VALUE HAS GREATLY BEEN DEVALUED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER SHOP WHERE THEY INSPECTED THE DRIVE SHAFT AND STATED IT MAY BE WARPED BUT IT HAS NOT HAD AN IMPACT OF ANY TYPE. I TRIED TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY STATED THAT MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY WHEN I HAVE ONLY HAD I PURCHASED IT NEW 30 MONTHS AGO AND IT ONLY HAD 25,600 MILES ON IT WHEN I TOOK IT IN UNDER MY 36 MONTH, 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. THEY ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO FIX IT FOR A HUGE FEE, BUT NOT UNDER WARRANTY. MANY TIMES JUST PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT HAS CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED AS HAS THE SHIFTER KNOB. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES AND CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN HELPFUL IN TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT AND HAS VERIFIED THE PROBLEM EXISTS. AS THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIX IT THEY HAVE BEEN RELYING ON CHRYSLER TECHNICAL ASSIST (STAR CASE). CHRYSLER'S LAST RESPONSE WAS THE BRAKE SHOULD ALWAYS BE FIRMLY PRESSED WHILE SHIFTING "THIS IS A BUILT IN SAFETY FEATURE AND NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION"???. HOW CAN A 6000LB TRUCK ROLLING BACKWARDS WITH THE DRIVER EXPECTING IT TO GO FORWARDS BE "NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION"? I HAVE GONE FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND THE "D" LIGHT WILL FLASH. WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER THEY TRIED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM TO INCLUDE RESETTING THE COMPUTER. OVER TIME I WOULD LOSE MY POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. FORTUNATELY I WAS GOING INTO A PARKING AREA WHEN I LOST THE POWER BRAKES OTHERWISE I'M SURE I WOULD HAVE CRASHED SINCE I DID NOT EXPECT THE CHANGE. AS OF LATE THE TRUCK WILL NOT START OR THE RADIO WON'T GO OFF. CHRYSLER HAS REALLY DONE NOTHING TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM AND MAYBE I WILL NEED TO CRASH FIRST BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE OR RUN OVER SOMEONE WHEN I LOSE MY BRAKES. THEY INFORMED ME THAT SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT ME WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS.MY MAIN CONCERN IS RELATED TO THE TOXICITY OF THIS SMELL. WHAT IS CAUSING IT AND ARE THE VAPORS HARMFUL? I WOULD APPLY THE ACCELERATOR AND THE RPM'S WOULD INCREASE UPWARDS TO 2500 - 3500RPMS WHICH SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AT SUCH LOW SPEEDS. ACCORDING TO THE TECHNICIAN, THE TRANSFER CASE WAS NOISY AND LOCKING UP, THE TRANSMISSION WAS ALSO NOISY AND NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. HE ALSO STATED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS MAKING A HOWLING NOISE AND HAD EXTENSIVE VIBRATION. THE TECHNICIAN BELIEVED THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WAS CAUSED BY SOME TYPE OF GEAR FAILURE. THE BROKEN AXLE SHOWED STRESS FRACTURES/CRACKS DUE TO POSSIBLE METAL FATIGUE. THE DEALER STATED THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WAS CAUSED BY THE DRIVER.

AFTER DRIVING ON SNOW AND SLUSHY ROADS I COULDN'T GET THE VEHICLE TO SHIFT INTO THE REVERSE OR PARK POSITION. I COULDN'T EVEN MOVE THE SELECTOR INTO THOSE POSITIONS. *TR

THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME IN THE TWO WEEKS I OWNED THIS RAM 1500 TRUCK AFTER PURCHASING IT NEW THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCE A FAILURE OF THE TORQUEFLITE 8 SPD TRANSMISSION AND/OR ELECTRONIC ROTARY SHIFTER. A WEEK EARLIER I REPORTED TO RAM AND TO NHTSA A REPEATED FAILURE OF THIS TRUCK ON A BOAT RAMP TO ENGAGE IN PARK EVEN WITH THE ENGINE OFF AS THE TRUCK WAS "SLOW ROLLING" DOWN THE RAMP. THIS TIME I WAS ABLE TO DOCUMENT THE FAILURE BY VIDEO ON MY CELL PHONE. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 30 MPH ON A SIDE STREET IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE. I SLOWED THE TRUCK TO A ROUTINE STOP AT A STOP SIGN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. WHEN I THEN TRIED TO PULL ONTO THE INTERSECTING HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED AS EXPECTED WHEN I TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT THE TRUCK WOULD NOT MOVE, ACTING AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL, EVEN THOUGH I HAD NOT TOUCHED THE ROTARY SHIFTER ON THE DASH NOR ANY OF THE 2WD/4WD OPTION BUTTONS. THERE WAS NOT ANY PERCEPTIBLE SOUND OR FEEL INDICATING THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD "POPPED" OUT OF GEAR. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE "D" LIGHT ON THE SHIFTER WAS ODDLY FLASHING ON/OFF WHILE THE 2WD LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED SOLID AS EXPECTED. I TRIED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TWO MORE TIMES WITH NO CHANGE. AFTER WHIPPING OUT MY CELL PHONE TO VIDEO THIS FAILURE I WAS ABLE TO RESET THE DRIVE ENGAGEMENT BY MOVING THE SHIFTER TO PARK FOR 2 OR 3 SECONDS AND THEN BACK TO "D". THE TRUCK THEN RESPONDED NORMALLY AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, THEN BACK INTO DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN 1,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,300.

ON A STEEP GRADE (BOAT RAMP WITH AN EMPTY 700 LB TRAILER IN TOW) WHILE BACKING IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE WITH THE VEHICLE FRONT FACING UP HILL I PLACED THE TORQUEFLITE 8 SPEED ELECTRONIC DIAL TRANSMISSION ON MY 4X4 TRUCK INTO PARK, SET THE PARKING BRAKE, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, LET MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, AND THE TRUCK STARTED SLOW ROLLING (CREEPING) DOWN THE STEEP GRADE. I THEN STARTED THE TRUCK AND PULLED UP THE GRADE 2 FEET AND PERFORMED THE SAME OPERATION AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULTS. I THEN SWITCHED FROM 2 WHEEL DRIVE TO 4 WHEEL LOCK, PUT THE DIAL TO PARK, SET THE PARKING BRAKE, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND AFTER ABOUT 45 SECONDS THE TRUCK ONCE AGAIN STARTING SLOW ROLLING DOWN THE HILL AND WOULD HAVE ROLLED INTO THE RIVER HAD I NOT JUMPED IN AND HIT THE FOOT BRAKE. THE LAST TIME IT WAS ROLLING I COULD SEE BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR WHEELS ROLLING AND NOT SLIDING. IT APPEARS THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEVER ACTUALLY SHIFTED TO THE PARK POSITION EVEN THOUGH THE DIAL AND DASH LIGHT INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK. *TR

IT HAS SNOWED HARD ENOUGH HERE IN VIRGINIA THIS YEAR TO LEAVE SNOW ON THE ROADS. THREE TIMES NOW SINCE BUYING MY 2013 RAM 1500 WITH PENTASTAR ENGINE IN DECEMBER 2012 I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK AND REMOVE THE KEY. THE DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT HELP ME. IT SOUNDS RIDICULES TO SAY THAT "WHEN IT SNOWS I CAN?T DRIVE MY FULL SIZE RAM 1500 THAT SHOULD BE FULLY CAPABLE IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS". AS I UNDERSTAND IT WHEN DRIVING IN SNOW OR SLUSH SNOW IS THROWN AT THE TRANSMISSION, THIS RESULTS IN SNOW PACKING AROUND THE SHIFT LINKAGE. THE RESULT IS VERY CLEAR, YOU CAN?T PUT YOUR TRUCK IN PARK AND REMOVE THE KEY. IF YOU DON?T HAVE THE EQUIPMENT OR ABILITY TO CRAWL UNDER YOUR TRUCK AND MELT THE SNOW THEN THE ONLY OTHER CHOICE IS TO SIT THERE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING UNTIL THE SNOW MELTS. UNFORTUNATELY IF YOU DRIVE THROUGH MUD, WELL MUD DOES NOT MELT. *TR

THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE. FOUR TIMES I ENCOUNTERED THE DISPLAY OF THE MESSAGE VEHICLE NOT IN PARK WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. THIS IS A VERY CONFUSING AND DANGEROUS MESSAGE SINCE IT APPEARS TO BE RELATED TO A DOOR NOT BEING FULLY CLOSED. I REPORTED IT TO THE DEALER ON MARCH 11TH. THE MANAGER APPEARED TO BE AWARE OF A PROBLEM WITH THIS MESSAGE AND SAID HE WILL REPORT IT TO AN ENGINEER WHEN HE VISITS THE DEALERSHIP. THE REASON FOR REPORTING THIS IS I AM NOT SURE THIS PROBLEM WILL BE CORRECTED FOR MY VEHICLE. *TR
