To whom it may concern, I'm currently experiencing an intermittent flashing red steering column and exclamation point on my dash as well as the power steering disengaging, forcing me to manually wrestle with the steering wheel while trying to control the truck without crashing and potentially killing myself as well as others. I googled this issue and came across the instructions on how reset the EPS by resetting the system by turning the truck off, then back on and turning the steering wheel fully to the left and holding then to the right and holding. This was just a temporary fix until it happened again. Then I reached out to the dealership and they suggested that I reach out to Ram Customer Care. In the process I also found a FCA Equipment Safety Recall VB9/ NHTSA 19E-077 Electronic Power Steering Gear that covered my year and model truck. Ram Customer Care asked me for my VIN and the issue that I was experiencing but stated there were no recalls for my vehicle VIN. They also suggested that I reach out to NHTSA.GOV to file a complaint so that NHTSA can add my VIN to the above or any recall dealing with the EPS Rack & Pinion system so the dealership can fix this hazardous issue stated in any recall or lawsuit for the 2013-2019 Ram 1500 pickup trucks. I am requesting that my VIN be added to the above or any other recalls that are associated with safely operating my truck to protect myself and others while driving on our highways and byways.
I am the original owner of a 2013 RAM 1500 SLT (VIN [XXX] ). I recently discovered, through official Mopar and Mopar México recall databases, that my truck has several open safety recalls — specifically T79 (17V-821), V44 (19V-347), X75 (Fuel Tank Strap Bracket), and U53 (Occupant Restraint Control Module). I was never notified by FCA/Stellantis or my dealership, even though my contact information and address have remained the same since purchase in January 2014. This failure to notify is serious: years ago, a similar malfunction in a 2005 RAM caused an unintended reverse movement that almost pinned me between the vehicle and a gate — exactly the defect described in the T79 recall. These recalls have been open for many years with replacement parts available, yet no contact was made. I am requesting NHTSA to review whether FCA/Stellantis failed to notify owners in Mexico and the U.S. of record about the safety recalls still open on this VIN. HELLO. I HAVE A 2013 RAM 1500 4D SLT 3.6L V6 2X2 6 1/3 FT. SINCE AUGUST 12 2025 IT STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE RACK AND PINION. FROM THEN TILL TODAY MY TRUCK CANNOT BE DRIVEN BECAUSE ITS A SAFETY HAZZARD. IT TURNS ON BUT YOU TOUCH THE STEERING WHEEL AND IT GOES COMPLETLY FROM RIGHT TO LEFT WITHOUT STOPING, IT DOES IT ALSO OUTSIDE WITH THE TWO FRONT TIRES, NON STOP FROM LEFT TO RIGHT WITHOUT NO INVOLVEMENT AT ALL. IT CANT BE DRIVEN FOR FEAR OF CRASHING SOMETHING OR SOMEONE DUE TO FAULTY RACK AND PINION. ITS VERY BAD.
On a cold morning in February of 2025, i was going to get my wife and me a biscuit and sausage for breakfast. I went to the garage, cranked my truck and noticed the steering wheel would not move. I also noticed a steering wheel light with an exclamation running through it on my instrument panel. I shut it down and went inside to tell my wife. She did a search on the internet and found that others were having this same problem and that dodge had a recall for vehicles with this problem. I called dodge's home office where they checked my vin number and said that my vehicle did not have any recalls. I told her that maybe she should add my truck to the recall list as I was having the same steering problem as many others. I got NO satisfaction from her and after reading information that other dodge owners had posted i realized that these people weren't going to do anything about this. At one point i called the dodge home office again only this time i got a recording that said; "You are calling about your 2013 dodge truck. (I wondered how she had this information.) Please press a number to be connected to someone." I was connected to a lady in Taiwan. She spoke very broken English and I asked her to put someone else on the phone. She argued that she spoke English and I got irritated with her and hung up. I believe this is by design as dodge wants to do just that, dodge their responsibilities to their customers. No one has inspected my truck as I can't remove it from the garage. I was told that the tool that was plugged into my computer system would not reveal my problem if the steering system was working. The only way that I can get it to a mechanic is if the steering is working. I have puchased and installed a 10 amp fuse in the fuse panel and a 120 amp battery cable fuse on the battery. Neither solved my problem. so now I have a 2013 dodge ram truck (Like new) with 32,000 miles that I can't drive because I can't steer it. Please do something about this!!!!!

Requested Action: NHTSA should require Stellantis to issue a recall to correct the database classification error across all automotive systems, or provide alternative identification mechanisms that ensure proper vehicle recognition. Root Cause: Stellantis' failure to properly coordinate database updates during the 2013 Dodge Ram to Ram transition, leaving vehicles in a "database orphan" state.
My 2013 Ram 1500 has had issues with the horn not working when the middle of the steering wheel is pushed but sounds when the key fob is used to lock doors. The EVIC control on the steering wheel would also not work. This started in 2018 where the problem was intermittent. This was part of recall R36 where the rubbing of the steering wheel harness on the retainer springs could cause an electrical short and or inadvertent air bag deployment. I took my vehicle to Bill Volz WestchesterDodge, Cortland Manor, NY for the recall on 10-19-15 with 18,205 miles. I feel the work wasn’t done properly because the problem reoccurred in less than 3 years and about 6,000 miles later. The horn and EVIC has not worked in over 7 months. My concern is that I could be driving on a major interstate when my vehicle airbag deploys causing a crash. I contacted Chrysler customer service on 1-13-2025 and spoke to a representative. That person called me back on 1-14-2025 and stated that he referred my case #[XXX] , to a specialist who would contact me in 2-3 business days. As of 2-2-2025 I have not received any response from Chrysler customer service. I need assistance in correcting this safety issue. See attachments. My 2013 Ram pick-up truck has the same problem as everyone else's the electric rack and pinion which it went out last year. I think I might have a blown head gasket. My truck is broke down infront of my home. I'm disabled I can't afford to get it fixed at the moment
I had to replace my Rack and Pinion and tie rods because my steering wouldn't work and my truck only has 51,744k miles on it. This makes no sense to me. This should be a recall issue.
1.Electronic stability control: A disabled ESC system may result in loss of directional control, increasing the risk of a crash. 2.Exterior lighting: Without a warning that the turn signal is malfunctioning, the driver would continue to use the vehicle, unaware that other drivers on the road are not being notified that the vehicle is turning, increasing the risk of a crash. 3.Equipment: Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash. 4.Air bags: If the rollover side curtain air bags and seat belt pretensioners are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a crash that necessitates activation of these safety systems. 5.Power train: Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash. 6.Latches/locks/linkages: If the tailgate opens while the vehicle is being driven, cargo may fall out the vehicle and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash. 7.Engine and engine cooling: Without a properly working windshield defrosting system, a buildup of moisture or ice could limit the driver's ability to see, increasing the risk of a crash. 8.Air bags: frontal: This abrasion may result in an electrical short that could cause driver's frontal air bag to unexpectedly deploy. Inadvertent deployment of the air bag may increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash. 9.Parking brake: If the parking brake fails to operate as designed, the vehicle could roll when parked, increasing the risk of a crash. Red temp dash light on, Yellow Engine dash light on, Powertrain dash light on and Red airbag dash light on since May 2023. Has been serviced by dealership 9 times with the same on going issues with no resolution. Worried about overall safety.
Shifter service light flashed on, the the car turned off while driving greater than 50 miles per hours. This happened 3 times.
Electronic power steering unit failure. EPS Unit. Loss of power assist. Warning light came on Friday Sept 29, 2023 at approximately 1:30pm est. when I entered the vehicle and started the engine. Vehicle had been driven and parked for approximately 10 min before I went back to vehicle and leave that location. Warning light was a large icon of a red steering wheel with a red exclamation mark ❗️ then the screen said, “service power steering “ with the red indicator still remaining on. No other warning lights or symptoms prior to the above information. Vehicle taken to Signature Automotive 2725 Northgate Court Cumming, GA 30041 (770) 889-5959 at 8:00 am 10/4/23 for diagnosis. Service advisor stated that there was internal circuit failure. Throwing all “sorts” of internal codes in the electronic unit. Was unable to have system Reestablish communication. Entire rack and pinion unit needs replacement. Called Dodge dealership at 5855 Ga Highway 400 Cumming, GA 30028-4194 I spoke with parts dept. regarding OEM replacement , etc. Advised me that it would be a week to 10 business days before they could get the part. Even then didn’t guarantee that because of the latest strike happening. Informed me it could take much longer. I was also advised not to drive the vehicle. Due to the fact of steering could lock-up while driving and cause a crash. Putting myself and others at risk! At this time the indicator light is still on. Remains on when vehicle is running. No power assist. Extremely difficult to turn.

The EPS failure has NOT been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or any other agency.
Broken exaust manifold bolts bringing exaust fumes into cab
Light on dash comes on randomly saying that my gas cap isnt on all of the way, and everytime i check it, it will definitely be on and tightened.. it comes and goes at random… Also, if i hit 11.0 mpg average, then my ECO mode will shut off and causes my check engine light to come on, and then that wont go away and let me go into ECO mode again until i am back under 11.0 mpg average.
Was driving and noticed a rattling noise, arrived at work, myself and a co-worker, who also owns a Ram, looked under the truck and noticed that my bracket that holds my gas tank in place had broken loose from the frame, which it is supposed to be attached to(the actual bracket that is supposed to hold the support for the tank had rusted out, this has got to be a safety issue???
Rack opinion according to Dodge dealership mechanics need replacing. I was told by another professional mechanic that the sway bar and tire rods need to be replaced. Will you all please search for Recalls N complaints. I will have the racken opinion work done because of the Safety issues that are at hand. Also anticipating sway bar n tire rod and front end work to Ensure that we are safe in the vehicle. Thank you!Safety First!
Driving to work and heard metallic grinding noise. Pulled over to see front of gas tank almost on the ground. Upon inspection strap broke through the bracket on frame. It is rotted. Very dangerous. Why is in not recalled.
Exhaust manifold warped and bolts broke, causing risk of CO^2 contamination in passenger compartment. The above listed issue is recognized as a "Known Issue" on the FCA's Mopar Recall Check tool. Multiple forums document ongoing recurrences with with certain years of the Ram 1500, https://www.ramforum.com/threads/recall-no-more-5-7l-exhaust-manifold-bolts.117041/ The problem has been inspected, diagnosed and acknowledged by Mopar RAM Service Technicians at Charlie's Dodge in Maumee, Ohio. Audible knocking sound from engine compartment was noticeable, with zero warning indicators to alert to a problem. Previous technicians pacified me with statements that indicated that the knocking noise was a typical RAM Truck sound that goes away after the motor warms up. (But it never goes away)

MY 2013 RAM1500 HAD A VEHICLE RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER LOCKING PIN. AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT, MY GEARSHIFT SHIFTED GEARS WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT DEPRESSED AND AS A RESULT MY TRUCK IS NOW STUCK IN 4TH GEAR. THIS DAMAGE THAT WAS CAUSED AS A RESULT OF FAULTY EQUIPMENT PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE TRUCK HAS NO RESPONSE TIME AND CAN NOT KEEP UP WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. NOR CAN THE TRUCK EFFECTIVELY TRANSIT ANY ROAD RESEMBLING AN APPRECIABLE INCLINE DUE TO BE STUCK IN 4TH GEAR. THE I BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER (CARS PLUS GUAM) YESTERDAY REGARDING RAM RECALL T79 AND DETAILED ALL OF THIS TO THEM. THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE, AND HAVE NOT RESOLVED OTHER ISSUES WITH THE BODY CONTROL MODULE. I KNOW SEE ONLINE THAT THEY HAVE CLOSED OUT MY RECALLS LISTING THEM AS REPAIRED. THEY HAVE CALLED ME TO COME PICK UP THE VEHICLE. BUT I AM NOT AT ALL SATISFIED THAT ALL PROPER ACTIONS AND MANUFACTURER REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. I AM STILL STUCK WITH AN UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITION AS A RESULT OF DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURED EQUIPMENT.

THE HEATER CORE WAS LEAKING. DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER THE HEATER CORE STARTED LEAKING AND MY WINDOWS INSTANTLY FOGGED OVER NOT ALLOWING ME TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD OR SIDE WINDOWS. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO CLEAR MY WINDOWS. AFTER THAT I NOTICED THAT I HAD LITTLE TO NO HEAT IN THE TRUCK AND STARTED TO SMELL THE ANTIFREEZE INSIDE OF THE TRUCK. CALLED DEALER THEY QUOTED $1200-1500 FOR REPAIR. I ASKED IF THEY HAD ISSUES WITH THAT HAPPENING AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD GET 2-3 TRUCKS EVERY WINTER. I HAD THE REPAIR DONE BY A INDEPENDENT SHOP WHICH WAS CHEAPER. ALSO HAVE A CO WORK WITH SAME TRUCK YEAR AND A WEEK AFTER MINE WENT SO DID HIS.

MY 2013 RAM HAS A CONSTANT VIBRATION WHICH STARTS AT AROUND 40MPH AND CONTINUES ALL THE WAY UP TO 75+ MPH. I'VE REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES 3 TIMES. THE LAST SET ARE MICHELIN. ON ALL 3 SETS OF NEW TIRES I HAD THEM BALANCED A TOTAL OF OVER 15 TIMES. HAD ROAD FORCE TESTING DONE ON THE NEWEST SET 5 TIMES. I STILL FEEL THE VIBRATION. I BOUGHT THE TIRES AND HAD THEM ROAD FORCE BALANCED BY A NATIONAL TIRE CHAIN. THEN I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A LOCAL DODGE DEALER/SERVICE CENTER. THEY ROAD FORCE BALANCED THE TIRES TWICE AND TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WASN'T THE TIRES OR RIMS. THEN I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE STORE WHERE I BOUGH THE TIRES, THEY ROAD FORCE BALANCED THEM AGAIN AND STILL I FEEL THE VIBRATION. THE SERVICE MANAGERS AT BOTH LOCATIONS SAID THAT THEY PERSONALLY DROVE THE TRUCK FOR A ROAD TEST AND THEY BOTH SAID THEY COULDN'T FEEL THE VIBRATION. BELIEVE ME, IT REALLY SHAKES. IT'S ANNOYING AND I'M SURE IT'S NOT GOOD FOR THE TRUCK OVERALL. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 122,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN VIBRATING FOR ABOUT 100,000 MILES. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW AND PURCHASED THE UNLIMITED WARRANTY. UNLIMITED. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE DODGE WARRANTY, SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE DEALER WOULDN'T GET TO THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM. I REALLY LIKE THE TRUCK, BUT THIS VIBRATION PROBLEM IS MAKING ME VERY ANGRY. IS THERE A RECALL THAT ADDRESSES THIS PROBLEM? IF NOT, WHAT SHOULD MY NEXT STEP BE? BEFORE PICKING UP MY VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP CALLED TO NOTIFY ME OF A GLITCH WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYING IN THE ON POSITION AND THE SECOND ISSUE HAD THE SERVICE AIRBAG COMING ON RANDOMLY. THEY SAID IT COULD BE FIXED BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY. I DIDN'T AGREE TO THIS DUE TO NONE OF THESE ISSUES WERE OCCURRING PRIOR TO MY VISIT. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IN AUGUST 2016 IN MISSOURI AT A USED CAR DEALER. WHEN I WAS NOTIFIED I HAD A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER REFUSED TO FIX ANY RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I WAS BUILT IN CANADA. I WAS NOT TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS FROM CANADA WHEN I BOUGHT IT, NOR DID I KNOW I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO RECALLS. SO BASICALLY I HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND IN A UNSAFE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS.
AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WILL ALL UNLOCK, BUT ONLY THE DRIVER DOOR AND THE TAILGATE WILL LOCK. I PRESS UNLOCK ON EITHER THE KEY FOB, THE EXTERIOR KEY FOB, OR ON THE INTERIOR SWITCHES (DRIVER & PASSENGER) AND ALL DOORS (DRIVER, PASSENGER, TWO REAR, AND TAILGATE) WILL ALL UNLOCK. I PRESS LOCK ON EITHER THE KEY FOB OR ON THE INTERIOR SWITCHES (DRIVER AND PASSENGER) AND ONLY THE DRIVER AND TAILGATE WILL LOCK. AT FIRST, IT WAS INTERMITTENT. MAYBE THE PASSENGER DOORS WOULD LOCK, MAYBE THEY WOULDN'T. THEN IT GOES AWAY FOR A LITTLE WHILE. THEN IT COMES BACK FOR AWHILE, THE THREE PASSENGER DOORS WON'T LOCK.

TODAY COMING TO A RED LIGHT, STARTED TO SLOW DOWN, LIGHT TURNED GREEN, TRUCK WAS STILL MOVING AND DIED. ALMOST HAVE BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES AS THE CAR OR TRUCK BEHIND US WAS UNAWARE THAT THE TRUCK DIED. SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T DIE UNTIL A FULL STOP IS ACHIEVED OTHER TIMES IT DIES WHEN THE SPEED IS UNDER 5 MPH. ONLY THE ENGINE IS OFF, EVERYTHING ELSE THAT COULD WARN YOU IS STILL OPERATIONAL. THE DEALER STILL CANNOT ISOLATE THE PROBLEM, WE ARE TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR OF THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING.

JUST OUT OF "DODGE WARRANTY" MY 3RD BRAKE LIGHT TOOK IN WATER. THIS RESULTED IN A BLOWN 3RD BRAKE LIGHT BULB AND NOW LEAKING OF WATER INTO MY BACK WINDOW AND DOWN INTO THE SIDE BEHIND THE COVER IN MY TRUCK. THIS IS WHILE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. RISK OF MOLD AND 3RD BRAKE LIGHT NOW NOT WORKING. THE BACK WINDOW IS SOLID NEVER DAMAGED OR REPLACED. THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT COVER WAS NEVER TAKEN OFF OR REPLACED. ALL MANUFACTURER RESPONSIBLY AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT DUE TO OUT OF DODGE WARRANTY. THIS TRUCK IS A 2013 DODGE RAM WITH 41,000 MILES ON IT. NEVER IN A ACCIDENT OR ANY PROBLEMS EXCEPT DODGE RECALLS.
APPROXIMATELY 10:30 AM ON JUNE 29, 2017, A PLUNGER LIFT EMPLOYEE WAS ON A XTO LOCATION WHEN HE WAS INVOLVED IN A MINOR MVA. THE EMPLOYEE WAS HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH A XTO FIELD FOREMAN WHEN THEY BOTH NOTICE HIS BACK UP LIGHTS CAME ON AND STARTED ROLLING ON ITS OWN BACKWARDS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN PARK POSITION. THE EMPLOYEE'S TRUCK IMPACTED THE XTO FIELD FOREMAN'S TRUCK RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES.

I TOOK INTO SHOP WHILE COVERED UNDER WARRENTY ABOUT 4 TIMES OR SO FOR THIS ISSUE THEY CLAIM THEY CANT FIND A PROBLEM AND CANT FIX UNLESS IT HAPPENS WHILE THEY HAVE THE VEHICLE. THE TWO FRONT DOME LIGHTS FLICKER AND HAVE DIMMED FROM THE ORIGINAL BRIGHTNESS AT PURCHASE DATE. I HAVE HAD THE MASTER SWITCH REPLACED AND FINALLY THE OVERHEAD DOME CONSOLE REPLACED AS IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM BRIEFLY, NOW BOTH LIGHTS ARE NOT ADEQUATE FOR USE AS THEY FLICKER AND ARE DIM.

I CHANGED THE SETTING THROUGH THE RADIO FROM LIGHTS FLASH WHEN LOCKING TO NO FLASH AND ALL LOCKS LOCKED. EVEN BEFORE I MADE THE CHANGE THE REMOTE, THE ARMREST SWITCHES AND THE AUTOMATIC UNLOCK WOULD UNLOCK ALL LOCKS JUST FINE. THIS FAULT ONLY OCCURRED AFTER THE RADIO WAS FLASHED.

I PAID OVER $40,000 FOR THIS AMERICAN MADE TRUCK AND EXPECT ALL SAFETY INSTALLED FEATURES AIR BAGS,DEFROSTERS,SEAT BELTS ETC TO BE IN WORKING ORDER WITHOUT PAYING EXTRA AFTER I DRIVE OFF THE LOT. I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL LETTERS TRYING TO GET ME TO PAY TO TURN ON THE SAFETY AND GAS SAVING FEATURE. I WILL TRY TO DOWN LOAD ONE OF THE LETTERS THEY HAVE SENT.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN MY TRUCK WHEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT OFF AND REST ITSELF. THIS HAS HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES NOW AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND ASKED THEM HAVE THEY HEAR ANY OTHER OWNERS SAY IT HAPPEN TO THEM. THEY AT LIKE I WAS SPEAKING A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE. THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO CHECK IT UNLESS IT HAPPENS WHEN THEY HAVE IT. ONLY PROBLEM WITH THAT IS IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY.
ON 10/6/2015, I HAD MY NEPHEW IN MY TRUCK WHILE I WAS INSTALLING HIS CAR SEAT. THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING, THE KEYS WERE IN MY POCKET. AS I WAS INSTALLING THE CARSEAT , HE WAS ABLE TO PULL MY SHIFTER OUT OF PARK CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL BACKWARDS DOWN THE STREET. AS I JUMPED INTO PASSENGER SIDE TO REACH THE BRAKE, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HIT A BRICK MAILBOX AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FENDER. THE BRAKE SHIFT INTERLOCK THAT SHOULD KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING IS NOT FUNCTIONING IN MY VEHICLE, AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED FROM ROLLING, I GOT BACK IN TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED AND I CAN CLEARLY MOVE MY SHIFTEROUT OF PARK AND INTO REVERSE, NEUTRAL AND DRIVE WITH THE TRUCK TURNED OFF AND WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE.
