The front gas tank strap mount on the frame rusted to the point the new one I purchased falls out of the frame. Some Rams have the recall applied mine shows zero. I have a strap to hold the tank up temporarily but I need a permanent fix.
See pictures. Also reference ODI 11691063 complaint. This ram should be added to the ram 2016 existing recall for fuel sensor recall.
The front strap that holds the gas tank up broke loose from the frame rusting out.
My Ram 1500 will randomly loose power while driving then pick back up, I have had several issues with electrical including lights flickering or going our for a minute then back on while driving at night, steering wheel controls not working, key fob issues, it also shifts hard at times others its normal. I was told all recalls have been done but personally can not confirm, had it looked at by several mechanics and cant find anything that they say would cause these issues.
Front gas tank strap is detached from frame and fuel tank is hanging down ready to fall out on road. There is a recall for this condition on the 2009-2012 models but the same condition exists on the 2016. Strap pulled through the corroded bracket welded to the truck frame. Dealer says it is not covered under the recall. Pictures in recall U04 NHTSA 18V-160 look just like my truck so I didn't attach any.
I own a 2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel (VIN: [XXX] ). This vehicle is covered under the EcoDiesel Approved Emissions Modification (AEM) Settlement extended warranty. Since the update in January 2025, the truck has suffered repeated EGR system failures and related warranty failures. The EcoDiesel lawsuit itself was based on EGR cooler defects that could leak coolant and cause fires. My truck has experienced the same failure pattern, with coolant leaks, overheating, and unsafe breakdowns. On [XXX], the vehicle shut off in the middle of the road while I was driving, creating a serious hazard. The cause was traced to a covered emissions component. This was not an isolated incident. The vehicle has been in dealerships for over 60 cumulative days since January 2025, mostly for repeated EGR codes and fuel system issues, but the root problem has never been properly repaired. On [XXX], the low-pressure fuel pump failed after it had already been replaced. The premature failure left me stranded and required a $500 tow. This failure also presented a risk of sudden power loss in traffic. Despite repeated visits to authorized dealers, repairs are incomplete or improperly billed, including installation of non-OEM parts that failed again. The repeated stalling, coolant leaks, overheating, and sudden no-start conditions show that this truck remains unsafe to operate on public roads. I am reporting this as a safety defect because the emissions system failures and improper repairs have caused the vehicle to shut off while driving and continue to present a risk of fire, engine damage, and sudden loss of power. The HPFP that has an unfixed recall on it went out and caused the engine to grenade itself
Fuel level sensor failed. Truck will randomly display false fuel levels. This causes the fuel level to be unknown leading the potential of running out gas and being stranded. Dealer says fuel pump needs replaced and is in the process of doing so. Dealer also stated this is a common issue on the Ram trucks.
I presently have 92,200 miles on my Doge Ram. I have experienced 3 fuel pump/fuel sender failures. The first at 18,947 miles, second at 43,634 miles and third at 92,263.This last fuel pump replacement will have the defective pump available for inspection after the repair work is done. The failure of a fuel pump/sender could lead to stalling, power loss and failure to start. These deficiencies could lead to traffic accidents resulting in property loss and bodily harm or even death. The warnings persisted until I had the parts replaced. Because of the number of times (3)and the low mileage , 18k,43k and 92k miles, it appears that the fuel pumps used in this model of Dodge Ram are either defective or inadequately engineered. These failures were preceded by and check engine warning light followed by a fuel sensor failure light and fuel gauge malfunction.
RAM has an extended warranty out regarding the front strap for the fuel tank that is known to fail. When the strap failed, the fuel tank dropped causing a gouge in the drive shaft. In addition to the compromised drive shaft, the metal bracket was touching the ground. Should I have been driving during when this failed, the metal could have caused sparks causing the fuel tank to ignite. This problem should be moved from an extended warranty to a recall.
Ever since I have owned the vehicle, the gas station fill nozzle randomly gets stuck when trying to fill the vehicle. I tried taking it to the dealer years back, but was told there was no fix. When the nozzle gets stuck, you really need to wiggle and pry to get it out, sometime spilling fuel outside the truck when it finally releases.
My hpfp failed causing metal to get into the fuel rail and affecting the injectors causing a hot spot on a piston causing piston slap and engine failure was told about recall z46 dealership they didn't fix stellantis will not fix will not support the need for a engine replacement
ABS module goes in and out, but nothing is wrong and repayment hasn't been available for over 2 yrs.
The recall for high pressure pump came out in July of 2022. To this day there is no fix. They just put back in the same defective high pressure pump and it breaks down again leaving you stranded. Mine has been fixed twice since the recall. That is on average every 18 months.
Issue with the relay controlling the fuel pump located in the fuel tank(lift pump) When the relay stop working, the engine cannot be started or don't supply fuel to the High pressure fuel pump (HPFP) forcing to stop on the road. Could lead seriously to an unsafe situation like the HPFP can do. This issue can be reproduce easily by the dealer. No DTC or check engine ON for this type of issue. The dealer fix it yesterday and the damage was under the TIPM (Total integrated Power Module) The wires connectors under the relay were melted by overheat. This issue lead to an OFF and ON electrical contact between the fuel pump and the relay. This issue is largely documented over internet and can be fix for under 200$ usd with an external relay. But the first FCA option is to replace the TIPM board for 1200$ usd. Actually no recall for this major issue present in many FCA models since many years. The first time this issue happend was december 20, 2024. The date of repair is february, 12 2025. Between those two dates, I got the crank nostart problem many times.
After having a full tank of fuel/gas my gas gauge will fluctuate to empty I'm saying no fuel on my gauges and the gas light will come on. When another person is in my vehicle like my wife driving that is not used to this will cause her to panic when she is on the highway or other roadways driving at high speeds and this can be dangerous. Also can be dangerous the other way giving false reading when you do need fuel and you don't have a 14 and it gives you false readings thinking you do have enough gas and leave you stranded in the wrong place wrong time wrong situation. 2018 intermediate until now 2025 almost daily to weekly. Research the problem in the past and have seen that this is a known issue
To Whom It May Concern: In March 2024 I purchased a Ram 1500 pickup truck. Shortly after purchasing the truck I discovered there was an open recall for the vehicle (14Z46182 Safety Recall Z46), I had the recall completed on April 10, 2024; The High Pressure Fuel Pump, Injector Fuel Tubes, and Fuel Filter were replaced by Port Lavaca Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep. A few months later I started having erratic check engine lights, hard starting etc. I had the codes translated at Auto Zone and it was determined to most likely be the High Pressure Fuel Pump failure. I dismissed that diagnosis as the high pressure fuel pump had recently been replaced. On September 6, 2024 my truck quit running and I had it towed to ROKS DIESEL to be evaluated for the cause. Roks Diesel checked it on September 16, 2024 and said the High Pressure Fuel Pump failed and metal particles were throughout the fuel system and that the complete fuel system must be replaced and the tank cleaned. The fuel was checked for contamination and none was found. I called Port Lavaca Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep to see what I should do; I was told to tow it in and they would perform a duplicate recall. I explained that it needed to be towed from Victoria, TX, so they suggested I save some money and have it towed to Victoria Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep, which I did. Victoria Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Jeep evaluated the truck and confirmed what Roks Diesel informed me. They went on to say the fuel was contaminated and there for I would have to pay to remove, reinstall, and clean the fuel tank. I repeatedly asked how they determined the fuel was contaminated and was not given an adequate answer. I was unsuccessful in negotiating with them over charging me for the cleaning of the fuel tank, and agreed to pay because I needed transportation. I contacted Ram Division and submitted all the documents necessary for reimbursement of my costs, which was rejected. I gave them a bad review on their handling of the situation, and they put me
I have had several issues with this vehicle for over 1 yr, started having issues with the vehicle 3 months after purchasing it. I was unaware of any warranties on my truck because I bought it used. Called the dealership that I bought it from and they said I didn’t have a warranty on it. The truck would lose power while driving than it would show something about exhaust issue. Finally after around 6 months or so we had to take it to the shop to have it fixed paid over $2000 to have it fixed and it worked for some time but finally would not turn on and left us stranded. It has been over a year since we have been able to use the truck because now it has affected the motor. I am so desperate for some type of resolution. This is a recall issue and don’t understand why Chrysler won’t fix it.
I've read many problems with not being able to put fuel in the truck, I am experiencing that exact problem. You can't pump gas into the tank. The nozzle shuts off immediately, after .15 cents or so. No engine codes to help diagnose the problems.
Have recall and have contacted dealership. But have not been resolved. I submitted a complaint here and have not gotten a response. Tracking number is 11611355.
There was a recall for High Pressure Fuel Pump. Part ended up exploding and debris getting into fuel system, which made engine faulty. Found out just today there is a recall for ABS system, which ABS light has been on for 3 months The vehicle has shut off on the freeway 5 times, always on the freeway which was dangerous. The vehicle has been inspection and worked on by Ram dealership but they cannot find remedy for the vehicle. Yes the engine light was on and the ABS light is on currently. After new engine and PCM was installed the engine light went off but vehicle shut off last night which was (10/17/2024) now there is a red light blinking
The Safety Recall has been on for 2 to 4 years NHTSA # 22V406000 Manufacturer Recall Number Z48 I've got many E mails about repairing the safety recall and No Service available I knew the fuel pressure pump is available please respond it worries me a lot to I may get in an accident
Exhaust flange before the DPF, bolts sheared off and melted my DEF line, dealer replaced the DEF line $826 but made noone aware of the failed flange gasket or bolts
Question 1 The front fuel tank strap pulled out of its mount due to corrsion. The vehicle may be inspected request. Question 2 The tank could have fallen out before I noticed causing accident fire or injuries. Question 3&4 It has not been by the dealer or other entity. Question 5 There were no warning lights or messages other than a noise. On the afternoon of Aug 27 2024 I noticed an unusual noise under the vehicle during brakeing. Backing onto a set of ramps and conducting an inspection I found the full 30 gallon fuel tank hanging front end low only being held in by the rear strap. The noise was caused by the front fuel tank strap to intermittantly rubbing the drive shaft. The strap had pulled out of the slot in the frame due to heavy corrosion. The sprap is not able to be reinstalled in it mount location due to it being rusted out. Doing online research on how to repair this I found a recall for 2009-2012 Ram 1500s with the same problem. Safety Recall V04/NHTSA 18V-160 Frame Bracket. If I had not noticed the noise I may not have known about the tank strap until the tank actually fell out. This vehicle is used to haul personal items, tow a classic car, and transport family.
The vehicle suddenly started performing very erratically on highway. After inspection the camshaft and lifters are very damaged and the engine is constantly misfiring. I have performed regular routine maintenance on this vehicle its whole life. There is no reason these parts should be damaged unless they were defective from the beginning.
Front fuel strap corroded at frame of truck, causing fuel tank to fall while driving on highway
Since we got this truck in 2021 it hard starts once it hits half a tank or 200 miles until empty. We have taken it to the mechanic several times just to be told the fuel pump recall was the problem finally got that recall fixed when yall come up with one and it’s still doing it. This recall has been fixed since June 2,2024 and this vehicle barely runs unless kept between 3/4 and full. This needs to be fixed.
Fuel sensor failure, which means my fuel pump needs replacement. The fuel Guage drops to empty even after a fill up. It's impossible to drive not knowing how much gas I have. I have many friends with the exact same issue with their trucks. This is dangerous and should be recalled.
It keeps saying parking light out. The engine light is now on and brakes and suspension are not good. Texas Crown auto sales or Crown auto sales sold me this lemon and I have only made 6 months of payments on it. It goes to the shop and stays at least three weeks every month In 2024. I have pictures and video of everyone that worked on it and sold it to me that they fired already.
Fuel tank bracket rusted through causing the fuel tank strap to detatch. Same exact issue as Safety Recall U04 / NHTSA 18V-160 Frame Bracket
Truck die for the second time Car is at Lake Wales Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Since [XXX] There is no estimate time to be release They mention about decal [XXX]/nhtsa [XXX] For high pressure Fuel Pump. I call FCA but no one care about. Telling than I have to wait for parts! This isn’t right when they not even offer a loaner. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I called dealship to schedule the repair of the "high pressure fuel pump" and was told I would be put on a "waiting list" which would be about two (2) YEARS! this is unacceptable to me. The service girl stated the reason being is they do not have "replacement parts" to do the repair and won't have them for two (2) years. I will continue to drive my vehicle and if it breaks down due to the above mentioned issue, it could be very costly for NHTSA to replace. If all vehicles follow this path, I would surmise this will be devastating to your budget. Please find a remedy to make the part available for repair and save us both time and money. Thank you for your time!
High pressure fuel pump went out. Dealer refuses to repair stating no parts available since 2022. I purchased vehicle used June 2023, did not know it had a active recall that said "do not sell". Pump went out 4 mo later while driving highway speeds, been parked at dealership for 4 months. No loaner, no attempt to repair, no apology, just say cant do a thing about the 2 year old recall. 1. seems bad faith to sell a flawed veh that has do not sell on recall. 2. no offer to trade it back, fix it or give loaner. 3. repair parts are all over internet including Mopar sales has over 2000 available, dealer said they have no parts.
FUEL LEVEL SENSER NOT READING , WENT ON VACATION FUEL WASNT READING AN I JUST FILLED IT UP . TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AN THEY SAID ITS WORKING NOW , AFTER WE WENT ON THE WAY BACK IT STARTED DOING IT MORE AN MORE . AN PLUS THE TAILGATE OPENS ON IT OWN ALL THE TIME
On the highway at 70mph, vehicle stuttered and lost all power. Engine light came on. On side of road vehicle would turn over but not start. Using code reader got codes cp026 and cp016 indicating low or no fuel pressure. Towed 35 miles to dealer. Discovered next day that fuel.pump had failed and sent debris into the fuel injection system. I have been waiting more than since they notified owners when problem discovered for a remedy as per the recall. Now the HPFP has failed. Waiting on FCA for their solution as this is my only vehicle.
The safety recall for the 2016 RAM Ecodiesel is taking too long. The recall was issued in 2022 and it is now 2024. I want my HPFP replaced ASAP.
I had about 3/4 of a tank of gas. I noticed my fuel gauge go down to empty, and the low fuel light started blinking. It then when back up to about 3/4. It did this a couple of times until it stayed on empty, and the check engine light came on. The next time I started my truck, I got a "Fuel Sensor Fail" notification. I get that every time I start up. When I filled my tank, the gauge began to work again, but I still had a check engine light. I checked my codes, and had a P0463 code, which indicates a fuel sensor fail. I cleared the code, and the gauge worked for about a day and half. When I got to about 3/4 of a tank of gas again, it all happened again. I have about 78,000 miles.
Lack of action on an existing NHTSA recall. FCAUS has failed to act on NHTSA recall 22V-406 for the high pressure fuel pump. Today I contacted the local Ram dealership service department and was told that they do not have a waitlist to fix the issue, or any idea when repair parts will become available. This is 566 days after the recall was announced in June 2022. The inaction of FCAUS/Stellantis is a danger to the livelihood and safety of owners of affected vehicles and the safety of drivers that share the roads with owners of affected vehicles.
Good afternoon, I have filed multiple complaints regarding recall 22V-406 (11501200, 113003170). It has been over 1.5 years since the recall was issued and there is still not resolution. The NHTSA site mentions if there isn't a fix within a reasonable time, then to contact you again. 1.5 years does not seem reasonable when it comes to a safety hazard. The last update I received from NHTSA was letters will be mailed 12/14/23 and wanted to confirm this timing hasn't slipped. Thank you in advance, [XXX] Vin [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Driving down road and truck engine sputtered and lost power eventually completely stalling out. If on a busy highway I could have been hit due to the loss of power at speed. I had it towed to a dealership and they have confirmed it is the High Pressure Fuel Pump that has failed and is under recall. There were no warnings of this failure prior to it happening.
My truck lost power and the engine shut off in the middle of an intersection. I had it towed to my local Ram dealer in June of 2023. It is now November 27th of 2023 and the vehicle cannot be fixed because of the Z46 recall has no parts. I have been in contact with my dealer and they gave me a quote of $13000 to replace the fuel pump with no guarantee I could get reimbursed for these repairs. The recall was scheduled to be out by August of 2023 and was pushed back to January of 2024. That will be 6 months of paying for a vehicle I cannot drive because Ram won't issue a fix for this. The dealer did verify that the fuel pump is the problem.
Recall was announced in June 2022, there is still not remedy. I was driving my vehicle when all of a sudden it stalled out in the middle of an interstate. I was able to drift to the median to keep myself and others safe. I had it towed to my dealership and they said they can not fix it, it’s part of the recall. Now I’m here without a vehicle and Chrysler will not do anything about it.
FCA/Stellantis has failed as of 09/06/2023 to provided replacement parts for the high pressure pump under recall 22V-406 continuing to subject diesels under this recall to failure
Front fuel tank strap broke. This is a known issue for Dodge ram trucks. It is the same issue that happened on the 2009 through 2012 Dodge ram recalls. My truck is a 2016 Dodge ram. Has been mostly in Virginia and Ohio over the last 8 years. The strap broke through the chassis due to rust and corrosion. This is a known issue with a lot of Dodge Ram trucks and is something the NHTSA should look into and force the dealerships to issue a recall.
RECALL dated June 09, 2022 NHTSA Recall Number 22V-406 VIN: [XXX] 2016 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel . It has been over one year since I received the recall notification. The part is still unavailable. This is a high risk problem, as the safety risk is "fuel starvation which may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning." This is grossly unacceptable. This is the first of 2 RECALLS! I would like the manufacturer to BUY BACK this vehicle at a reasonable price. At ~50,000 miles the fuel level gauge would go to Empty only after I filled the tank fully. Now it no longer work at all. The fuel level sensor is defective. Just passed 90,000 miles.
Hello, On March the 31st, 2023 my husband 2016 Dodge 1500 ECO Diesel Truck serial number 1C6RR7KM5GS326355 stopped working while on a fishing trip returning to Tucson, Arizona . The truck was towed to Globe , Arizona still at auto shop since March 31,2023 , he left it for them to fix thinking he would get his truck in about a week or so. Unfortunately, he was contacted by the dealer Horne Dodge Chrysler Jeep Nissan, Globe , Arizona and found out that it was a recall on a high pressure fuel pump , which to this date July 20.2023 they have not been able to repair. The dealer explained the part is not available and neither are any replacement parts to fix the vehicle fuel pump with an unknown date of service to get the truck back up an running. First of all you need to understand this was my transportation back and forth to work and I had no choice but to go out and purchase another vehicle which put be in a bind financially as I am making to truck payments. I have been a fan of diesel of dodge diesel trucks and found another dodge truck which was a 2023 RAM 1500 VIN 1C6SRFFM2PN550123 , at Bill Luke Dodge in Phoenix, AZ in mid- April as I needed a vehicle to transport to work and Horne Dodge had no resloution to get the current vehicle fixed. Then a few weeks after purchasing a 2023 Dodge I received a recall notice once again for my new truck I just bought. This is so upseting to me as now I am hoping this truck doesn't quit working on me as still have another truck sitting at the dealer to get repaired from the same recall. My request is resititution for all my payments from VIN# 1C6RR7KM5GS326355 made from March - current date this is resolved and or go ahead and buy the truck back at FMV,or what you would call a " buy back" then you can resale when you figure out and get it fixed. I have called numerous time and your recall customer service have provided me with nothing and gave me various numbers to keep calling. I was told to send in reciepts once resol
The HPFP on my ecodiesel went out the first half of April. It is currently at a Chrysler dealership and is available for inspection. The safety of little children were at risk because I was driving through my neighborhood when it failed. The problem was confirmed by the dealership. No warning before the problem happened.
Ecodiesel engine suddenly seized up while driving.
There was a factory recall to replace high pressure fuel delivery pump. Dodge dealership will not replace my pump. My truck stalls and loses power due to this faulty pump. All I get is the run around. Clearly from the recall description this is also a safety issue. I have ask the dodge dealership to do the repair and they said no money or orders are given from parent companies.
I registered my Ram pickup vin # [XXX] with the dealer I purchased it from, the day after I received the card from CFA telling me about the recall. I have checked with that dealer monthly since. They always say parts are not available. Now I am 1000 plus miles from home and stranded because the truck has quit. The local in Springdale, Ar. say some of the parts will be in about 6/13/2023, some parts not until the 19th, but those parts show " no movement". he says that means they will be much later. This almost a year from when I REQUESTED MY TRUCK BE FIXTED. I called CFA this morning and the gave me a [XXX] case # [XXX] and said a case manager would contact me 2 to 3 business days. They don't seem to take your recalls very seriously. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
At 69,500 miles my fuel pump sensor failed, i have found hundred upon thousands of people complaining that their fuel pump sensor assembly in their 2013-present 5.7l HEMI Ram 1500 series model failing prematurely due to a design issue that is known by RAM for a long time and has never been addressed. i want to a file a formal complaint as this is beyond ridiculous, if this was a known issue why not address it to future owners. instead of installing a flaw design in newer models. it puts people at risk due to now displaying NO fuel levels in the cluster; this unit also potentially could or may control the amount of fuel delivered to the engine and i have seen or read where people got stranded. just do a quick search for ram fuel sensor issue and you will find A LOT i mean A LOT OF complaints. another issue is that my cluster now has my check engine light ON, Thus rendering any other future issue mute as i cannot tell if anything else failed.
Recall announced June 2022, manufacturer was so release fix first quarter 2023, my dealer checked today, no fix from Ram. The dealer has one used vehicle on their lot they can't sell because recall hasn't been done. What are my options?
Received recall notice Z46/NHTSA 22V-406 July 2022. Had received no update as of May 1, 2023 and called local Ram Dealer (Turpin Motors Dubuque, Iowa). They indicated parts available & would order and call me for appointment. That was a month ago & still no recall appointment made.
I was driving on the highway and my vehicle lost power. I was able to make it home safely. I try to go around the block and as I was accelerating the truck keep loosing power. Finally at my house driving the truck was running and it just died. Since then I was unable to start it again. This happened June 2022, using a computer scanner I saw that it was a bad fuel pump. I called the dealership and they told me that my truck has a recall and that they are uneable to repair it and that I had to wait. I was then told to wait until January 2023 because that was the expected resolution time for the recall. So far it has been 11 months and my truck has not been repair. Back on January 2023 I opened a case with Ram and they told me to take the truck to the dealership. The dealership submitted an estimate repair cost to the recall department but they have not approved the money to make the repair. For the last 11 months I haven’t been able to use my truck.. mean while I keep paying my monthly payments and my insurance. That’s over $7000, plus having to get another car on the meantime until my truck gets repair. I feel I’m left out of options so I’m not sure what else to do.
The fuel tank strap bracket on the frame has rotted out. Tanks is now hanging only by one strap. Also front of tank is 3 to 4 inches lower.
Truck randomly turns itself completely off without warning losing all control of any power or ability to restart the truck to remove it from the road. Gives a Fuel Sending unit failure error, will not go into eco mode and will not remote start.
there was a recall issued june 2022 and there are still no parts avaiable to repair it. how long in the NHTSA's opinion is a timely manner for repair of a condition that states "may cause a vehicle to crash"? I have a truck that's been sitting, dangerous to drive for 8 months. i called but whoever i spoke with couldn't give me a timeline. if someone who knows could let me kno, i'd appreciate it
THE RECALL HAS BEEN SINCE JUNE 2022(I THINK) MANUFACTURER RECALL#246, NHTSA RECALL#22V-406(HIGH PRESSURE FUELPUMP) IT WILLBE ALMOST A YEAR ? SINCE THE RECALL ALL THE DEALERS CAN OFFER OR TELL YOU IS NO PARTS AVAILABLE? WHAT IS THE USUAL TIME FRAME GIVEN THESE KNOWN DEFECTS TO BE FIXED? IS THIS A SAFETY ISSUE?
Looking to find out how long the manufacturer has to recall my vehicle? Trying to find out when parts will be available. Just to recall a vehicle does not get the known problem resolved. Do I just keep driving it in the hope nothing bad happens?
As my understanding is the the fuel pump compones are damaged. Vehicle does now run for too long it turns off. When I was driving it the vehicle turned off. I contacted my insurance to get it towed. It's been at the Dodge dealership since the day it cut off in the highway.
I had the AEM for mission controls performed. Since then, I have experienced a reduction of 5 miles per gallon in fuel efficiency. Additionally, and more importantly, there is a lag in acceleration from a stopped position that is a safety issue. This has caused a number of near accidents due the the lack of acceleration at a stop sign or intersection. I have contacted my RAM dealer on a number of occasions, but I am always informed that there is no repair issued for this by RAM. I was assured by RAM that the AEM would not cause a degradation of performance but it clearly has as there are thousands of other owners who have reported this as well. I have tried to get this resolved throught Chrysler cares, but they continue to tell me that what I am experiencing is not a result of the AEM. However, there are thousands of the same complaints online from other RAM 1500 owners. Please let advise me what recourse I may have or if your agency has addressed this issue previously as it is a severe safety concern.
My 2016 Ram 1500 Sport developed an exhaust leak originating from the exhaust manifold like many other Rams. I noticed it because I could hear a ticking noise upon starting the vehicle, specifically coming from the passenger side front wheel-well. The vehicle was brought to a local Ram dealer and was diagnosed as having multiple sheared studs on the passenger side exhaust manifold. Due to the truck being over 5 years old, the power train warranty no longer covers this. Ram is well aware of this issue but still refuses to initiate a recall. This issue presents a safety concern and has a potential to endanger myself and any other passengers who get in the vehicle due to raw engine exhaust fumes being released within the engine bay while the vehicle is running which could enter the cabin of the vehicle while in operation causing potential injury.
I've been trying for over three years to obtain a repair for severe lag in acceleration in my 2016 Dodge Ram Eco Diesel. It's a critical safety hazard. A recall was issued June 2022, but Dodge continues to say a remedy is not available. Dodge has known about this issue for several years, and still does not have a fix? As I said in my first complaint submitted Jan 2020 (11300317), how many lives will continue to be put at risk because of this issue? Please help.
Fuel Level Sensor & Pump Fail
I experienced a loss of power while driving roughly 2 months ago while driving on the highway. I took my truck to an independent shop, who diagnosed the problem as a premature failure of the High Pressure Fuel Pump. They informed me that the fuel pump is under recall warranty, and I should take my truck to the dealer to have the recall fulfilled. The dealer informed me that the recall could not be performed on my vehicle, due to a lack of recall parts. I have called Chrysler Customer care, who informed me there is no way for Chrysler to help me until the recall parts become available which could take months or years to produce. I also called Ram Customer care and received a similar solution to fulfilling the recall. At this moment in time, my truck is completely immobile. I am without a vehicle to commute to and from work or school. I am a college student that cannot afford to dish out the money necessary to fix my truck, when the problem should be fixed under recall warranty.
For the time iv'e owned the truck it has stalled out randomly while driving leaving me either in the middle of the street or blocking a drive though. Mostly recently it refused to start leaving work and never started after that. Truck sat in my works parking lot for about 3 weeks before I took it to a dealer in that time we diagnosed it as a fuel issue as it would crank fine and would only start as we sprayed diesel down the intake. Truck has now been at local dealer for 4 months with the solution looking to be the most recent High Pressure Fuel Pump recall that just opened. Dealer seems to be sitting on their hands waiting for something magic to happen for the issue to be resolved but nothing is being done to fix this part failure. Truck has left me blocking traffic on multiple events and dealer says they cant inspect my pump until the backordered one arrives which is next year in February. Warning light that would appear all the time was that my fuel injection quantity was lower than expected (P026C) and O2 sensor out of range during deceleration on bank 1 sensor 1(P2297)
My truck has a recall NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 22V406000. The truck will randomly die while on the highway forcing me to pull over 3 lanes with no power at all, then the truck will not start for 5 minutes. I brought the truck to the dealer and they will not fix the problem and told me they don’t have a fix yet and it’s expected late 2023. I use my truck for work to pick up equipment and need it almost on a daily basis. I called Chrysler and they said the same thing. I asked if they would buy it back butthey told me it doesn’t qualify for a buyback. It’s not safe to drive.
The frame mount where the front fuel tank strap slides into has corroded out causing my fuel tank strap to release from the frame and allowing my fuel tank to sag in the front.
Said there will not be any recall fixed anytime soon
Fuel pump leaking. Gasoline leaked in garage. I park in a garage and the smell of gasoline extremely strong. Water heater located in garage. Fuel pump replaced on 8/27/2022. No warning lamps or messages.
There is an open recall for certain vin#'s 20v-475 that happened to my vehicle and according to message boards a lot of other vehicles that have the failure of the tone wheel to the exact way the recall is listed but for some reason the vin does't fall under the recall. My vehicle had a complete shut down without warning or noises while driving at highway speeds on a windy narrow parkway with minimal shoulder. If I wasn't driving in the right lane at the time my situation could've been even more dangerous than it already was. I don't understand how a part that that is used in all ecodiesel engines from 2014-2018 and has a known failure is supposedly only affecting a small percentage of engines when they all have the same part. I have searched message board after message board and have found a lot of listings of this part failure all on vin's that for some reason aren't on the recall. As a SAFETY precaution letters should've went out to all ecodiesel vehicles within those years to at least alert drivers theres a potential for this failure. If it wasn't for the fuel pump recall that they do not have a fix for, I wouldn't have been as aware of m vehicle possibly shutting down without warning. Again I think as a SAFETY precaution letters should be sent to all ecodiesel owners alerting them of this possible engine failure that could endanger their lives and open an investigation to see why a part used in all of the vehicles only affects certain ones when it is obviously failing in all ecodiesel engines.
While traveling at highway speeds on a narrow parkway with minimal shoulders, the vehicle without warning or noise shut down, almost causing a major accident and I wouldn't have been able to get to the shoulder if I wasn't in the right lane. The shoulder barely had room for my truck putting myself and other vehicles at risk. There was ABSOLUTELY no warning that my car was going to completely shut down, no lights illuminated on my dash until i was on the grass and the engine was dead. The dealership confirms the exact issue was a failure of the Magnetic tone wheel that has a NHTSA Recall# 20V-475, that is an identical symptom and diagnosis to my exact issue. The dealership Meadowlands of Carmel (845)225-8468 [XXX] in the service department quoted me $1,600.00 plus tax to replace the magnetic tone wheel. I am also a government employee and I am unable to get to work. My engine type and year (2016) is identical to this recall stated above (20V-475), but for some reason that no one at RAM Customer Service or the RAM Recall Department can identify why my VIN number is excluded from a recall that my VIN is clearly a part of. I had ZERO symptoms, warnings before I could have been potentially killed. My kids were thankfully not in the car with me. I feel this is well within the spectrum of my VIN number qualifying to participate in this recall coverage, as well as other RAMS who may not even be aware of this without doing their own research of the circumstances and symptoms. I feel incredibly lucky to be alive and I follow my maintenance as recommended to a tee. Please feel free to go to Meadowlands in Carmel, NY: 1952 US-6 Carmel, NY 10512. Please see recall I am referring to: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2020/RCLRPT-20V475-5815.PDF Time is of the essence for me and if i can be of any help please do not hesitate to call me at [XXX]. Thank You, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Purchased my 2016 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 SLT Big Horn June 2019. At that point the previous owner had the truck in the shop and while there it was diagnosed that the fuel pump failed. About January 2020 I stated having the famous Hemi Tick but not all the time. I'm very ocd on all maintenance of my truck, witch I or my husband and son; both certified diesel mechanics. I only run Valvoline Full Synthetic 5w-20 oil and a K&N Oil Filter and is changed before the 5k mark. Fast forward to Oct 2021 truck starts not wanting to start, Tick is very very loud and does it warm or cold does not matter. At times would not even start. Send it to the local dealership, with CEI on, they diagnosis as 4 manifold studs are broken, 800 bucks later they are replaced. But only 4, supposedly two on each side. Get truck back, drive maybe 5 miles CEI back on. Truck running as if it has no power, getting no fuel. Was able to get it home, called dealership next morning took truck back. This happened mutiple times. Called the main dealership in Edmond, Oklahoma in an attempt to get someone to figured out why I kept getting told my truck was fixed and it was not. Come to find out after 3 months in the shop the fuel pump yet again failed. Now, there is a recall and my vin is not included but yet I have had TWO failed fuel pumps. And now June 2022 I have the famous Hemi Tick again. To witch I can only guess is the other manifold studs that they for some dumb reason did not replace when they should have.
There is a current safety recall W58/NHTSA 20V-475 that covers certain ram trucks. My trucks vin didn't make the list. My trucked stalled on the interstate and the dealer diagnosed it has the tone wheel delaminated. I'm not sure how the vehicle manufacture or you came up with the VIN list but there are multiple vins that didn't make the list and having this exact failure.
While driving, gas gauge dropped to "E", despite having nearly a full tank of gas. Gas light began flashing, check engine light came on, and a "fuel sensor fail" message displayed on the panel. After much research, this seems to be an ongoing problem with Ram 1500 models from 2014-2017.
When traveling at speed, the vehicle shudders or bucks as if the engine cuts out briefly, then resumes normally for a few seconds, then does it again. It creates a hazard on the highway as I attempt to move to the side of the road or travel slowly to avoid damaging the vehicle further. I took the vehicle to the local dealer and they diagnosed a Delaminated Tone Wheel, the same exact issue as described in Safety Recall W68 / NHTSA 20V-475. The claim that my vehicle is not included in the recall, because it was manufactured 6/07/2016, which is just outside the date window of included vehicles. There seems to be no question that the issue of Tone Wheel Delamination is broader in scope that described in W68 and I am petitioning an expansion of that recall to include all vehicles that potentially have this issue. Both the dealer and FCA refuse to cover the cost of the repairs at this time.
I was exiting the freeway, sped up from about 55mph to pass a semi before the exit narrowed and my '16 RAM 1500 Ecodiesel just stopped working. I got warning lights one after another, "engine oil low pressure", "electric system" "brake system" basically the whole christmas tree lit up. I was almost hit and probably killed by the 18 wheeler I just passed, coasted to a stop and pulled over. Engine would not start back up. Got towed to a shop. Mechanic found that the "crankshaft tone ring/wheel" had lost some of it's magnetic material and that caused the almost catastrophic shut down. Mechanic found Chrysler safety recall W58 and W68 that are for this exact issue for my exact make, model, year and engine type- so I call RAM/Chrysler and they say it's my problem because my VIN is not subject to these recalls. I asked them if the recall is for this exact issue, for the exact make, model, year, and engine then how do can they refuse to even escalate the issue or look into it. This is a known issue, I almost died and am out a couple thousand dollars. The contact is requesting to be reimbursed $1700 for the repairs.
I own 2016 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 SLT Big Horn. I purchased the truck in June 2019 at our local Dodge Dealership in Vinita, Oklahoma with 59k on it. Truck ran fine, did have the Hemi Tick startin until December 20,2021 and the CEL came on. Personally had my husband, CAT Certified Diesel Mechanic run the codes. To witch P062A Circuit "A" Fuel Pump Range/Performance Code was given. Truck was parked and dealership, Vance Dodge Miami, OK was called. Truck taken on December 28,2021. Told the tech before hand while our daughters Nitro was getting fixed when he got my truck to go through it and make sure no other issues. Once truck was there few days later they called telling me that I had 4 broken Exhaust Manifold Bolts, needed another new battery, and CEL was on due to Fuel Pressure Switch failure. Picked truck up Jan 6, 2022. Did not even get out of city limits when CEL back on. Drove it 15 miles home. Changed the battery with brand new one. CEL back on, called dealership, requested Manager. Told to bring back in the following Monday. Truck back @ dealership Jan 10, 2022 just picked back up Feb 2,2022 to witch CEL IS STILL ON. after a month they fixed a 200 dollar connector behind the driver wheel and it still has not fixed the frickin issue. Now it's still throwing P062A code. Dealership acted as if they was beyond annoyed by me & my truck. Will yet again call them Monday. And now my exhaust is rattling that they just had off. I have paid out of pocket for all these repairs and they are getting beyond expensive and I'm not the only one with these issues. My truck has had all work done when suggested if not before. As well as the original owner who I know. My truck is not abused or neglected. I don't put cheap parts on it either, had I had been able to find ARP Manifold Bolts it would have gotten them .. This is getting beyond ridiculous.. Something needs to be done I spent way too much money for my truck to have all these issues. BTW, my truck is paid for I owe $0.00
While driving, the vehicle began to decelerate. As the gas pedal was pressed, the vehicle continued to slow down. I had to pull over and get a tow. The truck acted as if it was not getting any fuel. It only has 60,000 miles and is a 2016 Ecodiesel engine. My life was put at risk because it abruptly decreased speed in ongoing traffic. The mechanic found metal shavings in the fuel filter and says the entire fuel system needs to be replaced. The engine light appeared on the dash and the vehicle slowed simultaneously.
Fuel sensor has failed which appears to be a common problem with the 2016 Ram 1500, this is a very expensive fix for people on a fixed income for a part that has a history of failing. The dealer wants to charge in excess of $800.00 dollars for this repair installing the same part they know is going to fail in time. There are many blogs on the internet stating that the part fails at random miles. Imagine being out on the road and running out of gas in the middle of nowhere as you do not have the financial means to get this repaired. This part should be recalled and repaired as other parts are such as the air bag that might explode. This is very concerning for individuals that are paying for this repair. Thank you.
Vehicle recently began refusing to accept fuel, nearly stranding me on a road trip with no way to drive it. Tested on multiple pumps/stations and filling positions, and the problem persists. Cannot get more than 1/4 gallon of fuel into the tank without the pump shutting off automatically.
Ram 1500 Fuel Sensor malfunctions over time providing an empty reading when fuel level is well above zero. Part is poorly designed and can lead to confusion as to the actual fuel reading. In researching this issue, it appears that many other RAM 1500 owners are experiencing the same issue -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jlJjR2cDck.
Engine speed surged while pulling into parking space. Bringing to dealer to have checked. No warning, or codes given. $1500 in damages to my vehicle and probably the same to the parked car in front of me. Worried about my safety now with this sudden acceleration.
I HAVE A 2016 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL. THE COMPUTER WAS REPROGRAMMED TO COMPLY WITH THE EMISSIONS LAWSUIT BROUGHT AGAINST FCA. AFTER THIS UPDATE, THE VEHICLE FUEL MILEAGE DROPPED ABOUT 18% WHICH IS LESS THAN THE ADVERTISED MILEAGE. THE VEHICLE ALSO LOST POWER (I HAVE NO WAY OF MEASURING) BUT A NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE WHEN TOWING. LAST BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, THERE IS A TERRIBLE THROTTLE RESPONSE LAG WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED SOME NEAR CRASH SCENARIOS FOR ME WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT ON A BUSY ROAD. SPECIFICALLY, WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR WHILE ROLLING WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD, THE THROTTLE MUST BE PUSHED BETWEEN 3/4 AND FULL TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RESPOND (I'VE READ THIS IS CAUSED BY THE COLD TURBINE). THIS OCCURS EVERY DAY WITH THE MASTERS NEAR ACCIDENT OCCURRING TODAY WHILE LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO 3 DIFFERENT DEALERS AND MADE COMPLAINTS DIRECTLY TO FCA WITH NO SATISFACTORY ANSWERS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS.

WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET 2 RECALLS REPAIRED TO OUR VEHICLE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. I CALLED THIS WEEK AND THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THEY WERE A YEAR OUT FOR SCHEDULING AND WERE ONLY DOING 1 RECALL REPAIR PER WEEK. MY TRUCK IS RUNNING POORLY (NO ACCELERATION, ENGINE IS STRUGGLING. RUNS OK WHILE STATIONARY BUT STRUGGLES TO OPERATE WHEN MOVING BE IT CITY OR HIGHWAY.) AND WITH ONLY ONE DEALERSHIP AVAILABLE I AM AT A LOSS. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO?
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR OVER TWO YEARS AND HAVE ASKED SEVERAL TIME TO HAVE RECALL 19V-757 FIXED. I GET THE SAME ANSWER THAT CHRYSLER WILL ONLY ALOW THEM TO GET A CERTIAN NUMBER OF PARTS TO DO THESE REPAIRS. THEY CAN PUT ME ON A LIST TO GET THEM REPAIRED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THERE IS A RECALL IT SHOULD BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY NOT WHEN THEY GET AROUND TO IT. TWO YEARS IS NOT GETTING IT REPAIRED IN A TIMELY MANNER!
AFTER DIESEL EMISSION MODIFICATION TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY ROUGH AND JUMPS VEHICLE WHEN COLD. IT SENDS WHEELS INTO SPINOUT WHEN ENTERING ROADS WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS. FUEL ECONOMY ALSO FELL FROM AVERAGE OF 23-24MPG TO BELOW 21MPG. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP 3 TIMES ALREADY. THE SHOP WILL "RESET" THE COMPUTER, BUT THE ISSUE COMES BACK WITHIN A FEW DAYS. NEED A PERMANENT FIX.
THE FUEL GAGE INTERMITTENTLY DROPS TO ZERO FUEL WHE THE TANK IS APPROXIMATELY HALF FULL OR LESS. BASED ON NUMEROUS SEARCHES THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL ITEM.

MY TRUCKS GAS PUMP ICON STARTED FLASHING AFTER THE WARNING DINGER WENT OFF ON MY 2016 RAM 1500 CREW CAB SPORT. I THEN NOTICED MY GAS GAUGE SHOWED EMPTY. I CHECKED MY TRIP METER AND SAW THAT ONLY 86 MILES HAD BEEN DRIVEN SINCE I LAST FILLED UP. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM ANCHORAGE AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PASS . IT WAS LATE, DARK AND SNOWING WITH NO CELL SERVICE AND NO GAS STATIONS FOR MILES, NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS STRESSED OUT UNTILL I HAD MY TRUCK SCANNED THE NEXT DAY, AND THE ACTIVE CODE IS P0463, FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND IT SEEMS TO BE AN INHERENT PROBLEM WITH MANY DODGE VEHICLES, NOT JUST TRUCKS. I FEEL THE COMPANY SHOULD RECALL THEIR INFERIOR PARTS AND ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER HAS ONE IN STOCK FOR $197.90 BEFORE TAXES AND INSTALLATION. PROBABLY AT LEAST 3 HOURS LABOR. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR INVESTIGATING MY COMPLAINT.

I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO A DEALER BECAUSE THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WOULDN'T CLEAN ITSELF. I FOUND OUT THERE WERE RECALLS PERTAINING TO THIS AND THEY WERE HANDLED AS FAR AS I KNEW. HOWEVER, JUST A FEW WEEKS LATER AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AT HOME I NOTICED SMOKE BARRELING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I IMEDIATELY TRIED TO SHUT IT OFF AND WHEN I DID IT WOULD REV UP HIGHER INSTEAD OF SHUTTING OFF. I GOT IT TO SHUT OFF FINALLY AND LEFT IT SITTING THERE OVERNIGHT UNTIL I COULD GET A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOW SO COMMON THAT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND NO IDEA OF WHEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO GET IT. 2016 RAM ECODIESEL 60,000 MILES I RECENTLY ACCEPTED THE OFFER FROM RAM FOR EMISSIONS RECALL ON MY ECODIESEL. I AGREED TO IT THINKING THAT WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT THEY OFFERED THAT MY PROBLEMS WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF. PART OF THE RECALL WAS TO HAVE THE AEM UPDATE DONE TO YOUR TRUCK. AFTER THE DEALER INSTALLED THIS WHICH I BELIEVE IT WAS JUST AN ECM REFLASH MY TRUCK GETS WORSE FUEL ECONOMY AND SOMETIMES WILL START AND THE RPMS WILL SLOWLY CREEP DOWN UNTIL THE TRUCK DIES. IF I KEEP RESTARTING THE ENGINE IT WILL EVENTUALLY STAY RUNNING AFTER 10 OR 15 MINUTES IDLING. NORMALLY DOES IT WHEN YOU ARE ON A TIME CRUNCH. MY ENGINE HAS ALWAYS CONSUMED A LOT OF ENGINE COOLANT. WAS ON A TRIP WITH MY FAMILY AND THE HEAT QUIT WORKING. I STOPPED AT A PARTS STORE AND PURCHASED A GALLON OF ANTIFREEZE AND IT TOOK THE WHOLE GALLON TO FILL IT BACK UP TO THE RESOVOIR. I HAVE HAD TO ADD COOLANT AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH. HAVE PROBABLY ADDED 4 GALLONS IN THE LAST YEAR.ACCELERATION IS VERY SLUGGISH AT TIMES. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO DO IT. I RECENTLY TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER FOR THE STARTING PROBLEM AND THE COOLANT CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. I WAS FLOORED WHEN THE SERVICE WRITER CALLED AND SAID THAT RAM IS AWARE OF THESE PROBLEMS BUT THERE IS CURRENTLY NO FIX AND GAVE ME FREE ANTIFREEZE! I COULD UNDERSTAND THIS IF THE TRUCK WAS BRAND NEW BUT IT'S 4 YEARS OLD. THERE SHOULD BE A FIX BY NOW! I AM PAYING $500 A MONTH FOR A VEHICLE THAT MAY OR MAY NOT START. IT MAY OR MAY NOT MOVE WHEN I HIT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND IT STILL USES ANTIFREEZE. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS TRUCK AND RAM NOT HOLDING UP TO THEIR END OF THE DEAL. IF I KNEW WHAT I KNOW NOW I WOULD'VE OPTED OUT OF THEIR OFFER. ALL OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AND RAM NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR NEGLECT OF THESE PROBLEMS. MY TRUCK IS A DEATH TRAP!

I NEED HELP WITH A SAFETY ISSUE AFTER RECALL V08 EPA & CARB EMISSIONS MODIFICATION. SINCE THE PROGRAM WAS UPDATED, I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERE HESITATION UPON ACCELERATION. THIS HESITATION IS SO SEVERE THAT I CANNOT SAFELY PULL INTO TRAFFIC WITHOUT RISKING AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER TWICE SINCE SEPTEMBER 2019 AND HAVE MADE NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO THE DEALER AND FCA. I WAS TOLD FROM THE DEALER THAT THE HESITATION IS VERY APPARENT, THAT FCA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AS IT IS WIDE SPREAD, AND FCA IS WORKING ON AN UPDATE TO THE PROGRAM. HOWEVER, THERE IS NOT A TIME FRAME FOR WHEN THERE WILL BE A FIX. AFTER NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO THE DEALER AND FCA WITH NO RESOLUTION, I SENT AN EMAIL TO REID BIGLAND, HEAD OF RAM BRAND, BUT HAVE HEARD NOTHING IN RESPONSE. CONSIDERING THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE HESITATION, AND THE POTENTIAL SAFETY RISKS, I FIND THE LACK OF URGENCY TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND NONCHALANT RESPONSES TO MY CONCERNS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. WILL YOU PLEASE HELP ME IN OBTAINING A RESOLUTION TO THIS SAFETY CONCERN? IF NEEDED, I CAN PROVIDE MY SERVICE RECORDS AND THE DETAILED LETTER THAT I SENT MR. BIGLAND
THE EPA REQUIRED UPDATE TO MY 2016 RAM 1500 ECO DIESEL HAS CAUSED TWO ISSUES AND THE FIRST IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF ECO DIESEL OWNERS. AFTER THE UPDATE TO THE EGR THE TRUCK HAS A COLD LAG IN TAKE OFF OF UP TO 7 SECONDS WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE LOSS OF 4 MPG FUEL ECONOMY. WE THE OWNERS ARE REQUESTING THAT CHRYSLER RETURN THE VEHICLES BACK TO THE OLD PROGRAMMING UNTIL A FIX CAN BE DEVELOPED. I AM AFRAID SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED BEFORE THE ISSUE IS ADDRESSES. CAN YOU HELP US IN THIS MATTER?

AFTER THE MANDATORY AEM UPDATE THE TRUCK LOST ACCELERATION POWER AND MPG WENT WAY DOWN. I WAS TOLD THE TRUCKS PERFORMANCE WOULD STAY EXACTLY THE SAME. IN REALITY THE TRUCK TURNED INTO A SLUG. ALSO RECEIVED A RECALL ABOUT POSSIBLE FIRES DUE TO EGR COOLER LEAKING COOLANT. FCA TOLD ME UNTIL A THERE'S A FIX TO CARRY A JUG OF COOLANT AND CONTINUE TO REFILL AS NEEDED. I THINK THAT'S RIDICULOUS, THE TRUCK IS 4 YEARS OLD.
2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, CHECKED ENG LIGHT CAME ON, LOW FUEL SENSOR FAILED, FUEL GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY, TRUCK RUNS FINE, DOES NOT MATTER IF DRIVING ON STREETS OR HIGHWAY, VERY CONCERNED I DONT RUN OUT OF GAS, I HAVE TO FILL UP EVERY WEEK, PRAYING FOR A RECALL TO HAVE THIS MECHANICAL FAILURE FIX QUICKLY

RAM 2016 ECODIESEL IS THE SUBJECT OF RECALL VB1 REGARDING THREAT OF FIRE FROM FAULTY EGR VALVE. THE NHTSA RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED IN OCTOBER AND NOW THE BEST ESTIMATE OF A FIX HAS BEEN DELAYED FROM DECEMBER 13 TO APRIL. THAT'S TOO LONG TO PARK THIS VEHICLE. FCA TOLD ME WHEN I CALLED TO CARRY A JUG OF COOLANT WITH ME TO REFILL AS NEEDED. I WOULD THINK I WOULD HAVE TO DO THIS ON A 3 YEAR OLD TRUCK.

I PURCHASED A NEW 2106 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL IN 2016 FROM A DEALER. THERE WAS AN EMISSIONS RECALL FOR WHICH I TOOK TO THE DEALER AND HAD DONE ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER. SINCE THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED I HAVE HAD A SERIOUS LAG IN ACCELERATION. THERE IS NOW A 3 TO 4 SECOND DELAY AT 3/4 THROTTLE BEFORE THE TRUCK TAKES OFF IN A LURCH. I ASKED THE DEALER HOW THIS CAN BE FIXED TO ACCELERATE AS BEFORE THE RECALL AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT UNDO THE COMPUTER CHANGES. I LIVE OFF A BUSY STREET AND TRYING TO FLOW INTO TRAFFIC IS A REAL CHALLENGE AND A SAFETY HAZARD. I'M AFRAID TO LEND MY TRUCK TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY HAZARD AND WANTED TO MAKE SURE A COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED.
Mileage: 36,500
THE FUEL GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY WHEN IT IS FULL. BAD FUEL SENSOR. IT BASICALLY BOUNCES AROUND WHEN I FILL IT UP AND THEN RETURNS TO EMPTY. THE DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGES THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. I CAN'T ALLOW MY WIFE AND FOUR CHILDREN TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCES IF THEY DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE TANK. EXTREME SAFETY CONCERN IN DESERT AREA. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AT A LARGE SCALE.
Mileage: 63,000
VEHICLE IS THREE YEARS OLD WITH ROUGHLY 41K MILES. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, CODE READS FUEL PUMP. LIGHT GOES OUT. WEEK OR TWO LATER TRUCK INFO MENU SAYS FUEL SENSOR ERROR AND GAUGE READS EMPTY. RESEARCHED AND SEEN THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH SIMILAR YEAR MODELS. EVEN DEALERSHIP CONFIRMS THIS. THIS WILL COST 1K TO FIX AS WELL AS A WHOLE DAY AT THE SHOP. WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL? I'VE NEVER HEARD OF FUEL SENSORS OR PUMPS GOING BAD THIS EARLY. THIS ISSUE ISN'T COVER UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. IT IS UNDER BUMPER TO BUMPER BUT I'M OUT OF LUCK AS IT'S THREE YEAR/36K MILES. ENGINE LIGHT/SENSOR/GAUGE ISSUE OCCURED WHEN CRANKING IT UP. I TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON AND THE GAUGE WENT TO THE APPROPRIATE LEVEL ALTHOUGH ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. I USE 87 FUEL.

WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THE GAS GAUGE GETS BELOW A HALF TANK THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON, THEN THE GAS GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY, AND THEN THE LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON. TEN FUEL SENSOR FAIL.

THIS VEHICLE HAS A 3.0 ECO DIESEL ENGINE. CHRYSLER HAD A RECALL TO UPDATE THIS ENGINE WHICH I HAD THEM DO. EVER SINCE THE UPDATE THERE HAS BEEN A LONG PAUSE AFTER PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR TILL THE ENGINE SPEEDS UP. THIS OFTEN TIMES RESULTS IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN PULLING OUT TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. WE LIVE NEAR A BUSY ROUND ABOUT AND WHEN PUSHING ON THE GAS TO ENTER, NOTHING HAPPENS SO YOU PUSH DOWN MORE, THEN ALL AT ONCE IT TAKES OFF LIKE A BULLET AND YOU HOPE YOU DON'T HIT SOMEBODY. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT IT. I HAVE CALLED THE RECALL NUMBER AT RAM AND DIDN'T GET ANYWHERE THERE EITHER. THE DEALER SAID THEY GET A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS BUT THERE IS NO FIX. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I NOTICED MESSAGE ON INSTRUMENT PANEL STATING FUEL SENSOR FAILED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND FUEL NEEDLE WENT FROM 3/ 4 FULL TO EMPTY, AND BACK TO 3/ 4 FULL TO BACK TO EMPTY, WITH ANOTHER MESSAGE STATING LOW FUEL

I HEARD TICKING COMING FROM THE MOTOR FOLLOWED BY A LOUD POP AND THEN LOST ALL POWER NO GAS RESPONSE AND COASTED TO BREAKDOWN LANE JUST BARLEY GOT MI WIFE OUT OF THE TRUCK AND THE TRUCK WAS FULLY ELGUFFED.

AFTER AN EMISSIONS UPDATE WAS MADE TO MY VEHICLE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION ON JUNE 4, 2019, THE THROTTLE IS UNRESPONSIVE, THE DIESEL EXHAUST REGENERTION SYSTEM NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AND MY FUE ECONOMY HAS DROPPED OVER 10 MPG. IT IS OUT-OF-SERVICE AND UNDRIVEABLE. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES OVER THE LAST 4 MONTHS, AND HAS BEEN THERE SINCE AUGUST 1, 2019. I AM BEING TOLD THERE IS NO FIX.
1. ON 9/20 I RECEIVED FROM FCA DEALER THE RECALL UPDATE AGREED TO UPON SETTLEMENT WITH THE EPA. 2. WHILE DRIVING ON 9/21 I WAS AT A STOP AND NEEDED TO CHANGED LANES. 3. WHEN I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR THE ENGINE STALLED AND BARELY MOVED THE VEHICLE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS BEFORE PICKING UP AND MOVING NORMALLY. 4. HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE BEEN ON COMING IT COULD HAVE CREATED A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON A MAJOR ROAD AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION. 5. I HEREBY EXERT THAT THE "FIX" FOR THE EMISSIONS BY FCA IS NOW CREATING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR "OWNERS" WHO HAVE RECEIVED THIS THIS RECALL "FIX" 6. ADDITIONALLY IT APPEARS FUEL MILEAGE IS ALSO DROPPING ABOUT 5%-10% 7. RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET I AM FINDING THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. 8. SOMETIMES THE CRUISE CONTROL FUNCTIONS SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT, I HAVE REPEATEDLY TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR THIS COMPLAINT BUT THEY SAY THEY CANNOT FIND ANY ISSUE. 9. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT NHSTA GET VEHICLES BEFORE AND AFTER THE "FIX" AND DO SUBSTANTIAL TESTING, AS IT IS NOT 100% OF THE TIME AND ISSUE AND MAY BE HARD TO REPLICATE. 10. OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE AFFECTED - LOWER PERFORMANCE AND LESS TORQUE 11.IF FUEL MILEAGE IS DOWN AND PERFORMANCE IS DOWN I WOULD SUSPECT THAT EMISSIONS MAY ACTUALLY BE WORSE THAN PRIOR TO THE "FIX" BEING IMPLEMENTED.
Mileage: 57,700
AFTER THE RECALL, MY RAM ECODIESEL HAS NO POWER AT ALL, IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE UNTIL IT GETS UP TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE. EVEN THEN, IT IS VERY SLUGGISH, SOMETIMES DANGEROUSLY SLOW LIKE WHEN TURNING LEFT WITH ON-COMING TRAFFIC. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE BEFORE THE AEM RECALL DUE TO THE EMISSIONS ISSUE. WHILE MINE HAS NOT DOE THIS, I AM PART OF A GROUP OF ADDITIONAL OWNERS, OF WHICH AN ALARMING NUMBER HAVE CAUGHT FIRE POST AEM RECALL. ALSO A VERY HIGH NUMBER OF ENGINE FAILURES. I AM CONCERNED THERE ARE MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS, AND NOW THIS LATEST UPDATE SIMPLY MAKES IT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.
Mileage: 32,000
V08 RECALL FLASH HAS MADE MY TRUCK MORE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THERE IS AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF LAG FROM THE ENGINE AND TURBO WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I AM THE SECOND OWNER, BOUGHT ON 7/24/19 AND THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE ALREADY!
Mileage: 58,500
I OWN A 2016 RAM 1500 ECO DIESEL. I RECENTLY GOT A RECALL (V08 I BELIEVE) THAT GREATLY EFFECTED THE THROTTLE RESPONSE AND FUEL MILEAGE ON MY TRUCK. I LOVE ON A BEND ON A STATE HIGHWAY AND IT HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME TO PULL OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. WHEN I PRESS THE THROTTLE THERE IS A GOOD 5 SECOND DELAY BEFORE THE TRUCK ACCELERATES. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AS FCA HAS NOTIFIED DEALERS THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I TOOK MY TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES AND THAT IS THE RESPONSE THEY GAVE ME. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK THERE WERE NO ACCELERATION ISSUES AND THE FUEL MILEAGE WAS 4-5MPG GREATER BEFORE THIS COMPUTER UPDATE. PLEASE FACILITATE A FIX FOR THIS BEFORE I GET HIT LEAVING MY HOUSE OR TURNING ONTO ANY STREET.

I HAD TO BRAKE IMMEDIATELY THINKING GASOLINE WAS LEAKING. IT WAS A DANGEROUS STOP AND I ALMOST GOT HIT BY OTHER CARS. LUCKILY I ONLY GOT MINOR SCRATCH WHEN TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I SEARCHED THROUGH INTERNET AND SURPRISINGLY THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SO COMMON SO MANY YEARS EVEN WITH NEW TRUCK MODELS. PLEASE MAKE IT A RECALL AND DON'T LET IT ROLL INTO THE NEW MODELS.

I PURCHASED MY DIESEL 2016 DODGE LARAMIE FROM DEALERSHIP 6 MONTHS AGO. ON THE STICKER IS STATED I WOULD GET AROUND 26 HIGHWAY MILEAGE AND AROUND 19 IN CITY. I WAS ACTUALLY GETTING THIS FUEL MILEAGE UNTIL I RECEIVED A EMISSION RECALL LETTER AND TOOK MY VEHILE IN TO HAVE A RECALL PART REPLACED. NOW I AM ONLY GETTING AROUND 18 HIGHWAY AND 14 CITY SINCE PART WAS REPLACED. I HAVE SINCE TAKEN IT TO 3 DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE THEM FIND THE PROBLEM AND ALL THEY CAN SAY IS THAT IT MUST BE THE RECALLED PART CAUSING THE LOWER FUEL MILEAGE. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS AN INJUSTICE AS I AM NOT GETTING THE STICKER GUARANTEED MILEAGE SINCE RECALL WAS FIXED. I WOULD LIKE THIS CORRECTED

V08 AEM RECALL PERFORMED ON 6/4/19. POST RECALL, LOSS IN FUEL ECONOMY, REDUCED POWER ESPECIALLY WHEN TOWING, AND SEVERE TURBO LAG LASTING FOUR TO SEVEN SECONDS. THE SEVERE TURBO LAG IS CAUSING UNSAFE CONDITIONS WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE. THE LACK OF ACCELERATION WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS PRESSED IS PRESENT WHEN STARTING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, AS WELL AS AT VARYING TRAVEL SPEEDS. IT IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS ON CITY STREETS OR WHEN MERGING INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC, BECAUSE THERE IS LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE, EVEN UNDER FULL THROTTLE FOR BETWEEN FOUR AND SEVEN SECONDS. THE LAG IS SEVERE EVEN AT FULL OPERATING TEMPERATURES ABOVE 200 DEGREES. THESE ISSUES WERE NOT PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE V08/AEM RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER HAS INSISTED THAT THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE AFTER THE V08 AEM RECALL, BUT THE VEHICLE OPERATED WITHOUT THESE ISSUES BEFORE THE WORK WAS COMPLETED.
Mileage: 32,000
THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP, I PURCHASED IT CERTIFIED USED FROM A RAM DEALER WITH 30K ON IT. IT RUNS AND DRIVES FINE BUT WHEN IT IS COLD AND OUT OF THE BLUE IT HAS COMPLETE DEAD PEDAL. THE TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE, IT HAS ALMOST NO THROTTLE RESPONSE AND IT NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL ITS WARM I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES, EVEN A SLOW UNDER POWERED MOPED WOULD SCOOT FASTER THAN THIS TRUCK WHEN ITS NOT UP TO OPERATING TEMP. THIS HAS ALL TAKEN PLACE AFTER THE EMISSIONS UPDATE DONE TO THE TRUCK BEFORE PREDELIVERY. I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS GOING TO DRIVE LIKE THIS I HAVE BANNED FAMILY AND FRIENDS FROM DRIVING IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT DRIVES AS IT SHOULD "POST UPDATE" THE LACK OF PEDAL RESPONSE IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES, DEALER SAYS ITS FINE AND HAS AN PERFECT MAINTENANCE HISTORY. TODAY IT WAS A BIT COOLER OUTSIDE THAN IT HAS BEEN IN RECENT MONTHS, KNOWING THE TRUCKS CHARACTERISTICS I USED REMOTE START TO WARM IT UP. IT RAN FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES BEFORE I LEFT, I DROVE DOWN ABOUT A 1000FT PRIVATE ROAD TO A 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY THAT I PULL OUT ONTO SEVERAL TIMES A DAY AND HAVE BEEN FOR TWO DECADES. NO CARS WERE COMING EXCEPT A WHITE MAZDA ABOUT TWO FIRELANES AWAY FROM ME SO MORE THAN ENOUGH ROOM, I COULD HAVE WALKED ACROSS THE ROAD. I PRESSED THE PEDAL AND THH TRUCK FELL ON ITS FACE AND TOPPED OUT AT 10 MPH UNTIL I MADE IT TO THE CENTER MEDIAN TO COMPLETE MY LEFT TURN. THE VEHICLE HAS TO MOVE INTO THE RIGHT LANE TO AVOID HITTING ME, THEY WERE BEING ABUNDANTLY CAUTIOUS BUT THIS IS NOT HOW A VEHICLE SHOULD RESPOND TO THROTTLE INPUT DURING WARM UP OR NOT. IT IS A DIESEL AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THEM MY WHOLE LIFE, I KNOW THEIR COLD BEHAVIOR AND THIS VEHICLE IS BROKEN. FCA SAYS ITS NORMAL.

AFTER AN EMISSIONS RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON ECO DIESEL ENGINE (ECM UPDATE) THE ENGINE HAS BECOME TERRIBLY SLUGGISH ON INITIAL TAKEOFF. I CAN PUSH THE GAS PETAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENS FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THERE IS INCONSISTENT ENGINE PERFORMANCE THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

FUEL SENSOR FAILURE. THE SENDING UNIT WHICH MEASURES FUEL LEVEL FAILED WHILE IN MOTION. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE FUEL TANK HAD TO BE DROPPED TO REPLACE THE SENSOR. ANOTHER RAM ECODIESEL POST-AEM SAFETY CONCERN. DID THE AEM RECALL AND INSTANTLY BECAME A SAFETY HAZARD IN TRAFFIC. EXTREME THROTTLE LAG OF 4+ SECONDS, EVEN IF FLOORING IT. TOO MANY CLOSE CALLS TO LIST MYSELF AND I DON'T LET ME WIFE DRIVE UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY (IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HER TRUCK!!). RECALL MAY BE MONETARY AND SUCH BUT THE ISSUE IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND WILL RESULT IN MUCH LARGER ISSUES. I'VE WORKED AS A RISK MANAGEMENT SAFETY OFFICER; THIS WILL LEAD TO A BIGGER PROBLEM. EPA OR NOT, THIS "AEM FIX" IS WRONG! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET INVOLVED AND FORCE A RECALL TO FIX THE LACK OF THROTTLE RESPONSE ON THESE VEHICLES. FOR WHAT ITS WORTH, I FOUND OUT THAT I AM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY OF THE CLAIM $$ BECAUSE MY TRUCK WAS BUILT IN CANADA. GOD BLESS THE AMERICAN RAM BADGE, HUH!
Mileage: 65,000
THE DAY I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, LITERALLY ON THE DRIVE HOME ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER SIGNING THE PAPERWORK, THE FUEL GAUGE SUDDENLY DROPPED TO EMPTY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE MESSAGE CENTER INDICATED A "FUEL SENSOR FAIL".. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AS SOON AS I STOPPED, THE GAUGE ROSE BACK TO 3/4 TANK AND THE ISSUE DIDN'T PRESENT ITSELF AGAIN FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. NOW, EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK, THE FUEL GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY RIGHT ABOUT THE TIME IT SHOULD READ 3/4 TANK AND STARTS WORKING AGAIN AT ABOUT 1/4 TANK. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS SPREAD OUT OVER SO MANY MODEL YEARS, I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS HASN'T GENERATED A RECALL. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED WITH JUST OVER 36,000 MILES ON IT. I NOW HAVE JUST UNDER 41,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND HAVE NO IDEA JUST HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE VEHICLE.
Mileage: 36,000
MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF A RECENT ECODIESEL SETTLEMENT THAT REQUIRED A RECALL AND RE-FLASH OF THE VEHICLES ECM. FCA STATED THAT THE RECALL RE-FLASH WOULD NOT AFFECT THE VEHICLES PERFORMANCE. THAT IS NOT THE CASH. MY VEHICLE NOW HAS A SEVERE THROTTLE HESITATION WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP. PULLING INTO OR MERGING INTO EXISTING TRAFFIC HAS BECOME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS CONDITION SINCE THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED.
Mileage: 38,500
SINCE THE FCA ECM RE-FLASH, MY TRUCK TURBO LAG IS NOW DEADLY, WHEN THE ENGINE GETS PAST THE TURBO LAG IT WILL SMOKE THE TIRES, BUT DON'T BACK OFF OR YOU START ALL OVER AGAIN WITH TURBO LAG. IVE PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND WAITED FOR THE LAG TO CATCH UP, NEARLY BEING HIT ALMOST EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. FORGET DRIVING UP HILLS. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED. IF IT HAD DRIVEN LIKE THIS WHEN I TEST DROVE IT, I NEVER WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT! MY FAMILY HAS LITERALLY YELLED WATCH OUT DAD! WHEN I TRY TO PULL INTO EVEN MILD TRAFFIC FROM A STOP.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE A 2016 DODGE RAM 1500 WITH 33000 MILES ON IT.THE OTHER DAY MY GAS LIGHT CAME SO I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THINKING I HAD A LEAK BECAUSE I JUST FILLED UP THE DAY BEFORE THEN I GOT A MESSAGE ON THE DASH THAT SAID FUEL SENSOR FAIL SO I WENT ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT IT IS A VERY COMMON KNOWN PROBLEM THAT DODGE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING TO FIX AFTER READING UP ON IT I FULLY BELIEVE THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE RECALLED AND RESOLVED
Mileage: 33,000
I HAVE A 2016 RAM ECODIESEL THAT HAD NO PERFORMANCE ISSUES PRIOR TO THE RECALL. IT IS NOW VERY SLUGGISH, LACKS POWER AND IS SLOW GETTING TO SPEED, ALSO HUNTS/SEARCHES FOR GEARS. IT HAS BECOME A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN ACCELERATING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. I HAVE LOGGED A COMPLAINT WITH FCA AND MY CASE NUMBER IS #59458742.
Mileage: 60,000
THERE WAS A NATIONWIDE RECALL ON THE ECODIESEL ENGINE DUE TO A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT. THE REPAIR WAS MADE AND NOW THE TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE UNTIL THE ENGINE WARMS UP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS YOU PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND THE TRUCK DOES NOT GO. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT AS TRUCK STALLS AND THEN ACCELERATES A FULL 4-5 SECONDS LATER. I WILL NOT LET ANYONE ELSE DRIVE MY TRUCK NOW DUE TO THIS DANGER. IN CHECKING WITH OTHER OWNERS EVERYONE WHO HAS THE "UPDATE" DONE PER THE LAWSUIT IS HAVING THE SAME DANGEROUS PROBLEM. TO BE SPECIFIC, WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD, YOU HIT THE ACCELERATOR, THE TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE FOR 4-5 SECONDS. THIS CAUSES YOU TO ROLL SLOWLY INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
Mileage: 25,000
AFTER HAVING THE EMISSION RECALL COMPETED ON MY 2016 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL I AM EXPERIENCING MAJOR POWER LOSS IN CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS. THIS CONDITION INCLUDES REDUCED THROTTLE RESPONSE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AFTER COLD STARTING. SINCE THIS RECALL THERE IS SIGNIFICANT LAG IN THE THROTTLE LEADING TO TRAFFIC HAVING TO SLOW DOWN BECAUSE I'M NOT ACCELERATING. I CAN PUSH THE THROTTLE TO THE FLOOR AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE RPM INCREASE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS AFTER EVERY COLD START AND THERE IS A LARGER LAG IF THE AIR CONDITIONER IS ON. THIS THROTTLE LAG ONLY STARTED OCCURRING AFTER THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED AND HAS OCCURRED REGULARLY SINCE.
Mileage: 52,000
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILURE, CAUSES FUEL GAUGE TO READ ZERO AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. FIRST GAUGE WILL READ INCORRECTLY THEN FALL TO JUST READING ZERO, HAPPENS IN ALL CONDITIONS OF DRIVING AND VEHICLE RUNNING. ITS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THE RAM 1500. REQUIRES FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY TO BE REPLACED AS THE SENSOR IS BUILT INTO THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY.
Mileage: 45,000
RECEIVED A RECALL TO INSTALL AEM COMPUTER UPDATE. SINCE THE UPDATE I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ACCELERATION DELAYS FROM A STOP THERE IS A 3-5 SEC DELAY IN ACCELERATION. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD TRYING TO MERGE I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD A # OF TIMES TO AVOID A REAR END ACCIDENT. IN ADDITION MY GAS MILEAGE HAS ALSO BEEN DECREASED FROM AN AVERAGE OF 18-20 MPG DOWN TO 14-16 MPG. THIS PROBLEM AFTER THE AEM UPDATE MUST BE CORRECT QUICKLY AS DRIVING THE VEHICLE HAS BECOME DANGEROUS.
Mileage: 41,090
FILLED UP MY FUEL TANK AND AS YOU DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD YOUR FUEL GAGE CONTINUES TO GO UP AND DOWN. THEN YOUR LOW FUEL LIGHT GOES OFF. THEN YOU GET A FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CODE THAT COMES UP ON THE DASH. THESE WARNINGS BUZZERS CONTINUE TO GO OFF REGARDLESS IF THE TANK IS FULL.

"ECO DIESEL EMISSIONS UPDATE," UPON HAVING MY TRUCK ECM FLASHED WITH THE COURT SETTLEMENT EMISSION UPDATE, I HAVE OBSERVED SEVERE POWER LOSS. CHECK ENGINE, LOW FUEL INDICATOR, FUEL SENSOR FAILURE ERROR CODE, ALONG WITH THE RINGING ALARM THAT THERE WAS NO FUEL. I AM NOW IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF I35 TRAVELING 65 MPH AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT SHOULD I RISK CUTTING BACK ACROSS THE TRAFFIC I JUST MERGED WITH TO EXIT BEFORE I GET STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE LANE, OR RISK RUNNING OUT OF FUEL AND EXIT THE NEXT EXIT MORE SAFELY. I CHOSE TO CUT OFF THE TRAFFIC SO THAT I DIDN'T RISK GETTING STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THIS WAS DANGEROUS, AND I AM GLAD I DIDN'T HAVE MY KIDS IN THE TRUCK WITH ME. THESE FAULTY FUEL SENSORS THAT ARE ON THE FUEL PUMPS NEED REDESIGNED. MOPAR SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE BEFORE REAL TRAGEDY HAPPENS.

EVIDENTLY THIS HAPPENS ANYWHERE FROM 5,000 MILES AND UP. IT IS A $1000 REPAIR WHEN NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM COVERED AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES. HELLO, I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AND ASKED THEM ABOUT MY FUEL SENSOR, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON. SOMETIMES WHEN I FILL UP MY TANK IT GOES AWAY. THAT BEING SAID. I HAVE SEARCHED THE I GERBER TO FIND OUT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH OUR RAM TRUCKS. DESLERSHIP WILL NOT COVER NOW THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. IT IS GOING TO CHARGE US NEARLY 1000 DOLLARS TO FIX IT. SIMPLE FIX. MY TRUCK HAS ONLY 60,0000 MILES BRAND NEW. SOMETIMES IT GOES AWAY WHEN I AM DRIVING AND THAN IT REAPPEARS. PLEASE MAKE THIS A RECALL THAT WAY WE CAN GET IT FIX. IF NOT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO FIX IT MYSELF. THANK YOU.
AIR SUSPENSION HAS NEVER WORKED PROPERLY DURING WINTER MONTHS. HAD COMPRESSOR REPLACED IN 2-2018. IN THE LAST YEAR I HAVE EXPERIENCED A MINIMUM OF 12 INSTANCES WHERE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ADJUST RIDE HEIGHT WHICH I HAVE PHOTOS OF. WHEN I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE NO ONE TOLD ME IT WOULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY DURING THE COLD MONTHS. MOST RECENTLY I WAS IN TO HAVE THE AUTO PARK RECALL TAKEN CARE OF. SINCE THIS UPDATE MY TRUCK IS TOTAL CRAP. I HAVE LOST 3MPG IN FUEL MILEAGE, THE TRUCKSS SHIFT PATTERN AND RUNNING RPM'S HAVE CHANGED AND IT DRIVES LIKE I'M TOWING SOMETHING. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD TO GET AND AFTER MARKET PROGRAMMER TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. REALLY! SO WHEN I GO IN THE NEXT TIME THEY CAN VOID MY WARRANTY.
