2018 RAM 1500 Fuel/propulsion System Problems

The gas tank will not take fuel. Tried multiple pumps at multiple gas stations and the pump keeps turning off. You have to keep restarting the pump over and over again. If you look it up online, there are hundreds of people having the same issue and most cases seem to be a faulty rollover valve, the filler neck itself or a complete replacement of the gas tank. If someone isn’t monitoring the fuel level with the ignition on and they keep restarting the pump, they may over fill the tank and pump gas on the vehicle or themselves which is hazardous and could be potentially fatal.

The vehicle had a recall of a high-pressure fuel pump. I was driving on the freeway when the vehicle suddenly stopped. I had the vehicle towed to the closes dealership. I was told that at the time the manufacture did not have the parts to replace the fuel pump and the debris passed through the system damaging filter and the catalytic converter. I was told by the dealership mechanic that there were metal shavings through-out the system. They partially repaired it and once I went to register my vehicle at the DMV they wanted proof of the recall repair. I took the vehicle back but the dealership does not wish to repair the consequential damage the recall caused. I still do not have my vehicle or proof the vehicle is in a safe working condition. Dealership and Manufacture refuse to repair the vehicle.

1 of 2 Gas tank mounting straps released, rusted thru the frame and the gas tank was hanging by the rear strap only. could have been a huge fire risk if tank released and ruptured on the road.. has not been reported thru dealer yet, had same issue on my 2011 ram 1500 which was recalled to fix. only warning was seeing something hanging under my truck and hearing a new noise as the metal strap rubbed on the drive shaft.. i crawled underneath and found as described above.

Since purchasing my 2018 Dodge Ram brand new, I have experienced consistent issues while refueling. From day one, the fuel pump at gas stations would shut off multiple times during a fill-up, even when the tank was far from full. Initially, I believed this was an issue with individual gas stations or pumps. However, the problem has progressively worsened over time. At this point, the fuel pump shuts off more than 50 times during a single refueling attempt. It has become extremely difficult to fill the tank properly, and I have no reliable way of knowing when the tank is full. This issue frequently results in gasoline overflowing and spilling onto the ground, posing a serious safety hazard to myself and others, as well as an environmental concern. It also causes unnecessary fuel waste and stress during every refueling. After some research, I have learned that this issue may be related to the vapor canister or fuel system design, which has reportedly affected other Ram truck owners as well. I am filing this complaint to formally report the defect, urge investigation, and ensure Chrysler/Stellantis is held accountable for a resolution. This is a significant safety and environmental issue that should not be ignored.

The front fuel tank strap fell off and tank is now hanging. When looking at strap, I noticed the frame mount that holds strap was corroded/rusted and had snapped, causing strap to let go. This was a recall back in 2009-2012 on this same vehicle. This should be looked at ASAP and recalled. This is a safety issue. Thankfully I found this before tank dropped out while driving.

High pressure fuel pump failure while driving. This vehicle shows potential recall for this part but for some reason my vehicle is not listed in the system for this recall. I have a 2018 ecodiesel with the 3.0

Recall Z46 for the High Pressure Fuel Rail. Truck has been down for a month and was told today my truck is still not fixed and they have no clue when the parts will be coming in for the to get my truck done.

The vehicle started rattling currently its not starting i almost crashed a car in front of me, the truck is in jordan am not in the usa and the dodge local dealership refused to do the recalls stating that there is no support for diesel rams they even refused to provide the parts or the software… If this truck is not supported world wide why did they allowed its exportation kindly help me with this

Had the High flow fuel pump Changed and less than 400 miles had a catastrophic failure. Had to pay for a tow was told nothing is under warranty, even though it was caused all by a faulty fuel pump and caused other issues and was told by Stalantis that they do not cover calamity damage had to pay for PCM and injectors. My truck is still not fixed. My engine light is still on, brought it to three dealerships and nobody can figure it out. Also the deaf system is not functioning properly and had it replaced a 20,000 and at 70,000.

We purchased the RAM in September 2024. 5 times since our purchase, while filling the gas tank the pump nozzle has gotten stuck and extremely hard to remove from the gas tank. This last incident was on 2/9/25, prompting us to take the truck into Dodge where it is currently waiting to be looked at. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed and corrected as vehicles are very expensive to have these types of defects. It took 3 grown men to remove the nozzle from the tank.

We may have started a claim already reference number 1592940, this is the first I've been able to write out the details. On [XXX] we were driving through South Dakota on the freeway; which was cold but dry and clear with no hazards and within a mile everything happened or about 45-60 seconds First, it was like the gas wasn't getting through because RPMS went from normal to almost 5000. From there, my husband started losing driving power, so he started trying to pull over. Within seconds it seemed to lose engine power as were were pulling over to the shoulder. As we were pulling over the truck gave "loss oil pressure" and then died luckily as we just made it to the shoulder. If my husband had hesitated longer we would have been stalled on the freeway not able to start the truck again. The truck was towed to a local Ford dealership. The Mechanic said it may be a Ram recall but dropped it there and did not continue researching. We called the nearby Ram dealership where the mechanic said over the phone with out actually seeing the truck that is was not a recall. No one else has yet inspected the truck. I first need to know where I'm allowed to go to find an unbiased diagnoses and fair assessment. This was and is the only issue we have ever had with this truck. Maintenance was scheduled regularly, it was well taken care of and only had 110,000 miles on it. We have already had to pay for the towing to the dealership and also the towing from the dealership in South Dakota to home in Washington State to try and get this figured out. 2018 Dodge Ram Rebel won't take gas. Keeps shutting off at pump without filling (30 gal tank) took to dealer was told vapor/gas sensor issue - need to replace gas tank $3500 repair! Vehicle has 88000 miles no accidents. I am the original owner of this vehicle

When fueling my vehicle, whether my tank is empty or half full, the pump clicks off as it would if my tank was full. It can take 1/2 hour to get $10.00 worth of gas in my 33 gallon tank. The pump either stops or the gas bubbles up and spills all over my truck, on me and on the ground. If this were to happen and there was a lit cigarette on the ground or an open flame, a serious life threatening incident could occur. I spoke with someone in the parts department at Bedard Brothers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and he informed me that it’s on “The Bulletin” of potential problems with this vehicle but there’s no recall for it and there should be. I bought my truck in April 2024 and was not informed of this issue and now, as I live in New England where the winters are harsh, I find myself standing in the freezing cold trying to fuel my truck and my family is in the vehicle freezing because it it unsafe and illegal to let it run while I'm fueling it.

Cannot put fuel in tank… when trying to fill at gas station, the pump keeps kicking off and gas spills out the filler neck. This is a common and known issue with RAM trucks and the tanks should have been recalled.

Chrysler's 3.0L diesel engine have a high-pressure fuel pump with an open recall on them. A HPFP failure may introduce internally failed component debris into the fuel system and cause potential fuel starvation. In January of 2023, I attempted to remedy the situation with a RAM dealership in Aptos, California. The attached email chain shows that for 6 months, I was unable to receive parts for my 3.0L diesel engine. After a change in job opportunities, I ended up in Palmdale late November 2023, where I continued to pursue remediation at the RAM of the West Dealership in Lancaster. While I do not have a email thread on this, if you visit their store on 43226 10th St W, Lancaster, CA 93534, you find that they have an open ticket for this same recall that has been open since February 2024. I have had an open recall for 2 years now, which has prevented me from receiving a new registration sticker. My current RAM 1500, still has a sticker from 2022 despite me paying for all of my registration requirements. This has led to 3 tickets and a threat from law enforcement that they can take my truck. This has gone on long enough and I am demanded a solution.

On [XXX], at [XXX], my 2018 Dodge Ram Eco diesel engaged in fire. At this time, I called 911 and the Fire Department from which I obtained the fire report from respond and extinguish the fire. No police were ever dispatched. After exiting the vehicle, it seems like the vehicle was already on fire due to the progression of the fire already. I recently got the truck back from a local Dodge Dealership Cannon in Westpoint MS due to a high-pressure fuel pump recall. The truck also had another recall for failure of the EGR cooler. Which will result in possible fire according to their recall. Dodge motor company sent out an inspector who took numerous pictures and later determined by Dodge they were not at any negligence due to manufacturing of the vehicle, but unfortunately, I strongly disagree with their conclusion due to the numerous of incidents involving fire reported with the same particular make and model of the vehicle. Crank no start and vehicle stops running.

I bought a 2018 Ram 1500 and every time I would go to the gas pump It Gets air bound and doesn't fill up it takes 20 minutes to fill up my tank they put a new gas tank a new neck and everything else and it still does it

Magnetic tone wheel. Driving on the interstate and the truck stalled and would not restart. Had to get it towed.

I have been getting regular mailings from Fiat Chrysler warning about the safety danger regarding the High pressure fuel pump for almost 2 years now. When I contact the dealer I am assured they will fix it when the fuel pump "grenades", but as long as the truck is running I shouldn't expect anything to be done. I have no fewer than three notices for the fuel pump and at least two for the "loss of crankshaft position" with no indications that anything will be done soon. Doing the math it looks like I can expect to be driving a safety hazard around for at least another 3-4 years and trying to sell it, like this, is unlikely. It may be a voluntary recall but it is a reflection of involuntary repairs and the fact I continue to get notices from Fiat Chrysler about how important this is shows that they are only going through the motions of safety and customer service.

Recall was issued on June 9, 2022. As of today, 3/18/2024, this recall has not been fixed. Dealer claims: "Waiting for parts". Recall letter states: "Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning". Great! Good to know! And they can't fix it! This is a big problem for a lot of vehicles. These trucks don’t fuel well causing fuel to spill out of filler neck on ground or in my case all over me.

When trying to fill my tank with gas, the pump would automatically shut off. In order to fill my tank, I would have to pump the gas very slowly. This takes 15 minutes or more to fill my take. I checked to see if there were any recalls, however, there were 0 recalls. There were no warning lamps or other indicators associated with this problem.

manufacture won't bother to find fix for recall 22v-406 for 1 and 1/2 years

Unable to add fuel from any service station pump without the pump stopping many times. Unable to achieve a full tank of fuel. This is a known issue with Ram trucks and there are many complaints about this issue residing on the internet. This is a very unsafe situation, and the manufacture should correct this issue.

At 36,000 miles the fuel tank no longer would accept fuel. Dealer tried to manipulate fuel nozzle, but still didn't fix issue. I was stranded at gas stations trying to slow feed gas into the tank. I had to dribble in enough gas to make it to the dealer. Ultimate solution was to replace tank (outside of warranty). This was unsafe as I could have been stranded somewhere.

Truck is showing code p026c means truck is runing lean and it has to do with the fuel pump recall and parts are not yet available I need this issue fixed because I'll be getting station in germany

When driving the check engine light came on, the car slowed up and would not start after. I had the truck towed to the dealership. The service manager told me the high pressure fuel pump shattered and shot metal debris through the system. The High Pressure Fuel Pump is not available even though it is on a recall list. I contacted Chrysler customer service, the representative essentially told me there was nothing they can do because the part was not available.

Engine loss power then when is fully operational and stop at sing then then engine stalls the next thing happens suddenly accelerated.

I was driving down a country road with my kids in the car and my vehicle started to stall and then the engine turned off while the vehicle was still moving. Lucky I was not driving on a busy road and was able to get it safely off the roadway onto a dirt shoulder. The lightening bolt symbol on my truck was on as it was stalling. I contacted the dealership and was told there are no fixes for the recalls on my vehicle. They also related there are no loaner vehicles to give me. I do not feel safe driving my truck until these issues are fixed. I refuse to put the safety of my kids and myself at risk.

Manufacturer has failed to provide a remedy for the Z46 recall, the primary "intended" use of the vehicle is for towing, and as such I feel that the vehicle is unsafe for its "intended" use. I have contacted Mopar online, and I have contacted the dealership multiple times. With no resolution, or suggested remedy. I am simply left with a vehicle of questionable reliability which I feel is unreasonable.

I have contacted Stellantis and made them aware as well as bringing the vehicle to the dealership on [XXX]. The recall was released back in 6/2022. How can there still not be a corrective course of action for such a serious safety and reliability problem. Please help me to understand. There is now a second recall that does not have a resolution. I was on a 6 land highway, fast lane, when my dodge truck just stopped. I was almost hit and cause several accidents in trying to get to the shoulder of the road. I called a tow truck and again the driver and myself almost caused accidents in trying to get the truck loaded on the truck. I took it to a near by repair shot. They diagnosed the problem quickly. I then waited 6 weeks, yes 6 weeks for the crank position sensor to come in. That was back in April. Ever since then we have been trying to load the correct software because it still is not running right. This is dangerous. I also have an outstanding recall on this truck for the high pressure fuel pump. So that can go at anytime. What has happened to Dodge, I wish I never bought this truck.

Like to report due to lack of fix a recall as fuel starvation - which have a High pressure Fuel pump defective I ended paid the cost of Filter diesel plus other other damage parts. Now seems to be that I eat the cost of recall. Out the blue now the part is on order. I am very sure the High Pressure Fuel Pump is defectives has damage other components.

More than 1 year after a safety recall, there is still no remedy available. This is unacceptable for a safety issue. Now there is a new recall for the same issue that was previously recalled. Something seems fishy. Is my truck safe to drive? Buy it back if it can't be fixed. Seems reasonable to me.

Back March 2023 making a stop traffic the truck engine started stalling and lost power then suddenly accelerated. The same exact thing happens on 6/5/23. This vehicle has a recall for fuel starvation but nothing isn’t fixed - no remedy is offered- I don understand why a safety recall is issued my life is in danger along with any occupant passengers . If vehicle has a safety recall is for a reason enforce a remedy.

Recall on high pressure fuel pump is causing truck to keep struggling during driving , and sudden stop at street few times

when fueling the pump handle gets stuck in the tank and also cuts the pump handle off several times during the fueling process. This problem has not been checked out. The exhaust manifolds are tapping. This will not pass our state inspection. This was found after my state inspection by an independent service center. No warning lights, but can smell a bit of exhaust fumes when starting. The uconnect system is delaminating causing the system to malfunction. While driving the screen changes, changes radio stations, volume, makes phone calls including 911, turns heated seats and heated steering on, it adjusts the temperature from hot to cold, cold to hot and the degree setting. You can not shut the uconnect system off once it starts. Spoke to the Ram dealership and they said this is a common problem and very pricey to fix. Saftey issue being 1. dialing 911 while driving. 2. sudden volume adjustments causing distractions,

The problem is with the whole DEF System in the truck. for the last 6 months I can't go a week or less without getting some kind of code. Every time it effects the electronic throttle control and the truck goes into limp mode, I can be going 70 mph and it drops down to 30-40 mph no matter where I am at. I have almost been rear ended several times. I fix that code and a week later another code pops up and we do it all over again. I think I may have gone 2 weeks without a problem in the last 6 months. This time it is the DPF and DEF system, and here we go back into limp mode. I have had it to the dealer last week for issues which they couldn't figure out but thought that reprogramming would fix. So I leave to go out of state to work and here we go again less than 100 miles from home. Exhaust filter is full with no regen for over 400 miles. Now I'm stuck out of state with this problem. I think this really needs to be addressed because after all of my research this seems to be a normal problem.

This vehicle experienced a Diesel EGR Cooler failure, for which there is an open recall by FCA under VB1/NHTSA 19V-757. Repairs were completed at the shop where it had been taken for diagnostics, and subsequently I submitted a reimbursement request to FCA following all guidelines and submitting all documents requested. However, FCA is refusing to honor the recall reimbursement request. They state their reasons below: 1) Vehicle is out of warranty. (Warranty status should have no bearing on a recall repair) 2) Parts replaced are not covered under the recall. (Parts replaced were specifically covered under recall VB1) 3) Repairs were not completed at a dealership. (The reimbursement process was created specifically for repairs completed at other repair centers) The above reasons stated by FCA are not valid, but FCA continues to deny reimbursement. FCA should honor their recall repair commitment and process. This incident leads me to believe FCA is actively engaged in falsely denying reimbursements to customers and their compliance with NHTSA recall oversight should be investigated.

California has a rubber boot on their gas pumps to capture gas emissions - this forces a full insertion of the nozzle or the gas pump into the Dodge ram fuel filler neck when pumping gas the gas nozzle became lodged into the filler neck - I was unable to remove the gas pump from the filler neck - had to use screw driver to remove which resulted in the plastic housing of the filler neck to break This is dangerous and now could allow gas overflow from the broken housing -

I took my truck to the dealer Early 2022 for the recall. they couldn't help due to the shortage on the parts. I kept going every month because my truck was stalling. they kept telling me to leave them my email address and they will contact me when they get the parts for the recall. on August 30. I was driving on the freeway. I lost power. my truck couldn't go over 30 then declined to 25 then to 20mph. My truck start heating up really fast. I pulled a side and tow it to the dealer. Dealer stated that my crankshaft was cracked. I truly believe it cracked due to the recall. My high Presure fuel pump was defective and it cause my truck to overheat and crack the engine. I need Help. I ordered another engine which cost me $13,000.00 without the Instulation, now I have to wait till the dealer get an engine and they will charge me the instulation on top it which it will probably end up costing me near to $20,000 This happen all because of Dodge defective part from the recall

Turning onto a main hwy, vehicle would not move forward. Response time for throttle was more than 5 seconds. Car behind me had to slam on their brakes on order to not hit me. Vehicle is continually having throttle response issues.

The filler pipe for filling up gas will not take the gas from gas station filler nozzle you have to constantly engage nozzle it automatically shuts off and then you have to engage nozzle multiple times to fill gas tank. Dealer wanted to replace entire tank and filler pipe for $800.00. You asked what date did this occur it’s every time you put gas into the truck.

Purchased truck from Covert Dodge in Taylor, TX 2019. Mid-End 2019 started having issues with the fuel pump would not fuel vehicle without constantly shutting off. This is a very annoying situation and eats up a great deal of time. I have to hold it where it barely runs the fuel in order to get it to fuel for more then 2 seconds. Gas attendant at Costco just thought I did not know how to fuel my truck and he too had the same issue. Dodge needs to own up to the problem and fix it. There are plenty of complaints about the issue. I do not think my next vehicle will be a dodge only because they do not own up to the well known problem. Did receive a letter about the fuel tank strap. I do not think that is the issue

When filling up with gas, it will not fill up without the causing the nozzle's safety switch to continually auto shut off(clicking off). Meaning I have to barely squeeze the nozzle so fuel barely flows into the gas cap slot taking 20-30 minutes to fill up because I can not set the lock on the gas pump nozzle to automatic flow. This is happening at all Gas stations so it is not an issue with the shape of a specific stations pump nozzle. The colder the weather the worse this is. Took in to dealer for a maintenance to see if it was just the float, but the stated to me without them further looking into the problem and having to charge me, it appears it could mean a full fuel tank replacement. My truck is only a 2018 and only has 56,000 miles on it so to me this shouldn't be happening. This started last November 2019.

When for gas at wawa pump got stuck in my truck would not come out sat for 5 hours until we got it out

When fueling the truck will not allow more than a few cents worth of gas to go in. You immediately hear the sound as if it is full and pumping stops. This is a known problem that Ram Truck company ignores. It has been documented since 2015. The danger is since you can't tell the difference between the constant shut off Nd when a truck is full and you keep trying to put gas in the truck then gas sprays out of the filler neck. It has covered my hand in fuel as well as my clothing and poured onto the ground. There are no warning lights saying there is an issue. I have contacted the dealer and their response in email was "there is no open recall". There are also numerous complaints on the Ram Truck forum and a class action is being started.

NOTICEABLE TICKING SOUND FROM ENGINE BAY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED. THE SOUND CONTINUES AND GETS FASTER WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ONTO THE FREEWAY. THE SOUND IS CAUSED FROM A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. THEY WARP FROM THE HEAT OF THE ENGINE AND SNAP THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THEM TO THE ENGINE BLOCK. PROBLEMS THAT THIS CAUSES; - LEAKING EXHAUST TRIPS THE O2 SENSOR CHANGING THE FUEL TRIMS AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO RUN RICH. THE VEHICLE ALWAYS RUNNING RICH EFFECTS THE ECO MODE AND VEHICLE PERFORMANCE THUS CAUSES LONG TERM DAMAGE. - WHEN THE BOLTS SNAP OFF THEY DROP OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE AND BECOME A PROJECTILE THAT HITS THE WINDSHIELD OF UNSUSPECTING DRIVERS AND CAUSE ACCIDENTS. - HEAT CAUSED FROM THE HEAT SHIELD FALLING OFF AND THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BEING LOOSE CAUSES WIRES IN THE ENGINE BAY TO MELT AND FRAY. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2018 RAM 1500 DIESEL WITH 23,000 MILES FROM CARMAX. THERE IS A RECALL, VB1, ON THE TRUCK. THE PARTS REQUIRED TO FIX THE RECALL ARE UNAVAILABLE IN A TIMELY MANNER. I CONTACTED 7 RAM DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA TO DISCOVER EACH HAS A WAITING LIST FOR THE PARTS OF 70 TO 200 VEHICLES BECAUSE THE PARTS ARE "RESTRICTED"; ONLY 1 PART MAY BE ORDERED PER WEEK BY ANY DEALERSHIP. THEREFORE, THE ACTUAL TIME REQUIRED TO REPAIR THE DEFECT IS AT MINIMUM IS 1 TO 3 YEARS AT THAT RATE. ACCORDING TO THE RECALL VB1 THERE IS A RISK OF A POTENTIAL VEHICLE FIRE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER (FCA) CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO GET THE PARTS FASTER TO THE DEALERS SINCE THEY ARE RESTRICTED TO 1 PART PER ORDER PER WEEK, THAT THERE IS NO ETA OF WHEN , IF AT ALL, THE SUPPLY OF PARTS WILL BE INCREASED. I AM FILLING THIS COMPLAINT SO PERHAPS OTHERS WILL NOT SUFFER THE SAME PROBLEM IF THEY PURCHASE A USED RAM TRUCK WITH THIS RECALL.

21,000 MILES ON TRUCK. I HAVE HAD ISSUES PUTTING GAS IN THROUGH THE FUEL TUBE. GAS NOZZLE WILL SHUT OFF AFTER FEW SECONDS, AND WILL SPURT BACK OUT ON TO MYSELF. I'VE HAD TO MANUALLY HOLD THE NOZZLE JUST ON THE EDGE OF THE FUEL TUBE WHILE HOLDING BACK THE NOZZLE. IT CAN TAKE UP TO 15 MINUTES TO FILL GAS TANK. I'VE HAD IT IN TO DEALER TWICE AFTER GETTING FRUSTRATED WITH THIS ISSUE. THEY REPLACE THE FUEL TUBE, PART # OMC 68448220AA. IT WILL TAKE GAS A FEW FILL-UPS THEN I'LL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM .I FEEL THIS IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. WITH THE GAS SPURTING OUT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE HAD THE TRUCK IN TO FOR REPAIRS ON 2/24/21 AND 1/3/20.

THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM IS PUTTING OUT CHECK ENGINE CODES FOR FUEL PUMP AND FUEL PUMP MODULE ON 2 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS ONCE IN DECEMBER 2019 AND AGAIN IN AUGUST 2020

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BAYSHORE CHRYSLER/JEEP (5225 I10 EAST, BAYTOWN, TX) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK CHECK VALVE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FUEL TANK, FILLER NECK, AND FUEL PUMP WERE ALL REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

I OWN A 2018 ECODIESEL AND WHEN MY TRUCK WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE THEY DID AN UPDATE CALLED AEM OR V08 EMISSIONS UPDATE. AFTER THE UPDATE MY TRUCK NO LONGER ACCELERATES FROM A STOP. IT CRAWLS AT UNDER 10MPH EXTREMELY SLOW APROX. 90 SECONDS UNTIL THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS I HAVE BEEN IN 3 NEAR ACCIDENTS DUE TO A LACK OF ACCELERATION. IN ADDITION TO THE LACK OF ACCELERATION I NOW GET MUCH LOWER GAS MILEAGE. PRIOR TO THE UPDATE I WAS GETTING 27 MPG, NOW THE BEST I HAVE GOTTEN WAS 19MPG. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW, TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE THAT GET GOOD GAS MILEAGE AND DRIVES THEY WAY IT DID WHEN I TEST DROVE IT, WHICH IS THE REASON WHY I PURCHASED IT. ONLY FOR THEM TO COMPLETELY CHANGE MY VEHICLE AFTER THE PURCHASE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION IS TO ME A BAIT AND SWITCH.

YOU HAVE TO CONTINUE SQUEEZING THE HANDLE FOR GAS TO COME OUT. THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND IN A STATIONARY POSITION WHILE FILLING THE TANK. I HAVE TO LOOK AT THE GALLONS I AM PUTTING INTO MY VEHICLE SO I KNOW THE VEHICLE IS FULL. HOWEVER THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW TIMES THE TANK HAS OVERFILLED CAUSING GAS TO COME OUT OF THE TANK. AGAIN ONCE FINISHED FILLING UP I CAN NOT EASILY JUST PULL THE HANDLE OUT AND REPLACE BACK TO THE PUMP I HAVE TO GRAB THE HANDLE WITH TWO HANDS THEN POSITION THE HANDLE PULLING UP ON IT AND PULL BACK AND FOURTH UNTIL IT FINALLY DECIDES TO COME OUT OF MY TANK. THERE HAD BEEN A TIME MY GIRLFRIEND TOOK THE VEHICLE OUT OF TOWN AND SHE FILLED IT BEFORE SHE HAD LEFT. AGAIN THE HANDLE FOR GAS WAS STUCK AND I HAD TO LEAVE WORK TO GO AND GET IT OUT FOR HER. LEAKING GAS OUT OF THE TANK IS REALLY BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND ALSO I GET NERVOUS SINCE I FEEL LIKE PRESSURE IS BUILDING UP WHILE FILLING AS WELL. THIS HAS TO BE HAPPENING TO MORE VEHICLES LIKE MINE. AND IF SO WE HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW THIS CAN BE FIXED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND HELP ON THIS MATTER.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.

MOST, BUT NOT ALL OF THE GAS STATION FILLING NOZZLES STICK IN MY GAS FILLER WHEN I TRY TO REMOVE THEM. THEY ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE AND REQUIRES A LOT OF PULLING AND TWISTING TO GET THEM OUT. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME, NOT ONE TIME AS CALENDAR SHOWS.

NEEDED GAS AGAIN, MY SON TRIED PUTTING GAS AND HAD SAME ISSUE, BUT MORE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. 3 TIME I TRIED FILLING-EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET NOZZLE IN, WOULD ONLY PUTS SMALL AMOUNTS OF GAS IN AT A TIME WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF-NOZZLE WOULD NOT COME OUT. STATION ATTENDANTS TRIED WITH NO SUCCESS, SUGGESTED I CALL A TOW TRUCK TO REMOVE IT. SON LIVED CLOSE SO HE CAME AND FINALLY HAD TO USE A SCREW DRIVER TO REMOVE NOZZLE. TOOK TRUCK TO DODGE-YES THEY ARE AWARE OF ISSUE BUT HAVE NO FIX AND I WILL JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT. LOOKED AT DODGE CHAT POSTS AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. SUGGESTIONS FROM OTHER DEALERS INCLUDED REPLACING THE TANK AT THE OWNERS COST ($2,000.00) I CHATTED WITHE DODGE AND THEY SAID THE SAME- IF IT BECOMES A RECALL THEN THEY WOULD RE-IMBURSE THE OWNER. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW BY THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD BE COVERED BY DODGE. THIS IS DANGEROUS, SPURTING FUEL AND INABILITY TO REMOVE THE NOZZLE. I AM 72 WITH A DISABLED HUSBAND AND ONLY VEHICLE AVAILABLE TO ME -I SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID TO PUT GAS IN THE TRUCK

I OBSERVED A OWNER TRYING TO REMOVE THE GAS STATION'S FILLER HOSE AFTER SHUT OFF WITHOUT SUCCESS. ONCE THE VAPOR RECOVERY HOSE NOZEL WAS INSERTED, THE COLLAR ON THE HOSE LOCKED ON THE FILLER TUBE. IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE, SO AFTER JERKING ETC IT FINALLY CAME OUT. THE PROBLEM IS THE ANGLE OF THE TUBE AND NO CLEARANCE FROM THE BODY OF THE PICKUP BED.THE OWNER OF THE GAS STATION SAID IT WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME FOR THIS SPECIFIC VEHICLE. HE IS AT MONROE AND WALNUT AT RED BLUFF, CA, 96080. HE IS A VERY CONCERNED OWNER.
