2019 RAM 1500 Air Bags Problems

i as in an accident. a vehicle hit me while i was traveling at 50 mph. my air bags did not depoly.

I was driving down the road on my way home from work. And without warning the airbags in both front seats and both front seat belts and the top one close or inside the roof all went off at the same time. Causing me to almost wreak my truck. I went off in the ditch then back on the highway before stopping on the opposite side of the road There is no damage to my truck except a busted plastic piece on the running board. But both front seats are ripped open now cause of the airbags going off the seat belts are locked up and the liner in the roof is messed up. And it now says there is something wrong with my traction control

I have a faulty steering column in my truck that needs to be replaced. This is not normal wear and tear. The truck only has 60k miles on it and is still under warranty till 1/17/26. The steering column is supposed to last the Life of the truck. I brought the truck to dealership (nye) to diagnose the cause of the bad steering column. But instead they tell me they cant tell me the cause of the faulty steering column. Instead I recieve a quote to pay to replace it. I have called and even emailed the manager as he is suppose to be cerified to diagnose the cause or to give his professional opinion but I get no call back or even reply to my emails. This was in an accident before but the insurance says this is not caused by the accident. Id like to mention the airbags didn't deploy when the truck drove into the telephone pole. This is unsafe to drive and needs to be addressed.

The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard before the contact's insurance had the vehicle towed to an independent body repair shop. The contact stated that the store's large front glass was shattered as a result of the accident, but was unaware if any other property was damaged. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had yet been notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000(Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V407000 (Air Bags, Seat Belts); both recalls were previously serviced on the vehicle. The vehicle remained in the possession of the independent body shop and had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

2019 Ram limited 4x4 . Leather dash has bubble and shrinking exposing air bags . 5th gen trucks are having issues with this that Stelantis [ Ram] knows of. They know of this issue and wont fix. They seem to have fixed this issue in 2023.

Air bag light came on in the instrument panel. I took it to the dealership along with oil change. They scanned the airbag problem and it came back that the passenger front seatbelt had open circuit. My vehicle is not part of the current recall for this issue. I want to let you know that my build of my vehicle should fall under the current recall for the ongoing build dates with this issue.

Airbag warning light is on no accident. It just came on no airbags have been deployed. There is a recall for similar. Ran 1500 classics of this make and model but not my VIN number for the same airbag sensor light.

Rear window seal has allowed water in to the cab of the truck and the electronic components under the back seat have already had to be replaced causing the vehicle to not operate properly. The rear window is still leaking and has leaked since 2021, when it was replaced under warranty. If water enters into the electronic components under the back seat or the air bags located in the head liner, while driving, this could cause severe damage to property and could be harmful to life.

Ive had the truck for 3 months and airbag light came on. Had it diagnosed to find it has a bad sensor in the seatbelt pretensioner that is stopping the passenger airbag from deploying and the seatbelt from locking. This is a major problem and should be a recall as I had it fixed and paid almost $600 to have replaced. I've called Stelantis and they offer no help as if it becomes a recall in the future they will possibly reimburse me they say.

I started my truck up one morning and the airbag system light came on. Took it to the dealership and they reported fault code B007F-13 and recommended immediately replacing faulty passenger seatbelt retractor. For some reason my truck was not included in safety recall W67. Dealership quoted out-of-pocket fix was $800. I drove around for several months with the airbag light on because I could not afford to fix. Dealership is finally fixing today. They are applying the same fix they have made to other 2019 Dodge Ram trucks in the recall group. This is a major safety issue and negligence to not include all vehicles affected by this malfunction. My truck should have been included in the recall if it is getting the exact same safety recall fix as other models in the same year.

Hit a very large cow early in the morning going about 40-45 mph. Not one single airbag deployed. There was no indication that they wouldn't work. The seatbelt was the only thing that kept him was going anywhere... If the airbags had gone off his head and neck wouldn't of snapped forward. We have police report pictures and can get insurance report. Contacted Ram and they said there wasn't anything they could do. After a year of doctors I contacted Ram back and still nothing they can do.

Additionally, while driving 80 MPH, a semi-truck ran him off the road and crashed into a steel pole. The anti-lock brakes did not work. The occupants were wearing seatbelts. The airbags failed to deploy. The contact's face struck the front windshield. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver hit the steering wheel. The contact and his daughter were taken to the hospital by ambulance, which provided medical attention. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven away. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who determined the vehicle was working as designed and the failure was a user error. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 99,800.

While driving my 2019 RAM 1500 on 12 September 2024 my airbag warning light came on. Shortly thereafter I took my pickup to the RAM dealership's service department to ID the problem. The service manager looked at the airbag warning light and told me that the restraint system works in unison with the seat belt restraint system. So, while troubleshooting the restraint system she pulled on the seat belt multiple times. Each and every time she pulled it with various degrees of force the seat belt failed to lock. She told me that this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. She went on to say that failure to fix this issue can be very harmful for the driver in a collision where the seat belt restraint fails to lock. She recommended that the vehicle should not be driven until this safety issue is fixed.

I was driving a new truck i had purchased from a dodge dealer , i was rear-ended at highway speed, the truck lost control and went off road hitting a earthen burm head on, flipped and came to rest on the roof. The traction control didn't work, the front impact airbags did not deploy and the engine was still running while the truck was upside-down Download of the trucks ECM shows the srs seat position sensor was not configured from the factory. The factory did issue a recall identifying the seat position sensors as a component needed for the airbags to function I suffered a concussion ,neck injuries, both knees needed surgery 1 surgery on the left 3 on the right i am scheduled for a knee replacement and temporary paralysis My wife suffered a severed ACL and had to have it replaced

Dashboard leather has completely delaminated. High bubbling and excess material causing poor viability and obstruction. Ram will not repair.

UNKNOWN. Has an investigation been opened into the delamination of the Leather dashbords, in the RAM LIMITED 1500. Concerned how the disfigured dash surface will impede the function of passenger Air Bag deployment. A review of U Tube. Will have pictures / videos.

Air bag light need service

I was rear ended very hard, the car had to have been going at least 50 mph and didn't brake. It lifted the rear wheels of my truck off the ground, and the airbag light came on but none of the airbags deployed. This caused or exacerbated injury to my right leg and a laceration in the back of my head, concussion and TBI. I was in and out of consciousness. The police report contains a statement they said I wrote, but I think the passenger in my car wrote it It makes no sense and I saw it the 1st time when the report was emailed to me.

“Service air bag” warning illuminated. Took car to dealer for service. Told by service agent that light was on due to low battery voltage. Battery 6 months old. Vehicle fine electrically otherwise. Doubting the reason. Haven’t gotten vehicle back yet, thinking warning light not cleared.

On 02/11/2024 my boyfriend and I were involved in a rear-end collision. The driver that hit us was going 60 to 70 mph at the time of impact while we were sitting at a traffic light. The airbags did not deploy and now my boyfriend and I have sustained severe injuries due to the accident.

The radio wouldn’t come on and then the car rpm just go down while I am driving and the check light came on

I was in a car accident going over 25 plus miles an hour and non of my airbags deployed in my truck. I had to get my neck reconstructed because it broke. I believe if airbags would deployed it could of helped with less injuries.

Why is service airbag NOT A SAFETY RECALL A simple internet search of this on RAM trucks shows that it should. REALLY ASK WHY SERVICE AIR BAG IS NOT A RECALL.

I HAVE WATER ENTERING THE CAB BY THE UPPER BRAKE LIGHT AT THE BACK OF THE CAB. THE WATER IS MAKING WATER STAINS ON THE HEAD LINER AND THE WATER IS SATURATING THE AIR CURTAINS ABOVE THE REAR WINDOW. IT IS ALSO MAKING THE FLOOR WET AND THE ELECTRICAL WIRES AND COMPONENTS ON THE FLOOR. I ALSO HEAR AIR LEAKS AROUND THE DOOR SEALS WHEN I AM DRIVING ENTERING CURVES AND TURNS. IT SEEMS LIKE THE CAB, OR DOORS SHIFT BREAKING THE DOOR SEALS ALOWING AIR TO ENTER. I BOUGHT IT USED WITH 46775 MILES ON IT IT CURRENTLY HAS 54465 MILES ON IT. SOMETHING IS DEFINETLY WRONG. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM.

Was in a head on collision going 40-45 mph. Hit a guard rail head on and airbags did not deploy

Unsure to what's causing the issue, dealership will look at it but feel it is a customer issue not a truck issue however among further investigation this seems to be a common issue amongst these model trucks, I have spoken with other people who have experience the same issues as well as researched it online where many people have also experienced the issue. The seatbelt light alongside the airbag light will come on intermently saying that the passenger side seat belt is unbuckled and it is in fact not. I have spoken with individuals who have gone to the dealership for this issue and they have found it to be a wiring issue.

The safety warning light came on when starting the vehicle. We checked the owners manual and called the dealership to schedule an appointment. Advised of the recall by NHTSA they said no recall under our VIN. Took it to the dealer on [XXX] they did not schedule the appointment for the recall, showed them online the NHTSA recall but said Chrysler hadn’t notified them of any recall under our VIN. However, when the service advisor looked up the error code it shows the same code as the recall by NHTSA, codes V61 and V71. Our vehicle is a 2019 Classic Ram Dodge Pickup VIN [XXX] . We have also call FCA/Chrysler Fiat and advised them of the problem, Cesar referred us to NHTSA saying you send them VIN’s of vehicles that have incurred this error. Dodge pickup was traveling south down the highway at 65 mph and was met by an approaching semi pulling a fully loaded belly dump trailer also traveling at 65 mph. When both vehicles were about to meet, the trailer unloaded all 46,000 pounds of large rock onto the highway. The rocks proceeded to bounce into the front end of the Dodge at estimated speeds of 120-150 mph and lasted approximately 1 mile of highway (mile marker to mile marker). The driver of the Dodge engaged his brakes and was able to come to a complete stop on the roadway, but was struck in the side of the head by one of the rocks and died a short time later at a nearby hospital. The pickup sustained approximately $46,000 in damages during the incident, including major front end damage, a cracked radiator making the vehicle undrivable, and both a broken dash and bent steering wheel from the one rock that made it through the windshield. The Dodge was considered a complete loss by the insurance company. Both the driver and passenger of the Dodge were wearing their seatbelts and not a single airbag was deployed during the incident, including the steering wheel airbag. The steering wheel, which was hit by a rock traveling at an estimated speed of 120-150 mph, bent from the force of the impact, yet the airbag did not deploy. Had it deployed, the driver of the Dodge wouldn't have sustained such a catastrophic injury and would more than likely still be alive.

Back glass has crack in frame around sliding glass window. Water is leaking into the truck from crack and causing back seat, carpet, ceiling liner and airbags in the ceiling liner to get wet.

The vehicle’s rear window started leaking with normal rain. Airbags are present in the area and are prone to getting get. This can be a hazard in case of an accident.

crankshaft retainer and seal kit is leaking oil.

My rear window or antenna shark fin is allowing water to leak into the truck cabin above the rear window. The ceiling is wet above the rear window. The ceiling is wet around the airbag cover. What guarantee is there the water has not damaged the airbags or other electrical components. I am now worried the airbags could be damaged and not work properly putting my family at risk of injury if we are in an accident.

The airbag(s) and Seat belt tensioner failed, and yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I was in a full frontal collision at 45 mph, the airbags did not deploy, and the seatbelt did not tighten or lock. I was thrown all over the truck and suffered several severe injuries, some of which may be permanent. RAM was notified and had stated everything was fine with the truck. But after detailed inspection by the collision center, they disagree and feel there was a malfunction. The insurance company after visual inspection also feels there was a malfunction. There is substantial frame damage, and the front of the truck was crushed. There were no warning lights or symptoms of failure previous to the incident.

My vehicle had issues in which all safety features have been turned off in the truck in June of 2022. Two dealerships have determined that it is a module but Ram has not been able to get the part now going on 5 months. Airbags, Lights, Safety features are all not working. I have tried to escalate but no response. I keep being told month after month that this will be corrected but still nothing. This is a major concern as this is a vehicle that has to be used and yet it is completely unsafe.

While driving the airbag disabled light, driver seatbelt sensor and auto park disabled light came on. This has been a recurring issue since my purchase in February 2022. about half a year ago, i noticed the seat belt didn't retract properly, and on occasion, it would lock me into the seat preventing me from moving even though there was no reason for the belt to lock. then a airbag light illuminated on the dash a few weeks ago, on the same day that i was standing still at a traffic light, and i tried to reach for a folder on the passenger seat, when the seatbelt would not allow me to move. So i made an appointment with the ram dealer. they just inspected and tested the truck. The dealer just told me it had something to do with the front outerleft seatbelt assembly. They say the ohms is low and the airbag will not deploy and the seatbelt may not work unless the entire assembly is replaced. I was told this is not covered under warranty, not even the extended warranty i purchased. the car is less than 3 years since delivery, and has 52900 miles on it. I can't believe such a safety issue would not be covered. I believe any car manufacturer should sell a vehicle that has a reliable safety restraint and airbag system, don't you? Water leaking into roof from unknown source. Creating musty smell (mold). Concerns are: 1. Mold risk to consumer health. 2. Airbags/sensors being affected by water infiltration. 3. Potential electrical hazards associated with water infiltration.

AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALLED, AND I SUFFERED INJURIES.

on January 1/23/2022 my vehicle was traveling at a speed of approx. 35mph in wintery conditions. A vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and slide into the road way, and my vehicles front end collided with the side of their vehicle. All of the other vehicles air bags, front and sides, deployed. None of my airbags deployed at all. The vehicle had significant damage and was a total loss. The highway patrol, tow truck driver, the EMS, the Insurance adjuster, and the body shop all said "I can't believe your airbags didn't deploy". My VIN number does indicate a recall related to airbags, but indicates it was fixed. I feel there was definitely an issue that prevented them from deploying. The people commenting are experts as they respond to accidents of this nature as a career, so I feel their opinion warrants an investigation in this matter.

Airbags did not deploy in an accident where my vehicle rear ended a vehicle.

My wife was in an accident where she hydroplaned, struck center barrier cables, went head on into a guardrail and was flipped 180 degrees and not a single airbag deployed.

DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TRI LAKES FORD(180 STATE HWY F &, 65, BRANSON, MO 65616) WHERE IT WAS SERVICED AND REPAIRED WITHOUT THE CONTACT'S KNOWLEDGE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE CONTACT ONCE HE LEFT THE HOSPITAL. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 27,500.

I WAS IN THE LEFT TURN LANE WAITING TO TURN WHEN I WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER CAR AT ABOUT 40 MPH. HIS AIR BAGS WERE DEPLOYED BUT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS HIT AND HAD DAMAGE IN THE FRONT CENTER TO THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT CLIP, EVEN MY DOOR WAS A LITTLE HARD TO OPEN.

THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE WAITING FOR TRAFIC TO CLEAR TO PROCEED CROSSING THE STREET. WHEN AN ACCIDENT HAPPEN JUST IN FRONT, AND ONE OF THE CARS INVOLVED CRASH ON MY TRUCK. THE IMPACT MOVE THE TRUCK TOWARD THE SIDE WALK AND STOPING AT THE CURB.
