Have had several issues with this truck and there seems to be a lot of similar issues: 1. Hemi tick - Had to have the exhaust manifolds replaced because they were cracked for no apparent reason... happened right after warranty was up 2. Alternator (etorque) started whining and had to get it replaced after 100k miles gently driven. Could have left me stranded. 3. Visor falling out (Very Dangerous) No t only in my truck, but when I had 2 rentals from dealership, same truck different years (2021 & 2023) they had the same issue. All of these seem to be a widespread issue!
My 2019 RAM 1500 diesel (built 12/12/2019 is included in Recall 23V-411 for tone wheel delamination. My tone wheel has failed (confirmed by technician). Stellantis provides free tone wheel replacement under Recall 73A for 2014 and 2016 models but excludes 2015/2017/2018/2019 models despite having the identical defect from the same supplier. I received only Recall 66A (software) which did not prevent failure. Stellantis now wants me to pay $3,037 to replace the defective part they replace free in other model years. This discriminatory recall remedy is inadequate and unjust.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the check engine warning light had illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving, the throttle sensor warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had recurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was purchased, and the light was reset; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving 45-50 MPH, the failure recurred, and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road, but the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was purchased, and the throttle sensor was replaced; however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact was referred to a Dodge dealer. The vehicle was towed to Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (1450 N Tomoka Farms Rd Suite A, Daytona Beach, FL 32124); but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was then towed to Sebastian's Auto Repair Inc, where the valve cover gasket was taken apart, but no failure was found. The warranty company was contacted and advised the contact that the entire engine needed to be taken apart for the repair to be covered. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to tow the vehicle back to the Dodge dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 52,800.

Oil pan completly rusted through .I have lifetime warranty they say not covered because of rust. Its all over the ineternet that 2019 ram 1500 had a bad batch of oil pans.If the oil leaks out the engine will seize and cause me to crash.
After starting the 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn in the morning, or after starting the truck and putting it in Drive, the vehicle sometimes shifts itself from Drive into Neutral as we come to a stop. When this happens, the gear indicator on the dashboard begins blinking and displays the message: “Shift to P then desired gear.” On one occasion, as my wife was merging onto the freeway in front of an 18-wheeler, the vehicle suddenly went into Neutral as she slowed down to merge. When she pressed the gas pedal, the truck did not move, putting her in immediate danger and forcing her to coast while traffic approached from behind. This issue has made the vehicle unsafe to drive because it can unexpectedly drop into Neutral at critical moments for example, while crossing lanes, merging, or pulling into intersections. There are no warning lights or alerts before this occurs. Sometimes, the truck will lunge forward or move forward unexpectedly when slowing down. Other times, it just rolls even though we are pressing the gas because it’s actually in Neutral. The problem has been repeatedly reported to the local dealership, which has replaced several parts -including the transmission and performed multiple repair attempts, but the issue continues. No other independent mechanic or third party has inspected the vehicle only the local dealership. Due to the ongoing safety hazard and repeated failure to repair, I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue. The unpredictable shifting poses a serious risk to drivers/passengers and others on the road.
Problem Description: Beginning in early 2025, the vehicle started experiencing intermittent electrical malfunctions that cause it to lose power unexpectedly while driving. The issue occurs without warning, creating a significant safety hazard for both the driver and other motorists. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Ram service center on four separate occasions (February 2025, July 2025, September 2025, and October 2025), but the problem has not been resolved. Each time, the service center has been unable to identify or repair the root cause. The vehicle is still under an active Mopar Vehicle Protection Plan (Account#[XXX]), and all service has been performed at Commonwealth Dodge in Louisville, Kentucky. Despite these multiple repair attempts, the truck continues to lose power intermittently, making it unreliable and unsafe to operate. The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH down the road, the brakes unintendedly activated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic who was unable to retrieve a fault code. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, but the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. Upon additional research, it was determined that the recall was completed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC), but the update was not performed, completed, or done correctly. The vehicle was repaired. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the power steering became inoperable. The vehicle was towed to the residence. Upon investigation, the contact located a Class Action Lawsuit. The local dealer was contacted, and it was diagnosed that the power steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.

Exhaust Manifolds are cracked as others have noted. This a known issue by the manufacturer and they have issued a TSB but those of us out of warranty have to pay to replace their known defective part. This should be a full recall.
Issue started with a "service shifter" warning at just shy of 3,000 miles, in January of 2019, and upon speaking to the dealership, they advised to shut off the truck and restart which cleared the "service shifter" warning. They said it was a glitch and that should remedy the issue. This issue became more frequent later (after manufacturers warranty ran out) It started leaving me stranded, sometimes for hours around 45,000 miles. Later, I suffered a multisystem failure and warnings that the truck was not in park, the shifter would not turn, truck would not start, and multiple other warnings. We were able to replace the battery which we thought had fixed the issue, but two weeks later it has done it again, and this time the battery disconnection for a period of days has not fixed the issue. I still owe two years on this truck and it has been a lemon. I have taken it to two dealerships, neither can fix my issue. I have done countless hours of research to address the issue. I am paying payments and do not have anything to drive. I need help with this issue. I have maintained the vehicle and have only put close to 60,000 miles on the truck. There is no logical reason I should be dealing with this many major issues that even the dealership can not seem to remedy. With such low miles and at only 7 years old, these issues should not be considered "routine maintenance" at the point in the truck's life. I believe this issue needs to be investigated, as I know many RAM owners who are facing the same issues that I am having, with no answers as of yet. I have been watching for recalls or statements from RAM, but nothing yet. Thank you for your time and careful considerations. I look forward to seeing a solution to my issues. Until then, I'll be stranded in Virginia, paying for transportation that can't be fixed.
Alernator / generator failure. shutdown engine while driving on the highway. Steering and breaking ability severely reduced.
I’ve had this car for four years and my motor has blown three times and they have changed the head on the motor three different times I was driving the car on the highway. The car was at the dealership for five months and the day I get the car back not even eight hours later I’m driving down [XXX] other car shuts off and says to put in park and leave me stranded on the side of the road with my [XXX] child and my girlfriend . I had to wait until they came and picked me up and told me and this is extremely unsafe and a hazard after the third head replacement at the dealer and the car still under warranty. I don’t feel safe in this car with My Child. I picked up my truck around 2pm August 25th , and the motor blew Wednesday night at 1045pm for a 3rd time INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The eTorq generator stopped working and the engine shutdown on the highway. I had to get a tow to the shop as the vehicle is not usable and the engine will not start. Furthermore, this part is unavailable with no-ETA as it is on nationwide backorder. I have been waiting for over a month I was told over 13000 of these are on backorder for customers around the country. I have also read many posts of others waiting months for the part. There is obviously a systemic problem with the part and an issue with replacements. It does appear the original part was superseded by a different version. Please help!
Exhaust manifold bolts on the passenger side of the vehicle (2019, 5.7 Hemi, Larami version) have broken. The exhaust system is leaking. An exhaust smell and taste is readily detectable when standing near the cab doors of the vehicle. There is an unknown, regarding if any amount of the exhaust is being drawn into the cab air intake.
EGR cooler has failed and leaked on manifold after 2 EGR bypass cooler replacements. Went online to see when original EGR recall was completed and online data base reported complete Dec 29, 2019. That particular part for the VB1 was not even ready until March-May 2020. There are also no service records or work order for that recall being completed whatsoever. The EGR cooler cracked on the manifold while driving with my kids and almost or did ignite as the whole truck was pouring smoke from behind and underneath. The dealer did inspect and confirm the damage and has been in touch with the manufacturer, acknowledges that there are no service records or work orders for that recall. Dealer acknowledged that no part was available. Manufacturer takes no responsibility but did state in e-mail they believe recall was claimed to have been done in transit during a stop sale.
I have a 2019 Dodge ram 1500 has 77,000 miles on it. My alternator generator went out. I’ve called over 100 places and no one has the part so that leaves me stranded for work because I own a business I’ve had the truck for five months. And I’ve read that many people are having the same issue. Excuse my French, but this is [XXX].also My truck would shut off while while driving INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
After coming to a rolling stop and making a right, I would attempt to accelerate. The vehicle would then throw itself out of gear and I could not accelerate. A message would appear on the dash "Shift to P then Desired Gear." The problem would not be fixed until the vehicle was put in park, then back into drive. I took the vehicle to RAM and they could not replicate the issue, but it would happen to me regularly (1-2 times a month at random). I told this to RAM Dealership and RAM Cares, but nobody seemed bothered that it could get people killed. The problem did not seem to get fixed until I took apart the throttle body and cleaned it out by hand. Since then, I had not had an issue.
In November 2024, my 2019 RAM Rebel displayed “SERVICE SHIFTER,” “PARKING ASSIST,” and “CHECK ENGINE” lights. Dealer performed software updates, but one week later the lights returned. Dealer then replaced the parking assist module, but two weeks later the same issue happened again. I have brought the truck in multiple times since. Often the lights turn off before arrival, and dealer states no fault can be detected. I was told to bring it in immediately when the lights are on, which I did, but still no fault found. Problem continues, and now the truck has begun putting itself into park while driving or when stopped. This is an ongoing and serious safety hazard. I also added photos of others affected by the same issue.

While driving down the highway the vehicle stalled out and quit running with no warning. Electrical error flashed on while trying to pull off to the side of the road safety. After getting it to a mechanic the cam was found to be bad.
2019 RAM 1500 Big Horn, less than 35000 miles and coolant leak from cylinder head.

[XXX] Known issue in 5th Gen Ram 1500s. Defective Mopar Connector Cam Buss. Causes the truck shifting problems and can cause going into park while driving. Issue below is on the forum causing a wreck. My 2019 Dodge Ram Limited started malfunctioning, causing me to wreck when the shifter unexpectedly went into park while I was driving. The brakes locked up, making the truck slide, and by the time it switched back, I was already sliding off the road. Parksense unavailable warning & service Shifter lights do come on. I called the Murfreesboro Ram dealer and they confirmed the issue that is was known to dealers. Majority of the dealers are sold out of the part due to this issue. Charging $200 in labor for a simple 10 min swap out of electrical part. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I brought my truck in because the check engine light was on. My mechanic first replaced the oil pressure sensor, but the check engine light came back on. The oil pressure is low, and the oil pump is the problem. I only have 62,000 miles on the truck, and have kept up with oil changes and maintenance.
As we were driving and pulling a 32 foot trailer battery died, luckily we were able to stop safety and charge battery and bought a new battery to get us home. The Mopar 48‑volt motor‑generator unit (MGU)—often referred to as the “eTorque alternator died. There is a back order of currently 4800+ and months to get this part in order to fix a truck that doesn’t start without it. How is this not a recall? This is highly unsafe if we hadn’t been watching the battery voltage as we were driving and noticed it was getting dangerously low potentially causing a huge pile up accident on the freeway with our trailer.
E torque alternator generator failure, loss of power while driving to all vehicle electrical systems. Part is on national backorder. Reading forums this has been an issue with ram on failure and backorder issues for over a year.
Engine failure with no warning — cylinder #7 collapsed, pushrod broke, and exhaust manifold cracked at only 68,000 miles. This is a known issue with 5.7L HEMI engines, particularly involving defective lifters and camshafts. These failures can result in total engine loss, potential stalling at speed, or permanent engine damage. I am reporting this due to concern over the growing number of similar failures in Ram trucks with low mileage, which may indicate a design defect. FCA/Stellantis has denied goodwill assistance despite low mileage and well-documented cases. This could be a safety issue if engine failure occurs while driving. Please investigate.
Valvetrain and camshaft failure causing misfires in the engine. Safety related issues are possible stalling, overheating, or loss of power can lead to accidents, injuries, or even fatalities. Engine problems can also affect other crucial systems like braking and electronic stability control, further increasing the risk. The stellantis service bulletin B09 FSAR-TSB-5485 clearly shows that their malfeasance across multiple years and vehicle makes, Are not only causing consumers financial burden but could lead to serious physical burden if something happens while driving. My Ram 1500 is in the shop being checked by my own mechanic my check engine light came on which prompted me to get it checked but my mechanic has informed me that the code being thrown is only reading for cylinder 4 and that the entire side of 2, 4, and 6 are misfiring because of this issue which is giving misleading codes.
While changing the oil in my truck I noticed that the oil pan was severely corroded, I mean badly. I looked around under the rest of the truck and there really wasn't any corrosion anywhere else that I could see. I looked online and found out that this is a huge issue with these types of vehicles and the corrosion will get so bad that the vehicle will weep oil which puts the engine at risk but is also horrible for the environment. I took the truck to the dealership and the service manager explained to me that they are well aware of the problem but Ram refuses to do anything about it and claims it's caused by environmental factors. Funny how those environmental factors only affect the oil pan and nothing else on the truck. As I stated, this is a huge potential issue for the environment because Ram is well aware of this but refuses to address it.
Truck was stopped. Then as I started pressing on the gas pedal, there was a warning sound. The gear selector knob rotated on its own from D to P and the message on the screen said to start / stop the vehicle to put it back in gear D. This put myself and my family at risk of a car accident as we were merging onto an expressway. This happened while the truck was starting to accelerate. This is the second time this happens.
My 2019 RAM 1500 Big Horn/Longhorn 3.6L V6 (VIN: [XXX] ) experienced a sudden and catastrophic engine failure without warning while driving. The vehicle shut off unexpectedly on the highway and would not restart. There were no prior dashboard warning lights, low oil pressure indicators, or error messages before the incident. A full diagnostic revealed severe mechanical failure in cylinder 1, including piston-to-valve contact and 40% leak-down with compression at 50 psi. This damage rendered the engine inoperable and required a complete replacement. Prior to the failure: The vehicle was regularly maintained using synthetic oil, following the manufacturer's recommended intervals (between 6,500–10,000 miles). The oil life indicator was followed, and the truck was never low on oil or pressure. A Customer Satisfaction Notification for PCM (Powertrain Control Module) reprogramming was never completed due to the dealer’s system being down on two separate service visits. Despite following proper maintenance and attempting to comply with the manufacturer’s recall-like notice, the engine failure occurred without any warning or indication. The dealership and warranty provider have attempted to deny responsibility, blaming maintenance intervals without proof that it caused the failure. This is a serious safety concern as the engine shut down at highway speed, placing me and others at risk. I am requesting NHTSA investigate this issue and whether PCM logic, a known defect, or improper diagnostics at the dealership contributed to the failure. Driving 60mph in 8th gear while raining, 40 deg F, in Minnesota. The truck shut off (I did not press the Start/Stop button) and dash said "Vehicle Not in Park." Went to pull over, put on turn signals, but they didn't work (it acted like the vehicle was completely shut off but was still rolling at 50+ mph in 8th gear - there was no indication on the dash that showed green light indicating turn signal was working). I suspect brake lights also did not work at this time, but cannot confirm because I couldn't see them. I pulled over to shoulder, slowed to a stop, and put vehicle into Park manually. Pressed Stop/Start button and vehicle started. No codes were thrown. Drove another 2-3 miles and similar issue happened again. Display flashed on and off (then completely turned off) when coming to a stop this time. Vehicle stayed running but again said "Vehicle Not in Park" on dash. No other indication on dash (no warning lights). Drove vehicle back to dealership to get inspected. Similar issue occurred 4 more times on the 12 mile drive to dealership. When I got the vehicle into the service shop, I put it into Park, then pressed the Start/Stop button, but the truck would not shut off. I left the vehicle with the dealer and they are currently diagnosing the issue. 105,000 miles on vehicle. First time this issue has ever occurred on the Ram since I bought it used with 67,000 miles on it. Scared the heck out of me - I had cars swerve around me as I pulled off to the shoulder without any indication - no brake lights (I assume), no turn signals. Very scary. I am worried about driving my family (wife and 2 young children) in this vehicle. What has scared me even more is I looked up this issue online and I have found 100s of examples in the forums of similar (or exactly the same) issue happening to them! I have had all recalls completed on my truck and keep meticulous care of it. I am an engineer and understand technical details well - this electrical issue scares me. Not safe.
I am filing a formal complaint regarding a critical safety defect in my 2019 Ram eTorque, which posed a severe risk to my pregnant wife while she was driving. The vehicle’s battery unexpectedly failed, resulting in a complete loss of power steering and all safety functions, creating a hazardous situation in the middle of the roadway that could have led to a serious accident. This defect is not isolated. My truck has been at the repair shop for over two months, as the necessary replacement part is on backorder due to over 3,000 reported vehicles affected by the same issue. The widespread nature of this defect and the unavailability of parts amplify the risk of injury or fatality to drivers and passengers. I urge the Safety Advisory Board to investigate this defect urgently, focusing on the significant safety implications and the high number of affected vehicles. Immediate action is needed to prevent potential harm.
Smelling antifreeze coolant inside the cab while driving. Fumes are not safe to breathe and vehicle could overheat and cause engine failure stranding driver and passengers. Appears to be common based on Internet research.
Bad Cam Shaft and lifters on 2019 Ram 1500 3.7 liter 6 Cyl. Have been told it is a timing issue. Check engine light is on. Have been told by dealer not to drive long distances and that the engine could shut off while operating the vehicle. Parts are back ordered through dealer. Have waited at least 1 month but no parts are available. Understand this to be a common issue with this specific vehicle and engine. It's an expensive repair.
The MGU has failed just outside of the 80,000mile warranty. Looking online the MGU failing seems to be a big issue and the manufacturer doesn’t have parts stocked so it takes a month to get a new part. The cause is manufacturers defect
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal ticking sound coming from the engine, with a message that the "Fuel/Air Ration Imbalance" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the rocker arm bearings and lifters needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, several warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the windshield wipers activated independently, the power steering assist had failed, and the vehicle failed to stop while depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle went into LIMP Mode, with the "Service Transmission, Continue to Drive, “Do not Shift or Turn off Engine,” and "No Buss" messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact initially inspected the vehicle and determined that the battery, relays, and fuses were all satisfactory. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the vehicle had either a faulty ground wire or a computer. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

Engine failure after fuel pump recall replacement(37,500 miles). My fuel pump had a mandatory recall. I drove my truck in and everything was running perfect. I drove the truck less than 100 miles after the fuel pump replacement recal and it started to make nocking sounds and the gas was lagging , not accelerating normal. The gears were not shifting normal but rather jerking in and out of gears at different RPM's. I was on the highway in CA and I was scared that I was gonna hit someone or be hit myself from the gas lag and jerky shifting. I drove back into the dealership again 100 miles after the fuel pump replacement. I was charged $288 dollars for them to tell me I needed a new engine. No engine lights or warnings. Now 100 miles after the fuel pump replacement and 2 months out of warranty they wanted $22,000 to replace my engine. They said they would do me a favor and replace it for $4300 since I was 2 months and 1500 miles past my warranty. Now I'm left without a truck 100 miles after the fuel pump replacement. I couldn't afford a rental car and they didn't have any for me to rent at the dealership. I was soon fired from my job as I was scrambling to find $4300 just laying around. Now I don't have a job and $4300 plus $288 in debt on my credit card at 22% interest. These same fuel pumps have already had class action lawsuits on them for earlier models. Metal shavings were being produced within the fuel system. The other problem being reported was over heating from the connector rod to the crankshaft. The connection was overheating and causing bearings at the connection to fail. Once that happens 1 or more cylinders stop pumping correctly and the engine blows. So there are 2 possibilities for this engine failure. I am certain that my car was damaged by 1 or both of these poor engineering mistakes. They could have hurt or killed someone and they are hiding the real problem until they get caught.
While driving down a curving mountain highway above 70 mph, the gauge cluster displayed “shift to park” or “shift to drive” I don’t recall exactly. The transmission then downshifted dramatically, perhaps into 3rd gear, then the motor shut off.Thankfully, I successfully merged through heavy traffic to the narrow shoulder but the truck would not restart. After over 30 minutes of attempts (fuel tank above half)I called a tow truck. My family climbed up the hill to get a safe distance from the road. It was cold and dark and things could have gone much worse. Ram owners on internet forums have described this exact problem many times and it’s clear that this is a wide spread safety issue. This is the second time the truck had lost power while driving in the same manner. The first time the dealer could not replicate the issue while it was under warranty and returned it to service. No I’m out of warranty, need a new transmission at largely my own expense and there are zero available in the country. The dealer has my truck for an “indefinite” time period.
My alternator went out driving down the interstate. No indication that it was bad up until it died. Has been sitting at a dealership for about a month due to this particular part having almost 3000 on back order.
These are exact words from dealer. “PULLED VVT FROM MOTOR AND FOUND A LOT OF METAL SHAVINGS ON IT. AS SHOWN IN VIDEO AND PICTURE. FOUND TSB S1709000010 - REV B. Customer complaints may include abnormal engine noise, rough idle, lack of power, misfire. AS PER TSB, NEED TO REPLACE MOTOR DUE TO METAL SHAVINGS INSIDE OILING SYSTEM. The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jolted and failed to maintain the intended speed while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with a stuck valve lifter and that the cam phaser needed to be replaced. The contact was informed by the local dealer that the parts were on backorder and there was a waiting list for vehicle owners. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65-70 MPH, the vehicle vibrated, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the heat from the engine had melted a wire inside the engine. The repair was pending. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 94,500.

Driving to work my windshield filled up with steam to where I couldn’t see and needed to swerve and do an emergency stop. a smell of antifreeze filled the cab with a light haze, 60k miles so I began to do my research. There are countless forum postings about bad heater cores needing replacement. I am handy so I call my local dodge ram dealer and they tell me that there are over 3,400 heater cores on back order and they have no release date and that their shop is waiting on 7 of them. If someone experiences the issue I had today but in different circumstances it could turn catastrophically deadly
While taking a right turn into a busy intersection, vehicle lost all power and dash lights lit up indicating to put the vehicle in park. I put the vehicle in park and attempted to restart it. The vehicle starter cranked but did not start. I was able to roll the truck back by using the manual transmission release to get out of traffic. I disconnected the battery and waited approximately 5 minutes, reconnected battery, vehicle would start momentarily then stall. Had vehicle towed to dealership where they were able to start it and found no issue.
The truck has stuttered since I bought it when downshifting when cold. Sometimes when it sputters during a downshift it will display the message “ship to p and select gear”. Meaning the vehicle has shifted from drive on its own. The only way to engage drive is to stop and select drive. This has happened on the freeway a couple of times and the dealer says they cannot isolate the issue.
Engine ticking noticeably loud ticking noise loss of power and poor engine performance
The truck overheated and stalled and could not be restarted. The coolant level had fallen to a dangerously low level. The car was inspected and it is determined to be a coolant leak in the EGR valve body.
I took my vehicle in for an unrelated issue, a wheel speed sensor that was throwing codes. When I brought it in they advised me about a serious engine oil leak. This issue is too fold. . As far as I'm concerned this should have been a recall due to its seriousness. The housing for the oil filter is made of plastic mounted on the engine block. I live in Buffalo New York, where we were experiencing Sub-Zero to zero temperatures it is not unlike putting a hot glass in cold water it cracks, also if it is tightened too much it can also crack, which shortly before this incident I did have it in for an oil change and tire rotation, suggestion would be to perhaps make the part out of aluminum. This could have caused a serious issue with oil splashing back on the rear tires causing a spin out, possible accident, possible injury or worse. Mopar has known about this as far as I can tell from my research as far back as 2013 on the 3.2 and 3.6 Pentastar in their Jeep products in fact there was a 2012 Jeep in for service with the same problem. Apparently this has continued on the same engine in Ram also. I was told by the service people at Joe Cecconi Chrysler in Niagara Falls New York that it was nothing that I did wrong. I certainly believe that since they knew about this for such a long time that they should reimburse at least in part, if not in total of that related service up to including other parts related to this issue and the oil. I am further concerned about this being a continuing issue.
Alternator failure. RAM does not manufacture the part anymore leaving my truck in the shop for over 2 months. Problem has been confirmed by the dealer
My vehicle with 70k miles on it has had a failure of the motor generator unit (MGU). This is a mild hybrid system that provides power for the vehicle. My truck is completely unusable per the service technician at the dealership. If I continue driving it the battery power will drain and I will be stranded. It appears it is a bearing failure in the generator. Upon investigation there are numerous cases of other Ram 1500 owners having the same issue at relatively low mileage for such a crucial engine component. The part is currently backordered and I just read a report that there are over 5000 currently ordered in the system, so that would lead me to believe that over 5000 owners are having the same issue. Luckily I was near my home when this occurred as this could have left me stranded. Reports say it could be 1-2 months before parts are in stock to fix the issue. This just seems unreasonable for 5000 customers of a major automotive manufacturer to have potentially dead vehicles for 1-2 months.
While driving my ram truck, a notice goes across the cluster center saying to shift vehicle to park. No other lights go on like check engine lights etc. But the truck goes to a complete stop and makes you shift in to park then back in to drive this is dangerous because it happens to me while I am driving to include one time coming off the off ramp on the freeway possibly making someone rear end me due to the vehicle stalling I have seen lots of these issues on the ram forum this is downright dangerous. I will take it to the shop but others who have had the same or similar issues state there is no fix and it is random so it is hard to reproduce.
The driver reported loud sounds coming from the engine bay and an exhaust smell inside the cab. He mentioned that he passed out due to the fumes entering the cab during a warm up of the truck. An inspection revealed several issues with the exhaust manifold, including cracked manifolds and broken bolts. The cost of repairs was too high for the owner, as it would exceed $2,000.
Truck will not shut off. Had to disconnect the battery. ESC - Electronic Stability Control Warning came on Scheduled for inspection at dealer. No warning signs just happened suddenly. Would not start, had to jump the truck, then would not shut off followed by ESC warning. My VIN does not come up under the 85B recall but my truck has the issue
I came to a stop at a red light. The auto stop/start was active so the engine stopped. When the light turned green, I lifted off the brake and the truck started back up as usual. Once I got into the middle of the intersection, the truck stalled out and the parking brake set and skidded to a stop. I restarted the truck and released the parking brake. I made it 10 more feet and the truck stalled a second time and again set the parking brake. I had several cars swerve to avoid my truck. I started up and made it off the road to a parking lot. I couldn't replicate the issue and drove home cautiously. 18*F outside temp and recent snow storm.
Yes, a failing EGR cooler can indirectly affect the exhaust pressure control valve by disrupting the normal exhaust gas flow, potentially causing the valve to operate outside its intended parameters due to abnormal pressure fluctuations in the exhaust manifold, leading to potential issues with engine performance and emissions control. Explanation: Pressure imbalances: When an EGR cooler fails, it can leak coolant into the exhaust system, which creates steam and disrupts the normal exhaust gas flow, leading to uneven pressure changes in the exhaust manifold. EGR valve response: The exhaust pressure control valve (often part of the EGR system) relies on a specific pressure differential to regulate the flow of exhaust gas back into the engine. If the pressure in the exhaust manifold is significantly altered due to a failing EGR cooler, the valve may not function optimally. Potential consequences: Reduced engine performance: Incorrect EGR flow due to pressure fluctuations can lead to reduced power and poor acceleration. Increased emissions: Improper EGR function can result in higher emissions levels. Check engine light: A failing EGR cooler often triggers a check engine light due to the engine's inability to maintain optimal operating parameters. Key points to remember: While an EGR cooler failure directly impacts the coolant system, its effects can cascade to affect the exhaust pressure control valve due to the altered exhaust gas dynamics. If you suspect an EGR cooler problem, it's crucial to have it inspected and repaired promptly to prevent further complications with other components like the exhaust pressure control valve. The information that is above details why when the EGR cooler was recalled by mopar and then fixed is most likely the reason that caused my sensor to fail. The dealership where the recall repairs are being done is trying to charge me almost $1500.00 dollars to replace them even though they are directly related to the recall. ( 19V-757)
Active grill shutters code u11e9 we replaced wire harness and actuator and still getting code that’s causing an engine light .Brought to dealer and they did a recall on the air dam. Asked dealer to diagnose engine light after the fixed air dam and still getting a code for active grill shutter they told me I needed to replace active grill shutter. I explained to dealer we replace all the components to the active grill shutter. We live in MA can’t get a inspection sticker because of the engine light.
The car not turning on the engine light is on. The A! Light on.
RAM 1500 - 2019 - about 50,000 miles Vehicle had check engine light, code was failed spark plug. Also lost coolant. Took it to a independent mechanic shop near home and they confirmed the head gasket has failed via pressure test. Truck is 4 months out of warranty and the dealership / manufacturer is not helping me resolve the issue. The coolant was leaking into that particular spark plug. Can’t drive this vehicle and the repairs are in the $8000-$10,000 range. My local dealerships want to charge me about $4,000 to take the engine apart and determine what the issue is. Chrysler / RAM should be held responsible because they know this engine is known to fail and the cause of poor manufacturing. I’m out of options and I’m looking for any type of assistance or resolve to this issue.
Right side exhaust manifold leak. Made an appointment with the dealership but the parts are on back order and not expected to be here until Mid to late November. They told me it was a nationwide backorder due to so many issues with these trucks.
I got in my truck and once i turned it on a warning message popped up on the dash board saying power steering unavailable and gave me a red steering wheel sign. I put the truck in drive and the steering wheel did not move it was as if the truck was off. Its a huge safety risk because what if this happens while I am driving the vehicle and I lose power steering. Or if I have an emergency I cant drive my vehicle.
My vehicle started making a clicking noise and smelled like burning rubber. I took it to my local mechanic and my right exhaust manifold is cracked leaking co2 into the cab. This is on national back order because of the high demand for the parts. This is a national recall for similar parts on the same engine. I don't understand why this is not on recall as well.
Good morning, My vehicle was brought in based on a check engine light on or about August 6 2024. The vehicle is under full factory extended warranty. It has been in the shop for over two months awaiting parts. I have been told that a defective DPF is the problem, and the truck requires over $4600 in repairs. They claim none of this is covered by the "Bumper to bumper" warranty. I explained that the system never worked properly, that the truck only went into "Regeneration" one time. That is was serviced consistently by the dealership and is in perfect condition. So far, no replacement vehicle has been offered or provided. There was a summary judgement on these trucks and the sale was delayed pending correction of emissions problems. * I believe those problems were never addressed and this failure is widespread in the 2019 EcoDiesel RAM 1500. Further RAM has failed to maintain an adequate supply of spare parts to remedy a common failure in the vehicles. I was told there are currently 18 claims before mine. It merits consideration from NTSB that this judgment against RAM should be extended to 2019 vehicles, although they claimed to have: Fixed. them". I have written RAM, emailed the dealership, called customer service on numerous occasions and copies of letters are available on request.
Engine developed a ticking sound at idle. Turned out to be broken bolts on the exhaust manifolds which could have caused carbon monoxide to leak into cab of truck.
Many vehicles have the exhaust manifolds Crack. Yes it is available for inspection. This could be leaking CO in the cabin of the vehicle. I have talked to the dealership and they confirmed they have many vehicles coming in for exhaust manifold replacements due to them cracking. The vehicle has not actually been inspected by the dealership but exhaust can be smelt from the front of the vehicle. No warning lamps but exhaust is present in the engine bay
the truck only has 42,529 miles on it and oil pan is rotted/rusty and starting to leak oil
2019 Doge ram 1500 quad cab- the engine completely and immediately froze up and locked all tires in the middle of a busy 2 lane street- sounded like only 2 of the 8 pistons were barely firing, was told my engine was "toast-it sucked a valve"! I am an old school mechanic so I take care of every aspect of my truck regularly by professional mechanics- how can a truck not even 5 yrs old with payments still owed have so many issues and now if completely trash? In addition, I have had computer issues, rear camera issues, the side mirror just fell off on its own.....so many issues with this model. How can a dealership and a manufacturer legally sell such a piece of junk? Is there any recourse? Law suit- class action or individual ? I am deseperate for help- I was nearly killed on this street when it all happened- the engine completely died-battery drained-back tires locked up all in an instant while driving 30 mph.
Hello, I was driving on Highway 99 three days ago and my truck came to an abrupt halt after making some horrible engine noises. I hadn’t been driving my truck because it won’t pass smog due to check engine light on. I had taken it to a dealer in Lodi Dodge Dealer and they Did one recall on the fuel injector pump. I’m still not positive. What happened but I strongly believe after Research that the magnetic strip for cam timing failed. I’m trying to find an independent Agency that looks into things like this as I do not trust the dealer for a couple reasons. Not saying it here. Anyway, if you have any idea how I should move forward after that frightening experience losing all power to my truck, the dash turned red, no oil pressure no anything is what it was saying. I was able to get a tow truck to bring the vehicle to my home where it sits now and it’s been two months since I’ve really had a vehicle. I had to make an emergency run to get two bales of hay for my animals. I paid the registration, but I don’t have the tags because it will not pass smog.
I am receiving a warning light that reads: Service Shifter, Park sense not available, warning with no display, and the vehicle shifts from drive to neutral with a display message to put the truck in Park then shift to Drive while in motion. My safety is put at risk because when driving I have no warning the vehicle is going to shift itself into neutral and vehicles are driving behind me. I have to make a complete stop because I cannot accelerate in neutral. It has happened twice on a busy street in my city. I took the truck to Sierra RAM and they had the vehicle for 4-days and advised they could not replicate the issue. I drove off and immediately the Service Shifter warning came on. This is my second opinion the first dealer Envision RAM advised it is a software issue causing the warning lights to come on. I called RAM the manufacturer and they said to take it to a different dealership, and I did. NO others have checked the vehicle. I tried for RAM to come to dealership, I had a rep assisting me and they declined. There were warning lights coming on first time in April 2024, and I immediately called Envision RAM and took the truck into service. I drove off and the warning lights continued although I took the vehicle twice to Envision RAM they took my money and said it is fixed and it was not.
I was driving and the truck shut off causing me to stop in the middle of an intersection. I had to steer the the truck with no power steering. If I was going faster I would have crashed. This is what the Dealership found. CONFIRMED NO START CONDITION. SCANNED VEHICLE AND FOUND DTC P0340-CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT - BANK 1 SENSOR 1. VERIFIED GETTING FUEL AND SPARK. PERFORMED COMPRESSION TEST. 0 PSI. HAS FAST CRANK. REMOVED PASSENGER VALVE COVER AND CRANKED ENGINE. NO MOVEMENT. REMOVED TIMING COVER TO INSPECT. FOUND TIMING CHAIN SNAPPED. TENSIONER IN PIECES. CHAIN GUIDES DESTROYED. ENGINE OVERROTATED. BENT VALVES. DAMAGED CYLINDER HEADS. CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. RECOMMENDING REPLACEMENT OF LONG BLOCK
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with alternator, tension belt, torque sensor, and CV axle shaft failure. The contact was informed that the alternator, tension belt, torque sensor, and CV axle shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 82,032.

Vehicle developed the infamous "hemi tick" chronicled in multiple news articles, bulletins & complaints. Defective exhaust manifold design causes it to trap heat, melting the bolts and cracking the manifolds. This leads to loud ticking when engine is started from cold and can eventually lead to engine failure. Had to have both manifolds replaced, along with gaskets.
Only 65000 miles I wash everytime all the truck undercarriage is rust easy especially the oil pan in the engine. And I check too many people make complaints about the oil pan. Now my oil pan is crack and rust and it's $3000 to fix its insane. 4 years and gone. Car value over $45000.
Driving the vehicle and out of no where the power steer failed and the steering wheel locked up. Had 3 young children in the car with me and was blocking traffic due to being unable to drive the vehicle. The dealer inspected the vehicle and said it would need a new power steering rack and that he has never heard of this problem before when it’s all over the internet. The part is not available and it will be a minimum of 30 days with no estimated date. Vehicle has only 62,500 miles and has never been involved in any crash. This issue put my children at risk with no indication it would happen.
I started smelling exhaust fumes in the cab of my truck. I began inspecting the engine compartment and heard a noise from the left side of the engine. I also noticed reduced power from the engine and a puffing sound during hard acceleration. I researched online and found numerous complaints for the RAM 1500 truck with the 5.7 liter hemi engine manifold exhaust bolt shearing and manifold cracking. I took my vehicle to a RAM dealership. The left (driver) exhaust manifold was replaced due to a sheared center bolt and a cracked exhaust manifold. The crack went almost completely around the center of the part. Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 09-011-22, dated September 3, 2022 was issued for this defect for 2019-2021 RAMs with 5.7 liter engine. The dealership bill was $833.06, including $260 ($217 MSRP on MOPAR.com) for the kit and $525 for labor (2.5 hours per the service representative, so $210 per hour). This known defect is a serious safety issue due to exhaust fumes entering the vehicle cab and being breathed by the driver. A recall should be issued for this defect.
Upon acceleration from stop, and even while driving at speeds between 30 & 40 mph, the vehicle shifts from Drive to Neutral and displays "Shift to P..." on the display. This occurs repeatedly. You have to stop the vehicle and shift to Park then back to Drive. But it keeps occurring, over and over. It first occurred when I pulled out into traffic, the vehicle shifted to N and I had absolutely NO EXCELLERATION with oncoming traffic behind me. I immediately put on my hazard lights and steered towards the curb to attempt to get out of the way... traffic behind me was able to slow and avoid collision but this is an extremely dangerous issue.
The radio wouldn’t come on and then the car rpm just go down while I am driving and the check light came on
I was driving on busy road and truck completely shut down with a warning message”shifter autocorrect active” all power to truck died out and truck cruised to a slow speed and then abruptly jumped into park.i would restart it, drive few feet and it did it again. A few times it drove for a relatively longer distance but same message would come up and truck shut down in motion. Police had me take it off the road as i was causing very unsafe situations for myself and for all others around me. Had truck towed home, Unhooked battery once car got home to help reset it, took it out again and exactly same thing. Called dealer they said never heard of it , yet there are hundreds of complaints regarding this situation online. Taking it into dealer to have a diagnosis done
Passenger exhaust manifold is leaking fumes into the cab. The leak started in January of 2024 as a slight ticking and has become worse. The truck has 47k miles.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 75-77 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The low oil pressure warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the intake manifold had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 122,335.

There is a ticking noise I hear when the truck is first started and it is very obvious until the engine warms up and then it is less noticeable. I also noticed a decrease in fuel mileage. I had a mechanic look at it and he told me that the right side exhaust manifold was cracked. I ordered the right side manifold and new bolts and had the mechanic install them for me. Once it was installed when we started the truck the noise was still present but not as loud. I had him look at it again thinking that maybe the install was not done correctly and he said the left one was cracked as well. He showed me the crack. I got online and tried to order the left manifold but it was backordered. I told him that I couldn't find one and that I was on a waitlist at one of the dealerships for it. He told me I needed to try to get it ordered as soon as possible because further cracking could cause issues in the engine and cause a catastrophic event and ruin the engine. A year and a half later there are still no parts available. Upon further investigation I have found that this is a common event for these engines and has been for a very long time. The reason the parts are on backorder is because it is happening to most of the trucks with these engines. Also there is not a replacement part that fixes this issue so there are lots of posts online about it happening a second time after replacing the cracked manifold. The only alternative is to change the OEM manifolds out for shorty headers, which is a lot more expensive, and from the looks of it they are on backorder as well now. It's also a safety hazard because all the exhaust fumes leaking out can get into the cabin and cause carbon monoxide poisoning, accidents, deaths, etc. This is unacceptable. A recall needs to be issued and these vehicles need to be repaired at Chrysler's expense no matter the mileage. The worst part is that people agreeing to repair it can't because the parts are on an extended backorder with no ETA.
Oil Pan is Rusting and thin. Oil Pan gasket leaking warranty will not cover parts/labor. Oil pan holds vital lubrication for engine operation. Read tailgate handle does not operate properly. Must push closed to keep rear tailgate door from opening when vehicle is in motion
Jun 09,2022 Manufacturer Recall NumberZ46 NHTSA Recall Number22V-406 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete It is almost two years since this recall came out.
This truck has a serious safety issue that FCA is ignoring. The exhaust manifolds/bolts are faulty and leak exhaust gas into the cabin of the vehicle causing all passengers to be subjected to high levels of carbon monoxide and exhaust gases. This poses a serious safety hazard for bother drivers and passengers of all vehicles on the road. The company has been aware of the exhaust manifold issue affecting Ram trucks for years yet when this truck experienced a known problem the consumer (me) is still burdened with paying over 900 per side to get each manifold repaired and replaced. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially when both sides just fail like my truck did at the same time. I can’t sell it it’s not safe to drive. I can’t afford to fix it and it ain’t worth anything to trade in due to this known issue. Please help!!
This truck as well as multiple others I have seen complaints on multiple dodge ram forums where something is causing the battery to die then the stability control light comes on and the the truck will not change gears until the battery is completely disconnected to "reset" the computer and then it's like the battery never died. It works great with no issues for months then out of nowhere the exact same issue happens once again. We have spent thousands of dollars fixing this issue to no avail just keep replacing parts that apparently aren't the fix. So far we have replaced the torque converter, the battery as well as paying for multiple diagnostics to which they keep replacing the battery saying that is the issue but obviously it can't be the battery when it's getting replaced over and over SOMETHING is causing this draw making the battery die. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS AND ISSUE A RECALL SO WE AREN'T LEFT WITH THIS HORRIBLE TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS AND DON'T NOT WANT TO PURCHASE ANY MORE DODGE VEHICLES BECAUSE WE OWN ALL DODGE VEHICLES BUT NEVER HAVE WE HAD SUCH PROBLEMS AS WITH THIS 2019 RAM 1500 VIN [XXX] BECAUSE THIS IS BREAKING US. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I have a 2019 Dodge Ram Rebel I have owned since new. Two months after I got it it had the tick. I have noticed every dodge ram on the road has this tick I mean every ram. I have always bought dodge since I have purchased vehicles. Is the anything that you can do for me on this issue there is fumes coming in the cab of the truck and it’s unsafe since there is a problem with all vehicles in the brand. I’m hoping so because this is starting to turn a lot of heads and people do get an upset stomach because of the noises and this is not what a 80,000 dollar vehicle should have happen.
Lifter and camshaft failure, Spark plug and coil issues.
I have had my Dodge Ram 1500 in the shop from November 2022 through September 2023 five different times for defective camshafts vvt solenoids oil control valves. Issues still persist due to faulty machined parts from the manufacturer.
When driving the vehicle on the roadway, the vehicle will turn off the engine and will not allow you to accelerate and will flash a message to put the car in park. When you pull on the side of the road and place the vehicle in park you can then restart the engine. Once the engine is on and you try to put the vehicle in drive the engine will turn off again and request that you put the vehicle in park. It does this over and over for about 5-6 times until it does eventually allow the vehicle to stay in Drive and you can start moving down the road. Once you are driving in the road way it will repeat the process again. During this process there are no warning lights or messages being displayed other than "place the vehicle in park". This is extremely dangerous especially if I was on the interstate or Highway and I lost all capability to move the vehicle. I took the vehicle to a dealership and they were unable to recreate the issue and so no active codes that would point them in the direction of the problem. The dealership told me there was nothing they could do unless they had a code or could recreate the issue.
The vehicles power steering goes out. The wipers turn on automatically. The lights on the dashboard flicker. The battery voltage keeps dying. The message dash starts to go crazy and everything starts to say something is wrong. I was driving on interstate 95 when all power steering went causing me to lose control of the truck. I almost crashed. A car shop did inspect it but could not figure out why this was happening when I showed him the footage I took of the truck when this happened.
Happened twice within the last three months. The first time I was driving at a speed between 45-50 mph and vehicle shutoff with instruments reading vehicle must be placed in park depress brake and start engine. After coasting to a safe area to stop the vehicle seemed to have shifted into park just before a full stop and abruptly and aggressively stopped. Depressed brake and restarted then vehicle displayed same message again and shutoff, this time it would not restart. Inspected under hood for an obvious problem, did not find anything. After about 20 minutes vehicle started and was able to continue on with no problems until weeks later when vehicle again shutoff while driving. This time while driving around 70 mph on highway. Was able to coast to stop in emergency lane. This time the instrument panel displayed a TPWS error with no input to all tires. Tried to restart after coming to abrupt stop. Push to start had no power nor did anything inside the vehicle. After about 45 minute the depress brake and push to start symbol illuminated and vehicle started. Was able to make it home about 4 miles away the vehicle shutoff pulling into driveway. Loosing power at 70 mph is not a good feeling.
Notorious exhaust manifold & mounting bolts failure affecting ALL Ram pickup trucks with the HEMI engine. Exhaust manifold bolts are breaking and/or becoming loose causing a major combustion leak, exhaust manifold damage & posing a great fire hazard. Manufacturer is well aware of the problem at hand & has grossly neglected to issue a safety recall to mitigate the hazardous conditions, risking the lives of unsuspecting occupants. I first addressed this issue with the selling dealership service advisor upon an oil change of a newly purchased vehicle & was told the noise I was hearing was a perfectly normal “HEMI Tick”. Gross Negligence to say the least!!
Broken exhaust manifold bolt warped the exhaust manifolds. Exhaust fumes can enter the engine compartment using the recirculation button. This is a known Hemi issue for years
SEE ATTACHED NOTE REGARDING THE 3.6 PENSTAR ENGINE DEFECT.
While at a stop waiting to turn truck would not move. Saw a message on dashboard “ shift into park and select desired gear. This has happened more than once. Later that day I lost all power. Engine shutdown, no power steering or brakes. Message stated “ Place into park and restart engine “. Truck is hard to start. No accident either time. Dealer is an hour away. Afraid to drive it to have it checked. Ram blogs show I’m not the only one with this happening. Will someone get hurt? If I lived in a more populated area I would say yes. Someone will. A family with children would be hard to deal with.
Electrical system failed. A new battery was installed 1 month ago and on 10/28/23, I went to start the truck and it hesitated but started up then I lost power and it would not start again. I had it jumped and the service auto start/stop light, check engine and battery light came on. I pulled out from work and the engine hesitated. After proceeding over an overpass, I went to make a left hand turn onto the highway and a message came up indicating the power steering system had failed, the emergency brake came on and I again experienced a loss of power. I was able to get it to the side of the road on the on ramp where it shut down completely and had to be towed. Due to the loss of power steering, I was almost hit by an oncoming vehicle headed in the opposite direction. The engine also hesitated after starting, the RPM's were spiking to 4K every few seconds and it was producing a clicking sound before my initial departure. The vehicle was towed to Moyer Ram in Lebanon, PA pending an evaluation. In the past, this vehicle was in the shop 4 times for almost getting me in an accident as the vehicle would lose speed and the RPM's would spike and slow the vehicle down to less than 30 miles per hour. This happened several times and despite a dispute pursuant to the lemon laws and multiple videos showing what was happening, they ruled against replacing the vehicle. At one point on a local interstate, while traveling over 65mph's, it was like it slipped into neutral, I lost speed rapidly and was almost rear ended by a tractor trailer. I still have that problem 1-2 times/month but they will do nothing about it and the mechanic couldn't replicate the problem while the dealer had it. Bottom line is I do not feel safe in this vehicle and it's an accident waiting to happen.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired. The contact stated that she was not confident that the failure was related to the battery. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.
Mileage: 111,000
I have an oil cooler leak, a radiator leaking coolant , transmission running high. I have 110k miles on my truck and do routine maintenance. I’m worried about an engine fire or cracked block soon.
The exhaust manifold bolts have broken three times on my 2019 Ram 1500, LImited, 5.7L causing the O2 sensor to apparently trim the fuel out differently than when it does not leak, likely causing the truck to operate outside of the emission requirement. This has been an issue for many years for all owners, some dealers provide warranty repair and other do not. The diesel engine option for this same truck has a recall on the exhaust manifold, but not the gas engine. Please read the forums about this problem to see that nearly all of these trucks have this problem, causing a significant concern with "legal" emissions.
My Ram Rebel 1500 is once again in the shop for repair of broken manifold bolts. They have had my vehicle for 4 days now on this repair and multiple days on the previous broken manifold bolt repair. This is a continual problem with Ram 1500’s. I asked if they could put a better bolt in and they said no because the warranty covers certain bolts. So, I said I can expect this to happen again and only hope it is still under warranty? And the answer was basically, yes. The first time the bolts broke the mileage was around 40,000 i believe. The second time it is 51,000.
Water pump failure at 70,xxx miles, caused coolant to spray throughout the engine bay which will cause premature rusting and/failure of other components.
Good morning, I am the proud owner of a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Hybrid, which is one of 4 I have owned over the majority of decade. While I obviously have put my trust in Ram for a really long time, that trust has been being betrayed since I have owned this one. In the last 6-months alone, my Ram has been down awaiting one spare part or another. Parts that Ram recognized as a problem shortly after the 2019 Hybrid 1500 was released and made several mid-model-year engineering changes, but never issued a recall, and because those replacement parts like the New Alternator Harness, are only just now being released with most having a 6-12 week lead time. The Alternator Harness being one of the parts that my Ram has been waiting on now for more than a month. That said, if that had of been the only problem, there’s a strong probability that I wouldn’t have mentioned it! With this being the 3rd time in 2023 and another on late 2022, and not having the new (used) Ram I just bought and pay $850 a month for (not including insurance), and it with it seeming to be more of a systemic issue, with literally thousands of people dealing with similar issues on their 2019 and it’s something that needs to be addressed, as even if it wasn’t thousands, but only hundreds, or even 1-person having these issues, if Ram saw these as significant enough issues, that they felt it necessary to re-engineer them, then Ram’s customers shouldn’t be stuck paying out their hard earned money, for vehicle that should have never been released with the original parts design. In the instance with my 2019 Ram, having it be out of commission for almost have 2023 is hard yo chew! Especially when it has less than 50,000-miles, with only roughly 10,000 coming since I bought it in October 2021. When you add the fact that Ram redesigned the number of parts they did, then never did a recall, but still force the Customers to pay for those parts! My Ram has been down for almost 6-months just this year
Had bot exhaust manifolds replaced with under 44k miles first manifold cracked under 20k miles. Ram will only honor these repairs until 60k 5 years. Everyone I know has had theirs crack this is obviously a design or casting problem . It will likely happen again . Why is this company not held to fix these issues under initial owner after the warranty. especially if it is a known issue.
Exhaust manifold bolts broken on both banks and warped manifolds because of inferior product, common on all 5.7 hemi, exhaust gases get in the cab of truck at times, Dodge is aware and elects to do nothing about it after getting my 70000 dollars, complete bullshit, look on any ram forum and you will see
Hi The Stop/Start system is not working correctly, the engine stated to misfire randomly and now 70,00 + miles the stop and start system is making the truck unsafe to drive. I have taken it to my local ram / jeep dealer and the problem is not fixed.
RAM vehicles that are equipped with the 5.7 L hemi engine are known to have cracked exhaust manifold. This has been an ongoing issue since the 5.7 engine was introduced. Ram has done nothing to remedy. This RAM is continuing to charge consumers for Repair for a known issue. The consumers who do bring this to the dealership to have this repaired, or on a waitlist for at least 4 to 7 months for the part to come from manufacturer, while they are still producing 5.7 L engines with the same manifold why consumers are waiting a lot of 4 to 7 months, they have now elapsed their manufacture warranty and are not covered under that warranty and now need to come out of pocket for this repair This is a money grab and RAM. Needs to be Held responsible for this.
exhaust manifold bolts broke allowing exhaust gases into truck.
OBDII Codes P0300: multiple/random cylinder misfire detected P000A: A camshaft position slow response bank 1
The Dodge Ram that I had just suddenly stop and not restart. Had it towed to the Ram dealership. Belt tension broke. That's what the dealership said.
There is a design flaw with the block geometry, which leads to a condition where the rollers on the Lifters do not receive proper lubrication, eventually cease, and wear out the Cam. This happened to me on Sunday, June 4, 2023, while I was pulling out of a busy intersection, had a misfire, lost significant power, and slimly avoided a major car accident. The cost of the repair is still being evaluated; however, it will likely be measured in thousands. The safety issue is the real concern. RAM knows about this problem, continues to do nothing about it, and would not budge when I asked for assistance with this repair.
This is a known issue with the hemi motor. Dodge, still to this day, have not done a recall. My truck had 80,000 miles when the exhaust manifolds bolts were broken off due to warping. Dealership for whatever reason only replaced the gasket and the bolts but I have to go back again for the same exact reason. They will probably replace the manifolds this time.
Truck had check engine light and sever loss of power Intermittently. Brought to dealer to have it checked. Dealer said they cannot clear the code or fix the issue as the recall in effect does not have the parts out to fix. Recall z46 has been in effect since June of 22 and there is still no solution. I called manufacturer to ask about it and they all they said was quote "I'm sorry there's nothing we can do about it".
Exhaust manifold is cracked, and broken exhaust bolts.

2019 Ram Ecodiesel 3.0. I was Driving back to work on Easter Sunday 2023 after visiting family. It was a 5 hour trip, I was halfway through when the engine started making a loud banging sound. I pulled over & the engine died and would not turn over. I am sure the engine threw a rod, two other driver stopped & asked if everything was ok because they could hear the engine noise from their cars when it happened. There were no check engine lights or messages before or during the engine failing. I had to get a tow truck & tow it to the nearest dealer. It has been at the dealer for 2 weeks, they still have not diagnosed a problem but said if it is the engine it is on backorder & they don't know when it will be fixed & they refuse to give me a loaner. The truck is still under powertrain warranty. Where is my consumer protection? It is beyond frustrating to pay big money for something & not have what you paid for. I bought the truck for reliable transportation & Ram refuses to give me another vehicle. I am still having to pay insurance & car tag fees for my truck while I wait for an answer from the dealer, I have no idea if they will warranty it or when the truck will be repaired. On a separate note there is also an open fuel pump recall on my truck that is close to a year old with no ETA on a fix. I did not purchase a vehicle with plans to never have the recall fixed, I had one RAM dealer in Laurel, MS tell me it was an unrepairable recall & they were not even interested in purchasing my truck or a trade in due to the recall before my engine failed.
MY VEHICLE IS A 2019 RAM 1500 LARAMIE WHICH DEVELOPED A TICKING SOUND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE. AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE RAM HEMI ENGINE ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. THERE ARE MANY OWNERS STATING THAT THIS IS DUE TO THE ENGINE MANIFOLD OR BOLTS AND SOMETIMES BOTH CRACKING FROM WARPING OF THE MANIFOLD. AFTER INSPECTION, THE MANIFOLD AND BOLTS ARE BOTH CRACKED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN COMMON AND AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS.
To my knowledge this is a very common issue with the 5.7L Hemi. My 2019 Ram 1500 Classic bighorn that currently sits at just over 51,000 miles has notorious Hemi tic. I have done my research and have found over 75 people that have had the same issue. I have heard that it is due to too many hrs of idle time but I have read and seen many videos showing that the underlying cause is due to faulty lifters, cams and also the horrible MDS. I have noticed that Ram went to the engine management system that shuts the truck off when you come to a complete stop instead of the MDS that shuts down several of the cylinders when at a consistent speed. I would like for something to be done not only for me but other customers that like the Ram trucks! This has not been diagnosed by dealership but I have worked on vehicles my entire life and have done my fair share of research on this subject! Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Ticking noise. Issue with manifold. Had it fixed in 2022. Now it's occurring again. Called my local Dodge dealership and they said these parts are on back order because "so many are having the same issue". And asked if it was "still under warranty". #dodge When will this obvious recall actually be fixed? So many of your loyal customers are having issues. Your service depts are backed up with no parts. If you think we will stay loyal, you're wrong.
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Ram. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard an abnormal sound at the hood of the vehicle. The contact then stated that the vehicle started to overheat and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the thermostat and the oil pump and camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine head block needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact then stated that while making wide turns, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver and failed to return to a straight position. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however not assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

On Jan 2nd 2023 I just left the grocery store with my youngest daughter and heading home. While on the freeway my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie stopped accelerating even with my foot on the gas and my head lights shut off and dash lights were flickering and I lost complete power while making it to the next exit barely able to turn the wheel since no power steering was available and we made it about half way up the ramp and stalled completely. Yes I said up the off ramp and check the date it was SNOWING! WITH MY CHILD IN THE TRUCK. No power, no hazard lights NOTHING to keep us from getting hit. I was able to get it jumped went bought a AGM battery and by the time I drove back home which is about 2 miles the new BATTERY WAS DEAD. Bring it to the dealership after checking (voltages and that the battery can be and hold charge my OBD read only power drain with the battery and Engine dash lights illuminated. Can charge the battery and I would get about 45-60 min of driving because the battery wasn't being charged). I tell them it's the exact description of campaign (V87) 1. System unable to charge battery. 2. Losing power to everything. (Which could have killed us). 3. Only the battery and Engine lights are illuminated. This point to the MGU not working properly. However dealer ship told me it's not even close to that so I excuse them and asked them to repeat that and they said it was the 48v battery that went bad while quoting me $3,700.00 for the repair indicating it was out of warranty. With the age of these batteries die this soon on the E-torque systems that means EVERYONE WILL BE SPENDING AN AVERAGE OF $6,000-$9,000 EXTRA ON THE 48V BATTERY You need to do whats right and have this recalled immediately before someone has to die or worse a child dies.
2019 ram 1500 bighorn 5.7 slowed down truck started shaking really bad , throttle actuator mass airflow, stability control come on. Tried to start it quit and tried again engine started to turn over and stopped no lights nothing local shop said cylinder #8 gone engine locked needs engine 76,844 miles not under warranty had 2 other rams up to almost 150k no problems
The contact's husband owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The local dealer was notified of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Getting coolant/antifreeze smell coming from the engine compartment inside the truck. Happens when heater is turned on.
Exhaust manifold bolts broken causing exhaust leak and engine tick.
I have already had one mainfold bolt replaced by the dealer 8/6/21 before warranty expired and now I have another defective manifold bolt causing yet another exhaust leak. My vehicle has just over 72000 miles and this is a know issue with Ram and they need to take care of these issues.
Vehicle lost power while driving and received an error message stating please shift truck into to Park to get to desired gear. Had to turn vehicle off while in traffic to get it moving again.
Water intrusion through the back window seal causing damage to the module causing truck to shut down and stop working. Was informed by the dealer on 01/25/23 that that was the issue. Truck initially didn’t open with key fob opened manually with key and the alarm went off was able to start it but wouldn’t shut off so I had to disconnect the battery then after tht it wouldn’t start at all had to have it towed to the dealership it happened right after heavy rain for 3 days.
I have had to have the exhaust manifold replaced on both the driver side and passenger side of the dealer. From talking to the dealer this is a common occurrence from the factory where the manifold warps and cracks breaking bolts off in the block and causing exhaust leaks and noise. Both of these occured with less than 72000 miles on the truck and within a month of each other. The safety concern is the resulting exhaust leak that could occur in the cabin of the vehicle and could harm those inside.
Seat are stitching are coming off vehicle. Reddit and a lot of Ram groups have state concern do this. Manifold bolts break ad tend to melt because of truck heat.
Vehicle powertrain, engine, and electrical systems, including brake, power steering, and dashboard systems completely shut down (were completely 'black'/off) on three separate occasions - two of which occurred while operating the vehicle. The first occurred while driving on a public/local road in early Dec 2022. Although all systems lost power and were unresponsive, I was able to coast the vehicle to the shoulder without impacting moving vehicles or fixed objects. The vehicle was towed to a Ram Service provider where the issue was investigated for approximately 10-days. The reason for mechanical failure could not be determined, however, they replaced the battery and key fob as precautionary measures - partially at my cost. The basic warrantee expired approximately 3,000 miles before servicing, however the powertrain warrantee is still valid. The second instance was today, 1/10/23, when I parked the car. The shutdown occurred while stationary and in 'park'. After leaving the vehicle for about 30 minutes, it started again without explanation. I reported the incident to the Ram Service provider and began to drive it to the service provider. Upon arrival, it was suggested that I return on Monday, January 23 for the issue to be investigated on the 24th. While driving to my home today, 1/10/23, the vehicle lost all power and was nearly completely unresponsive. I was operating the vehicle at speeds in excess of 65MPH on a 6-lane divided highway with minimal shoulder. Again, I was able to coast the vehicle to the narrow shoulder where it was eventually towed from and to the Ram Service provider where the issue remains under investigation. The photos, taken today, 1/10/23, show the location where I was able to park the vehicle from the highway and the narrowness of the shoulder, and the tachometer and speedometer which show the speedometer and tachometer 'frozen' and still displaying RPMs/speed from before the shutdown. Notice no warning lights appeared.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle intermittently failed to start. Additionally, the steering wheel made an abnormal sound while driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

crankshaft retainer and seal kit is leaking oil.
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic 3.6L Pentastar that I was driving home in from being out of town, and as soon as I got back in town I started getting the smell of burning oil coming through my AC vents when I would stop. I assumed it was a car nearby, but once I stopped at my house the smell came back. The next morning I went outside and there were a few drops of oil under the truck, so I looked underneath and the transmission pan cover underneath my truck was covered in oil. I couldn’t figure out where the oil was coming from, so I took the truck to my mechanic. They took a look at it and saw that the leak was coming from my oil housing assembly, and oil would run to the back of my engine then spill down over the transmission’s bell cover and drip off the transmission pan cover. This mechanic is not a large mechanic by any means, and they said that they usually get 20-30 of these same trucks every year with the same exact problem: a leak coming from the oil housing assembly. They said that it happens because the manufacturer cut corners when making this part, and after 60-90k miles it will give out due to the heat coming off the engine. They also said that the manufacturer and dealers will try to blame it on the consumer stating they over torque the filter when replacing it, but that is not the case at all. It is the quality of the oil filter housing that is the issue, and the manufacturer needs to improve the quality of the part and do a recall for this part. My truck was just over 80k miles when this occurred a few days ago, and the mechanic was not able to get an aluminum aftermarket version of this part, so I’ll have another 60-90k miles before I have to drop another thousand on this part. Please fix this issue and issue a recall.
Vehicle engine shuts off while driving and engages auto-breaking feature. First occurrence was at steady 35 miles an hour, engine shuts off suddenly and no warning lights/codes are displayed and the emergency auto-breaking feature kicked in before I guided vehicle off the road to a complete stop with a delivery truck behind me almost rearing ending. I confirmed gas and oil levels are within range, checked TIPM fuses and none were loose or backing out, key fob battery replaced within last year. The next day the vehicle will start and immediately shut off, no warning lights or codes on the display. Looking online this appears to be an issue many owners are experiencing with no recall or definitive answer from FCA and is creating extremely dangerous situations. I have videos of the vehicle starting and shutting off unexpectedly. Occurred on 11/29/22, appointment with dealer is scheduled on 12/8/22 so no additional root cause information.
BOTH FRONT AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE. RECURRING REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND WHILE TRYING TO STEER. LOUD VIBRATION AND WHINING NOISE. REAR DIFFERENTIAL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAS FAILED.
The ram 1500 'tick' as it has become known has started on my vehicle. Just like other reports, it would seem the bolts on my exhaust manifold have snapped causing exhaust to leak into the cabin of the truck. The truck doesn't throw any warnings for it, and the only reason it was discovered was because of a slight 'ticking' sound that can be heard on engine startup. The vehicle does not have any recalls for the issue despite numerous reports of a similar problem. I took the vehicle to a service center where they confirmed the issue. No doubt, exhaust leaking into the cabin of a vehicle poses serious safety risks. The vehicle is currently available for inspection but will be getting fixed in the coming days.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 60-70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to a faulty engine with the Etorque system. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty had expired. The failure mileage was approximately 71,623.

Twice now the truck has acted like the gas pedal was stuck down even though it was fully released. The first time I was parking in my carport, I had just put the truck into park, and the rear tires started spinning and spitting rocks. I had to shut the truck off to get it to stop. If I hadn't had the brakes on to stop initially I would have went through the wall in my carport. Took the truck to the dealership, they said there was a recall on the floor mats, they replaced those, and sent me on my way saying that was the problem. The second incident was a week later while approaching red light at a downhill intersection I applied the brakes, but the truck continued to accelerate aggressively. The rear of the vehicle started to slide back and forth from the force of the tires spinning. I was going to hit the vehicle in front of me, so I had to forcefully put the truck from drive straight into park and turn the engine off. I had to flatbed the truck back to the dealership due to safety concerns, they kept if for seven days, and when I went back they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They said perhaps it's driver error and wouldn't say much else ,and they won't do anything about it because they couldn't get the truck to replicate what happened to me. The paperwork they gave me shows that only drove the vehicle one mile at best.
I was driving in my neighborhood and slowed down to take a curve. Going no more than 20mph the truck stalls and starts beeping. The 'drive' light indicator started flashing and the dash had a message to shift into 'P'. It then shifted itself into neutral. I had to stop immediately and put it in park and turned it off. When I turned it back on it was fine. Dealership could not duplicate.
Vehicle is burning anti freeze off and dealer can’t find cause because of no recall on the vehicle. Vehicle smells like antifreeze all the time when running. This has been going on for months now but got really bad this last weekend.
Exhaust manifold warped causing manifold bolts to break causing bolts to break. Dodge dealer Mechanic from dodge stated this has been a common reoccurring problem and has done hundreds of repair for this. It has occurred so many times there is a special tool made specifically for this issue.
ENGINE FAILURE: The engine is currently available for inspection. While driving approximately 50 mph, the engine quietly shutdown. The truck was immediately towed to a nearby Chrysler Dodge dealer and a tech tore the engine apart and claimed the #8 cylinder is bent, which caused catastrophic damage to the engine. No manufacture rep, police, or insurance rep or anyone else has inspected the engine so far. For almost a year, following a significant warrantied repair, a CHECK ENG light continued to illuminate. The same dealer (Jim Browne Chrysler Dodge Dade City, FL) the truck was towed to had previously completed a major warrantied repair to the engine. And the dealership reps continually claimed (at least 12 times) that the light was a "ghost" error code from the previous repair and that it wasn't anything to be concerned with. Since no additional repair was made, the dealership did not document a single one of the service calls regarding the 12 or so CHECK ENG light service visits. Jim Browne refused to repair the engine, because the vehicle now has approximately 5000 more miles on it than is covered by the 60,000 mile drivetrain warranty. A dealership rep also called their manufacturer rep and was told they were not interested in repairing the faulty engine. The vehicle has never towed a heavy load, never been loaded down with anything heavy, nor has it been used off-road.
exhaust manifold cracked on both pass/driver side replaced at dealer now cracked again 85k miles don't pull or haul anything

Well the other day I could smell a strong odor coming from the hood of my 2019 Ram. I started feeling a little woozy and light headed from the amount of exhaust fumes coming from the engine. I later investigated the smell and found that the engine was also making a loud ticking noise as well. I decided to tear down the vehicle and found that both exhaust manifolds were cracked in the same exact spot. Now the only way something like that can occur is either bad design, bad casting at the factory, or bad material used in casting. That would make Ram 100 % responsible for this defect. I'm not a scientist, but I would have to think that those gases escaping into the atmosphere would not be passing through the catalytic converter. If our planet is in a global warming crises that can't be helping out our atmosphere at all. I think Ram needs to replace every vehicle that has the same issue immediately. If not, no telling what affects this is making on our planet and the safety of everyone on it. Also a cracked manifold can cause engine problems like overheating and I would think an over heated engine can cease up and stop running. Now if someone were traveling at a speed of 70mph and the engine overheated and locked up, could possibly cause a fatality!
For the 3rd time now, while driving my truck either taking off from a light or stopping, the truck quit running and says to shift to park to start aswell as my shifting light flashing “D”. Tried to park and restart and it fails to start. Had towed every time to dealership. Twice they couldn’t find anything and once, this last time found a faulty battery cell and replaced it. Ram great for a week, voltage looks great on my dash, still quit running.
Timing chain cover leaking oil for 2nd time with only 32,000 miles on the vehicle. Ram dealer repaired once already in 2022. Loosing antifreeze but dealer says the vehicle is not. Service def system comes on at random and says see dealer. While this is happening it does a count down on the temperature gauge in the dash and check engine light comes on. Dealer say they can’t find anything wrong.
Starter stopped working and needed to be replaced
When I come to a sudden or slow stop either coming to a stop sign or going around a corner or traffic jam on the highway, my truck will sometimes surge and accelerate suddnly before coming to a complete stop. When that doesnt happen the truck will just drop into nuetral and the cluster will display " please shift to park then select desired gear". Its not just annoying but a safety issue since ive almost been rear ended twice and almost t-boned while my wife and 8 year old daughter were in the car with me. I cant moved till i stop the vehicle to put it in park and then back in drive everytime it does it. Its been happening ever since 25k miles and im at 52k miles. Ive take. It to the dealer twice and they daid they couldnt replicate the problem so they couldnt do anything. Then no dealer near me does courtesy vehicles except one 50 minute away from me but they only have two courtesy trucks and they are always out and have no idea when they will get them back and i work out of my truck so i need a truck so i can never schedule an appointment to take my truck in for anything including this issue. I just want my brand new truck to work that im paying $600 month for. I dont wanna trade it in and get stuck on a new loan and more money out of my pocket. This is the most aggravating experiance of my life and no way to reconcile the issue in site. Please help.
I was Driving On the Highway doing about 70MPH and the truck shut down on me and i had to Coast to the Sholder across 3 Lanes of traffic. Truck would not restart and had to have it towed. Had to Have the Truck towed to Dodge and when they looked at it they put it on the Computer and there were no Issues. This is scary
On 06-06-2021 my wife, daughter and Me and our three dogs, was heading to are first destination on are 2 week vacation pulling are camper. In about 150 miles into the trip started smelling diesel, pulled over on a narrow 2 lane road couldn’t see anything. So my wife found a road we could pull off on to check everything out a mile away, right before we made it to the road a (service electronic throttle) message came on, so made it to the road to pull off stoped and instantly smoke started bellowing out from the back of the hood. I hopped out and started feeling something burning my legs looked down and saw liquid aluminum dripping and yelled from everyone to get out, by to time we got everyone out the whole front of the truck way fully on the so I got what I could get out and my wife was on the phone with 911. Knowing that the fire department is 20 minutes out I needed to save the camper. Fire is past the fire wall now, pull the panel for the emergency release to put the transmission in neutral one of the airbags blew up in my face and couldn’t get it out of park. So somehow I shook the truck and camper enough to get the pin out of the hitch and somehow someone drove by and asked them could they help me pull the camper away, and we hooked a chain and pulled it away. 24 minutes later the fire department arrived and everything I saved from the truck was in the grass and burned up to hot to get close to get. So 24 minutes of hell was just starting legs, hand burned and contacts burned can’t see well and back thumping. Calling everyone like Ram, insurance company no one will help. So the volunteer fire department pulled are camper to their fire station and stayed the night there until are family could pull us back home. Then the nightmare of dealing with the scummy progressive fight for almost 3 months that would not pay market value the time of the incident and somehow took over my claim I had. I have videos and pictures of the fire.
Bolts holding the exhaust manifold to the engine block had broken on both sides. This led to a ticking sound coming from the engine bay while the vehicle was running
When I was driving roughly 25 to mph I lost all power. Engine was still rubbing and revving because I was pressing the gas but I lost all power to accelerate and no check engine lights were in. All guards were fine and I have over 3/4 of a tank of gas. I have noticed upon acceleration at random times I will have difficultly accelerating. I heard a loud knocking at which time the dealer said it was a lifter. I took it to an independent shop after the service tech Andrew told me it’s a smart motor and will correct itself so no need to make any repairs. I was told at the independent repair shop that I had a manifold problem and they replace the manifold. But today noticed again I’ve lost power and unable to accelerate while going 49 mph. Again told by Andrew that it’s a smart engine and will correct itself however it’sa safety issue when driving the freeway
At low speed usually coming to a stop truck shifts to natural dash indicates to "shift to park" once shifting to park and back to drive truck moves normally. The truck has had this happened numerous times. I reached out to ram care and they advised me to have it scanned at a service dealer. I had the vehicle scanned and no issues were reported. Since then the truck had switched gears at low speed to natural and shift to park . This is dangerous and safety is one of the feature of this vehicle and this can cause many issues to safety to myself or other drivers.
Turned left into a parking lot, approximately 10-15 mph, and the engine unexpectedly shuts off. Electric parking brake engaged and all warning dash lights came on. If the person behind me was not paying attention they would have collided with me. Was able to start the truck and drive into the parking lot. After searching forums online, this seems to be a common problem with no solution or acknowledgement from the manufacturer.
5.7 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel with MDS engine stop with low MPH and turning onto oncoming traffic. I was not accelerating, nor applying the brake. Just slowly rolling into a left turn. It has happened about 4 times and usually during a U-turn. Only two options to get it out of condition during oncoming traffic!!! 1) Engine dies, apply the brake, shift to park, release the parking brake, shift to drive 2) While still rolling in turn, engage/turn the shifter to neutral and lightly touch the brake pedal, the engine will start, then shift into drive
I was driving down the hill on a state freeway and the engine completely shut off. The drive light was flashing but I was unable to do anything or even indicate with flashers or turn signal. I was able to move to the side of the road where I shut the key off. The car did not immediately restart. But after sitting for a bit, restarted and drove fine
I purchased my truck new in Nov 2019. Since then I have had four different occasions where my truck has stalled while driving at low speed or while shifting from drive to reverse. Two of the occasions I was pulling away from a stop and the truck stalled and I was stuck in the middle of the intersection until I put the truck in park and restarted. Luckily there was no cross traffic so there was no danger in this situation but it could have been much worse. The last occasion happened a couple weeks ago when I was moving my truck in my driveway. I shifted to drive and pulled forward then put my truck in reverse. As I put my truck in reverse it immediately stalled. I put it in park and was able to immediately restart it. However, it did have a check engine light on. The next morning I was going to take the truck to the dealer to have the light checked but it had cleared itself and there are no codes stored so the dealer can't do anything.
2019 DODGE RAM. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ILLUMINATED SERVICE LIGHTS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE LIGHT, BATTERY LIGHT AND ADAPTABLE CRUISE CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING, LEAKED A LIQUID, SMOKE EMITTED FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THE DASHBOARD WENT DARK. ALSO THE TAILGATE OPENS INTERMITTENTLY, RADIO SHUTS OFF INDEPENDENTLY, VOLTS ARE READING LOW, AND BATTERY IS IN SAVER MODE.

The exhaust system builds up soot and causes the vehicle to malfunction or require excessive EGR cleaning. My vehicle has been in 4 times for the same issue. The dealership admitted they have had many of the same vehicles in for the same issue. It will freeze up when driving and prevent going forward. I have called Ram and they refuse to consider anything because my issue is a maintenance issue the dealership already told me should not be necessary until 60,000-90,000 miles and I should know it will need to be done every 10,000 miles if I do not drive more than I do. I was never informed of the issue when purchasing the vehicle brand new.
The vehicle has a tendency to hesitate when accelerating from a stop. It is as if the engine is stalling and then recovers. It occurs primarily when the engine is cold but has also happened when warmed up This is a safety hazard because it could leave the vehicle subject to collision form approaching traffic.
Driving on hwy 85 north kind in Atlanta going 65moh in rain truck stalls on 5 lane busy hwy in middle lane almost causes accidents . Engine bogged out and made it to side of road where engine failed to stay on , vehicle shakes when trying to start .....almost killed me
While driving, usually slowing from highway speed, all safety lights turn on on the dash board (cross traffic, anti collision, rear parking, ignition, stabilitrak, check engine). Also vehicle loses power and you can not accelerate.Engine runs on (assuming) 4 cylinders as it starts shaking like it’s misfiring. After you pull over and restart the engine all lights clear except check engine.Vehicle than runs normal.Check engine has cleared twice on me.Once after about 30 and second time after about 50 miles. In both instances I was away from home and had to drive back. The other few times was only a few miles away from dealer.Vehicle is currently at the dealer (7th time) with 35775 miles.Multiple tickets have been opened with FCA.In my own research I have found online forums with identical issues. The dealer is at the liss.Their techs can’t figure it out. They have replaced multiple parts but the issue remains. NOTE:Your system allows me to select three issues at the start of this form but I have three more under ADAS category that I was unable to select.

WHILE DRIVING ON APRIL 15, 2021, STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. TRIED JUMPING CAR NUMEROUS TIMES BUT STILL WOULD NOT START. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER AND CAR STILL WOULD NOT START. DEALER CAN NOT DIAGNOSE WHAT ISSUE IS AND CAN NOT DEFINE WHY CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, GENTLY TURNING RIGHT AND DECELERATING, MOVING APPROX. 60 MPH EXITING INTERSTATE WHEN ENGINE SHUTOFF. DASH DISPLAY READ MESSAGE TO SHIFT CAR INTO PARK. DRIVE SHIFT KNOB FLASHED 'D'. ACCESSORY POWER REMAINED ON. VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO A STOP, SHIFTED TO PARK, POWERED OFF, AND RESTARTED. DRIVER ACCELERATED VEHICLE TO MERGE BACK INTO TRAFFIC, TRIGGERING ANOTHER ENGINE SHUTOFF WITH THE SAME CONDITION. AFTER SECOND RESTART, WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN PARK THE ENGINE WAS REVVED TO VERIFY A POWER LIMIT REDLINE WAS NOT BEING SURPASSED CAUSING ENGINE SHUTOFF. AC/RADIO WAS POWERED DOWN AND VEHICLE REACHED DESTINATION 5 MINUTES AWAY WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. CAUSE OF ENGINE FAILURE UNKNOWN, ALL FLUID LEVELS/TEMPERATURES NOMINAL, NO SMOKE OR VISUAL INDICATIONS OF FAILURE ON THE VEHICLE.

I WAS DRIVING ON I-65 IN INDIANAPOLIS, IN TRAFFIC, WHEN MY ENGINE ABRUPTLY SHUT OFF AND THE IGNITION MODE SWITCHED FROM RUN TO ACC. THIS CAUSED ME TO LOSE ALL PROPULSION POWER AND I WAS FORCED TO CROSS LANES TO GET OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. LUCKILY, I WAS STILL A MILE OR TWO FROM THE UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ZONE, WHICH WOULD HAVE PREVENTED ME FROM BEING ABLE TO PULL OFF ONTO A SHOULDER. BECAUSE THE ENGINE HAD SHUT OFF WHILE THE TRUCK WAS MOVING, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IS PROGRAMMED TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK, BUT BECAUSE I WAS GOING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY (>5MPH ACCORDING TO MY USER MANUAL), IT JUST ALERTED ME THAT MY ENGINE WAS OFF AND THAT I WAS IN ACC MODE. AFTER PARKING THE TRUCK ON THE SHOULDER WITH HAZARDS ON, I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS BEFORE TRYING TO START IT AGAIN. WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND THE IGNITION BUTTON, THE TRUCK STARTED UP IMMEDIATELY, LIKE NORMAL, BUT THEN 2 SECONDS LATER IT CUT OUT AGAIN WITH THE SAME RUN-TO-ACC MODE SWITCH. THIS HAPPENED 6-7 MORE TIMES BEFORE THE TRUCK SOMEHOW STAYED ON RUN. I CHECKED THE ENGINE AND MY FLUIDS FOR ANYTHING ODD, BUT MECHANICALLY, THE TRUCK WAS FINE. NO CHECK ENGINE OR WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME ON. THE COMPUTER SYSTEM DIDN'T RECOGNIZE THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG OTHER THAN THE INITIAL INDICATION. I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME WITHOUT ISSUES AFTER THAT, BUT WHEN I WENT TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF, I COULDN'T. THE IGNITION BUTTON HAD STOPPED RESPONDING. I TRIED ALL OF THE USER MANUAL'S METHODS TO TURN IT OFF, BUT NOTHING WORKED. THIS VEHICLE DOESN'T HAVE A MANUAL KEY IGNITION OVERRIDE, JUST THE FOB AND KEYLESS BUTTON, NEITHER OF WHICH COULD TURN THE ENGINE OFF. THE FOB'S REMOTE START/SHUTOFF DIDN'T WORK EITHER. IN THE END, I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO FORCE THE ENGINE AND COMPUTER SYSTEM TO TURN OFF. I'M TAKING IT INTO THE LOCAL DEALER, VIA TOW IF IT WON'T START AGAIN, TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED.

I WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY IN TRAFFIC. I WAS ACCELERATING AT ABOUT HALF THROTTLE OR LESS, WHEN THE GAS PEDDLE WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR (FULL THROTTLE). THE TRUCK ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL, I TRIED LIFTING THE GAS PEDDLE WITH MY TOE AND IT KEPT GOING STRAIGHT BACK TO THE FLOOR. I WAS BRAKING AND TRYING TO NOT CRASH. I WAS ABLE TO CHANGE INTO AN EMPTY LANE AND GET THE TRUCK TO COME TO A STOP. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS AT A STOP THE GAS PEDDLE REMAINED ALL THE WAY AT THE FLOOR. I LIFTED THE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES WITH MY TOE AND IT WOULD FALL BACK TO FULL THROTTLE. I SHIFTED TO PARK AND THE PEDDLE RETURNED TO ITS NORMAL LEVEL. AFTER THIS HAPPENED THE TRUCK WILL NOT GO ANY HIGHER THAN 4TH GEAR NOW AND GOT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP.

LOCATION: STATE HWY 55, BUFFALO, MN, INTERSECTION WITH CENTRAL AVENUE DESCRIPTION OF THE ISSUE: WHILE STOPPING AT THE RED LIGHT AND APPLYING THE BRAKE, THE TRUCK EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN ACCELERATION BURST. EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKE WAS FULLY APPLIED, THE ENGINE WAS ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN AND PUSHING THE TRUCK. AT LOW SPEED (<5MPH) AND WITH THE BRAKE FULLY APPLIED, THE TRUCK HIT A STOPPED MINIVAN IN FRONT OF ME AND CONTINUE PUSHING IT TOWARDS THE INTERSECTION IN BURSTS AS I WAS DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. AFTER A FEW (THREE OR SO) BRAKE PUSH AND RELEASE ATTEMPTS, ACCELERATION STOPPED AND THE TRUCK (AND THE MINIVAN) CAME TO A FULL STOP. THE TRUCK PUSHED THE MINIVAN FOR SEVERAL FEET. THERE IS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO A TRUCK SINCE THE MINIVAN HAD A BICYCLE RACK INSTALLED. EXCEPT FOR THE DAMAGED BICYCLE RACK, THERE IS NO OBSERVABLE DAMAGE ON THE MINIVAN. AFTER THE TRUCK CAME TO A FULL STOP, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS ON AND BLINKING FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, THEN IT ON. THE FRONT PARK ASSIST LIGHT WAS ALSO ON. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE TRUCK TO CLOSES THE SAFE PARKING LOCATION. I COULD NOT RECREATE BRAKING RELATED ACCELERATION. POTENTIAL CAUSE: A WEB SEARCH SHOWED SEVERAL REPORTS OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION BURSTS WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE WERE REPORTED ON DODGE / RAM VEHICLES, INCLUDING RAM 1500. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEMS WAS ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THIS CASE. SAFETY CONCERN: IF I DID NOT DEPRESS THE BRAKE SEVERAL TIMES WHICH IN MY OPINION STOPPED ACCELERATION, THE TRUCK MAY HAVE PUSHED THE MINIVAN INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION AND CAUSE A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

TRAVELING AROUND 35-40 MPH I WAS APPROACHING A STOPPED LIGHT. I EASED OFF THE GAS AND WHEN THE GAS PEDAL NO LONGER "ENGAGED" THE TRANSMISSION THE COMPUTER/SOFTWARE DISENGAGED THE TRANSMISSION WITHOUT MY DOING. NO ERROR WAS DISPLAYED AND THE KNOB STILL SHOWED AS IN THE DRIVE POSITION. AS I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL THE RPMS ROSE BUT BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN NEUTRAL IT ONLY REVVED THE ENGINE. I HAD TO PULL OVER, MANUALLY PLACE THE KNOB INTO PARK, THEN WAIT A FEW SECONDS THEN BACK INTO DRIVE. THE TRUCK RESUMED NORMALLY AFTER THAT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL OR INTO A LOWER GEAR. I DID NOT TRY TO FORCE THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL WHILE IT WAS MOVING. THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE WAS THE POSITION OF THE GAS PEDAL I HAD JUST EASED OFF OF IT SLIGHTLY INTENDING THE TRUCK TO SLOW DOWN. LAST YEAR I HAD THE TRUCK SERVICED FOR THE RECALLS. TODAY 12/8/2020 WITH 7900 MILES ON THE TRUCK I PLACED THE TRUCK INTO SERVICE FOR THEM TO ASCERTAIN THE PROBLEM.

I PURCHASED A 2019 RAM 1500 IN JUNE OF 2019. IN OCTOBER OF 2020 I GOT INTO THE TRUCK AS I HAVE DONE FOR OVER A YEAR AND STARTED IT UP. AS I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND BEGIN TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, THE TRUCK WOULD AUTO-SHIFT INTO PARK AND CUT THE ENGINE OFF. THIS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN AS I KEPT TRYING TO PUT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE AND GO INTO MOTION. IT EVEN DID IT WHILE TRYING TO PUT IT IN REVERSE. I LMADE SURE ALL DOORS WERE SHUT, SEAT BELT ON, NO E-BRAKE AND NOTHING WAS LIT UP ON DASH. THE TRUCK SIMPLY WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO DRIVE AND IT WAS NOT USER ERROR. I HAD RAM ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE TOW THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL CERTIFIED DEALER WITH RAM TECHNICIANS. THIS WAS ON 10/16/20 AND THE TRUCK WAS IN THE CARE OF THE RAM DEALER UNTIL 10/19/20. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE ISSUE I EXPERIENCED. I THEN TOOK BACK POSSESSION OF THE TRUCK. ON 11/12/2020 I DROVE ABOUT A MILE FROM MY RESIDENCE PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK WHILE RUNNING INTO A STORE. I DROVE THE TRUCK ABOUT 900 FEET AND THE TRUCK AUTO SHIFTED TO PARK WHILE I WAS AT SPEEDS OF 30MPH. THE ENIGINE CUT OFF AND THE TRUCK HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT BACK ON AS IF I WOULD IF THE TRUCK WAS STOPPED. I PULLED OVER AND BEGAN DRIVING AGAIN FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET. AGAIN THE TRUCK SHIFTED TO PARK ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING SPEEDS OF 30MPH. THIS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES BEFORE BEING ABLE TO RETURN TO MY RESIDENCE AND CALL FOR A TOW. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER AND IN THEIR NOTES. THE TOW DRIVER EXPERIENCED THE TRUCK TURNING OFF ON HIM WHILE TRYING TO BACK IT OFF THE TRUCK. THE DEALER HAD THE TRUCK FOR SEVERAL DAYS BUT TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE WHICH HAS NOW BEEN EXPERIENCED BY ME AND THE TOW DRIVER. AGAIN I GO BACK AND TAKE POSSESSION OF THE TRUCK WHICH IS NOW MORE CONCERNING BECAUSE IT IS HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING AND THEY CAN'T FIX IT.

2019 RAM CLASSIC BIG HORN. IT'S BEEN QUITE A JOURNEY WITH THIS TRUCK. FIRST, ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT (FEB 19) I NOTICED THE BED WAS A COUPLE OF INCHES TO THE LEFT OF THE CAB. TURNS OUT, IT WAS THE CAB NEEDING ADJUSTMENT NOT THE BED. DROVE IT FOR A YEAR FINE. 2 MONTHS AGO I ATTEMPTED TO START AND IT WAS DEAD. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD WORK BUT IT WOULD NOT START'NOT EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER. I DISCONNECTED THE NEG BATTERY POST AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES, HOOKED IT UP AND IT STARTED. DROVE IT FOR A COUPLE DAYS THEN, BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE IT DIED'WHILE MOVING IT JUST DIED. IT WAS ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER FOR SOME WARRENTY PAINT REPAIR SO I FIGURED I'D DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AGAIN AND DRIVE IT OVER. WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR THE ALARM WENT OFF. NOTHING I COULD DO TO TURN IT OFF. COULD NOT TURN THE KEY TO OFF AND COULD NOT GET THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. PUSHING THE BUTTONS HAD NO EFFECT. DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY SILENCED THE ALARM. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY TRIED FOR TWO WEEKS TO FIX IT. THEY CHANGED THE IGNITION MODULE, AND IT DIDN'T' WORK. THEY REPROGRAMED THE KEYS AND IT DIDN'T WORK. THEY REPROGRAMED 1 ANOTHER NEW, DIFFERENT KEY AND IT DIDN'T WORK. THEY PROGRAMMED TWO NEW DIFFERENT KEYS AND SAID THAT FIXED IT (MAKES NO SENSE WHY THE SECOND KEY WOULD HELP). IT ALSO DOESN'T MAKE SENSE HOW THE KEY FOB MALFUNCTION WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO DIE WHEN IT'S RUNNING. PICKED UP THE TRUCK AND DROVE 200 MILES. THEN THE NEXT DAY IT DIED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AT 30 MPH, IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THEY CLEARLY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THIS THING AND WON'T PAY TO TOW IT BACK TO THEIR SHOP. THEY WANT ME TO SEND IT TO A LOCAL SMALL TOWN DEALER, 4 HOURS FROM HOME. I CAN BARELY GET THEM TO RETURN MY CALLS. THE SERVICE REP SAYS ALL THEY CAN DO IS HAVE IT TOWED TO THE CLOSEST DEALER.

SUDDEN LOSS OF ENGINE OIL DUE TO ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET BREAKING AWAY FROM FRAME CAUSING ENGINE TO DROP PUNCTURING THE OIL FILTER. 7 QUARTS OF OIL PUMPED OUT ALL OVER THE HOT EXHAUST AND ONTO THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE ASSEMBLY. WHEN I SAW THE SMOKE I SLOWED DOWN AND TRIED TO GET TO A SAFE STOPPING POINT OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. BY THE TIME I GOT THERE THE LOW OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR CAME ON. WHEN I FINALLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP OIL WAS EVERYWHERE UNDER AND ON THE VEHICLE.I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND GOT OUT THINKING IT MAY BE ON FIRE. THANKFULLY IT WAS NOT. I ALSO HOPE THERE IS NO ENGINE DAMAGE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND HAD IT TOWED TO THERE SHOP. I WAS INFORMED THERE WAS AN INCOMPLETE WELD ON THE FRAME BRACKET CAUSING THIS FAILURE. I OWN A 2019 RAM 1500 AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAS STOPPED ILLUMINATING. I CONDUCTED INTERNET RESEARCH AND LEARNED THERE IS A PENDING RECALL FOR 1... YES 1 RAM TRUCK IN THE US WITH THIS ISSUE. EUREKA, I THINK I'VE LOCATED IT! I CALLED THE RECALL PHONE NUMBER FOR FCA AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. THE CALL TAKER WAS UNABLE TO COMPREHEND THE ISSUE AND REPEATEDLY TOLD ME I COULD NOT SPEAK WITH A MANAGER. THE CALL TAKER HUNG UP ON ME. I CALLED BACK AND SPOKE TO A DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIVE AND SHE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER EITHER. THIS ISSUE IS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 19V556000. I NEED THIS RECALL TO BE ISSUED QUICKLY SO IT CAN BE FIXED. ACCORDING TO VARIOUS SITES, THE OWNER (I ASSUME ME) WILL BE NOTIFIED IN EARLY SEPTEMBER. MAYBE WE CAN JUST TAKE CARE OF THIS NOW. I AM CONCERNED WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ISSUE SINCE IT IS THE DISPLAY CENTER FOR MY ODOMETER, AND ALL OTHER WARNING SYSTEMS ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE PREVIOUSLY TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR PERIODIC ILLUMINATED CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. THE FIRST TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRUCK HAD NO RECORD OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT EVER BEING ILLUMINATED. I TOOK IT BACK AFTER MORE ILLUMINATIONS KEPT CONTINUING. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE TRUCK FOR A WEEK AND WERE FINALLY ABLE TO TROUBLESHOOT THE ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH MY RATHER LARGE RADIO SCREEN FAILING TO TURN ON AND / OR WORK. ADDITIONALLY, THE BRAKES SQUEAL LIKE CRAZY. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND SAID IT WAS JUST BRAKE DUST. THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 2,000 OR SO MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. I BELIEVE MY TRUCK ONLY HAS ABOUT 3,200 MILES ON IT RIGHT NOW, BUT I CANNOT REALLY TELL BECAUSE I CANT' SEE THE ODOMETER. THEN IT HAPPENED TODAY ON THE CITY STREET AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. IT WAS CLAIMED TO BE A SENSOR PROBLEM, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY AND I BARELY MADE IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR HAS MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON AND THEN WILL SELF ACCELERATE AND ONLY ALLOW YOU TO BRAKE. SOMETIMES IT FLOORS IT FROM A STOP AND OTHER TIMES IT BARELY MOVES BUT SELF ACCELERATION SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND ITS A MAJOR CONCERN. *DT VIN IS NOT AVAILABLE *JB *DT*JB *BF CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE CONSIDERED FOR LEMON LAW AND DEALER AND CONSUMER WORKING ON GETTING A NEW VEHICLE.*JB

WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING ,THE VEHICLE ENGINE QUITS AND LOOSES ALL POWER. POWER STEERING IS LOST AND ALL POWER IS LOST. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE ON MY TRUCK THAT HAS LESS THAN 5,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP REPLACED A RELAY SWITCH. I BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS RELATED TO A FAULTY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AS I ALSO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE POWER MIRRORS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO BE DRIVING THIS TRUCK WITH MY CHILDREN AND FAMILY NOT KNOWING WHEN AND WHERE THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT MY LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP. *DT*JB
