Car shut off while driving without warnings.
Service electronic braking system message came on along with the traction control light
Diagnosed brakes at repair shop and advised ABS Module failing. Saw online recalls for certain vehicles yet our 2019 has the issue and nothing was noted for recall. I have 4 daughters and our safety and the safety of others is at risk with a faulty system, The lights on the dash appeared a few days ago and went away and now have come back and have stayed on.
I took my truck to the RAM Dealership to check my ABS light on and Brake light on and 4 warning messages that the Brake system needs to be serviced. In the afternoon I called the dealer and the answer was that the ABS module failed and needs to be replaced, but the part is on national backorder and they cannot provide an estimate on when and even if a part will ever be available for my ABS module repair. Now I will be handed the keys to my truck back tomorrow where all warning lights are still on and no repair is even on the horizon, and it is still safe because the hydraulic brakes are still working. The ABS module however might not be replaced in a long time and I will be driving my vehicle without it working properly.
Having to replace the rotors and brake pads just about every 6 months. Constantly hearing the front brakes grinding into the rotors while driving. Front and rear calibers are not releasing pressure after brakes are applied. Issue began in 2022 after buying the vehicle.
On August 20, 2025, my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie was taken to the dealership for diagnosis after showing the warning “Electronic Stability Control system needs service,” along with a flashing check engine light. The dealer pulled diagnostic codes and documented U0403-00 (“Invalid Data Received from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module A”) as well as other communication errors. This is the same defect covered under Stellantis’ recall for ABS module failures that disable stability control in 2019 Ram trucks. However, my VIN is not included in the recall. A few years ago, the truck experienced the same warning, but the problem cleared on its own. Now it has returned and is documented with codes in the dealer system. The dealership acknowledged other recalls were already completed on my VIN, but refuses to perform this safety recall since my VIN is not listed. ABS and ESC failures are not the result of consumer behavior. This is a faulty system created at the time of vehicle manufacturing. There has been no accident or outside damage, and nothing the owner could have done to avoid this issue. The defect lies with the vehicle’s design and creates a serious safety risk for the driver and others on the road. I believe my VIN was excluded from the recall in error and request that NHTSA investigate and expand the coverage.
In November 2024, my 2019 RAM Rebel displayed “SERVICE SHIFTER,” “PARKING ASSIST,” and “CHECK ENGINE” lights. Dealer performed software updates, but one week later the lights returned. Dealer then replaced the parking assist module, but two weeks later the same issue happened again. I have brought the truck in multiple times since. Often the lights turn off before arrival, and dealer states no fault can be detected. I was told to bring it in immediately when the lights are on, which I did, but still no fault found. Problem continues, and now the truck has begun putting itself into park while driving or when stopped. This is an ongoing and serious safety hazard. I also added photos of others affected by the same issue.

The truck lost power steering due to the soldering on the star connecting being messed up. The truck also had 4x4 not available,as well as no brake assist in reverse due to the communication issue. The dealership had to replace the star connector due to soldering issue.
De breakes light its somethimes flashing in the panel and my suspensionsistem i pay tochange because its was damage and the garanted didnt apicate
While driving I noticed a message that said “service electrical brake system. I took it to my local Ram dealer. They hooked up a tablet that said there was something wrong with the ABS module and it needs to be replaced. The tech then told me that there are no ABS modules available anywhere in the country, they are on back order. So here is where the complaint begins. If there are none available, that would suggest to me that an awful lot of these ABS modules have gone bad and had to be replaced I then called Ram customer service and they requested I get an order number and part number from my local Ram dealer. I did so and they had another customer service person call and when I spoke to her she said the ABS modules are unavailable because they are currently under review by their engineers. Which tells me that there is something wrong with the ABS modules. There isn’t much more of a safety hazard then not having brakes. I don’t see why a recall has not been initiated by Ram or Chrysler for these ABS modules. I am asking you to start an investigation into this problem. I took my 2019 Ram 1500 to a Ram dealer on 10/21/2024 for the Anti-lock Breaking System Module Configuration Mismatch safety recall 75B/NHTSA 24V-653. There were no warning lights on in my vehicle when it was dropped off. When the dealership attempted to apply the safety recall it caused something in the ABS module to fail, and they then said I needed a new ABS module that will cost $500-$700 to replace. This failure has disabled traction control, antilock braking, and auto start/stop. The dealer said they did not have the ABS module and had no ETA as to when it would be in stock. The ABS module has been out of stock nationally for months with no estimated time of availability. Now, there are warning lamps and messages for the ABS and Traction Control. Now, I am unsure if the vehicle is safe to drive in adverse conditions where ABS and traction control would likely be needed. At the very least, a major part like an ABS Module should be available for a fairly late model vehicle. This defect "repair" has obviously caused the ABS Module failure. The dealer tried to say there was already something wrong with the ABS Module before the repairs were attempted, but neither I nor they noted any warning lamps or messages before the repairs were attempted. If the module had already failed but did not produce any warnings, that sounds like another defect that they should be required to repair.
ABS sensor isn't working so it doesn't stop correctly. They say they can't get a new one because they are back ordered so this must be happening to other Ram trucks besides mine if they are back ordered so far out they can give me an ETA on one.
I am experiencing an Antilock Braking System ('ABS') control module software malfunction that disables the Electronic Stability Control ('ESC') system. Last fall Sept 2024 was the first incident. I was driving back one night to my cabin construction project in Somerset, PA. It rained earlier in the day and everything was wet. I was almost back to the site, my dash lights started wildly flashing. The ESC SYSTEM OFF displayed, the (ABS) light illuminated along with SERVICE THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM. The front passenger side tire started to shake, just as I was trying to avoid a large pothole around a bend. My truck slid straight across it and slammed my front end down in the ditch. I had NO CONTROL. It caused my side airbags to deploy and the seatbelts to lock up. I drove out of the ditch, the truck was ok. I was close so i drove to the cabin. The next morning I inspected everything, in addition: the front bumper was bent, fog light hanging, wheel well was bent, and there were a lot of scratches. I am a small business owner, I didn't want my insurance to go up, and was waiting until I could afford to fix it. The latest incidents were during the last two weeks. First, I was driving on a 70 MPH highway, suddenly service air pressure system displayed and passenger tire pressure went to “0”, the ABS and ESC warnings displayed, and that tire started shaking. I pulled over to check the tire thinking I had a flat , but it was fully inflated. I turned off the truck, waited 5 mins then started it back up, "fixed" then drove home. Since then, the truck is randomly locking that brake, while I'm driving. THREE separate times it has locked up. I thought I was dragging something one day as I was backing up. Next day I was backing out of my driveway quickly and it caused me to slide into the road. I test drove away slowly, seemed fine. I went through the three stop signs to get out of my plan. It locked up at the third stop sign, as i turned right almost threw me into the sign.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle hesitated. There was an abnormal clunking sound coming from the vehicle. The parking brake, traction control, and ABS warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the stability control and AWD were temporarily unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rear sensor was damaged due to the plate dislodging. The rear plate covers the disk brakes had corroded and the bolt had become loosened. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

The service Anti-lock brake system, and service electronic braking system, along with the lights come on. Also the electronic stability control (ESC) disables, and that light comes on as well. The cruise control does not work either. My truck year model is 2019, and a recall has been issued (reference number 75B/NHTSA/24V-653) for this same problem, but my vehicle was not included for whatever reason. I Attached some pics. I really hope and pray, that y'all will be able to add it to the recall Thank you
I have warning lights stating that there is a problem with the antilock brake system, and another warning about the brakes. The electronic stability light is on , and the truck won't allow me to turn the ESL warning on or off. And also, my cruise control doesn't work, which stems from the ABS . There is an existing recall, which includes the year, make and model of my truck, but for whatever reason, my trucks VIN number is not included on the recall. The recall that I speak of, is : Campaign number: 24V653000 I've contacted RAM, and they said for me ⁶vto take it to the service department, the service department said they can't do anything about it.Sept
When I attempted to suddenly brake once I saw the car in front of me braking, my brakes locked and the truck slid into the vehicle in front of me. The failure of the ESC system did not allow the expected intervention that is relied upon to avoid a vehicle crash without prior warning. I was in the deceleration phase of braking quickly, but the brakes did not respond in a timely manner. I was not made aware of the recall of the ABS control module software until after the accident took place. If I would have been made aware of such a defect I would have taken the precautions and action to repair or remedy the failed system to avoid unnecessary risk to both myself and others. Sep 05, 2024 Manufacturer Recall Number: 75B NHTSA Recall Number: 24V-653 Recall Status Recall Incomplete Summary Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard ("FMVSS") 571.126 S5.1.2 ESC Functionality requires that the ESC system "Is operational during all phases of driving including acceleration, coasting, and deceleration (including braking) [ ... ]." Suspect vehicles may experience the ESC system being disabled when certain conditions are met. Safety Risk Failure of the ESC system when intervention is expected and/or relied upon can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Remedy FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles to update the ABS control module software.
Vehicle behaved erratically before repair and still does. It seemed a bit better after the repair but issues are still there. It lurches forward when coming to a stop and accelerates in a delayed manner, starting slow and then jumping forward. The 4 wheel drive issues system errors like overheated and function diminished. At times it just doesn't work. Systems turn themselves on. (axle lock) These issues existed since the vehicle was new with the dealership telling me they didn't know what could cause them.
The RAM trailer brake controller has two problems, causing unsafe operation when connected to a camper or trailer with electric brakes. 1) When coming to a stop and feathering off the brake to stop smoothly, the trailer brakes are released too early, this causes the vehicle to be pushed forward, often into an intersection, pedestrian, or a vehicle opinion front of you! Care must be taken to avoid this! Alternatively, the trailer brake controller lever can be manually pressed to avoid the trailer brakes from being released early. The camper was tested by the camper dealer as OK This same camper does not have this problem if tested with other tow vehicles such as GMC, etc. 2) The RAM trailer brake controller does not output a full 12VDC to the connected trailer, even with the gain set to max (10) and full brakes are commanded either by the brake pedal, or the brake controller lever. This causes the trailer to not have full stopping powerm reducing the stopping distance, especially in an emergency stop. If the brake controller output is tested without a trailer connected, it will show 12V output. However, once a trailer is connected, the output drops to about 9.6 VDC. The camper has been tested by the camper dealer and was found to be ok. The camper was also tested with other brands of vehicles (Toyota, GMC, Chevrolet, Nissan), and no other vehicles except RAM exhibit this problem. This problem was also confirmed at a trailer dealer by using an independent trailer brake test meter (IPA #9107B Electric Brake Force Meter). The RAM has been taken to a RAM dealer multiple times since new, and each time the dealer said the RAM is working as designed. I have photos of the tests made on multiple RAM vehicles showing this issue, as well as other brands showing that they do not have the same issue.
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while changing the brakes, there was an abnormal sound coming from the brakes, with an abnormal amount of brake dust accumulating on the wheel. The contact stated that there was an abnormal resistance while driving. The contact stated that the brake pads were extremely hot, causing the back of the pads to be melted onto the piston of the caliper. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Abs and traction control dash lights randomly illuminate briefly while accelerating, cruising or breaking. Stays illuminated for approx 20-30 secs then goes out. Have not noticed any effect to performance while actually braking. Speed varies* ...
The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 22 MPH, an unknown vehicle crashed into the side panel, however, the air bag did not deploy. There were no warning lights illuminated. There was no reported fire or injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The local dealer was not contacted; the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. Additionally, while driving 80 MPH, a semi-truck ran him off the road and crashed into a steel pole. The anti-lock brakes did not work. The occupants were wearing seatbelts. The airbags failed to deploy. The contact's face struck the front windshield. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver hit the steering wheel. The contact and his daughter were taken to the hospital by ambulance, which provided medical attention. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven away. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who determined the vehicle was working as designed and the failure was a user error. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 99,800.

There is a recall - say there is no current remedy Been almost 30 - winter is here — this becomes more of life and safety issue
To whom it may concern, I am making a safety complaint on a component that failed while operating the vehicle. My vehicle is a 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn DT. The component that failed and almost cost me to crash my truck while in reverse and parking is called The Park Sense and The Rear Parking Assist . I started to have this problem back in the Summer around August 2024. I have brought the vehicle in to my dealer ( CHRYSLER, JEEP, DODGE OF PARAMUS N. J.) several times already, the first time they replaced the Park Sense Sensor Module and reset the computer. No sooner then I got home from the dealership and was reversing in my driveway the error messages came on and the truck did not sense the garage door and continued to back up thankfully I was able to brake hard and stop 6 inches from the door. Not only did the Park Sense warning come on but also The Rear Brake Assist did not stop the vehicle like it has in the past. I brought the vehicle back to the same dealership and they worked on it for about 6 hours gave it back to me and said they rerouted the wiring harness for the park sense module and it was working fine. As I get into my truck to leave the error messages came on the dashboard so I walked inside and showed the service manager and the tech that just finished working on my truck. They said to bring it back, they had no regards for my safety or the safety of others letting me leave the dealership with the truck acting up cause from time to time the brakes would suddenly come on causing the vehicle to stop abruptly. Nevertheless I strongly believe that there is a safety issue with the truck's Park sense sensor and Rear Brake Assist too. I do not know what to do can someone please help me? Thank you.
- BRAKE warning light is flashing - PARK BRAKE light is lit Dealer says "software update" is not available and has no time frame on remedy.
The contact owns a 2019 RAM 1500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60-65 MPH another vehicle made an illegal u-turn causing traffic to abruptly stop, the brake pedal was depressed however the vehicle skidded and crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front. The contact mentioned that the vehicle crashed into also crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed. Two occupants from the other vehicles involved sustained unknown injuries reported by the insurance company to the contact. The vehicle was taken to a collision center for cosmetic repairs. The contact noticed via the manufacturer's app that the license plate for the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) and took the vehicle to a dealer where the recall was no longer linked to the vehicle therefore the dealer declined the recall remedy. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for the failure of the brakes. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

My 2019 Ram 1500 is experiencing the exact same issues listed in recall 75B but my VIN number is not part of the recall. The symptoms that it is having are the exact ones listed in your recall from 9/11/24 concerning the ABS and stability control issues. It is very disheartening that there wasn’t a better investigation done on this issue either on your end or on Ram’s end. I’m sure there are plenty more vehicles that are affected that aren’t in this recall. My truck did it as I was going highway speeds (70mph) and the abs and stability control issues also disengaged my speed control as I was on the highway. It was a good thing there wasn’t another car behind me or I would have been struck from behind.
Brake module is not working traction control not working and cruise control not work because of brake module not working
I am experience an Antilock Braking System ('ABS') control module software malfunction that disable the Electronic Stability Control ('ESC') system.” There has been a recall but my VIN number was not included. I have taken my truck to a mechanic several times but they are not able to identify the problem. This is an intermittent problem that occurs and can remain disable for weeks.
2019 Doge ram 1500 quad cab- the engine completely and immediately froze up and locked all tires in the middle of a busy 2 lane street- sounded like only 2 of the 8 pistons were barely firing, was told my engine was "toast-it sucked a valve"! I am an old school mechanic so I take care of every aspect of my truck regularly by professional mechanics- how can a truck not even 5 yrs old with payments still owed have so many issues and now if completely trash? In addition, I have had computer issues, rear camera issues, the side mirror just fell off on its own.....so many issues with this model. How can a dealership and a manufacturer legally sell such a piece of junk? Is there any recourse? Law suit- class action or individual ? I am deseperate for help- I was nearly killed on this street when it all happened- the engine completely died-battery drained-back tires locked up all in an instant while driving 30 mph.
My 2019 ram classic 1500 Lonestar. I had to hit my brakes firmly to avoid an accident and my truck went into a skid. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I limped the truck to my mechanic and after they diagnosed it, they said my ABS module failed and is now leaking brake fluid. he contacted the dealership and they refused to sell the new ABS module to anyone because they have recognized. There is a problem with the current 1 and it is being re-engineered at a later date. So I had to buy a used one and had my mechanic install it And now I have another faulty ABS module on my truck and I am worried if I get into a situation that I have to hit my brakes hard I am going to skid again and possibly get into an accident causing bodily harm or fatality. I called myself and they said they cannot sell it to anyone at this time.
Service antilock brake system on, told by dodge dealership that the problem is the abs module needs replace. Tech at dealership stated this is a known problem by chrysler but no recall has been issued. Due to this problem the part is on back order. And unable to be fixed at this time. Tech also stated that replacing this part. In the future could have the same problem again.
Quick hard accel (less than 5 seconds), followed by emergency braking, caused the brakes to not respond for more than one second. Brakes would not emergency brake, only had minor stopping force. This occurs on the first time, so brake fade is ruled out. Starting the vehicle, than rapidly putting into gear D or R, while brakes are applied causes vehicle to lurch forward or backward depending on the gear chosen. Movement of over a full truck length is possible. I suspect it's a problem with the logic in the electronic braking. I can reproduce it whenever I'd like, but no accidents have occurred yet.
2019 RAM classic with significant wobble /vibration during highway driving between 40 and 80 at cruising speed. Will do similar shaking during acceleration, but not consistently. We have replaced the rims, all 4 tires (the two rear wheels have been replaced twice), the vehicle has been balanced twice, once high speed and once with all 4 wheels. the tires have been balanced as well. The vehicle has gone to several different repair shops trying to troubleshoot the problem. Documents are available upon request.
Car went in limp mode then in full lock down. ABS control module failed After research a very common issue. Hundreds of Ram vehicles affected. Just escaped being hit as the truck went in limp mode. After Gear selector locked car in park, I was in the middle of the road with cars approaching. Had to stand behind the vehicle and wave, so no one would crash into me. Chrysler/ Dodge/Ram is aware of this issue. They are also not releasing ABS modules, due to being under engineer review, meaning they are unable to provide a safe part. Many trucks with super low mileage, and mine has 40K. I would feel very uncomfortable to go on a road trip, if it will ever get fixed. The contact has an email with Ram acknowledging the safety issue and diligently to get the part for repairs.
While driving approximately 35mph on snowy roads, the vehicle suddenly locked the brake on the left rear wheel causing the truck to slide uncontrollably spinning sideways into the oncoming lane (no on coming traffic at the time). The brake would not immediately release but I was able to get the truck to move to the shoulder in 4 wheel drive. After a couple minutes the truck made a clunking sound releasing the brake. the service stability light, ABS light, service 4WD light and service electric parking brake lights then lit up. Took the truck to my local Ram dealer to find out the rear brake dust shield rotted out within 5 years causing the dust shield to get tangled up in the braking system damaging the wheel speed sensor. My dealer said its a common problem and the wheel temporarily locking up is common when this happens due to the ABS system losing signal. Dealer replaced both rear brake dust shields and the wheel speed sensor at a cost of $680 (non warranty repair). Truck is a 2019 Ram with 42,000 miles
I had serval problems with the electrical and shifter all of the sudden all lights wipers all instruments turn on shifter wants to stop and cars turns off while driving on highway front brakes vibrate . I know there’s a defect with the electrical and is very dangerous because I looked up problems like mines and other people say they had the same issue with dodge ram 1500 . It happens unexpectedly while driving sometimes . The last time I almost had an accident because it happen nearly a the light was changing to red that was very frightening.
My truck got hit in the front right, including the front right wheel that had a fairly high impact, alloy wheel is bent in one section (see attached photo). After that impact I was not able to steer or apply the breaks. The steering wheel would not move either direction no mater how much force I applied. On top of that, the brake pedal was rock solid and no matter how much force I applied, I could not get the truck to slow down. So I was a passenger and had no control over the truck. We ended up hitting a car parked on the right side of the road (front right wheel was deformed and kept pulling us to the right instead of going straight). After the truck was towed, the people in the tow yard started the truck up and were able to drive it and use the steering and the brakes. So the problem I experienced after the initial hit was not permanent. Is it too much to expect the steering and the brakes to work after a hit to the front right wheel?
2019 Ram 1500 Laramie. Currently 23,040 miles on odometer. Warning light comes on indicating failure of electronic braking control and trailer brake failure. This condition renders stability control, antilock braking, cruise control and trailer braking inoperative. Very dangerous situation when you lose your trailer brakes when towing. Dealer diagnosed as ABS module failed, part not available until approx. March 2024 (8 months). FCA part number 68295368AC. I consider vehicle unsafe to drive. This is a well known problem with no indication of desire by FCA to remedy issue.
My ABS Brake Module failed with no warning until after failure. All dash warning lights illuminated after failure rear brakes locked up and would not release causing me to be stranded and requiring a tow service. Dealership confirmed failed ABS module and is currently being repaired but not covered by manufacturer resulting in out of pocket cost to myself. Truck has 57,408 miles on it.

The airbag(s) and Seat belt tensioner failed, and yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I was in a full frontal collision at 45 mph, the airbags did not deploy, and the seatbelt did not tighten or lock. I was thrown all over the truck and suffered several severe injuries, some of which may be permanent. RAM was notified and had stated everything was fine with the truck. But after detailed inspection by the collision center, they disagree and feel there was a malfunction. The insurance company after visual inspection also feels there was a malfunction. There is substantial frame damage, and the front of the truck was crushed. There were no warning lights or symptoms of failure previous to the incident.
Twice now the truck has acted like the gas pedal was stuck down even though it was fully released. The first time I was parking in my carport, I had just put the truck into park, and the rear tires started spinning and spitting rocks. I had to shut the truck off to get it to stop. If I hadn't had the brakes on to stop initially I would have went through the wall in my carport. Took the truck to the dealership, they said there was a recall on the floor mats, they replaced those, and sent me on my way saying that was the problem. The second incident was a week later while approaching red light at a downhill intersection I applied the brakes, but the truck continued to accelerate aggressively. The rear of the vehicle started to slide back and forth from the force of the tires spinning. I was going to hit the vehicle in front of me, so I had to forcefully put the truck from drive straight into park and turn the engine off. I had to flatbed the truck back to the dealership due to safety concerns, they kept if for seven days, and when I went back they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They said perhaps it's driver error and wouldn't say much else ,and they won't do anything about it because they couldn't get the truck to replicate what happened to me. The paperwork they gave me shows that only drove the vehicle one mile at best.
I was driving in my neighborhood and slowed down to take a curve. Going no more than 20mph the truck stalls and starts beeping. The 'drive' light indicator started flashing and the dash had a message to shift into 'P'. It then shifted itself into neutral. I had to stop immediately and put it in park and turned it off. When I turned it back on it was fine. Dealership could not duplicate.
I was driving on I-75 at approximately 73 mph when my instrument panel lights blinked and then turned off. My vehicle lost all power, I turned the steering wheel about 5-10 degrees to the right and my steering wheel locked. I could not press the brake pedal because it was stuck. I was able to get on the side of the highway where vehicle stopped. Hazard lights did not work, I could not unlock doors, start, or stop the car. When the tow truck came, they checked the battery and it had good voltage. The truck was towed to Feldman Ram dealership since 16 June 2022. I am being told that Mechanics are having difficulty figuring out the problem to this day.
I stopped at the 4 way stop at Hill street and Apopka. I made a right hand turn down Hill St. I went to push on the brake and the complete brake pedal and arm fell off and landed on the floor of my truck. At this point there was no brake to push, I put the truck in neutral and moved right and used the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. I got the truck to Plaza Dodge and they replaced the entire braking system. Evidently after some research on my part there had been a recall for the same issue on 2019 Rams. But only for the classic model. Well it seems they need to have one for the new body style as well. I have all the parts if needed to be inspected. There was absolutely no warning, and if I had been anywhere else and traveling at a higher speed, I strongly believe someone may have been killed.
Based on the inspections and investigation arranged by the insurance group (attended by the vehicle and braking system manufacturers), a “seized caliper” was the cause of a 2019 incident that nearly killed a family traveling from Illinois to Florida. A 2019 DODGE RAM was rented from Enterprise Rent-a-car (Illinois), for the purpose of transporting a family (and their personal belongings) to their new home in Florida. 8 hours into the trip, the truck was traveling 65-70 mph on I-65 South when smoke began emanating from the rear, drivers side tire area. The driver pulled to the side of the road to inspect the issue, and immediately spotted flames near the drivers side, rear tire. The flames were directly beneath the fuel tank, leading the family to abandon the vehicle. 911 was called and the county fire department arrived approximately 20 minutes later. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, and was a total loss. Fortunately, no one was (physically) hurt. Kentucky State Police also attended the incident, transporting the family to a local DQ for them to wait for their replacement rental vehicle to be delivered. This incident occurred on May 31, 2019. Disappointing is the best way to describe how Dodge and Bosch have handled this incident. Ilco, the insurance group acting on behalf of Enterprise Rent-a-car, completed a thorough inspection process, which suggested that a seized caliper was the cause of the incident. The family involved were verbally notified on the findings. End of story
The headlights will flicker. Coming off a stop the parking break would flash as a failure and not available. Goes on and off along with a few lights on the dash.
This truck makes a grinding or rubbing sensation when turning and when turning and breaking. The sensation comes from the steering column and vibrates through the steering wheel. It is audible as well. Obviously, this is a concern not only for me any my occupants, but for others on the road way as well as I do not know what is causing this rubbing or grinding. This vehicle has been checked out by my dealer and they do not know what is wrong with it, although they were able to experience the problem for themselves. They also informed me that this is a known issue and that Chrysler is aware of the problem as there are many other trucks like mine with this defect. This issue started very sporadically and has continually gotten worse.
Brakes failed to stop truck from bumper to bumper accident, I would've stopped in time but the brakes felt like it was sliding, it wasn't not stopping the truck. I had to quickly release the brake and try again but still manage to hit the truck in front of me. I noticed when I'm drive all day (especially in the heat) by the end of the day when I am using the brake, it takes longer to brake than it did earlier in the day. I assuming the brakes are overheating. Of course I am at fault for the bumper to bumper accident, claim number 31-22T8-87X with State Farm.
While driving, usually slowing from highway speed, all safety lights turn on on the dash board (cross traffic, anti collision, rear parking, ignition, stabilitrak, check engine). Also vehicle loses power and you can not accelerate.Engine runs on (assuming) 4 cylinders as it starts shaking like it’s misfiring. After you pull over and restart the engine all lights clear except check engine.Vehicle than runs normal.Check engine has cleared twice on me.Once after about 30 and second time after about 50 miles. In both instances I was away from home and had to drive back. The other few times was only a few miles away from dealer.Vehicle is currently at the dealer (7th time) with 35775 miles.Multiple tickets have been opened with FCA.In my own research I have found online forums with identical issues. The dealer is at the liss.Their techs can’t figure it out. They have replaced multiple parts but the issue remains. NOTE:Your system allows me to select three issues at the start of this form but I have three more under ADAS category that I was unable to select.
ON 2-23-21 MY SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM LIGHT, SERVICE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT, SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT, ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING ON MY 2019 RAM 1500. THE TRUCK IS UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALERSHIP IS MAKING ME DRIVE MY VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT.

LOCATION: STATE HWY 55, BUFFALO, MN, INTERSECTION WITH CENTRAL AVENUE DESCRIPTION OF THE ISSUE: WHILE STOPPING AT THE RED LIGHT AND APPLYING THE BRAKE, THE TRUCK EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN ACCELERATION BURST. EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKE WAS FULLY APPLIED, THE ENGINE WAS ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN AND PUSHING THE TRUCK. AT LOW SPEED (<5MPH) AND WITH THE BRAKE FULLY APPLIED, THE TRUCK HIT A STOPPED MINIVAN IN FRONT OF ME AND CONTINUE PUSHING IT TOWARDS THE INTERSECTION IN BURSTS AS I WAS DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. AFTER A FEW (THREE OR SO) BRAKE PUSH AND RELEASE ATTEMPTS, ACCELERATION STOPPED AND THE TRUCK (AND THE MINIVAN) CAME TO A FULL STOP. THE TRUCK PUSHED THE MINIVAN FOR SEVERAL FEET. THERE IS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO A TRUCK SINCE THE MINIVAN HAD A BICYCLE RACK INSTALLED. EXCEPT FOR THE DAMAGED BICYCLE RACK, THERE IS NO OBSERVABLE DAMAGE ON THE MINIVAN. AFTER THE TRUCK CAME TO A FULL STOP, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS ON AND BLINKING FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, THEN IT ON. THE FRONT PARK ASSIST LIGHT WAS ALSO ON. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE TRUCK TO CLOSES THE SAFE PARKING LOCATION. I COULD NOT RECREATE BRAKING RELATED ACCELERATION. POTENTIAL CAUSE: A WEB SEARCH SHOWED SEVERAL REPORTS OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION BURSTS WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE WERE REPORTED ON DODGE / RAM VEHICLES, INCLUDING RAM 1500. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEMS WAS ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THIS CASE. SAFETY CONCERN: IF I DID NOT DEPRESS THE BRAKE SEVERAL TIMES WHICH IN MY OPINION STOPPED ACCELERATION, THE TRUCK MAY HAVE PUSHED THE MINIVAN INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION AND CAUSE A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 3 MONTHS, WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ALL MY DASH LIGHTS JUST CAME ON AND MY TRUCK STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN EVEN WITH BOTH FEET OFF BOTH PEDALS. TRACTION LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, PARKING LIGHT, THROTTLE SENSOR LIGHT, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALL STAY ON. (HAVE PICTURE AND VIDEO) PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT ALSO STOPPED WORKING. TOOK TO RAM DEALERSHIP OCTOBER I BELIEVE AND THEY SAID PCM NEEDED AN UPDATE AND THEY DID THAT. ALSO REPLACED WHOLE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT HOUSING. WELL YESTERDAY DECEMBER 15TH SAME THING HAPPENED AND I ALMOST GOT INTO A WRECK. LIGHTS CAME ON SO I WENT TO BRAKE AND PULL OVER, NOTHING HAPPENED. TRUCK ACTUALLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN FROM 40MPH TO 60MPH. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FIRST THING THIS MORNING AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF FIXING ANY OF THESE ISSUES... WANTED ME TO LEAVE MY TRUCK FOR AN UNKNOWN AMOUNT OF TIME AND BUT THEY COULDN'T GET ME A LOANER OR ANYTHING TO GET ME TO WORK. SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO UNTIL I HAVE TIME TO LEAVE IT, PRETTY [XXX] SO NOW IM DRIVING AN UNSAFE TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY TO AND FROM WORK. KIDS AND WIFE ALSO DRIVE/RIDE IN THIS TRUCK. I HAVE A 2019 RAM 1500 I BOUGHT LAST YEAR THAT NOW HAS 20,000 MILES. WITHIN 5,000 MILES, I NOTICED BRAKE NOISE ISSUES AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN LEESBURG, VA). THEY TOLD ME EVERYTHING FROM BAD BRAKE PADS TO ROTORS TO MOUNTS - AFTER I REFUSED TO ACCEPT THEIR CLAIM OF NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING. AFTER TAKING IT IN APPROXIMATELY 6 OR 7 TIMES, THEY FINALLY CHANGED MOUNTING ASSEMBLIES, AND THE NOISE WENT AWAY. HOWEVER, I STARTED GETTING A VIBRATION BETWEEN 45 AND 60 MILES AN HOUR. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN, AND THEY SAID MY TIRES NEEDED TO BE REBALANCED, ROTATED, AND THEY SUSPECTED THEY HAD UNUSUAL WEAR SOMEWHERE. OF COURSE, THE PERSON TELLING ME THIS PROCEEDED TO SHOW ME MY TIRES AND NOTICED THEY WERE ALMOST LIKE NEW. HE SAID THEY FIXED IT TO THE POINT IT WOULD ONLY VIBRATE BETWEEN 75 AND 80 MILES. SINCE THEN, THE VIBRATION STILL PRESENTS ITSELF BETWEEN 45 MILES AND UP & NOW MY BRAKES ARE SQUEALING AGAIN.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, IN MAY 2020, I RENTED A 2019 DODGE RAM TO FACILITATE A MOVE FROM ILLINOIS TO FLORIDA. 8 HOURS INTO THE JOURNEY, THE VEHICLE ERUPTED INTO FLAMES, NEARLY KILLING MY SON, FIANC, MYSELF AND OUR PUPPY. FORTUNATELY, SOMEONE DRIVING BEHIND US FLAGGED US DOWN WHEN THEY NOTICED BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. WE WERE ABLE TO SAFELY ESCAPE, CALLED 911, THEN HAD TO WATCH AS ALL OF OUR PERSONAL EFFECTS AND SOME VALUABLES WERE DESTROYED BY FIRE. THAT WAS ON MAY 31, 2020, INSPECTIONS WERE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, WITH RAM BEING ONE OF THE PARTIES INVOLVED IN THE INSPECTION PROCESS. UNFORTUNATELY, THE INSPECTORS WERE UNABLE TO DEFINITIVELY SAY WHAT HAPPENED, ALTHOUGH THEY THEORIZED THAT THE REAR, DRIVERS SIDE CALIPER MAY HAVE SEIZED UP, RESULTING IN THE FIRE. EITHER WAY, NOTHING WE COULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY. WHILE I AM RELIEVED THAT WE WERE ABLE TO ESCAPE HARM, IT'S UPSETTING THAT ALL OF OUR KEEPSAKES, PERSONAL EFFECTS AND SOME VALUABLES WERE DESTROYED. TO ADD TO THE HEARTBREAK, WE HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM ANYONE ACTING ON BEHALF OF RAM. CONSIDERING THE NEAR MISS WE SUFFERED, I WOULD THINK THAT RAM WOULD SHOW SOME COMPASSION AND REACH OUT TO US. VERY DISAPPOINTING, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A DODGE AFFILIATED VEHICLE (AGAIN) IN MY LIFE.

TRUCK WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AT 40MPH. APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT AND THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD STARTED GOING OFF (ALL OF THEM). THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WENT ON AND OFF BY THEMSELVES, BLINKS DIDN'T WORK, HAZARDS DIDN'T WORK, THE RPM AND MPH GAUGES KEPT GOING UP AND DOWN. THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK SO I HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT, SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, WAITED 5 MINUTES AND STARTED IT UP AGAIN. SAME THING HAPPENED. SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND WAITED 10 MINUTES, STARTED IT BACK UP AND THIS TIME ONLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I MADE IT HOME 2 MILES DOWN THE ROAD. THE FIRST BUSINESS DAY AVAILABLE, THE DEALER CAME AND PICKED UP THE TRUCK. IT HAS BEEN WITH THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE WEEK. THE CALLED THE OTHER DAY AND SAID SOMETHING IS WRONG, THEY ARE UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE UP NOW. THEY ARE WAITING FOR AN ENGINEER TO REVIEW IT FROM THE MANUFACTURER.

I WOULD HAVE SELECTED OTHER ISSUES ABOVE BUT IT ONLY ALLOWS THREE. DRIVING WITH FAMILY ON VACATION WHEN ALL ELECTRICAL ON DASH STARTING GOING CRAZY. EVERY LIGHT ON DASH WAS FLASHING, GAUGES WERE BOUNCING ALL OVER, HAZARDS WOULDN'T TURN ON, LOSS OF POWER STEERING, LOSS OF BRAKES, WIPERS SPED UP, TRANSMISSION TRYING TO SHIFT GEARS, AIRBAG LIGHTS WERE ON, TRANSMISSION SLAMMED IN TO PARK ONCE VEHICLE WAS UNDER 5 MPH, AND SHUT ITSELF OFF. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO YORK CHRYSLER IN CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN. THIS WAS ON THURSDAY JULY 30. I HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO BOSAK MOTORS IN MERRILLVILLE, IN ON FRIDAY JULY 24 DUE TO SAME ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T FIND THE ISSUE. I MANAGED TO VIDEOTAPE THE ISSUE WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING. I ALSO LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND A COUPLE VIDEOS OF OTHER RAM 1500 DOING THE SAME THING.

STARTED WITH TELLING ME MY TIRE WAS FLAT. I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WHICH IS DANGEROUS AND THE TIRE WAS FULL OF AIR. THEN TOLD ME ELCECTROIC BRAKES NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. NOT TOO LONG AFTER THAT IT KEPT TELLING ME THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS NOT WORKING. I HAVE NEVER PUT THE TRUCK IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. ALSO THE ABS SERVICE LIGHT WAS FLASHING. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP 4 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT IT AND THEY TOOK IT INTO THEIR SHOP AND 'FIXED' IT IN A FEW MINUTES. VERY NEXT DAY EVERYTHING STARTED AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE KEPT IT OVER THE WEEKEND. WHEN I CALLED THEM AT LUNCH ON FRIDAY TELLING THEM I WAS BRINGING IT BACK THEY ASKED ME TO WAIT TIL NEXT WEEK TO BRING IT. THIS IS THEIR SECOND CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. I BOUGHT A TRUCK BECAUSE I HAVE A SMALL FARM AND I NEED IT TO FEED AND WATER MY ANIMALS. THEY HAVE HAD TO GO WITHOUT WATER ONE DAY BECAUSE I HAVEN'T HAD MY TRUCK 3 OUT OF THE FIRST EIGHT DAYS AFTER BUYING IT. ALSO THEY DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE ME A RECEIPT FROM WHEN I BROUGHT IT THE FIRST TIME UNTIL I HAD TOLD THEM I HAD ALREADY CALLED THE AG OFFICE.

I WAS DRIVING ON I94 EASTBOUND HIGHWAY, I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN FOR TRAFFIC THEN ACCELERATED AND THE TRUCK ACCELERATED AT FULL DOWNPOWER. I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE PEDAL STAYED ON THE FLOOR AND THE TRUCK KEPT ACCELERATING. I GOT UP TO 105MPH IN NO TIME AT ALL, THEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I POSSIBLY COULD SO I DIDN'T HIT THE VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME. THIS SLOWED ME DOWN TO ABOUT 60MPH SLOWING THE TRUCK DOWN ENOUGH TO MOVE FROM THE FAR LEFT LANE TO THE FAR RIGHT SHOULDER, WITH THE TRUCK STILL AT 5K PLUS RPMS, I THEN WAS ABLE TO PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL USING THE SHIFTER KNOB. THE VEHICLE THEN DISPLAYED THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. DURING THIS WHOLE TIME THE ACCELERATOR WAS ON THE FLOOR AND THE TRUCK WAS TRYING TO OUT POWER THE BRAKES. I THEN POWERED OFF THE VEHICLE ENTIRELY. I WAS THEN ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TO GET MYSELF OFF THE UNSAFE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AND THE THROTTLE WAS STILL STUCK TO THE FLOOR AND WAS TICKING WITH ERROR CODES READING ON THE DASHBOARD. I THEN TURNED THE KEY BACK TO THE OFF POSITION AND HAD TO WAIT OVER A MINUTE IN ORDER FOR THE TRUCK TO START SO I COULD GET OFF OF THE UNSAFE SHOULDER. THIS IS A HUGE CONCERN AND I HAVE STOCK FLOOR MATS IN MY VEHICLE. COMPONENT THAT FAILED WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM. TOOK TO CHRYSLER DEALER STATED NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAS ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT GAS PEDAL AND FACTORY FLOOR MATS PROPERLY INSTALLED. AFTER NEAR-MISS ACCIDENT I FOUND THE GAS PEDAL STUCK DOWN ON A VERTICAL RIB OF THE FLOOR MAT. PICTURES ATTACHED. WHEN PEDAL HEIGHT IS ADJUSTED FULL UP OR FULL DOWN IT CAN NOT REACH FLOOR MAT. WHEN ADJUSTED MID RANGE THOUGH, THE PEDAL CAN REACH THE FLOOR MAT AND STICK TO THE TOP OF THE FAR RIGHT HAND RIB. I WAS PULLING AWAY FROM A 4-WAY STOP GOING STRAIGHT WHEN THE 395HP VEHICLE MAINTAINED VIOLENT ACCELERATION. PRESSING THE BRAKE I BELIEVE STOPPED THE VIOLENT ACCELERATION OR DECREASED IT SIGNIFICANTLY. I NEEDED TO TOUCH THE PEDAL AGAIN TO GET TO A SAFE PLACE AND AGAIN JUST TOUCHING IT CAUSED VIOLENT ACCELERATION. REGAINED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OVER AND FOUND THE PEDAL STUCK TO THE TOP OF THE RIB. WAS A FEW BLOCKS FROM WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE A FEW DAYS BEFORE. THEIR RESOLUTION WAS TO CONFISCATE MY FLOOR MAT AND FOR ME TO GO TO A PARTS STORE TO BUY A NEW ONE FOR MY $45,000 VEHICLE. OUR VEHICLE HAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH THE BREAKS THAT SHOWED UP WITHIN A WEEK AFTER PURCHASE. IN THE FIRST MONTH OF OWNERSHIP OUR BREAKS LOCK UP WHEN BACKING UP FOR NO APPARENT REASON. TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THE TRUCK HAS TO BE PUT BACK INTO PARK AND THEN INTO REVERSE AGAIN. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AND NEARLY GETTING HIT BECAUSE THE BREAKS LOCKED UP. IT HAS HAPPENED IN OUR DRIVEWAY AS WELL WITH NO OTHER CARS OR OTHER OBSTACLES NEAR. IN THE FIRST MONTH IT HAS HAPPENED NO LESS THAN 6 OR 7 TIMES.

SEVERAL TIMES THE VEHICLE BRAKES HARD (AS IN LOCKS UP THE BRAKES) WHEN BACKING UP AND AUTO BRAKING IS ENABLED, BUT NOTHING IS THERE. SAME THING WHEN DRIVING FORWARD, FORWARD COLLISION WARNING AUTO BRAKES WHEN NOTHING AT ALL IS THERE, ALMOST RESULTING IN BEING REAR ENDED AT LEAST TWICE BEFORE I TURNED IT OFF.. AT LEAST I AM ABLE TO TURN IT OFF. I KEPT THE WARNING ON, AND IT GOES OFF ALL THE TIME WHEN I CROSS SPEED BUMPS OR SHADOWS FROM OVERPASSES. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND CONTINUES AFTER TSBS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO ADDRESS. ANOTHER KNOWN ISSUE THAT RAM ISNT ADDRESSING PUBLICLY IS BRAKE SQUEALING - THERE IS AN INTERNAL MEMO ABOUT IT, BUT DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT ADDRESSING IT - IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BREAK LIGHTLY TO SLOW DOWN BETWEEN 70-40 MPH, BUT THEY CAN NEVER SEEM TO REPRODUCE IT AT THE DEALER. I OPENED A CASE WITH RAM AND THEY HAVE DONE ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT THE DEALER DID...I AM MOST WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY FEATURES CAUSING AN ACCIDENT, PLEASE HELP! HAVING IT TOWED TO SHOP AGAIN ON TUES SEPT 3RD BEING THEY WERE CLOSED FOR LABOR DAY. SINCE I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK 1 YEAR AGO, IV HAD BRAKE PROBLEM ALL ALONG, AND NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE SHOP FOR IT. THEY HAVE REPLACED AND TURNED MY ROTERS 2 TIMES ALREADY, AND THAT HAS NOT HELPED.

I OWN A 2019 RAM 1500 AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER HAS STOPPED ILLUMINATING. I CONDUCTED INTERNET RESEARCH AND LEARNED THERE IS A PENDING RECALL FOR 1... YES 1 RAM TRUCK IN THE US WITH THIS ISSUE. EUREKA, I THINK I'VE LOCATED IT! I CALLED THE RECALL PHONE NUMBER FOR FCA AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. THE CALL TAKER WAS UNABLE TO COMPREHEND THE ISSUE AND REPEATEDLY TOLD ME I COULD NOT SPEAK WITH A MANAGER. THE CALL TAKER HUNG UP ON ME. I CALLED BACK AND SPOKE TO A DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIVE AND SHE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER EITHER. THIS ISSUE IS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 19V556000. I NEED THIS RECALL TO BE ISSUED QUICKLY SO IT CAN BE FIXED. ACCORDING TO VARIOUS SITES, THE OWNER (I ASSUME ME) WILL BE NOTIFIED IN EARLY SEPTEMBER. MAYBE WE CAN JUST TAKE CARE OF THIS NOW. I AM CONCERNED WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ISSUE SINCE IT IS THE DISPLAY CENTER FOR MY ODOMETER, AND ALL OTHER WARNING SYSTEMS ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE PREVIOUSLY TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR PERIODIC ILLUMINATED CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. THE FIRST TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRUCK HAD NO RECORD OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT EVER BEING ILLUMINATED. I TOOK IT BACK AFTER MORE ILLUMINATIONS KEPT CONTINUING. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE TRUCK FOR A WEEK AND WERE FINALLY ABLE TO TROUBLESHOOT THE ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH MY RATHER LARGE RADIO SCREEN FAILING TO TURN ON AND / OR WORK. ADDITIONALLY, THE BRAKES SQUEAL LIKE CRAZY. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND SAID IT WAS JUST BRAKE DUST. THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 2,000 OR SO MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. I BELIEVE MY TRUCK ONLY HAS ABOUT 3,200 MILES ON IT RIGHT NOW, BUT I CANNOT REALLY TELL BECAUSE I CANT' SEE THE ODOMETER. I HAVE READ VARIOUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE REGARDING THIS MODEL AND MANY OF THEM APPLY TO ME AS WELL.

WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY WITHOUT ANY OBSTRUCTIONS THE BRAKE ASSISTANCE WILL ENGAGE. THIS HAS CAUSED INJURY WITH HEADS HITTING THE CEILING AND WHIPLASH. FCA/RAM SAYS THIS IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED BUT AS DESIGNED THIS SHOULD HAVE PREVENTED AN ACCIDENT BUT DID NOT. THIS IS A CONCERN AS IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO MANY BY ENGAGING WHEN THERE IS NO OBSTRUCTION OR ANYTHING TO CAUSE IT TO ENGAGE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED ME THAT FCA IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT NO RESOLUTION FOR THIS. I AM TIRED OF NOT BEING ABLE TO USE A SAFETY FEATURE DUE TO IT CAUSING INJURY AND NOT AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS AND ONE TIME THEY MADE IT WORSE. THE LAST TIME THEY SENT ME HOME WITH A SIMILAR TRUCK AND THAT ONE DID NOT DO IT EACH TIME LIKE MINE. SO THERE IS A VARIANCE IN THE CODE FROM ONE TRUCK TO ANOTHER THAT IS NOT CONSISTENT AND CAUSES MORE HARM THAN IT WOULD PREVENT. I LOOK FORWARD TO A RESOLUTION BY FCA AS THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINT VIDEOS ONLINE ABOUT HOW THIS ENGAGES FOR GRASS OR OTHER THINGS THAT ARE NOT AN IMMEDIATE DANGER. IT ALSO HAS DONE THIS WHEN IT WAS RAINING ON A FLAT SURFACE. THIS FEATURE NEEDS MORE TESTING AND AN UPDATE SOON TO BE CALLED A SAFETY FEATURE OF THE 2019 RAM BRAND. A LINK TO THE VIDEOS CAN BE SHARED AND WAS EMAILED TO THE [email protected] ADDRESS. THEY ARE TO LARGE TO LOAD ON THIS SITE DUE TO THE TIME LENGTH TO CAPTURE ALL DETAILS OF THE INCIDENTS. THE VIDEOS ARE BOTH OF THE NEWER RAM AND MINE. THE DIFFERENCE IS MINE HAS THE SMALLER SCREEN IN THE VIDEO. IT IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH A START DATE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND AFTER THE DEALER "FLASHED" THE PROGRAMMING DUE TO A RECALL.

SINCE PURCHASE MY 2019 RAM TRUCK HAS LOTS OF ISSUES WITH THE 12 INCH SCREEN. IT CONTROLS EVERYTHING ON THE TRUCK. THE SCREEN GOES BLANK ALL THE TIME AND YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO CONTROL ANY THING ON THE TRUCK , STEPS , AIR CONDITION, HEAT ETC.... WHEN THE SCREEN ACTS UP THE AUTO RETRACTABLE RUNNING BOARDS STAY OUT UNTIL AROUND 15 MPH. ALSO THE AC AND HEAT WILL AUTOMATICALLY COME ON AND YOU CANT SHUT IF OFF, NO CONTROLS WILL WORK. I HAVE 27 VIDEOS OF MY TRUCK NOT WORKING RIGHT AND ALL DEALER SAYS IS SORRY WE CANT DUPLICATE. THE STEERING IS ALSO ALWAYS OFF. THE STEERING WHEEL GETS OFF TO THE LEFT THEN GOES OFF TO THE RIGHT. DEALER STATES IT TAKES 500 MILES FOR IT TO AUTO ALIGN IT SELF TO RE LEARN CENTER. FEEL FREE TO CALL [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TT

I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL ECONOMY BEING SEVERELY BELOW THE EPA RATING. WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP, I FOUND OUT THAT THE DEALERSHIP SOLD ME A BRAND NEW TRUCK WITH TWO OPEN RECALLS THAT WERE UNREPAIRED. I BELIEVE THIS IS ILLEGAL.
SINCE PURCHASING NEW, MY 2019 RAM 1500 (NEW BODY) HAS BEEN PULLING TO THE RIGHT WHEN BRAKING ON THE HIGHWAY. ITS NOT THE CROWN OF THE ROAD SINCE THE SAME MODEL LOANER TRUCK DID NOT PULL. I HAVE DRIVEN IT FOR 5600 MILES AND IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHEN BRAKING ON THE HIGHWAY. DEALERS AND FCA ARE NOT WILLING TO HELP DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE. THEY BELIEVE THERE IS NO PROBLEM. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS VEHICLE MY NOT BE SAFE AND OPERATING AS DESIGNED

02/05/19: BRAKE RECALL (* SOURCE: WWW.MOPAR.COM) 'AN ADJUSTABLE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY THAT ALLOWS THE BRAKE PEDAL ADJUSTMENT TO OVER TRAVEL COULD CAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO BECOME SEPARATED FROM THE PEDAL ASSEMBLY. IF THE BRAKE PEDAL SEPARATES FROM THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL ASSEMBLY, THE DRIVER MAY BE UNABLE TO USE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO APPLY THE SERVICE BRAKES, WHICH CAN CAUSE VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.' I'VE CALLED THREE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS AND ALL HAVE EXPRESSED THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME FROM FCA AS OF TODAY (02/23/19). THIS DOESN'T SEEM ACCEPTABLE AS THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED NEARLY THREE WEEKS AGO.

CAUSED FRONT BRAKE PADS TO WEAR DOWN UNDER 2000 MILES. DEALERSHIP INSTALLED NEW FRONT PADS HAD AND FILED THE ROUTERS. UNCLEAR AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED.

THE BREAKING PART OF THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM FLASHES A WARNING TO BREAK IN AND ALARM GOES OFF TYPICALLY WHEN I AM CROSSING A BRIDGE. WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ON THE INTERSTATE, THE BRAKING SYSTEM APPLIED THE BRAKES UNEXPECTEDLY AND BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE INTERSTATE. THERE WERE NO OBSTACLES ARE CARS ANYWHERE AROUND THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS NOTHING TO AVOID WHEN THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY APPLIED THE BRAKES. A CYMA ALMOST REAR ENDED ME BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER AND THE VEHICLE HAS SPENT 4 DAYS IN THE SHOP WITH NO SOLUTION ARE NO APPARENT CAUSE.

I PURCHASED THE TRUCK ON 10/4/2019. ON 10/6/2019 WAS DELIVERED TO MY HOUSE. AFTER GOING OVER THE FEATURES THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE LEFT. I TRIED BACKING THE TRUCK OUT OF THE DRIVE WAY THE TRUCK WOULD NOT BACK UP BECAUSE OF THE BRAKE SENSOR SYSTEM. THE BUTTONS TO CONTROL THE FUNCTIONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT WORK AS WELL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT SAME DAY. IT'S BEEN SITING THERE UNREPAIIRED. THE DEAL SHIP SAYS THEY ARE UNSURE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAVE OPENED A ' STAR CASE' WITH DODGE MANUFACTURE. I HAVE CALLED EVERYDAY ASKING FOR UPDATES THEY SAY THEY DON'T HAVE ANY NEWS OR UPDATES.
