Purchase Vehicle, Was told everything was top notch, I started noticing that the dash lights would be on as I approached my vehicle, Having never owned a vehicle with all the electrical. I didn't know if this was just a response of me approaching with key fob. I noticed one night they were still on. I notified the dealership on Jan.10 th. I have an appointment on Tuesday the 14 th. Jan.2026. I drove home the next County over. Nothing electrical works as of Jan 11, 2026. I believe. I ask upon purchase asked about prior problems.
The same issues related to NHTSA Preliminary Evaluation PE24018. Engine stall while stopped at a red light on, battery warning light on, vehicle voltage gauge extreme low, auto start light came on. It took several tries to get the truck started again. This has happened SEVERAL times since purchasing the vehicle in early 2022. Sometimes the check engine light comes on. Once it took several hours for the vehicle to restart.
The MGU on my Ram 1500 failed while driving down a main road in my town. A rattling noise started and the check engine light turned on and I called the dealership that same day to have it serviced. The dealership could not get me in for a few days so I did not drive the truck again until the day I could take it in. On my way to the dealership I got a half mile down the road from my house and all sorts of warning lights started flashing and the truck turned the emergency brake on itself as I was driving down the road. This put in a lot of danger because I was stuck and couldn’t get the car to start or even shift anymore and was stuck in the roadway. I had the truck towed to the dealership and they said this has been a common issue with the Ram Etorque engines, so the part is on back order and will take 7 months to get replacement. I feel if Ram knows this is a common issue for such a major component leading to such potential danger, they should recall this vehicle.
Go to start the truck and the tailgate comes down and clicking in the harness underneath the dash. This could happen going down the road. Not able to see camera when backing up because tailgate automatically goes down. This drains the battery when the truck is completely turned off. Dealer said corrosion and water got in the harness on a 3 year old truck. I'm left paying $1700 out of pocket on a three year old truck.
Engine stalled while driving at low speeds told me shift into park with no warning lights or messages at all. Got it started again and then stalled out again while I was trying to accelerate. I pulled over and it wouldn’t start right away but eventually I was able to get it started back up to drive it home. Could it be a software issue in the PCM
Turning corner, moving at slow speed. Engine shut off unexpectedly, parking brake auto-applied, truck shifted to park. Stuck sitting in traffic lane, VERY unsafe! Was able to restart truck and disable parking brake and resume driving but this was a very dangerous situation had there been more traffic.
My 2022 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses all functions controlled through the display, including HVAC/defrost, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, and performance gauges. This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information. Owners across multiple years consistently report: • Black screens, freezes, and reboots • Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions • Backup camera not displaying • Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open • Uconnect error messages • Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures • No option to decline or roll back OTA updates These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. My vehicle experiences the same issues, including black screen while driving, loss of HVAC, camera not available, system rebooting, buzzing noise and carplay connection issues. Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.
RAM does over the air software updates. An update they did early summer 2025 was likely for the RAM RHO and not the TRX. A lot of features changed to RHO graphics and the U Connect 5 system became unstable and would not load properly. While in this state, the ability to select vehicle functions was not possible. (Radio, suspension selections and modes, air conditioning etc.) Attempting a reset proves unsuccessful and the only way to get the system to reset is to turn the vehicle off for a period of time or disconnect the battery for a time. This makes the system work for a while until it decides to be unstable and not load properly again. It does this at inopportune times and is very annoying, and I feel makes the vehicle unsafe. The sad thing is the vehicle was working nicely before this OTA update and RAM seems extremely slow to acknowledge the issue. Almost all of the graphics now show RHO instead of TRX and one wonders what this has done to the performance of the vehicle since they have different power trains.

My 2022 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting Uconnect 5. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. These issues have been ongoing for over a year now without correction and Ram has no answer on when there will be a fix. The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving. I experienced a complete electrical system "shut down" or failure, on November 29, 2025 while driving from Stillwater to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It is available for inspection. However, I have replaced the battery as recommended by Quail Springs Automotive to get it back on the road again. I was driving my daughter home, and was making a right-hand turn off of Memorial onto north May avenue when the electrical system failure occurred and the steering and brakes failed causing the truck to jump the meridian and come to rest in the inside lane of northbound traffic just beyond the intersection. Oklahoma City police were called to provide assistance and mitigate oncoming traffic. The battery light came on and the Stop/Start function light came on at some point in the trip, but I'm not sure of the sequence or timing. The whole experience scared both of us to the core.
My 2022 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system. The issues began after forced over-the-air updates from the manufacturer early in 2025. The most concerning defect is black-screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses all functions controlled through the display, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, suspension annd steering settings, and performance gauges. This inability to access multiple functions creates an immediate safety hazard, including as a major distraction to the driver while the vehicle is in motion. Another highly concerning problem frequently observed includes a screen “spasm” where all visual displays are jumping around the screen and blinking multiple times per second, rendering the entire system useless. Even when these significant issues are not present, multiple distracting issues continue to persist including wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures and glitches - again while the car is in motion, causing major distractions. These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.

Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.
I own a 2022 Ram 1500 Bighorn with approximately 84,000 miles. This vehicle has repeatedly experienced a severe safety defect that began around 20,000 miles. On four separate occasions, the truck has suddenly decelerated in traffic without warning, would not shift out of gear, and in some cases would not shut off even when pressing the start/stop button. During the most recent incident, I was unable to pull over safely because the powertrain locked up, putting myself and surrounding drivers at extreme risk. My wife and I as well as a good Samaritan stranger almost got ran over while checking to see what's wrong. Police showed up and called for a tow truck, since the incident was happening in a state hwy. Each time I brought the truck to the dealership, I showed photos and videos of the issue, but the dealership claimed they could not reproduce it. Now the dealership is telling me I must pay $1,127 just for them to look inside the transmission, and potentially $2,800–$11,000 for repairs. This is a safety-critical defect that began well within the warranty period and has progressively worsened. A sudden loss of power and inability to control the vehicle is dangerous and could result in a crash, injury, or death. I believe this issue should be investigated for a recall or manufacturer responsibility due to multiple reports of similar failures in Ram 1500 models. I have videos of the incidents in 2025 at 80k miles, and a video in 2024 at 43k miles that show the live incidents.
The radio in my truck keeps displaying a message about my uconnect not working and to seen an authorized dealer. This message blocks my view of my backup camera as well as creates a distraction while driving. After this message appears, my assist and SOS buttons no longer function as intended. The dealer has replaced multiple components related to this issue and have not resolved the problem. A substantial amount of people online also have this same complaint.
Rear Defroster overheated which caused it to burn my rear window in my truck and shattered my rear window. The window was directly behind my son’s car seat, thank goodness he wasn’t in the vehicle when it blew. I’ve found multiple instances of this issue happening across social media pages Ram looked at it today and said it isn’t their issue. The only warning I got was the smell of burning electrical 5 minutes before it blew.
i was driving my truck in a parking lot going roughly 10MPH when the truck slammed on the Emergency brakes. the check Engine light started flashing as well as truck going into power save mode. I've had the truck checked and looked at at a ram dealer in Barstow CA for the same issue. they said they fixed it. how ever the same issue just happened again i filed a complaint that time as i was almost rear ended reference number 11688552 on 19 September 2025
I was stopped at a light and my dash light started beeping and flashing at random and the truck just shut off. My parking break got randomly engaged and the truck went back to P mode even though it was in drive prior. I turned the truck back on and the break wouldn’t release and I couldn’t turn the knob to drive. Had to turn it off again and after about 2 minute it left me drive again. Second time and I just bought this truck.
While driving at low speeds in downtown traffic with the automatic stop/start system active, I stopped at a red light. The system engaged and shut off the engine as expected. However, when I attempted to accelerate, the truck stalled. The gear shift unexpectedly moved from Drive to Park, and the parking brake activated. I applied the brake and restarted the engine, but had to manually disengage the parking brake before continuing. At the next red light, the stop/start system again shut off the engine. Upon attempting to drive, the truck stalled a second time. I restarted the engine, but this time the auto stop alert and battery warning lights illuminated. The truck moved forward very slowly, appeared to struggle shifting into gear, and then suddenly lurched forward. I had to quickly apply the brakes to regain control. The vehicle is currently at the dealership undergoing inspection for a faulty tire pressure sensor and this auto stop system problem. This is the third time the truck has experienced the auto stop issue in the past two years. The problem has not been able to be replicated at the dealership and no repairs have been made.
The vehicle shuts off and throws it in emergency park while im driving or slowing down and will stall this can cause a major accident for me and my kids.
Truck slows down and eventually loses power in middle of driving. All electrical goes out- have to wait, turn off and turn on again. Also, Scan found POAEE-00 & POBD4-00 check engine light on at 60,100

The low voltage light came on. Voltage was at 11.5V. I continued driving. Voltage dropped below 9V. I pulled into a parking lot. At low speed, the power steering shut down, braking assist, parking sensors, and other functions shut down and the vehicle stalled. Vehicle automatically shifted to Park and engaged the electronic parking brake. Car would no re-start and was towed to the dealer. Car is currently at the dealer with a diagnosis to replace the 12V battery as a first step. I am concerned to drive the vehicle based on similar consumer complaints related to PE24018. If root cause is not addressed (eg, only replacing 12V battery), I feel my safety is at risk if the vehicle shuts down again in a situation where I was unable to pull off the road before the vehicle shut itself down due to low voltage.
The vehicle is a 2022 RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cab that experienced a complete failure of the 48-volt eTorque battery pack and Motor Generator Unit (MGU). On August 1, 2025, at approximately 11,374 miles, the truck became inoperable and had to be towed to the dealership. The dealership confirmed the failure of the eTorque hybrid system components. The vehicle has remained out of service since August 1, 2025, with multiple delays in sourcing the required replacement parts (battery pack and MGU). As of early October 2025, the truck remains at the dealership and has been non-operational for over 60 consecutive days. Safety Concerns: This failure presented a serious safety risk because the truck could not be driven or restarted after it stalled in the middle of a busy street. If the failure had occurred on a freeway or in traffic, the sudden loss of power could have led to a collision, placing the driver, passengers, and others on the road at risk. Inspection and Repairs: The failure was reproduced and confirmed by [XXX] Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM (La Mesa, CA). Chrysler/Stellantis engineering reviewed the case under Case #93835258 and authorized replacement parts. As of now, the vehicle is still not restored to operational condition despite multiple part shipments and attempted repairs. Warning/Failure Indicators: Prior to failure, the vehicle did NOT display warning lamps and messages associated with the hybrid system malfunction. Once the fault occurred, the vehicle could not run. Summary: Component(s) failed: 48V eTorque battery pack and Motor Generator Unit (MGU). Risk: Sudden loss of propulsion, high safety risk. Inspection: Confirmed by dealership and Stellantis engineers. Out of service: Vehicle has been non-operational since August 1, 2025 (over 60 days). Availability: The vehicle remains at the dealership and can be inspected upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Complaint Summary My 2022 Ram 1500 has a recurring safety issue where the engine shuts off unexpectedly after coming to a complete stop and then attempting to accelerate. This typically occurs at stop signs. When it happens, the dashboard flashes warnings, the emergency brake sometimes engages, and the truck prompts me to “apply brake and push start button.” I’ve nearly been rear-ended due to the sudden loss of power. Safety Concerns This issue poses a serious safety risk. The truck stalls in traffic, leaving me vulnerable to collisions. The unpredictability of the failure makes it difficult to drive with confidence, especially when transporting my family. Request for Action I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue further and work with Stellantis (Ram’s parent company) to identify the root cause and issue a recall or software fix. Owners deserve a safe and reliable vehicle, and this defect undermines that trust.
The vehicle stalled randomly and applied the emergency break the and shut the truck off in the middle of the road I had to wait almost 10 minutes for the truck to even turn back on, this almost caused an accident luckily, the car behind me wasn’t following too close.
While driving my vehicle broke down in the middle of the road and locked up the engine because of the etorque generator. I was blocking traffic and had to be assisted by police and then towed. This is the second time this component has failed in 14 months. Both times leaving me stranded. I am now being told it could be weeks or months before the dealer can get my part. The etorque also caused the starter to lock up and it also now must be replaced. The vehicle broke down right after I got off the interstate 2 minutes earlier and I would of been on I-20 with vehicles traveling 70 mph. Someone is going to get hurt or killed because of this part.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle jerked. Additionally, the battery failed to recharge. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the motor generator unit (MGU) and battery pack control module needed to be replaced; however, the battery pack control module was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
Mileage: 44,000
The vehicle components like the AC , front windows, The touch screen monitor, and the radio won’t turn on . Shows a lettering “ 115V Cargo power outlet on “ on the . A non-functional A/C can dangerously affect a driver's physical and mental state, while a broken backup camera increases the risk of backover accidents due to a lack of visibility. Both issues compromise driving safety by impairing a driver's awareness and ability to operate the vehicle. Problem has been confirmed by dealer . No vehicle hasn’t been inspected. Messages said “115V Cargo power outlet on “ and appeared on 31st of August.
Alternator/generator went out and there are no available parts. This actually happened when I was driving down the interstate at highway speeds. Luckily I was able to pull off on the shoulder far enough so that no one was hurt.
Motor generator engine fail. No parts available.
While coming to a stop at my driveway the truck stalled while on the auto start/stop system, the vehicle had to be put in park and restarted as normal. The next day the same issue occurred then the battery warning light came on along with a engine code. The etorque motor/generator failed and has been confirmed by the dealership it was purchased from. Had I not been on such a low volume road the stalling could cause risk to me getting hit or causing someone to hit me due to the failure to restart. Vehicle is at dealership with confirmed etorque motor/generator failure and a warranty claim has been filed/in process
After coming to a stop, my vehicle does not accelerate. It automatically engages the park brake and the battery light starts flashing. I have to restart my truck multiple times for it to restart. I have taken it to a dealership 2 and each time they are unable to diagnose it, and release it to me with no info.
While driving the truck dashboard threw every light on, headlights went out, the truck shifted to first gear and would not shift back to higher gear, power steering went out as well. Received several trigger messages on the dashboard and was thankfully able to pull over safely. Placed the truck into park and the. Wasn’t able to place back in gear. This is the second time it has happened to me and Ram can’t figure out the cause or just doesn’t care. When researching there have been numerous other reports of this happening and Ram continues to shrug their shoulders making it the consumers problem. Second time I’m without a car and this time the dealer is claiming it will take nearly a week to even look at it while Ram says until Diagnostics there is no rental car coverage for the consumer. Had to have my truck towed after stranding me and my two kids on side of the road. Tow truck driver said he towed another 2022 Laramie just like mine last week and and that was his fourth time having the issue. He seemed to think it’s a sensor above the back window. This needs to be properly researched before someone is seriously injured as it happens at no particular reason.
October 24 breaks dud y work and caused a crash. August 11th breaks didn’t engage and caused a crash
From the first oil change forward, I have reported an intermittent electronic problem with the display screen. The screen would fail to activate. None of the functions of the push buttons below the screen which control the widgets’ on the screen would function. The air control for heater and defroster being the main safety issue.
The first issue appeared when I came to a stop at a light. The auto start/stop feature malfunctioned and left my truck dead in the middle of a busy intersection and wouldn’t turn back on right away. Eventually it turned on and I was able to make it home safely. I thought this was a one time thing as the truck then appeared to be working fine after. But then it happened again after that where it wouldn’t restart after the auto start/stop function didn’t restart the engine. When I brought it in to the dealership they diagnosed the problem as a faulty etorque motor and replaced the unit in July, 2023, about a year and a half after I bought the truck brand new. Now 2 years later, the issue is happening again. This time the check engine light came on, then a few minutes later the battery low voltage light came on, all while I was driving at speed on the expressway. The truck never shut off and I was able to make it to my destination safely but I feared the same issue from 2 years ago was happening again. I immediately had the 12v battery replaced under the hood the same day and got an oil change to make sure it wasn’t either of those things triggering the check engine light. The check engine light remained on and so I was able to bring it to the dealership with the battery voltage gauge reading 11.2 at the lowest while on the way. They hooked up the code reader for the check engine light which showed error code: P0A78 - Drive Motor A Inverter Performance, leaving me unable to drive the truck home as it is unsafe to drive at this point for fear the truck would lose power while under way. As it stands, truck is at the dealership awaiting further diagnostics for the same issue that’s been happening since I bought the truck new in December, 2021.
Check Engine Light came on at start. Drove a few miles. Stopped at a stop sign. Upon accelerating into a right hand turn, truck stopped, emergency brake engaged, lights came on the panel stating park assist is not availaible, disengage e-brake to start engine. After disengaging the emergency brake the engine started. Later same day stopped at red light. Stalled out again when accelerating when light changed. Was able to restart after disenging the emergency brake. Minutes later attempting to park in a parking lot at low speed stalled out for again. Was able to restart after disengaging the emergency brake. This happened on a Saturday. When I started the truck Monday to take to the dealer for service the check engine light was no longer on. Dealer reports no codes found. This is the 4th time to the dealer in three months for random stalling issue.
Hi guys, I live in Central America, bought my truck new at the dealer in Guatemala that is Grupo Q, the dealer does not service recalls, nor does any warranty work. AS you can see with my vin recalls are still not done. I have gotten in touch with ram recently to check on this, also because the local dealer will not do any warranty work on my seat bottoms that have started to rip at 44,000km they started to rip at 5,000km. three months ago my ac compressor dyed. again no warranty, I got in touch with ram because my truck states 5 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Ram US told me to get in touch with RAM Mexico and they dont even pick the phone and when a miracle happens they pick up the phone just to hung it up. I got in touch again with RAM us they escalated my case to a senior tech two months ago and no one has gotten in touch with me. Its obvius RAM sells outside US and does nothing for their clients.
115V Cargo power outlet on error message blinking, blind spot alert unavailable service required message flashing, shuts down lights on dash, and radio. turns on heat, shuts off air conditioner and windows won't roll down.
Motor Generator Unit Failure
Vehicle flashed SOS call not available on the radio. Then noticed airbag light on. Immediately went to the dealership and was informed the sensor is out and therefore the airbags are not functional. The part was supposed to be ordered only to find out more than a week later that the part is unavailable. The vehicle is without airbags and without emergency call if the airbags were to deploy. Have escalated to Chrysler corporate for parts expedition however that has done nothing either. There is no estimated part replacement time. I found online where there is a superseding part however it only works supposedly on the 23 and 24 model years. They got the part in and said that it would work if they changed the airbag module. But I would have to pay for the module.
The engine stalls, shifts to park and applies the parking brake. Sometimes it is at a stop and others it is under 10mph. It has been happening over the las few months and our dealer can't seem to repair it.
My 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 back up cam is not working. Just a blue screen. As of last night, my bed tailgate will not open. It is an electric tailgate. Pushing on the lid while trying to open does nothing, as suggested by Reddit. There is no power to the electric latch.
Going thru neighborhood stop signs, stopped at the first one and when i tried to take off I noticed the gas pedal wasn't accelerating vehicle like normal/ felt like a transmission slipping issue, but it finally "hooked up" and surged forward 100 feet to next stop sign, and after i stopped I hit gas pedal again only to stall out and roll thru the intersection. Brakes were almost unresponsive, and rolled about 60 seconds until truck finally shifted into park on its own and applied emergency brake. After the truck got to a complete stop, it started back up and drove fine the final 2 minutes of the drive home. No warnings/ check engine lights/ malfunction messages were displayed, no obvious signs of issues. 1. The malfunctioning component would be the motor, as it stalled out for seemingly no reason. But issue could be incorrect supply (voltage/ fuel/ air/) so something like the (fuel pump/ alternator/ control modules) could be actual culprit why truck stalled out 2. The safety of me and my passengers was at risk because we stalled out in the middle of an intersection, had it been a stop sign on a road with flowing traffic moving above 25 mph, an accident would most certainly be a good possibility. 3. The problem hasn't been reproduced by dealer or mechanic. Research into this topic yields countless similar issues with similar year and models by Ram. 4. No, vehicle want inspected by anyone but myself. This occurred in a small neighborhood with little to no traffic and no accident resulted from the truck shutting off. 5. Only symptom was a few seconds earlier, where from a complete stop it felt like the gas pedal wasn't responding at all, low rpm and almost stalling, then all the sudden the transmission "slipped" into gear and surged forward. The next stop sign 100 feet ahead is where the truck stalled and wouldn't start for a minute as i rolled uncontrollably thru the intersection, and it finally hard shifted into park and applied e-brake
E torque system on this truck has had several problems Factory did replace it, but still has issues Before replacing the system, my truck shut down in the middle road several times very dangerous After replacing the system, I now get strange issues remote start stop won't work Had several situations with the truck, stopping and starting again
On two separate occasions the engine shut off at low speeds and the emergency brake engaged. On both occasions there was no warning of any kind. The car restarted and ran fine until shortly after the first two instances a "low voltage" light illuminated prompting me to research and learn that the shut off problem is well known. I took it to the dealer who confirmed the issue and assured me it was fixed with a software update. Two weeks after the "repair" I was driving at highway speeds and the "low voltage" light illuminated and the car shut off and the emergency brake engaged. After I managed to get off the road it would not restart. It was towed to the dealership who kept it for 2 1/2 months. This time they replaced the MGU. I picked it up and less than a week later the "check engine" light illuminated. I returned it to the dealership who confirmed it's the same issue. To date the manufacturer is unwilling to acknowledge the problem or help. I was informed today that it was "fixed" (this time "battery pack") but I'm afraid to drive it after my life was placed in danger after two "fixes". It has been in their possession for over 3 months and it would be illogical to believe they understand the root cause and that the issue is truly fixed. I will not drive it until I'm assured it is safe as I don't want to put myself or other lives in danger. They appear to be guessing at the cause and at best replacing parts with the same flawed parts into the same flawed design and are unwilling to accept responsibility. This vehicle is dangerous.
We purchased this truck in 2022 brand new from the dealership. It has had electrical issues intermittently that has caused it to cycle through 3 batteries already. The truck will fail to start. The worst, most unsafe incident, happened when the truck completely shut down on the freeway. Every indicator light came on the dash and one by one the features of the truck started shutting down. First power steering. Then stability control. Followed by every feature that needs electricity until the truck shut off on the freeway and was unresponsive. We are finding online that people are having this issue with the Ram 1500 specifically equipped with the e-torque option (which is what we have). We have taken the truck into the dealership 3 times, each time they have simply said it was a battery issue and were unable to diagnose a bigger problem. At one point they had the vehicle for more than 30 days. This is my wife's vehicle. We have 3 kids. The safety of my family is at risk every time the vehicle doesn't start when we need it to and certainly when the truck shuts down in the middle of the freeway. It's dangerous. And we know it is not a "battery issue"
Wipers come on for now reason, no rain and not activated by driver. Interior screen goes black sometimes when backing up. After stopping for a traffic light then taking off, the transmission shifts to neutral. The only way to reengage the transmission is to come to a complete stop, put it in park and then back into drive. I have been to the dealer many times and they say unless it happens while in their care, there is nothing they can do. No codes come up. I gave them the day and time it last happened, thinking it must be stored in the computer and they would be able to track it down. Nope. This is a very dangerous problem. The truck also ran out of fuel when the gauge read 19 miles to go. I took it to the dealer and told them it must be a sensor, sender or gauge....says this is normal. Well that is not normal, if you ask me.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and the parking brake independently activated. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving at a slow speed. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle rolled forward several feet with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was started, and the vehicle was driven to the intended destination. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice; however, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that the failure had occurred five times. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Gauge cluster doesn't shut off, which kills the electrical system. This is likely due to a known issue from FCA as noted in Customer Satisfaction Notification 48A. FCA claims my truck is not affected even though it has the same Electronic Shifter Module, as well as is the same Model, Trim, Year... Just not the right VIN. The fix is a software update. They know the software in my truck is faulty, but won't update it in compliance with 48A. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Truck leaves me stranded if left not running for too long. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, I can reproduce it myself reliably... I have an appointment with the Ram dealer on 3/14/25. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No. I purchased the Truck [XXX]... the issues started within a few weeks. It has killed the battery 3 times now. Here is the existing notice 48A... My truck SHOULD BE ON THIS LIST! PLEASE HELP! Vehicle stalled while driving. Causing sudden loss of engine power and related functions such as power steering. Cause was do to water intrusion from rear window leaking on to a control module RF Module. The leak is common in thousands of ram trucks over several years. They’ve attempted to address it for some years but not all. Having such an important piece of equipment under a window which they know is prone to leaking is irresponsible and negligent. Had I been at higher speed this could have been deadly.
Engine shut off unexpectedly while moving at a slow speed, while making a turn. The vehicle shifted into park and applied the emergency brake automatically.
When driving home on a rainy day on an active interstate road, 66 west bound lane my truck turned off engine. I was in right hand lane so I was able to coast to side of road. Once stopped the truck automatically on its own went into park. I could start truck but when I put it in gear to drive would automatically go back into park giving warning message shifter autocorrect active. Truck was towed to closest Ram dealership. It was determined third brake light seal was leaking and water ran down to the RF hub module and fried it. From reviews online I saw this was a common issue but it don’t see where this is a recall to be addressed. Differently a safety issue when driving and truck turns off. Luckily I was in right lane to get off this active road. I have repair cost receipt if needed. I called my insurance company for the tow. Geico.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the air bag sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the air bag sensor needed to be replaced but was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, while operating the vehicle, the SOS message continued to be activated on the radio. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the radio, but the SOS failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 50,000.

Vehicle cut off in middle of intersection, locked emergency brake a d turned on battery light. Took several min to get vehicle operational. This put my family and I in grave danger. This issue has bee. Reported by priovious owner also. Very scary
Due to a leak on the back sliding window water entered the vehicle and caused the “RFO” box to break. Dealership told me that is the box that connects the fob keyes to the truck causing the truck to not recognize any keys.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

**DANGEROUS STALL OUT ISSUE** RAM 1500. Typically 2-4 minutes into driving on random mornings after warming truck up for 5-10 minutes, I go to give it gas and the engine stalls out in the middle of an intersection, sometimes with oncoming traffic. No check engine light at all. Autobrake engages. Put it in park and restart. No issues the rest of the day…until the next morning. Has happened multiple times. Took it to ram/mopar service. They couldn’t find any issues. Replaced the eTorque alternator. Still having the same issue.
1/21/24 was at a stop light. vehicle was idling. tried to accelerate. vehicle cut off, ebrake was applied electronically, check engine light came on and remains on.
The truck repeatedly while turning a corner. Will stall and engage the barking brake. The engine will not always start up immediately following the stall. If the engine does start, you can disengage the parking brake and continue on. However, the battery light will come on as well as an engine light. If you do not pull over and completely shut the vehicle down. While, the battery light is on. Then eventually, what will happen Is it will drain the battery And the truck will just stall and not run at all. The vehicle has been in to the dealership. Multiple times they are unable to recreate the issue. I have brought the vehicle in muliple times. With out and With all of the lights on and we have proven that once you shut down the truck down and restart it, all codes will delete themselves from the memory. The scariest episode, where the truck stalled, was where I was turning left off a major highway and the vehicle stalled across 2 lanes of traffic and would not start. I know that this is an ongoing issue west. D type of engine that I have, and it happens to these truck years 2019-2022. If you call FCA Canada, they will say they're not aware. However, I've been dealing with this problem since I purchased the truck. The first stall happened two weeks after I bought it. There is also a section on the Dodge forum. For this exact issue and multiple complaints in the better business bureau for this issue.
ON 12/31/2024 I was turning right onto a street and my vehicle shut off. There was no power steering or power brakes. The battery light came on and some warning about battery saver emitted. The vehicle would not restart so I had it towed to Larson Dodge in Puyallup, WA. I have a gas, 5.7 L E-torgue engine. Also, the left turn blinker does not always cancel itself and the vehicle was in the shop previously for this, but they could not replicate the issue. Both issues are a safety issue. The dealership stated they were unable to resolve the matter so they contacted their engineers. Its alleged that they are sending some type of module which will not be here until 1/28/25.
When accelerating from being stopped at a stop light the vehicle spontaneously shut off and the emergency brake engaged. I was able to restart the vehicle and disengage the brake and drive. Check engine light came on, the start / stop function is disabled and the remote start is disabled. Vehicle is giving engine code P1C64 with the check engine light one.
Jun 13, 2024 2022 Rebel GT FIRST INCIDENT: while making a right hand turn from a stop light, the truck lost acceleration, rolled for a few feet and locked up into ebrake engagement and: >low voltage warning>red battery symbol>clicking lights>complete shut off!! Gave me the follwing messages in the display "key not in vehicle, place in park to start, low volatge." When i finally got it restarted it didnt give me full acceleration power. it limped down the road until i could safely pull off the road. Continued to show low voltage. I limped it home and conitued to have low volatge issues. i took it to the dealer next day and they was unable to recreate or resolve the issue. They reset the battery but It happened again... Well today while at 75MPH on the freeway, attempting to pass a semi my 2022 Rebel GT 24k miles lost acceleration and shut off, same as the times before. >low voltage warning>red battery symbol>clicking lights>complete shut off!! I was ready for the whole truck to lock up right there on the freeway becuase it usually engages the ebrake! After a few seconds it re started itself!! while at 75mph!!! then the transmission slips like its going to lock up-im assuming because of the e-brake engagement it usually does and the fact that i was going 75mph?!! It then engaged to "normal operation" with a 13.1 voltage, so I sped back up and I got my as* to the dealership that was fortunately only 2 miles down the road trying not to panic. My service lady came out and hooked it up for codes, what did she find?.... "nothing but B233C00 which is a random code" she said. Which means (as we all should be l familiar with by now) that they cannot do anything without data. I noticed that there has been an investigation opened and I wanted to add to the complaints
The vehicle stalls while driving. I’ve had 6 occurrences all intermittent. The truck is in motion and at any speed. It happened in a roundabout, uphill at 45 mph, while doing a Detroit left, while coasting when approaching a stop light at 30 mph, while turning left into my neighborhood and on the highway with the cruise control on. When it happens I lose steering and power brakes. It terrifying. I’ve been to the dealer and they couldn’t replicate the issue. They are going to put a monitor on. I have read that it may be connected to a faulty electric motor in the drive system. It can happen at any speed in any conditions.
I was driving my Ram up to a red light and was slowing down to come to a stop. Upon my attempt to slow down to the approaching redlight the vehicle abruptly jerked and stopped, the vehicle pretty much felt like it jumped into park on its own. The battery light came on, the brake light came on and the auto start symbol came on with this symbol (A!) The engine felt like it was going to stall, however, it didnt. Then engine was sort of racing and slowing down a few times. The truck would not move and did not stall. With my foot on the brake I could not shift the vehicle into any gear. I hit the stop start button with my foot on the brake and the vehicle would not shut off, it kind of raced the engine a little bit. I attempted hitting the start stop button a sechond time with my foot on the brake, all dashboard lights went off and the truck went into normal driving mode. I was able to continue home that evening and the lights have not been on since. I contacted my dealer and made an appointment for them to check on the vehicle, apt is on Jan 3rd. It was a little bit alarming when this happened and if someone was behind me it may have caused them to run into the back of my vehicle. This took place on December 22nd. I continued to research this problem online and found an article associated to this problem and several reports to NHTSA about this issue. The article indicated I should report this issue, which I am doing. I also immediatley received a notification on my RAM app which I will supply. Thank you
Vehicle stopped at stop light when start/stop system activated. When acceleration attempted, turning right, vehicle stalled, activated the parking brake and displayed a battery warning. Restarted vehicle and showed a low voltage condition for the battery. Pulled over and turned off the truck and restarted which cleared the issue and voltage returned to normal. This is the third stall over 66k miles, the first with a new battery, which doesn’t seem to be the problem.
When applying the gas petal the engine will stall. The vehicle completely died while driving.
From day one when entering a roadway it would start to move putting me into traffic then just refuse to go leaving stranded for about ten seconds then move again, the whole time it would shudder and shake by engine and the transmission and it was like the system were all fighting for control. Next when entering a freeway I pulled on to the on ramp and immediately got up to 50mph and started to merge and it bogged down like it lost fuel and again I was almost hit by traffic but they avoided me. There are numerous problems with the infotainment system to the point of distraction, most of these problems are transient but on going, they fixed some of them with software updates but then a new crop will pop up. I have not been able to trust the truck since I’ve owned it so I have had to cancel all the plans I made when I bought it. I think two years is long enough to wait to use what I paid for.
I keep getting a check engine light because of voltage issues related to the etorque system. Also receive a battery icon and volt gauge shows 11v. The code says everything from overcharge to under charge and all kinds of electrical codes. I have been to dealer multiple times. At first they did nothing but last visit they did a control module software update. Code did not appear for a few weeks and last weekend it came back.
I have had multiple incidents of my 2022 Ram 1500 ETorque, when coming to a stop the auto start stop system engages and when I let my foot off the brake to take off the truck will not start the engine back. It will engage the parking brake and shift into park, sometimes will start back with the start button depressed. I have had at least 4 different incidents where it leaves me sitting in heavy traffic in a dangerous spot. The CEL has come on twice, other times the "Service Start/Stop System" and "Service Charging System" have come on. I have had it to my dealer in Fayetteville, Arkansas 4 times. They have reprogrammed the ECM, the Hybrid Module, and the Motor Generator Unit, with no improvement in issue.
Hello. While driving on the highway at 65MPH and decelerating down to 35MPH ,about to take a single-lane, curved, and elevated exit, the vehicle dashboard emitted a ping and engine turned off. The dashboard showed a message indicating to press the brake and push the ON/OFF button to start the vehicle (as it normally does when it is off). The ON/OFF button showed the RUN signal as if the engine was still on. 2 seconds later the ENGINE light turned on. It was followed by several messages in the dashboard including ESC system offline. Then the battery signal, as well as many others, turned on. After coming to a complete stop the vehicle engage the park brake on its own. When pressing the brake and pushing the start button the first time, the ignition engaged and stayed engaged for ~5-7 seconds without actually starting the engine. On the second try, after the ignition disengaged and the start button actually showed the OFF position, the vehicle started as normal. The engine light stayed on but no other noticeable effects were perceived. After turning the vehicle off and restarting it two times the engine light stayed off. The incident was not reproduced over the 24-hour period after its onset. As mentioned before, this happened on the highway and the vehicle was coasted on a single lane feeder until a relatively safe spot was located to stop. However, the safety of the pilot and others was at stake as the pass was very narrow. Fortunately, the driver did not had the need to step out of the vehicle and, after restarting it, managed to drive it to safety. This happened 24 hours ago. No vehicle inspection has been performed yet.
On three separate occasions (so far), our 2022 RAM 1500, with 23,768 miles on it, has stalled, and completely shut down all driving function while in forward motion. 1. While pulling out from the grocery store parking lot onto a main town road while trying to accelerate from 5-25mph. (May 2024) 2. After restarting the truck, and driving forward a couple feet, it happened again. (May 2024) 3. While driving 60mph down the parkway, and decelerating/downshifting to prepare to take the exit. (October 2024) All three times, there were absolutely no warning signs or lights that came on before, during, or after this happened. The engine remained running, but felt as though it was in neutral. The truck would not shift back into drive, regardless of us changing the gear shift, and had to be completely powered down, and powered back on.....in the middle of the road. In both May and October, the truck had been brought to the dealer, and they were not able to recreate the issue, nor were any codes or problems detected. Thus, we have had to leave the dealer, each time, in an unpredictable and unsafe vehicle. We are lucky that the incidents of this happening in April were at an intersection with stoplights, preventing traffic perpendicular to us, from T-boning us as we were stuck in the middle of the road. We were also lucky that the incident in October happened while there was nobody traveling close behind us. Any of these incidents could have caused a major accident. Not only would this involve us, but anyone else around us. This truck, I repeat, is UNPREDICTABLE and UNSAFE, and RAM can't seem to figure out what to do about it since there are no codes, or ability to recreate it. Each time we get in the truck, we gamble our safety and our lives because nothing has been done to resolve this issue.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that there was condensation accumulating in the rear taillights. The contact stated that the vehicle recently experienced electrical failures with the power window switch not raising or lowering the windows as needed. The contact stated that the radio and several other electrical gauges were inoperable. The contact stated that the 115-Volt Cargo outlet warning light was blinking. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that water had accumulated through the taillight assemblies and caused a short circuit of the rear right BUS system. The contact stated that the dealer dried out the taillights and all the wiring harnesses were reinstalled with the rear taillight assemblies. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that there was condensation accumulating again in the taillights. The contact stated that the Blind Spot warning light had flashed and then turned off. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

My truck has been stalling at low speed, automatically shifting into park, and the emergency brake is automatically engaged. This occurs at random times, but typically as I approach or depart a stop sign or community gate. It has happened with other vehicles in the vicinity. The dealership has changed out the MGU, but it happened again the next week, 3 times. The dealership states that they are not receiving assistance from Chrysler.
Both rear tail light assemblies shorted at the same time. This was confirmed by local Dodge dealer mechanic
When placing truck in reverse, the backup camera displays a blue screen.
Shortly after beginning to drive, I approached a stop sign and the parking brake automatically engaged, and I could not drive. I had to shut the truck off, manually disengage the parking brake and then I was able to drive again. This has happened 4 or 5 times over the past couple of months. It's very dangerous and the dealers are telling me they can't do anything about it because they can't replicate the problem. This is extremely dangerous and is going to cause an accident.
The truck has been having difficulty shifting the transmission at times, major delay in throttle when applying the gas pedal at a stop sign or at a stop light. This can be a major accident waiting to happen because that delay may and can cause an accident, injury, and/or death.
RE: Open NHTSA investigation to Ram & Jeep… Today, [XXX] at about 10am: While driving at low speed: My 2022 RAM 1500 shut off, put itself in park and activated emergency brake — this is the 2nd time in less than one month this has happened. I took truck to dealer (Central Florida Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram) for service on 7/8/24 to address the first time this happened on [XXX]. There is an open nhtsa investigation into Ram/Jeep for 2022 vehicles shutting off… i need direction yo help address this issue. At low speed, engine stalled and along with strange braking issues occurred causing me to move off road to avoid traffic. Check engine light, and battery light illuminated. After multiple attempts engine restarted and I was able to drive vehicle normally. I didn't think much of it until same problem reoccurred with engine surging and braking. Similar to the transmission slipping and jolting when throttle applied.
Happens once in every 5 times. If I'm sitting still about to gas it to pull out into traffic the gas pedal does not react causing a massive delay that has almost got me in a few accidents. I've also been at an intersection, stop signs, traffic lights and parking decks moving slowly and the trucks Emergency Brake will automatically be applied.
The vehicle has stalled multiple times while slowing down into a light and does not restart. The vehicle is equipped with the e - torque system that is supposed to restart the vehicle after coming to a full stop in the engine shutting down to conserve fuel. The vehicle will sometimes shut down at a slow speed and will apply the parking brake automatically. The vehicle then has to be restarted the emergency brake has to be disengaged and the vehicle has to be shifted back into drive to be able to move. The vehicle will have multiple warning lights come up on occasion, including low voltage, service etorque system, low power mode. The vehicle has been taken to two different dealerships at least three different occasions. Sometimes they find diagnostic trouble codes that refer to loss or low engine power. But they have not been able to replicate the problem when dropped off. The problem has occurred during the winter months but also the summer months, so it seems that temperature is not the sole cause. But it seemed to happen more during winter time. The concern for safety is that the vehicle will shut down at a low speed of less than 3 mph. When letting go of the break and expecting the engine to restart the vehicle May slowly roll forward into an intersection if it's in a downhill before the parking brake is able to engage itself. Another concern is for the person behind might assume that the vehicle will drive forward but due to the engine failing to restart and applying the e-brake, the person behind might not see the brake lights engage and could cause the vehicle to get rear-ended if the driver behind is not able to determine the vehicle in front of them has stalled. The problems will appear with no warning whatsoever. And they seem to mostly happen during the initial few miles of the day. As the majority of the instances have been during the morning on my way to work.
Vehicle stalled after accelerating from a stop sign during slow speed driving in my neighborhood. Truck engaged auto parking brake in middle of intersection, "battery" light illuminated on dash, and Battery voltage suddenly read approx 11.5v. Had to restart in intersection and disengage parking brake to proceed. This occurred at 18002 miles on May 11. (photo attached) No previous warning lights or issues. Dealer was only a mile away so drove there without stopping while battery voltage continued to read 11.x volts. The dealership service dept was closed, so drove 2 miles home while battery warning continued. After stopping and re-starting truck in my driveway, voltage showed normal 13-14v and continued to run normally afterwards. Truck occasionally exhibits engine stumble especially when coasting to stop signs in my 15 mph neighborhood during first drive of the day. I have not experienced a complete stall since this one incident. Vehicle has not been back to the dealer since this occurred but is available on request. While unusual, I didn't have time to deal with the problem since the dealer was closed. I saw a notice of nhtsa investigation online which made me think to report this now, 2 months later.
I was slowing down for traffic at a stop light and when I was almost stopped traffic began moving again so I took my foot off the brake and pushed the gas pedal. The truck stalled, it shifted to park, the emergency brake came on and a red warning lamp for the battery came on. Traffic behind me had to stop abruptly to avoid hitting my vehicle. I immediately put my 4-way flashers on while trying to get the truck to restart. This was at 3:30 pm in very busy traffic on a 6 lane road on Feb 22 2024. I couldn’t get the truck to restart or move or do anything for over a minute. After a minute the truck allowed me to restart and drive home. The battery lamp stayed on the whole way home and the back-up camera stopped working when I parked. It has never had issues other than this one time. There were no warning lights on and no symptoms before this happened. It has not happened since, but I worry it could happen again with no warning.
I am not sure what system failed, but I suspect it could be an electrical or engine problem. The car has lost towing features, has shut off or almost shut off while driving on highways or while making left and right turns during exits from highways. The vehicle has also lost power steering. This happen while the vehicle was towing a travel trailer on the highway. There will be occasions when the front collision warning system goes off in spite of no collision being imminent. There have been occasions where the infotainment unit fails to turn on and also the rear-view camera feature does not come on. The vehicle continues to have these issues off and on. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and those that were onboard the vehicle were put at high risk because the vehicle could have been rear-ended had vehicles behind me been following more closely while the vehicle lost power and stalled/almost stalled. On the highway, my safety and those of others were at even higher risk due to increased speeds. During towing our safety has been tremendously put at risk. Some of the problems have been "fixed" by the local dealership (i.e. loose cables, replacement of infotainment unit). In other instances (stalling issue, collision warning system) the dealer claims to be unable to reproduce the problem. The vehicle and or components have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, etc. One occasion there was a "check engine" warning, but it was very brief. Other than that there have bee no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problems prior to the failure. These issues first appeared in August 2022, four months after purchased brand new from the dealer. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer for inspection of these issues ever since, on at least five occasions. The latest stalling issue was in March 2024, though I did not take it to the dealer since on prior instances they have insisted there is nothing wrong with the vehicle.
Truck stalls out when driving and stoping. Causing parking brake to engage and lose of all functions. It has been at dealer 4 times they say it’s to intermittent. They can’t get it to do it. Also they see a fault but can’t trace it. This has been going on since 2023 a few months after I leased it. I have all records of events. No warning is given before this happens. It just dies. Yes truck is available for inspection. Dealer has all info on status. Parkway dodge jeep and ram.
Connection under drivers seat was intermittently shorting on seat frame causing loss off BUS communication. This resulting in loss of power steering, power brakes, loss of speed and rpm indicators, erratic wiper blades, multiple warning lights on dash and radio while driving at 55mph as well at low speeds. The connector has been repaired by dealership.
When using RAM's UConnect system with Apple CarPlay, the system often disconnects and disables Maps, Podcasts, etc. This requires that one manually disconnect the system, restart it and connect to the phone again. For example, when driving in downtown Dallas, Apple Maps was disconnected and there was no place to pull over to reconnect to the UConnect system. This problem is frequent. On a recent 100 mile trip, the system disconnected over 15 times. I have taken the truck back to the dealer. The service manager said that his truck did the same thing. He said that it was a software issue and that RAM (Stellantis) was working on it. Upon calling the UConnect Customer Service line, I got the same answer. There have been a few updates since I purchased this vehicle, but none have solved the problem. This situation is dangerous and causes distraction - whether you are able to pull over or not. I have been driving this truck for 2 years and the problem has been constant the entire time.
Due a faulty battery recharge module…My vehicle lost power steering without warning
The infotainment center will go blank and do a reset while driving, it does not store radio presets for long. Most concerning, I’ve been backing out of my garage when the garage lighting has been turned off and when the vehicles sensors detect a darker surrounding and adjust the dash and infotainment center light level, the infotainment center goes dark for a while and does it’s reset thing thus not having a backup camera until it has had time to reset.
I have made a prior complaint about the same issue when I had the truck for only a day and 111 miles on it that the entire truck lost power as I was making a left hand turn. It has again happened that the entire truck lost power as I was driving. I now have 15,039 miles on it. I was driving stop and go leading up to a stop sign when the truck stalled and lost power and turned on the emergency brake. I was able to finally get it back running. It has been an issue for a while where you can almost feel like the truck is about to stall but it eventually kicks back in. This time however it did not.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated upon purchasing the vehicle brand new and attempting to use the key fob to operate the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond. The dealer replaced the antenna; however, the failure persisted. The dealer diagnosed that the RF hub was corroded due to water leaking through the third brake light. The dealer determined that the rear windshield, the third brake light, and the RF hub module needed to be replaced. The contact was charged a repair cost. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 5,050.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact stopped the vehicle and the power steering failed to operate as needed. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred; however, the vehicle was not taken back to a dealer. The contact stated that water had puddled on the floorboards in the rear seat where the battery pack was located. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with the E-Torque system. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

This vehicle has stalled three times in separate occurrences in the last 12 months after stopping at an intersection for a stop sign. When attempting to continue on, the vehicle stalls and engages the emergency brake. All three occurrences have left me broadside in an intersection until I can get the vehicle started and disengage the E brake. This is a huge safety concern. The last occurrence was on 3/8/24, this one had the same symptoms as the first two except there was also a battery light warning that I was able to correct by shutting the truck off and restarting. I made a service appointment where I purchased the vehicle ( Walser Dodge, Hopkins Mn.). No codes were produced to indicate what might be causing this issue. They tried to replicate the issue by driving the truck 113 miles with no success. There was no resolution to the problem from this service visit. I did do some research online and discovered that many other people are experiencing this same issue with vehicles equipped with the 5.7 L hemi with torque. These reports cover model years going back to 2019. I also discovered that a recall for this issue was implemented for 2021 Ram trucks that were experiencing this problem. The research that I did was through Dodge forums, videos, legal websites and some were sited from NHTSA. The dealership said that they have never heard of this before.

Vehicle steering began to shake violently intermittently, I pulled off the highway and began to inspect front wheels. I saw fire on left side of engine through the wheel well. I extinguished fire with hand extinguisher. Fire department inspected and saw no danger to move vehicle. Vehicle was towed. Inspection by dealer was inconclusive. (!) I would not trust it to drive. I brought vehicle into company shop and inspected myself and found starter wire routed between brackets on engine/cross member. The cable was burned/ shorted and the cause of fire and electric steering malfunction. Any further use would certainly cause another incident. Vehicle was returned to dealer for replacement of harness. Dealer stated no recalls or known issues related to this. Inspected another vehicle of same type and wire is similar routing. Vehicle showed no symptoms prior to and no codes set after incident. One photo from below, driver side engine/transmission mounting, burned cable dead center.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle independently shifted to park and would not turn off. The contact stated that after several attempts to turn the vehicle off, the vehicle turned off and the contact restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to function as intended. The contact stated that there was a 10-15-second delay. The failure occurred several times. However, the vehicle was taken to the dealer seven times, but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure began after Manufacturer Recall: 901081, was completed two years ago. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 MPH, while making a right turn and coming to a stop, several unknown warning lights flashed on the instrument panel and displayed before the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was immediately restarted but the "battery" warning light remained illuminated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 21,000.

The truck shut off on me at high speed on the highway. Another time which I caught on video, I was making a right hand turn and the truck shut off.

While driving on the freeway at speeds of approximately 65-70 mph, the vehicle unexpectedly locked the steering wheel, depriving the driver of the ability to maneuver or control the vehicle safely. It required significant effort for the driver to manually turn the wheel enough to guide the truck to the side of the freeway. This was an extremely dangerous situation, as we no longer had full control of the truck while at highway speeds. Had this occurred during a turn, the truck would have continued in a straight line, crossing into oncoming traffic. Concurrently, all lights on the dashboard began flashing while random error messages sequenced through the display, all without an apparent cause. After maneuvering the truck to the side of the road, we turned off the engine. However, all the lights on the dashboard continued flashing. I called to arrange for a tow truck just as a police officer arrived who provided us with assistance. We were able to restart the truck only after the battery was fully discharged, and we jump-started the truck with the officer's vehicle. Once operational again, the dashboard and screen displayed normally. After taking my truck to the local dealership for analysis, I was told that no cause for this potentially deadly malfunction could be found. I feel that the company has no interest in resolving the issue. In addition to this experience on the freeway, another issue which may be related is associated with the auto start-stop feature of the vehicle. Over the past year, the reliability of this function has deteriorated. Frequently, when the vehicle comes to a stop at a traffic light, it autonomously engages the park, activates the emergency brake, and proceeds to switch off the engine. To resume normal operation, the driver must manually disengage the emergency brake, restart the engine, and shift back into drive. The dashboard displays the message "Stop/Start Restart Required." I have videos of the dash after we pulled over if needed.
While coming to a stop less than a half mile from my house the engine died. I had remote started the engine before leaving for work, so the engine had run for a few minutes before leaving my house. I was able to start the truck and continue driving. A few miles later I got a battery warning so at my next stop, I shut the truck off and opened and closed the driver's door. The truck restarted and everything was running normal.
Vehicle shut down while driving slowly after a stop sign. Occurred on first trip of the morning, cooler weather, at a slow speed within neighborhood. After stopping at a stop sign, and pressing the gas pedal, the vehicle shut down. I had to steer it (power steering off at this point) to the right and barely was out of the intersection. It went into park, emergency brake engaged itself. It took several minutes to get the vehicle operational again after following the on-dash instructions to disengage the emergency brake and start the vehicle. It started after 1 failed start attempt. The 2nd attempt is what allowed me to get the vehicle operational again. Whole situation might had been around 2 minutes. 2022 RAM Limited e-torque, 22,596 miles
While pulling out of a stop light, my 2022 Ram 1500 stalled, and the parking brake engaged while I was in the middle of the intersection. After getting the truck restarted and safely getting through the intersection, the battery indicator warning light came on and the voltage gage dropped dramatically. When I took the truck to the dealer I was told they could not replicate therefore it was in safe operating condition. My truck is one year old with only 7400 miles. Also the dealer disputes the active recall on my truck.
I am having issues with the Uconnnect radio screen freezing and a loud buzzing coming from the speakers for 10-15 seconds until the radio reboots itself. This issue has occurred on vehicle start, putting vehicle into drive/reverse and while driving down the road. If in reverse the backup camera will also freeze. Both the rear camera freezing and loud buzzing can cause driver distraction. While backing up having the camera freeze is a big safety issue as children could be right behind you outside of rear view mirror view and when the freeze of the camera happens while backing up could cause driver to hit person/objects. Vehicle goes to shop soon to be diagnosed. No error messages are displayed while or after the screen freezes/reboots. I have video of this issue.
The back up camera is not working, there is only a blue screen when I put my truck in reverse. The error message says camera system unavailable. Took it to the dealership to get it fixed and they had it for a week and did not give me a loaner I had to pay for a rental car out of pocket I am severely irritated with my local Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram service center they are not catering to me as a customer and it's really ridiculous because we're talking about a safety issue if I can't use my backup camera to hook up my trailer for work.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was steered into a parking lot, turned off, and restarted after several minutes. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

I was driving down the road and my truck shutoff and coasted just enough for me to get out of the on coming traffic and then the emergency brake automatically turned on causing my truck to stop in the middle of the road and auto shift put it into park. Fortunately, I was able to get it started again and move out of the road. I very easy could have been killed.
At a complete stop, truck shuts off and emergency brake gets engaged for no reason. This has happened approx. 8 times since I bought the truck brand new from dealer. Truck has 12, 800 miles to date. No major safety risk but stuck in traffic while trying to get truck moving. The problem has not been reproduced by dealer but doing research online, other people are complaining on the same issue. The Ram dealer (Nemer) in Wilton, NY has inspected under warranty. No warnings or messages appear when truck shuts off.
has been hesitating since day one entertainment and GPS freezing and still is it has been to the dealer for both and has been updated many times the last update was for drive ability concerns and it was the worse it has been since the update was done the morning after it was done it would not start i had to try 3 or 4 time and it started and ran ruff and the trans was not shifting correctly the update for the GPS and the entertainment system was done over the air and still does not work it still freezes and i have to stop driving to reset it as far as the hesitation i can make turns safely if you think you have enough time to turn safely you don't and could get hit broadside the last pcm update made everything worse be careful ram owners i have to be every time i drive it
This truck has an intermittent problem that causes it to shut down and leaving me stranded in traffic. This shutdown has happened 8 times. It first happened on Jan-10. This is two weeks after I purchased the truck. Since then, there have been 4 attempts to fix it at dealerships. They were not been able to identifying the causes of these problems or fixing them. The Truck was out of service for 47 days while it was in for repairs. Both of these items exceed the limits of the Missouri Lemon Law. I will briefly review the nature of the problems. These 8 shut down events are not just a stalling problem. When the truck shuts down the yellow engine lights come on and the truck will not try to restart when I press the gas or restart button. In some cases, it automatically engaged the parking brake and I am not able to get the truck switch into park, neutral or reverse. Each time it took between 2 and 20 minutes to restart the truck, while I was stuck in traffic. 3 times I exited the vehicle, walked away, then locked and unlocked it. After that I was able to restart the truck. In 3 of the occurrences the red battery warning light came on. When this happens, I have about 30 min both batteries are drained and everything shuts down. Here is a summary of some of the history of these problems, Summary 1st Occurrence --- 1/10/23 (14 days after I purchased the truck). Occurrences --- 8 (7th was during a test drive at a RAM service center, on 4/25/2023). Times in shop --- 4 (at dealer service centers). Days in shop--- 47 (Out of service). Milage 1st time --- 410 (Odometer at first occurrence) Avr miles to occur --- 454Avr miles (shortest was 30, and two were over 1,000 miles) Avr time to occur --- 17Avr. Days Problem status --- not fixed. (the cause or causes have not been identified or fixed)
Two issues, both 12" radio/infotainment issues. 1) Radio will often, and without warning get, for lack of a better term, corrupted, the entire system freezes, no screen control and makes a loud static esc noise.. The only way to fix the issue is to power cycle the radio either by holding the power button and scan button down for 15 or so seconds, or turning off the truck and cycling the power to the radio by opening then closing and opening the door again.. Neither are easy to do when traveling at highways speeds. 2) Infotainment screen will turn off, loosing all controls to cabin features and controls. Radio still works, but no screen is available for controls. ( the screen on/off button DOES NOT turn or reset the screen when this happens) The only way to get the screen back on is to power cycle the truck--- turning off the truck, opening, closing and opening the door again. again, not an easy feat when at highway speeds.
While driving down the road the battery falls rapidly from 14 to 11.8 or less causing the battery light and engine light to come on, and the unit to start losing power and die. The truck has been in the shop several times with still no repairs completed. They have given me back the unit telling me there’s nothing they can do and not sure what is causing it. The ecm data has pulled several codes, but yet the dealer still won’t repair based on those codes. I have been told sorry, there’s nothing further we can do. Mean while the truck continues to die while driving down the road which has put me and my family’s life in danger when the unit just rapidly dies and there’s no time to exit a freeway causing you to shut down the unit in the middle of the road. Hoping you can get it restarted and on your way before someone hit you. This vehicle is unsafe to drive, and has been an on going problem for 10 months now. It’s been in two separate shops and still no repairs and ram care has refused to send a tech out to assist. The unit was taken into the shop for a 3rd time with engine, battery light on while dying and I was told sorry, they don’t have time to look into it. Not it’s back in for the 4th time, and still no repairs have been made. I was told the codes that it’s pulling out the ECM data cost over $15,000 in repairs and they are not going to go that way unless they know exactly which part will fix it issue to take the truck back and they’re sorry. sorry it does not save me and my family‘s life when the unit dies in the middle of a road and someone slams into you on a freeway again. This is putting my families life at risk, which eventually will cause a fatality. Ram still has done nothing. No assistance. I am not out 80k for a unit that is not safe to drive and un tradable!
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 MPH, the auto park features independently engaged. The contact stated that the feature would shift the vehicle to park (P), turn the vehicle off, and set the parking brake. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle could be restarted; however, the failure occurred at a traffic signal. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent, but it was a recurring failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,525.

Vehicle stalled died while turning left and automatically set parking brake very dangerous while on busy road
Brought vehicle into chevy dealership for interior detail because it wasn't available at nearest dodge and went to go pick it up and the truck would not turn on. Car towed to Dodge dealership and they stated that there Module H was an issue and they replaced that and still isn't working and they don't know what is wrong. Dodge dealership stated that they don't see any negligence on the vehicle done by chevy dealership. Dodge is going back and forth with support team trying to figure out what is going on. Going on the 4th week of vehicle being in the shop with zero answers. Dodge didn't have a rental vehicle available to me and told me id get reimbursed if I went to get a vehicle and now they are stating they aren't wanting to pay. My vehicle is under full warranty. I have contacted the MN state general attorney and filed a claim.
The engine dies while slowing down or immediately following a stop and start, dies in the middle of an intersection or just going down the road. It has died at a railroad crossing. This could be a deadly situation if it happened in heavy traffic since the driver can't get out of the way. It sets the emergency brake. It has to be at a complete stop before we can press the brake, manually unlock the park brake, then start the truck It's been back to the dealership numerous times. They tell me they don't doubt my word, but they can't come up with a solution. They told us it needed an electronic update. They came to pick up the truck this morning4/17/23 to do a scan for more updates. This is very serious!
My 2022 Ram-1500 V6 Etorque truck has stalled 5 different times. Each time it happened after I had been driving 10 minutes or up to 1hr. Each time I was stopped at an intersection or in stop and go traffic. Twice I was able to restart it in less than 1 min. One time was a few minutes. The other two times it would not restart after several minutes. The Sales person suggested I get out of the truck then lock it and unlock it. After 5 to 15 minutes I was able to restart it. In both cases I had to exit the truck in traffic to lock and unlock it. In all 5 cases I was in traffic when this happened. This problem first occurred a few weeks (480 miles) after I bought the truck. The truck is now into a dealer service shop for a second time for this problem. So far they have not been able to diagnose the problem.
Sometimes when i go to come to a stop, my truck stalls, engages the parking brake and shift itself into park. this happens before the truck comes to a complete stop and has happened at least half a dozen times. The check engine light has stayed on after a re-start of the vehicle and when this happens the charging light comes on also. Safety was put at risk because this could very easily cause a collision at an intersection, thanfully it hasnt yet. The truck goes into the dealer on jan. 31st to look at the issue. No warning lamps or warnings are ever present prior to the system failure. The check engine light stayed on the last time this happened which was last night.
The wiring harness on the vehicle is fastened to the frame poorly. I had to reattach it with plastic wire/zip ties in 3 different locations. I brought the truck home from being serviced at a RAM dealership and it had a very strong smell of burning plastic when I brought it home. This was not the smell of residual oil but a very definite smell of burning plastic. I brought it to the a different RAM dealership the next day to have the oil change corrected in Buffalo, MN and they didn’t visually see anything from underneath the truck. Since this incident I noticed an oil leak on the front of the engine, another failed plastic wire tie in the engine bay and two others that look as if they will pull from their fastened location.
Driving vehicle at approximately 15 MPH when vehicle accelerated on its own and would not stop by depressing foot brake. Had to put vehicle into neutral and use emergency brake to stop. At the same time several dash warning lights illuminated. Such included but was not limited to, throttle control, trailer tow assist, check engine, brake assist control, etc. The vehicle was parked and unmoved until it was towed to dealership. Upon towing the check engine and throttle control lights remained illuminated. Per dealership, no light is illuminated and no issue with vehicle. Located a number of additional similar issues with Ram’s online with no recall.
While driving the vehicle at low speed two warning lights/messages appeared: “Service electronic stability control, and auto start/stop unavailable/service auto start/stop.” Auto start/stop no longer functions and neither does ESC, which is a safety hazard. Have appointment to have car serviced at dealer.
Sat. 7/16/22 ~ 3:05pm (7,427 mi) - While pulling out of my neighborhood onto the main road, the truck abruptly shut itself off, went into PARK & applied the e-Brake with my truck sticking into the roadway about a foot (& another vehicle behind me). Oncoming traffic in the lane was able to go around me still. Thankfully traffic was light and I wasn’t stuck further out in the road when it happened… or Mon-Fri when it’s busier. I noticed the “Battery” fault symbol on the dash but was able to restart the truck, release the e-brake, and get it in DRIVE again to get going again. During the rest of the 35 min drive to work, I had the digital gauges up on the radio and could see the battery voltage was at 11.9v - 12.0v for the entire drive to work. Sun. 7/17/22 ~ 12:15am to 12:45am - After sitting for 8hrs, I came out expecting to need a jumpstart to get home and found the truck started right up. I pulled up the digital gauges on the radio and the dash cluster and saw the battery voltage was at 13.9v -14.0v. That seemed weird, but perhaps the 48v Li eTorque Battery recharged the 12v system? During the 35min drive home from work, I noticed the battery voltage continued to drop to 13.3v, 13,2v, & 13.0v by the time I got home. Mon. 7/18/22 ~ 7:30am - Dropped the truck off to get it looked at/potential issue entered into the system. Dealer kept the truck for a few days, making several small trips with the truck and couldn't replicate the issue. Tue. 12/14/22 ~ 3:03 pm (15,222 miles) - while making a left turn from onto a side road the truck abruptly shut itself off, went into PARK & applied the e-Brake with my truck stuck in the oncoming Lane. Oncoming traffic luckily stopped for me to clear the road. Same scenario as before, with the “Battery” fault symbol on the dash but was able to start the truck, release the e-brake, and get it in DRIVE again to get going again. During the rest of the 30 min drive the digital gauges show the battery at 11.8v to 12.0v. 2hrs later fine.
Vehicle is equipped with “e-torque” auto stop/start feature. Was driving vehicle about 20-25 mph on road within grocery store parking lot area and approached stop sign. As I came to a stop the vehicle shut the engine off like normal and as I released the brake (which is when the vehicle automatically starts again) it started and I turned right to have the engine shut off again with no warning. Vehicle came to stop on road with traffic and automatically shifted vehicle into park and set e-brake. I didn’t know what happened at the moment and was confused why I lost power. I started the engine again and shifted into drive and deactivated the parking brake. Called dealer immediately after and made an appt for vehicle to be seen. No warning lights persisted after the incident took place. Seems like a very serious safety issue that should be investigated.
Truck was at a stop sign after being off all night. Truck started fine but when accelerating from a stop into 90 degree turn, engine stalled and battery voltage dropped prompting a shift to park warning and auto stop disabled (already disabled by button) truck refused to turn over the first attempt but started on second and displayed battery voltage at 11.9-12. This is the second time this happened and the first a new battery seem to fix but it has now returned again a month and half later. Both times this happened in traffic and the truck was in the middle of the intersection. 2022 Ram 1500 bighorn 5.7l with etorque. (First red photo was the first time, todays incident was second but it did flash battery warning later on).
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that on three separate occasions, an abnormal, popping sound was coming from the speakers. Additionally, the infotainment screen would go blank and the radio would inadvertently turn off. After the most recent failure, the instrument panel also went blank which included the speedometer and other safety features. The contact had notified the dealer about the failure on multiple occasions but had not yet received a response. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number; however, the contact had not yet heard back from the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 7,400.

While operating the vehicle the engine and vehicle itself shut down entirely and I was unable to operate the vehicle. Second before the shut down, I did notice a battery light come up and then the vehicle was inoperable. Vehicle wouldn’t start back up and had to be towed to the nearest manufacturer dealership. Wasn’t even able to put in neutral to push it to a more convenient spot as everything is locked up. Vehicle is still in service as mechanics are unaware of what the issue is. This is a major safety concern because it turned off while driving on the road with no warning signs. Had this happened while I was driving on a fast moving highway, this could have ended much worse.
This vehicle was purchased on 03/09/3022. After the purchased I start noticing the following. The light indicator on, vehicle stopped while driving, the motor idling, the radio data compromised, the horn blowing by itself, the tire indicator constantly comes on, and the mileage rotates while vehicle is sits. I’ve taken the truck to the dealership which malware was abstracted from the vehicle; which fixed everything but, it returned remotely. Additionally, while driving on the freeway, the vehicle stopped in the middle of the freeway!
Will it looks to be a problem with the 2022 ram e torque system and there are a lot of complaints same as mine stalling at the stop changing heating settings at a stop it stalls and just poor performance with hesitation if you are at a stop wanting to turn and waiting for oncoming traffic make sure you have enough time to proceed with the 3 second delay when pulling out the 3 seconds could mean your life its been to the dealer a few time and there is nothing wrong i disagree if you don't have the response from the time you press the peddle and the time you start to mo9ve is a 3 second delay something is wrong even when i disengage the e torque it still does the same thing Hay ram get a fix before someone gets killed
Trucks electrical or computers are malfunctioning and draining battery. Causing it to be too weak to start This has occurred twice In our garage. Requiring emergency roadside assistance to jump start. Taken to dealerships three times. They can’t reproduce the problem so they do nothing Of this occurs while driving all systems could fail. Truck has 2438 miles purchased new July 12,2022
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that immediately after leaving a stop light and making a left turn into a blind corner, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and activated the braking system causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in an intersection. During the failure an approaching vehicle had to swerve to avoid a collision with the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 1,100.

The vehicle will slam on the breaks if I am backing into a parking spot with any sort of vegetation. This happens way before I am anywhere close to being completely in the space. This could easily cause an accident and I have come very close multiple times. I have had to shut it off and the feature is unusable.
Back up camera will freeze and stop working. A loud tone will also sound and come through the speakers which will not stop until you turn the truck off and restart it. It is very distracting and unless you are in a safe place to do so can cause a hazard.
While pulling onto a busy roadway the engine of my 2022 Ram 1500 with e-torque shut off and the emergency brake applied itself at about 10mph. This was accompanied by a check engine light and low battery voltage light. After the sudden stop I was almost rear ended by another truck on the road behind me. Seems to be a known issue with these trucks.
The truck currently has 5804 miles. It has been to the dealership 4 times already for electrical-related issues, and once for a recall on the ECM. Total of 4 CILs by first 1000 miles. Then 1 additional light 8 days ago. Has been at service department since. The first major problem was at apx. 400 miles. The truck shut off at a light, even with the stop/start deactivated, and attempted to restart without success. The starter engaged but the injectors did not. It made a diesel sound until I pressed the start button again to retry, It had a CIL for injector bank misfire, then started back as normal. I drove straight to the dealer (within 2 miles) where they kept it for a week. They called and told me to come to pick it up because there were no issues with it. Apparently, the computer had no stored codes or history. Since then it has had a transmission over temp CIL, and 2 other lights that did not show me a message. The 12-inch Uconnect is constantly having errors and restarting (still awaiting a response from Ram on how to remedy it). The most current issue is when I was pulling away from a stop sign and the truck shifted to park and set the brake while shutting off on its own. Again stop/start was deactivated. Restarted the truck and drove straight to the dealer where it was observed by the service writer and manager that the low battery voltage message (11.5V) and light were on as well as several other lights. While driving it showed a low volt warning and started turning off loads to conserve power. I left the truck with them for 8 days so far. They have checked the truck multiple times as well have driven it. No evidence of any codes in the computer and no error lights anymore. Awaiting Ram to tell them what to do. At this point, I am afraid to drive the truck for fear it will shift to park while traveling at a higher speed and cause an accident. I now have a truck I cannot trust to drive and a hefty payment.
Truck was previously, in the Dodge Ram Dealership, in Glendale, on Brand Blvd. Within 7 days of having my truck "repaired" for SUDDEN AND ABRUPT STOP IN TRAFFIC - Check Engine Light, heater going on by itself, radio-bluetooth connection issues -it was returned with "new computer hardware" and days later June 8th leaving for work not far from my house my truck - ABRUPTY STOPPED WHILE DRIVENG IN TRAFFIC AGAIN! My "case" with customer Care has been REOPENED and my truck is still at the same dealer in service! I was told that a Dodge Durango had the same issue, and it would be looked into by the RAM engineers - The truck has now stopped in traffic twice in a matter of 7 days! I am more than concerned but FEARFUL for my safety and those that ried with me! I do mostly Freeway driving and I am TERRIFED it will STALL AND STOP on me while on the FREEWAY! PLEASE ADVISE!
When in tow haul mode the truck will get stuck in 3rd gear. Speed is limited to 30. Very dangerous when towing and on roads that require faster speed. Ram says the hope to fix the software issue sometime. They said do not tow. Affects all ram 1500 with etorque. Recall needed before accident.
Back up camera does not work and screen turns blue.
Radio will randomly switch sources and volume and speakers. This is very distracting and could cause an accident
1. Heater randomly comes on and can’t be shut off 2.rear-brake stops truck when reversing into driveway 3. Truck made noise and suddenly stopped in traffic - eeror message “power train issue” -able to restart car engine light remained on. 4. Service dealer could not get the 12” screen to respond to his touch! 5. Apps (Waze, car play and other apps) Not working constantly The abrupt stop happened on Friday Car has been in dealer for 5 full days while I must rent a car at my expense! NO explanation NO details NO information each time I’ve called dealer and Chrysler customer care! 5/16 - 5/20 after many calls - with promise of return call NOTHING! They say it’s with the technician and he’s looking at it!
Leased new Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab Big Horn V6 (7 miles) on 4/11/2022. Two days later, check engine light came on and dashboard turned on like a Christmas tree. Brought to Security Dodge dealer Amityville for service. They said it was “stored code” and turned off. A couple days later MIL (Malfunction a indicator light) or check engine light came back in. Took to same dealer for 5 days to repair issue to no avail. They said it was programming issue and emphasized “Bad fuel”. One day later “MIL” came back on flashing “check engine”. Brought back to dealer again for repair (Dodge still there). This all happened from 4/11 thru today, May 10 (with approximately 280 miles). I informed salesman and service that in Dodge app it states: “PowerTrain -Engine Malfunction EOBD /injection system failure”. However, nothing has been fixed. Basically, getting run around with Chrysler Corporate and dealer that they can’t fix Check engine light and engine problems. This vehicle is not “safe” to drive in the roadway. A real lemon. Pls. Investigate this claim..this truck has been a nightmare and more importantly not safe to drive.
2022 RAM 1500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED, PUT ITSELF IN PARK, AND ENGAGED THE PARKING BRAKE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE DISPLAY SCREEN BECAME INOPERABLE. THE PHONES WOULD NOT CONNECT, THE SOUND WOULD GO OUT, APPLE CAR PLAY AND CLOCK WERE INOPERABLE.
Driving at slow speed after vehicle sat overnight. Truck stalled, indicating place vehicle in park before starting. I shifted to park, additional lights and errors occurred. Disabled parking brake, and was able to start vehicle after two attempts.
Truck shut off when i was driving it. Left me stuck in the road blocking both lanes of traffic. Emergency brake self applied. Had a hard time re starting, battery light and check engine light came on
Right turn from to sign. Seems that start/stop shut off the engine. When brake was lifted the engine started and immediately stalled, e brake came on and battery warning and check engine light illuminated. I got It going again after shifting to park and releasing the parking brake and turned off start/stop. Got a weird drivetrain vibration soon after so I pulled off and turned the engine off. After I got going again it seemed to run fine but the check engine light is still lit. Two errors were thrown and appear in my Ram app: Charging System Failure EOBD/Injection System Failure
My ram was purchased in October. Since I have had it there have been multiple electrical problems. Speakers cutting in and out backup camera showing blue screen/ flickers from view to blue screen, and when these things happen it affects the way the engine runs. A few days ago I go in my truck to take off, placed truck in drive and left parking spot. 15 seconds later as I’m driving through the parking lot the emergency break engaged tried to disengage it and it wouldn’t release. Shut the truck off and back on and it disengaged. Friday morning is when I left my house for work, as I turned right from the neighborhood at the light the transmission slipped and engine just revved. Again I had to stop and shut off truck as cars were speeding towards my direction. If that has been any other morning when the intersection is busy I would have been in a pretty horrible accident thinking I would be able to take off as normal.
