My 2022 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving. When the screen goes black or freezes, the truck loses all functions controlled through the display, including HVAC/defrost, backup camera, vehicle settings, seat controls, and performance gauges. This creates an immediate safety hazard: I cannot adjust climate/defrost, cannot see the required rear-view camera when shifting to reverse, and cannot access key vehicle information. Owners across multiple years consistently report: • Black screens, freezes, and reboots • Loss of HVAC control and dual-zone functions • Backup camera not displaying • Vehicle/Apps tabs failing to open • Uconnect error messages • Smaller, harder-to-read gauges after updates • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto failures • No option to decline or roll back OTA updates These failures distract the driver, remove access to federally required equipment (rear camera), and eliminate visibility and climate controls that directly affect safe operation. The system becomes unpredictable and unstable despite the vehicle being in motion. My vehicle experiences the same issues, including black screen while driving, loss of HVAC, camera not available, system rebooting, buzzing noise and carplay connection issues. Because this affects essential safety-related controls and visibility, I believe this is a safety defect in Ram/Stellantis Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5 systems. I request NHTSA open a defect investigation and require Ram to correct these failures.
The radio in my truck keeps displaying a message about my uconnect not working and to seen an authorized dealer. This message blocks my view of my backup camera as well as creates a distraction while driving. After this message appears, my assist and SOS buttons no longer function as intended. The dealer has replaced multiple components related to this issue and have not resolved the problem. A substantial amount of people online also have this same complaint.
The vehicle had been in operation for approximately 10 minutes. While driving at highway speed on a downhill arterial road with a curve at the bottom, the infotainment system switched from the active screen to a small banner advertisement for complimentary Sirius XM radio service. This banner advertisement disabled all infotainment based actions including the previously displayed information, radio control, climate control, navigation guidance etc. Powering off and powering on via the easy to reach power button did not clear the system state. The only way to clear was to touch the small dim "X" button on gray background which was on the upper right hand (but below corner) portion of the screen. This was extremely difficult to locate and was completely invisible until after the road curved, casting enough shadow on the screen to make out the low contrast input. Having an unexpected superfluous pop up with a difficult to dismiss mechanism which prevents necessary in motion adjustments such as receiving driving guidance, muting audio, or activating defrost systems is distracting and dangerous to myself, and potentially other occupants, as well as to other vehicles and/or pedestrians which may have been present. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacture, police, insurance, etc. No other warning lamps or messages associated with this issue were displayed.
Back window of 2022 Dodge Ram is improperly sealed during manufacturing, and water is seeping into backseat area. Safety Concerns: 1. Water seepage: Indicates the rear window seal was not properly installed or has failed prematurely. 2. Glass stress: Continuous water pressure and poor sealing can weaken the bond between the glass and frame, increasing the risk of cracking or shattering. 3. Passenger safety: If the window breaks under stress, rear passengers could be exposed to sharp glass fragments. This was a recall on older Dodge Ram models and needs to happen in 2022 models as well.
Tailgate opens while driving. Pops open and cargo is lost.
The vehicle is a 2022 RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cab that experienced a complete failure of the 48-volt eTorque battery pack and Motor Generator Unit (MGU). On August 1, 2025, at approximately 11,374 miles, the truck became inoperable and had to be towed to the dealership. The dealership confirmed the failure of the eTorque hybrid system components. The vehicle has remained out of service since August 1, 2025, with multiple delays in sourcing the required replacement parts (battery pack and MGU). As of early October 2025, the truck remains at the dealership and has been non-operational for over 60 consecutive days. Safety Concerns: This failure presented a serious safety risk because the truck could not be driven or restarted after it stalled in the middle of a busy street. If the failure had occurred on a freeway or in traffic, the sudden loss of power could have led to a collision, placing the driver, passengers, and others on the road at risk. Inspection and Repairs: The failure was reproduced and confirmed by [XXX] Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM (La Mesa, CA). Chrysler/Stellantis engineering reviewed the case under Case #93835258 and authorized replacement parts. As of now, the vehicle is still not restored to operational condition despite multiple part shipments and attempted repairs. Warning/Failure Indicators: Prior to failure, the vehicle did NOT display warning lamps and messages associated with the hybrid system malfunction. Once the fault occurred, the vehicle could not run. Summary: Component(s) failed: 48V eTorque battery pack and Motor Generator Unit (MGU). Risk: Sudden loss of propulsion, high safety risk. Inspection: Confirmed by dealership and Stellantis engineers. Out of service: Vehicle has been non-operational since August 1, 2025 (over 60 days). Availability: The vehicle remains at the dealership and can be inspected upon request. Truck dies while driving. Has happened 7 times since purchase. Dealer can't duplicate.
Water leaking into the vehicle over the rear window on 9/6/2025 and 9/7/2025. Vehicle was brought to dealer on 9/8/2025 and a service date was scheduled for 9/15/25. Vehicle was water tested and confirmed to a have a crack in the backlite glass Frame. Service tech stated that the rear backlite glass assembly requires replacement and that the 3 year number-to-bumber warranty does Not cover it. Service tech reminded me that this should be repaired soon because the the rear glass may pop out.
The vehicle stalled randomly and applied the emergency break the and shut the truck off in the middle of the road I had to wait almost 10 minutes for the truck to even turn back on, this almost caused an accident luckily, the car behind me wasn’t following too close.

The seal around the back window is leaking. I have a 2022 Ram 1500 that was completed and picked up on 01/21/2022. Therefore, my vehicle was built in 2021. The issue is reoccurring and constantly leaks inside the cab of the truck when it rains. The truck smell musky and damp. The water leaks all the way under the seat and gets items wet in the under seat compartments.
MGU bearings in alternator are going out. Need replacement.
I was trying to get into my car and my RF hub stop working I couldn't get into my car and when I was able to I couldn't start it. I was at my daughters daycare and we were stranded. They say it was due to water damage and they stated this was caused by a faulty seal on the vehicle's and water entered the truck. This item should be recalled and fixed at the dealerships expense since its an known issue. What if I needed to take my daughter or family member to the ER.
The information system with the back up camera will lock up and not display the back up view or will display a view as a photo and not a video. It is making a loud buzzing noise when it is happening. It will then shut down and restart on its own, this usually takes about 2 minutes and then it is OK until i turn it off and restart it again. Does not happen every time but I would say that it happens 3 out of 5 times I start the vehicle.

Had system update to correct previous recall issue for backing camera. Update completed, but changed display. Display is no longer showing critical applications and is consistent with NHTSA complaint 11638513.
Towards the end of the summer of 2024 I received a recall notice #79B, rearview camera visibility. I brought my vehicle to Rockland CJD in Nanuet in September 2024, I was informed at that time that there was not a repair to correct the situation. I have since received another recall notice #97A also rearview camera visibility. I brought my vehicle to Rockland CJD today 04/10/2025 for service and to resolve the recall. I have been told that neither recall could be found through searching up the VIN. My vehicle is experiencing the problems described in the notice, blue screen or no display when shifted in reverse. I would like to be able to have this situation taken care of.
In October 2024, my 2022 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, which I purchased brand new from Lynch Ram in Wisconsin, suffered a catastrophic fuel system failure while I was driving. The fuel rail—previously under recall—cracked, spraying diesel fuel all over the engine bay and sending smoke and fumes through the cabin vents. While the truck didn’t catch fire, the situation posed a serious safety risk. I had to have it towed to Zeigler Ram in Downers Grove, Illinois, where they confirmed that the failure was due to the known recall issue. They replaced the part under warranty, despite previously stating that the necessary component had been unavailable for months. Fast forward to February 2025, and the exact same issue occurred again while I was on a road trip to Michigan. Once again, the fuel rail cracked, spraying fuel over the engine and sending fumes into the cabin. My truck was towed to Zeigler Ram in Grandville, Michigan, where it's now awaiting repairs. This means the replacement part only lasted four months before failing in the same dangerous manner. Serious Safety Concerns Fire Hazard: Diesel fuel being sprayed onto a hot engine creates a significant risk of ignition, which could lead to an engine fire while driving. Cabin Fumes Exposure: Diesel fumes entering the ventilation system can cause driver impairment, dizziness, nausea, and other health risks, especially on long drives. Repeat Failure in a Critical System: A fuel system defect that fails twice in four months raises concerns about the quality of the replacement parts and whether the manufacturer has truly resolved the issue.
Having a different electrical issues with this vehicle since I purchased it, of course the warranty has fallen off after just bringing it in for diagnosis for different reasons. Now it’s winter time and the truck will not start without a jump. I took it to get tested. Everything came back One thing that stood out at the auto parts store that the dealership could not find, kind of frustrating. The report reads no valid data available for ESM on CAN - C or CAND-PT with the codes U1267x2 and u1267-00 power training system. ABS- c2206-00 c2100-9a I’m hoping for help as now the truck is shortly out of warranty with miles now being 36400 miles. I also acknowledge that the car was cut out while driving at one point before all this happened. They couldn’t find anything so now I’m at a point where the truck doesn’t start without a jump I could probably take a video and show you right now. It’s probably dead. I went on vacation a week of Feb 8 out of town and I had to call my insurance company to give it a jump. There are other times the truck stall or cut off while driving. They drove the car and still couldn’t find the issues that I had and it’s starting to happen again.. so far Falls Dodge has been accommodating, but it’s very frustrating. Vehicle cut off in middle of intersection, locked emergency brake a d turned on battery light. Took several min to get vehicle operational. This put my family and I in grave danger. This issue has bee. Reported by priovious owner also. Very scary
I am writing to file a complaint regarding a serious safety issue with the backup camera system in my Ram 1500.Issue: Since [Date of Issue], the backup camera display on the 12.1-inch screen has been significantly reduced in size. It now occupies only half of the screen, with vehicle controls (climate, audio, etc.) occupying the lower portion. This unexpected change in functionality occurred without any prior notification or explanation. Safety Hazards: Reduced Rearward Visibility: The diminished camera display size severely compromises rearward visibility while backing up. This significantly increases the risk of collisions with pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles, particularly children and low-lying objects. Driver Distraction: The presence of vehicle controls within the camera view creates a significant distraction for the driver during a critical maneuver. This distraction further increases the risk of accidents. Obstructed View: The smaller camera view may obstruct crucial areas behind the vehicle, potentially obscuring children, pets, or other obstacles from the driver's view. Widespread Issue: Research on online forums, including the Ram Forum, indicates that this issue is not isolated and affects multiple Ram 1500 owners with the 12.1-inch display. This suggests a potential systemic software or hardware issue. Dealership Inability to Resolve: I have visited the dealership on [01/17/2025] to address this issue, but they have been unable to resolve it. On Saturday December 29th, while driving on a smaller regional highway I heard noise which seemed to be coming from the truck. As I looked into the rear view mirror I watched in horror the tonneau cover take flight and slam into the roadway behind me. Thankful, the cars noted to my right were not directly behind me, as it would have certainly caused a serious accident. I did circle back to locate the remains of the tonneau cover and still have it in my possession for evaluation. I contacted the dealer inquiring if there had been any recalls or safety issues or concerns regarding the tonneau cover that came with the 2022 custom build RAM truck. In that email I also who I should be in contact with to discuss the replacement of the cover and repairs to my truck for the failure of the cover. In my email to the dealership, I attached photos of the cover, damage and the odometer for documentation.To date yet to hear back from the dealer by phone or email I emailed the general sales manager at the dealership on Janurary 8th.
I was making a left turn and the vehicle abruptly stopped blocking both lanes of an arterial highway. The emergency brake came on . The vehicle would not shift into neutral so I couldn’t move it off the road. The vehicle was towed in. Had this happened on the expressway or at higher speed both my family and I could have been badly hurt.
My sun visor detatched and fell on my head while driving causing me to swerve into the median. I took it in and was told it's a common issue for RAMs, The dealership called MOPAR to file a clain, MOPAR insists the sun visor is a trim and not a safety related vehicle component designed to keep the driver from being blinded by the sun.
I am writing to formally express my concern and dissatisfaction regarding the safety recall repair on the tailgate latch of my 2022 Ram 1500, which was completed on January 8, 2023. Despite the repair being marked as “completed,” I have continued to experience issues with the tailgate latch, indicating that the recall was not fully effective. As I was driving up my driveway preparing to stop in front of the garage, the Ram accelerated out of control, as if someone else was driving the truck. I could not stop it, even with my foot on the brake, until the truck crashed into my house. Even stopped, the engine was revving/racing until I turned the ignition off.
My 2022 Ram sunvisor has a broken connection that caused it to come loose from the roof/ceiling and dangle in my line of sight while driving. This almost caused an accident for me as it startled me and I had to take my hands off the wheel to stop it from swinging by the electrical cord. It is a powered sunvisor with my garage door opener built in and that is the only reason it did not fall completely in my lap. I am hoping by reporting that other people may have had a similar issue and measures can be taken to stop this from happening to others. I went to the place where I purchased the vehicle and warranty to find out that this defect is not covered under warranty. For a vehicle that is only 2 calendar years old with 49,000 miles, this part should not fail. I am unable to add additional photos showing how far down in line of sight the visor falls. The website only uploads blanks.
The truck is not safe to drive
I was pulling forward from a stop sign entering the intersection when my truck abruptly stopped and threw me into the steering wheel. An alarm was dinging and lit warnings were flashing. One alert said to release the emergency brake, so I released the emergency and pressed on the accelerator and nothing happened. The engine was shut off and in park. I was in a panic and didn't take time to see what all the warnings were. I started the truck and drove a mile home.
I am not sure what system failed, but I suspect it could be an electrical or engine problem. The car has lost towing features, has shut off or almost shut off while driving on highways or while making left and right turns during exits from highways. The vehicle has also lost power steering. This happen while the vehicle was towing a travel trailer on the highway. There will be occasions when the front collision warning system goes off in spite of no collision being imminent. There have been occasions where the infotainment unit fails to turn on and also the rear-view camera feature does not come on. The vehicle continues to have these issues off and on. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and those that were onboard the vehicle were put at high risk because the vehicle could have been rear-ended had vehicles behind me been following more closely while the vehicle lost power and stalled/almost stalled. On the highway, my safety and those of others were at even higher risk due to increased speeds. During towing our safety has been tremendously put at risk. Some of the problems have been "fixed" by the local dealership (i.e. loose cables, replacement of infotainment unit). In other instances (stalling issue, collision warning system) the dealer claims to be unable to reproduce the problem. The vehicle and or components have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, etc. One occasion there was a "check engine" warning, but it was very brief. Other than that there have bee no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problems prior to the failure. These issues first appeared in August 2022, four months after purchased brand new from the dealer. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer for inspection of these issues ever since, on at least five occasions. The latest stalling issue was in March 2024, though I did not take it to the dealer since on prior instances they have insisted there is nothing wrong with the vehicle.
While driving at low speeds, truck shuts off and emergency brake is applied. This has happened when pulling out into traffic. The truck just turns off. I have to disengage the emergency brake and then the truck will restart. The only light that comes on is the emergency brake light. This has happened multiple times over past few weeks.
Vehicle was taken to dealer to inspect for possible water intrusion into the cab from the rear window frame/seal. Dealer confirmed leak in the upper Corner and asked for Ram to approve to replace. Ram denied stating the initial glass warranty is only 12 months. This isn't a Glass issue as these trucks are prone to rear window leaks due to faulty seal/sealant and windo Frame cracks. 2022 ram 1500 woth .under 26000 miles.
My husbands and my life were put in danger by the motor not being bolted correctly to the frame of the truck, only 2 bolts were holding it and it could have fallen out, the tire having a screw in it on the inside of the side wall of tire, radiator not bolted correctly to the truck and could have fallen out, Freon and antifreeze leaks into the cabin after we picked up the truck, transmission not being bolted in correctly and wire harness hanging loose, clamps not being tightened, fluid missing from radiator, clips not connected, bolts broken off into the motor, bolts stripped and not secure, brake and transmission fluid leaks when they told us too pick up after repairs were made at Mt. Ephraim Dodge dealership in NJ. The truck is at the dealership where we purchased it on [XXX] and has been there since [XXX]. I brought a brand new vehicle from thunder chrysler dodge Jeep ram in bartow, FL in July 2022. I took it back to the dealer to be seen as it was making a weird noise and sounded off the beginning of 2024. They looked at the vehicle as it was under warranty and I picked up the vehicle several days later. Only to then realize the vehicle was doing the same thing. Took it back to the dealer, they claim they repaired it again and I drove it off the lot and realized immediately it still wasn’t fixed. This goes on now 3-4 different times. The dealer states they have never had this happen before and cannot direct me on who to contact regarding my vehicle being repaired or bought back etc. they sold me a lemon vehicle and I want to be fully compensated for this.
The truck shut off on me at high speed on the highway. Another time which I caught on video, I was making a right hand turn and the truck shut off.
Navigation not working. I am fear of my life because I use I could died. I been trying Dodge ram an Uconnect to fix this problem for almost a year an tell me the part on order with no time frame to fix it.
On three (3) separate occasions I was making a turn when the engine just shut down and turned to the off position. Two occasions were on to a busy road…where fortunately no cars were coming at the time or I could have been seriously injured.
The vehicle is equipped with an Auto Start/stop that turns the vehicle off when in the Drive position if the vehicle is sitting still for a period of time. This kicks on at every stoplight and every time the vehicle is sitting still with my foot on the break for longer than about 10 seconds. The vehicle will turn off but will not restart. It will try until the battery is drained to the point the low battery indicator comes on. In the instance that the vehicle does start it chugs along for 15-20 feet and then dies again. This has pushed me into the middle of intersections and then died. It has done it to me while making a left hand turn which puts me directly into oncoming traffic. It has done this while emergency vehicles are behind me and prevents me from getting out of the way. It has done it to me while merging onto the highway. I have had the vehicle in the shop 4 times in the last month and a half and even after the issue is “corrected” it malfunctions again. The Star Engineers from Chrysler have had the vehicle under diagnostics for over a month and still can’t pinpoint the problem. The dealership has informed me the issue is not fixable, and Ram has told me that they are not taking ownership of the problem and that I should be patient for it to be fixed. We will now be escalating this to a legal issue. I’d like it noted that I have multiple videos of the vehicle malfunctioning and how it locks the truck up.
Multiple lights going off all at once, including ABS, four-wheel-drive, towing, Lane assist, collision, etc. I have had this vehicle to the local dealer for this same complaint, and nothing was found, condition resolved itself. It has returned just a few months later. During this episode, the speedometer and tachometer do not work, nor do turn signals.
Unknown to me what the issue is but here is my best assessment of the incidents that have occurred. While driving today, the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating as if I had suddenly put the truck into park, but I was still on drive. The vehicle screen indicated to me that I had to press the brakes and press the push start to start the vehicle again, but I never turned the vehicle off on my own in the first place. I was stopped in the middle of the lane and had to put my hazards on to try and figure out what was happening. I switched the gear into park and pressed my brakes to press the push start to start the truck back up again and everything was fine. There was another incident with this vehicle that happened probably close to a year ago where I was driving on the freeway and suddenly the vehicle would no longer accelerate and started to slowly decrease in speed and thankfully, I was able to move over 3 lanes and stop the vehicle on the shoulder. I turned off the engine and push started the car again and everything was fine. Both times, I could have easily been hit by another vehicle. There were no warnings beforehand when either of these incidents happened and the truck has never been inspected for these issues.
While driving down a straight road going approximately 20 mph my truck pulled me hard to the left and I was unable to control it. The assembly for my front left wheel completely came apart, and my truck was stranded in the middle of the road, without me being able to move it forward or backwards. The dealer stated that the ball joints to the upper and lower control arms both popped out at the same time. The dealer stated that they were unsure why this happened, and that there was no damage or wear to the ball joints. Upon doing my own research, I was able to find an online thread with many other consumers who had the same exact problem as me. Many people stated that it is an issue with the stock upper and lower control arms, and that because of how the truck sits, it puts the ball joints at their limits Increasing the chances of them popping out. Now, my truck is sitting at the dealership with no estimated time of repair due to them being unable to get any parts. My fear is that my safety would have been impacted if this happened at a higher rate of speed on a busier road, such as a highway. There were no warnings or indications that anything was wrong with my truck, and it was driving completely normal up until the incident. I also fear of this happening again since they are replacing the damage parts with stock parts, as well as me being unsure, if this will happen to the other side of my vehicle as well.
I purchased this vehicle on May 4, 2023. On 8/5/23, the vehicle did an over the air software upgrade to T25.48. After it did the upgrade a few of my safety features were erased/eliminated. The side cameras stop working. I brought the truck to Stewart Dodge Dealership in Colma Ca. on 8/7/23 so they can reflash the system. The mechanic said that my truck wouldn’t accept the reflash. It appears my system got corrupted from the software upgrade. After the reflash, my hands free text messages thru the radio stopped working. The mechanic told me that there is a TSB case # S238A000041 about a potential problem after doing this software upgrade. Since then, a Dodge Customer Service representative contacted me, Beth J. and told me that I have a Star case # now. My Star Case # is [XXXXXX] In my opinion, this software upgrade made my truck a safety hazard to me and the public. Stewart Dodge Dealership is saying I have to wait for any repairs since a software enhancement is expected in the 4th quarter 2023. They will not change the radio or throw parts at it. The back up camera is not working, there is only a blue screen when I put my truck in reverse. The error message says camera system unavailable. Took it to the dealership to get it fixed and they had it for a week and did not give me a loaner I had to pay for a rental car out of pocket I am severely irritated with my local Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram service center they are not catering to me as a customer and it's really ridiculous because we're talking about a safety issue if I can't use my backup camera to hook up my trailer for work.
After a cold start, I drove 0.5 miles to an intersection. The engine stalled, the vehicle applied the electric parking brake, and would not move. The dash indicated a shift to park was required. The shift was completed and the vehicle was restarted, but in an unsafe state. The hybrid starter/generator was not charging the battery, and service was required. I have had this truck to the dealer several times for this safety problem but they can't duplicate or fix it. I believe it is the same as 23V-265, but they have not included 2022 models.
I bought the truck December 2021 but my truck is 2022 ram 1500, couple month after bought it , when I'm drive the truck in the middle of intersection my truck turn off (stall ) next day i brought to dealer ship to inspect but they couldn't find anything wrong , and today Aug 5 2023 its happen again when I'm about to crossing the road the truck just stop (stall). And it's all recorded on my dash cam and I call the dealer and they said to bring my truck on Monday Aug 7 2023
Multiple instances where vehicle shuts down, immediately stopping/slowing the vehicle. This has occurred while vehicle is in motion, also in stop and go traffic. Engine will shut off immediately and throw multiple check engine/system warnings, including "Service ABS, Service Stability/Traction Control, Service Airbags. Had service appointment with dealer, but was vehicle was released with dealer stating they could not reproduce instance. Within a week, the vehicle shut down in traffic and had to be towed back to the dealer. Pictures were taken of the dash code and provided to the dealer. After a second week, the dealer response was they could not duplicate the problem.
Two issues, both 12" radio/infotainment issues. 1) Radio will often, and without warning get, for lack of a better term, corrupted, the entire system freezes, no screen control and makes a loud static esc noise.. The only way to fix the issue is to power cycle the radio either by holding the power button and scan button down for 15 or so seconds, or turning off the truck and cycling the power to the radio by opening then closing and opening the door again.. Neither are easy to do when traveling at highways speeds. 2) Infotainment screen will turn off, loosing all controls to cabin features and controls. Radio still works, but no screen is available for controls. ( the screen on/off button DOES NOT turn or reset the screen when this happens) The only way to get the screen back on is to power cycle the truck--- turning off the truck, opening, closing and opening the door again. again, not an easy feat when at highway speeds.
April 8th, 2022, we began having concerns with the safety of the vehicle when the vehicle would not turn off after pressing the off button. The speakers were intermittently working (specific zones not working and eventually all sound lost), no back up alert sounds when vehicle in reverse. After multiple attempts, the vehicle turned off. The next day we started the vehicle and it seemed as though everything had “reset” itself. On 4/13/23 the standing issues mentioned above continued to occur. We brought the vehicle back into Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Brooksville. The Body Control Module was replaced at that time. We picked up the vehicle on 4/25/23. After leaving the dealership, approximately 3 miles down the road, the radio and speakers began to malfunction, and the back-up sensor was not alarming nor producing any sound. The dealership was immediately contacted, and we were told to bring the vehicle back to be serviced once business hours resumed (it was 5:30pm when we picked the vehicle up). Videos were taken to corroborate malfunctions and provided to dealership. 4/26/23 - While driving 45 mph. the emergency brake engaged, bringing the vehicle to a screeching halt. On 5/10/23, while driving at 55mph, the vehicle lost all power The sound system/speakers lost all functionality as well. Videos were taken to corroborate malfunctions and provided to dealership.
My 2022 Ram-1500 V6 Etorque truck has stalled 5 different times. Each time it happened after I had been driving 10 minutes or up to 1hr. Each time I was stopped at an intersection or in stop and go traffic. Twice I was able to restart it in less than 1 min. One time was a few minutes. The other two times it would not restart after several minutes. The Sales person suggested I get out of the truck then lock it and unlock it. After 5 to 15 minutes I was able to restart it. In both cases I had to exit the truck in traffic to lock and unlock it. In all 5 cases I was in traffic when this happened. This problem first occurred a few weeks (480 miles) after I bought the truck. The truck is now into a dealer service shop for a second time for this problem. So far they have not been able to diagnose the problem.
Musty smell coming from the Heating/AC since new. Caused a fellow worker to have sneezing fits. Have tried to alleviate the problem myself. Changed cabin air filter, cleaned an already clean cab even more, added disinfectant to vents….to no avail. Smell is still there. Makes me question when this truck was built and how long it sat outside in a field/lot somewhere?
Vehicle has no heat or defrost vehicle has been in the shop for over 30 days this problem began as soon as the car was leased new at the dealership which was at the end of January
Less than 500 Miles engine code EOBD injection system failure. Engine stalled. 5149 miles EOBD injection system failure - Leaving stop sign, mid intersection, engine shut off truck stopped, parking brake applied automatically. Restarted, removed brake drove out of intersection. Malfunction light on dash. 5150 battery light intermittent with the above code on. 7538 miles slowed not completely stopped for stop sign. Engine stop /Start stopped. Hit gas no engine possible e-torque only, whine noise. Truck moved but slow. Let off gas,truck stopped rolling, it applied auto brake. Restarted. Long cranking then started. Moved off rail road tracks. Then had no charging. Battery light and just battery voltage. Got home shut off. Checked belts. Restarted ok charging. Note. When truck restarted from first issue I didn't cycle off. Just hit start. 10997 miles stalled at a stop. Set brake and park. Restarted without shutting off. Running without charging battery. Dealer unable to reproduce issue. Also says no codes show that caused issue. Truck currently at dealer. Dealer told to contact corporate. I opened case with them #[XXX]. Water intrusion into front of cab. Leaking from storage cavity at top of windshield. May have been the cause of failure of heated seat and heated steering wheel assembly. Dealer has been notified of water leak, and has asked for video evidence prior to repair. Further research has stated that other electrical systems (including key safety components) can be damaged by water leaking from above, as well as mold growth in the headliner. There was no warning, and I only happened to notice when entering into the truck on a rainy day.
The large 12in screen in the middle of the dash that controls all of the safety functions, the radio, temperature controls, rear view camera, etc went blank and was accompanied by an extremely loud beeping noise. I was driving at speed when this happened and almost lost control of the truck. I’m terrified to continue to drive the truck because I don’t know if it will happen again. I also don’t know what works and what doesn’t.
I went to Walmart and my truck shift off coming of the highway . All power died but said was still running I pulled in to Walmart because it was the closest place to coast in to with no power steering . I get out look around nothing looks wrong so I get back in push the engine start button and my truck makes a load bank noise followed by a bright flash as my antenna exploded. I have only 600 miles on it never knew this was a problem I don't even know where to begin I have no power any where in my truck except hazards dome lights that is all
DRIVING AROUND 40MPH ON A BUSY ROAD WAY I WENT TO SLOW DOWN AND MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN INTO A SHOPPING CENTER. TRUCK DIED WITHOUT WARNING, DASH DISPLAYED NORMAL START PROMPT SCREEN THEN TOLD ME TO SHIFT TO PARK. THE LADY BEHIND ME ALMOST REAR ENDED ME. SO IT STOPPED THE TRUCK COMPLETLEY AND RESTARTED WITH NO ISSUE. IM NOW VERY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFTEY OF MY FAMILY AND MYSELF NOT TO MENTION I DO TOW A SMALL BUT EXPENSIVE BASS BOAT ON THE WEEKENDS WHICH COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND OR FINANCIAL LOSS!
Truck cut off while driving. Once stopped engine does not restart. Less than 3k miles.
Rear backup camera has no grid lines and is grainy/hard to see. Dealer troublshooted problem, determined radio to be defective. Ram/Stellantis refuises to replace radio due to "software malfunction" to be addressed in undisclosed update.
I was at a complete stop awaiting a draw bridge to lower. I put my vehicle in park. When the cars In front of me started to move I put my foot on the brake and turned the knob to drive. My vehicle immediately accelerated out of control. I immediately pressed both feet on the brake as hard as I could and the vehicle kept moving. I hit a guy on a motorcycle and swerved left as hard as I could. I traveled another 150-200 feet and was quickly approaching a gate at a local factory when my vehicle stopped three feet in front of the gate. I thought I killed the guy on the motorcycle- luckily he was ok. The witness behind me described the incident exactly as I did too. I contacted Daimler Chrysler and opened up a case with them. Seems like the gas pedal was pressing itself and I could over power it.
The vehicle will slam on the breaks if I am backing into a parking spot with any sort of vegetation. This happens way before I am anywhere close to being completely in the space. This could easily cause an accident and I have come very close multiple times. I have had to shut it off and the feature is unusable.
Back up camera will freeze and stop working. A loud tone will also sound and come through the speakers which will not stop until you turn the truck off and restart it. It is very distracting and unless you are in a safe place to do so can cause a hazard.
Vehicle stalls randomly while driving and automatically applies the emergency brake. Stalling randomly and applying the emergency brake in the street/highway with traffic is dangerous and unsafe. This is our primary vehicle and the dealership has been unable to recreate the stalling. The vehicle has been to the dealership twice for the stalling but the problem is still unresolved. The stalling started randomly in March-April 2022. The dealership was notified and vehicle taken in for multiple services. Problem still not solved.
While trying to leave for work I’ve had multiple days of a hard start or no start issue. The vehicle will attempt to start and either run rough for 2 mins while it catches up or will just shut off and not start again for a few minutes. The blower motor inside the car seems to be not functioning properly, while driving it will increase speed and then slow down, and it will do this for the length of the ride.
Truck was previously, in the Dodge Ram Dealership, in Glendale, on Brand Blvd. Within 7 days of having my truck "repaired" for SUDDEN AND ABRUPT STOP IN TRAFFIC - Check Engine Light, heater going on by itself, radio-bluetooth connection issues -it was returned with "new computer hardware" and days later June 8th leaving for work not far from my house my truck - ABRUPTY STOPPED WHILE DRIVENG IN TRAFFIC AGAIN! My "case" with customer Care has been REOPENED and my truck is still at the same dealer in service! I was told that a Dodge Durango had the same issue, and it would be looked into by the RAM engineers - The truck has now stopped in traffic twice in a matter of 7 days! I am more than concerned but FEARFUL for my safety and those that ried with me! I do mostly Freeway driving and I am TERRIFED it will STALL AND STOP on me while on the FREEWAY! PLEASE ADVISE!
First Incident was power train failure while attempting to accelerate to merge into expressway traffic the vehicle suddenly revved to high RPMs and wouldn't gain speed acting like the transmission wouldn't shift out of first gear. Had to pull to the shoulder and turn off the vehicle and restart before it functioned properly. With in half an hour received an email the said I'd experienced powertrain failure. I then noticed the service engine soon light on. by the time I got to the dealer the light went out and they refused to look at the vehicle. 10 days later I started seeing warning show up on the display both in the consul and on the Uconnect system. indicating tire pressure and airbag issues. This is the second Vehicle purchase from the same manufacturer and same sale dealership to run such issues.
When accelerating from a stop the vehicle hesitates and takes off very slow which could cause an accident. I’m not the only one that has complained about this defect a lot of people with the eco-diesel are having the same problem and it could cause an accident.
4 ISSUES. #1 STEREO SCREEN SAYS OVER HEATING SHUTTING DOWN #2 RADIO SCREEN TURNS BLUE SAYS SCREEN OVERHEATING SHUTTING DOWN. SERIUS RADIO KEEPS REMOVING FROM RADIO. #3 WHEN BRAKING THE CAR WILL THRUST FORWARD AS IN A PUSH, PUSHING YOU HARD INTO THE CAR STOPPED AHEAD OF YOU. THE HARDER THE BRAKING THE HARDER THE THRUST/PUSH. (THIS IS A MAGER SAFETY CONCERN) ITS NOT IF YOU GET INTO A ACCIDENT IT IS WHEN. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2022 RAM 1500 BRAKING(EITHER TRANSMISSION OR POWER TRAIN) BUT IT IS BAD I ALMOST GOT INTO SEVERAL REAR END COLLISIONS DUE TO THE DODGES THRUST WHEN BRAKING. I SPOKE TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND OWNS A 2022 DODGE REAM AND HE STATED HIS DODGE RAM HAS THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE FORCEFUL THRUST WHEN BREAKING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. #4 ELECTRICAL.
I was pulling our from a stop sign to make a left turn when all of a sudden the engine shut down, emergency brake engaged and all engine power was lost. I would have been struck by cross traffic had there been any as I did not have the ability to maneuver the vehicle. The vehicle was able to be restarted and disengage the emergency brake but the engine light remains on.
