2018 RAM 2500 Unknown Or Other Problems

Early 2024 and it continues today, I randomly get an alert about my braking system needing checked but then the message will go away and everything works fine. I finally took it to Keer Automotive dealership in New Lexington OH in March 2024 to see what was going on and they advised there was an issue with the ABS module and the part wasn't available but they were expecting it in May 2024 and it would cost about $1800 for the repair. They put me on their list to contact when they received the parts. Around November 2024, I received a recall notice. To date, I am still waiting on the part. I continue to follow up with Keer but they have no answers. In the meantime, I am stuck with a $65,000 truck that has a faulty braking unit. It is my mode of transportation and with winter upon us once again I am faced with winter weather driving and not knowing if my brakes will work properly. This puts me and anyone riding with me at extreme risk of an accident as well as anyone around me that could be impacted should an accident occur.

Traction Control and ABS not working properly. ABS light on dashboard is on called dealer several times and am told that the parts are unavailable. However, they said if I want to pay for the parts they could fix it. We called mopar and were told that the parts are available and can even be purchased on [XXX] . Called and explained this to the dealer and they said they had 1 in stock and made an appointment. Then received a call that they didnt know if they could get the parts - seems like if I want to pay out of pocket they will fix it. I would like to know if I lose my brakes or have an accident because of this safety issue who will be responsible?? Recently the radio and display system in the vehicle stopped working properly. It was basically ghosting all commands. It could not be controlled by knobs, touch screen or voice command. the dealer stated that the screen delaminated and was causing the issue. This is a safety concern because the radio was calling 911 randomly and I was unable to stop it, it was turn on and off features in the vehicle. It's very dangerous. there is a wide know problem for these delaminating screens and this should be recalled and fixed.

RECALL ISSUED NOV 2024. PARTS STILL NOT AVAILABLE FROM MANUFACTURER BUT CAN ORDER THEM ONLINE FROM THIRD PARTY. ABS AND STABILITY CONTRPL LIGHT STAY ON CONTINUOUSLY, ALSO PREVENTS 4WD FROM WORKING AND CRUISE CONTROL. THIS IS A DAILY DRIVER FOR WORK AND IS A 7 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. WHY CAN WE NOT GET THIS FIXED. CANT GET A RESPONSE FROM MANUFACTURER.

I had an appointment scheduled for November 18, 2025, at Lithia Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT of Santa Fe to address five outstanding recalls on my Ram 2500 truck. On the morning of November 10, 2025, I called to verify my appointment and was informed by a representative in the service department that my vehicle would need to remain in the shop for at least 48 hours, and that they had never performed these particular recalls before. I requested to speak with the Service Manager, Michael, and made several attempts to reach him to confirm whether the dealership had experience completing these recalls, as I was seeking reassurance. When I finally spoke with Michael, he came across as confrontational. Following that conversation, I contacted Stellantis to inquire about obtaining a rental vehicle, as I had been told the recall work would take a minimum of 48 hours. After speaking with Stellantis, I was informed that when their representative called the dealership, they were told my appointment had been canceled—apparently because I had questioned the dealership’s ability to perform the recalls.

Rear camera doesn’t fully work. I’ve already had to have it replaced once it’s blurry and it’s a big vehicle causing me to almost run over a child.

I purchased a used pickup truck in October 2023 from a dealership in South Holland, Illinois. After the purchase, I later discovered that the odometer reading on the vehicle had been rolled back. A Chrysler dealership’s service record showed the vehicle had over 188,000 miles earlier in 2023, but it was sold to me showing around 129,000 miles. This is a difference of almost 60,000 miles. When I contacted the selling dealership, they blamed the auction they purchased it from and have not provided any resolution. Because of this discrepancy, I was denied extended warranty coverage and had to pay out-of-pocket for major repairs soon after purchase. I am submitting this report so it can be documented as a potential case of odometer fraud and investigated further.

Radio screen delamination. Causing ghost touch screen constantly changing radio, settings, calling people, messing with vehicle settings. Connection to OnStar service when not needed and then not able to control the radio to make changes. 100% dangerous and unsafe. Talked to 3 dealership and was told nothing in warrant or recalls but it's a known issue your with pay 100% cost or live with it..

Unknown--The manufacturer has not yet provided a resolution to this recall since NOVEMBER of 2024 so I am just reporting the lack of resolution.

While operating my 2018 Ram 2500, the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) failed suddenly and completely, causing the loss of: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Traction Control This failure occurred without warning, creating an immediate risk of accident. The dashboard illuminated warning lights indicating system failure. The most recent diagnostic, performed on 8/19/2025 at Haley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, confirmed that the HCU requires replacement. Previous incidents with the vehicle involved intermittent failures of the same systems, indicating a persistent and unresolved safety defect. The dealer has indicated that a permanent fix may not be available until late March 2026. Due to the ongoing safety risk and extended timeline for repair, I am requesting a manufacturer buyback at this time. Stellantis has not provided rental coverage upfront, requiring that I pay for a rental vehicle and submit reimbursement, which imposes financial hardship while the vehicle remains unsafe. Impact / Safety Concern: -The vehicle cannot be safely driven. -Significant risk of injury or property damage due to failure of critical braking and stability systems. Requested Action: I request federal oversight and that Stellantis provide a permanent remedy, including: -Manufacturer Buyback – Repurchase of my current 2018 Ram 2500 at 120% of the current market value; or -Manufacturer Replacement – A comparable vehicle with no unremedied recalls, free of the defect, and without additional cost Legal Assertion: I am submitting this complaint in good faith under 49 U.S.C. §30166 and related federal safety defect statutes. RECIEVED A RECALL NOTICE (WILL TRY TO ATTACH TO THIS COMPLAINT) on or about December 2024 (ACCORDING TO RAM REPRESENTATIVE) stating that '[T]he BRAKE hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) ON YOUR VEHICLE may be susceptible to failure... The loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.' I called several Dodge Ram Dealers to have the recall fixed on or about December 2024 & was told that there was no fix yet available. Called again a couple of months later and was told the same. After that I forgot to followup again until today 8-11-2025 and was again told the same. IT HAS BEEN ABOUT 9 MONTHS & EVEN THE NHTSA NOTICE ON YOUR WEBSITE SAYS THAT RAM STILL HAS NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUG THE RECALL NOTICE MAKES IT CLEAR THAT THE PROBELM IS AN "IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE. " I REQUEST THAT THE NHTSA CONTACT DODGE RAM AND FORCE THEM TO COME UP WITH A SOLUTION TO FIX THE RECALL ASAP. because of the admitted safety issues. -

This is about the mirror back up camera. Since I bought it new in 2018 the camera started to not working properly. The first time I noticed was when I was at the bank and was about to reverse at which time the camera should be on the mirror and showing the objects on back of the teuck, apparently was nothing and I hit a metal Pole. After that I never trusted the camera and I noticed that the camera appears sometimes but it freezes so it doesn’t show images in real time. At other times after I put my truck in drive camera it’s still on the mirror so I’m driving with the camera on, I have to completely stop, turn the truck off and turn it back on to solve the problem. Camera also glitches at times. I mentioned this problem to the dealer where I bought the truck and to the one in Merced CA but nobody listens!! I’m frustrated, really don’t know what to do. This is an ongoing issue and big problem for me. And if my son is going to borrow the truck I have to remind him no to rely on the camera.

At the end of last year, our fleet manager informed us of a recall on one of our vehicles (VIN: [XXX] ). The recall came out Nov 27, 2024 (24V-896). I had initially contacted my local dealership (Planet Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT of Flagstaff) and they let me know that these recalls typically become serviceable after ~1-2 months. My ABS light keeps coming on intermittently. I been calling mopar since this recall started in 2024 and they are not supplying needed parts to the dealership to fix it. I call mopar and no ETA on the parts. I want this fixed since they said it can cause my truck to wreck with no notice. I have kids in my truck all the time and mad on delay. How are they getting by not fixing this.

afety Recall V06 / NHTSA 19V-021 Drag Link - January 25, 2019 This so called fix is abhorrent! It calls for welding an adjustable part of the steering linkage rendering it non- adjustable when having the front end aligned in the future. Not to mention the effect of welding, potentially causing a problem with the integrity of the metal. The correct fix for this SAFETY issue is to REPLACE this steering linkage component (which is an option). No do a weld job on the steering linkage of all things! I am appalled that NHTSA approved such a thing. PLEASE revisit this issue and do the right thing. Require Chrysler (FCA US LLC) to REPLACE this defective part with the proper part. Note.... Chrysler is not welding the nuts on the drag links on trucks coming off the assembly line! They are coming off with proper, safe, adjustable drag links!

Uconnect radio screen is delaminating causing back up camera to malfunction as camera changes from bed to back camera view while using the camera for safe backing up impossible. Also while driving unit makes calls both emergency and personal calls and my subscription for sirius xm is useless.

The recall was issued for the Hydraulic control unit but there are no parts available to fix the issue..this in my issue. They have no HCU unit for over a year now. I contacted the dealer Deacons Chrysler in Ohio. Dealer wants me to pay for the diagnostic for the recall. But there is no parts available. This is unfair. How long do we have to wait for parts. And why do I have to pay for the recall diagnostic?

I'VE BEEN OPERATING MY TRUCK SEVERAL TIMES NOW WHERE THE CRUISE CONTROL HAS WENT OFF OR DISENGAGED WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING A SLIGHT PANIC FROM NOT KNOWING WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THAT MOMENT. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE TOWING, WHICH MADE THINGS EVEN WORSE. MY CRUISE CONTROL IS NO LONGER WORKING AND NOW I AM DEALING WITH THE RECALL WHERE THERE IS A "REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". THIS WOULD BE RECALL MANUFACTURER NUMBER C4B AND NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 24V-896. I BELIEVE THIS RECALL TO BE TIED IN WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL ISSUE. NOW I HAVE A TRUCK THAT I HAVE NO OTHER OPTION THAN TO OPERATE AS MY DAILY DRIVER; WITH NO CRUISE CONTROL, ABS/ECS/TRACTION CONRTOL. I'VE CONTACTED SEVERAL DEALERS TO SEE IF THEY HAD ANY INSIGHT AND I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE SAME ANSWER ABOUT THERE NOT BEING A 'REMEDY'. I WANT IT TO BE KNOWN FOR LEGAL PURPOSES THAT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE OPERATING MY TRUCK AT THIS TIME BUT AGAIN I HAVE NO OTHER VEHICLE AT THIS TIME TO OPERATE. I HAVE AGAIN REQUESTED ASSISTANCE FROM SEVERAL DEALERS WHO HAV BEEN UNABLE TO HELP ME WITH THE RECALL LISTED ABOVE.

ABS & traction control light coming on intermittently I have had in a shop a bunch still not fixed

ABS warning light flashes then Traction Control will flash with a bing-bong noise. Now a few days later the 2 lights come on at startup and stay on. Bing -Bong noise is intermittent. Cruise Control will no longer engage. Model 2018 2500 Laramie crew cab with 122K miles. My concern is braking when pulling my 5th wheel. I think there is an investigation working right now. in 2022 the abs and traction control lights began to come on together, leading to loss of ABS and traction control in addition to not being able to use the cruise control. Vehicle was taken to the dealer to be serviced and they stated they would replace the HCU but would not replace the ABS module as they would only address one thing at a time. The problem continues to persist with the constant alarm ding and loss of abs and traction control as the lights continue to flash on the dash. This is a safety issue as you don't know when you'll have abs or traction control and if it happens while driving with the cruise control on, it abruptly shuts down the cruise control.

The rearview mirror backup camera display intermittently does not turn on or disappears while vehicle is in reverse. Yes. Could cause significant risk to others outside the vehicle while backing up if not seen in other mirrors. I have sent the truck in multiple times to multiple dealers but it is intermittent so they were not able to recreate the problem while in their possession. Only inspected by the dealership. No warning lamps or messages or other issues prior to the display not showing. I first noticed the issue the first week I purchased the truck (2022). I have a video of the issue for proof but this form will not allow me to upload.

My ABS light came on and then shortly later I noticed that my stability control system was disabled and its warning light came on. I also lost the ability to use my cruise control. Took vehicle to the dealer and they determined that the ABS Control unit needed to be replaced. They trouble shot the issue and replaced the ABS Hydraulic Control unit. This repair is for the same recall as 85B for Ram 1500's.

I received the recall notice V06, for the Drag Link, I purchase 4 new tires and took the truck in to have the repairs done, the dealership informed me that I also needed upper and lower ball joints both sides and front end alignment, I had them preform all that they said it needed. I took the truck back because I noticed excessive tire were and they told me that the Drag link needs replaced, the alignment redone and that I would have to pay for it

This truck has had two major REAR-END repairs. After the last one it vibrates. Several sets of tires and even a new set of rims and it still vibrates. NONE of the dealers can locate anything.I took it to a shop that has vibration detection equipment. Their results show the issue is in the rear end. I get no resolution or help in resolving the issue. I have been out a lot of money on this truck due to odd break downs and issues that Ram refuses to acknowledge. I am beyond sick of this. I paid a lot of money for this junk.

Hitting bumps causes an intermittent chime and notification alerting me that the Antilock Breaking System and Electronic Breaking System need service. Both the ABS and traction control lights are illuminated. I contacted my local dealer and they indicated that this isn't an immediate safety concern and is due to an electrical issue for which they haven't solved. They quoted me $1,600 for the replacement of the Anti-Lock Brake System Module and Hydraulic Control Unit. After some online research, it seems that this is a common issue with many resulting in total brake failures. A potential brake system failure should be a recall for obvious reasons.

The abs/traction control lights are coming back on again. The abs control module and the hydraulic control unit were replaced when the truck had 34,000 miles. Now it has close to 60,000 and it has started doing the same thing again. Talked to the dealer and they said it would be close to $2000 to do the repair this time since it isn't under warranty. I have seen many of this same problem in a lot of the ram or cummins forums and feel this is a known issue and should be recalled. You lose the abs and traction control when these are out but it is intermittent. Fortunately, I haven't had an accident from this so far but could very well see how it could cause an accident. When my traction control was out the truck fish tailed on a wet road.

Vehicle has massive sway when carrying payload in bed of truck. Not a problem pulling trailor with a load just when loaded in bed. Is not the death wobble associated with Dodge pickups have had checked by local mechanic and no problems found on suspension, swaybars, shocks, springs, ball joints or other issues. Is available for inspection. 1st time it happened was carrying a ton of pellets. occurs around 45-50 mph and is very dangerous on uneven pavement only way to stop it is to slow down. no warning lamps or messages. has happened 4-5 times but only with a load in bed of truck. need an email address to upload videos of problem

The service electronic brake system warning light and chime along with the traction control and ABS warning lights and the cruise control fails to work. This occurs frequently. The code is C0020-01 ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) Pump Motor ControlGeneral Electrical Failure I believe.

Hydraulic cont module/ abs module is constantly going in and out causing the abs/traction control to be disabled and non functional cruise control. Highly unsafe when towing heavy like I do most of the time.

ABS/Electronic brake indicator light on continuous, no Dodge repair facility cannot seem to fix issue. This should be a recall item.

ABS and traction control light appear and disappear rapidly while driving. Message pop up saying service electronic braking system. The lights don’t stay on they go out immediately after chime. Notice it will sometimes (more often than not) come on when hitting bumps in the road.

Started experiencing the ABS and Traction Control lights coming on, sometimes momentarily and very intermittently, sometimes (but less frequently) coming on for long periods of time. The frequency of these events has been increasing. A scan of the vehicle indicates I am receiving these this code... C0020-01 - ABS Pump Motor Control - General Electrical Failure This seems to be a very common complaint on my truck's make, model, and year. The result is I lose cruise control functionality, four-wheel drive, and seemingly the use of anti-lock breaks and traction control. It is very irritating as the warning lights and alarms often go on-off many times a minute, often going on for hours.

Will lose traction when departing from a stop in wet weather, or starting from a stop on a hill. Safety of myself and any or all occupants (wife,grandkids,friends) including other vehicles and their occupants around me whenever this truck is operated. Problem has been reproduced warning lights have been on constantly for over one year and are on still today. Refuse to take it to the dealer due to the fact I have to pay for diagnostics on a safety issue they refuse to recognize as a problem, and then they want to charge me over 1K to fix with no guarantee of solving the problem. Warning lamps are on chimes from dash Lights came on 8/1/2023 and remain on to this day.

My ABS and Traction Control lights go on and off while driving. It happens at different times and all different speeds.

The ABS light has come on in our pickup. We have no idea why it is on, or if it is something we need to worry about. I researched online and found that this has been a well documented problem with this year, make and model truck. Many complaints filed along with requests for a recall. We plan to use this pickup to pull our 5th wheel camper, so if this problem could cause issues with braking system, it could be very dangerous for us, as well as other drivers on the road.

Warning lights and audible warning for ABS and emergency braking along with traction control have been active for several months. Dealer determined the ABS control module is faulty and needs replaced. Current lead-time for the part is 7 months and cost to replace is $1,200. While the warning is active the cruise control and traction control are de-activated. During a recent rain storm I had to accelerate to avoid a merging vehicle on the freeway and the rear tires broke loose due to the lack of traction control and sent me into an uncontrolled fish-tail across 3 lanes. Fortunately traffic was light and everyone was able to avoid me and I got it under control and stopped just before hitting the freeway barrier wall.

The abs light and traction control light have been flickering for years. Now they are on solid. When I went to the dealer they said the part is under engineering review and they can’t fix it anyways. My truck now won’t pass safety inspections and can’t be reregistered

(I had to pay for parts and labor on ABS replacement that RAM neglects to issue a recall.) this costed me $1,252.11 April 16, 2023 — A Ram ABS module recall allegedly should have been issued by Fiat Chrysler because of problems in 2017-2018 Ram 2500 and 2017-2018 Ram 3500 trucks.

ABS and Traction Control light and alarms activated inside cab on dash. Vehicle taken to dealership and they stated the HCU (hydraulic control unit) needed to be replaced. At that time no parts were available and a time frame was not given because no one had the parts not even after market. After several months of driving vehicle with out ABS or Traction Control vehicle has been fixed.

The ABS lights and traction control lights alarm keeps flashing on and off at random intervals) on my 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 with 18,000 miles on it. When the ABS Light and traction control light come on intermittently it also disengaged the cruise controls. At first it was here and there or when I hit a bump or turning the steering wheel right or left. Thought it was possibly a wheel speed sensor. Checked code with scanner and got “ABS pump motor control-general electrical failure”. Thought the issue was the ABS module based on my scan. I tried to find the part I had to call all over the place due to supply chain issues. When I spoke to a parts person from a dealership I explained the issue and code. He stated that the General Electric code failure was the HCU and not the ABS module. It’s bad when your cruising at the speed limit of 70 mile an you and the cruise control quits working an you ned to react to the traffic but, my real concern is that the ABS won't work and could cause the truck wheels to lock-up during a panic/hard stop.

Radio keeps going out and turning off, and then comes back on with different stations. Next is my outside mirrors on both side , heater to mirrors don't come on at all to defrost

My ABS CONTROL MODULE is faulty and must be replaced only 57,000 miles on my diesal 2500 Ram. I’m aware of the class action lawsuit regarding this very issue. This issue needs to be addressed in a recall and Dodge needs to repair at their expense. My truck is at the dealership due to the ABS/TRACTION warning and the $2,600 cost to replace the faulty module.

Driving along my ABS and TCS light intermittenly appear. I looked into this briefly and have noticed that there is a larger issue in this case. There are thousands of Ram 2500 owners who are having this issue. It is a defective part from the manufacturer and should be covered under a recall. I do not have the funds at the moment to pay for these repairs, so in turn I will be driving with not traction control and no anti lock brake system.

The abs light blinks and sounder beeps on and off intermittently while driving and the cruise control does not stay functioning when this occurs.

The "Check Antilock Brake" message appears on the dashboard. The vehicle has been inspected by a mechanic who confirmed that it is either the supplementary brake fluid pump, or the brake pump control unit. Because of the intermittent nature of the problem, the manufacturer requires replacement of both expensive parts, as they do not know the exact problem. Because of the issue, the following vehicle features do not function: * anti-lock brake system * electronic stability control / traction control * cruise control * the holding of the rear brake on a hill until the operator accelerates (important in a standard transmission truck used for towing)

Bought secondhand at auction with low mileage. Had checked outbytrusted mechanic, all was well. Vehicle records showed brand new transmission on truck. Transmission slipped after service. From July 2022 to today (December 2023) have had to replace transmission FOUR TIMES at great expense. Went to dealership and found no recall notice, they are offering to purchase truck for $7500 cash. Purchase price was approximately $33000 plus about $15,000 in repairs/new transmission replacements and cost of rental vehicle in the thousands as this was a truck purchased for a business. Please issue a recall for this vehicle! This has put a huge dent in our small business and we still don’t have a functional truck!

I just bought a 2018 ram 2500 tradesman yesterday and had the abs light came on today and stayed on. Read comments online and was advise to report this issue as a safety issue and possible class action law suit potential. Seems like many people have the same issue even with a barely use vehicle.

I am getting an ABS sensor warning that was previously fixed 3 years ago under warranty but is now resurfacing. It is a constant alarm that prevents the cruise control from engaging.

My Anti Lock Brakes, Traction control and power steering have gone out repeatedly on this vehicle. The ABS pump HCU unit has failed at 8,433 miles. The same thing failed again at 12,924 miles. As of this complaint the same thing has failed again at 20,000 miles. I have not had it repaired because Ram will not guarantee the new part they put in is not defective, like the original part and the 2 other replacement ABS pump they installed which have failed. I don't drive my this truck that much because without the abs for which the break system on the truck was designed for I feel like it is a danger to myself and others.

I’ve just started experiencing the ABS light coming off and on. Did some research and find that this is a common problem wish my truck. Making appointment with dealer to have it checked out. Also about a year ago my radio had to be replaced as the screen was delaminating. Was told this also common problem but Ram was of no help. Had to buy new radio. Now my truck only has 32,000 miles on it and was under 30 when radio was replaced. But I’m second owner and ram would not warranty it. Now that I’m researching this site I’m seeing many problems that are consistent with mine. This should be a recall. The brakes and the radios. Think I’ll be trading this truck off.

The ABS/Traction Control light continually goes on and off. I took the vehicle into Tate Dodge Ram Service center in Glen Burnie, MD the first week of January 2023. They diagnosed the problem as the ABS Control Module and Hydraulic Control Units as bad. I was told that it would take 2 weeks to get the parts. I checked back with them 2 weeks later and the ETA had changed to March 16, 2023. I left the vehicle with them and checked back after March 16th, the ETA had then been changed to August 15, 2023. I picked the vehicle up from the service department and check on it August 15th. They had received on of the part, but the other one was scheduled to be delivered Sept 15, 2023. I contacted them again on Sept 18th, when I was told that the part would not be delivered until February 15, 2024 (13+ months). The lights continue to go on and off with a bell each time the light comes on, which is very distracting. It is unsettling to drive, not knowing if my brakes will work in an emergency or if the traction control will work when we get slippery road this winter.

Vehicles touch screen becomes unresponsive to touch and skips around screen turning items and censors on and off while driving. Seat heaters have turned on and off on boiling hot days, radio stations switch back and forth, volume has gone up and down, parking censors have been turned on and off while driving, radio has called random numbers and people while driving and while waiting for truck to prime and start. The problem has progressively gotten worse and skips around more with every day that passes. Vehicle has been to the dealership twice for this issue. The dealership said it has become a common problem with the touch screen for this vehicle and doesn't know why it's not a recall. This is a huge distraction and $1800 replacement which is not an easy random add to a budget, meaning most will deal with the distracted driving and probably cause and accident. The Traction Control and ABS/EBS sensors have failed on my truck. The dealer states that I need an HCU and ABS module in-order to correct the problem, however because the vehicle was made in Mexico the replacement parts are not available.

ABS LIGHT AND TRACK CONTROL IS ON AND THE TRUCK IS NOT GETTING TRACTION TO THE GROUND AND MY CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT WORKING WITH THE LIGHT ON.

The ABS system has been damaged since September 23, 2022 and I went to the dealer in West Palm Beach and the one in Ocala Fl and none of them have the part. And it's not just me, there are many people with the same problem.

The hydraulic control box has been bad in my 2018 Ram 2500 since October of 2022. I have tried to order the part through two different dealerships and three times now directly from Mopar, where my order was cancelled. We were originally told the part would be available in December, then March, now it’s August. The ABS and traction control warning lights ding on and off constantly, which is obviously annoying, but much worse- this is our family travel vehicle. We travel with two children and are frequently hauling heavy loads- a large trailer full horses or a 10,000 lb boat. Not having antilock brakes period is a danger, but hauling heavy loads puts us and the vehicles around us at risk.

Abs And Traction Control Light comes on and Chimes go off. you lose ABS and Traction Control and Cruse control , This is a know issue with 2018 Ram 2500 . Parts are hard to come by and are very expensive to repair , This safety concern and should be a Ram Recall . I have not taken it to the dealer yet but since it is out of warranty by time , I cant afford the high cost of the repair

The Uconnect display will randomly start rapidly selecting features causing great distraction to the driver and occupants. This includes automatically initiating the SOS call, dialing 911 on Bluetooth connected phones, turning on seat heaters, steering wheel heaters, activating the reverse camera display (the list of things it will do goes on for most of the features), all causing great distraction.

Abs lights on traction control lights on constantly off and on alarming. Making it un drivable Was told it's very common issue currently being investigated by nhtsa. Dealership confirmed HCU Pump control module. Costing me quoted $1750 for repairs and unknown when part comes in. Earliest is end of March. All the forums and videos I've seen that this is constantly happening and this needs to be recalled. I believe it already has on the 2019-2022 models. Safety concern with no abs or traction control. Also cruise control won't work.

First time brake system hydraulic control unit failed was at 17,000 miles, now have 76,000 and it has failed again. Abs system notification goes off and on constantly. Turbo actuator has failed at 76,000 miles. Check engine light and associated ecu codes are flashing. Rear view camera on tailgate goes out intermittently.

Bought a truck and drove around 420 miles home, within 24 hours of purchase warning lights and sounds went on and off over and over while driving. Took it to 3 mechanic shops, and all 3 said it was the same thing. All shops said it's been a problem for that truck, but there are no recalls on it yet. The warning lights are for the very important ABS brake system and traction control system. Having a hard time finding a mechanic shop that can get the parts to fix the problem.

The infotainment screen is malfunctioning. It makes phantom button presses. The most dangerous of all is when I am backing up. Instead of it showing the back-up camera it shows the bed camera. Very dangerous!!!!

while having tires changed 3 different times a lug nut stud has broken off. none of the times was the nut cross threaded or over tightened. the broken stud piece turned out of the nut by hand and seem to have had a manufacturing defect in the metal. i have the broken pieces still. if there is a problem with the way the studs were manufactured they all could break off causing an accident

ABS hydraulic assembly fails intermittently and randomly during driving causing the warning chime to sound repeatedly and results in distracted driving as well as degraded braking safety feature.

Electrical issue with the radio. It will change screen, turn the radio up and down. Turn and off. Makes SOS calls on its on. Turn the AC to hot in Arizona when it's already 100+ degrees out. All while driving.

The vehicle entertainment center has an issue where the screen is separating from the unit. This is a SAFETY ISSUE because the system CANNOT be turned off and the unit controls not just entertainment features such as radio, navigation, etc but also controls driver functions such as seat controls, heat & air, cell phone connections, etc. The screen is a touch screen unit meaning that the separation issue causes the system to think random areas on the screen are being touched due to road vibration. This causes the vehicle's computer systems to freak out and do things like randomly call people if a cell phone is connected, change seat settings, turn on air conditioning full blast and then switch to heat full blast, select random navigation points, etc. This is HUGELY distracting to the driver and UNSAFE. An internet search will indicate that this issue has been a known issue by many drivers of Dodge RAM vehicles where this particular entertainment system is installed. It needs to be recalled and fixed. These issues render the vehicle UNDRIVEABLE without risk of causing an accident.

-Anti lock brake system control module and traction control system failure with 32000 miles on truck.- In reading online forums they have admitted to knowing these parts were bad. Not sure why this hasn’t been made a recall issue given it involves the braking systems on a huge portion of these trucks sold.- Dealership states both parts are bad but excluded from warranty and extended warranty.- warning lights come on at the same time it locks the brakes up until warning lights go out. -Well at 70 mph on the highway and it locked my brakes up. I was just lucky it didn’t cause a wreck or roll over accident which it very easily could have.

We were involved in a single car crash, it’s been over a month and it’s still under investigation. The steering link was still intact. Is there another reason that would have caused us to loose control of the steering and crash?

I have owned this vehicle from the beginning. The first thing that happened 4 wheel drive module went out causing my cruise and abs system go down took to the dealer found out the module went down they replace it under warranty. Then a couple months later the abs system went down again to it to the dealer they said the abs passenger side sensor went bad replaced it under warranty. Drove for about 6months lost abs again the same sensor went bad they replaced again under warranty. Then about 6 months the abs went down again that's when they said they hcu and abs went bad replaced it did fine. Then Dec 21 the abs started acting up took to O'Reilly here in town read the code this one came up c0020-01. Call the dealer gave the code to them they said abs most likely went out. Truck is out of warranty now by 5,000 miles. This had been an recurring problem that seems like no one wants to fix it, I haven't taken back to the dealer yet.

The screen is delaminating for the navigation system. It has also affected the ability to use my phone hands free through Autoplay or bluetooth as the screen is malfunctioning

TRUCK SLIDES AFTER BEING PARKED . IT HAS SLID ANYWHERE FROM 1 FOOT WHILE I STOOD THERE WATCHING. TO SEVERAL FEET WHERE I HAD TO JUMP BACK INTO THE TRUCK TO STOP IT. I PURCHASED THE TRUCKS USED FROM A DEALERSHIP RICK HENDRICK IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC. IN MARCH OF 2019. IT ONLY HAD 20,000 MILES ON IT. ISSUE ONE WAS THEY SOLD IT TO ME WITH PARTS THAT VOID WARRANTY PER CHRYSLER AND THIS WAS NOT DISCLOSED UP FRONT. MAIN PROBLEM I HAD TO THREATEN TO SUE IN ORDER TO GET MONEY BACK TO GET TIRES WITH THE CORRECT CLASS RATING AS I COULD NOT TOW WITH IT. NEXT ISSUE WAS THEY WOULD NOT WARRANTY BAD WHEEL BEARING OR BREAKS AT 37000 MILES WHICH PER THEM WAS DUE TO A LIFT KIT. THERE IS NO LIFT KIT ON THE TRUCK BUT SOMEONE INSTALL A LEVELING KIT. DODGE ALSO PERFORMED A WARRANTY RECALL ON THE TRUCK AFTER IT WAS PURCHASE WHICH IS THE D TRUCK DRAG LINK. IT HAS SINCE COME UNDONE AND THERE IS NO CORRECT FIX FOR THIS OR SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. NO ONE ELSE WILL TOUCH THE ISSUE OR RESOLVE IT WHEN CHECKING ALIGNMENT. NOW MY STEERING WHEEL IS WAY OFF BY ROUGHLY 30 DEGREE FROM CENTER AND THE TRUCK IS HARD TO DRIVE ON HIGHWAY. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO HAVE DODGE REDO THIS WORK AND NOW THEY REFUSE TO DO IT AND WANT ME TO GO FOR A WEEK WITHOUT MY TRUCK WHICH I CAN NOT DO WHILE THEY INVESTIGATE AND FIGURE OUR WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. CURRENTLY THEY ARE NOT OFFERING ME ANOTHER VEHICLE TO DRIVE. I'VE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO OTHER AUTO REPAIR PLACE AND NO ONE WILL WORK ON THIS DUE TO RECALL. DODGE HAS TO DO THIS AND MAKE IT RIGHT ITS NOT MY FAULT AND THE TRUCK IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE AS I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DRIVE FOR WORK. BACK UP CAMERA SCREEN IS TOO DARK, EVEN ON THE LIGHTEST CONTROL SETTING. I'VE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO TWO DEALERSHIPS AND OPENED A COMPLAINT WITH THE COMPANY'S CUSTOMER CARE. I'VE BEEN TOLD THE CAMERA IS OPERATING NORMAL OR AN ADDITIONAL CAMERA SHOULD BE INSTALLED AT MY EXPENSE (THIS CAMERA WOULD ONLY DISPLAY THE TRUCK BED) PLUS MY TRUCK IS NOT EQUIPPED FOR THIS FEATURE

CARPLAY STOPS WORKING AT RANDOM. WAS WORKING FINE, THEN STOPS. ONLY CHARGES PHONE FOR A SECOND. THEN STOPS ALTOGETHER. WE'VE BOUGHT SEVERAL NEW CHARGES, APPLE NAME BRAND, TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT PHONES & IT STILL ISN'T WORKING.

SIRIUS XM TRAVEL LINK CONSTANTLY PUSHES NOTIFICATIONS TO THE RADIO SCREEN WHICH MAKES THE DRIVER TALE THEIR EYES OFF OF THE ROAD TO CLEAR THE NOTIFICATION. SIRIUS XM ADDS THE SERVICE TO VEHICLES AT NO CHARGE WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE CONSUMER TO ACCEPT OR DENY THE SERVICE AND TAKES AWAY THE ABILITY FOR YOU TO REQUEST THE SERVICE BE TURNED OFF. I HAVE MADE PHONE CALLS AND REQUESTS TO HAVE THE DISTRACTING SERVICE TURNED OFF AND THEY REFUSE SAYING THAT BECAUSE IT HAS NO CHARGE THEY CAN'T TURN OFF THE SERVICE.

NOW AT 42 K ITS DOING IT MORE OFTEN. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND FRANK AT VACAVILLE DODGE TELLS ME ITS OUT OF WARRANTY, WHEN I HAD ALREADY SEEN THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. DODGE IS KNOWINGLY INSTALLING 18' SPARE TIRES AND WHEELS ON HD PICKUPS WHERE THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY HAS 20 WHEELS EVEN THOUGH THE CUSTOMER IS PAYING FOR A FULL SIZE SPARE TIRE. THIS IS DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY ON A HEAVY DUTY PICK UP BUT ALSO AMOUNT TO FRAUD IN THAT CUSTOMERS ARE PAYING FOR 20" WHEELS SPARE AND GETTING AN 18"

VIBRATION AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. CAN BE FELT AND NOTICED IN STEERING WHEEL. FEELS LIKE A SHAKING OF THE VEHICLE. HAPPENS ON DIFFERENT ROAD SURFACES (ASPHALT VS CONCRETE) UPGRADES, DOWNGRADES, FLAT, LEFT TURN'S RIGHT TURNS STRAIGHTAWAYS. TYPICALLY STARTS AT 55 MPH TO 80 MPH. STILL NOTICEABLE UNDER HEAVY OR LIGHT LOADS AND EVEN EMPTY.

AFTER BUYING THIS VEHICLE I NOTICED THAT THE PLASTIC TRIM AROUND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS COCKED TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE. IS IT A SAFETY ISSUE NO BUT IT IS AN APPEARANCE ISSUE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT ON 1/21/19. THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED IT'S NOT FIXED. WAS TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. TOOK IT IN ON 3/7/19 SAID THEY ADJUSTED THE STEERING WHEEL COVER. THAT'S NOT WHAT IS COCKED.

I'M HAVING ISSUE WITH CONSTANT WEATHER ALERT POP UPS ON THE SCREEN IN THE CENTER OF THE CAB. THIS IS VERY DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING AND IT FORCES YOU TO MANUALLY CLOSE THE POP UP TO RETURN TO THE SCREEN. THE FCA BASED UCONNECT SYSTEM WITH THE 5 YEAR SIRIUSXM TRAVEL LINK SUBSCRIPTION HAS A FATAL SOFTWARE ERROR WITH NO SOLUTION. IT FORCES PERSISTENT "WEATHER UPDATES", EVERY COUPLE OF MINUTES, WHICH ARE A FULL SCREEN BLOCKING NOTIFICATIONS REQUIRING THE DRIVER TO PHYSICALLY INTERACT WITH THE SCREEN TO REGAIN ACESS. THESE APPEAR ON ANY SCREEN: GPS, RADIO, BACKUP CAMERA ETC. AND WILL NOT STOP. THERE IS NO MENU CONTROL TO AFFECT THE PROBLEM, NO ABILITY FOR DEALER TO AFFECT, SIRIUS XM WILL NOT CANCEL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OR DEMANDS. THIS FLAW CAUSES TERRIBLE DISTRACTION FROM DRIVING RANDOMLY AND PERSISTENTLY AND RENDERS OTHERWISE IMPORTANT SYSTEMS USELESS.
