Truck totally destroyed by spontaneous fire, suspected to be related to short in radio or dashboard. Assessment done by fire department and truck paid off by Progressive Insurance but no compensation for contents of truck. Truck in driveway, not running and fire damaged adjacent vehicle at cost of $7000 paid by vehicle owner and USAA insurance.
DURING FUELING WITH THE VEHICLE STATIONARY, FUEL WILL SPILL OUT OF SPOUT WHEN TANK IS FULL AS FUEL DISPENSER SHUTS OFF. THIS HAPPENS ANY TIME VEHICLE IS FUELED.

WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH WITH A LOAD IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK AND TOWING A TRAILER, THE VEHICLE ENGINE STOPPED, ELIMINATING POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. AFTE HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CP$ HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP HAD DISCINTEGRATED.

I FILED A CLAIM WITH FCA REGARDING THE ABILITY TO SURRENDER MY VEHICLE UNDER THE CONSENT ORDER REACHED WITH FCA IN JULY 2015 . I SUBMITTED MY CLAIM WITH THEM ON 10/1/2015. I BEEN GIVEN NOTHING BUT A RUN AROUND. I NOTIFIED FCA ON 9/04/2015 REGARDING MY DESIRE TO BE APART OF THE RECALL PROCESS. I HAVE SUBMITTED ALL DOCUMENTS REQUESTED. I CALLED ON 10/27/2015 AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FCA HAD MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THE RECALL PROCESS AND THAT THERE WAS NO CURRENT SOLUTION. MY LAST CONTACT WAS ON 11/2/2015 WHEN I WAS ASKED FOR A CURRENT PAY OFF WHICH I RESPONDED ON 11/3/2015. I JUST RECEIVED LAST WEEK THE RECALL NOTICE FOR THE FUEL HEATER ISSUE, BUT NOTHING ON THE STEERING RECALL. A DODGE DEALER THAT I WAS TO WORK WITH IN HUNTINGTON BEACH CA. WHICH I BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE BECAUSE THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT I SPOKE WITH ON 10/1/2015 STATED THAT I SHOULD NOT DRIVE MY VEHICLE MY DODGE RAM IF I AM CONCERNED WITH MY PERSONNEL SAFETY, IS NOW IS PRESENTING ISSUES WITH ME REGARDING THE RECALL PROCESS AS WELL AS WITH THE 2 VEHICLES I PURCHASED ON 10/4/2015. I LOST THE USE OF THE ADDITIONAL INCENTIVE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE OFFERED. THE VALUE OF MY VEHICLE CONTINUES TO DECLINE, AND I NOW REQUIRED TO MAKE AN ADDITIONAL PAYMENT ON A LOAN FOR A VEHICLE I NOT DRIVING, AM NOT RECEIVING THE FULL RETAIL VALUE, AND AM BEING SUBJECTED TO POOR TREATMENT BY A PRIVATE DEALERSHIP WHO STATES THAT THEY HAD NO INVOLVEMENT WITH THE INITIAL SALE OF THE VEHICLE. 2 MONTHS AFTER THE FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRED, THE DIESEL FUEL PUMP STARTED TO LEAK DIESEL ALL OVER THE GROUND. I NOTICED THE LEAK ON THE ROAD OR THE DRIVEWAY, WHERE I PARKED THE TRUCK. AFTER ABOUT A WEEK I TOOK IT TO A GARAGE. THE TRUCK WAS STILL ABLE TO BE DRIVEN BECAUSE IT HAD NOT COMPLETELY BLOWN THE SEAL YET. HOWEVER, FUEL WAS LEAKING OUT OF IT CAUSING A SERIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL AND FIRE HAZARD. THIS IS HAPPENING SO FREQUENTLY IN THESE TRUCKS THAT THE PART, THAT COST $5800.00, IS ON SERIOUS BACK ORDER WITH DODGE. IT IS SO FAR BACK ORDERED THAT I HAD TO HAVE THIS PART REPLACED WITH AN AFTERMARKET PUMP. I CALLED DODGE AND ALSO EMAILED THEM TWICE, BUT THEY STONEWALLED ME AND REFUSED TO HELP OR GET ME ANYONE HIGHER THAN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS (NOT EVEN A MANAGER) TO DISCUSS HAVING THEM COVER THIS EXPENSIVE PART THAT SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE FOR A LOT OF DODGE OWNERS. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL WITH DODGE SINCE IT LEAKS DIESEL AND IS A HAZARD.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.

RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE ON DECEMBER 1, 2014 STATING THAT THE DIESEL FUEL HEATER ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR MAY OVERHEAT AND CAUSE A FUEL LEAK. THE DIESEL FUEL HEATER HOUSING AT THE FUEL HEATER ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR MAY OVERHEAT, LEADING TO THE FAILURE OF THE O-RINGS THAT SEAL THE MALE ELECTRICAL TERMINALS IN THE DIESEL FUEL FILTER/HEATER ASSEMBLY. A LEAKING DIESEL FUEL FILTER/HEATER COULD CAUSE UNDERHOOD SMOKE AND/OR AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE. AS OF TODAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2015 THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE PER THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER HAS CONFIRMED AS SUCH. SINCE THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE, THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME TO INSPECT IT FOR THE PROBLEM. I DON'T FEEL THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE A RECALLED VEHICLE INSPECTED FOR THE RECALL NOR SHOULD I HAVE TO WAIT THREE MONTHS OR MORE FOR A SOLUTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER. ALSO, I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT 82 DAYS AFTER THE DATE ON THE RECALL NOTICE THERE IS NO REMEDY. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED TO WORK, NOT SIT IN THE YARD. WE HAVE NO OTHER VEHICLE TO USE IN PLACE OF IT. IF DODGE DOES NOT HAVE ANY DIESEL FUEL FILTER/HEATER ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS TO REPLACE THE RECALLED ONES, THEY NEED TO GET THEIR PRIORITIES IN ORDER AS EXISTING CUSTOMERS SHOULD COME BEFORE POTENTIAL NEW CUSTOMERS. I HAVE THE 6.7 CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINE. WHILE STOPPED AND WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING ON AND WHILE THE TRUCK IS PERFORMING THE REGENERATION PROCESS RAW FUEL AND EXHAUST FUMES ENTER THE CAB OF THE TRUCK FORCING ME TO ROLL MY WINDOWS DOWN. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO GET LIGHTHEADED IF I DON'T ROLL MY WINDOW DOWN IN TIME. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE EVERY TWO WEEKS TO ME(EACH TIME THE ABOVE CONDITIONS ARE MET). PUTTING THE AIR CONDITIONING ON RECIRCULATE WILL HELP. HOWEVER RECIRCULATE WILL NOT WORK FOR THE HEATER OR WINDOW DEFROSTER WHICH FURTHER IMPAIRS MY ABILITY TO DRIVE.
