2014 ram ProMaster traveling at approximately 10 miles an hour customer states felt like it ran over Boulder vehicle then was towed to shop upon inspection. I found a transmission mount on the driver side completely disconnected. All bolts removed must have vibrate out huge safety issue caused damage to heater hoses CV axles transmission, oil pan and shifter cable along with ground strap.

I was mailed a recall notice from the manufacture a while back and was going to need to get the work completed in order to renew my CA registration. A smog cert was also needed for the renewal. I took my vehicle to McPeeks Dodge/Ram for the recall on 10/24/24. On 11/21/24 I went to get my vehicle smog checked. The smog station said that I had passed the emissions portion, but some of the monitors were still in the "not ready" state, and he could not pass the vehicle until all monitors were ready. He said that it was likely related to the recall work that was done at the dealership. I then contacted the dealership's service dept and they said that the vehicle needed to be driven a certain amount and a certain way, and for approximately $700.00 they could have one of their technicians drive it, to get it out of its current state, but they could not guarantee that it would get fixed, so I declined their offer. They explained that it needed to be driven a certain way and that it was "pretty easy", so I drove it exactly how they explained it, several times and it is still in its "not ready" state. Frustrated, since the dealership never explained this to me before the recall work was done, I reached out to Ram, but they would never return my call. After about 3 weeks of almost daily calls, I spoke to a person (who would not reveal their name of position with the company) and they said that because of the year of the vehicle and because I did not want the dealership to "attempt" to fix it, that they couldn't help me with this. Sorry, but I refuse to give my money to fix a manufacture's recall issue. This is my work vehicle that allows me to provide for my family. Please assist me in resolving this issue or please refer me to somebody that can. Thank You.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram Promaster 1500. The contact stated that water was leaking from the roof into the cabin of the vehicle and engine compartment, causing several electrical failures. The contact stated that the vehicle would only drive in LIMP Mode. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the oil pressure sensor, transmission sensor, torque converter pressure sensor, and hydraulic pressure sensors were faulty. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 61,600.

My 2014 Ram Promaster 2500 experienced a cooling fan seizure overheat that almost resulted in a fire similar to recall VB2 / NHTSA 19V-818 which ONLY applies effects to 2015-2018 models. But clearly this same issue happened to me as the plastic shroud smoked and melted and would've started a fire if I hadn't noticed it starting up in the driveway. Please investigate further and I hope this report saves 2014 owners from significant damage like mine had occur.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram Promaster 3500. The contact stated while driving at slow speeds, the front-end locked up. The contact noticed that the gear shifter was in reverse. The engine was in the undercarriage. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified, and an engineer inspected the vehicle however, declined to provide a service report. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM PROMASTER 2500 CARGO VAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SWITCH THAT ENGAGED THE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM TO DEACTIVATE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH (TO KEEP THE CARGO VAN FROM CATCHING ON FIRE) FAILED. THE SWITCH ENGAGED INDEPENDENTLY SEVERAL TIMES, CAUSING THE CARGO VAN TO DEACTIVATE WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED A FAILURE WITH THE LOW AND HIGH BEAM SWITCH. WHILE THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SWITCH FROM LOW TO HIGH BEAM LIGHTING, THE SWITCH ENGAGED THE TURN SIGNAL. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE IN THE REAR BELIEVED THAT THE CONTACT WAS TURNING RIGHT, BUT INSTEAD THE CONTACT WAS MOVING FORWARD. THE VEHICLE IN THE REAR CRASHED INTO THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AREA OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN NUMEROUS TIMES TO HUNTINGTON JEEP CHRYSLER, DODGE, RAM (120 EAST JERICHO TURNPIKE, HUNTINGTON NY 11743, PHONE (631) 673-0270) FOR THE ELECTRICAL FAILURES; HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CARGO VAN WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE AND THE FRONT SUSPENSION FAILED. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED, A KNOCKING NOISE WAS HEARD AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SUSPENSION EXHIBITED A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE WHILE TURNING. THE HUNTINGTON DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE VALVE ARMS AND THE FRONT SUSPENSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ENGINE VALVE ARMS AND FRONT SUSPENSION WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.

WHEN WE DROVE 2014 RAM PROMASTER OFF THE LOT THE "CHECK BACK DOOR" LIGHT WAS ON AND BACK DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH PROPERLY. DEALER ORDERED NEW LATCH AND REPLACED IT TWICE, BUT DOOR STILL DOES NOT ALWAYS LATCH. AT APPROXIMATELY 15K MILES, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND 2014 RAM PROMASTER WENT INTO LIMP MODE. TOOK TO DEALER (TATE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, 5629 BUCKEYSTOWN PIKE, FREDERICK, MD), WHERE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THIS DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEM WITH ENGINE LIGHT/LIMP MODE. WHILE IN LIMP MODE, RPMS DID NOT DROP BELOW 1500, MAKING STOPPING AND CONTROL OF VEHICLE DIFFICULT, AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT TRAVEL ABOVE 45 MPH, MAKING HIGHWAY TRAVEL DANGEROUS. THE SECOND TIME WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE MAIN COMPUTER/PCM, BUT SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED US, "I WOULDN'T TAKE THIS VAN ON LONG TRIPS", AS HE STILL WASN'T SURE THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM, OR THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. AT APPROXIMATELY 16K MILES, WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE IN THE ENGINE, TOOK VAN BACK TO DEALER (TATE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF FREDERICK, MD), AND WERE TOLD THAT IT HAD A BROKEN FLY WHEEL. AFTER REPAIR, SEAT BELT AND BATTERY LIGHTS REMAINED ON. DEALER REPLACED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. AT 18K MILES, WE HEARD A NOISE IN THE ENGINE, DEALER INDICATES THAT IDLER PULLEY HAS FAILED. FOR EACH OF THESE REPAIRS, DEALER HAS KEPT VAN FOR 2-3 WEEKS. DEALER ADVISED US AGAIN NOT TO DRIVE VEHICLE ON "LONG TRIPS", BUT TO STAY LOCAL. THEY DID NOT ADVISE AS TO WHEN THE VEHICLE MAY BE SAFE TO DRIVE NORMALLY.

FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, I HAVE SMELLED A COOLANT LEAK. THE RADIATOR COOLING FANS HAVE RUN EXCESSIVELY AND INTERMITTENTLY... EVEN AT BELOW ZERO TEMPERATURES.THEY HAVE REPLACED MY RADIATOR TWICE, COOLING FANS AND CONTROL MODULE...MOST RECENTLY THE HEAD GASKET WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF ANOTHER $2400.00 AND I STILL HAVE LEAKAGE ISSUES. THE COOLANT RESERVOIR NEEDS TO BE REFILLED EVERY TIME I GO IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH DODGE OF BURNSVILLE, MN ON 12/29/16 TO HOPEFULLY FIND OUT WHERE THE LEAK(S) IS/ARE. THEY HAVE TOLD ME SO MANY DIFFERENT STORIES AS TO WHY I AM SMELLING COOLANT THAT I DON'T REALLY TRUST THAT THEY ARE BEING TRUTHFUL. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SO MANY TIMES FOR THIS....AND I HAVE LOST SO MANY DAYS WORK AS A RESULT. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I NEED YOUR HELP. THIS VEHICLE WOULD BE CONSIDERED A LEMON UNDER MN LAW, EXCEPT THAT IT IS A CARGO VAN. ADDITIONALLY, MY HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES HAVE BEEN REPLACED...TWICE ON ONE SIDE AND ONCE ON THE LEFT UNDER MY ORIGINAL WARRANTY....AND NOW BOTH HAVE MOISTURE IN THEM AGAIN. I HAVE REPLACED OVER 15 LOW BEAM BULBS IN THE 2 3/4 YEARS THAT I HAVE OWNED IT. I OWN NUMEROUS OTHER VEHICLES WITH OVER 100,000 MILES AND HAVE NEVER REPLACED A BULB. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME? TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM PROMASTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, A LOUD SQUEAKY NOISE EMITTED FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE ENGINE WAS OPERABLE, A STRONG ODOR OF COOLANT CIRCULATED INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO COOLANT VISIBLE ON THE GROUND. ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY AND MISFIRED. AFTER TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.

I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AT 500 MILES THE BRAKES STARTED SQUEEZING, NUMEROUS TRIPS TO DEALER THEY SAY THERE MAY BE A RECALL AND WILL CONTACT ME NEVER HEARD BACK , REPLACE BRAKES AND ROTORS AT 38K MILES , NOW 70K MILES BRAKES AND ROTORS WORN OUT AGAIN, STOPPING EVERY THING ALWAYS SQUEALS EVEN WHEN NEW , 2ND LAY THERE SOME SORT OF SHORT SOME TIMES ALL POWER ON RADIO ETC GOES OFF BY IT SELF THAN COMES BACK ON AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES 3RD I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE BODY RUSTING AT 2500 MILES I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WOULD NOT BY SUCH ANOTHER CHEAP VECHILE NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND ONE TO ANYONE ELSE 4TH THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME TIME OF LEAK IN MY FLUIDS , BRAKES , POWER STEERING , RADIATIOR FLUID NOT SURE WHERE IT'S GOING BUT NOT ON THE GROUND WHEN YOU STAND OUTSIDE VEHICLE YOU CAN SMELL SOMETHING BURNING THIS HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS MOVING AND STATIONARY , THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ON GOING THING WITH NO END IN SITE PLEASE HELP THANK YOU THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE THE FIRST 500 MILES.

THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT KEEPS BURNING PARTS OUT LIKE LIGHT BULBS, ENGINE COIL PACKS, & DASH COMPONENTS. THE SUSPENSION IN THE REAR SQUEEKS SO BADLY THAT YOU HAVE TO WEAR EAR PLUGS TO DRIVE IT. THE ENGINE SMELLS OF ANTIFREEZE LEAKING ALL THE TIME AND THE BREAKS SQUEAL AND GRIND... OUR DEALER TRIES TO FIX THINGS BUT KEEPS TELLING US THAT DODGE HAS NOT COME UP WITH A FIX FOR MY PROBLEMS AS OF YET. DEALER REFUSES TO DOCUMENT REPAIR ATTEMPS AND GIVES US NO PAPERWORK!

I PURCHASED THE PROMASTER ON 7/17, ON 7/20 THE "REAR DOOR OPEN" MESSAGE SHOWED UP ON THE DASH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND LEFT IT THERE. AS OF TODAY 7/29 IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT SAFFORD DODGE IN WARRENTON, VA, THE "BCM", BASIC CONTROL MODULE IS THE PROBLEM. DODGE HAS SENT TWO REGIONAL TECHNICIANS TO TRY TO SOLVE THE ISSUE WHICH IS SOFTWARE RELATED. AFTER THE "REAR DOOR OPEN" MESSAGE WAS FIXED AN "ABS" MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH. THAT WAS RESOLVED (SO THEY SAY) AND NOW THE BCM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE MIDDLE SEAT OF THE DUAL PASSENGER SEAT CONFIGURATION. THEY HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO REPROGRAM THE BCM BUT IT IS NOT WORKING. *JS
