My car will not reverse when put into reverse. No symptoms prior or any warning signs. Car will roll backwards as if in neutral and the engine will rev to high rpm. Engine codes P0792 and P0736 are present after issue arised. I have found another safety recall that describes my issue exactly with regards to 2019-2021 Ram Promasters. My car 2014 Ram Promaster has the same power train as what is listed in the safety recall [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2014 ram ProMaster traveling at approximately 10 miles an hour customer states felt like it ran over Boulder vehicle then was towed to shop upon inspection. I found a transmission mount on the driver side completely disconnected. All bolts removed must have vibrate out huge safety issue caused damage to heater hoses CV axles transmission, oil pan and shifter cable along with ground strap.

The contact stated that the vehicle would only drive in LIMP Mode. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the oil pressure sensor, transmission sensor, torque converter pressure sensor, and hydraulic pressure sensors were faulty. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 61,600.

WAS DRIVING DOWN A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET AND STOPPED TO BACK INTO A DRIVEWAY WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING BRACKET THAT HAS FOUR BOLTS HOLDING THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION BROKE OFF. LEAVING MY TRANSMISSION JUST INCHES FROM THE GROUND. THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. THERE IS NO DESIGN TO CATCH OR HOLD THE TRANSMISSION IN ITS PLACE. I AM VERY BLESSED THAT THIS HAPPENED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY, THERE COULD'VE BEEN QUITE A BIT OF DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND POSSIBLY OTHERS.

ON JANUARY 23, 2020 RAM ISSUED A RECALL FOR A FAULTY TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE FOR THE PROMASTER. AS OF TODAY, NEARLY 6 MONTHS LATER, THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE. REPEATED CALLS TO THE DEALERSHIP HAS INDICATED THIS IS A NATIONWIDE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID IT WOULD LIKELY BE SEVERAL MORE MONTHS AT THE EARLIEST BEFORE THEY HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK. THE MOPAR RECALL WEBSITE INDICATES PARTS ARE AVAILABLE BUT THIS IS CLEARLY NOT TRUE. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING A SAFETY RECALL IF IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO FIX IT? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 RAM PROMASTER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE "SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND BACK TO DRIVE" WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF THE ROADWAY. ON SOME OCCASIONS, SHIFTING THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND BACK INTO DRIVE FAILED TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROBERT LOEHR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM SRT AND FIAT (567 E MAIN ST, CARTERSVILLE, GA 30121, (770) 382-5885) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 68044969. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,999.

TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILURE AT 78K MILES. THE TRANSMISSION IS A TOTAL LOSS . I WAS TOLD FCA HAS A 2K "CORE CHARGE" FOR THE TRANSMISSION, THEY KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG

WHEN WE DROVE 2014 RAM PROMASTER OFF THE LOT THE "CHECK BACK DOOR" LIGHT WAS ON AND BACK DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH PROPERLY. DEALER ORDERED NEW LATCH AND REPLACED IT TWICE, BUT DOOR STILL DOES NOT ALWAYS LATCH. AT APPROXIMATELY 15K MILES, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND 2014 RAM PROMASTER WENT INTO LIMP MODE. TOOK TO DEALER (TATE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, 5629 BUCKEYSTOWN PIKE, FREDERICK, MD), WHERE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THIS DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEM WITH ENGINE LIGHT/LIMP MODE. WHILE IN LIMP MODE, RPMS DID NOT DROP BELOW 1500, MAKING STOPPING AND CONTROL OF VEHICLE DIFFICULT, AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT TRAVEL ABOVE 45 MPH, MAKING HIGHWAY TRAVEL DANGEROUS. THE SECOND TIME WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE MAIN COMPUTER/PCM, BUT SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED US, "I WOULDN'T TAKE THIS VAN ON LONG TRIPS", AS HE STILL WASN'T SURE THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM, OR THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. AT APPROXIMATELY 16K MILES, WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE IN THE ENGINE, TOOK VAN BACK TO DEALER (TATE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF FREDERICK, MD), AND WERE TOLD THAT IT HAD A BROKEN FLY WHEEL. AFTER REPAIR, SEAT BELT AND BATTERY LIGHTS REMAINED ON. DEALER REPLACED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. AT 18K MILES, WE HEARD A NOISE IN THE ENGINE, DEALER INDICATES THAT IDLER PULLEY HAS FAILED. FOR EACH OF THESE REPAIRS, DEALER HAS KEPT VAN FOR 2-3 WEEKS. DEALER ADVISED US AGAIN NOT TO DRIVE VEHICLE ON "LONG TRIPS", BUT TO STAY LOCAL. THEY DID NOT ADVISE AS TO WHEN THE VEHICLE MAY BE SAFE TO DRIVE NORMALLY.

DRIVING 68 MPH ON INTERSTATE & TRANSMISSION GOES INTO NEUTRAL WITH NO WARNING. DASH LIGHTS SAY "SERVICETRANSMISSION" AND ENGINE LIGHT ON! COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD, WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR. FOUND THAT BY USING OBD2 CODE READER AND RESETTING CODES, TURNING ENGINE OFF THEN BACK ON, IT WILL DRIVE NORMALLY AGAIN. HAPPENS RANDOMLY. IT MAY PERFORM NORMALLY FOR 5 MILES OR 5000 MILES BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. TRANSMISSION PERFORMS PERFECTLY BETWEEN OCCURRENCES. VEHICLE TAKEN TO 4 DIFFERENT DEALERS. THEY WANT TO REPLACE EVERY SENSOR/PART THAT CAME UP IN CODES, AND WE DID PAY TO HAVE 2 REPLACED AND IT'S STILL OCCURRING. WE THINK IT'S A VOLTAGE /GROUND ISSUE BUT SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ACT LIKE THEY DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT. WE HAD TO COAST OFF AND MERGE BACK ON I 85 BY ATLANTA, GA 6 TIMES JUST ABOUT GETTING RUN OVER BY HEAVY TRAFFIC. WE HAVE CALLED FCA AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THERE WAS A WIRING HARNESS RECALL FOR PROMASTERS IN 2014 BUT THEY SAY OUR VEHICLE ISN'T ON LIST. WE HAVE LOST $10,000 REVENUE FOR DECEMBER AND ARE OUT ABOUT $1800 FOR PARTS WE DIDN'T NEED. NONE OF THE RAM BUSINESS LINK SERVICE DEPT. KNOW HOW TO FIX VEHICLE. WE CALLED RAM COMPLAINT LINE AND THEY OFFERED NO ADVICE. THIS PROBLEM PUTS OURSELVES AND OTHER DRIVERS IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN WE HAVE TO COAST OFF INTERSTATE OR PULL OFF HIGHWAYS WITH NO SHOULDERS OR IN CONSTRUCTION ZONES.

IN MOTION, VEHICLE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT TO HIGHER GEAR. SPEED FOR MERGING ONTO 45MPH ROAD WAS LIMITED TO 25 OR 30. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 12,000 MILES ON IT. DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED REPAIR BY REBUILDING TRANSMISSION BUT WHEN VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN PROBLEM REMAINED.

THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR PRODUCE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.

THE VAN WOULD JUMP OUT OF 6TH GEAR WHILE DRIVING, IT WOULD REQUIRE A RESTART TO RESET THE VAN SO IT WOULD GO INTO GEAR AGAIN. THIS VAN IS AN AUTOMATED/MANUAL TRANSMISSION A RESTART REQUIRES THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED WHILE STARTING. THIS SITUATION REQUIRED THAT I MANAGE TO GET OFF TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD SO NOT TO BE IN HARMS WAY. IT WAS A CHALLENGE TO GET OFF THE ROADWAY, THERE WAS NO WARNING OF WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WOULD JUMP OUT OF GEAR. I TOOK THE VAN IN FOR REPAIR AND SOME CLUTCH PARTS WERE REPLACED; THAT DID NOT STOP THE JUMP OUT OF GEAR PROBLEM. NOW IT WOULD STILL JUMP OUT OF 6TH GEAR, BUT SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL THEN BACK TO GEAR THE VAN WOULD GO AGAIN. IT DID NOT NEED A RESTART TO KEEP MOVING BUT STILL VERY DANGEROUS TO JUMP OUT OF GEAR ON A HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES IN WHICH THEY WOULD KEEP IT A WEEK OR 2 ONLY TO TELL ME THERE WERE NO CODES AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE MY PROBLEM. FINALLY REVERSE GEAR BROKE, INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION THE DEALER REBUILT MINE WITH NEW REVERSE GEARS. IT MADE NO IMPROVEMENT TO MY JUMP OUT OF 6TH GEAR PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER THAT COULD NOT FIND MY PROBLEM; I EVEN TOOK THE SERVICE MANAGER FOR A RIDE IN WHICH IT JUMPED OUT OF GEAR 2 TIMES. HE SAID TO TAKE IT ELSEWHERE AS HE COULD NOT FIX IT. IT BROKE DOWN LATER THAT NIGHT AND WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO GEAR OR EVEN RESTART; IT WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER. THEY MADE IT START, REPLACED $1847 WORTH OF PARTS THAT MADE NO CHANGE ON THE JUMP OUT OF GEAR PROBLEM. THE FACTORY TECH CAME TO THAT SHOP AND SAID TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THAT DEALER REFUSED TO DO THAT UNDER WARRANTY. THE VAN IS NOW BACK AT THE DEALER THAT REBUILT THE TRANS, THEY STATE TRANS IS FINE IT MUST BE SOMETHING ELECTRIC. THESE PROBLEMS START DEC 2015, VAN HAS BEEN COMPLETELY OUT OF SERVICE SINCE MAY 2016. THIS IS FEB 2017
