Defect Description
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023 Thomas Built Buses SAF-T-LINER C2 JOULEY school buses. An insufficient connection in the battery pack may cause the battery management system to shut down unexpectedly.
Safety Consequence
An unexpected shut down can result in a sudden loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the battery pack, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-960.
