Defect Description

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2022-2023 DC (Legend) dump trucks. The upper hoist cylinder mounting pin may fail.

Safety Consequence

A pin failure can allow the hoist to fall, increasing the risk of injury. In addition, the hoist cylinder can disconnect from the vehicle, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

The remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters were mailed June 6, 2024. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available, anticipated late January 2026.
