The brake lights are illuminated when I’m not breaking, and when I do break, the brake lights will go off and I cannot set my cruise control because of it.
While driving the car doesn’t switch gear properly. The car made a stalling noise and as soon as I remove my foot from the gas pedal it’s automatically braking.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that she was calling on behalf of her deceased son. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing failures with the electrical system. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the brake lights would fail to illuminate while depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that her son had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who had informed him that the brakes needed to be replaced; however, the vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.

I'VE RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS CAR AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP ILLUMINATING WHEN NOT PRESSED AND HAS DESTROYED TWO BRAND NEW SETS OF ROTORS IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS DUE TO HOT SPOTS AND STRESS FRACTURES. I HAVE NOTICED IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME WHETHER I'M DOING CITY OR COUNTRY DRIVING. ALSO THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT WILL FAIL TO LIGHT UP SOME OF THE TIMES WHENEVER I'M ONLY PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR BUT IT WILL REFUSE TO LIGHT UP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES WILL AUTOMATICALLY START ON THERE OWN. THIS WILL LAST ABOUT 15 SECONDS. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE A WEEK. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST YEAR. WHEN BROUGHT INTO A MECHANIC THEY CANT HELP.

KHOURY THEN STATED JUNK PEOPLE POST ON WEBSITES SO I TOLD HIM NHTSA IS A OFFICIAL SITE BUT HE WOULDN'T LISTEN AND STATED NO PAY NO FIX BUT WE'LL REPAIR THE BREAK LAMP ONLY SO I LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM HOPING THE MECHANICS WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING, I WENT TO MY OFFICE AND PRINTED OUT NHTSA SAFETY ISSUES & RECALLS AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TRYED TO SHOW MR KHOURY BUT HE REFUSED TO READ IT. WE LEFT AGAIN THEN WAS CONTACTED LATER SAYING THE CAR WAS READY AND ON MY WAY HOME IT REPEATED THE SAME THING IT DID WHICH LED TO THE RECALL I CALLED THE DEALER AND KHOURY SAID YOU DIDN'T WANNA PAY

I HAVE SEEN WHERE OTHER SATURNS, HAVE A FUEL LEAK RELATING TO THE FUEL PUMP FUEL LINES. I SUSPECT THE SAME FOR OUR CAR. DOESN'T MATTER HOW FULL THE TANK IS, AND OF COURSE IT IS PARKED. SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS DEFECT. WE LIVE IN TEXAS WHERE IT IS HOT. WE NOW HAVE ABOUT 130,000MILES ON THE CAR.

I WAS TOLD IT WAS LIKELY A SENSOR ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART. IT HAS DISABLED ON ME ABOUT FIVE TIMES NOW WITHOUT WARNING AND DOES SO AT ANY SPEED. IT STARTED THIS BEFORE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE, SPECIFICALLY AS I LOST TRACTION ON SOME ICY SNOW AND SPUN THE TIRES A FEW TIMES WHEN THE CAR HAD 50,000 MILES ON IT. BEFORE THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS ADDRESSED I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE AS THE TIMING CHAIN AND CAM ACTUATORS FAILED AT 210 K. WE SOMEHOW FORGOT ABOUT THE TC PROBLEM AND THREE DAYS INTO DRIVING WITH A NEW ENGINE THE CAR DISABLED AGAIN STATING SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL.

I HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT THAT GM HAS A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT #11340C ON THE 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK AND NUMEROUS OTHER VEHICLES, FOR THE SAME ISSUE. MY ENGINE CODE IS LY7, SAME AS THE OUTLOOK AND OTHER VEHICLES. ADDITIONALLY I'VE ALREADY HAD 1 RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR A BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE, JUST GOT A NOTICE OF A TRANSMISSION ISSUE, AND I'M ON MY THIRD SET OF COMPLETE BRAKES IN JUST 69,600 MILES AND I NEED ALL NEW BRAKES AGAIN. WHEN PUT ON SIGNAL HAVE TO HOLD AND WHEN IT DOES WORK HAVE TO CUT OFF. I WOULD REALLY ENJOY THIS CAR, BUT DO HAVE SOME ISSUES. I WAS COMING TO A STREET TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AND THE CAR BEHIND DID NOT REALIZE I WAS TURNING BECAUSE AS I APPLIED MY BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHT TURNED OFF INSTEAD OF COMING ON. FINALLY I WAS STOPPED BY ANOTHER MOTORIST AND HE EXPLAINED THAT WHILE DRIVING BEHIND ME HE NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON BUT AS WE APPROACHED THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WHICH WAS RED I SLOWED DOWN( STEPPING ON THE BRAKE) AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF UNTIL I WAS AT A FULL STOP AND MY FOOT WAS PRESSED FIRMLY ON THE BREAK THEN THE BREAK LIGHT COME BACK ON. AS SOON AS I SAW THE RECALL I CALLED MY LOCAL GM DEALER RIGHT AWAY AND TOLD THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING WITH MY BRAKES AND THE FACT THAT WHEN I TRY TO MOVE MY GEAR OUT OF PARK INTO DRIVE I SOMETIMES HAVE TO FORCE IT BECAUSE IT SEEMS STUCK.THEY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK TO SEE IF MY CAR WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE TIER 2 TECH AND THE SUPERVISOR ACTED LIKE THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. I TOLD THEM THAT THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE FAIRLY WIDE SPREAD AND THAT THE NHTSA WAS INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM. THEY STILL CLAIMED THEY WEREN'T AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS SINCE THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE WIDESPREAD. I WAS ADVISED TO HAVE REAR ROTORS RESURFACED, REAR PADS REPLACED AND REPLACE SHOCKS AND STRUTS. ON APRIL 2, 2013, WHILE IN GA FOR BUSINESS/PERSONAL PURPOSES I TOOK MY 2007 SATURN AURA XR TO TIRES PLUS IN SUWANEE, GA TO HAVE THE NECESSARY REPAIR WORK. DESPITE THE COMPLETED REPAIR WORK, FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS THE SOUND KEPT COMING BACK ONLY OCCURRING WHEN I BACK OUT OFF PARKING SPACES. ON APRIL 27, 2013 I TOOK MY CAR TO THE TIRES PLUS IN CHANTILLY, VA. THEY DETERMINED THE REAR ROTORS WERE NOT RESURFACED PROPERLY AND REAR LEFT SHOCK WAS LOOSE. ON MAY 4, 2013 TIRES PLUS, CHANTILLY, VA LOCATION RESURFACED THE REAR ROTORS AND TIGHTENED THE SHOCK. WITHIN TWO HOURS OFF THE REPAIR THE SQUEALING NOISE IS BACK AGAIN. MY RESEARCH HAS INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE AND ONE THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THE CHEAP CONNECTORS IN THE BRAKE MODULE CORRODE AND CAUSE MAY ISSUES: 1. THE BRAKE LIKES WILL OFTEN STAY ON WHILE NOT PRESSING THE BRAKE. THEN THEY WILL TURN OFF WHEN THE BRAKE IS PRESSED. THIS HAPPENS MOST OFTEN, BUT IS ALSO INCONSISTENT AT TIMES. THE LIGHTS SIMPLY ARE NOT RELIABLE AND DO NOT WORK AS THEY SHOULD. 2. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT FUNCTION DUE TO FAULTY BRAKE ENGAGEMENT SIGNAL. 3. IT IS DIFFICULT TO SHIFT THE GEAR SELECTOR DUE TO THE SANE ISSUE. YOU MUST PRESS EXTREMELY HARD ON THE BRAKE TO GET IT TO SHIFT AND THIS LEADS TO ABNORMAL SOUNDS AND OPERATION OF THE BRAKE LEVER. WE HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT WE DON'T FEEL IT ACCEPTABLE TO PAY $100 DEDUCTIBLE TO FIX AN ONGOING PROBLEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THIS HAS LED TO US NOT USING THE VEHICLE MUCH DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 50K MILES ON IT AFTER 6 YEARS. AS YOU PUSH THE BRAKES DOWN THE PEDAL POSITION INCREASES FROM THE STARTING NEGATIVE VALUE UNTIL IT GETS TO 50 AND THEN THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN ON. SO I HAVE A 100 POINT TRAVEL WHERE THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK THE OPPOSITE. I HAVE THIS ALL ON VIDEO. ALSO, WHEN THIS PROBLEM IS APPEARING, IF I DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND RELEASE IT, THE BRAKE LIGHT GOES OFF. I THEN COUNT TO FIVE AND THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON. THIS IS PROBABLY DUE TO THE COMPUTER GOING INTO SOME ALARM MODE. IF I DRIVE DOWN THE STREET PUSHING BRAKE PEDAL EVERY FIVE SECONDS, THE BRAKE LIGHT STAYS OFF. OTHER DRIVERS FLAGGED ME DOWN TO ALERT ME TO THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE CHIMSEL LIGHT IN THE REAR WINDOW REMAINED LIT WHILE DRIVING AND TURNED OFF IF BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED. I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL GM DEALER TWICE..IT TOOK 2 WEEKS EACH TIME, TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM, WHICH WAS EVENTUALLY IDENTIFIED AS A FAULTY BODY CONTROL MODULE. WHILE DRIVING ALONG W/CRUISE CONTROL ON IT SUDDENLY SHUTS OFF, AND MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WITHOUT APPLYING MY BRAKES, THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL I APPLY MY BRAKES THEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE LIGHTS GO OFF I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE & THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON & STAY ON UNTIL I APPLY THE BRAKES AGAIN & THE CRUISE WILL NOT WORK WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHT ARE ON & WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR I HAVE TO PUSH REAL HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ALMOST EVERYDAY FOR MONTHS NOW. I'VE HAD MECHANICS CHECK IT OUT THEY REPLACED STOP LIGHT SWITCH & CLEANED CONTACTS & RESET COMPUTER BUT NOTHING WORKS, GENERAL MOTORS SHOULD HAVE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS IN A BAD ACCIDENT. *TR

THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED THREE TIMES BY A MECHANIC AND THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM WAS WITHIN THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND THE REPAIR WAS NOT PERMANENT. THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS ALSO DEFECTIVE BECAUSE THE RUBBER AROUND THE CYLINDER HAD TO BE REPLACED WHEN THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
