AUTO ACCIDENT THAT OCCURRED ON 07/31/2015, THE LEFT FRONT AIR BAG DEPLOYED ON ITS OWN CAUSING INJURIES TO THE PASSENGER IN OUR VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND ONCE THE KEYS WERE TAKEN OUT IS WHEN RIGHT FRONT AIR BAG WAS DISPLOYED.
DT: 1995 SATURN SL1 4 DOOR. CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2005 . UPON IMPACT, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONSUMER TOOK PICTURES . HOWEVER, HAD NOT CONTACTED DEALERSHIP OR MANUFACTURER BECAUSE HE THOUGHT VEHICLE WAS TOO OLD, AND DEALERSHIP INFORMATION WAS UNKNOWN. THE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 30-35 MPH, HIT THE BRAKES, AND THEY DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS TWO FRONT AIRBAGS . CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS HIT ON FRONT AND DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONSUMER WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE AND WAS WEARING SEAT BELTS. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS NOT ON PRIOR TO THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE POLICE REPORT DID NOT STATE ANYTHING ABOUT THE AIRBAGS. THE CONSUMER GAVE THE REPAIR INVOICE TO INSURANCE COMPANY, BUT COULD GET A COPY. THE ROAD THAT CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ON WAS CLEAR. AFTER THE IMPACT LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHICH RESULTED IN A CRASH. THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED CUTS AND BRUISES BUT WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THE CHEST HIT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAUSE THE SEAT BELTS DID NOT LOCK WHEN HITTING THE BRAKES. WAS ABOUT 24 INCHES AWAY FROM STEERING WHEEL. THERE WAS NO OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGE. THE BACK BUMPER ON THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HAS ALL THE ORIGINAL PARTS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING STEERING LINKAGE SEPARATED FORM VEHICLE. DEALER HAS INSPECTED AND REPAIRED VEHICLE. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS BROKE AND STOPPED TURNING THE FRONT WHEELS. ALSO, THE SIR COIL WAS BROKE. *YH
CAR HIT FROM THE REAR INTO A PICKUP WHILE BOTH WERE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. THE DRIVER'S SEAT FAILED TO STAY IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION CAUSING THE DRIVER TO GO BACK WARDS, INJURING HER NECK. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE SATURN WAS TOTALLED BEING HIT IN BOTH THE REAR AND THEN HITTING THE P/U IN IT'S REAR.*AK
WHILE DRIVING IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE, AND PROCEEDING THROUGH TRAFFIC, TOOK EYES OFF THE ROAD AND REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. *AK
WHEN VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE, TRAVELING ABOUT 20 MPH, THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S SIDE OR PASSENER'S SIDE AIR BAGS. NOT SURE OF THE DAMAGES OR IF THE VEHICLE WILL BE TOTALLED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

COPY OF E-MAIL TO SATURN: DEAR SATURN REPRESENTATIVE, MY HUSBAND AND I ARE CONSIDERING BUYING ANOTHER SATURN SL2. HOWEVER, WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY. MY PREVIOUS SL2 (1995, #[XXX]) WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BY A CHEVY TAHOE ON 5/3/97. I WAS PUSHED INTO ANOTHER CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THAT VEHICLE (A TOYOTA) ENDED UP ON TOP OF MY SATURN. MY SL2 WAS A TOTAL LOSS. I SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK MUSCLE INJURIES. I CONTINUE TO UNDERGO TREATMENTS FOR RECURRING PAIN. THE CAB COMPARTMENT OF THE SL2 HELD UP WELL. HOWEVER, THE DRIVER'S SEAT COLLAPSED AND FELL BACK AGAINST THE BACK SEAT. IT SEEMS THIS LACK OF SUPPORT MAY HAVE ADDED TO MY MUSCLE STRAIN. ALSO, THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. SHOULDN'T IT HAVE DEPLOYED AS THE SL2 WAS PUSHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT? ARE THESE DESIGN ISSUES OR WERE THEY POSSIBLY DEFECTS IN OUR CAR? WOULD THE '98 VEHICLES BE SAFER IN THESE RESPECTS? CONSUMER WAS IN A VERY BAD ACCIDENT. SHE WAS HIT BY A TRUCK GOING ABOUT 50 MPH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, AND CONSUMER WAS INJURED. *AK
